one love token; spencer reid
Tumblr media
summary: spencer is more than happy about his not so innocent valentine’s day gift
pairing: spencer reid x fem!reader
requested: no but it’s vday :)
warnings: smallest hint at smut
notes: you can find my masterlist here
spencer was confused.
the pink envelope half hidden beneath his keyboard had drawn his attention the second he'd sat down, his hands pushing paperwork out of the way to set his fresh cup of coffee on the desk. when he tugged it free his eyes caught his own name, written in neat block letters with a tiny red heart acting as a full stop. the bullpen was quiet and almost empty, no sign of his usual co workers or his girlfriend, the only person he could think of that would leave him a valentine's day card. only, the two of you had already swapped cards and gifts that morning, still tangled beneath his warm sheets, the small strip of light peaking through the gap in his curtains the only thing allowing him to see the inscription you'd made on the first page of the new book you'd gotten him.
thumbing at the corner of the envelope, spencer wondered briefly if it was a prank, another one of morgan's terrible jokes that would have the scoreboard evening out. but when he flipped the paper over to see the back he was hit with the faintest smell of flowers, a scent he was extra familiar with and knew one hundred percent didn't belong to morgan. it was the soft floral scent that clung to all your clothes, that stuck to his bedsheets and his shirts long after you'd gone, a scent that spencer had decided was most definitely his favourite in the world. the groove of confusion between his eyebrows got deeper because why would you leave a second card at his desk?
he shook his head and peeled the envelope open, leaning back in his chair to pull the card free, a huff slipping past his lips when a smaller piece of paper fluttered to the floor by his feet. he didn't even look at the card at first, just set it in his lap so he could reach for the bit of paper, gripping it with two fingers before bringing it up to read. just like the envelope it was pink, clearly torn from one of your notepads and obviously hand written in your neatest print.
you'd drawn a heart in the middle, red like the one on the front, and had written the words 'ONE LOVE TOKEN' in bold inside the empty space, in smaller letters beneath 'valid until february 15th'. spencer's mouth tipped into a confused smile, and he flipped the paper to see if there was anything on the back. when he realised that side was blank he turned his attention down to the card in his lap, a surprised snort of laughter getting caught at the back of his throat.
he could feel the tips of his ears burning, his hands shifting so he could cover the design on the front of the card, more than aware of the fact morgan was lurking somewhere in the office and if he caught sight of the image spencer was sure to never hear the end of it. he tried not to look too flustered, brushed his fingers through his hair in an attempt to stop the curls sticking to his forehead. this card was considerably more inappropriate than the one you’d gifted him that morning, far too dirty to be on display at his desk and for a second he worried about what was inside.
the front of the card contained a single glazed donut sporting a smiley face and printed above in large unmistakable letters were words that spencer never thought he’d see. they were also words he never thought would cause a stir deep inside of him. ‘i want you to glaze my hole’ was the exact phrase and despite the laughter bubbling in his throat, he couldn’t stop the film reel that had started in his head, image after image of you flickering each time he blinked. clearing his throat he tugged a little at the knot of his tie, shifted in his seat and once again let his gaze do a sweep of the bullpen, eager to find you and discuss why you were trying to kill him.
it was as if you’d appeared out of nowhere, he was certain you hadn’t been standing in the kitchenette a few moments earlier, back pressed to the counter, a mug of what he knew was hot chocolate nursed between your hands. jj was at your side, talking excitedly, swiping through her phone but you weren’t paying attention. no. your whole focus was on spencer and he watched your lips form a teasing smile, your eyes darting between his and the card in his hand.
“open it.” you mouthed the words, nodded your head at the card and lowered your mouth to the rim of your mug to hide the ever growing smile and he narrowed his eyes. he knew the inside of the card was bound to be just as dirty as the outside and he hated that you were so eager to see him flustered and fumble in the middle of the office. he glanced around, noted that penelope was inside hotch’s office, case file in hand and knew it was only moments before his boss was gathering everyone up.
spencer looked back at you and rolled his eyes at your impatient shooing motion, your eyebrows rising as though to tell him to get a move on. he set it down on his desk, at an angle that made sure no one could really see and flipped it open, eyes immediately tracking the bright red lipstick mark beside his name. it was your lipstick of course, the shade he’d told you so many times was his favourite, the shade that was always guaranteed to leave stains on his neck, around his thumb, the base of his cock. the exact shade you just so happened to be wearing today.
he squirmed again in his seat at the flood of memories, tried to will his cheeks to stop burning, a familiar ache settling inside of him. fingers tugged his tie even looser, his mind uncaring at that moment that he was going to look more than a little disheveled when he got to the conference room. the lipstick wasn’t the only message on the inside, you’d written another little note highlighted by tiny hearts.
