Kings of Unification

Not only did his friends manage to plan an entire party behind his back... his beloved Almyran King gave him the best gift he could have ever asked for.

“You’re Majesty?”

Dimitri turned from his spot on the balcony to face the doors, a soft smile on his face when eyes fell upon Deude and Ashe. “Dedue, Ashe. To what do I owe the pleasure?”

Ashe gave him a bright smile, bundled up in a coat as well as his large husband’s scarf. “Well, you have been so busy recently and I don’t think I’ve seen you slow down at all! So, now that you have a moment to breathe, Dedue and I wanted to do something for you. We made some sweets and tea… would you care to join us?”

“How very kind. Thank you. Both of you. I will be in soon so that I may enjoy them.” Dimitri responded, though he seemed to be sort of out of it. He turned back out to face the cityscape of Fhirdiad, a longing sigh escaping his mouth. His attention was focused somewhere else. Somewhere far away and likely a lot warmer.

“Your thoughts are with him again, I presume?” Dedue asked, concern coming to his face to see the king so distant.

“Yes, Dedue.” Dimitri glanced back over his shoulder with a sort of sad smile. “It is selfish of me really. I know he is a busy man and that this one day matters very little in the grand scheme of things… but I do miss him terribly.”

“Matters little?” Ashe squeaked, quickly shaking his head rather quickly. He gave a quick glance to Dedue, trying not to let anything else show on his face, though a small smirk did sneak into his expression. “I wouldn’t say your birthday matters so little. You know he would not be happy to hear you talk like that!”

“Yes. Very true.” Dimitri agreed, amusement in his tone. “Something along the lines of my birthday being one of his favorite days merely because I exist, or some such charming drivel.”

Dedue cleared his throat, forcing himself to maintain his normal stoic expression. “I am sure he would also rather the King of Fodlan not catch a cold staring off into the night sky so forlornly.”

The king’s head dropped slightly and he gave a soft chuckle. “Oh, he would certainly have a fit if I did. Very well.” He moved away from the balcony and over toward his friends. “Lead the way. I am sure these treats you made are fantastic as always..” He never noticed the excited look the two shared as they lead him away, nor did he notice where they were taking him, still half lost in thoughts of his beloved. He only really snapped back into reality when he ran into Dedue, who had stopped at the ballroom doors. “So sorry, I…” Now he realized where they were. A look of confusion crossed his face as he looked between Dedue and Ashe, who now where both wearing bright smiles upon their faces. “I’m sorry. Have I missed something? Why are we here?” The two didn’t answer him outright, instead deciding to show him. They pushed the doors open, revealing many of the friendly faces he had grown to love over the years.

“Happy Birthday!” They all cheered when he walked into the middle of the room , some referring to him by name, others by title… and one calling him, rather affectionately, Boar King.

“How... “ He started, having no idea how they had managed to pull all this off without him having noticed. This was quite the party to have slipped by him. However, he soon decided that it didn’t matter. He was just happy beyond belief that they would do something like this for him. “Thank you, my friends! I…” The thought trailed off as a tear fell down his cheek.

“If you are going to get soft on us, Boar, I’m leaving.” Felix huffed, though the smile on his face made it clear it was a joke.

“Felix!” Ingrid scowled at the swordsman. “Show some respect on his birthday by referring to him properly! Just for one day!”

“It’s alright Ingrid.” Dimitri assured, wiping his face. “If he did not call me such, I would wonder if I had upset him.” Felix seemed pleased with himself, while Ingrid just gave a hesitant bow and went back to her conversation with Mercedes. Dimitri just smiled and started to go socialize with his friends… but he was stopped by Ashe, who hurried over to stand in front of him.

“Ah one more thing, Your Majesty. There is a present for you.”

“A present?” Dimitri echoed, sounding a bit bewildered. “A gift wasn’t necessary, Ashe I-”

“Not necessary, my love?” A new voice teased dramatically from behind him. “I see how it is.”

Dimitri turned around quickly, wide-eyed and shocked, to see the very man that had been on his mind all night. “C-Claude!”

“Happy birthday, Dimitri.” The brunette said, a softness coming to his tone to match the loving smile upon his face. A squeak of surprise followed by laughter filled the room as the king suddenly lifted and spun him around like in one of those cheesy romance movies. Not that he minded, he actually enjoyed the cliche of it all. Once Dimitri had sat him down and he regained his bearings, he smirked. “Pretty great gift, right?”

“The best.” Dimitri agreed, voice cracking as he teared up again and hugged him tightly. “Goddess how I’ve missed you..”

“I know… I was gone for too long. Even Almyra is a cold place without you by my side.”

“If you two are done being sickening… there are other people here…” The couple turned to look at Felix, who now was dealing was the nonverbal wrath of Ingrid. Claude just laughed and shook his head.

“Sorry Felix, Not quite done. One more thing.” He turned back toward Dimitri, clearing his throat all dramatically. “King Dimitri Alexandre Blaiddyd. I, King Claude von Riegan of Almyra, come to you with a proposition. One that will be of benefit to both of our countries.”

“Oh?” Dimitri chimed inquisitively, trying not to laugh at Claude’s theatrics.

