So. If it's canon that Wild doesn't have the champions anymore... And forgets that he doesn't have them...
Does he just. Forget that he doesn't have Mipha's Grace?

So I Don’t Forget Again: A Breath of The Wild fanfiction
Entry 205: Zora’s Domain
The party was so fun. After vows were exchanged we had a feast, and there was lots of music and we danced through the night. The town was lit up with candles and colorful lanterns. I got to help with the cooking, actually I was cooking most of the time and Sidon helped me. I got to teach him a lot! Sidon actually took over towards the end of the night so I could join the others and chat for a bit. I’m not used to dancing, but it seems you kinda just move however you want, so I think I was okay. There was also a lot of drinking so almost everyone was acting a little off. They kept inviting me to join them, but I have to keep my mind sharp at all times, you never know what could happen whenever. Bolson told me the construction on my house was going well so far, it should also go even faster after the party since he and his team can now get supplies from here. Though he also said that he probably didn’t have to tell me since I’d be coming back soon anyway. It was then he got the idea I go with and the others back to Hateno, everyone back home would certainly be surprised and happy. Unless he felt he needed my protection to get back I declined.
I’d love to go back, but… even if Sidon believes in my strength, I need to believe it. Doubting myself will just get me killed. Before home, I’m going to learn from Shikah and Zora.
Hudson and Sidon overheard and joined in. Sidon wondered aloud if perhaps I could have a have a second home for storage or something here, it’s close to the domain so Sidon could visit me more often than he can when I’m at Hateno, it could also just be a place for me to take a quick rest when traveling. Bolson practically sold Sidon a house on the spot. While they were talking Calisa approached me. She said that she herself had officiated many weddings for fellow travelers so if we happened to bump into one another, she could do it for Sidon and I. She then said even if we don’t wed to keep him close, we seem really good for one another.
So I guess this is a shared house since Sidon got it for me, but he’d probably get use out of it more often than I. Though I guess I will be storing some miscellaneous things here like the iron boots, weapons I have not been using, things like that so Bossa Nova doesn’t have as much to carry. Since we got to town he kept wandering off to the lake below to go swimming. He usually returns by nightfall but I think the party may have been a bit loud for him so he dug a hole and laid in it, resting his head in the deepest part.
By the time the first signs of dawn were showing most were asleep or were off doing their own thing. Sidon and I were sitting by the edge of town just talking. At some point I asked Sidon what zora weddings are like. There are more so two separate sections, the celebrating with others part and the lovers making their vows part. Celebrating with others is similar with food and music, but the dancing is a little different, and the music itself is admittedly slower and not a peppy as what we had here. As for the vows part… well he started speaking but then quickly grew quiet. When he spoke again he was rather sheepish, I only hard part of it due to him mumbling. It went along the lines of the new pair make vows to one another or of the future as they fall from a great height or waterfall into water together, then something about riding through treacherous rivers or facing some great challenge to represent how they’ll stay together no matter how harsh life may become, to prove they can and will rely on one another, and support the other. Then… Sidon wondered aloud if facing something like a Divine Beast would count as that “challenge”.
I… was not sure what he was talking about.
Kapson said facing the Divine Beast, let alone managing to fell it would most certainly count. We didn’t even realize he was near by and his abrupt answer startled us senseless. Sidon than asked him to not tell his father or anyone that he got secretly married.
I mean… I wasn’t planning on doing anything like this till the Calamity was defeated.
I was just, my mind went blank and it took me a few moments to realize what had happened. I am so slow. Only just then did it click and I kind of shouted “WE’RE MARRIED!?” They both just stared at me for a moment before Kapson said he wouldn’t tell, but everyone would probably find out from me. Calisa was also around because I heard her chuckling and she said that we didn’t need her services after all.