ONE LOVE TOKEN FOR THE BEST BLOWJOB OF YOUR LIFE, ANYTIME, ANYWHERE
so that was what the tiny slip of paper was for. at this point his entire neck and face had turned pink, hot to touch and his heart jumped when he lifted his gaze back to yours and you sent him that knee weakening innocent smile. your eye dropped in a wink and he let out a laugh, a breathless sort of sound that had you grinning ear to ear. closing the card he pushed it back beneath his keyboard, not exactly eager for someone to see, and tucked the handmade token into the pocket of his suit jacket before pushing out of his chair. he was headed towards you, a string of reprimands sitting on the tip of his tongue, followed by a couple of commands that he hoped would have you following him to an unused storage closet.
but cupid wasn’t on his side apparently. he was halfway across the floor when hotch’s appeared at the stairs. “we’ve got a case,” a pause. “florida.” spencer’s face twisted into a grimace that matched yours, turned and headed towards the round table, more than aware of the flush still on his skin and your eyes on his back, the token burning hot in his pocket.
he took his usual seat, watched rossi fall into the chair to his left and waited until you settled to his right, your foot knocking playfully into his ankle as a silent hello. your relationship was no secret to the rest of the team, it had been humiliating having to announce it to hotch, having to somewhat ask for permission to be together and even more humiliating to have the team find out because you’d been caught kissing in the car park. everything had worked out and as long as you remained professional, there were no issues but sometimes spencer found it difficult sitting beside you, your perfume making his chest fuzzy, and not being able to touch you, even in the smallest of ways. he settled for nudging you back with the toe of his shoe.
“you like your card?” you didn’t even look at him, kept your gaze on the case file, fingers flipping through the papers but he caught the small quirk of your mouth. your tongue swiped over your bottom lip and brought his attention down, his pulse spiking just slightly and his gaze narrowed.
reaching into his pocket he pulled his token out, slid it across the table and placed it right in your line of sight before leaning across to you. his lips brushed the shell of your ear, innocent to everyone else but intimate enough to you to draw a shiver up your spine.
he tapped once on the slip of paper and his next words left no room for argument. “i wanna cash in on this before we leave. bathroom as soon as we’re finished here.”

how do you print your linocuts so beautifully on fabric?? every time i try it’s so salty and illegible! :0 is it the ink you use?? thanks!
Aw, thank you!
So, honestly, there’s a lot of different things that go into a successful fabric print. Experimentation pays off - try a bunch of different things and take note of what works! I’ll share a bit of what I’ve learned in my own trial and error:
Choosing the right fabric is absolutely CRUCIAL. You want something with a nice, tight weave and a relatively smooth surface. I’ve gotten to a point where I can usually tell by touch if a fabric is going to print well, but I still screw this up occasionally. I’d suggest snagging an old bedsheet from a thrift store and going to town testing different techniques with it. Seriously, old bedsheets tend to print beautifully, especially the cheap ones that are a blend of cotton & synthetic fibers.
You’ll have to ink your linoleum block slightly more for fabric prints than you would for working with papers. Laying down many thin layers of ink onto your block rather than one thick layer is the way to go. Build up the ink gradually. I then lay my blocks face down onto fabric to print, the opposite of how I print onto paper. With paper, the paper lays on top of the block. With fabric, the block lays on top of the fabric.
I use a woodzilla lever press to get an even distribution of pressure but I’ve seen folks achieve beautiful results just by pressing hard with their hands, barrens, or standing/stepping onto the block. In my experience, it’s very easy to accidentally shift the block when printing on fabric by hand so you want to be extra careful to press straight DOWN and not at any sort of angle that may smudge your print.
I know other printmakers who prefer to work with rubber (such as speedball’s speedy carve) when printing fabric rather than linoleum. I always prefer to work with battleship grey lino, but there are some benefits to working with rubber. Linoleum is slightly porous, meaning it will absorb some ink, where as the ink will just sit on top of a rubber surface. The slight squishiness of rubber tends to mean you need a bit less pressure to get a legible print which can be really useful when printing on fabric. I’m not a huge fan of the way rubber carves but if it doesn’t bother you, you might have better luck with that.
