Blaine adjusts the strap over his shoulder as he stares at the signup sheet in front of him. He’s had a lot of ‘new experiences’ today and he’s not sure he wants to add one more to the list but...glee club.
It’s like a pull in his chest. He feels the ache of having to leave the Warblers every day and while he knows joining the New Directions won’t necessarily fill that void, it’s a pull he can’t ignore.
He writes his name in his neat script before he loses his nerve, looking around the crowded hallway as if expecting someone to jump out and scream ‘Ha! That signup is for everyone BUT you’. That doesn’t happen of course, the general populous of the school passing him by like he’s furniture.
He’s actually okay with that. He prefers to be part of the furniture (well ON the furniture if you ask his Dalton friends, but that was a different story… a different time) and would rather no one look at him. Which is why this morning in homeroom had been so unnerving.
He’s the new kid, he’d expected a fair amount of eyes on him the first day (hell the first week at least) but he hadn’t expected THOSE eyes on him.
They were blue but that didn’t even begin to describe them. ‘Blue’ felt like a wholly inadequate adjective but Blaine’s brain failed to supply any other options. His brain did provide two other thoughts though. One being that he wanted those eyes on him again. The other being he couldn’t afford to have those, or any other eyes, on him for too long.
With a sigh, Blaine backs away from the signup sheet, staring at it like he may at any moment scratch his name off, before shaking his head sharply and walking briskly away. He can have this one thing. He’s going to allow himself this one thing.
-- -- --
Kurt settles in his usual chair in the choir room, smiling and waving at Tina who he hasn’t seen for the last month - she had been in Florida with her family for the second half of the summer.
“Good summer, Kurt?” She asks.
Kurt nods, “It was, despite the scenery.” He gestures with his hand as if to encompass the whole of Lima, Ohio.
Tina giggles as Mike comes and sits next to her and more glee club members file into the room, “Well this time next year you’ll leave this town in the dust behind you.”
“One way or another.” Kurt nods with a smile as Mr. Schuester enters the room with a clap to get everyone’s attention.
“Welcome back, guys!” He exclaims, spreading his arms out to his sides with a smile, “I’m so excited to get this year started! First up…”
Rachel raises her hand swiftly from the front row, causing their teacher’s words to die on his lips as she interrupts, “Mr. Schue, I just wanted to say that as a senior, I am more than ready to take on a leadership role this year including, but not limited to solos, mentoring, and vocal training for our less gifted members.”
“Berry, if you weren’t here to be an annoying fly in the front row I’d think I was in the wrong choir room.” Santana snarks from the back row.
Rachel turns with an indignant huff and Kurt can see Mr. Schuester’s eyes roll ever so slightly. While Kurt doesn’t always agree with their fearless (okay usually scared shitless) leader, he can’t help but want to echo his annoyance, “Thank you, Rachel, for your enthusiasm. As always.” Mr. Schue smiles and Rachel smiles back before their teacher readdresses the group, “But as I was saying - first up are auditions for new members! We have…” He looks quickly at the sheet and Kurt notices his face fall at what he sees, “...just one auditionee. A Blaine Anderson.”
He says it to the group, as if to call up the boy, but it’s clear to everyone in the room that there is no new person amongst them. Everyone in the room is familiar and Kurt can even see Brittany pointing softly at each person in the room and then at herself with a vaguely confused expression.
Kurt’s not surprised by the lack of interest, he’s sure none of them are, despite Mr. Shue’s reaction. He’s not even all that surprised by the no-show candidate. The boy is probably a freshman who signed up out of overeagerness before learning throughout the day about how totally uncool it is to actually be in glee club.
Mr. Schue coughs awkwardly, and lays the clipboard on the piano before turning to the group with a tight smile, “Well I guess we can start working on…”
“I’m so sorry! Am I too late?” Mr. Shue is once again interrupted by a voice and Kurt turns in its direction to find the boy from this morning making his way into the room.
He’s out of breath and his cheeks are pink and Kurt immediately feels his senses sharpen. He sits a little straighter, crosses his legs a little more primly, and tucks his hands between his thighs. He licks his lips and then bites them together to keep what he knows would be a goofy smile off his face. My god, he doesn’t even know this boy’s name.
Well he does now. It’s Blaine Anderson apparently. But that’s all he knows. How is it possible to feel what he’s feeling when he literally knows nothing else of any significance about the boy?
“Of course not!” Mr. Shue enthuses, overly brightly, “Welcome! We’re glad to have you. Are you prepared to audition now or do you need a few minutes?”
Blaine puts his bag down and fidgets with his outfit before shaking his head, “I’m good to go now.” He says with a smile and Mr. Shue gestures for him to take the ‘stage’ before moving to sit in the front row beside Finn.
Objectively, Kurt has to admit that Blaine is an amazing singer. As he belts out a perfect version of End of the Road by Boyz II Men, Kurt is captivated by the tone and emotion, and he’s sure if he were able to look around the room and not just stare at Blaine, his classmates would be having similar reactions.
Blaine ends the song with a shy smile and shrug as the room erupts in applause around him. Mr. Schue gets up and moves next to Blaine, clapping the boy on the shoulder and addressing the room, “Well, it looks like we have a new member guys!” He says with a smile, “Feel free to grab a seat, Blaine, and we can get started.”
There are many empty seats available in the room, as there always are, and Blaine chooses one in the middle row in front of Kurt, just to his left. Kurt won’t admit to being a little upset that Blaine hadn’t taken the empty seat next to him but he tries to tell himself he’s being silly. Social etiquette dictates that Blaine would take the seat with as much space between himself and the people around him who are virtual strangers to him.
Kurt keeps an eye on the boy as rehearsal continues. He tries to do it slyly and without letting on that he’s watching him, but if the looks Mercedes keeps sending him are anything to go by, he’s not doing a very good job. Blaine comes across as charismatic and friendly, if a little reserved. He has no problem following instructions when asked to sing a part of a song or do choreography, but he doesn’t immediately volunteer and stays in the background until called upon.
This behaviour isn’t strange of course, just like the seat picking, but Kurt finds himself wanting to catalogue all things ‘Blaine’.
As rehearsal ends, the group goes to the risers to grab their bags and Kurt has an internal debate with himself on whether he should talk to Blaine or not. Maybe he could ask him to come to the Lima Bean after rehearsal. Not in a date sort of way! But in a ‘I really want to get to know you and hopefully you’re gay and maybe you’ll end up liking me back but this isn’t a date’ kind of way. He’s sure he can get Mercedes and Tina to come along and probably Finn and Rachel too if they aren’t busy trying to figure out the status of their ridiculous relationship.
