10 fav things about spinner + 10 fav things about shigaraki
this is like asking me to describe my favourite things about the gentle warmth of the sun on my skin on a cloudless day at a beautiful lake that is good and fun to swim in. how can i put words to how perfect something like that is.
TOP TEN THINGS ABOUT SPINNER.
gay little hench fella. most important character trait always.
the bravado and bluster he gets introduced with being a cover for his deep-seated insecurities and internal struggles...
...his claims of high-minded idealism and lofty goals when his true wants are so simple (HOMOSEXUAL LOVE) (and to matter in some way i guess.) (mostly love. though.)
i know he is an annoying backseat gamer. i have said this before but it's so charming to me.
how surprisingly well his character development elevates the Themes & Motifs around how important human connections are for the ostracized. and he doesn't have to be annoying about it.
the charming little touches of characterization. him shrieking GRAND THEFT AUTO as a battle cry in 160, when he has to move his headband tail out of his eyes when trying to deliver a speech to toga. they make him feel so that much more real.
he's so poetic. he should be a writer. that warped, crumbling horizon...i'd never seen anything prettier GOD i know he was writing angsty poetry.
as someone who usually prefers secondary/side character to the mains, he is like. such a great example of a side character done right. he's like commentary on the nature of being a side character (monoma is another example of this in the manga), of the interplay between dehumanization/discrimination (Shoji Arc DNI) and crime, of connection with others and how they inspire us pushing us, etc etc etc. lots of the fun themes.
he is so sincere. so crazy sincere, once you have his love, he is so sincere. and so determined. he has the soul of the troubled outsider type of shonen hero who has to become stronger through the strength of his bonds. but also the energy of that shonen hero's love interest. all trapped in the body of a secondary character. he is so amazing.
when his face is drawn so small and cute and squishy like you can eat it :3
Tumblr media
TOP TEN THINGS ABOUT SHIGARAKI
the reason i read bnha in the first place was because i stumbled upon the leaks of chapter 222 with the tortured flashes of shigaraki's past when i was discourse diving for fun. and then looking at that chapter in full, the way that shigaraki delivered what he remembered of his backstory, the Insane Tragedy of it all. well how could i not love him.
when he wants to murder highschool students. who wouldn't!
i love his physicality, the way his body language is portrayed - like he's generally pretty loose and slumped (especially early on), but he's also very purposeful? it's something that i think horikoshi generally excels with in art, but shigaraki just takes the cake.
for that matter his whole character design is perfection. early on with all the hands was such a unique and creepy look that tied in beautifully to his backstory and also Themes & Motifs. and even when he loses most of the hands, his face is so <3 with all the eyebags and scratches and wrinkles. he's also the character whose appearance has changed the most, in a way that goes hand in hand with his character development.
when he gets pissed off when he first starts trying to recruit people so he goes to the mall. to angst publicly. he wore a hoodie <3
he's a character that's really easy to reduce down to his victimhood and trauma - and lots of people sure do that! - and his victimhood and trauma are essential parts of his character, but even with the dumbass possession arc shigaraki never loses sight of who he is and what he wants, even beyond AFO's influence. it's also really easy to make him Just a villain, a straightforward villain who cares for nothing and no one. but he does care about things, he cares about the league! he does it all.
much like spinner and in fact more than spinner, he has The Most shonen hero energy despite being thee villain. and he's so cool about it. he even gets a love interest.
petty misanthropic bitch but as soon as you know you're place he's chill. this is how shigaraki/resdestro is real.
chapter 379. everything about it but also how he called nagant a flip-flopping screw up. i'm ignoring how he said the same about my friend gentle criminal.
his smile :)
Tumblr media
i feel like both these lists do not do enough to really encapsulate why i love them. but one must try.

Hi, tell me what is the shows from the 2023 lineup of GMMTV are you looking forward to the most? Most likely to flop? Unexpected hit?
Hot Tops: How to Train Your Bottom - Toot It or Reboot It - Kid Fury of The Read
Although this lineup was not as diverse as we were led to believe with several reboots and no new lead pairings, according to GMMTV, the queers are winning in 2023, so there will be no flops! Even Cherry Magic because if anything, people will tune in to trash watch it like they did Unforgotten Night. It's going to lack that Japanese vibe that only Japan can do, but I'm excited to see Thailand put a little razzle dazzle on it. Our Skyy 2, Hidden Agenda and A Boss and A Babe also have a guaranteed audience because of every single pairing, JoongDunk and ForceBook, so they'll do well.
The others not listed here will keep the lights on at GMMTV, but won't be bringing the discourse like these:
Tumblr media
The Jungle had a lot of faves in it, but the pilot trailer gave away nothing except it had a lot of faves in it, and more people equals more problems. - Bottom if it doesn't have a plot beyond family drama
Tumblr media
Midnight Museum had the black/white/red color nonsense that I love. I love the way people were standing. I love the aesthetic. I love the fantasy mystery aspect. The men are looking good, and the ladies are looking even better. I see you in that transparent corset mama! - Top for me, but might be mediocre for the overall crowd.
Tumblr media
I was very excited for Last Twilight because I get more of Sea's side profile and Aof's directing, but @oswlld did a fantastic job of outlining why I should be hesitant of the plot since it deals with medical issues and adjusting to a new way of life. Love does not solve health concerns, so although I'm still excited, I'm going to take a seat and respect the room. - People are already looking at it closely, so it better get it right. On the fence.
Tumblr media
PerthChimon hatefucking their way to love in Dangerous Romance is a gift from the gods. Chimon never misses when he acts, and Perth's screen presence is mesmerizing. There was an awkward hug in the pilot trailer, but I was too busy basking in the joy of them screaming they fucking hate each other and aggressively making out, then using the term sugar baby affectionately to care. - This will be mine and everyone's personality when it airs. Top!
Tumblr media
I'm upset that MilkLove can't play adults in 23.5, but I always support the girls, the gays, and the goths, so I'll be there with every other person who has wanted this for past two years. I also think there will be some color scheming going on between Milk's beanies and Love's headbands, and I will be eating it up. - We bullied GMMTV into this. Top!
Tumblr media
OffGun are like Kelly Clarkson. They are great at their job, and their performances never disappoint. We expect them to be good, therefore, even if Cooking Crush is meh, they will still do better than the rest. They are also playing adults. - Top!
Tumblr media
If Double Savage airs AFTER Dangerous Romance, I think it will be a hit. The crowd will be thirsty for Perth, and this gives enough time between seeing Ohm in 10 Years Ticket and maybe Wednesday Club for people to want to see these two battle it out on a beach with guns in their hands but love in their hearts. - Depends on timing. On the fence.