“Oh yes. Well. Ok, maybe not a proposition…” He trailed off slightly, reaching into his pocket as he spoke. Gently he took hold of Dimitri’s hand and took a knee, smiling up at him when the look of shock hit the blonde’s face. “It’s more of a proposal.”

“C-Claude??”

“Oh brother…” Felix grumbled and started to leave, only to be grabbed by the back of the collar and yanked back by, to no one’s surprise, Ingrid.

Claude just let out a soft laugh, trying not to get too distracted as he put his focus back on the king before him. "Dimitri… I didn't fall in love with you. I walked into love with you, with my eyes wide open, choosing to take every step along the way. I do believe in fate and destiny...but I also believe we are only fated to do the things that we'd choose anyway...and I'd choose you...in a hundred lifetimes...in a hundred worlds...in any version of reality...I'd find you and I'd choose you." He stopped to take a breath. He wasn’t sure if it was warm in here or if it was just the nerves getting to him, but he pressed on, never losing the smile on his face. “I know I’ve spent a lot of time away from you… and unfortunately when morning comes, I’ll have to leave for just a little bit longer. But when I return, I want to finally be with you for the rest of my life, if you’ll have me. So… what do you say, Dimitri? Will you marry me?”

Dimitri was speechless at first, completely floored by the rather beautiful proposal, so much so that he nearly forgot he was actually supposed to give an answer. “I-I… yes! Yes, of course!”

Claude heaved a rather exaggerated sigh and slipped the ring on Dimitri’s hand. “You had me worried for a moment.”

“As if I would turn you down.”

“True, True. I am, as you said, your favorite gift~”

“I said you were the best gift.”

“Whatever.” Claude hopped to his feet and faced the crowd. “Now we have twice the cause for celebration!” Dedue came over with a glass for them both, which the Almyran king took and promptly raised in the air. “A toast! To the king on the day of his birth! And to his new engagement~”

“To the king!” Everyone cheered. Well. Almost everyone.

“Congrats, Boar. Thought it would never end…”

Everyone just rolled their eyes and slow went back to chatting and having a good time. Just before they went to join the merriment, Dimitri gave Claude’s hand a squeeze. “I love you…”

“I love you too, your royalness~. Now come on,” Claude brought their hands up so he could kiss his fiance’s before dragging him towards the group, “don’t want them to start the real fun without us~”

Donut Backstory

A very interesting backstory! Lots of stuff on Fallen Angels and Tierra!

I. Pursuit

“May God forgive our sins.”

I stand in the chapel, silent in prayer, head raised to gaze upon the Goddess’ statue.

The statue is deformed, her hands meant to hold a bouquet of flowers are now mere fragmented debris below her.

The hall is a mess, broken pews strewn about.

Once a holy place for devotees to hear the gospel, now mere deserted ruins are left to us.

The evening sunlight sets through the cracks in the wall.

Reminding me that the day is done.

The hunt has been going on for seven days.

“Holy Lady.”

An elderly voice accompanied by the clanging of metal stops my train of thought.

A head of silvery-white hair, his aged figure clad in knight’s armor bows respectfully.

“Embry, how’s the situation?”

I pause my prayer and ask nonchalantly.

No matter what chaos presents itself before me, I must always remain calm.

The Holy Lady of God’s Council must not wear her heart on her sleeve like the common girl.

“All the survivors have been settled, the others are looking for more clues nearby.”

“Good work.”

I nod in approval, preparing to give them new orders.

“Moving on…”

Suddenly, a deafening roar echoes through the chapel from far away.

A bright light shines from the forest, accompanied by billowing smoke.

The smoke clears, revealing a huge cross formed by light in the sky.

“Pretzel…”

Recognising the danger, my hands reach for my blade and my bible.

Fallen Angel attack? No… Can’t ignore the possibility of him stirring up trouble on purpose either.

That was far too dramatic a performance, but Pretzel isn’t part of the Council either, so he can’t be managed…

“Holy Lady?”

Embry’s words snap me back to reality.

He lowers his face, sword drawn and standing guard by me.

Without acting rashly, he stood with his face earnest, seeking a command from me.

I quickly assessed the situation and responded.

“Onwards!”

Just as we were about to set off.

A figure leaps from the surrounding debris, blocking our path.

The figure is a familiar one.

The old knight’s face stiffened, growling at the newcomer.

“You dare show your face again? You filthy heathen.”

II. Heathen

The azure glint of a blade flashes past.

Sword still raised, the old knight grunted and staggered backwards.

“You have no part in this, Embry.”

The intruder swung his blade around, tone cold.

Exposed to the air, translucent blue arms are encircled by cold flames.

Painfully obvious to any experienced Master Attendant or Food Soul, that would be the signature trait unique to the Nevras Broken Blade Tribe.

Not having time to check up on the old knight, the best I could do was softly order him to retreat.

Facing this enemy, I have to give it my all.

Sword promptly drawn, the bible in my hand rustling even without a draft.

“Sheath your blade, Holy Lady.”

Seeing my actions, the intruder became annoyed.

“I’m here to discuss something, I bear no ill will.”