He’s just decided he’s courageous enough to ask when he turns to find Rachel talking to Blaine. He moves down the risers and catches their conversation as he gets closer.
“...would be beneficial for us to get to know each other better.” Rachel is saying and Kurt rolls his eyes to himself. Of course Rachel is trying to become buddy buddy with Blaine - might as well scope out the competition early on.
Blaine smiles, “That sounds great, Rachel.” He says politely, adjusting his bag higher on his shoulder.
“Are you free now? We could go to the Lima Bean for coffee? Finn and I were going to head over.” Rachel says.
“We were?” Finn asks, confused.
Bitch is stealing my invitation! Kurt thinks bitterly, glaring at his best friend. Though, he figures he could probably score an invite to the Lima Bean too, so in the end Rachel’s probably doing him a favour...but still.
Blaine grimaces slightly, “I wish I could but I have to go pick up my little sister.” He says.
Has a sister. Kurt mentally adds to his ‘Blaine’ list, followed immediately by, Cares enough about his sister to pick her up.
Rachel pouts, not used to not getting her way, “Well maybe tomorrow!” She enthuses.
Blaine coughs, awkwardly, and shifts on his feet slightly, “Yeah. Maybe.” He says and Rachel seems appeased but Kurt can’t help but feel like it’s a brush off. He cocks his head to the side and observes Blaine for a moment as he waves at Rachel and Finn and begins to leave the classroom.
He gets not really wanting to deal with Rachel’s over exuberance, but to shut down a gesture of friendship as the new kid? That seems odd.
Kurt is shaken from his musings when Finn calls his name, “Hey Kurt, apparently we’re going to the Lima Bean.” He calls from across the room.
Rachel huffs, “We weren’t actually going to the Lima Bean!” She huffs and stalks away as Finn’s brow furrows.
“Well then why did you say we were?” He calls after her.
Kurt chuckles and shakes his head. This should be an interesting year.

I wrote a Glee fic. It’s all love n fluff.
-
Five years ago today, my girl, the one who I made a baby with (and we gave up for adoption) said yes when I asked her out. I could not have been more happy then, and and more overjoyed now-on our five year anniversary.
Since that fateful Glee reunion with everyone else, where she became my official girlfriend, we’ve been busy.
...No, not that kind of busy, I mean the moving-across-the-country-and-career-orianted kind of busy.
After graduating from Yale (At the top of her class, I might add), Quinn got a job at an adoption agency, and after Finn’s death and then High School Graduation, I wound up in the military.
“So Puck, are you eventually going to tell me where we’re going?” She asked, swinging our intertwined hands and pulling me from my thoughts.
“I can’t ruin a perfectly good surprise, babe!” I teased. “We’ll be there in a moment, anyway.”
“Aw, you know I hate surprises...”
“But I know you’ll love this one!” I smirked.
“I suppose I have to expect this, knowing what today is.” She grinned. “I love you.”
“And I love you, Quinnie.”
The conversation stopped, then, and we walked on in companionable silence. Around us, green leaves grew on the trees, the light April wind signifying that Spring was indeed upon us.
I looked at Quinn then and smiled. Sometimes it still didn’t seem real that life could be this good.
I shook my head, frowing amusedly. It also seems weird to think that I once thought I would never graduate high school...
“What’s wrong, Puck?”
She can always tell when something’s up. She knows me so well.
“Nothing. I just...I’m thinking about how much has changed for me in the last five years. I remember when I felt like I wouldn’t graduate high school, and I remember thinking after you got pregnant with Beth that you wouldn’t ever actually want to be with me.”
“But you did graduate, and I am with you. And I think I should inform you that I don’t plan on leaving. Ever.” That last sentance dripped with cheek. “Before Beth, and before the whole thing with Shelby...I was so naieve. I thought I already knew everything. I thought I only wanted Friends with Benefits, because I thought I would be better at handling life alone.”
“But you’re not alone.”
“I know.”
A comfortable silence enveloped us again, and a few minutes later, a fancy resturant came into view.
“The Little York Coffeehouse!” She squealed. “Oh, remember when we used to come here with Rachel and Kurt...”
I held the door open, and she gasped again as the pair of us walked inside.
“RACHEL! KURT!” Quinn ran towards our friends from Glee, letting go of my hand and enveloping the two in hugs.
“For being the only two other Glee kids who live here, it’s been too long since we’ve seen you!” She admonished, and I giggled.
“Rachel, Kurt! It’s wonderful to see you both!”
We took seats by a bay window, and a barista came by to take our order.
“I’ll take an espresso, please.” I began.
“Nonfat lattè.” Rachel piped up.
“I’ll just take water, thanks.” said Kurt.
“I’ll take an espresso as well.” Quinn said to the barista. “With a shot of vanilla flavoring.”
“Wonderful, I’ll be back with those in a minute.” The barista said, sprinting away.
“So Rachel, how’s the pregnancy?”
“It’s going well! I’m 32 weeks along now. The doctor said the baby wouldn’t be in any danger if she came now, and thankfully, that I wouldn’t either.
“And you’re a surrogate for Kurt and Blaine, aren’t you?” Quinn interrogated.
“Well, when they asked, I just couldn’t say no!” the short brunette answered cheerfully. “Jesse took the idea in stride, of course.”
“I think he was more on board with the idea when Blaine and I asked him to be the Godfather.” Kurt added dryly.
“You two are going to be the best dads! Where is Blaine today, anyway?”
“He’s stuck at work. He would have loved to see you both, especially to celebrate your anniversary. Ah well, I bet you’ll see him tomorrow, if not later today!” He giggled behind his hand and winked.
I shot him a glare. Dude, that’s supposed to be a surprise.
“Noah...” I gulped. Quinn, on my request, did not use my first name often-except for when she spoke in her warning voice, like, you best tell me what’s going on right now, Mr. The way she said it now seemed to be one such of those times.
“What did he mean by that?”
I smirked (and so did Rachel and Kurt, who knew what the surprise was. In fact, she, Kurt, Jesse, and Blaine were going to be joining us). Before I could speak, however, the barista walked over with our drinks.
“Here you go guys! Have a great day!” She left, and I decided to spoil half of the surprise.
“Hey Quinn...how would you like to go to Lima today?”
She gasped in response, obviously elated.
Her exitement was all the answer I needed.
-
“We’ll see you two at the airport in an hour.” I said in farewell.
“Does...that mean they’re coming with us?” Quinn asked me, puzzled, as we stepped outside where it had started to sprinkle.
“That makes you happy, I hope?”