Tumblr media
Jojo, the director, said that Only Friends will be Britney Spears' "Toxic" level toxic, so I'm eagerly awaiting the FMVs of this show featuring 2WEI's "Toxic" remake. This pilot trailer has the highest amount of views (Dangerous Romance is second by less than five thousand). The people are excited that we will be well fed on this feast for the eyes. Poly is the answer, but since I know GMMTV will not serve us that, I'm just excited that we get to see the bro ho friend rotation in action with such fantastic talent. - The one top to rule them all!

A Bear Called Paddington
Tumblr media
One of those childhood classics I had never gotten around to reading, though I definitely grew up very aware of Paddington. For those who somehow haven’t heard of him, A Bear Called Paddington is about a little bear from Darkest Peru who is forced to immigrate to England. The Brown family runs into this little bear at the Paddington train station (where he gets his name) and decide to take him in since he had no where else to go. The rest of the story follows Paddington’s various well-meaning hijinks. It has a similar feel to the novels of Winnie the Pooh and Mary Poppins. Definitely a slower book than a lot of children’s novels these days, but still super charming; this would make a great bedtime sort of story.
Battle Bunny
Tumblr media
One of the funniest picture books I’ve seen in ages. It’s made to look like someone took an old Golden Book (“The Birthday Bunny”) and rewrote it as The Battle Bunny. You can read the “original” wholesome story about a little Bunny visiting his friends around the forest on his birthday, and then the relentlessly goofy, violent version of the Battle Bunny on his quest to conquer the forest.
Black Clover
Tumblr media
...Okay but this is just Naruto. It’s about a spiky pale-haired boy in a headband with a dark-haired rival. Said spiky-haired boy is absolutely talentless but makes up for it with relentless determination and despite this complete lack of skill is convinced he will become the hokage- I mean, the Wizard King. He takes a ninja- wizard test, and when he passes he gets a new headband and joins a small team where he goes on missions for the community. His first mission involves him going to a mist-covered island where the village people are being tormented by a mercenary with ice magic...
Despite all this, it was an okay read and was kind of charming. If you liked Naruto, it wouldn’t hurt to check out Black Clover. On a more serious note, it’s about a world where everyone has magic abilities, to greater or lesser degrees, and when they come of age they receive a magical grimoire that gives them access to more abilities. The main character, however, has absolutely no magical potential and receives a grimoire that, instead of casting magic, has the ability to cancel out other people’s magic.
Bug Boys
Tumblr media
A very charming graphic novel about a pair of beetles (Rhino-B and Stag-B). These stories are episodic little adventures of this pair as they meet other bugs and explore the land around the Bug Village. The tone is kinda wild because it goes from very simplistic goofy comic stories, to shockingly deep and metaphoric. Kind of has an Adventure Time like vibe?
Emily of New Moon
Tumblr media
A Canadian classic. This is a second series written by L. M. Montgomery, author of Anne of Green Gables and it has the exact same style as Anne. In some ways one might argue that it’s repetitive of the last series, but honestly it’s exactly what I want. While I love Anne of Green Gables I never cared as much for the rest of the series, all I wanted was more Anne as a child, not Anne as an adult, and that is exactly what Emily of New Moon delivers.
It’s the story of Emily Starr, an imaginative, sensitive child, who is orphaned when her sickly father passes away from TB. Rather than leave her to an orphanage, her late-mother’s estranged family, the Murrays, adopt her out of familial duty and bring her to live on the strange, old-fashioned New Moon farm. There Emily learns to contend with the Murray pride, starting school, making new friends, and blossoming into an avid writer.
I’ve read this book plenty of times, and listening to an audiobook of it again was such a relaxing experience. I would recommend this to anyone that likes period pieces about whimsical childhoods and strongly written young girl characters.
Minecraft: The Island
Tumblr media
This was my Completely Shocking Book Of The Month because I started it as a joke and, to my total amazement, kinda fell in love with it. But then again it is written by Max Brooks, author of World War Z. This ended up being a survival-horror isekai that actually sticks the landing, and this is coming from someone with zero interest in a) Minecraft and b) isekai. It’s like Hatchet, if Hatchet took place in a video game world and involved amnesia. I love stories that involve needing to learn a new set natural laws to navigate a world and this book has that coming out its ears.
It’s about a main character (with no specified gender) who wakes up and finds themself in a strange, cubed world, with a baffling array of rules. The MC needs to come to terms with being in complete isolation, surrounded by monsters, and constantly contending with starvation, fear, and confusion as they try to learn how to survive and understand this strange world they’re trapped in.
The Nameless City
Tumblr media
Written by someone who worked on the Avatar: The Last Airbender comics, which isn’t surprising because this series has a very strong Avatar vibe, in all the right ways. It takes place in a politically volatile city. As it’s the only pass through the mountains, this city is constantly conquered and reconquered by neighbouring powers. This book is about Kaidu, a child of the Dao empire, the current occupying force. He was sent to the City to meet his father, one of the local generals, and in the meantime meets Rat, one of the city children who is actually affected by the constant violence and control of the occupiers. If you liked Avatar you should give this trilogy a go because the characters are very endearing and the art is beautiful.
Peter & Ernesto
Tumblr media
Years back I enjoyed the weird little cartoons made by this fellow, when he was using the name The Grickle; I didn’t realize he was now making graphic novels. These graphic novels very much have his humour and art style all over it. These books are about two sloths: adventurous, optimistic Ernesto, and anxious, fretful Peter. Despite their differences, they’re best friends and are there to pull each other out of scrapes.
Rick
Tumblr media
I’ve read Alex Gino’s other middle grade novel, George, which was about a transgirl coming to terms with her identity in grade four. This new book, Rick, takes place in the same world, though you don’t need to have read George first. Rick is about a boy who was best friends with the bully of the first book, and, now in middle school, is coming to realize that not only is his friend not the sort of person he’d always believed he was, but that his own sexuality might not be so clear cut either. On a positive note, this is the first time I’ve read a middle grade novel that deals with asexuality, and Gino creates rich, warmhearted, living worlds in their books. However, it also felt like it was trying to take the past ten years of tumblr queer discourse and cram it almost verbatim into one book which was… a lot to deal with. It felt rather preachy and repetitive of debates I’ve already been forced to live through, and I don’t always appreciate the conclusions the author draws on those debates.
Honestly, more than anything I would say read George instead, it felt like the much stronger book of the two to me.
