Otome game fashion comparison

Disclaimer: This is just my opinion, feel free to share your own!

Amnesia: Memories: Welp, it's pretty much 2000s/2010s Japanese (Visual Kei?) fashion and it's kinda cool. All outfits fit each other well, have a somewhat similar style. 3/5 stars (The outfits get better in the fandiscs/sequels.)

Psychedelica of the Black Butterfly: You have no idea how much I love the outfits in this game. Hella unique, perfectly fitting the atmosphere. Has some Visual Kei, Jirai Kei, Aristocrat style elements. 4.5/5 stars

Hakuouki: Sweet School Life: What the hell went wrong here? Everyone dresses like 30+ y.o. married people with barely a sense of fashion. 1/5 stars

Diabolik Lovers: Haunted Dark Bridal/Vandead Carnival: DL is what introduced me to/got me into Jirai Kei and if you know the franchise as well as the style's background, the style choice makes a lot of sense. Sure, the fashion in the games isn't overwhelming but I love that it shows us masculine versions of Jirai Kei. 4/5 stars (bc of my love for Jirai Kei)

7'Scarlet: Almost as bad as HSSL but Ichiko's outfit is pretty nice and I have a heart for Toa's normal outfit, wearing his grandpa's padded haori because it makes him feel comfortable. The yukata in this game though? Either pretty boring or ugly. 1.5/5 stars

i havent read any translations of SSL so im fairly ignorant abt it but i would LOVE to know how everyones backstories/childhoods in the main game translate into it. is hijikata a nursing school or marketing dropout that switched his major to education. did harada get his hands on a Cool Knife and then accidentally stab himself in the gut trying to do Cool Teen Knife Tricks. is okita adopted by kondou or is mitsu just an absent guardian. did saitou commit manslaughter

Hello my dear anon!

I am referring to the second episode of the drama Hakuouki Sweet School Life (2015).

Since you made me suffer a little and watch this episode, I'll tell you some statistics:

Kazama in this episode fully pronounced the word sapuraizu 12 times. Amagiri repeated this 6 times and once Shiranui said it irritably so that they would calm down.

in fact, this dorama is hilariously stupid, just look at how Kazama's office is decorated!

I think this scenes is especially funny, in fact, it's worth watching it yourself. I laughed out loud at these moments.

AND FOR ALL THOSE who think that Kazama is not a realistic character, I will tell a real-life story.

the brother of my close friend wanted to secretly propose to his girlfriend (they were already living together). to find out the size of her finger, he put her rings on his fingers at night while she was sleeping. the size was perfect for his little finger. but for some reason he got confused and was sure that the ring fit his index finger. and even the doubts of the woman at the checkout in the store did not convince him.

in the end, when he put the ring on her finger, it immediately slipped off her, because it was too big.

SO — I love ssl Kazama, I think he is an incredible character. it's just a pity that he doesn't have a OST in the dorama with classical music like in the game.

Grooming in Hakuouki: Sweet School Life: Harada

Everything here is my personal interpretation and opinion. I am not declaring anyone to be a groomer, I am just looking for signs that one might interpret as signs of grooming. Also: Feel free to criticize and correct me.

Note: I do not intend to attack you or your love for this fictional character. My intention is to educate others in this fandom (esp. minors and people that are close to their underage relatives) on the characteristics of grooming.

I am not saying people shouldn’t fantasize about (their) teachers (as a teenager I also had a crush on a teacher – who was a tiny bit like Hijikata, actually) but I am recommending anyone to watch out IRL for warning signs of grooming concerning yourselves and the minors that are close to you.

Yes, fiction is not reality. But it can inform and/or warp our perception of reality. Many of you are probably able to distinguish between the two and would not endorse this behavior IRL. And this game might have already taught you about this topic. (Toma’s route in “Amnesia: Memories” taught me to recognize the warning signs of abusive relationships and even though he was my favorite love interest there, I knew what he was doing was not okay.)

Still, I wanted to make this analysis. Because as a teenager, I only knew that that one teacher in our school shouldn’t be touching his students in the manner/frequency as he did. But no one, including me, felt the need/ was confident enough/... to report this behavior to our parents, other teachers, or the director. And there are so many other ways that teachers (or in general people in power) can be inappropriate.

Trying to Figure out Hakuoki SSL Alter

Feel free to tell me if I should move some people. Be aware, my characters are in here too. But this is what I think would make sense for ages and what SSL should of been.

Is it a larger cast? Yes. But I'd rather have different events for chapters than the repeat fest that was actual SSL. Plus more love for the boys other than the main six.

I’m so sorry this so late, everyone. IRL stuff got in the way and I ended up with neither free time nor much internet until now.

I have free time aplenty now, but internet not so much--it took until today to have enough high-speed left on my hotspot to get on here *sob*

So today I’m posting what I’m calling “version 1″ of the final epilogue updates: they haven’t gone through the full final round of proofreading that the other blog updates have been, which covers everything from leftover oopsies to natural language flow that the character limits of the game patch simply didn’t allow us. Once I have the chance to update the final details (screencaps of expressions too good to miss out on, and some extra CGs) and proofing, I’ll replace the blog text directly and remove the “version 1″ remarks in these posts :) As to the CSS posts, I’ll be sorting that out eventually, but I won’t have the data allowance anytime soon to do subtitled videos--or to reupload the ones Youtube took down. D: Thankfully, @kumoriyami-xiuzhen already has several CSS posts (translated from Chinese) with screenshots already up on their blog, so be sure to check those out in the meantime if you haven’t! :)