“Ecstatic, of course! But Puck, this is a lot to take in...what’s happening, and why didn’t you tell me about this? It seemed like Kurt and Rach already knew.”
“Surprises, surprises, dear! It’s a special day!”
“Can you promise me that there will be no surprises tomorrow? That you’ll tell me exactly what’s going on tomorrow?”
“I can’t promise that, dearest.” I smirked.
“...I really wish that my birthday wasn’t the day after our anniversary sometimes.” She grumbled.
I smirked again.
-
Several hours later, we were on a plane to Lima. Quinn was asleep next to me, her head on my shoulder. I caressed her short blonde hair, but looked up when Rachel spoke across the asle.”
“Hey Puck! You nervous?”
“Despite the fact that I’ve known that I’ve wanted to marry this girl since high school...yes, I am.”
“Well, I think it’s good to be nervous. That’s how you know you’ve made the right choice.” said Jesse.
His wife next to him linked her arm in his. “I agree. I think nerves are based on instinct.”
“Deep.” I chuckled.
“You guys are a match made in heaven. She’ll say yes, I guarentee it.” Kurt, ever the romantic, piped up from behind me.
“I hope so.” I patted the sleek black box that was in my pocket.
“Can I see the ring?”
I pulled it from my pocket. “Just don’t pull it out of the box, Rach.”
She gaped. “Wow, it’s gorgeous, Puck. She’ll love it.”
“For that price, she’d better,” I muttered.
“Hey! It’s not the price that matters, but the girl-or boy-you’re giving it to!” Kurt admonished.”
I raised my hands in mock surrender at the look the man was giving me. “You’re right, you’re right.”
-
Until the plane landed, I didn’t realize I’d fallen asleep.
“Quinn.” I whispered, attempting to shake her awake. “Quinnie bear.”
Kurt looked over and rolled his eyes. Apparently, he was having the same problem witn Blaine. These two could sleep through a tornado.
“Quinn!” I said, more loudly this time.
Eventually, I debated on using her first name, though I knew how much she hated it. Finally, at the risk of being punched when she woke up, I decided to.
“Lucy,” I said, speaking loud and clear.
Instantly, Quinn’s head popped up like a daisy. “My name’s not Luc-wha...-“
I giggled. “We’re here, love.”
She smiled in realization.
“Did you succeed in waking Blaine, Kurt?”
“I’m getting there, but he sleeps deeper than a bear in hibernation.”
I laughed outright, along with Rachel and Jesse, who had already pulled down their luggage from the above compartment.
“Blaine!” Kurt half-shouted.
“Are we there yet...?” Blaine mumbled, opening his eyes reluctantly.
“Yes, and that’s why you need to wake up.”
“Fine,” he grumbled, and the rest of us around him, even Quinn who was fully awake now, chuckled.
The two men stood up, pulling their own luggage from the top compartment, and Quinn and I did the same.
As we walked out of the airport, Quinn asked, “Are you at least going to tell me where we’re going?”
“We’re all staying at my Dads.” Rachel answered. Not sigular, as in Dad’s, but plural, as in more than one.
“Oh, well thank you.”
“Yeah, thanks Rachel. That’s very kind of you and your parents.”
Later that night, after a delicous dinner of (meat free for Rachel) spaghetti and garlic bread, and a dessert of strawberry cheesecake, and singing a few somgs at the piano (as former glee club kids, we couldn’t resist), we went off to bed, not rising until morning.
-
Happy birthday, Quinnie bear!” I whispered, kissing her on the forehead as she slowly woke up.
“Thanks baby. I love you.”
“I love you too.”
“Should I shower first, or do you want to?” She asked, sitting up.”
I grinned wickedly. “Together?”
She rolled her eyes, and amused smile forming on her lips.
“Do we really have time for that, with all of the magical...birthday stuff you have planned for today?”
Touchè. “Fine. I’ll let the birthday princess go first, of course, since you’ll probably need just short of forever to get ready.”
She stood up, sticking her toungue out at me playfully before she walked to the bathroom.
I smiled amusedly and walked to the kitchen to get some breakfast.
“Today’s the day!” Kurt cheered when he saw me. “You excited?”
“I feel like I might vomit. Whether that’s from nervousness or exitement, I can’t tell.”
“Don’t worry, it’s gonna go great!”
“I talked to Shelby, Coach Sue, Mr. Schue, Emma, Sam, Tina, Mercedes, Mike, Brittney, Santana, and Artie a few minutes ago, They want to know what time you want them there.”
“Well, I’ll hopefully be bringing Quinn around one, so maybe just before then, I guess. Remember how Mr. Schue had all the teachers give Emma flowers as she walked through the halls? I think I’m going to have you guys, Mike, Britt, Tina, Santana, Mercedes, Sam, Artie, little Beth, Shelby, Emma, Coach Sue, and Mr. Schue do the same thing.”
-
Quinn stepped out of the shower gingerly, mind racing. I wonder if today’s the day? No, he’d wait until we’re back in New York for that. Right? Just in case, I should dress nice...
After looking through the clothes I brought multiple times, and feeling grateful that I brought a few dressy articles of clothing as well as casual clothes, I evetually chose a spaghetti strapped yellow sundress with white polka dots.
After brushing my hair, applying some light makeup, and painting my nails a bright cherry red, I walked out to the kitchen where Kurt was making pancakes. I turned until I found Puck. “Your turn for the shower, love.”
“You look incredible. I’ll be back!”
“Happy birthday, Quinn!” Kurt shouted then, when he eventually spotted me.
“Happy birthday!” Rachel said, walking forward to hug me.
“Thanks, guys.”
If he doesn’t ask today, I hope he does soon.”
-
She sighed, looking around contentedly at all the people who felt like family regardless of whether she Puck proposed today or not.

The Basics
KITTY GEORGIA WILDE is sixteen seventeen and a junior at William McKinley High School. She identifies as heterosexual and her endgame is with Jake Puckerman. She wasn’t switched at birth, but she is still waiting for her test results. She is currently dating Ryder Lynn. Unfortunately for you, she is TAKEN.
Nature vs. Nurture
Kitty is quick-witted, cunning, judgmental, and harsh, but she can also be loyal, intuitive, impatient, and stubborn.
The Story
Kitty Wilde was born on October 4th near midnight to Matthew and Ruth Wilde, a megachurch pastor and a trophy wife, and brought into a world of mansions, silver spoons and gold-embossed Bibles. From an early age, she was taught that God came first, appearances second, and anything else after that, and the Wildes kept up their appearance as the perfect, blond, beautiful family every Sunday at church. Despite the relative nightmare of being a PK (pastor’s kid), Kitty’s childhood was idyllic; she spent weekends with her best friend Marley, and she dragged the poor girl to horseriding, dancing, and gymnastics, all paid for by her father’s job. Growing up, Kitty was very aware that her mother didn’t love her father like he loved her, but she never questioned it; their relationship worked, and it provided a stable foundation for her life, so who was she to doubt it?