The Rock From The Sky
Tumblr media
Fascinating children’s book. Jon Klassen’s books are always bizarre and strangely toned for children’s books, and this one is no exception (this is the author who wrote Where Is My Hat and the like). I don’t know how to explain it without spoiling it, so honestly if you want a deranged children’s book, give it a read. All I can say is that, yes, a rock comes from the sky. Does it ever.
Sweep: A Story of a Girl and her Monster
Tumblr media
An amazing novel! This takes place during the Industrial Revolution, about a chimney sweep named Nan Sparrow. After being abandoned by The Sweep, the only guardian she can ever remember having, she’s been scraping a living under the cruel thumb of the master sweep to whom she’s indentured. However, when she gets stuck in a chimney fire, certainly about to die, she finds that the char she’s kept in her pocket, the only thing left to her by The Sweep, has woken up and is, in fact, a tiny soot golem there to protect her. Nan and her tiny monster now have a chance to escape Nan’s servitude, and carve out a life for themselves in the grimy London streets — and more importantly, hidden up on the grimy London rooftops.
You Should See Me In A Crown
Tumblr media
I decided to read this because I’ve always heard rave reviews for it, but honestly, it wasn’t for me. I can see why people do like it, it’s very much a cottoncandy sort of read, but it’s also very much not my genre. I didn’t love high school slice of life stories even when I was in high school, and it’s only become less appealing as I’ve grown up. And this high school in particular feels like it was lifted directly from a Disney Channel original movie. Way too much American prom culture. So yeah, if you’re into that sort of story, then it lets you experience that genre with a queer protagonist, but personally I didn’t bother finishing it.

Stories of Insubordination
rehearsed-mania
Title: Stories of Insubordination (AO3) Ship: Bismuth & Pearl (Steven Universe) Rating: T (for now) Summary: Between a Pearl who belongs to no one and a Bismuth who makes weapons for rebels, a deep — and subversive — bond can be forged. This is a collection of snippets following their shared resistance during the Rebellion.
>> Chapter 1 under the cut <<
I. The Strike
Bismuth would later interpret she’d always been a rebel on her own account and no one else’s. It had been as if she only ever needed the slightest spark to rise: that was Rose Quartz. Rose’s discourse but not her presence, mind you, for they’d only stand face to face many, many, many years after the first revolutionary ideas had begun to spread like a virus among Gems.
Nothing more life-threatening than infusing simple workers with dangerous ideas about their own place in the overall shit that was the Diamond Empire. Imperceptible mistakes were made and entire buildings would fall off within months of use by the Uppercrust. This Bismuth — facet 6f9f, cut 8tr — would secretly bask in the destructions; she just couldn’t avoid the satisfaction of seeing work routine be slowly dismantled after they’d all finally heard:  You can be what you want, you can do what you desire .
The whispers, the doubts, the dreams, a budding lack of purpose. She — facet 6f9f, cut 8tr — and her comrades were immersed in this new perspective which they couldn’t yet name.
Until the first Bismuths shattered themselves, one after the other. These creatures couldn’t fathom the reality of still serving their superiors and knowing with certainty they were no more than servants. At least, that was Bismuth facet 6f9f, cut 8tr’s hypothesis: their previous ignorance had been bliss, without being pressured to take part in a future, closer than ever riot. In the end, all it took was the absence of one Agate supervisor and, in mere minutes, repetitive, shrieking noises were heard in each corner of the forge.
“My comrades in tools,” this Bismuth declared on the very same day, holding in her arms the illegal weapons used by her colleagues to commit their first and last crime in this planet “we’ve reached our limit. Nothing and no one has the power to hold us back from our new purpose! We have to fight back for our friends! Fuck the elite scum!”
There was no united reaction from the other Gems: some shouted and whistled, some remained silent in fear. Come what may, facet 6f9f, cut 8tr’s leadership decisively turned their collective paths around. Before long, they’d already poofed the Agate right when she returned to find them in total havoc, threw her gem in the pool of lava, broke all machines and crossed their arms.
A Bismuth paralysation under Pink Diamond’s nose; now, that was quite the situation. Thankfully, Her Clarity was too overzealous with her own little experiments to even care. News were running rampant in the world thanks to one pilgrim Bismuth. The remaining peons stood their ground and waited. With no Agate to report them to Homeworld superiors and barely any production needed for a half-assed colony such as Earth, the impacts would be minimal, except for one consequence, the grandest of all.
Bismuth — facet 6f9f, cut 8tr — knew exactly what she wanted: to meet Rose Quartz. The detractor had been organizing clandestine reunions with other Quartz soldiers, but so far not with the masses of working Gems. Would she step down a notch and listen to the rough, resigned constructors? She did, and thousands of years later this tired Gem could still remember a surge of energy coming directly from her stone, zoning out her projected body in waves of defiance as the entrance alarm rang.
“It’s her, I can feel it!” a comrade exclaimed, glued to the cave’s wall.  Open it, open it ! she was cheered on. Without hesitation, the guard connected her Gem’s power to the metal surface. It was unsealed in a chain of multiple doors opening horizontally and vertically, up and down, left and right, until the last barrier was peeled off and, at last!, there she was: Rose Quartz. She towered above all the rest, chubby and graceful in a dress more creamy than white - her purpose wasn’t to pay homage to the big stellar boss, after all.
The Bismuth almost tumbled on her own apron, for she had never witnessed a presence as… as… the uncalled urge to bow down overtook her. Self-restrain, woman! Shouldn’t they be equals? But what else was there to expect, when every subversive thought this poor Bismuth had ever entertained was authorised and legitimated by the very Gem right before her? They should be equals.
The incendiary walked in strides towards them. However, another sight quickly diverted facet 6f9f, cut 8tr’s attention.
Almost at Rose’s side, following her in minute little steps, was a Pearl. A Pearl, of all beings! Who could she be? No, it wasn’t possible… stars,  the renegade ! Tiny, thin, weak, as if she would break at any moment, cracking like a china damaged beyond repair. Her face, though! — her hard-set eyes, her tousled hair, her unshaking posture. This Pearl could melt even a Bismuth into lava.
“Pleasure to meet you, fellow Bismuths,” Rose Quartz greeted them as she first stepped into the hot, sweaty forge, a place not at all delicate such as herself. “You’ve done an extraordinary job here. I must confess I’ve never seen anything like this before. Have you ever heard of another strike in this galaxy, Pearl?”
“It certainly has been a long time, in a faraway planet. I have heard that the Bismuth kindergarten policies have been modified after the incident.”