“I have nothing to discuss with the likes of you.”

The bible begins glowing as I fully enter battle mode.

“We can talk about it! We can!”

The intruder lets out a unintelligible growl, as if he couldn’t hold it in anymore.

“Embry’s gone, the others are battling with my comrades, we can discuss! Holy Lady, we can discuss it!”

“Your comrades?”

I acutely grasp the keyword of that sentence.

“Yes, my comrades, I led them here.”

The intruder clapped twice, and a Forker scurries out from the debris, sitting by his side tamely.

It’s a common parasitic Fallen Angel found in Nevras.

“Look, they won’t attack me, nor reject me.”

The intruder’s voice softened as he gently scratched the Forker’s head.

“I’m in the right, Holy Lady, I’m in the right.”

“You’re in the right?”

My lips unconsciously pursed.

“You’re saying, your running around, wreaking havoc on civilians with Fallen Angels is right?”

The intruder stiffened, backing off slightly.

All the while I pushed forward, sword raised.

“You’re saying, your turning from a holy knight of God’s Council into this freakish, monstrous, devilish being is right?”

He opened his mouth, ready to argue.

Yet his words were caught in his throat, and not a sound came.

A breeze whiffed past, rustling the clothing scraps on his arms.

Under the evening sun, the crystallised cross sear is especially striking.

III. Crossing Blades

Glimmering lights flare out from the bible, encasing my blade, and my preparations are ready.

“If you have even a shred of knight’s honour left, then raise your weapon!”

Before the silent figure, I berate loudly.

It’s just like the very beginning, when I taught them in the training halls.

“Knight’s? Hahahahah!”

As if being excited by my words, the intruder let out a crooked laugh.

“What a ridiculous claim, just like this wretched chapel!”

He lowered his face, and the crystallised right half of his body burst into cold flames.

Lighting his blade aflame, he sunk it into his right arm.

The crystallised searing clinked onto the ground.

“Holy Lady, I thought you’d be able to understand.”

“Apologies, there’s no way I’ll sympathise with your twisted way of thinking.”

Sword thrust forwards, soul power flaring as it flew towards the enemy like a bullet.

“What’s twisted isn’t me, it’s God’s Council, it’s the HUMANS!!!”

He roared, sprinting towards me.

Broken blade in his grip easily ripping apart the light before him.

“By God’s word, may the flames of purity burn away sin, and bring peace to humanity.”

Calmly stepping backwards, I raised my bible, light streaming from the pages forming a magical array before me.

Clanging rings through the air, our weapons clashing again and again.

“You’re all WRONG! All of you!”

Scowling at the crazed figure before me, my brows knit tight.

I was ready to summon an array to destroy him, yet was stopped short by his next sentence.

“I heard the voice of God! God chose not humans, but Fallen Angels! Fallen Angels!”

“I’m in the right!!!”

IV. Fallen Angels and Us

“Huff…”

Patting out the dirt on my clothes, I sheath my sword and let out a long sigh.

The intruder was bound by rings of light, restrained to the ground yet constantly struggling.

“You won’t be getting out of that.”

I squatted down, looking at his face.

His once handsome and attractive features are now gone.

This twisted, ugly appearance was what replaced it.

Pitch black and azure threads criss-crossed across his face like scars.

Pupils gone, empty eyes remain, flashing blue at times.

All that remains that is familiar to me is but the tattoo on his forehead.

Lines running over his face, leaving only it untouched.

It was done for him by Embry.

“Speak, what’s this about God’s voice?”

I gripped his bangs, raising his head to face me.

“Holy… Lady…”

Words left his mouth in intermittent croaks, and his features relaxed as he looked at me.

Perhaps it was my imagination, but for just a moment it looked like his eyes cleared up.

“We… were wrong…”

“What do you mean?”

My brows creased, inquiring him to elaborate.

“Food Souls… aren’t… blessings… from God…”

“Fallen Angels… are the… true… vessels of God…”

As he spoke, he lurched and coughed heartily, seeming to have cleared up his throat.

“I felt it when I absorbed it into my body…”

“Urk… I heard God’s decree…”

“God desires… the end of humanity…”

“It’s the truth…”

“Holy Lady… you know it…”

“There’s too much that’s suspicious with this world…”

“Do you still remember that experiment report I did?”

“Food Souls and Fallen Angels, they’re fundamentally the same…”

The pursuit operation has ended after spanning seven days.

Under the morning sun of the eighth day, we set off for home.

“Embry.”

Astride my steed, I beckoned for the adjutant beside me.

The old knight turns to face me, hands wrapped in bandages.

“Do you think that the teachings are right?”

I asked softly, pushed by whatever state of mind I was in.

“God protects humanity, and bestowed upon them Food Souls to teach them right from wrong, to lead them to prosperity.”

Not giving a straight answer, Embry began quoting from the gospel.

“Yes, we can differentiate right from wrong, we bestow upon you knowledge, and lead you to prosperity.”

I muttered it like a mantra, the unrest in my heart from the previous discussion completely diminished.

I pushed forwards on my steed.

Tucking that unspeakable sentence in the depths of my heart.

If God does not love humanity, we will teach Him to.