Despite going to a Christian school her entire life, when it came to high school, lobbied for her parents to enroll her in McKinley High, purely so that she could go to the same school as Marley and fulfill her high school dream of being a popular cheerleader, with her best friend beside her. She never had any doubt that, with her cunning nature and quick wit, she’d have the school wrapped around her little finger in no time. True to her word, she joined the cheerleading team, and despite not being captain, managed to have all the other cheerleaders bending to her every will out of pure fear. She also made her family proud and earned a brand new red convertible when she announced that she had started a celibacy club, with a respectable number of members (the majority of them being intimidated cheerleaders).
Despite her protests, Coach Sylvester insisted that she joined the Glee club, and Kitty reluctantly went to the first rehearsal of the year. Despite being completely determined to hate it, when Mr. Schue pulled her up onstage and paired her up with Jake for a dance routine, she remembered how much she’d loved her childhood dance lessons, and begrudgingly admitted to herself that she didn’t mind it. She had a confidence onstage that, despite her quick quips and attitude, she’d never really felt before. Not that she’d ever admit it, of course, if anyone asks her what she thinks, she’ll say that Mr. Schue looks like a middle-aged Chik-Fil-A employee who’s watched one too many inspirational TED talks, and that the club is full of mouth breathers on a constant sugar high.
She’d never, ever admit it, but when Sam dumped her, it damn near broke her heart. Despite what anyone thought, she really liked being with him, and she liked the feeling of being wanted. She had even considered breaking her celibacy pledge, just because she wanted to be close to him like that. It was devastating when he broke up with her. Ryder’s sweet and all, but let’s be real, he’s a total rebound, and she doesn’t know if she’ll feel the same way about another guy anytime soon. Sam made her put some walls up that will take a lot of work for any guy to break down, and she vowed to never let another guy break her heart like that. When you’re Kitty Wilde, you don’t get your heart broken; you break them instead.
Major Connections
Marley Fabray: Kitty has always been one of Marley’s best friends since they met in Sunday School. The two have almost no secrets and can frequently be found walking the halls of McKinley together - well, when they aren’t with their boyfriends, at least. Of course, they can be a bit competitive, especially since Kitty really wanted that head Cheerio position, but they’re more likely to team up against others than themselves. They know all of the other’s secrets, including the fact that Marley actually has had sex and that Kitty actually made out with Mason.
Mason McCarthy: Kitty assumed Mason was gay for the longest time, so she might’ve acted differently around him than she would’ve otherwise, like by touching him more and treating him like a GBF. Then she found out he was straight (or at least that he liked girls), and, not going to lie, she kind of got interested. And maybe after Kitty and Sam broke up they made out once and Mason has a huge crush on her, but she’s with Ryder now and she doesn’t intend on changing things.
Sam Evans: So these two dated and everything seemed fine to Kitty. Sam was a gentleman who never pressured her to do anything against her religion (even if she sometimes wanted him to). She got him to join glee club and they had fun together, and she thought they were at least cute together…And then Sam dumped her rather abruptly only to start dating one of Kitty’s least favorite people, Santana, like, a day later. Yikes. And Kitty doesn’t even know Sam cheated on her with Kurt, though she assumes he cheated on her with Santana. Double yikes. And now Kitty is dating Sam’s best friend. Triple fucking yikes.
Ryder Lynn: Okay, so when Sam cheated on her, Kitty was honestly heartbroken. But hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, and a Kitty Wilde scorned? Ouch. Much worse. So when she realized Ryder was available, Kitty easily got him in her grips and soon the two were dating. Ryder does actually like Kitty, at least a little, but she’s also really bossy and obviously hates his best friend, so he’s confused. He'd love to double date with Sam and his girlfriend, Santana, like he does with Marley and Noah, but Kitty would never let that happen.
Rachel McCarthy: They don’t like each other purely because Rachel and Marley don’t get along. While Kitty thinks she would’ve made a better captain than Marley, she can’t stand that Rachel thinks she’s better than her best friend and refuses to put up with that BS. Marley can bite when need be, but Kitty’s got claws. Rachel would have no qualms with Kitty if it wasn’t for the fact that she defends Marley and that she attacks her best friend, Santana. Because of that, it’s war.
Santana Lopez: Kitty is besties with Marley and Santana is besties with Rachel. Marley and Rachel don’t get along, so Kitty and Santana don’t get along. They’re also pretty loud and opinionated and rude, so they just don’t get along well. And, to just make it even worse, Santana is dating (well, “dating”) Sam, Kitty’s ex, and they started dating pretty much a day after Sam broke up with Kitty. Naturally, Kitty assumes Sam cheated on her with Santana, so she hates her guts even more now. Since Santana has promised not to out Sam, she hasn’t told Kitty the truth.
Jake Puckerman: Kitty drives Jake crazy, and the feeling is mutual. Kitty finds his whole “bad boy” schtick hilarious and fake as hell, and Jake feels the same way about her attempt at seeming pure. The two of them tend to disagree on everything, but as the two best dancers in glee club, they often get paired together for dances. And their chemistry? It’s off the charts. Maybe if Kitty stopped being so stuck-up and Jake stopped pretending to be some brooding badboy they could actually get along, and maybe even be more than friends. But for now, they just bicker and argue while Kitty goes off holding hands with Ryder.

DARREN CRISS, CISMALE ; LOOK ITS BLAINE HUMMEL-ANDERSON THEY ARE KNOW DOING NEW DIRECTIONS DIRECTOR & DRAMA TEACHER AT MCKINLEY, AT THE AGE OF FORTY-TWO YEARS OLD YOU COULD SAY IT WHAT A PRETTY MUNDANE LIFE . UNLESS OF COURSE THEY PAST IS CATCHING UP TO THEM YOU KNOW AFTER HE'S BEING STALKED BY A FAN.
hi guys!! my name is marit and i’m super excited to be here!. pls free to hmu either here or on discord if you’d like to plot, or like this post & i’ll message you! soooo, here’s what you missed on glee in blaine h-a’s life:
after getting married to kurt, moving back to new york & graduating from nyu, blaine became a broadway actor & a singer-songwriter. over the years he starred in several musicals, including west side story (tony), grease (danny zuko) & hairspray (link larkin) and he ended up winning several tony’s & a grammy.