Sidon excused himself as he picked me up and took me to our house. He first asked me if we could agree to only be “kind of married- engaged, how about we are engaged” since if we were to get married for real we’d have to have his people there to celebrate and he knew I’d want Kass, the people of Hateno and others there, a wedding between us had to be perfect for both of us. He also wanted it to be at a time when we both felt ready for this, not before facing the Calamity of all things. And most importantly before we can get married, if we ever wanted too, he placed a big emphasis on the “if” he just really wants to make sure I don’t feel pressured by this, that he properly court me so that I’ll be just as much in love with him as he is with me. I’m pretty sure I like him more than he likes me, but he said that could not possibly be true and we kinda got into a competition over who loved the other more? Now we’re going to court each other to see who the winner is? So… we’re going to go on lots of outings together I guess. In the end we wound up cuddling for a while. He just kept hugging me and running his fingers through my hair and talking about how kind, and strong, how great I am and how he was so glad he got the chance to meet me let alone gain my affections and how much good I’ve done and how I don’t treat Sidon as a prince or Mipha’s brother, with me he’s just a person who I happen to think is amazing, he’s not different from others, he’s just completely and unabashedly accepted, and how I wasn’t like that with just him but others like how I write of Riju and Zelda now. And he just really likes me, that I’m capable of that.
Sidon was late getting back to the Domain so some guards came to collect him. He didn’t want to go back yet but did. He refused to leave before giving he a long tight hug and told me he’d be waiting eagerly for my return.
I can’t lose to him, he had been so affectionate the whole time, I never got the chance to prove I love him more! It’s always like this, he always does so much for me, he helps me get up when I’m hurting, he looks after me when I’m ill, he even made me armor and just spends his time with me. The very least I can do is force this world to be one where he can be free and travel without worry and make sure he knows I appreciate everything he does for me and that I love him so, so much! But I don’t know how to do that. What could I possibly ever do to show him all that?
The best I could do in the moment was give him a kiss and tell him he didn’t have to wait at all, that I’d accompany him back, I was planning on going there after visiting the spring of power anyway. I swear his eyes sparkled, he had such a bright smile, lifting me off the ground in a tight hug and spinning around, he was so giggly. He nuzzled into me saying he was so excited.
The trip was uneventful except for Bossa Nova wading down a different river and us having to drag him back.
And now, here we are. Sidon had a room set up for me by his. He’s busy since he didn’t get to work when he should have before.
First thing he had done though was send me to the doctors to check on my arm.
The new medicine I have has this, weird, awful taste. I hate it. And there are also going to be other tests and check-ups tomorrow. I hope the medicine is changed to something better. I also sent Amali a letter so she knows my arm is being looked after again!
I guess I’ll sleep for now, then after the tests go see the guards, ask if I can join in on their training if Sidon is too busy.
He did say he’d get back to me as soon as he could and that he would sweep me off my feet. I wonder what he has planned.

Can’t Let You Go
Word Count: 1847Warnings: Angst, fatal illness, illness symptoms, vomit mention, blood
It was a very difficult feat reducing the optimizing and headstrong Prince of the Zora to tears but when he saw you laid in bed looking as if one gust of wind could whisk you away, the tears flew so freely that one would think that he had been crying every second of his life. Only those closest to him knew that this was not the case. It was only moments like this that could make Sidon feel this way; make him feel like his entire world was crashing down on him.
Sidon had known that you were sick for a while now but it had only been a gentle cough and light fever, nothing serious. You had never whined or complained. Every time he offered to excuse himself from his work to say by you, you always told him that you didn’t want to keep the Prince from his Kingdom. You said it would pass in a few days. You said you’d be fine.
Now here you were, two weeks later, restricted almost completely to your bed, and barely able to keep your eyes open.
After the first week, Sidon couldn’t help but worry even though you insisted you were okay, he was certain that you were getting worse. The maids and healers that cared for you while he was caught up with meetings and paperwork would inform him of your condition. Telling him that your coughs were quickly becoming more aggressive, your fever remained ever present, your movements were slower and sluggish, and you could hardly eat the food brought to you and even when you did it was never for long.
It seemed like your entire day was comprised of laying in bed because your body was too weak to carry you anywhere else, trying to sleep, coughing, trying to eat meals, or puking into a basin. You were miserable even though you tried to hide it.
He couldn’t take it anymore.
So, at the advisement of the healers, he sent a letter to a Hylian doctor requesting their services. It did not take long for the doctor to arrive in the Kingdom after hearing about your symptoms and once he performed a careful examination he was able to give a full diagnosis. It was not a good one.
