Sometimes I think about how much objective vitriol that people sent towards Man of Steel and Henry Cavill's Superman and all I can wonder is... that's hope? The people who believe Superman should be optimistic spend their time screaming their lungs out about a version of superman and focusing on how much they hate it or how "wrong" it is when the one they want is already made? I don't understand.

This is the irony I could never understand. These people who call themselves superhero fans have nothing in common with their favorite characters. They don't stand for same ideas and ideals. All they do is spend their time on anger, hatred and toxicity towards other fans of superheroes who happened to like different version of the same superhero, even though the core of the character was left untouched. People are stupid that way unfortunately.

How do you like a theory that Batman Returns BatCat will be made into Huntress' parents from TV show?

Let’s not count our chickens before they hatch. The authenticity of that image has not been verified yet, so it should be taken with a grain of salt. At least until we get more information.

I don’t know what they’re plans are for the event beyond that Helena Wayne will be making an appearance, as she does in the comic book. Supposing the image is legitimate and that Bruce and Selina are/were married that would mean that they are changing Helena’s Birds of Prey backstory (for the better). On the show Bruce and Selina weren’t married and Bruce didn’t even know that Helena was his daughter. Helena did not have a relationship with Bruce and she went by her mother’s last name.

I guess anything could’ve happened between Bruce and Selina becoming engaged to would lead to it not happening and resulting with Bruce not being in Helena’s life, but I think a more reasonable theory would be that they could be changing that relationship so that it resembles her Earth-2 origin story. Again; Helena is in the Crisis comic so that would make sense. 

I can’t say that this is going to be specifically Batman Returns batcat because we don’t know anything about the event right now, but I would say probably not, but who knows. It could be a re-imagining where Bruce and Selina are reunited after the events at the end of the movie. However, the newspaper headline says that Selina is a socialite. In Batman Returns she isn’t a socialite; she’s a secretary- sorry - Executive Assistance.

It’s always been pretty clear from the infinitesimal amount of batcat that we saw on Birds of Prey that the show was heavily inspired by Batman Returns.

This is as much as we saw of them in the series.

My guess would be since the multiverse is all about playing along the lines of canon, rather than being directly canonical, that it would be something a batcat that is inspired by Batman Returns. Of course this is all just conjecture and we’ll have to wait until more information becomes available before saying anything definitively.

I never understood the appeal and hype of NaruSaku, IchiRuki and Clerith

Me neither. I didn't even knew those exist until I got into the whole shipping thing. Back then I just enjoyed the stories of Naruto, Bleach and Final Fantasy VII. I just happened to naturally like the couples that authors have intended from the beginning. I'm just glad those writers didn't backstabbed me with the endgames. I had my fair share of those already.

I guess I can see why people would like those pairings, but that kind of dynamic is just not my cup of tea. Never will be.

The best thing DC could do is to call a series Superwoman and just write about Lois Lane, because she is superwoman, super powers or not. Or give it a start with Clark giving her his powers for 24 hours like All-Star Superman to share his world with her on a literal level and then afterwards show how she accomplishes all same stuff without these powers, but with a better understanding of Superman's world, that it's not super powers that makes him, but his personality and dedication first of all.

Do you think by the end of BvS Clark and Lois might be expecting a baby? Cause lots of parts in MoS hinted at it, theme about been natural born child. The scene where Jor-El points at Lois direction after telling Kal-El this "We wanted you to learn what it meant to be human first, so that one day when the time is right, you could be the bridge between two peoples. Look..." and Kal goes "Lois". Then in bonus material on Blu-Ray Russel Crowe says that in that scene Jor-El literally meant...

.. He meant this (a quote from Blu-Ray extras): "He is also really telling his son that you are a god and you have a power to create race in the future, partially human, partially kryptonian, but hopefully, completely ideologically sound, and get beyond the mistakes made in Krypton in terms of where the planet ended up". All of that during the footage of that scene where Jor-El points at Lois. Also recently in comics there is a lot of Clois family thematic issues starting with Convergence. 

Not to mention this entire codex thing which was used to create artificial kryptonians, but now that the codex of entire race is in Kal-El, the way how he can continue his legacy and begin a union of two peoples is start his own family, something his biological parents wanted him to do, I think. As Lara said "Make a better world than ours".