despite their love for the city, kurt & blaine eventually decided to move back to ohio, so they could be closer to their family.
blaine (or mr. h-a, as some of his students call him) is now mckinley’s drama teacher and the director of the new directions & he cares about his students a lot. if your character ever needs to talk to an adult, needs advice, an emergency juice box or ANYTHING else don’t be afraid to approach him, even if it’s 3am!! he went all mr. schue on his glee students & gave them all his phone number. he’s here and he will try his best not to won’t judge.
before he became a drama teacher at mckinley, he worked at an elementary school for a few years and he honestly was the dorkiest kind of teacher you can imagine. he wore costumes to work sometimes, performed all kinds of fun plays with the kids & also did quite a lot of singing & dancing with them during his lessons. but when mckinley offered him a job as a drama teacher (as he’d already been working there as the glee club director) he took it, knowing it would be more convenient to work in one place.
family is the MOST IMPORTANT THING to him though!! he’d do anything for his kids & husband and he just wants his kids to be happy. he’s never been close to his own father (although their relationship has gotten better over the years, especially since kurt & blaine started having kids) so he wants to make sure his own kids have someone they can always rely on & who’s supportive of them, no matter what. he’ll be there at every sports game or competition to cheer them on. he’s also the kind of parent that gave them the talk™ quite early on (condoms included - BE SAFE KIDS) and he’s okay with them having a sip of his wine, just to try it. he tries to be strict sometimes but…. he’s just not good at it. it’s not like there’s zero rules or anything, but he believes that giving his kids some freedom and letting them ~experiment~ with things at home is better than having them sneak out and do god-knows-what behind his back.
i think that’s pretty much it for now?? i might add more later. basically, i’m just keeping everything canon apart from the blainofsky relationship if that’s alright?? i’d prefer to say that blaine briefly dated an npc if that’s okay <3 and if you have any questions, don’t be afraid to ask!!

Moving to New York was by far one of the best things that could’ve happened for his and Blaine’s sex life. Sebastian was ocassionally there but with work, and now Mike, he just wasn’t around as often. And while Kurt missed him, it did seem to be what he and Blaine needed. They no longer had to worry about being quiet or waiting until they were the only ones in the house. Really, if they could and Kurt knew both of them didn’t have  any outside obligations, that they would have a day where they’d do nothing but have sex and make use of the many toys Wes inexplicably got Kurt for his birthday.
But lately it felt like things had been slowing down and it wasn’t really either of their faults. With Kurt in NYADA and busting his ass to get into the Winter Showcase (which he was mainly doing so he could beat Rachel into being one of the few freshmen to get that privilege) and Blaine trying to have a “normal” job they didn’t cross paths as much as they used to and their sex lives were about as active as they were in Lima - active but nowhere near the levels it should be when they were alone and didn’t need to sleep.
A few months later it hadn’t been much different. Kurt had been even busier since he got the coveted spot Rachel was after because he had to prove to everyone else just how good he was and he had to settle it once and for all to Rachel that he was better than her and there were no drugs involved. He was going for something muted or something that would just show off his voice and had no need for props or dances so Rachel couldn’t corner him or tattle to Carmen that he was taking drugs and had allegedly been taking them since high school. Kurt couldn’t prove her wrong (although she couldn’t be proven right) and if they wanted a test… well it might expose him as a vampire so it was best to play it safe but still destroy the competition. Which shouldn’t be too hard. When it came to his voice, Kurt knew that he’d be able to stun people with his talent. While choosing the song, Kurt had toyed with the idea of singing ‘Maria’ from West Side Story to prove that he was the better choice for Tony than Finn would ever be - Kurt still didn’t understand Mr Schue’s reasoning behind that other than facilitating Rachel’s obsessive need to play Maria that she would leave the Glee club and ruin everyone’s chances of getting into a good college without doing well in competitions because she didn’t play that role in high school, despite the fact she could easily play it on a real stage when she left NYADA and it would actually lead her somehwere.
However, it was Rachel. Logic never really applied to her unless she was getting all the attention.
The big day of the Winter Showcase finally came along and Kurt had thankfully settled on a song. Close Every Door was slightly overdone but not as much as some other songs, and it was emotional. It would do the job and prove to everyone, especially Rachel, that he deserved to be here. Kurt did toy with the idea of doing what he did best - singing songs traditionally done by a woman but this was his first time here. He didn’t want to be too controversial. So he’d wait until at least next year to how what he was capable of. Maybe if Rachel was in the showcase next year - she was talented so she probably would be once they stamped that diva attitude out of her - he’d sing Defying Gravity so show he could actually hit that high F with little trouble. Kurt hadn’t actually tried it since turning into a vampire, but singing was easier in general now - it would probably sound even better if he tried it now.
One thing he wasn’t prepared for was what he was going to wear. Kurt must have gone through about fifty different outfits - thank God for superspeed letting him change so quickly- when he finally turned around to Blaine and raised his eyebrows “I don’t know, what do you think about this one?”
In a blink of an eye, he’d been pinned against the wall, face-first, while Blaine growled behind him “I’m guessing that’s a yes,” Kurt chuckled, waiting until Blaine loosened his grip when he turned and pinned Blaine against the wall, letting their lips brush “But you need to wait… I think when we come back after I win tonight, we’ll enjoy it more. It’ll be more reason to celebrate.” Kurt let his eyes trail down to Blaine’s lips before smirking as he pulled back a little bit, just so he could hold Blaine’s gaze “Now go get dressed,” He whispered before sauntering over to his vanity table.

See You Again - Reunited
Marley had never been one to go to parties, but here she was going to one anyways. Her roommate/best friend thought it’d be a good idea to go the one tonight, especially because it was some big thing for the school. And it’s not like Marley didn’t want to go, she just never thought about it. Getting ready was slightly more stressful for the girl since she wanted to really look good, but soon they were out the door and at that party.
After a while of dancing and having fun, Marley started to make her way to where the drinks were to get something. As she passed her way through the crowd, she ran into someone and started apologizing like crazy until she saw who it was: Finn Hudson. She had met him before in school, and now here they were at the same college party. “Finn, hi. It’s Marley Rose. I’m not sure if you remember me…”
Finn was definitely not the party kind of guy given his awkward dance moves and tendency to hurt anyone close to him. But for some reason, he had allowed his roommate to convince him to attend one of the last parties of the year. He didn’t want to go but he had made a lot of friends these past few years and he wanted to bid those graduating goodbye in case he never ran into them again. Some were going off to New York, California, and even Alaska, for job opportunities and he was probably going to be stuck in Ohio. He wanted nothing more than to escape this town but due to not getting into his dream college, he had to stick to the state university. He didn’t know anyone here and it really sucked because with new students came a new reputation.