She spoke in the monotonous tone Pearls were known for. Her capacity to not move a single inch was quite unnerving, probably a remaining trait of slavery. From her cherished corner near the wall, Bismuth could not only watch the Pearl closely, but notice the small yet concrete distance that kept her apart from Rose.
“Oh, really? What a delight — the strike, I mean, not Homeworld’s tyranny.”
Facet 6f9f, cut 8tr wasn’t able to stop looking at this Pearl. She hadn’t known creatures from a class as her own were able to transcend it in some way. How could a Pearl hold herself with such poise? What an absurd proposition it was that one of her kind acted shamelessly arrogant towards pretty much any other real Gem in existence. She didn’t greet the crowd, let alone  smile  or talk. She clearly hadn’t bothered looking enticing for anyone, maybe except for her master — after all, was Rose her master or not?
Her big, round eyeballs were scanning the laborers, all too blinded by Rose Quartz’s presence to even notice. When their eyes met, Pearl slided her analytical gaze over Bismuth’s form. This solid builder suddenly felt devoid of any coverup — before she knew it, the words had spilled from her mouth.
“Do you belong to somebody?” After an offbeat instance of silence, Bismuth’s feet began to fidget.
The Pearl blinked. When she finally spoke, her voice was precise to a fault. “No one owns me.”
“Wow. So you’re really your own Gem, eh?” She laughed to herself, tucking her rainbow locks over the headband. The pride contained in this Pearl’s words — so far, no more than a few — was too much even for a working class radical to comprehend. There was still so much to learn.
Another harsh pause. “Yes, I am. Anything more?” It sounded kind of pre-programmed, like an official message repeated over and over again; perhaps, she  did  have to reiterate her stance every time to disbelieving Gems.
Bismuth rubbed her neck in muted embarassment. “Excuse me, I’m just a good ol’ Bismuth who can’t stop asking questions. Y’know, haven’t always been allowed to.”
The Pearl didn’t respond. Instead, she turned her attention back to the other Bismuths who’d been trying to reach Rose with no success, thanks to the mates who’d bundled up around the great leader, pouring onto her all the demands of long, exhausting labor cycles.
“You should all form a circle so we can listen to what you have to say,” she commanded as loud as possible. Damn, by the likes of it she’d blindly bet this Pearl could scratch a Bismuth. This was the whole point of the rebellion, wasn’t it, that no Gem outpowered another based on oppressive ranks which they had never decided by themselves?
The Gems turned back to stare at her, but didn’t budge at all. There lied an uncertainty in the air, that didn’t dissipate before Rose eventually spoke up.
“Pearl is right, oh my, how can we talk this way? Please, let’s sit down.” Only then did the Bismuths change position, following her eagerly. It was revolting how Gems were built to take orders from superiors, but it would take time to rewire themselves. A few thousand years down the road, maybe?
Facet 6f9f, cut 8tr sat on the floor with the rest of her turf. She exchanged looks with her folks, who nodded in encouragement; it was her right and duty to speak. “Oh, we sure have a bunch of stories to tell you two.” She stretched her arms way over her head. “What do you want to hear about? Our forge conditions, the work accidents, our dependence on a Zircon to stay alive in this society, how we’re all sick and tired of working ‘til death while Emeralds sit on us like we’re chairs?”
“By work accidents, I believe you mean the latest temple disasters,” the Pearl said as calculated as before while sitting almost next to her.
“Yeah, but not only those. I’ve lost count of how many companions have slipped up and cracked their stones with these stardamned machines. And not all of them were fixed.” She sighed in pain, hands closed in fists, remembering her long gone friends 8fg, 6xl, 5dj.
“My condolences, fellow Bismuth. It must be a never-ending grief,” Rose whispered sweetly, as if she were capable of experiencing the same ache. Somehow, though,  never-ending grief  still wasn’t enough to translate all the...
“We need more information,” the Pearl insisted. “I couldn’t grasp what you’ve mentioned about the Zircons. Be as detailed as you can.” There was no  please  at the end, it didn’t go unnoticed.
This Bismuth wasn’t quite in the mood to be thoroughly interviewed, but the opportunity to share so many horrors she and her own lived on a daily basis was far more important than any setback. She went on and on, a few corrections and complements offered by other comrades in tools along the way. The Pearl watched her with full attention.
“We’ve reached a breaking point in this galaxy, it’s true. Change is everything we need.” It was Rose’s final say in the matter. “You Bismuths are dedicated and skilled constructors, but your talent has been wasted so far. Join us and you’ll have the power to choose: what does each one of you want to build?”
Such a simple yet unforeseen question. This simple Gem had never considered choice as a possibility, no matter how much anger the repetitive activities raised within her. She found herself gasping for air she didn’t need, the pressure of a question, when had the Uppercrust ever asked her anything?, stars, it hit her hard, more than any rock ever could. One entire existence could be reinvented in a few seconds, after all.
She raised her hand. No other friend motioned to speak.
“I’ll make whatever you need for the Rebellion,” she spat out. She was angry, some  fucking  anger it was, and it fed her to the core. “You name it and I’ll do it.”
The Pearl looked at her hard. “Do you have any knowledge about crafting weapons?”

So I’m thinking about if hatefuck Harry was having a really really bad day and he doesn’t know why but for some reason he wants to be with yn and he finds her but she is being rude to him like they normally do just the normal hatefucking discourse and Harry like ,,, doesn’t have the energy to be mean right now bc he’s sad and just wants her so he stops her and he’s like “Can I just... have you? Can we skip the ‘I hate you’ part for today?”
mY HEART IS HURTING I LVOE THIS S OMUCH
@permanentcross…..the saga continues….
Today has been…bad.
That’s the only word Harry can use to describe it.
He’s just about ready to give up on songwriting altogether, his brain having betrayed him in the most treacherous of ways. Harry likes to think that he can string lyrics along, put two and two together to make them fit with his tune and to wrench the hearts of any listeners. But today…his abilities have yet to reveal themselves.
He’s moping on the couch of the recording studio, feeling sorry for himself as he glares unhappily at the notebook in front of him. The page had been clean when he first walked in this morning, but now it’s littered with pen marks and bits of eraser, nearly every word crossed out with harsh, dark lines of graphite. He chews on his bottom lip, staring up at the ceiling and closing his eyes to stop himself from crying. He thinks he might actually sob himself to sleep tonight.
He feels…incompetent. He feels like a failure.
“Okay, so I was thinking that maybe–oh.”
Harry’s eyes flash open, and he turns his head to the left. You’re standing in the doorway of the room, fresh-faced and clad in a baby pink knit sweater and a pair of light jeans. There’s a plain black headband pushing your hair out of your eyes. You look cute–not sexy, not hot, just cute.