Finally, you mentioned ink. I use cranfield caligo safewash inks for all my prints, both paper and fabric. I absolutely love working with these inks. They’re oil based inks but they’re water soluble before they dry, so they’re a bit easier to clean up than traditional oil inks. (Please keep in mind you should never be washing oil ink down drains, though! It pollutes our water!! A tiny bit of vegetable oil and wet wipes/alcohol will do the trick when cleaning up.) once the print is dry, it’s no longer water soluble thus it’s safe to hand wash any of my fabric prints with cool water. I’ve messed around a bit with speed ball’s inks before and honestly…………………. I hate them. I know they’re super popular but I despise working with them. I greatly prefer the texture of the cranfield inks.
Sorry for chattering on and on, but there really is a lot of different variables when it comes to printing on fabric (and honestly I just love to talk shop). I hope something in this monologue is useful to you, anon!

Everyday Rockstar - College!Ross Macdonald
A/N: Hi babies, me again. College!Ross was only supposed to be a oneshot but my delusional ass going-to-uni-in-two-weeks self wants more. Like I always say, delusion is manifestation. Anyways, enjoy!
word count: 1.1k
♫ The City - The 1975
The annoying one on your course invited you to one of his band's gigs. You weren't expecting much, I mean, this was Matty we're talking about. You could see it now, him parading across the stage with a beer bottle in hand and his shirt unbuttoned. However, what you weren't expecting was who he'd been sharing the stage with.
You and your coursemates are running a bit late. Despite it being two months since you moved out here to the city, you're all still figuring it out - the right bus routes to take, how much alcohol is too much, what shoes not to wear on any given occasion.
The wet, November pavement reflects the air back colder than it is. As you open the doors, you accept the warmth in the pub like an old friend. Your entrance is punctuated by loud drums and droning vocals, not to mention THE 1975 printed in blocked letters on what seems to be a pinned up old bedsheet. Yup, definitely Matty's band.
Your preconceptions were correct. There Matty was scantily-clad with a bottle in hand. But not of beer - wine. How pretentious. So French New Wave of you, you thought.
But next to him was someone familiar.
"Ross?" you whisper to yourself. You stand in shock, squinting hard as if to take a picture. You are mesmerised by the simultaneous nonchalant power and peace he brings on stage.
It caught you off guard how incongruous the History student was to the setting and yet how perfectly he fit in a dark, sultry place like this. He was wearing a black leather jacket, a far cry from that hoodie you stole from him just a month prior.
You and your mates walk into a gap in the crowd, not so dissimilar to a clearing in the woods. The song ends to which you all clap and holler as if your life depended on it. As you scream with adoration, he spots you.
His eyes widen like a child opening presents on Christmas. He smiles a smile so genuine it puts all of Matty's theatrics to shame. He's doing that thing where he looks down at the floor smiling, plays with the chain around his neck for a second. He's something out of a movie scene.
"Isn't that the guy you're hooking up with?" a disembodied head notices and exclaims behind you. You open your mouth but a response doesn't form. It's a yes or no question and yet neither response fits.
Ever since you met at that goddamn party, poured your heart out to each other, and ended up doing your laundry together, you both knew it would never be just hooking up. Heck, you haven't even done anything of that nature (yet), you've just been kissing, hanging out. Yes or no doesn't fit these weird romantically and sexually charged interactions you both have been having over the past month. So you turn to her and just shrug, mouth an "I don't know" much to both your confusion.
"This is a song called The City," Matty slurs down the mic. The percussion kicks in, heavy and confident.
There's a second before the other instruments follow suit where you wave at Ross and he waves back. It's this secret moment that's just yours. Blink and you'll miss it.
"You wanna find love, well, you know where the city is," your coursemate exclaims, like a drunken beat poet.
The bass rings right through you, your whole body reverberating under his hands, with every string he plucks. He catches glances at you as you bob your head and sway, eyes closed to really feel it. When your eyes aren't closed, you think he's made to be looked at like a Greek God on high platforms and by crowds bigger than these. It's like this for the entire show.
---
After the show, the pub is electric.
