Do. something. with my roller coaster hyperfixation. but im not an engineer i dont want to design them #thats so scary and i couldnt be a ride op cos im scared of riding most of them (disclaimer I KNOW HOW SAFE THEY ARE THATS NOT THE PROBLEM #I DONT HANDLE THE PHYSICAL EXPERIENCE OF THRILL RIDES FILLING ME WITH ADRENALINE VERY WELL IT CAUSES ME PAIN #i do not enjoy it. but i love to see coasters and watch them and read about them 🥺 and also sometimea i read about. the incidents which #felt like very foolish at first like okay this isnt gonna help me get comfortable riding them but honestly actually it did help?#to see how many of the incidents are like. truly like either freak accidents or someone fucked up #but like the rides safety mechanisms usually are very good and not the reason for an accident. most errors seem to be like. act of god or #like. operator or rider error. and some of the operator errors are kind of terrifying BUT ALSO seem like things that can be prevented #maybe the new wave of unionizing in the us will sweep into theme park employees and make sure theyre paid well and recieve good benefits #and that they are not pressured to prioritize profits or faster throughput at the expense of safety. and (really optimistic i know) maybe #we as a society and culture can unlearn our systemic fatphobia to the point that its doable to turn someone away for being #too big to ride safely without making them feel like shit or like its their fault and MAYBE we'll even possibly just maybe figure out how #to make rides that can actually accommodate larger guests safely so they can participate in the fun without fear or bodyshaming #logically i know theres no way to remove 100% of risk and that there is still heightened risk especially for ppl w various #medical conditions but idk i think we as a society can keep theme parks and do them well. i believe in us.#i should go to more of them....ive been to like. not that many but i do still have favorites #hershey my beloved. i LOVE how visible all the coasters are all the time i LOVE the skyview going right through great bears track #i hope i can go again this yr and see the new wildcat 🥺 absolutely not going to ride that fucking thing but i am definitely going to stare #at it. jenn if youre reading this i cannot fucking believe you got me to ride og wildcat honestly #p sure that rattle gave me a headache and i would not do it again that was a rough fucking ride lol but im glad u somehow got me into that #i have. such a complicated relationship with being peer pressured onto rides lol #like on the one hand i do need that a little bit or i definitely wont do it but on the other. being forced onto comet as a child was #slightly traumatizing and definitely marked my turn from wanting to ride all the coasters to jot wanting to ride anything #to my parents credit on that one they do recognize it as a mistake and were sorry about it like immediately so i dont hold it against them #but also dont. force ur children to ride coasters lol. but i do need to go spend a day at hershey just forcing myself to ride great bear #over and over. fav coaster best coaster. its so fucking loud. its shaped so good. pretty color scheme. its constellation themed #i do love and am obsessed with how hershey packs all those tracks together like that it looks so cool i love to see it #candymonium right at the entrance like that is Extremely distracting very immediately

currently at hershey park and thinking of the science team at an amusement park after someone (coomer) hijacks the gps on a grocery shopping day, how do you think it goes

First off this is EXTRA funny if put in the context of the in-game universe I usually work with, because the grocery store in the home program is probably within walking distance and they'd need to go REALLY out of their way to get to a theme park. Like, booting up another game that's linked up to their program kinds of big.

Bubby, as I've stated many times, will ride all the roller coasters. He will scream and cry the whole time he's onboard and then get off like "oh I'm fine now. Okay, time for the next one!"

Benrey wants to play EVERY carnival-style game. It's a 50/50 match between how many booths he nails effortlessly and how many he falls completely flat on, still proudly declaring "I WIN!"

Tommy and Darnold are taking the first chance they get to purchase the park's big souvenir beverage cup. You know, the big unwieldy one you can pay extra for to get Maximum Sippage and a souvenir all in one. It's very important to both of them, comes before any rides. Tommy does love Dark Rides, though, especially when they've got cool practical effects. It's fun to think about how those things work!

Coomer is legally forbidden from the Test Your Strength game, much to his consternation. Some notable activities he will engage in instead include finding the absolute worst souvenir t-shirt, buying it, and trying to drink the water from the fountains and/or boat based attractions.

Gordon's a bit stressed about keeping the group together, but once the team proves that their behavior in an amusement park is a bit better than how they act in an apocalypse scenario, he loosens up a bit. If we're dealing with Game!Setting, he'll try out the rides that he can, but will probably lean more into playing games with Benrey. If it's Not A Game, he'll divide his time differently, and will probably also have Joshua with him, which certainly changes the picture.