You had caught a virus common to Hylians during this time of year and, at first, Sidon felt relieved thinking that surely this meant a cure had been developed. His heart dropped when the doctor informed him that there was no cure and, to rub salt in his fresh wound, most of those who caught this nasty disease did not make it.
Sidon, shortly after learning this devastating news, put everything else aside so that he could ten to your needs much to your meek protest. He couldn’t bear to be away from you and nobody could blame him. The Zora remained firmly planted at your side, hardly sleeping or eating anything as he watched over you. He couldn’t look away from your pale face for even a moment; he was afraid that if he did that would be the last moment he saw you alive.
It only took one moment for the cruel hands of fate to steal all that was precious to im in life. They had stolen his mother. They had stolen Mipha. They could steal you too.
Over his dead body.
During the daytime, things were manageable. The maids brought in the meals and medicine prescribed by the doctor to help with your symptoms. It was difficult for you to enjoy even the simplest dishes prepared by the kitchen but Sidon always tried to get you to eat something, even if it was just a nibble. It took some negotiating to get you to take the medicine, however, because according to you it tasted like Bokoblin crap.
Regardless, in the end, it didn’t matter because barely an hour late later it was usually coming right back up with Sidon apologizing profusely for making you eat and you always apologized for subjecting him to this nastiness.
Aside from that, everything ran relatively smoothly with you spending most of your time trying to rest while occasionally asking him for water or a story to fill up the silence in the room. Sidon had no problem doing any of these for you; he would gladly do anything that made this whole ordeal easier for you.
At night, it was a completely different story.
At night, things became unbearable.
Your illness seemed to take sick pleasure in terrorizing you at night because every one of your symptoms became excruciating and Sidon could only watch and try to do all he could to ease our suffering.
The fever spiked and while the heat burning around your head caused you to break out in a terrible sweat, the rest of your body remained freezing cold to the Zora Prince’s touch and shivered like a leaf in a raging storm. Sidon watched as your chest shook violently from the coughing fits that progressed into hacking that then progressed into the spilling of the contents of your stomach; even when there was absolutely nothing inside of your poor stomach to spill your body showed you no mercy. You would convulse and quiver over the basin dry heaving so violently and would not stop until you were reduced to an empty husk of a person sprawled out on the bed.
It was horrifying for Sidon to watch, though he knew it was ten times worse to experience it.
Tonight, was no exception. In fact, it was the definition of torture.
Your body was being particularly ruthless and once again Sidon was practically powerless to do anything about it. His love, his sweet treasure, his everything was coughing so violently he feared they would cough up their lungs and all he could do was hold their hand and offer to get them some water even though you both knew that would not help. Still he had to do something, anything to help you. Without saying a word, your body suddenly jolted up and Sidon released his careful hold on your hand to look up at you immediately concerned by your abrupt action.
Sidon’s eyes scanned your form noticing how your body convulsed aggressively in response to the terrible fit you were currently enduring. Then just as abruptly as you stood up you stopped and then fell silent and he could see your body still shaking.
Quickly he moved to adjust his chair so that he could look at your face saying, “My love, are you alri-!” His golden eyes dilated in horror seeing the trail of crimson running down your chin and pooling into your quivering hand. His heart shattered to see that you were crying, soft sobs replacing the horrible hacking and making you look even more weak and fragile than before. You were attempting to try and catch all the blood in your hand as if ashamed and terrified by what just happened.
Sidon stood up so quickly that he knocked his chair back and it fell to the ground with such a loud clatter that he was certain he had woken the entire palace but he didn’t care. He raced to retrieve a towel and then bring it back to you carefully wiping the blood from your hand and then pressing the cloth to your mouth as you sobbed. “I-It hurts…” Your voice comes out hoarse from coughing and muffled by the cloth and Sidon can feel himself start to cry along with you.