Harry stares at you for far too long, until you finally clear your throat and say in a tight, clipped voice. “Where’s Jeff?”
“Went home fo’ the night,” Harry replies, his voice scratchy and dry. He feels like he’s just swallowed a bag of cotton balls. “‘M the only one left.”
“Shame,” you murmur, pursing your lips and muttering, “I was gonna discuss some ideas for your merchandise with him.”
You let out a soft sigh, taking a step back out of the room and turning around. Harry’s eyes widen, and he feels you slipping through his fingers, feels his opportunity sliding away from him at an exponential pace. “Wait!” he says suddenly, the word getting caught in his throat.
You peer at him from over your shoulder, your lips turned down into a faint scowl. “What is it?”
“I–,” Harry hesitates, because what the hell was he supposed to say to you? He didn’t think he’d get this far; his mouth just acted without checking with his brain first, and great, now he looks like a complete moron.
“I can’t write songs,” he blurts out, rubbing at his tired eyes and pouting. Your brow furrows, and the features of your face are contorted by a mixture of confusion and disgust. You shake your head, looking extremely inconvenienced by this interaction.
“You’ll figure it out,” is all you say. Harry’s frown only deepens.
“No,” he stresses, his hands coming up to tug at the roots of his hair. He lets out a frustrated groan, squeezing his eyes shut. “Like, I think I’m blocked or summat. Haven’t–haven’t been able to write anything today.”
You roll you eyes. “That’s great, Harry, but how am I supposed to help you with that? Go out and get laid, maybe you’ll find some inspiration.”
And with that, you tuck a strand of hair behind your ear and walk away.
Harry’s mind is reeling. He’s clutching his notebook so tightly that his knuckles are turning white. Your words echo through his head like a mantra, and before he knows what he’s doing, he’s practically tripping over himself as he chases after you.
“Wait!” he calls out again, stumbling along the hall, “Bloody hell, slow down!”
You’re about to round the corner when his words ring out, and you freeze, letting out an annoyed sigh when you turn to face him. You seem to be biting your tongue against a particularly snappy comment, and Harry admires your self-control. He knows that he could easily have you fired with a flick of his fingers, and he knows that you know it too.
“What?” you ask, obviously aggravated by his constant pestering. He stops in front of you, stepping forward until your back is pressed against the wall. His hands reach out to splay firmly against the space beside your head, effectively boxing you in.
“Let me–,” he takes a deep breath, “–please, lemme…need t’feel useful, just lemme–”
He breaks off, ducking his head into the crook of your neck and nosing your hair out of the way. His lips begin to sponge soft kisses along the column of your throat, tongue licking tenderly at the skin. You’re stiff for the first few seconds before deciding that you’ll allow him to continue on.
“You’re such an idiot,” you groan, fingers digging into his shoulders harshly, “What is wrong with you?”
“Don’t,” Harry pants, pulling back. He stares at you sternly, his nostrils flaring and his eyes a dark, stormy green. “Don’t pretend like this isn’t what yeh want. ‘M no fool, love.”
“Aren’t you?” you bite back. Harry retaliates by pressing his lips against yours. You gasp at the action–your rude remarks usually grant you bruising, punishing kisses that tint your lips a faint purple afterwards. This…this is nothing like that.
Harry’s kissing you softly, tenderly. His hands come up to frame your face, cupping your cheeks as he glides his lips against yours. You whimper into his mouth when he nudges his thigh between both of yours, one hand falling down to your hip and pushing you down gently so that you can rub yourself against him.
“Just…,” he finally pulls back, his gaze meeting yours, and instead of the fiery determination that you usually find swimming in his eyes, you uncover a dismayed look of sorrow. Harry lets a small, sad noise fall from his lips, and he runs a hand through his hair, feeling humiliated.
“Can I just…just have you? Can we skip the whole ‘I hate you’ part for tonight?”
And you don’t know what prompts you to do it, but you find yourself nodding at his words.
He eats you out, taking his time and licking at every crevice of your cunt. You cum on his tongue twice before he finally decides to give you his cock, and the both of you groan in unison when he pushes inside of you at last. His pace is hard and steady, consisting of firm staccato pumps that have you seeing stars. He insists on pulling a third orgasm from your wrecked, clammy body before he even thinks about letting himself fill you. And once he does achieve his goal, his eyes slam shut, the veins in his neck bulging as he empties himself inside of you.
He slumps down on top of you afterwards, his ear pressed against where he can hear your heart thumping rapidly in your chest. Your hands snake up to his curls, mindlessly twirling strands of his hair around your fingers; he just sighs, satisfied, and presses a kiss to your nipple.
The cool air of the studio eventually dries your damp bodies, and that’s why you nearly gasp when you feel something wet hit the skin of your chest. A moment later, Harry lets out a quiet, barely-there sniffle, which only confirms your suspicions. Under any other circumstance, you would have taunted him relentlessly, but this time…
This time, you keep quiet.
Neither of you realize that that’s the night which marks a pivotal point in your relationship.
That’s the night that everything changes.