V. Donut

God’s Council is a religious organisation widely distributed across the lands of Tierra, and they worship the only god of this world, Tierra.

God’s Council believes that Food Souls are a blessing bestowed upon humanity by Tierra.

Joined hand in hand, Master Attendants and Food Souls should spread kindness and love throughout the world.

This belief is widely accepted by the people.

For not everyone can become a Master Attendant, and there are places that do not receive the protection of Food Souls.

God’s Council’s beliefs and actions no doubt give the people hope of peace in this chaotic world overrun by Fallen Angels.

The founder of God’s Council was a Master Attendant as well.

His Food Soul, Donut, takes on the duty of Holy Lady and leads the armed forces, God’s Army.

The duty of God’s Army is not to spread devotion through force, rather to enforce public order.

The ones that actually face the Fallen Angels are the centerpiece of God’s Army, a group of Food Souls led directly by Donut.

They battle Fallen Angels, protect civilians, spread knowledge and deliver resources.

All of this should progress in an orderly fashion.

But the unexpected occurrences in mundane life cannot be prevented.

There was a member of God’s Army who was an avid researcher.

He believed that to rid the world of Fallen Angels, one must first understand them.

As his research progressed, he uncovered secrets.

Secrets… that should be kept from everyone, be it Fallen Angels, Food Souls or Humans.

His research drove him insane.

Finally, he came up with a daring idea.

He absorbed essence extracted from Fallen Angel remains into his own body, to experience, to understand their existence.

His target was the legends of Spectra, rumored to once have been a famous chef, as well as the possibly once-human Specter.

After that, he became an apostate.

Then became a wanted criminal, whom Donut led a hunt for.

She rushed to her room and closed it,then went back to her creation. As soon as she met the two wires inside the small glass ball,small sparks flew,then a constant dim light illuminated the room,much to her excitement. Just as she started cheering happily,she heard clapping. In the doorway stood Haytham,leaning on the frame,looking interested and fascinated at the light in front of him. Haytham:New world,new light,I see? Y/N:It's nothing new.It just needed a little push. Haytham:And you are the one who did it. Y/N:Well spotted,genius. Haytham:Have you ever tried to sell your inventions? Y/N:I've been selling them and the patterns to the Queen.I suppose that's one of the reasons why we were specifically sent on this God Forsaken land. But just as she was about to strike back a snarky comment,the thin glass ball exploded because of the heat. Thankfully,she managed to shield her face soon enough,only getting her hand scratched.

Y/N:OH,FOR FUCK'S SAKE!THIS IS PREPOSTEROUS!CAN'T WE HAVE QUALITY THINGS ANYWHERE?!FUCKING AMERICA! Haytham:Are you hurt? Y/N:Physically,I'm fine.But my ego has been fatally wounded. Although it might seem like the girl hates his guts,his matching sass definitely piqued her interest,and unbeknownst to anyone,and especially not her own self,she was looking forward to their future encounter.

Unfortunately for her,Lee was getting gradually fed up with her lack of mannerism,and made a 'shrewd' plot. Requesting once again to dine together,he told her she was to marry a man of his choosing as soon as possible,or she'll lose her youth. Obviously,the girl protested and tried everything in her power to get out of this folly,he silenced her with a slap,and made her go back to her room. On her way there,she went past the same Kenway she once saw,but she was much too angry to pay him any mind. He,in turn,was awfully confused,but much to his dismay,he too was forced to marry,due to certain circumstances,old promises and favours. Marry Charles Lee's daughter.

The day of their marriage was dull and passed harder than a working day,and at night,after being told they have to consummate the marriage,the girl stood in the doorway,in her nightgown,trembling softly whilst staring hollowly at the bed in front of her. He knew she was scared. He knew this wasn't anything she wanted. He knew he wanted her to be happy. That's why he snapped his fingers in front of her and lead her to the kitchen,where he filled 2 glasses with alcohol.

Y/N:I...don't really... Haytham:You seem like you need it.Once in a lifetime doesn't hurt. Y/N:Drunk men are disgusting and repulsing.I don't want to be like that. Haytham:I'm the only one here.Don't worry,just trust in me.I care for you,despite everything that's been going on.

With her breathe hitched in her throat and desperation burning in her heart,she gripped the glass,guilty,and she gulped the whole liquid in one go. Haytham:Take it easy,you don't want to faint. Y/N:I'm at that point in life where I couldn't care less.I'm going to need a lot of booze to handle this shit. Haytham:*refills glass*By all means,drink away your sorrows. Y/N:Thanks...

The whole night,Haytham only slowly sipped one glass,observing the pitiful girl sob her pain away,trying incoherently to speak and resting her head on the table. After many glasses,she finally calmed down and fell asleep,and Mr.Kenway could only do one rational thing,and that was to carry the girl to the bed,tuck her in,then go sleep on the couch. The next day,she woke up to the smell of pancakes and maple syrup coming from the kitchen. Groggily,she got out of the bed and walked to the room,her head pounding from the hangover. There,she saw Haytham was cooking breakfast,and smiling gently,she hugged him from behind and rested her head on his back,muttering a soft greeting.