Matty's weak fist hits the side of your arm as he cries, "Ross is waiting for you outside!"
"Fuck you! You're actually not half bad, you know!" you hit him back with all the force he lacks and rush out through to the back smoking area.
The wet, cold air greets you as you walk through the door. "Ooh, it's cold out here," you shiver. Ross is right by the door, having just taken a cigarette out of the box. He's surprised by your arrival but smiles that same warm smile. "Matty said you asked for me?" you questioned.
The slightest eyebrow raise and air of confusion about him and you're prompted to go back the way you came. Trust Matty to embarrass you like that.
"No, no. Stay." Ross' hand grabs onto your wrist. His warm touch lingers a moment longer, it could melt your ice skin. It's a moment soundtracked by the muffled pop coming from inside and the hum of cars far away. You oblige to his request. He lets go of your wrist. You lean on the wall of the pub.
"Matty didn't mention you were a part of the band," you say, watching the buildings and stars twinkle in the distance, "as a matter of fact, YOU never told me you were a rockstar."
"I'm no rockstar," he laughs, raising the cigarette to his lips. Just as he lifts up his lighter, he decides to hand it to you. You step closer, looking at the lighter and then back at him. Since your first meeting, it always got so tense between the two of you. You light the cigarette, shielding the flame, hands grazing his lips ever so slightly. The smoke dances into the night as he blows out.
You break the silence. "Bass as well, best instrument out of them all... you were really good."
"Oh yeah?" he smirks.
"You were amazing... why didn't you mention it before?"
He touches his lips in contemplation, his gaze fixed on you taking in your smokey eyes and dark lips. You were made to foreground cityscapes, he wants to say. But all he manages is an "I don't know."
"God, if only I'd known I was brushing shoulders with a rockstar this whole time."
"Rockstar", he whispers. You catch him blushing almost as bright as the tip of the cigarette. You take note of his affinity to that particular word. An unconventional name to use on him later.
"You know what?"
"What?"
"I love the city," you breathe out.
"The place or the song?"
"Both."
You wanna find love, well, you know where the city is. The lyrics, shared like a memory, waver in another moment of silence.
"Can I kiss you?" he finally says as he takes his cigarette from his mouth. His dark eyes are transfixed on your lips whilst he plays with his chain.
"Yes please."
And he kisses you. You fling your arms around his neck like you did that very first night. He wraps his jacket around you, as if to take all of you in.
He is the warmth when it's cold. He is the rare quiet to your fluorescent metropolis. The cigarette ash falls onto the pavement as it dwindles away in the background. The pop song inside fades to another. The cars keep passing through. It's another secret moment that is all yours.
A/N: FIRST AND FOREMOST, thank you to @hypersonic04 for help when I was brainstorming. You know I love you.
Right so I don't know Tumblr terminology, dunno what a blurb, oneshot etc. actually are. College!Ross was only supposed to be a oneshot (?), but because I'm continuing the story, it's technically not now, is it? Is it a series? I don't even know. I don't know what this is unravelling to be, in my head it's just a series of episodic vignettes in the same universe about the same person, not necessarily a series. If you have any input on the subject, by all means, tell me because I'm confusing myself.
Also, what do we think about college!Ross as a tag? I'm British so college means something different here, so when I write it I just have the image of a 16-year-old doing a vocational course in my head. The tag feels very American, but university!Ross or uni!Ross makes him sound like a unicorn or smth silly, student!Ross also sounds lame asf. ANYWAYS, I digress, I hope you liked this. And send me requests of what you wanna hear from me/just to chat <3 <3

Silk Sheets
Summary: You’ve seen the weirdest things working in retail. But when you saw a hot blind man trying to figure out which silk sheets would be best for his delicate skin you did ask yourself… Why was it always the hot ones that are so weird?

Why did you agree to take a double shift?
It was almost 9pm on this way too warm Friday evening. People were out, enjoying their weekends or having dinner with their loved ones and you were here, in a department store in the middle of hell's kitchen, sitting in front of the only working fan in an attempt to cool yourself down.
At least no one was bothering you and probably wouldn’t be until you had to close up in an hour.
And then you… would just have to make the twelve blocks home.
In the middle of the night.
But hey at least the pay was great and nothing had ever happened to you.
Yet.
Great.
You sighed, scrolling through your phone when the bell above the door rang, announcing a customer.