“I know, I’m sorry,” His voice breaks and he almost can’t stand looking at you reduced to such a poor state. The tears pooling in his eyes blur his vision and his hand shakes slightly as he wipes at the corners of your mouth trying to hold himself together and put on a brave face for you. He must stay strong for you. He must stay strong. He must…
Gently laying you back down on the bed, Sidon just watches kneeling beside the bed not even bothering to recollect his chair as he lets the towel drop to the floor. “It hurts so much… I-I just want it to stop… I’m so tired…” You hiccup in between your gut-wrenching sobs your fists clinging so tightly to the bedsheets that Sidon can see your knuckles turn white. “S-Sidon make it stop…”
You’re begging for help; begging for Sidon’s help and it is only a reminder that he is completely powerless.
He wished with every bone in his body that the sickness ravaging your body was a monster, something that he could see and properly fight off to protect you. Something that he could kill so that you would be free from this agony. Unfortunately, that was only wishful thinking. Unfortunately, he couldn’t do anything but sit and watch as you withered away in front of him.
Sidon carefully climbed into the bed wrapping you up in the blankets and bedsheets like you are a young infant before laying you on his chest holding you close to him. “I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I’m so sorry,” He whispered over and over again letting you cry out all of that pain he knows that you’ve been trying to hold in for his sake while he tries his best to console you. This is the least he can do for you.
If this dastardly disease did manage to succeed in its horrid plan he wanted you to be at peace; he knew it was horrible to even admit that you could leave him but he could not ignore the fact that was entirely too real possibility. Any moment your tired body could potentially give out and you could breathe your last and he wouldn’t be able to stop it. All he could do now was comfort you, keep you happy, keep hoping that you would get through this together.
He would stay with you no matter what.
No matter what.
When the sun rose the next morning, the maids brought in the food as usual giving the Prince time to wake you and then detangle himself from your body so he could go back to his place at your side. He watched overjoyed as you ate a third of the meal – it took a while, and you refused to touch anything until he promised to eat something too – but you managed to get food in your system. You even took the medicine with no complaints and Sidon could not have felt more relieved when an hour later you didn’t need to turn to the basin so your body could reject it.
Watching you take what he could only assume to be the best nap you had taken in two weeks, Sidon finally let his worries wash away and he rest his head on the edge of the bed placing his hand over yours admiring your sleeping face. The answer to his prayers was finally laid out to him so he did not need to worry anymore.
He could see it written on your face flushed with the faint hue of your color returning to your face as you slept so peacefully. He could feel it in his heart, mind, body, and soul. He could hear it in the room as if Hylia herself was standing there clearing all of the misery that had been hanging over the two of you.
Things were going to be okay.

Elixirs 101
For @mewringo13
Link was sure that Zelda had seen him injured before. They had all sorts of adventures even prior Ganon’s return, hadn’t they? Why was she so shocked now? Of course, as he laid there clutching his leg - which was very obviously broken - the girl was fretting about as if he was dying all over again.
“It’s fine!”
“It’s completely broken! I need to find you some sort of remedy, there has to be something that can fix that,” Zelda replied desperately, and as she looked at Link, he could tell she was trying to keep her eyes on his and not on his injury. “Zelda, I spent so much time messing around with elixirs when I was all alone... I never found anything that immediately fixed a broken bone,” Link complained, “you just have to wait a little bit... or I can just try and pop it into place...” he added, somewhat distracted as he gingerly removed one of his hands and peeked into the wound of his bloodied leg.
Zelda let out a yelp, hands flying to her face. The girl could spend a century fighting an immense chaotic evil, but apparently a broken bone was enough to completely mess with her nerves.
“Don’t- Link- don’t!” she exclaimed, and, visibly disappointed, the knight stopped. “I’m going to get some ingredients. I think... I have some ideas,” she said, trying to be reassuring, but Link could hear the worry in her voice. While she was gone, he sat outside the house and began wrapping a stick to his leg. He could feel the bone pulling, but there was only one way to fix this - assuming some strange potion wouldn’t do the trick - and that was to let the bone heal back into its original shape.
By the time she got back, he was nearly dozing off in the field of flowers outside their house. Hateno Village was quiet and peaceful, and usually he enjoyed it, but he would have preferred some sort of distraction from the aching in his leg.
“Alright,” Zelda said with a smile, dropping piles of monster parts and guts onto the ground in front of Link. He peeked at them curiously, not bothering to lift his head. A frown twitched at his lips.