Haytham:Ah,good morning,sunshine. Y/N:The last thing I feel like is a sunshine,but sure. Haytham:*chuckles*Good to see your sense of humour is back.At least you're the sad type of drunk.That's much easier to cope with,out of all the types. Y/N:Well...that was embarrassing. Haytham:A once in a lifetime experience,you couldn't miss it. Y/N:I don't remember much from last night...and my head hurts... Haytham:I heard caffeine helps with hangovers. Y/N:Is that why you drink it every morning? Haytham:That,and to wake up. Y/N:I suppose the idea of waking up and knowing you have to see my father isn't exactly the most exciting thought. Haytham:I suppose your mother was rather gorgeous,for you sure as hell don't resemble him. Y/N:She had soft red hair and forest green eyes...and a personality to match her fire. Haytham:Are you sure your mother didn't have you alone? Y/N:*shrugs*Biologically speaking,it's impossible,but who knows?She might as well have been the new Virgin Mary,and I'm her Messiah. Haytham:Maybe that's why you're shining brighter than anyone. Y/N:And that's why I'll die at 33.It's fine,in 12 more years I'll have lived well.Twice I ate a citrus and thrice a berry. Haytham:*smirks*Better get ready soon,we have to leave for someplace nice Y/N:*raises an eyebrow*Where are we going? Haytham:Don't worry your pretty smart head over it.Oh,and,tomorrow your maid is going to come over. Y/N:You're taking Claire in? Haytham:Any lady needs a maid,doesn't she?

Biting her lip,she returned to her room and got ready in haste,thinking over and over about the man she has to live with. Perhaps she misjudged him because of her father's mistake. Mayhaps... She ought to trust him more.

And trust him she did,after the whole day he took her to the Apothecary to fill in her ingredients and liquids for her experiments,then went to a Science Conventions,where,to her surprise,Haytham brought her light-generating prototype,which got high praise from the physicists.

Days,weeks,months passed and as she enjoyed a hot bath,the sudden click of the door got her alert.

Looking at the reflection from the window,she saw Haytham with a gun to Claire's temple.

Y/N:It's rather rude to disturb a lady's bath,don't you think? Haytham:But is it rude to save her life? Claire:My lady,please,there is a misunderstanding! Y/N:*sighs*Honestly...You could at least fetch me my bathrobe.I don't fancy a one-sided naked conversation.

Locking the door behind them,Haytham took the robe from the chair and handed it to me,then returned to the maid. Raising from the water,the girl tied the robe around herself,put on her slippers,and turned to the duo,with a bright smile on her face.

Y/N:Explain. Claire:My lady,please,Mr.Kenway is trying to frame me!He's working with your father,I've overheard them! Y/N:Oh~?Well that's lovely,isn't it.Betrayed by my own husband? Claire:Yes,and I have proof!The poisons,my lady- Haytham:Ridiculous... Claire:I've found them in his room!Master Lee wanted to get rid of you,for not obeying his Templar order rules! Y/N:Oh,I see...well that would make a lot of sense.He did tolerate me for 21 years,I'm surprised he didn't go senile.Wait,nevermind,scratch that. Haytham:Amazing how you can still try an be funny when you were almost killed. Y/N:My death won't inconvenience anyone,so why should I care much? Claire:My lady,please,I've taken care of you since you were a child,do not say such morbid things!

The red-head blinked in annoyance and took the 3 small bottles from her maid,each holding a different poison. Smirking,she took all 3 of them,examined each of them,then giggled.

Y/N:Well,isn't this a hilarious turn of events...Can't say I wasn't expecting you to plot my death...But in such a cruel way...with my own poisons... Haytham:*shaking his head*Don't be ridiculous- Y/N:Shut up,Kenway. Haytham:You are technically a Kenway too,since our Wedding. Y/N:Oh,the joy.Jumping from one Templar home to another...didn't I say I didn't want to be bothered with your silly Order?You just can't seem to stop giving me problems.

He tried to talk,but he was quickly silenced by the pissed off girl,who turned away,rubbing her forehead in annoyance. Silence fell over the room,until the red-head's shoulders started shaking slightly,as she let soft sounds escape her mouth. At first,they thought she was sobbing,to which the maid was trying to run and comfort her,but was quickly held back by the Grandmaster. In fact,the girl was shaking,trying to stop her laughter. With the biggest grin,she showed them the 3 bottles,and pointed in turn to each of them. Y/N:We are 3 here,aren't we?All bound together by the threads of hope...Let's all drink a vial!This way,we'll have broken our fate!We'll be cheating the gods,and nobody will ever know who killed who!It's...the perfect crime! Claire:My lady...you're scaring me... Y/N:No need to be scared,love.It will all be over soon,I promise.There's no more sin in death. Haytham:Great,my wife is insane,how lovely. The maid shakily took the one with less pain,and Haytham took the one with moderate pain,leaving the robed girl with the quickest death. With one smirk,she urged the other 2 to 'Cheer' with her,and bottoms up they did- The girl immediately fell to her knees,choking and coughing,much to the other 2's alarm... Only to find her Laughing. Y/N:I...can't...even...!EVEN!Should've seen your faces!Haaaa....!! Claire:Wh-What is this...? Y/N:*snorts*What,you think I'm stupid enough to drink my own arsenics?Please... Claire:I...don't understand... Y/N:Of course you don't,dumbass!I changed the liquids in the poison bottles recently!What we all drank was simply fruit juice!Thankfully,Haytham took the cherry one,and I got the orange one.Don't tell me you didn't realize...? Haytham:*facepalms*So much show for a mummer's farçe... In the blink of an eye,the maid threw of the Templar and jumped on the smaller girl,slashing her face with a small sleeve dagger.