“Great,” you muttered to yourself before you schooled your face into your customer friendly smile when a man stepped into your path of vision.
He was…. He was fucking hot.
Wearing slacks and a white button up tucked into his pants, the sleeves rolled over his elbow. The first few buttons were undone.
When you finally looked into his face you saw a smile playing on his lips, his eyes hidden behind red glasses.
You noticed the cane in his hand.
He was blind.
“Uhm… Can I help you?” you asked, rounding the counter so you were standing in front of him.
He nodded, the smile still playing around the corner of his lips.
“I need new bedsheets,” he said.
“Oh of course. We have a wide variety of bedsheets in different fabrics,” you fell into your role.
“Would you show me?” he asked. He held up his elbow and you took a deep breath as you stepped to his side, carefully laying your hand on his arm.
“Of course,” you said shy all of the sudden as you began to guide him towards the aisle.
“Any particular colour?” you asked, flinching in the next moment.
You heard a chuckle from your side and you looked up, seeing an amused smirk on his lip.
“Surprise me,” he winked and you let out a nervous laugh.
Tumblr media
“Silk sheets then?” you asked and he nodded.
“I’m… a little sensitive? I think when I lost my eyesight my other senses went on overdrive and… I find that silk is the less disturbing fabric to sleep in,” he explained and you raised your eyebrows, nodding to his words.
Sensitive…. You rolled your eyes. Of course there had to be something a little weird about him.
His fingers brushed over the fabrics you had laid out, bringing it to his cheek.
You were… confused and yet fascinated watching him try to figure out which material worked best for his precious skin.
Though the mental picture of him naked in those silk sheets was doing something to you. Something you would explore later on in the comfort of your home, with your most trusted toy between your legs.
“Which colour is this?” he asked and you huffed a laugh.
“If I say pink, would you still buy it? Wait, do you know colours? Like… do you know how they…. look?” you frowned and he smiled.
“Haven’t been blind all my life. So yes I do remember colours. Even if only vaguely.”
“Okay,” you smiled. “It’s not pink for the record. It’s light grey.”
“Good. I’ll take two. Surprise me with another colour if you have it,” he teased and you chuckled. You packed everything together before you helped him back to the front.
You put everything in a bag for him, billing everything in and printing the receipt after he paid, glancing at his card.
Matthew Murdock.
You frowned, having heard that name before as you glanced at the clock, noticing it was already past 10.
“Thank you for your great service,” he said, taking the bag.
“Just doing my job, Mr. Murdock,” you smiled and he chuckled.
“Call me Matt please.”
“Okay, Matt,” you grinned.
It seemed like he was lingering around.
“Uhm… How long do you have until you close?” he asked.
“We’re officially closed for the last fifteen minutes,” you said and he tilted his head, biting his bottom lip as if he was thinking.
You wanted to be the one biting that lip.
“Can I invite you for a drink?” he asked. “As a thank you for helping the weird blind guy.”
Your eyes got big.
“Did I say that out loud?” you asked and he laughed.
“No but now I know you were thinking it,” he said and you wanted the earth to swallow you up.
“You’re the worst,” you mumbled and he grinned.
“That a yes?” he asked and you shook your head with a smile.
“Yeah. Let me just grab my stuff.”
Tumblr media
“Fuck… right there,” you moaned, your hands in his hair as his arms held you pinned to his mattress while he was eating you out.
This certainly wasn’t how you planned your day to end but you sure as hell weren’t complaining.
He wanted to take you out to a bar but had to stop at his place to leave his stuff there, so he didn’t have to carry everything. Which made sense. Theoretically.
Safe to say you did not make it to the bar after the door closed behind you and he kissed you for the first of many times.
Now you were naked in his, admittedly very soft silk sheets, while he brought you closer to your second orgasm (he had made you cum riding his thigh on his couch before he carried you to his bedroom) with every stroke of his tongue through your pussy. Flicking our clit before he sucked it into the warm column of his mouth, two of his fingers filling you, making you cry out.
“I’m… I’m so close… Please…” you whined. You wiggled in his grasp, trying to move your hips against his tongue.
“Stay still,” he hummed, biting into the skin just under your hip bone, before he spit on your pussy, smirking up at you as he moved his fingers inside of you.
“I can feel you. You’re so close… What do you need? Do you need… this?” he hummed, one finger rubbing over your clit while his other hand continued to move inside of you.