“Where did you get those?”
“From your stash,” she admitted nonchalantly, and Link propped his head up, giving her a disapproving look.
“I kept those hidden so you wouldn’t get hurt messing around with them. Some of those are really rare, no one really knows what they do... Careful! That’s molduga guts, they have a really potent fragrance-”
“I hope you know you’ve never been good at keeping secrets,” Zelda said calmly as she began to stir up a seemingly random collection of parts in the cooking pot she’d prepared. “I’ve always been messing with the monster parts in your stash, but I haven’t gone for some of the bigger items like these yet... mostly just Hinox toenails and Moblin parts,” she admitted, avoiding Link’s sour gaze. With a frustrated sigh, he let his head fall back, hair tossed in the grass as he stared up at the clouds. There was no keeping Zelda away from her science, and he didn’t want to anyways... It wasn’t so much about stopping her from having any fun, he just didn’t want her getting hurt from anything if he didn’t even know what the monster parts did...
“Can’t we at least ask Kilton?” Link asked, and Zelda was already shaking her head as she ladled some bright yellow elixir into a bottle.
“We’d have to wait until night time, and usually it’s best to fix things right away, isn’t it?” she suggested, and Link grumbled, reluctantly taking the bottle as she passed it to him.
“Try this... molduga guts are supposed to have medicinal qualities. You’re the one who told me that,” she added with a smile, and Link stared at her warily over the top of the open bottle.
“’Supposed’ is the key word,” he reminded her, and then downed the bottle, coughing and spurting a bit as it burned the entire way down his throat. “That’s disgusting!”
Zelda rested her hands on her hips, watching the knight intently as he tried to suck all the taste out of his mouth, shaking his head.
“You can’t pay me to drink that again,” he grumbled, and Zelda laughed, reaching forward to ruffle his hair.
“You’re fine, Hero,” she said with a smirk, but then curiosity overtook her. “So?”
“Um- nothing, yet,” he responded, “but I might puke.”
Zelda hummed, and then a new idea seemed to strike her. She jumped to her feet.
“I’m going to get some help, alright?” and the girl was gone, running across the bridge of their Hateno house. Link watched her go with just one eye open, and then laid back again, content to lay in the sun and wait for his bones to heal. Molduga guts might have had medicinal qualities, but he had no clue if they would actually help his leg heal or not; if she was going to continue making new elixirs, there would be no way of knowing what was helping and what wasn’t.
Over the next few days, Zelda brought a variety of people in to help, and tested a variety of elixirs on Link all throughout - she almost seemed to be enjoying the opportunity to play around with new monster parts and recipes. Link found himself sprouting gills and watching them disappear in the light of the sun, his feet harden like stone and then turn softer than a newborn baby’s, and his hair turned ash black for two days before fading back into the familiar dark blonde.
Kilton was one of the ‘friends’ Zelda enlisted, but the man seemed uninterested in the cutesy vibe of their Hateno house and more interested in looking closely - too closely - at Link’s wound. Prince Sidon came as well, and although he didn’t have healing powers like Mipha, he sure tried his best to unlock them.
“Yes - I can feel it now, I’m sure of it! Don’t worry, Link, I’m sure I can find it within myself to heal you!”
The giant shark held a webbed hand over Link’s leg, shut his eyes, and hummed in concentration, but it was clear he wasn’t 100% sure how the healing was supposed to work, and a moment later let out a yell and slammed his hand down upon Link’s leg. The knight screamed in shock, and Zelda quickly slammed a hand over his mouth, but he kept going until the agonizing pain subsided.
“Sidon!” Link yelled, “why?”
“It just came to me,” the Zora said, looking taken aback. He shook his head a moment later. “I’m sorry, Link! I don’t think healing is my forté after all.”
Finally, after close to two weeks, Link’s leg was feeling better. He was walking on his own without a stick, and Zelda completely took credit for it thanks to the most recent elixir she’d given him before he refused anymore. The knight let her have it, and she compiled an entire recipe book to give to Kilton, complete with notes from her findings. From that point on, he became increasingly more and more careful - not having to drink boiled molduga guts turned out to be pretty good motivation to not break any bones.