Speaking of the game setting, I've got a powerful combo to suggest. Fully realized Defunctland VR. Coomer and Bubby have ridden Garfield's Nightmare. If you know, I'm sorry.

Oh, let's see what my boring self can come up with. ❤️

My sophomore year of college, I went to a fraternity party with some friends. One of them stepped out onto the fire escape stairs for some air and almost fell. I managed to grab him and yank him back, where he then proceeded to tell everyone I saved his life. That same night, I went back to the sorority house I was in at the time to find the lower floor filled with smoke. One of the girls fell asleep while cooking a pizza and I had to get her and a few others who were asleep down the hall out of the place. They, and my fire escape friend, joked for weeks that I was a guardian angel.

I love roller coasters and rode my first one at Hershey Park when I was a kid.

While most of my friends growing up were reading Goosebumps, I had just about every Fear Street book available. Also loved Christopher Pike books.

Prologue: In, 2023 me, Leon, N, and the rest of the Kings Island Palace gang (Bendy, Tommy, Freddy, Loona, V, Uzi, CatNap, Jill, Chris, Claire, Wilbur, and Octavia) went to Kings Dominion, Virginia for our summer vacation. We did Hershey Park, Pennsylvania and we spent the 4th of July at Washington DC, Virginia. Me and the others entered the Kings Dominion entrance and Leon told me he forgot his Orion fanny pack in the Kings Island van. I told Bendy we'll catch up with him and the others. Until two evil people, Dylan Blake and Maria Gomez they were looking for Leon and they were trying to hunt him down and take him away from me, because they're trying to use a mosquito bio-drone to infect him with a T-Virus in it. When they saw me and Leon. Leon got his fanny pack and me and Leon got confused. Dylan drove a black dodge challenger car. Me and Leon were shocked and we started running and they were chasing after us. Until then we went inside of the entrance and we continued to run so they won't be able to find us. I asked if Leon was okay but then, he told me that he's scared that Dylan and Maria is going to take him away. I started comforting him and I'll protect him no matter what. That's what brothers and sisters do they protect each other. But me and Leon got completely lost and we don't know where the others are. So me and Leon have to stick together T^T. Until this afternoon, we rode a little bit of the roller coasters like (Dominator, Intimidator 305, Twisted Timbers, and Grizzly etc.) and I heard the gurgling sound inside Leon's stomach, because me and Leon haven't eaten anything yet until our eyes spotted on Dylan and Maria again. Oh no, they found us! Me and Leon started running again. We keep on running, running, and running and until we stopped running we start to hide away from them, because we don't want them to find us. We found a pizza restaurant that was across from Delirium and we sat down and started eating. Leon felt anxious that this shit would happened, he's still thinking about Tommy a lot. I know how Leon feels, I felt the same way as well too, I started thinking about Bendy a lot. We finished eating our food and we started to keep on going. It starting to get dark at nighttime and Kings Dominion is about to start closing for the night, Leon and I got off of Grizzly, we started running and Dylan and Maria were gaining on us, we run faster as we could. But until then we were almost by the entrance and Dylan was standing there with the creepy smile on his face in front of the entrance that me and Leon were heading and we went back and we’re to take a shortcut but it was too late Maria was standing there. Me and Leon are surrounded by them I bravely protecting Leon and he was scared and shaking so bad. I told them to back off but they didn't listen. But then there was an explosion of a bomb near by. Me and Leon look into the sky and we realize, that it's N and V they found us. The others were happy to see me and Leon. Leon ran to give Tommy hugs and kisses and I hug Bendy tight and we started kissing. V told me and the others to go ahead and catch up while she deals with Dylan and Maria. While we drove off in the Kings Island van, V flew her way to the van while she's done with the fight Dylan and Maria. And we went back to the hotel in Washington DC so we can spend the night there. And now another story of me, Leon, and N we starting out next adventure.

Happy New Year!

I know I haven’t been posting much lately, but I do like to write something every year on New Year’s Eve so I can look back on things if I want to in the future.

So 2023 was a pretty awesome year for me, to be honest. I really didn’t accomplish any of my goals from my last New Year’s post, except for continuing my Duolingo streak, but you know what? It’s totally fine. I set myself back financially and made no progress on getting in shape, but I had a lot of fun!! And that’s really what this year, particularly this summer, was about.

