I have recently found a podcast called 'Echoes from the Canyon.' With Jimmi Seiter, who was a roadie for The Byrds, the podcast is absolutely amazing you should definitely listen to it if you dig the Byrds
Anyways, there is a part in one of his episodes that details some of Crosby's 'Rules of the Road' , and I have compiled a list of these hilarious crosbyisms to share with my friends on Tumblr dot com
1. NO GREEN VEHICLES (rental cars, airplanes) (once REFUSED to board a flight because the plane was green)
2. Micheal was NOT allowed to sit by him on a plane
3. NO ONE was allowed to talk to him during a flight
4. If lost, NEVER ask for directions
5. No loud music in the car
6. No dope smoked unless the driver was smoking (usually David drove)
7. No stopping unless DAVID wanted to stop
8. No food in the car
9. No booze in the car
10. No chicks in the car
11. He MUST have the window seat on a plane
12. DO NOT WAKE HIM HE WILL BITE YOU
13. He MUST board the plane before other passengers
14. His room MUST be quiet in the hotel
15. MUST HAVE 24HR ROOM SERVICE
16. If possible his room must be away from the other Byrds
17. Talking to the audience from the stage was forbidden???
There was also a part where he was almost killed by a farmer in a hotel they stayed at, that part is absolutely hilarious if you give it a listen.
And for my Gene girlies, there is an episode going over some of the issues he faced rejoining the Byrds..