His saving grace was the football scholarship Coach Beiste had been able to procure for him. It wasn’t the greatest and only for two years but he kept his grades up enough to qualify for another one once his two years was gone. His mother had made enough from her house-cleaning job to buy him a car and now, he was in his last year of college and about a month away from becoming a teacher. So why shouldn’t he be celebrating? It was on campus, he didn’t have to drive. It was the perfect set up. He was coming back from the drink table when he felt someone bump into him. His beer spilt on the floor and as he looked down to make sure it didn’t spill on her, he recognized the girl immediately. “Marley. Oh my gosh, hi. What are you doing at a college party?”
Marley laughed because of his question. He wasn’t sure if it was because she was at a party, or just didn’t expect to see her again, but the question was there anyways. “My roommate convinced me to come along and so I did. But I go to the school. Have for about two years now.” She explained, though she felt like she was rambling to him out of the shock of seeing him again. Outside of Unique, Ryder, and Jake, she didn’t really see anyone from McKinley anymore. However, she was definitely happy about this run-in.
“What are you doing here? Are you visiting?” She asked him, unsure if he went to the school. And if so, how was it that they just now saw each other. Sure, it was a big place, but it wasn’t like Harvard or something and she should’ve seen him once or twice before, not not at all. “How have you been?”
“Y…You’re roommate? How are you graduating already? You were like two years under me at McKinley.” He laughed, pulling her in for a hug. “Sorry I just, you’re the first face from McKinely that I’ve seen. Its so hard to know that Rachel and everyone got to go to New York and I’m here, you know?” He stated, rubbing the back of his neck. “I just find it weird how we’ve managed to miss each other these past two years. How is that possible?” He chuckled, stepping around the spilt beer and extending his hand. “Would you like to dance? Its feeling a bit crowded right here.” He offered, just happy to finally have a friend in all this busy commotion.
Once they were out on the floor, Finn decided to finally answer her questions. “I’m a student here as well. I got here because of a very gracious recommendation later from Coach Beiste. It allowed me to play football for two years. And my good grades allowed me to stay.” He stated, his hands falling to rest on her waist. “As for how I’ve been, well, tired mostly. I had no idea that the teaching program was so grueling. I just have one more paper to write and then its off to graduation. What about you? How’ve you been?”
A smile came to Marley’s face as he hugged her and nodded as they parted. “Yeah, her name’s Alice. And I did some college courses in high school so I’m graduating earlier than expected. It was cheaper for Mom and I that way.” She explained her situation. She couldn’t even drink legally yet and there she was graduating. Though she was ready to get out and do her own thing. “Your fine. I haven’t seen anyone else much either. I mean, I Skype with Unique, Ryder, and Jake, but they’re all off doing their things. I’m really happy to see you.” She grinned at him. “I have no idea how that happened, but at least we’re seeing each other now.” She watched him as he moved and then down at his extended hand. Her heart jumped as he asked her to dance and just nodded. “Yeah, I’d love to dance.” She took his hand and let him lead the way.
She listened to him over the music and paid close attention to his answers. She really couldn’t believe they had missed each other all these years. “That’s great you got that. I got some scholarships, but do have student loans.” She told him. She took a deep breath as his hands found her waist and stayed focused on their conversation right now. This was Finn, not a random guy. Things were friendly. “You’re in the teaching program too? We really have an act for missing each other.” She laughed. “I’m alright. Glad school’s finally over. I’m ready to start a life.”
Finn nodded along as she explained her situation, remembering her mom and how hard they struggled in high school. It was good to see her again but deep down, he wondered why it had taken him this long to realize they went to the same college. “Really? That must have been done after I graduated or soemthing because I don’t remember that as an option when I was a senior. I guess Sue, despite all her crazy, actually did some good.” He stated, only just now realizing that they seemed to be the only ones dancing. There were people making out and some looked to be heading upstairs and a slight blush crept onto his face as he looked away. “I try to skype with Rachel a few times a week but she’s so busy on Broadway that she doesn’t really have a lot of time. I did find out that Puck and Quinn got married and he’s in the Marines now. They live out in California and seem pretty happy. As for Santana, well, she’s still the same. Married to Brittany and expecting a kid.” He trailed off, his face falling as he thought of all his friends being gone and him being stuck there by himself.
But he cleared his head and instead focusing on the one bright light in his life at the moment. Trying to figure out how they kept missing one another in the same field made him laugh. “Maybe its because I don’t have classes before 10am? Football practice consumes my life and I just can’t get up early in the morning. You were always early to Glee Club so I know you can. Maybe that’s why.” He laughed, blushing softly when a drunken idiot pushed Marley flush against him. “Do you have any jobs lined up after you leave? I thought about going to Dalton and teaching there because I highly doubt if Sue would let me back at McKinley.”
Marley shrugged as he mentioned Sue. “Things definitely changed after Glee was cut. Um, it was all academic. I was excelling at everything else so I took college courses. By the time I graduated high school, I was able to be on a good track to graduating soon here.” She smiled at him. “Sorry if I’m rambling. I don’t mean to.” She blushed slightly and took a deep breath as she saw him blush a bit too, only to find that it was probably because they were officially the only ones not making out. She looked back at him as he talked about his friends and nodded. “I actually went to Puck and Quinn’s wedding. Jake needed a date and no one fills a seat better than me.” She joked, giving a small laugh. “Everyone’s definitely busy it seems. I mean, Jake has his dance thing and Ryder plays football in Michigan, and Unique’s going into performing too in New York. Then Kitty’s a cheerleader at a university in California. Seems everyone got out but us.” She tried to be funny, but really she knew how much it sucked. At least for her.
As he gave an idea on how they missed each other, she nodded. “That’s probably it. I do a lot of morning classes. Some night. And I work during the day.” She shrugged before giving a soft yell of surprise when she was pushed against Finn. She blushed as she stepped back and looked up at him. “Um, not really. I’m gonna try McKinley because, well, my mom and I can live at home, but really I’m going to put in anywhere nearby. What do you plan on teaching?”
“Yeah, I heard about that. Did Mr. Schue really go to Dalton to teach Glee there? I mean, he was capable of it and kinda better at teaching Glee than History. I hope he’s happy at least. He must have taken it pretty hard.” Finn said, making a mental note to go by and see him soon. Mr. Schue had been a father to him and he wanted to check in and see if he’d gotten everything he wanted. Hearing her comments, he laughed and shook his head. “You’re more than just a seat filler, Marls. If Jake still couldn’t see that, then that’s his loss. I wanted to go but I had a final the next day and you and I both know how crazy parties can get where the old gang is concerned.” He laughed, his nose crinkling. “I sent them a waffle maker though. You would have thought Puck had won the lottery.” He grinned, rubbing the back of his neck. “I’m so out of the loop on everyone. I knew they would all do good and we couldn’t all live in Lima forever but it definitely feels lonely, you know? I do find it surreal that you’re still here though. You were better than this town and I always thought you’d do well in New York. But call me selfish, I am glad you’re here with me.”