Well, I may not be the best person to answer this because I really hated Man of Steel. Like, REALLY hated it. So. Very. Much. So I haven’t really analyzed its themes because every time I go to discuss the movie, I get distracted by just...so much hate.

But, trying to put that aside for your question because it is an interesting one...I think the answer will have less to do than the thematic story. The question will likely have more to do with what they want to do with Superman and - perhaps more importantly - Lois. And the timeframe, not just externally (the years of release) but more importantly internally (the timeframe the movies are intended to be set in).

The thing is, I don’t think that superhero stories tend to be that interested in superheroes as parents. Hawkeye was shown to be a father in AoU, but that was less to really explore Hawkeye-as-dad as to set him up as a paternal figure for the twins, give the movie that familial grounding and give him something to lose, etc. Superman changing diapers and helping put a child to bed, etc? Not really the kind of story they seem to enjoy telling. So would they lock themselves into that story? I doubt it. So if they did end the movie with them expecting a baby, I think that’d mean we’d get less of Lois in the next movie (I’m sure they’d expect a little puritanical-ness at the thought of a pregnant woman putting her life on the line, even if it’s the Baby of Steel she’s carrying). Which, if the next movie is Justice League, wouldn’t be a surprise. But it might also mean less of her after that, depending on the timeline - and what lessons they took from people railing against Lois taking Jason with her to investigate a story in Superman Returns.

I also suspect post-DC-Flashpoint (coming up this summer), we won’t have Lois and Clark as parents in the regular books, but all books will be moving towards the classic and iconic OTPs. So, goodbye to Jonathan and Lois and Clark moving towards dating or start dating, that sort of thing.

It just seems that, in movies but even in comics, they don’t seem terribly interested in telling stories of superheroes as parents in the long-term. They like paternal dynamics - like Batman and Robin - but generally not “We have an infant and it’s your turn to change the diapers” age. Which, if Lois was to end the movie pregnant and the next movies don’t have a time jump of 5-7 years, would put the baby in that Danger Zone they don’t like the deal with.

So I’d be more inclined to say they won’t want to go there in this movie...unless they’re planning on putting Lois on the backburner and minimize Superman’s personal life for a little while. Which, if they’re going to focus more on Justice League after this, is certainly possible. I guess I’ll say I think it’s unlikely (because I don’t think they’ll want to have that a story they’ll need to deal with in future movies) but it’s not impossible.

Yeah, but iall the speeches about DNA, evolution, what matters in parenting the most might be just for the morality of the story, but Sarada will appear to be Sakura's biological daughter. Still, I can't help but see that older Karin in Suigetsu's flashback looks hella lot like Sarada =( I still can't understand why Kishi gave to 4 out of 5 families "they lived happily ever after" and choose Sakura as a black sheep. Just ridiculous.

Yes it could and is very possible. But that would still lessen the impact on Sakura's speech.Well... Sakura seems like she's okay with the arrangement.

Thoughts on Robstar and Johnzee

Honestly had to google first one. I'm a DickBabs person, so no comment on Robstar, sorry. I'm not a multishipper, I also don't believe in polyamory. So all this mix-mash stuff with characters is not for me. I'm a loyalist, so if I have an OTP I can never see those two characters with somebody else or share themselves with third parties, that's disgusting for me. Nothing personal, it's my problem. I know Dick and Kory has a lot of fans, but I got to know DickBabs first and I don't jump ships if I already got strongly attached to one.

Johnzee are adorable. There's nothing I like more than characters sharing something in common and I believe John and Zatanna share their passion for magic. It is also ironic how they are another couple with blonde man and dark haired woman, it's like I have a type (Cloud and Tifa, Naruto and Hinata, Loid and Yor). If they wanted to, they could be most powerful couple in DC Universe, there isn't much than can beat magic.

Bruce has never even been seen wearing a ring. I don’t think he even has one. I’ve been a big proponent of marriage not being inherently oppressive but this whole Selina-needs-to-advertise-her-marital-status-at-all-times-lest-we-assume-something-nefarious-is-at-play, I’m not with it.