JBL Quantum 600 Gaming Headphones Full Review The JBL Quantum 600 is related via 2.4GHz. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); JBL's scope of sound items are extraordinarily various, crossing everything from moderate versatile speakers, for example, the JBL Go 2 to the very top of the line audiophile-grade amplifiers, for example, the JBL Project Everest arrangement, which can cost up to Rs. 1 crore. In the middle of these two limits falls all that you can consider in the field of individual sound, including the organization's most recent earphone territory planned explicitly for gaming. Valued between Rs. 2,499 and Rs. 22,999, the JBL Quantum go offers different structures, capacities, and network alternatives, all engaged around improving the gaming sound understanding. The JBL Quantum 600 which is usually in the middle of the spectrum and is priced at Rs. 12999 is currently being tracked. This over-ear computer headset offers wired and portable networks and is designed for in-game voice and visual communication. Discover exactly how these new gaming earphones work in our audit. Lighting impacts on the JBL Quantum 600 Gaming earphones are ordinarily as much about style and oomph as about execution, and the JBL Quantum 600 doesn't baffle. The over-ear earphones are huge and essentially plastic, yet look present day and restless like no standard earphones in the sub-Rs. 15,000 value fragment. Thick texture lines associate the two channels, and the headset is adaptable and movable for an agreeable fit. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); The outside sides of the ear cups have huge JBL logos, illuminated by RGB LEDs. The lights are on as a matter of course when the earphones are turned on, and the hues and examples can be modified utilizing the JBL QuantumEngine application (accessible just for Windows here), which likewise lets you change equalizer settings. While it is conceivable to utilize the JBL Quantum 600 without this product, setting up the Quantum Surround highlight or DTS tuning on the earphones requires it. Without it, you'll need to depend on the default tuning of the headset, and you won't approach any of the extra tuning and customizable equalizer settings. The default lighting impact burns through different hues and examples, and it looked very great to us. There are extra marker lights at the base of every ear cup that show the headset's capacity status and battery level, and a mouthpiece status light on the flip-up blast. At the point when raised, the mouthpiece is turned off, and pulling it down and into place turns it on. This was a snappy and helpful approach to utilize the mouthpiece, and I very loved it. The receiver tail is adaptable and can be acclimated to appropriately catch your voice. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); The JBL Quantum 600 is agreeable, because of thick froth cushioning around the ear cups and on the underside of the headband. This additionally guarantees great inactive commotion disconnection, however made it somewhat warm for my ears over significant stretches of utilization. The correct side has the force switch, while the left side has the USB Type-C port and 3.5mm jack, a catch to electronically quiet the amplifier, and two dials for volume control and adjusting the sound blend. The sound blend balancer is an intriguing choice since this lets you modify the tuning relying upon whether you need the earphones to concentrate on game sound or voice correspondence or choose your harmony between the two. In case you're utilizing the earphones with a PC, you can likewise change this through the sound settings.  Interface the JBL Quantum 600 remotely, or with a 3.5mm link At the point when 'remote network' is referenced on a couple of earphones, it's typically thought to be Bluetooth. Be that as it may, Bluetooth has its shortcomings for gaming, basically with regards to dormancy. The run of the mill delay in sound transmission can mean the distinction between in-game life and passing, so Bluetooth is generally maintained a strategic distance from for wired associations on gaming earphones. The JBL Quantum 600 has a separable 3.5mm link for customary wired availability, yet the utilization of an exclusive 2.4GHz remote network includes some utility for gaming while at the same time keeping away from the inactivity issues of Bluetooth innovation. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); One major shortcoming of a non-standard remote sound arrangement is that it needs a dongle or beneficiary, which must be truly associated with the source gadget. A USB Type-A dongle can be used to connect to PC, Playstation 4, Mac, and VR device is powered by JBL Quantum 600. Different stages, including Xbox, Nintendo Switch, versatile (Android and iOS), and more seasoned Playstation gadgets should depend on 3.5mm wired availability, which you can decide to use on the remote upheld stages too. On upheld stages, the dongle interfaces remotely with the headset in the wake of setting up your source gadget to yield sound through USB. On my MacBook Air, I was moreover ready to set the sound yield to either Game or Chat mode, which improved the sound for every particular reason. The dongle has a pointer light that stays static when the headset is associated, and an interface catch to associate with the earphones if necessary. Be that as it may, I didn't even need to utilize the catch, as the earphones naturally associated with the dongle with no difficulty without fail. The JBL Quantum 600 is powered by 50 mm high power drivers. It has a periodic reaction range of 20-20,000Hz. In the case is the headset, USB dongle for remote network, a 3.5mm earphone link, and a USB Type-C link to charge the earphones. The USB Type-C port on the headset is just for charging and doesn't bolster direct USB network with a source gadget. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I had the option to utilize the headset for around 10 hours on a solitary accuse of blended-use and the RGB lighting on, including music, gaming, watching recordings, and phone calls on the PC. This is certainly not an especially decent figure, yet since these are to a great extent implied for home utilize and can be connected and utilized without power, it's worthy. Great by and large solid on the JBL Quantum 600 Most earphones that we audit are judged generally on their capacities with music, however, I normally needed to switch things up a piece for the JBL Quantum 600. I to a great extent utilized the earphones remotely with a MacBook Air as a universally handy headset for messing around, tuning in to music, having discussions on phone calls, and watching recordings. I additionally utilized it with an iPad for gaming. The sound mark could be tuned in various games for accuracy, vocal quality, and spatial sense, while the JBL Quantum 600 sounds fairly good enough when tuned with music. The default tuning of the sound is its solitary genuine shortcoming, in spite of the fact that this can be balanced utilizing the equalizer settings. All things considered, the astounding point of interest and wide, rich soundstage made incidental music listening pleasant on the JBL Quantum 600. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); This normally likewise made for an incredible encounter when messing around, especially when the sound equalization is set to concentrate on game sounds. Playing Spyder on Apple Arcade on the MacBook Air was very pleasant from the sound viewpoint, as the JBL Quantum 600 figured out how to keep the sound vivacious and strong while taking into account abundant detail and swoon audio effects to be heard plainly. What was generally noteworthy, and what makes this headset appropriate for gaming, is its capacity to mimic course regardless of being restricted to two sound system channels. With Spyder, just as with different games on the PC that can use a feeling of directional sound for powerful ongoing interaction, for example, Modern Combat 5 on the iPad, this engaged tuning got the sound appropriate for gaming. The detail is especially valuable here, as it lets the JBL Quantum 600 appropriately imitate a large number of the blackout foundation sounds in games, just as spot the attention on center interactivity components, for example, discourse, strides, and weapon sounds. Playing the well known PUBG Mobile on an Android cell phone with the earphones connected, the main genuine grievance I had was that the sound was somewhat delicate even at the most noteworthy volume. In a tranquil room, this wasn't an issue, and I could hear both game sound and voice visit enough. The directional tuning was on point, as was the detail and the openness of the sound which gave me a not too bad feel of the game. I won the first round of PUBG Mobile played by the JBL Quantum 600 and I have a great deal to say to my adversaries where the shooting and advances are based. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Regardless of whether wired or remote, the JBL Quantum 600 sounds great. Remote availability guarantees stable and to a great extent dormancy free stable transmission on the JBL Quantum 600; there was no discernible deferral in the sound, and it was a similar nature of transmission as utilizing the earphones with the 3.5mm earphone link. I likewise tried the JBL Quantum 600 earphones for voice correspondence on my MacBook Air, utilizing it for various phone calls on Zoom, Google Meet, Cisco Webex, and different stages. At the point when set to the Chat design and with the sound blend balancer set right to Chat, voices were boisterous, unmistakable, and exceptionally simple to recognize. The extensive size of the sound took a portion of the typical edge and abrasiveness out of telephone calls even at the most noteworthy volumes. The mouthpiece is very appropriate for voice catch too, and the flip usefulness made it advantageous to rapidly initiate and deactivate the receiver varying. This makes the JBL Quantum 600 appropriate for voice visits in different conditions, and the capacity to set the harmony among talk and game sound guarantees that you can enhance the sound to your requirements. Decision While most earphones are tuned for music, gaming requires quite a certain tuning, structure, highlights, and availability choices to be powerful. With the Quantum 600, JBL has gotten quite a bit of this right. The sound is all around tuned for gaming, however altogether sufficient for various purposes including tuning in to music, voice talk, and that's only the tip of the iceberg. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Remote network that is steady and liberated from any observable dormancy or sound quality issues is a major reward also, making this headset appropriate for gamers who need to go string free. Battery life is the main region where the JBL Quantum 600 falls somewhat short. At Rs. 12,999, the JBL Quantum 600 is very much estimated for what's on offer, and its great structure and RGB lighting are gamer-explicit augmentations that I very preferred. Regardless of whether you're only an incidental or versatile gamer, the JBL Quantum 600 is an adaptable headset that works over numerous gadget stages for different purposes and merits considering for ordinary use with a PC. Value: Rs. 12,999 Pros Agreeable, great looks Very much tuned for gaming Stable, idleness free remote network Excellent amplifier Customizable RGB lights and sound Cons Normal battery life Remote network doesn't take a shot at all stages Quantum Engine application works just on Windows Volume is somewhat delicate when utilizing 3.5mm availability Evaluations (out of 5) Configuration/comfort: 4.5 Sound quality: 4 Battery life: 3 Incentive for cash: 4 By and large: 4  For Regular & Fastest Tech News and Reviews, Follow TECHNOXMART on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Google News and Subscribe Here Now. Why Are White People So Afraid of Immigrant Kids?