Finn shook his head and let out a sigh. “I don’t know how you do it. I think my body is old and worn down because of the years of football but it doesn’t wake up before 10am and then I have one class at 11, lunch, then two back to back. And then I have workouts in the gym and football practice from 6-9 so by the time I get time to study, I’m too exhausted to think.” He explained, noticing the blush on her face but not actually thinking too much about it. He’d blushed earlier too and it hadn’t meant anything. “That’s good. And its not like it was that bad of a school. We both graduated with good grades. The bullying and social cliques were a problem but surely its changed with Sue in charge.” He finished, focusing on the question at hand. “I want to teach young kids so I’m looking at becoming a kindergarten teacher. I think I could do some good given that my immaturity level is right around there.” He joked, so caught up in their conversation that he didn’t realize the music had stopped and moved on to something more upbeat.
Marley nodded at his question about Mr. Schue. “He did. It was hard without him. He was the only teacher that understood any of us.” She took a deep breath and sighed. “He’s not the only one who took it hard.” She sighed and tried to build back up the pep she had a moment ago. She smiled as he laughed. “It’s more like I saw that. He always wanted to try again, but i could never like him anymore than just a friend after everything that happened in high school. The wedding was nice though. Not too crazy, but I think that was because of Puck’s mom wanting it to be nice.” She smiled. “I’m sure Puck and Quinn love the waffle maker.” Marley took a deep breath and nodded. “I know the feeling. I can’t afford to be anywhere else and I knew immediately my music career would never take off. I’d rather be here though. And I’m glad I ran into you.” She smirked.
She shrugged. “Lots of coffee and desire to help out my mom. Other than that, I can’t tell you how I manage to do all this.” She laughed softly. “You seem very busy though. I’m not sure how you do it. At least school is over soon, right?” She asked and looked into his eyes. “Not everything changed at the school because of her. It was just… different. I wouldn’t mind teaching there, but I’m glad I graduated. I wouldn’t want to be a student there ever again.” She listened to what he wanted to be and smiled. “You’d be great teaching children. Really would. It seems perfect.” She hadn’t given much thought as to what she wanted to teach just yet, but she knew she’d figure it out. Or she hoped.
“I know how much we meant to him and how hard he tried to make the club work. And we gave him a Nationals Trophy that he wanted so desperately to win so he should definitely hold his head up. And Dalton is amazing and if anyone can make it to Nationals again, it would be him. And perhaps one day, the opportunity to start a new one will arise and we can be a part of it again. And even though Mr. Schue recruited me by fake planting weed in my locker, it turned out to be the best time of my life and I still find myself singing in the shower.” He laughed, shaking his head. “Talk about embarrassing when the roommate walks in and hears me.” As she talked more about the wedding, a feeling of happiness crossed over him when she told him that she had no interest in Jake anymore. He always thought she was better than him anyway and now to hear her realize it herself made him proud to be her friend. “I’m glad that you realized it before he sucked you back into another bad relationship.” He admitted, before biting his lip at her next sentence. “It sucks doesn’t it? To know that you were so good at something but because of circumstances beyond your control you had to give it up? You will sing for people, Marley Rose, it may just take you a while. I still have as much faith in you now as I did then.”
“Well that will definitely be worth it. I know its not healthy but since I don’t like coffee, I’ve been drinking those energy drinks. I don’t really like the taste but it gets me through the day.” He shrugged, not removing his hand from the small of her back. Being pushed into her was fulfulling some subconscious desire he already had so instead of backing away, he held her tighter, a small smile crossing his features. The slow song had long ended but they’d been so engrossed in one another, they didn’t notice. “I can’t believe its almost time to graduate again. It feels like only yesterday I entered college and now here I am, about to embark on yet another adventure I’m not prepared for.” Grinning wide, he laughed and nodded his head. “She might be a horrible person but somehow, she still seemed to care about things. She’d never admit it out loud but she does. It wouldn’t be terrible to teach under her. I guess I’ll have to wait and see if they require my services.” He paused, scratching the back of his neck. “Well what do you feel like you’d want to teach?”
Marley nodded as he talked, remembering exactly why they sucked the year everything fell apart for them. If she had just been okay, she wouldn’t have collapsed on stage and they probably would’ve won. “Well, I’m sure he’s going to do great there. He’s a great teacher and the’re a great Glee club.” She gave a slightly forced smile that time before genuinely laughing. “Don’t worry, I sing in the shower too. I’m sure we all probably do.” She shrugged as they talked about Jake. “After what happened, how could I possibly trust him? I’m not that kind of girl.” She sighed. “Even if I had the right circumstances, I don’t think I would’ve done it. No one liked my song writing, and it just seems not meant to be.” She smiled. “But thanks, Finn. I appreciate it.”
“I think we all drink those. I mean, I like coffee, but I also go for the energy drinks too.” She told him. Her heart skipped a bit as they were now closer and he was holding her tighter. She was trying to fight herself on what she was feeling, but she couldn’t help but like the closeness to Finn. “It’s like after high school, time goes by so much quicker. It’s completely crazy that I’ll be wearing a cap and gown again. I honestly can’t believe it.” Marley shrugged. She didn’t have a good relationship with Sue. Sure, she did that one Christmas for her and helped her with getting better, but there was still a lot she wasn’t sure about. “I guess it depends how she treats you still. You’re a teacher, or almost a  teacher now and deserve to be treated with respect. She doesn’t always do that.” What would she want to teach? She really wasn’t sure about that. She loved kids, but she felt like her skills were more high school level. “I’m not sure. I could do either, I guess. Whatever job comes my way. I’m qualified for both English and teaching kids.”
“That’s true. If anyone can restore their reputation back to its former glory, its Mr. Schue.” He added, looking down at her and smiling. He figured that would be the end of the conversation because as much fun as it was to reminiscence about high school, he wanted to talk more about her and what she’d been up too since then. He laughed and shook his head, a big smile crossing his features. “Once a gleek, always a gleek. Its kind of ironic that I hated being one at first.” Finn laughed, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. “Your songs were nowhere near as bad as some I’ve heard before. You should have been here when we tried to do original songs. Puck’s song was pretty damn bad. And Brittany literally wrote one about a coffee cup. It was… whew, not good.” He chuckled, shrugging his shoulders. “Yours at least made sense. Are you still writing songs at least?”