Travel Highlights:

Went to Colorado in June/July, had an amazing spa day and fancy dinner on my birthday, did a bunch of really cool hikes and took a ton of photos, had more fancy dinners, saw 4th of July fireworks over the Denver skyline, went to museums including the Molly Brown house and the best prehistoric exhibit I’ve ever seen, saw moose and elk, and generally had the best time ever.

Visited my aunts in North Carolina for the first time, and had a great time. They convinced me to treat myself while we were at a real jewelry store so I got myself some diamond earrings. Because why the hell not? I’m an adult with a salary, and I don’t need to save or put toward bills every penny I make.

Went to Ocean City in Maryland for the first time as well, which was a ton of fun even though I’m not the most beachy person ever. Ate crabs, got wasted, rode rides, saw wild horses, and then afterward went to Hershey Park which was also a lot of fun and had great roller coasters!

Went to Colorado AGAIN spur of the moment in November because we finally got invited to go to Casa Bonita. So we did that, of course, went on an awesome winter hike in RMNP, got massages, and had a fancy dinner at a Chianti event in Denver.

I also went to a few shows this year:

Iron & Wine in July which is definitely a highlight of the year because he is my favorite musician and I’d never seen him before. Super intimate acoustic show so I didn’t get any pics or videos but I’ll remember it forever, especially that he played my favorite song!

Modest Mouse, Lord Huron, and a bunch of smaller bands at a two day festival in August. Such a fun time, and both headliners were SO good. Lord Huron is a newer find, but I’ve been listening to Modest Mouse for over a decade and never saw them live!

Death Cab for Cutie and The Postal Service in September, for the 20th Anniversary Transatlanticism and Give Up tour. This was my second time seeing Death Cab but this show was special because both bands played those two albums in full, and Transatlanticism is one of my favorite albums ever.

Other cool things:

Went to a fancy tea room in Boston.

Saw Titanic in theaters TWICE during the 25th anniversary rerelease.

Saw a queer comedy show.

Practiced drawing more, but not as much as I’d like.

Went to the gym slightly more consistently.

Cooked some great meals.

Started writing a fanfic I love, which I truly do intend to finish!

Went on a couple of writing weekend trips to Maine which did of course include lobster and a dessert bar.

Had many snuggles with my cats.

Made sweet desserts for my family’s Thanksgiving and Christmas get togethers.

Played a billion hours of The Sims, and took hundreds of screenshots for my save’s very extensive family tree.

Cut down on waitressing hours at the expense of my savings account so I can have weekends back and not burn out so easily.

Other than all that, I went to work and that was fine, tried dating a few times but nothing panned out, and just kind of hung out and did my thing most days.

Huge shout out to @terieri who not only is my travel buddy, but also willingly came to all those concerts, and is the only person who is as invested in my Sims lives as I am! This year would have been super lame without her.

2023 was all about having fun, exploring, doing new things, and eating great food. It gave me a lot of memories and while I know I won’t be able to afford having another year like this for some time, hopefully I can make 2024 pretty great too!

I hope you all have a wonderful night doing whatever you choose to do on New Year’s Eve, and that 2024 starts off amazingly for you all. For myself, I like to get takeout and play video games so that’s what I’m going to do.

I took my kids to Hershey Park on Friday. Whew, it was a long day. I drove 2 hours there and then two hours back home by myself! It was nice though because the ride lines were super short. Daniel and I rode a bunch of coasters. It was fun because the park was open until 10pm and it was their first night of Halloween stuff so we got to ride rides in the dark and there was a lot of fog and actors roaming about. Vincent even got on a roller coaster and immediately told me he hated it. He was in a sour mood at the beginning and throughout the weekend but I realized that I think it's because he was getting sick. He did like some of the ride but kept telling me "I have a fear of heights". On Saturday he started complaining of a sore throat and then immediately on Sunday he started vomiting and a fever. Blech. Daniel got a touch of it, too. I seem to be spared? Mostly, at least.

It turns out I do not need flood insurance after all. Underwriter was looking at the wrong building. They agreed with me that the strongly worded letter from the county made it sound like I had to get flood insurance but the flood zone does not touch the structure on my house, so we're safe. That's one monkey off my back.

I was going to start decorating for Halloween this weekend but we're supposed to get a "sub tropical storm" meaning lots of rain and wind (ugh) so I'm just going to hold off.