Claire:YOU KILLED HER,YOU TEMPLAR BITCH!IT WAS ALL YOUR FAULT!! Y/N:KILLED WHO?!I NEVER KILLED ANYONE! Claire:YOU KILLED YOUR MOTHER!IT WAS YOUR FAULT THAT LEE KILLED HER!THE MOMENT YOU WENT TO SNOOP AROUND IN HER ROOM AND FOUND HER NECKLACE...that's when she knew she was doomed...and Lee killed her...it's all your fault...YOUR FAULT!!You don't deserve to wear that necklace! Y/N:It's not my fault!She gave it to me!I never knew she was an assassin!I didn't even know what the symbol meant until now! Claire:Of course you didn't,you dumb,ignorant bitch!But Lee and his little puppets did!He killed his own wife!Executed in the very same room they made you! She brushed past her husband to go clean herself and change her clothes,then quickly left the house,going to the nearest forest to cool her head off. It was too much to take in. She knew there was something off about the way her father acted about her mother's death,but she had been way too young to understand what it meant. But now that she found out the truth,just before her almost-death experience,she wondered how much was truth and how much was lie from her attacker's words? She herself pretended to almost die due to the fake poisons,but was it the same thing? An innocent white lie and an act,opposed to real harm? The room that had been her mother's old study had been locked since then,and if she was correct,the key that Claire held in her possession,the one she easily stole and hid in her robe pocket,is the key that holds the truth,hidden away for 15 years. And that's exactly what she's going to do. Even if it costs her life... She'll risk it all. For her mother.

Sneaking into her room from outside has been an easy task,since she used to sneak away all the time,but going to the 'Forbidden Area' was going to be quite a challenge. Listening carefully to those in the house and the noises they made,she swiftly ran upstairs,unlocked the door,and locked it behind her,putting the key back in her pocket. With all the dust,it was obvious nobody has entered since the incident. She opened the window and started snooping around every shelf,drawer and letter existent,and what she found...wasn't much,actually. Then,she sat on the chair,put her hands on the desk,and started thinking. And thinking. And thinking. If she was her mother... Where'd she hide important information? Breaking the seal,she saw her mother's neat handwriting,and an Assassin necklace.

"If you're reading this,I'm most likely dead.Whatever happens,please don't blame yourself,since it's my own fault for getting in this awful situation,but having you has been my greatest realization. I know you are born in a Templar home,with a hidden Assassin (dead) mother,but if you can,please stay away from this war between the two factions. I once believed the two could work out their differences and unite against the greater evil,but I was dead wrong. Please,for the love that you bear me,do NOT attempt revenge against your father,and go as farther away from him as you can. Do not let him take over your life. You are free,my dear,please remain that way. Do not be shackled by the chains of fate,like I've been. Reading the letter hasn't been an easy task with the tears filling her eyes,but she managed,then put it back neatly inside the envelope,and pocketed it.

Squealing in surprise,the girl looked behind her,and saw Haytham leaning on the window effortlessly. She was scared. Scared enough to leap from her seat and go to the room,fumbling to find the key and unlock the door.

Haytham:Don't bother.If you go there,a worse evil will await you. Y/N:How...? Haytham:How did I know I'd find you here?The maid's words had quite the impact on you.It wasn't that difficult to imagine what your next move would be. Y/N:Very well,then.Go ahead and kill me.Find a petty excuse and continue living your life tied down to this Order. Haytham:Kill you?Oh,no,why would I kill you? Y/N:Don't pretend to care...It'd be impossible. Haytham:Believe what you want,but I'm not denying my care for you. Y/N:Then why are you here?You want to turn me in?Convert me? She unlocked the door and together,they made their way to Charles Lee's study room. Knocking softly,Haytham entered and chatted with him idly,as the girl listened through the door. Soon,the door opened,and Kenway lead her inside,where her father was bound on his chair,struggling. Lee:What is the meaning of this?! Y/N:*raises an eyebrow*Good question...?Haytham? Haytham:This is my gift for you.Or rather,this-. He took of the Hidden Blade from his right wrist,then set it on her arm,carefully,and told her how to use it. Haytham:Use it well. Y/N:N-No way... Haytham:Yes,way. Y/N:Ken-way! Haytham:*chuckles*Kenway,indeed. Lee:Kenway!What is the meaning of this?! Haytham:The Templars destroyed another life,one of an innocent child.That's not how the Order works,Charlie.Your policy is old-fashioned,we're at the end of the 18th century,for pity's sake! She approached her father,then glanced at her weapon,raised it to his temple and- Swish The blade penetrated his skull,killing him. Retracting the blade,she looked at the corpse of her father with an odd satisfaction on her face,the took a step back,taking in everything that's been happening. Haytham:Not much time to waste,we should make up an excuse.I'm the new leader of the Templar Order,Grandmaster Kenway. Y/N:GrandFather Kenway,the modest one,I believe? Haytham:Power hungry,perhaps? Y/N:I should thank you,huh? Haytham:Mayhaps.If you wish. Y/N:You needed an excuse to kill him and take the power and have revenge. Haytham:That too. Y/N:Is there another reason that I'm missing? Haytham:Honestly,woman,I indirectly confessed my love for you,but you just brushed me off.That's not very polite,now,is it? Y/N:Maybe next time,you'll say it directly and under more...normal circumstances. Haytham:With the positions we're stuck into,normal is the last thing I'm expecting us to be. Y/N:True...Truce? Haytham:Truce. They shook hands,and unexpectedly,she hugged him tightly,muttering a small 'Thank you'. The Templar was completely took off guard,but retaliated with a kiss on her head,and a protective embrace. They didn't need any words or factions,only themselves and their feelings,no longer afraid to admit them. Templar or Assassin,both or none,it mattered naught anymore. They were together and there were no more thorns in their sides. They were free. Together.

