Hamefura Geordo Goes Back in Time After Katarina’s Death

Imagine a bad future were Katarina dies on one of her adventures and Geordo is so heartbroken that he kills himself. Instead of his soul moving on, his memories go back in time to after he had proposed to Katarina and before Keith arrived.

Geordo is determined to protect Katarina this time and to not waste the opportunity of becoming closer to her. He also takes steps to mend his relationship with Alan early.

I’m thinking that Geordo goes to Geoffrey for help and tells him about his memories of the future. Geoffrey, of course, is happy to help his little brother. He might suggest telling their father, as well.

Meanwhile, Katarina is so confused by Geordo’s sudden clingy behaviour. She has no idea that, while she’s in an isekai story, Geordo is in a Peggy Sue story.

My Next Life As a Villainess (Hamefura)

So I remember watching this like 2 years ago briefly, and thought it was an interesting concept: The otome fan getting recarinated as a villain in her fave otome game, but tht 'villain' end up becoming heroine bc it's her and she doesnt want any doom ending (and her dense personality).

At that time, I really didnt think much of it. But recently I rewatched (bc I have been hardcore bingeing on all wholesome shoujo animes), and I ABSOLUTELY FELL IN LOVE WITH HOW MUCH GERALD LOVES KATARINA! Or more specifically just Gerald.

FYI for ppl who never seen the anime: Gerald/Geordo is Katarina's fiance, or it was originally decided between their families. Over time tho, Gerald falls hard for Katarina, while Katarina is too dense and doesn't know this.

Yes, I know everyone in the show loves Katarina and rivals for her love but I just love Gerald. This is why:

The spinoff named "The Pirate Who Summons Trouble", published by Idea Factory and Otomate, is a short love romance story/game released on Nintendo Switch (is a otome novel basically).

In tht spinoff, you can play each of the characters route, similar to other otome games.

I saw a translated version on youtube for Gerald/Geordo since I do not own Switch, but GAWD. HE REALLY WILL DO ANYTHING TO PROTECT KATARINA.

To go further with my argument, I even searched for their manga to read beyond season 2 of anime (sadly I couldnt find more of main storyline since manga is still ongoing) and I found one spinoff story that anime didnt broadcast. Here, Prince Geordo and Mary (hardcore Katarina supporter) tries to confront this girl, named Marsha, who tried to hurt Katarina due to her delusion of how Marsha herself is the one who should have been with Geordo, not Katarina. And I ABSOLUTELY LOVE HOW GEORDO handled this situation. This is from Chapter 49 of Hamefura(spoilers below):

(Katarina is not on the panel bc shes sleeping while this was all happening). The girl with flower on hair is Mary, and shes a big Katarina fan and wants to be with her.

This just really shows how far Gerald will go for Katarina much to her not having any idea about this 😂. And it's so obvious he wants to spoil her by buying and giving things she wants (bc he at some point sends her gift every single day). But Katarina is too dense to even know☠.

I just saw a lot ppl not liking geordo bc they think hes clingy and pushy, which I can see why. But everyone needs to understand that Katarina is extremely dense and usually pushes her feelings bc she is too concentrated on not getting doom ending (this is way more evident in manga and short visual game, but less in anime). If it's not your cup of tea, then so be it, but I hope people dont completely classify him as 'clingy and not respectful of her space'.

More importantly tho, it's just an OTOME

Mysteries from Hamefura LN Volumes 6-11

The light novels were incredible! But since Volume 12 isn't here yet, I wanted to let out some of my excitement regarding some of the Volumes' mysteries

• Why does Pochi keep running to *that* part of the castle?

-> Pochi had ran into the forbidden part of the castle, where the shut-in uncle resides, thrice already. There is definitely something suspicious in there. Is it the uncle? Is it something else? When Pochi goes out of the shadow on his own, it's usually when he senses danger (like Sarah during the Assembly). It could be possible that some dark magic thing is also in that part of the castle. Could it be that the uncle has dark magic??

• What exactly is the serious reason that made that shut in uncle from the castle that way?

-> In Volume 7, we find out that there is a shut-in uncle in the castle. Estella Stuart, the dowager queen, told Katarina that there were serious reasons that made him end up that way. There is the whole issue about the fight of the throne obviously, but what precisely led him to end up like that? Did his loved ones die? Did he have some other traumatizing experience relating to dark magic or something? All of the above? Something worse?!

• Who was the person who sent that mysterious note on FL2's summary to Katarina?

-> this is honestly what I'm super curious about! It's possible that this is just Acchan helping her out again just like in her dreams (Notice that when Katarina is having her FL2 dreams, Sophia is always there when she wakes up). So maybe Acchan could also have somehow found a way to make the note that could help Katarina overcome her doom. BUT im also excited of the possibility that there could be another reincarnate here who knows about FL

• Who is the mysterious 2nd FL2 capture target?

-> There are theories that it's Katarina (and im also onboard with that ship) but I have a feeling it's someone else because of how it's foreshadowed that someone is in the minstry.

In Volume 7, Katarina sensed something evil watching her...

Katarina: It was then that I felt something — a cold, intense stare going through my back. What is this? I thought, turning back, but there was nobody in sight. Did I just imagine that? I looked at my arm and saw that it was covered in goosebumps. I had sensed something evil...

In Volume 10, Sarah reveals that she knew that Katarina was training her dark magic + deciphering the dark convenant. Only a few people including the Ministry's higher-ups should be able to know about that information, which means Sarah's boss (and/or maybe that other acquaintance) works in the Ministry too and might be one of its higher ups. And it is possible that whoever this character is could be the other secret capture target.