“Or this?” he whispered, his lips closing around your clit before he sucked. Hard.
“Fuck,” you let your head fall against the mattress, your muscles tensing as your orgasm crashed over you. You pulled at his hair, making him groan into you as he kept licking you until you were pushing him away from you, overwhelmed and oversensitive.
He pulled his fingers from you, cleaning them up with his tongue like an ice cone before he softly kissed up your body.
You pulled him down on you when he finally was close to your lips, making him chuckle against your lips as he kissed you.
You could heel him against your inner thigh, hard and throbbing.
“I really want to you to fuck me,” you mumbled against his lips and he groaned.
“Good. I want to fuck you too,” he said and you grinned, your hands pushing into his hair.
“I want you to fuck me so hard I can feel you all weekend when I’m back home,” you whispered against his air, before you bit his earlobe.
“Who said you were going to leave?” he asked with a smirk, kissing down your neck.
“Are you planning on keeping me here?” you asked.
“If you let me,” he mumbled against your skin and you released a nervous breath, butterflies fluttering in your belly.
“Fuck me, Matthew,” you whispered, parting your legs wider for him.
“Do we need a condom?” his face was between your boobs, his attention with your nipples.
“I’m clean and on birth control. If you’re clean and don’t have a condom somewhere where you don’t have to get out of this bed…”
“I’m clean. Fuck I really just wanna fuck you,” he let his head fall in between your boobs and you smiled, stroking your fingers through his hair.
“Then fuck me. Make me cum on your cock,” you whispered and he groaned.
“Give me a second. I think if I sink into you now I'm gonna cum immediately,” he mumbled into your boobs and you giggled.
“Think about bed sheet fabrics?” you teased and he laughed before he pulled himself up and kissed you.
He lined himself up, the tip of his cock slipping through your obscenely wet pussy before he slowly pushed inside. You closed your eyes, one hand on his back, the other hand on his ass.
“You feel… perfect.. Fucking…” he mumbled into your neck, kissing himself up while his length filled you until he was filling you to the brink. He kissed you then, giving you time to get used to him inside of you, your hand on his back wandering into his hair as his tongue pushed into your mouth before he began to move.
Fucking into you with deep thrusts.
“Matt…” you moaned against his lips, one of his arms pulling you closer against him as he moved faster. It changed the angle in which he was fucking you, making you cry out in pleasure, parting from his lips.
“There… please… Please….” you whimpered and he fucked you harder.
“There… I can feel you squeezing me…” he groaned and you looked at him, sweat running down his temple before his lips came down on yours. Hard and wanting, while your orgasm took you by surprise, your pussy pulsing around him as he continued to fuck you.
“So fucking good…” he whimpered, before you felt him roll you to the side.
“Wanna hold you when I cum inside of you,” he mumbled, pulling out of you. You turned around, pushing your ass against his cock as one of his arms pulled you up, your back against his chest, his hand on your boobs. He wasted no time filling you from behind, his other arm pulling you even closer towards him.
His face was buried in your neck, his lips on your skin.
It felt intimate. More intimate that it should feel with someone you had only met hours ago.
“Gonna cum,” he mumbled into your skin, one of his hands wandering down your body until you felt his fingers between your legs, rubbing your clit.
“I… I can*t….” you whimpered, letting your head fall back against his shoulder.
“You can…” he whispered and you turned your head towards him.
“And you will,” he slapped your clit and your eyes rolled back. His lips found yours as you shattered around him, crying out his name as you came for the fourth time this evening. He cursed against your lips, groaning loudly before you felt him pulse inside of you, filling you with his warmth as he continued to fuck into you sloppily.
He stayed there, deep inside of you, both of you sweaty and out of breath in each other's arms.
“That was….”
“Not at all how I expected this day would end,” you finished his sentence and you both laughed lightly. You turned your head to look at him.
He was smiling at you, his fingers brushing up your thigh.
“This day is not over yet,” he hummed before he kissed your neck.
You began to giggle all of the sudden and he looked at you with a smile on his lips.
“What?”
“At least you have new sheets to change,” you giggled and he laughed, his body shaking against yours.
“True. But… These smell like you now, I don’t wanna change them… At least not now,” he mumbled and your heart swelled.
“You’re pretty damn cute, you know that?”