Not long ago I was in Wilmington, Delaware—reporting another story—and I visited Academia Antonia Alonso, a two-way dual immersion charter school where over half the students are English-language learners.
I sat down in one classroom and flexed my rusty, trusty undergraduate Spanish major (and long-ago practice in Barcelona pubs).
An African-American girl with two buns held by pink hair-ties screwed up her face and explained the difference between singular and plural nouns, in halting—but linguistically perfect—Spanish.
Next, students worked in pairs to sort nouns on a paper. “Vamos a escribirlos en colores diferentes?” (“Are we going to write them in different colors?”) asked a wiggly Latino boy in a blue sweater.
A small girl with rainbow ribbons and unicorns on her headband grew distracted. “¿Sabes como se escribe ‘delicioso’?” asked her teacher (“Do you know how to write ‘delicious’?”).
The girl nodded—she knew, but she rolled her eyes and tossed her head with a giggle before starting to write.
Threat Alert
Here they are, those kids you’ve heard so much about. Here are those children of immigrants who are supposedly threatening the safety and future stability of the United States.
Though March 5 has come and gone, the United States has done nothing to stabilize conditions for children of immigrants protected under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. Worse, The Washington Post recently reported that President Donald Trump is preparing to sign a long-rumored executive order to make it much harder for legal immigrants to secure permanent residency in the United States. The new policy would make it much more difficult for parents and/or low-income immigrants to come to—and stay in—the United States.
The new policy doesn’t target hardened criminals or other nefarious evildoers. It targets immigrant parents simply because they are parents. It targets the immigrant poor simply because they are poor.
Why, in a country with falling birth rates, does this administration reserve such special attention to making life harder for the world’s meek and downtrodden families?
I’m a White guy who lives in a neighborhood full of immigrant families. I spend a fair amount of my professional life in and around schools full of immigrant children. I am profoundly grateful for how immigration has shaped—and is shaping—the United States.
My life is fuller, richer and better for having so many diverse newcomers in it. These kids aren’t scary. They’re every bit as brilliant and funny and charming as my White, native-born kids. They care about the promise of America.
Here they are in this Academia Alonso classroom, talking to their native-born U.S. peers, learning English and teaching Spanish. Here they are, being who and what they are: children, just like any other children.
They’re curious and sociable most of the time, and they master things and get bored faster than adults might expect. They’re interesting and profound, earnest and ambitious, clever and naive.
Yes, these are the kids roiling—and being terrorized by—American public discourse in 2018 (and for some time before now). “It’s the spirit, the morale, that’s suffering,” says head of school José Aviles.
“It’s been a nightmare,” he sighed, when I asked about the effects of the 2016 election. “Even though the school setting is happy and safe—it affects all of us.
“We’ve been helping families through the deportation process. It’s painful. It’s a shame—a nation like this, with the multiculturalism that’s so big, so beautiful, it’s what makes America so special.”
Seeking UNIDOS
Diversity sets Academia Antonia Alonso apart as well. The school takes a broad-minded view of education. “It’s not only the language, it’s the culture,” says Aviles. “We don’t focus on academics only. Character development is a priority.”
Specifically, character education is organized around the school’s “UNIDOS” values: Unity, Never Give Up, Integrity, Discovery, Ownership and Self-Discipline. These are plastered on banners on the wall, included in morning announcements and integrated into academic units.
Students split their days between Spanish and English lessons, and learn capoeira—a blend of dance and martial arts from Brazil.
“We want to make sure we’re creating thinkers and leaders in the school,” says Aviles, whose own children are also enrolled.
Of course, as I wandered around, there were multilingual folks everywhere. But no one threatened me in the hallway. No one glared when I garbled a question in Spanish and screwed up the grammar. No one rolled their eyes when I defaulted to English during a conversation with a teacher.
To the contrary, the school was clamorous—not too loud, perhaps one notch more bubbly than the norm. Students in another classroom I visited were already deep into a project, heads huddling close, murmurs periodically interrupted with the sing-songy squeals of kids’ mental gears engaging. It was, in other words, simply another diverse, happy American public school.
And, of course, they’re just kids. They don’t yet know who they are or precisely how they fit into the United States, but they’re perceptive, and they’re watching for clues from the rest of us. When loud American voices yell that these children’s languages, their cultures, their (entirely coincidental) places of birth are ruining the United States, these kids hear it all.
Fears Are Not Realities
What is it that bothers people—especially my fellow White, native-born American people—so much about neighbors who happened to be born somewhere else, who may look or sound differently?
Well, many voters supported Donald Trump’s run for president because they felt that something had gone awry with American culture. A Public Research Religion Institute survey found that “White working-class voters who say they often feel like a stranger in their own land and who believe the U.S. needs protecting against foreign influence were 3.5 times more likely to favor Trump.”
More than half of the survey’s voters believe that White Americans are as likely to face discrimination as non-White Americans.