Another AU that I’ve been wrapped up in and no clue what I was doing, lol.

An AU combo of Demon (like) & Monarch (like) AU featuring my OC and Gabriel Reyes.

Queen!Kallista Kaines x Demon!Gabriel Reyes

Her footsteps were quick and with purpose, a disturbance within the castle at this hour could only mean one thing. Dressed in her thin sheer robe, Kallista quickly made her way through the small courtyard and into the mall hall of the castle, her grip on the handle of her ornate rapier as she made her way to the first set of doors that led to stairs, Kallista's icy blue eyes focused on one of her servants that quickly approached her. Night had fallen and blanketed the kingdom in darkness giving way to those who wish to challenge the sovereignty of the kingdom she ruled over.

"Your Highness!" the servant called out to her as she began to descend from the top of the stairs.

"Is it them?" Kallista asked as she walked past the servant down the stairs, the servant followed after her.

"Y-Yes!" The servant said as they followed after her, they were clearly out of breath.

"Where is Lyudmila? Is Prince Sebastian safe?" Kallista questioned.

"Knight Commander Dontsova is handling the assailants that came through the courtyard. And yes Prince Sebastian is safe," they replied as they attempted to catch their breath as they followed.

"The main corridor?" Kallista questioned.

"Lady Natalie and Lord Jesse diverted most of them but I'm afraid some of them may have penetrated through and are on their way to the throne room. Your Highness-"

"Perfect. They need a kind reminder on who they wish to overthrow," Kallista said as she continued her stride towards the throne room.

"Your Highness, please-! At least have decency when you confront them-!" the servant pleaded with the woman as she continued on her way. The servant took off their cloak to give to the woman. Begrudgingly she took the cloak and draped it over her shoulders as she pushed the large wooden doors open to the throne room.

"Decency you say? The wild beasts will receive no decency from me when I am through with them, " Kallista hissed.

Kallista continued towards her throne quickly, she hastily pushed opened the doors to the throne room and made her way over to the two thrones that sat empty. Kallista glanced at the empty throne next to hers, the throne of the late king that was, in short, dragged into the depths of hell. Kallista held steady, her head high as she took her rightful seat on the throne. Within moments the throne room door was thrown open followed by a group of dark-clothed men, Kallista crossed her legs as she laid the ornately decorated rapier across her lap and turned her attention to the men.

"Gentlemen. If you wanted to request a meeting with me, surely it could have waited until morning," Kallista began.

"Cut the coy act woman. The king has been dead for far too long, we are here to give way to a new king," the leader of the men spoke up. Kallista narrowed her sharp blue eyes at the men and smiled.

"A new king you say? The people have already chosen who they wish to rule," Kallista replied.

"Bullshit! We know that you have tainted their minds with your dark magic, you are the reason why the late king has fallen!" Another one of the men shouted.

"Is that what they are telling you?" Kallista laughed.

"You mock us?" the larger bulkier man hissed as he stepped forward

"I believe the people have different views than what you believe. But I will say that you are very, very brave to attack my home that I built with my late husband, to wake my son, all because you believe I shouldn't be in power. To believe that a woman cannot rule," Kallista began, her tone light, airy.

"Such behavior will not be tolerated," Kallista said as she stood, the white cloak sliding from her shoulders.

"A public execution would have been better for you harlot, but if you wish for death we will gladly give you sweet release," the bulkier of the men chuckled as he brandished his sword.

"Tanis. Please prepare a bath for me and oh make sure the prince is still sleeping. If he's awake, please give him cinnamon milk, it'll help him sleep better," Kallista started.

"Y-yes your Highness," Tanis said as they hesitantly ran off

Kallista slipped off her dark sheer robe and stepped forward towards the men.

"Come. My husband is quite hungry," Kallista said as she looked at her rapier.