“I heard they’re not exactly good for you. Something about rapid heartbeats. I drink them in moderation. I limit it to two, three a week. For the rest of it, I rely on soda or water.” He admitted, giving her a weak smile. He wasn’t exactly sure why he didn’t want to let go of her or why he was all of a sudden getting sweatly palms but he hadn’t felt like this since Rachel and it scared him. He was far to busy to even consider the implications of what it might mean. Not to mention that he didn’t want to ruin their friendship by developing feelings that he shouldn’t feel. But he also couldn’t deny how good it felt to be in her arms. “Well I can. I always knew you were smart so it makes perfect sense. I just never thought it would be at the same time as me.” He smirked, nodding along with her words. “Well apart from all the mean nicknames and her sad, and sometimes successful attempts to sabotage us, I think deep down there was some love there. Besides, its been years. I’m sure she’s changed just as much as I have.” Finally leaving the dance floor, he led her over to a table and held the chair out for her. “Oh that’d be fun. English was probably the only subject I really felt good about.” He laughed, finally taking a drink of his beverage.
“That’s true.” She smiled at him. She was envious of him because of his high school experience. He had the perfect experience and she felt like she had the worst. She honestly hoped they’d end the conversation of the past entirely. “At least you grew into it.” Marley smiled again before blushing as he moved a hair behind her ear. “I’ve heard the cup one before, but mine were nothing. They were stupid.” She shook her head. “I stopped after that year. There was no reason I should keep trying for a unrealistic dream.”
“That’s true. I don’t drink them much. Every now and then when coffee doesn’t work.” She explained. Her heart just raced, though, as they stood their touching. She knew she shouldn’t have been feeling these things. For all she knew, he could’ve been seeing someone. Or still have feelings for Rachel. She was stupid for even thinking about liking him. She laughed softly and shrugged. “It’s not that bad, right? A younger girl graduating with you. Just seems fitting to be there with someone who went to high school with me.” She shrugged. “I don’t think so. I don’t know how a person who ruined so many people’s only place they were able to be themselves can change. You had a better experience with her, I guess, but I didn’t.” She took a deep breath as he lead her off the dance floor and she sat in the chair he pulled out for her. “I really liked English. So I think it’d be a good choice, but I also think teaching children would be too.”
Finn had done enough reminsciencing for one night and instead wanted to focus on the present. He had a former classmate, a former gleek, and a friend, in his arms and he couldn’t shut up about himself and his past. He knew Marley came to McKinley after he’d already graduated and had only heard stories about how good his experience was but if she had known about the bullies, the slushies, the rumors, she wouldn’t have believed that it was all smooth sailing for him. He was a legend now but back then, he was a loser despite dating one of the popular girls in school. When Mr. Schue planted that weed in his locker, he assumed his life was over. But it had turned out to be the best time of his life. Singing in front of his mom, winning Nationals, getting a scholarship for football. It all started with being a loser. “I didn’t think they were that bad. But I might be biased. Your voice is amazing and well, I don’t think you should give up. Maybe do something else for now but always keep that voice in your mind. You’re way to good not to at least try.”
“I think its awesome that you’re graduating with me. I was expecting to blow off the after parties because I didn’t know anyone except for my teammates and a few classmates but now, it’ll be nice to see a much friendly face there. I mean, if you go of course. I’m still meh about the whole thing. I’m not really a party person. I never really got over watching everyone else have fun while I had to take drunk people home. The things I heard and saw… I could write a book.” He laughed, his head shaking at her next words. “I don’t recall ever having a pleasant conversation or encounter with her. The only time I saw her being compassionate was with Becky and even then she had her limits. She’s not evil but close enough.” He finished, shrugging his shoulders as he sat down next to her at the table. “So why not combine the two and teach English to children? That would be fun, especially with how imaginative they are. Imagine the papers you’d be grading. I’m actually envious as I sit her and talk about it.” Finn laughed, finishing off his drink and setting the glass down.
Marley was glad they stopped talking about the school and their experiences. Hers weren’t as good as his was, and she hated even thinking about them. Especially after everything she seemed to ruin. “I don’t think I’ll ever try again. Mr. Schue only liked them after protest and they couldn’t win us a trophy and YouTube hated them…” She shook her head. “The music life is not for me. I had to face that, and I did. Now I’m focusing on my future teaching career.”
She laughed softly before shaking her head. “I’m not going. This is my first and last party like this. Maybe we could grab pizza or something instead. Celebrate together that we’ve graduated. If you want to, of course.” She blushed softly before nodding to his thoughts on Sue. “She’s definitely her own person.” She commented as she watched him join her at the table. “Maybe. That’d be fun. And I do love children.” She shrugged. “I’m just unsure. I guess wherever hires me is what I’ll do.”
Finn smiled sympathetically at her but nodded. He personally found her songs nice in a naive, high school angsty kind of way and wasn’t that the whole idea of that assignment? When Rachel wrote her song that won them Regionals, it was full of angst and her personal message to what an ass he’d been. And the group song had a grammatical error but it had still been fun to write about personal experiences. He knew that if Marley had wanted to continue writing, she could have something album worthy now that she was more mature and smarter. “Well, I can’t argue with you. I mean, I could because I liked your songs and they weren’t that bad but it appears as if you’ve made up your mind so I’ll drop it. For now. I personally thought you could do anything you wanted and I’m really happy that you seem to have found it. I just hope come graduation, we’re not fighting for the same position at the same high school.” He chuckled, bumping his shoulder against hers.
At her suggestion, he nodded and took the last sip of his drink. “I’d like that. It’d certainly be quieter and we could hear ourselves think. And the food and drink would definitely be better.” He laughed, feeling his phone buzzing in his pocket. Looking down at the name, he smiled softly, a mix of happiness and disappointment on his face. “Well, I hate to do this but I actually need to go. My girlfriend is home from work and I promised her we could watch a movie of her choice. I’d much rather stay here with you because she likes the chick flicks and if I have to sit through one more Channing Tatum movie, I might literally die.” He laughed, leaning over to give her a hug. “But I will text you later and we can make plans to hang out, okay?” He said, standing up from the table and throwing his cup away. “And for the record, you’re going to be an amazing teacher, whether its kids or smart ass teenagers.” He complimented, shoving his phone back in his pocket. “Text me tonight. I want to make sure you got home safe, all right?” He asked, writing his number down on a piece of paper. “Goodnight Mar.”
