Which I guess is good in a way to further confirm to doctors that #I Have Something Wrong With Me lol (most normal people should not be this heat sensitive I think) but is also still a little stinky #because I still payed a copay for the fulla appointment time but cit it short by leaving 15minues early.. grrr #ANYWAY. It seems like recently it's just hot all the time but it will ocasionally tempt you with a cool day of reprieve BUT don't let your #guard down! because as soon as you start to think 'hey things are getting better! :0' the sun will be like NO actualy. scalding temperature #be upon ye.. #Which of COURSE. I would rather have hot weather with little breaks in between than just constant hot weather. 100% definitely. #but it just always makes me sad because I get my hopes up lol.. not me popping back on here with a post after months of semi-inactivity (uni is being a bitch) just to reiterate how much i love writing the pahkitew island cast.

aside from sammy and amy (obviously), literally everyone else can be shipped with one another and it'd make sense to some degree, like it takes skill to create a group of people so inherently shippable (platonically and/or romantically) and ofc the writers didn't know it they just shoved a bunch of random ppl together and dusted their hands off on it but fr tho 😭

Not much to do in the way of affidavits because #either he made sure no one saw anything or I made sure. (Shame is a heckuva thing.) I really need the medical records from the assault. #Can't get them because I am currently without ID. I am currently without ID because I have had a beginner's permit for ~10 years now and #those have to be renewed in-person every year. Can't get to DMV to get it renewed because... no car. Can't use Uber because you have to #provide your own car seats and where am I going to put three car seats while I'm at the DMV? Can't use bus because... bus lines. #...it's stressful. #Also I'm still not sure about the theology of all this but it's also impossible not to see the Hand of God in freeing me and the boys from #this man so either God will help me work out the theology of it later or I'll ask Him when I get to Heaven. #Practically speaking I will not ever permit him and the boys unsupervised contact again if I can help it because he WILL neglect them #at best and physically hurt them for his own amusement and/or beat them up because of his temper at worst. #...anyway any and all prayers are appreciated.

I would like to thank tumblr for a decade worth of 'heres what you do in an emergency' posts, because just now on my way home I watched a cyclist wipeout into a ditch, and I was able to successfully call 911 and get him help and everything happened basically as correctly as it could

#i have his bike on my porch and i scribbled my contact info on a cvs receipt and tucked it in his backpack #(and told him where i was putting it) #so now I just have to make sure it gets back to him. presumably this wont be for a day or two idk. but yes #i definitely wouldnt have known remotely what I was doing wouthout all those step by step posts with advice #so i appreciate it and theres a kid who got better help today than he would have #my only regrets are that a) i was tired and nearly drove past without asking if he needed help and YES HE VERY MUCH NEEDED HELP #and b) i should have asked his name right away while i was helping instead of after the 911 call but thats fine i did ask it after #lori chat #im like 'im fine?' but also i can feel my body having a stress response around me so like i will take this one step at a time lmao

*to clarify, I struggle to read music & learn by ear, but my memory also struggles with remembering chords/finger placements/tabs so even tho i can usually hear how a song should go enough to identify notes & whatnot, and can, with enough time spent noodling, eventually recreate it on guitar. That is not conducive nor useful in actually playing and getting better at it and makes it feel like an Impossible Task lmao.

#text post #tbh it probably is actually impossible bc like #i briefly got a few heavily discounted lessons re: voice guitar and piano w/my old hs choir teacher #and we had some heavy talks abt brains & things and #eventually he was like. u can *technically* play music and sing #ur voice is *unique* like tom waits or bob dylan (read: bad or considered bad by many at least lmao) but u CAN sing #and u can play piano & guitar *in theory* but not with enough understanding to get good at it #his concern kept coming back to my maths learning disability bc he thought that was also fucking up how my brain parses certain music things #and tbh? he's probably right lol #but still. i look to her my shining axe with strings in need of tuning but eager #and then i look away bc it's a nice dream. but im probably never going to be able to achieve any level of skill let alone mastery #I've tried so many times and my brain just can't keep all that info in & parse it all consistently. & it sucks but also it's ok #someday I'll pick her up again and attempt to play and let myself suck at it & b content with that #not today lmao but someday

#weird addendum but pls don’t reblog my vent posts??? why would you even want to???? #everything has been So Much lately and I wasn’t gonna vent but then I remembered this is my blog and I can do what I want #one of my best friends left the country last week and he’ll be gone for like two years and I’m so sad without him around #I mean he’s been messaging me every day since he left but it’s still hard not having him here yknow? #and I’m moving into his place but it requires a lot of work before I can so I’m always exhausted #and my joints have all but given out on me completely so I’m always covered in KT tape and braces #which doesn’t gel very well with moving furniture and heavy boxes #and I have no money so I need to be job searching but I can’t do that until I move. BUT I NEED MONEY TO MOVE #on top of that my grandpa died and there’s so much family drama involving that it’s unreal #and weirdly the thing I’ve recently felt bad about is I’ve been neglecting my self imposed Fandom Duties #maybe not fandom specifically but like. creative duties #I want to write fic. I want to draw. #song of the day #'if I don't make it back from where I've gone / just know I loved you all along' #I'm setting up my queue for a more proper recommendation tomorrow but I've been rereading 'shoulder the sky' by Night_Fury #the whole series draws from various Amazing Devil lines for titles and such #'back then I was dauntless' is my favorite reworking of the Melidaan arc I've ever seen absolutely anywhere #and the title is a line from my favorite Amazing Devil song 'The Calling' but 'Inkpot Gods' is used to stunning effect in-story #and the beautiful refrain from the end of the song is playing in my head now as I keep going into the series #today was a deeply unpleasant day: the inevitable finally happened and Duncan cut himself doing his mudlarking #we'd been trying to schedule a preventative tetanus shot but several times we've gone in for the properly scheduled shot #and found out that they didn't actually have one in stock. unspeakably frustrating #and today we ran out of time for a preventative one. I woke up #(actually I woke up for work as he was going out for his walk but I got a migraine halfway through my morning meeting--no good-- #and took the rest of the day off--turns out to have been a very good thing--and went back to sleep. so I woke up the second time) #to Duncan coming back from his walk with a sliced finger and the grody plastic-and-tin swan that had done the slicing #(picture of said swan under the cut because why not. it does look neat. can't see the sharp edge in the pic though it's underneath) #and so then we called the pharmacy and got the same automated 'of course you can have a tetanus shot' as ever so we made an appointment #and we got there and they did actually have a shot in stock this time! except that they weren't able to administer it #because now he's post-exposure that's a different shot and they aren't allowed. so we had to go to the urgent care instead #all told we spent about four hours out of the house on this mission but Duncan did get his shot and some bonus antibiotic goo for the cut #and it was worth it but also bleeeeeeegh it was miserable. which is where my recommendations do come in #when I tell y'all that I spent today reading Night_Fury's fics and also looking at valiants' CoD art and it saved me #whooo I mean it. being simultaneously stressed + bored is the nightmare state for me and instead I had wonderful things in my phone