• Maria sensing that something is after Katarina...

Maria in Volume 7: Ever since the examination ended and we came back to the Ministry, I could ever so slightly feel an aura, a presence — an evil one. And I got the feeling that this presence was out to get Lady Katarina. It could all be my imagination, but I could not help but feel scared. At the academy, Lady Katarina was once publicly shamed for things that she had never done. We later found out that it was all part of someone else’s plan, but the feeling that I had at the Ministry reminded me of the one from back then. It felt as if the universe was conspiring to take a loved one away from me.

Yup, the universe is definitely conspiring against her 🙂. It was confirmed in Volume 8 that Sarah was the one who gave the dark familiar dragon to the man in Volume 6. It could be that after Katarina defeated the dragon using Pochi, Sarah reported the events to her boss, who started watching Katarina afterwards for who knows what T_T

• Will someone find out about Katarina's secret?

-> SCREW THE MYSTERIOUS NOTE THIS IS WHAT IM EXCITED ABOUT THE MOST!! The way we frickin find out that both Geordo and Keith sensed that Katarina was worried about a secret something ever since she started her working at the Magical Ministry just like how she was at the Academy of Magic is 👏 SO👏 FRICKING👏 GOOD👏

Keith in Volume 10: Currently, however, Katarina must have had bigger things on her mind. Since she had joined the Ministry, she had clearly been worried about something—she was trying to hide it, but it was painfully obvious. I remembered that she had seemed worried in a similar way before starting her time at the academy, so it was possible that her recent woes were of a similar kind. I wished I knew more, but considering how she had dodged my questions, she probably wanted to keep the details for herself. That being said, looking at her terrified expression was enough to tell how serious she was about being scared of hurting others with Dark Magic. As for me, I couldn’t ever imagine Katarina hurting anyone or anything, with Dark Magic or without. I had comforted her about that fact in the past too, but her fear, which must have been truly intense, apparently had not completely subsided. This fear was probably motivated by something that she was hiding from me.

Geordo in Volume 11: I was reveling in happiness, almost in awe, when Katarina told me something else—that she was now facing a personal hurdle that would temporarily keep her from focusing on romance. I remembered that she had seemed concerned about something since she had started her job at the Magical Ministry, just as she had when she had just joined the Academy of Magic. I knew that she was keeping some kind of secret from all of us, but I would not force her to speak about it if she did not want to.

THEY MUST KNOWWW PLEASEEE! The amount of drama and "Is that why you were making toy snakes?!" would be legendary. Like them thinking Katarina was just a super random and carefree girl to finding out that all this time, she was spending years of her life in fear and anxiety, preparing for counter measures after a receiving a prophecy of her doomed fate 😭

More Third Prince Reincarnated AU Fanart!

I drew another fan art of @azure-wolf-227's Third Prince Reincarnated AU! This is probably the drawing that took me the longest to draw, as it took me 14 and a half hours to finish. Did my ipad kick me out because I used 96 layers of art? Yes. Did I mentally cry when trying to figure out how perspective works? Yes. Do I regret it? Nope! Also, the text is a set of lyrics from Katy Perry's song, "The One that Got Away." Ironically, I didn't play it while drawing it, but the song was stuck in my head anyway so there was no point. -w-

Learning About Boundaries

An idea that I discussed with @dulcito-on-ao3 

Ever since being rescued, Keith has taken to being more direct and pushy when reminding Katarina of his feelings and confession, not unlike Prince Gerald. 

During one of those instances, Luigi walks in and demands to know what is happening, not pleased that his son is seemingly taking advantage of his daughter.

Katarina and Keith are scared that Keith will be disowned and kicked out. Luigi reassures them that won’t happen but he wants an explanation.

Keith explains the reason why he was acting that way. Luigi scolds Keith for his behavior because it’s inappropriate no matter his reasons. The Light Novels imply that Luigi knows about Keith’s feelings for Katarina and is not against them but I don’t think that he would approve of that behavior. 

I’m going with the idea that Millidiana was not aware that Keith has romantic feelings for Katarina and is shocked to learn about it. Not because she is against it but because she never considered because she sees Keith as her son.

But she also doesn’t approve of his behavior. So Keith gets a long lecture about boundaries.

Luigi and Millidiana also have a talk with Katarina and ask her how she feels about Keith’s behavior. She explains that she’s conflicted and a bit uncomfortable because, while Keith is handsome, she has considered him her brother for years and those feelings still remain. Katarina realizes that she wants Keith only as her little brother.

Keith told his parents that Gerald also acted pushy so they ask Katarina about what the prince did. Katarina explains about the sudden kisses and whispered words that make her heart race. They ask her if that makes her uncomfortable but Katarina reassures them, explaining that she doesn’t hate it but it’s just very intense for her.

This is meant to be set before Volume 11, maybe a bit after they graduated and Katarina started working at the Ministry, but I want to Katarina to have her realization that she is scared of love earlier. She talks about it with her parents who give her some advice about it. They also give her a lecture about needing to be firm with her boundaries.

I have the idea that the Claes - maybe just Luigi - also have a talk with Prince Gerald about his behavior. Gerald would be regretful because he knows that behavior isn't right and he sees Luigi as a father-figure.

I want to end this with a bit where Katarina and Gerald talk about their relationship. Katarina is willing to give Gerald a chance but makes it clear what her boundaries are.