“You only say that because I’m still inside of you,” he grinned and you pushed against his shoulder playfully making him laugh.
“Such a weirdo,” you shook your head with a grin.
“But a weirdo with great sheets,” he hummed before he kissed you again.

Party Time
Pairing: Dieter Bravo x Fem!Reader [Reader is early 20s, only set description of her] Rating: G Word Count: 1.8k Notes: This is a birthday gift and I really hope you like how this came out! Happy Birthday, lovely!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dieter Bravo was eccentric. One minute he could act out several Shakespearean plays like the most well trained stage performers but if you blinked he could be wrapping hotel bedsheets around his body like a toga and declaring himself the “Kitkat Emperor” like some sort of man child. His eccentricity was what you liked the most about him, unpredictable and unwilling to conform to this level that most celebrities seemed to sit at when they reached the career points he had.
When you had gotten the job to help run wires and monitor the equipment on the set of Tides of Chance you hadn’t ever expected to meet the stars, not only had all of the rest of the crew told you it would be unlikely because only the most senior staff would be in the room during filming but that was just an insane idea. It was the setting of some… dime store romance novel and life didn’t work that way.
Except it did, apparently, since on the first day of filming one of the mats meant to protect the wires from being tripped over or rolled around had come loose. Your direct supervisor had fired the girl responsible for it since one of the girls in lighting had tripped clean over the mat and shattered several stand lights in the process, you’d been tasked to not only clean up but to fix the mistake being the low woman on the totem pole as everyone cleared out to do a table read instead.
“Careful, cleaning up, make sure you don’t cut yourself.” Dieter had stopped on his way off set, clad in the linen pants and loose Hawaiian shirt with its garish yellow and teal printed flowers, and had even gone as far as catching your wrist to make sure you heard him. If he noticed the way you couldn’t quite hold his gaze, shy under the weight of those brown eyes of his, the actor didn’t say anything.
“R-right, thank you Dieter.” He left the room with a low laugh directed at Giles as the set manager called his name in warning and you’d set about cleaning up and re-running the cables with Sabrina from lighting. The woman leveled you with an odd look that you opted not to read into as you started sweeping while she worked on getting the shattered bulbs out of the stand lights.
The second time you encountered Dieter was at the vending machine nearly a week later and you were in desperate need of food, spending most of the day running around the massive outdoor area being blocked off for filming so you could check on wires and ensure that lighting had no power issues, and you hadn’t even been paying attention as you grabbed your bottle of water and oatmeal bar from the machine.
“Those oatmeal bars are not as healthy as they say.” You jumped and nearly fumbled your water, turning to face him, and hated the way he looked stupid handsome as he peered at you over the top of his RayBans.
“It’s food, I’m desperate.” You tore the wrapper and took an aggressive bite out of the sticky bar, meeting his gaze almost defiantly, and Dieter’s reply was to chuckle and reach into the tote bag over his shoulder before he waved a wrapped sandwich from the catering table almost playfully.
“I’ll split half of this with you, it’s carved turkey and vegan cheese on whole grain bread and has actual vegetables.” You stared back at him and your brain practically fumbled over what he’d just said, your mouth moving way too fast to put up the word filter.
“You’re vegan? But you- never mind. It was rude, you don’t deserve that, sorry.” Dieter paused mid motion, staring at you like you’d grown a second head, and when you held your hand out the actor chuckled and took it before dragging you over to one of the low rocks and pulling it out of the wrapper. You took half and he grinned playfully as he took a large and aggressive bite out of his.
“You’re different, most people love throwing my addiction at me.” You stared at him, taking in the gray mixing into his beard and the way Dieter held himself almost… defensively. Like he was waiting for you to lash out at him instead of being the dramatic celebrity that he was technically known as.
“You went to rehab, you admitted your problems and decided to do better, and you seem to be in a better place now. Takes a special kind of asshole to belittle the work you’ve put into yourself.” You stared ahead as you spoke, eyes unfocused on the scene before you, it wasn’t like you had any personal experiences or anyone close to you that had gone through anything similar but you were human and even if you were young it wasn’t like you were blind or oblivious.
“Apparently there are more of them in the world than I thought, but… I do wish there were more people like you.” That made you look at him, the expression on his face was soft and borderline affectionate, and you shrugged slightly when those insecurities began creeping in. You were young, young enough that being seen with him in any capacity would be rumors of scandals, and working as crew for the film? You knew the ugly headlines that could, and would, be born of even a friendship.
