so stupid question to the rp community - i have not actively roleplayed in a group setting on tumblr for years up until recently, and i'm just kinda set in my ways of how to do a text thread or a tweet using the "chat" post (examples will be under the cut) but does anyone have a different way to do this now? or do we just suffer with out it?

I'm having issues with my roleplay partner, they only want to do sexual situations or very extreme bouts of drama. I just want to do domestic and nice roleplays and they insist on the more intense scenes. I just don't know what to do, I've tried steering our roleplay into other directions but they keep going back to the things I don't like. I'm afraid of losing them as a partner because they don't take criticism well.

I think what you need to do is have an honest conversation with your rp partner and say that you would prefer to do scenes where there is more fluff/domestic and less drama and sexual situations as it makes you uncomfortable (or something like that).

If you are scared of your rp partner because they may react badly then it sounds like you are not a good match writing wise. Sure you can be friends but your writing habits are different.

It's hardly criticism when all you are asking is to change the dynamics slightly so that not every plot you do is drama filled angst or sex every other time. You won't end up happy if all your character is just doing are things you don't like to write. Is sounds very one sided.

No, no one has to word things respectfully when you’re supporting racism, homophobia, pedophilia, rape and such. Like, if you can’t yourself see all of that, no one has to hold your hand. But then again, you’re using miss white feminist icons as your mascot so it’s not like you don’t already have a thing against minorities.

Not everyone is familiar with all of the intricacies of the show of Glee. I, for one, am not. I am only aware of what I have seen on the internet. I know that the show is problematic, but many other tv shows are that others are and people don't seem to have issues with them being made into roleplay groups. I ask that people word things respectfully, as these are things I don't know a lot about. Should I have done more research than scouring their blog to make sure that it met my other requirements? Probably. I'm sorry that I didn't.

As for assuming that I have "a thing against minorities," is wrong. I also feel like I don't have to defend myself. This blog is meant to share roleplays and help people find groups that they would like to join.

I am sorry for upsetting you. I am sorry for not doing my research on Glee. I thought that opening a dialogue about the show was the right course of action, but it seems as though banning the group all together is the right thing to do. I will be adding it to my rules.

since sebastian never explicitly said he's gay, is okay to write him as bi?

If you ask me, which you did, I personally think it's fine. Bisexuals and pansexuals do exist, and you can never tell what someone's orientation is just by looking at them. Liking Blaine does not mean that he can't like other people, and other genders. Kurt and Blaine both explicitly say they're gay, so They Must Be Gay. Sebastian took them to a gay bar, but anyone can go to those. Keeping him LGBT+ is my only personal law.
