Good Omens trivia (POTENTIAL SPOILER WARNING):
So, for those of you who (like me) have been leaving the show playing in the background to cope boost the views, I eagerly invite you to get interactive and start looking at the little bits of random trivia, or watching the bonus content! For no other reason that they're interesting, charming, and funny. It'll make your rewatches more fun, and you can get a bit of joy out of reading them!
Here's just a few trivia bits I've found:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You can find them by going to x-ray, and then you can find the trivia either in a list per episode (where you can jump to the scene they're talking about) or just check for trivia as the episode plays out.
You can also go to "bonus content" and find 5 minute videos for BTS of each episode.
I'm pretty sure doing this will also help in terms of getting good omens boosted from Primes POV so do give it a go if you're getting bored of playing the episodes over and over!

If you can train your heart
and nerve and sinew
To serve their turn long after
they are gone
And so hold on when there is
nothing in you
Except the will that says to
you - hold on

And men below and heaven above
For love is Heaven and Heaven is love

High fidelity and its meanings
Maybe I’m imagining things, but why is this comment phrased like this? It’s from the Trivia section to ep.3. Don’t more or less all people know what Hi-Fi means? Why give an encyclopaedic description (I checked, it’s from the Oxford dictionary)?
Or is there a hint that something else is “copied or reproduced with high degree of exactness” in the episode/season? Made me immediately think about inconsistency theories and possible versions of reality in season 2.
Also, this reference could be here to point out the other meaning of the word ’fidelity’: faithfulness to a person, cause, or belief, demonstrated by continuing loyalty and support. A notion that really connects to both Aziraphale’s and Gabriel’s characters.

No, Crowley doesn't get rid violently of his plants.

Posting this one from 3 years ago because there's a wave of new Ineffables and they've been curious about many details.

Good Omens: Amazon Prime Trivia
For the Fans! A note from Co-Showrunner and Writer Neil Gaiman on Maggie's Record Shop: "The record shop was opened by Maggie's great-grandmother in the 1920s in a corner of Aziraphale's bookshop. (I think she was demonstrating the new-fangled gramophones and he fell in love with the musical reproduction and realised he could listen to music without leaving his bookshop.) By the 1930s Aziraphale (who owns the buildings that his bookshop is above) offered her the shop next door because (a) it had come free and (b) too many people were coming into his bookshop to buy records. (The original 'Small Back Room' was in Aziraphale's shop.) The shop stayed in the family, and Maggie took it over when her father retired".

I love whoever wrote the good omens fun facts
“our Scottish director enjoyed the Scottishness of this episode”
“David tennant has occasionally played a doctor”
“…10th of november, which happens to be Neil Gaiman’s birthday. We should note- he wasn’t born in 1827.”
“Does anyone want one more whale trivia? Who are we kidding? We know you do”
“No goats were harmed in the filming of this scene”
“Douglas mackinnon failed to get a good shot of terry pratchetts painting in the background, which he’s still fed up about”
“We have no idea what book this is but it seems promising”
“Vivian Van Damm, whom Henderson left the theatre to, described her as ‘a great strain on one’s nerves, patience, and tact.’”
“Fezzes are cool”
“This is the last time our disposable demon, Eric, dies in season 2”
“Ooooops. Never mind. This is where Eric dies for the last time in season 2”
“David tennant is a huge Proclaimers fan and is known to sing ‘I’m gonna be (500 miles)’ on karaoke”

Finally getting around to a re-watch of Good Omens season 2, this time enjoying all the extra content and trivia in X-ray!
So, for the record...
What I thought happened:
Every fan of David Tennant: Please, let the Scot act in his own accent!
Neil Gaiman: I will write a Scottish episode!
David Tennant, upon reading the script: I will do every Scottish accent under the sun, except my own *cheeky grin*
What actually happened:
Every fan of David Tennant: Please, let the Scot act in his own accent!
Neil Gaiman: I will write a Scottish episode!
Also Neil Gaiman: And I'll have David Tennant do every Scottish accent under the sun *diabolical grin*
David Tennant: Guess my native accent! *cheeky grin*

If we DO ever get a Good Omens season 3 (and fingers crossed we will) then using the Second Coming as the narrative device to facilitate the final culmination of Good Omens' ideology and message is brilliant, actually.
Because the Second Coming IS NOT another Adam situation. And, contrary to the misconceptions I've seen, It IS NOT about Jesus being born again as a baby, etc, etc.
THE SECOND COMING. QUITE LITERALLY refers to THE LAST JUDGMENT.
As in. The SAME Last Judgment Michelangelo painted on the walls of the Sistine Chapel. As in - THE JUDGMENT of the Living and the Dead. THE LAST, FINAL, ETERNAL JUDGMENT.
It's the WHOLE thing Armageddon was leading towards. Book of Revelation speedrun: the world ends, everyone dies, and then they get resurrected again to be judged by JESUS himself. He will flick through the Book of Life (WINK WINK WINK DO YOU SEE HOW LOUDLY I'M WINKING AT YOU???), and if your name is there he will go "oh nice you deserve eternal paradise! :D" and if your name is ERASED from the Book of Life he will go "oh no, sorry, you go to the lake of fire for eternity now D:" (except apparently in Good Omens lore it'd just DOOM YOU TO NON-EXISTENCE FOREVER???)
And if you THINK about it, The Last Judgment is the ultimate manifestation of moral absolutism. No shades of gray, no chances. Just BLACK, and WHITE. Never mind that you're like Wee Morag and Elspeth, who are forced to do "bad" things because of circumstances. It's either you pass Judgment Day, or you burn (or disappear forever.) And the way THINGS are going in the Good Omens universe? I don't think there's ANYONE "good" enough to be "saved." Not Crowley, not Aziraphale. Hell, not even the Archangels themselves.
So it provides a PERFECT opportunity for Aziraphale and Crowley to UPEND that SYSTEM entirely.
I think that's what Crowley and Aziraphale would do in s3: establish a new kind of system in which angels and demons have free will to determine the right (or wrong) choice.
Giving them the APPLE, so to speak.
And then they'll go off to retire in a cottage, together at last.

Good Omens Doctor Who Trivia nobody talks about. In "The Omen", (1976) that "Good Omens" likes to parody. The 2nd Doctor actor Patrick Troughton, plays a man trying to stop the Antichrist and Armageddon.

Since I'm awake anyway I wanted to tell you guys about how my friend Liz, who is actually fairly good at recognizing Scottish accents, straight up refused to believe David Tennant was genuinely Scottish because the accent(s?) he puts on while they're in Scotland in Good Omens 2 is so over the top.