The English language often stands in as a proxy here, and it’s long been a concern for conservatives. While running for the Republican Party’s 1996 presidential nomination, Sen. Bob Dole said, “With all the divisive forces tearing at our country, we need the glue of language to help hold us together. If we want to ensure that all our children have the same opportunities in life, alternative language education should stop and English should be acknowledged once and for all as the official language of the United States.”
Odd as it seems to cheerful multiculturalists like me, there’s something to this anxiety. Sure, some of it boils down to straight bigotry, to folks who are just instinctively afraid of diversity. That’s difficult to overcome one-on-one, and impossible to reverse (quickly) at a national scale.
But some White, native-born Americans’ fears are at least partly a product of their views around cultural solidarity. They reflect—correctly, I think—on their lives in a democratic community, and worry that it can’t continue without a thick set of shared beliefs.
It’s easier to work on the shared problems in our neighborhoods, towns, states and country if we all share some common convictions about what we want out of our lives together. If that’s a dominant part of how you see the world, multiculturalism can seem like a threat.
Fortunately, seeming is not being. Fears are not realities.
And even if we wished it, the American multicultural experiment isn’t going away. Notwithstanding large public debates about DACA recipients and recently arrived adult immigrants, the primary drivers of American pluralism are mostly young, native-born American children with immigrant-origin parents.
Children of immigrants make up a large and growing share of the American student body. They’re a big part of the the future of the American workforce. Research shows that immigrants make great neighbors. In his “There Goes the Neighborhood,” immigrant advocate Ali Noorani tallies up the facts:
Undocumented immigrants pay $11.6 billion in local and state taxes each year. Immigrants live an average of 3.4 years longer than native-born Americans, are less likely to develop obesity, alcoholism and depression, and are less likely to die from cardiovascular diseases or cancer. Young immigrant men (ages 18 to 39) are sent to jail at roughly half the rate of native-born men of the same age. And immigrant communities experience significantly less crime than predominantly native-born neighborhoods.
Look, if we should be afraid of anything, it’s that the fury of our current politics will somehow mess immigrant families up.
What if our intolerance inadvertently creates the detached immigrant cultures some Americans fear? Today’s children of immigrants see White supremacists feted by our political leaders. They hear people of their ethnicities denigrated by those same people. They watch their communities being targeted by armed members of the state. I shudder to imagine the lessons they’re learning from the daily brutality of American public life in 2018.
Would they be wrong to become embittered? Can we credibly feign surprise if they give up on bedrock American institutions?
Diversity in the Grocery Aisle
One of the last stores along the Lancaster Pike before you turn into the office park housing Academia Antonia Alonso is the 7 Day Farmers Market.
On my way back to D.C., I stopped in to grab a snack and was astonished to find that this was no ordinary grocery store. The shelves were stocked with food spanning the spectrum of culinary imagination: anything from breadfruit to Bombay Bhel Puri to jocotes to what must have been few million distinct types of rice. This is a market for the world, for the full range of diverse American palates.
And then something caught my ear. There, on the speakers, was Blake Shelton, singing a Christmas duet with Kelly Clarkson.
As they crooned about “the new kid in town…lying in a manger down the road,” I couldn’t help but feel a rush of optimism. This was encouraging—American country music (Christmas-infused, no less) in a multicultural supermarket, wafting equally over the woman in the hijab surveying the meat section and me, the dorky White guy with bad posture.
We don’t have to choose between diversity and who we are as a nation, between our growing pluralism and our united solidarity. As bad as things seem in Washington or out there on Twitter, perhaps this big, messy, diverse American experiment might just work out after all.

Reading Cities and Signs 1 produced a feeling in me similar to a feeling I had while back in Nashville over Christmas. The city itself has been hidden beneath the layers and layers of “hey look at me here” and “this is what you expected, right?”. A town that has evolved into one giant snapchat filter or Instagram tag. Our uncomfortable reaction of oversharing built into the very stone that holds our spray paint canvas. Leaving into the great big country causes one to wonder if the town on the river was some sort of mirage produced from the memory of a place that no longer exists
Italo Calvino : Invisible Cities
CITIES & SIGNS 1
You walk for days among trees and among stones.
Rarely does the eye light on a thing, and then only when it has recognized that thing as the sign of another thing: a print in the sand indicates the tiger's passage; a marsh announces a vein of water; the hibiscus flower, the end of winter. All the rest is silent and interchangeable; trees and stones are only what they are.
Finally the journey leads to the city of TAMARA.
You penetrate it along streets thick with signboards jutting from the walls. The eye does not see things but images of things that mean other things: pincers point out the tooth-drawer's house; a tankard, the tavern; halberds, the barracks; scales, the grocer's. Statues and shields depict lions, dolphins, towers, stars: a sign that something-- who knows what?--has as its sign a lion or a dolphin or a tower or a star. Other signals warn of what is forbidden in a given place (to enter the alley with wagons, to urinate behind the kiosk, to fish with your pole from the bridge) and what is allowed (watering zebras, playing bowls, burning relatives' corpses). From the doors of the temples the gods' statues are seen, each portrayed with his attributes--the cornucopia, the hourglass, the medusa--so that the worshipper can recognize them and address his prayers correctly. If a building has no signboard or figure, its very form and the position it occupies in the city's order suffice to indicate its function: the palace, the prison, the mint, the Pythagorean school, the brothel. The wares, too, which the vendors display on their stalls are valuable not in themselves but as signs of other things: the embroidered headband stands for elegance; the gilded palanquin, power; the volumes of Averroes, learning; the ankle bracelet, voluptuousness. Your gaze scans the streets as if they were written pages: the city says everything you must think, makes you repeat her discourse, and while you believe you are visiting Tamara you are only recording the names with which she defines herself and all her parts. However the city may really be, beneath this thick coating of signs, whatever it may contain or conceal, you leave Tamara without having discovered it.
Outside, the land stretches, empty, to the horizon; the sky opens, with speeding clouds.
In the shape that chance and wind give the clouds, you are already intent on recognizing figures: a sailing ship, a hand, an elephant...

JBL Quantum 600 Gaming Headphones Detailed Review
Value: Rs. 12,999
Pros
Agreeable, great looks
Very much tuned for gaming
Stable, idleness free remote network
Excellent amplifier
Customizable RGB lights and sound
Cons
Normal battery life
Remote network doesn't take a shot at all stages
Quantum Engine application works just on Windows
Volume is somewhat delicate when utilizing 3.5mm availability
Evaluations (out of 5)
Configuration/comfort: 4.5
Sound quality: 4
Battery life: 3
Incentive for cash: 4