As if sensing the mood Dieter looked away to eat again and you decided to change the topic, asking about his thoughts on the film and his character, which lightened the way he sat as the actor very loudly began mentioning what changes he would make to some of the scenes he had already shot.
Tumblr media
It wasn’t you intention but Dieter had slowly wormed his way into being your friend, going as far as ditching cast dinners to come find you instead, and honestly he just made it fun to be on set and at work since he had no issues consistently making up excuses to come find you when he wasn’t filming or he’d make faces at you when he was if you happened to be in the room or around the filming area. It wasn’t until it was days away that you’d even remembered your birthday, getting an e-card from your granny that you knew her caretaker Sophie had helped write, and a bit of a disappointed feeling burned in your chest.
This would be the first birthday that you weren’t home celebrating with your best friends, or even just your family, so you just decided not to even bother with any kind of a cake. Maybe it was just because of the distance but it certainly didn’t feel the same, you were friendly at best with the crew but not friends, and you knew it was a little on the childish side but the fact that nobody had even brought it up stung since you’d always gone out of your way to at least ask if they wanted a small gift days before.
When midnight struck and you were left sighing, staring at the hotel room ceiling, your phone chimed softly with your personal alarm before a series of texts came in from four of your closest friends as well as a request for a video call. You grinned as you answered, the light low, and while it didn’t feel the same it felt better than it had.
You were hard at work when Dieter found you just shy of noon, lugging a heavy bundle of cables from one set to be put away, and his rather casual slacks paired with a soft purple button down seemed out of place for filming today.
“Dieter-“
“Tom told me to send you to Shelly, in wardrobe, dunno why. The lights in the dressing rooms were a little funky but I guess it was giving someone a headache.” He wiggled his eyebrows and you couldn’t help your grin.
“The fact that Leila expected that excuse to work still surprises me, but okay I’ll go once this is away.” Dieter nodded and hurried away, leaving you wondering what in the world was going on, and after draping the cables on their assigned hook you noticed that the set was shockingly empty. It was almost worrying, really, and you wondered if shooting was happening somewhere else or if they’d changed it to a table read; though Dieter’s choice of clothing wouldn’t make much sense.
“Hello dear.” Shelly was an older woman and sweet, you quickly sorted out the lighting issue after finding a loose plug, and she stopped you with a smile asking a favor.
“You want me to what?” You stared at the dress, it was beautiful really with a black bodice and cold shoulder sleeves falling into a maxi-length skirt that was like a watercolor print of blues and purples and soft pinks.
“Wear this for the rest of the day? We have a crew meeting and I want to launch my own line, you can be my live model. Please?” The text from Tom confirming the meeting Shelly brought up made you exhale and you relented, not at all surprised when the woman let you pick your shoes from the wardrobe closet as she fixed the dress to be more tailored in appearance, and Danielle from hair and make-up peeked in and agreed to style you up since there was time before the last meeting of the day.
You felt great when you were finished, the unexpected pampering was nice, and while you were suspicious about the circumstances you had no reason to believe anyone was doing this for you. Nobody else had anything like this done for their birthdays, or if they had you weren’t invited, and so when you entered the large conference room and found it full of people and decor and a giant cake in the center of the room it made you stare open-mouthed around the space.
“Happy Birthday, you look amazing, I knew that was the right dress to commission for you.” Dieter swooped you up into a hug and you sputtered in surprise at the reveal.
“You put this together? You- you commissioned me a dress?”
“Yep! Surprise!”
“W-why… why would you-“
“You were sad and nobody should be sad on their birthday. Besides, we’re friends, I wasn’t going to let you think I forgot.” He tugged you toward the cake and squeezed your hand firmly, jewel bright eyes twinkling under the fairy lights that had been set up, and you couldn’t help the way your eyes watered or the fluttering in your chest as you tugged and pulled him down to kiss him on the cheek.
“Thank you, Dieter. Really.”
“Anytime, now come on you have a cake to cut.”
You had been more than happy with your party, everyone cheerful and asking you about what you’d liked most on set so far or what your plans were after this film was done, but nothing made you happier when Dieter tugged you away to give you one last gift in the form of a pretty rose gold bracelet and a icing sweet kiss that you could still taste on your tongue even after the cake was long gone.