"You bitch!" the man swung his sword horizontally, Kallista easily avoided the blade aimed for her head and lunged forward her rapier piercing the man's heart with one simple movement. The other men watched in shock at how easily she subdued him, the man dropped his meat cleaver sword and crumbled to his knees. Kallista pulled her rapier from the man and began to brutally shred the man's abdomen, blood coating her form as she continued mercilessly.

With a short grunt, Kallista kicked the man back with her bare feet.

"Come," Kallista said as she flicked the blood from the rapier, inky obsidian tendrils began to slither around Kallista as she slowly approached the men. Some of the men stepped back, horrified at what was forming behind the woman.

A dark misty humanoid figure, crimson slits for eyes, slimy, inky black tentacles twisted, turned, jerked behind her.

"Alright, then. We’ll come to you," Kallista replied as she darted towards the nearest man stunned with horror.

It was no more than 15 minutes after Tanis had left from her side and when they rushed back into the throne room, what they saw confused them.

"Your Highness?" Tanis said as they watched the thick, inky like smoke surround Kallista. The smoke itself seemed to wrap itself gently around the woman's body as if it caressed her before it seemed to dissipate. Anna turned around to find Lebedev, and her brow furrowed. She had told him sometime ago to drop the formalities (in fact, she was on a first name basis with most of the Collective and the New Sons) and he had complied almost immediately. Something was wrong.

She saw Garvin Quinn lingering at the exit of the tent, but before she could say anything, Lebedev shot him a glare that said he had nothing to do there anymore, and the man hurried out.

Something was definitely wrong.

“Sure.”

Silence.

“About anything in particular?”

“I’m sorry.” Lebedev took a few steps towards Anna, closing the distance between them. “I am generally better with words.”

Was it her or he looked flustered? “What’s wrong? You can tell...”

“I love you.” He blurted out, and one of his hands automatically grabbed Anna’s, in fear she would storm out.

“Then give me a reason. One. What could you possible love about me?” She could feel her eyes watering, and hated the fact she didn’t even have her sunglasses to hide behind.

“You are brave. You are strong. You are intelligent. You are beautiful.”

“Bullshit. Bullshit. Bullshit. Bullshit!” Anna spat back. “If I was intelligent I would still have my job. I’m weak and stupid and reckless. You know it, I know it, everybody knows it.” She shook a fist in the space between them, her sobriety coin between her fingers. “I keep fucking up over the same things, no matter how many times I try. I’m not even nice to look at: I’m flat, my hair is a mess...”

This was definitely not how he had expected the conversation to unfold. It was honestly a miracle that their argument had not already attracted the attention of the whole base.

Gently, he wrapped a hand around her fist. “A stupid person wouldn’t have uncovered one of the world’s deepest conspiracies.” He paused, taking a deep breath. “And, yes, you are reckless, impulsive and frustratingly stubborn so fucking much of the time. But you are definitely not weak. Otherwise you wouldn’t have survived what killed plenty of others.” Another pause. “And I could spend the rest of my life doing nothing but looking at you and it wouldn’t have been a waste.”

He kissed her fist and looked up at her. “I’m telling you I love you. All I want to know is if you will give me a chance.”

Anna looked at their hands. “Just how would this work? I’m a fugitive. We can’t be seen together.”

He placed another kiss to her fist. “We will figure it out. Plenty of people in here are technically fugitives, yet they have lives out there. After some time has passed, and things have settled, you can have a new identity. And we can see to stay close... if you want.”

Anna’s fist unclenched, and her fingers intertwined with his. She took a couple steps forward, closing the distance between them.

Did she want this? Should she have this?

After all, anything and anyone she loved, they could take from her. Fighting was so much easier when you had already lost everything.

She took his other hand in hers. He leaned down, resting his forehead on hers.

Finally, her lips reached out to his and they kissed. When they parted, Anna’s hands wrapped behind the back of his neck, Lebedev’s cusped her face. He brought her closer, they kissed again, deeply.

“That...” Anna spoke when they parted. “would be a yes.”

“FUCKING FINALLY!!!”

The voice came from outside of the tent, and was followed by the audible gasp of a group that realizes they have given themselves away.

Anna drew the tent open, and could feel the blood rushing to her face. Behind her, Lebedev went pale.

Easily more than a dozen people stood in front of them. Anna quickly identified the speaker as Alejandra Vega, and glared at the men standing by her side. “Ben. Garvin.”

Before she could go on, Lebedev recovered behind her. “JUST. WHAT. IS. EVERYONE. DOING. HERE?” He roared, and a significant part of their public seemingly dissolved into thin air.

Anna’s eyes remained fixated on Ben Saxon and Garvin Quinn, Alejandra having discretely begun to move away.

“Come on, Anna.” Saxon began. “We have been waiting for you two to get it together for weeks.”

Anna snarled, retiring back to within the tent. She and Lebedev eyed the screen, covered in static, suspiciously.

“You were listening in, too, weren’t you?” Anna accused.

The static seemed to momentarily temp to reform into an human shape before it fell disorganised again. “I’m sorry.” The disembodied digital voice spoke. “But it’s as Mr. Saxon said. You two have no idea how frustrating you have been to watch recently.”
