chapter 8 starts with chapter 7 ending. Different perspectives different impressions :) I... am doing another style test. THIS COMIC WILL BE COMPLETED!!

One way... or another.. Okay jokes aside this comic will continue being my comic style test arena, so I hope you will excuse the style changes here and there.

I am working as an animator so the drawing fatigue is making it hard to continue sometimes.

Shinsengumi+Mitsuba!

Kondou - Daffodil: I read on a hanakotoba website that daffodils can represent “respect” and “unrequited love” which I feel encapsulates Kondou and his relationship with the Shinsengumi and Otae.

Hijikata - White Rose: Roses felt like an obvious choice because of the Baragaki arc, so I drew Hijikata with roses and thorns. I think Hijikata also has a sort of innocence to him too? Like when he fantasized about the mayo factory lmao so I thought white roses which represent innocence was fitting.

Okita - Forget-Me-Not: I thought forget-me-nots were fitting for Okita because it makes me think of his feelings of not wanting to be left behind by Kondou and Mitsuba.

Mitsuba - White Lilies: White lilies symbolize purity and dignity so I thought it was fitting for Mitsuba who personified both attributes to the very end. They’re also the flowers on her kimono I believe.

Saitou - Marigold: I read that Marigolds can mean loneliness, which I thought would fit Saitou who is extremely shy and has trouble making friends.

Yamazaki - Pansy: I just thought the color scheme of pansies worked well with Yamazaki when I was thinking about animal crossing flowers (Sorry for not having a deeper meaning Zaki...)

Writers are often their own PR team, and the same goes for fanfic writers. I like writing gen fic, and so I thought I’d share a selection of Gintama gen fic written by yours truly. Click on each description for a link to the fic. Hope you find something you like!

Mitsuba cuts her own hair and resolves to begin anew.

Itou reflects on the dawn while journeying to Edo.

Hijikata grows obsessed with hunting down a criminal, who may or may not exist, and soon spirals deeper into darkness while haunted by his past.

Takasugi contemplates vengeance and other dark thoughts with a longtime companion.

Tsukuyo and Tae exchange information, assist one another in battle, and enjoy tea and cake and each other’s company.

In the forest, long before the group of young men are ever known as the Shinsengumi, Shimaru teaches a pouting Sougo how to skip a rock on the water.

In a timeline where almost everyone has perished in a great calamity, Kamui journeys through the world alone, trying to ignore the void within his soul while hunting down the enemies who killed his sister and father.

Moments in the life of Sasaki Tetsunosuke, as he finds his place in the Shinsengumi and at the side of Hijikata Toushirou.

Hijikata is unsettled by what he perceives to be a false peace. Tae is exhausted from picking up the pieces again and again. One night, they share in a drink and contemplate war and the future. (Mostly gen, as I explore both of their characters within the Two-Year Timeskip.)

The Shinsengumi navigate the effects of rapid aging during the Ryugujo arc.

Last, but certainly not least, Katsura stars in a series of misadventures: - publishing books and dealing with “mixed reviews" - orchestrating an elaborate plan to capture Matsudaira and Kondou (this story is told from the perspectives of 20 main Gintama characters) - getting stuck in a broom closet with Sacchan and Madao - tracking down a lost video game cartridge

In Bushu, Hijikata met a woman. She loved spicy food. One day, in order to become the Shinsengumi, he had to leave Bushu. When they parted ways for good, he ate her favorite food, complained about the taste, and cried.

In Edo, Hijikata met a man. He loved sweets. One day, in order to keep being the Shinsengumi, he had to leave Edo. When they parted ways, he ate his favorite food, complained about the taste, and laughed.

I wanted to make this earlier but it's always time for love and peace~ 💗

This are some of my ships from the series. I didn't want to repeat characters, that's why Kondo doesn't appear (I prefer kyuutae). I'll give the man something special... eventually 😂 but I gave Madao some love! he deserves it, especially after Sorachi forgot to reunite him with his wife at the end :(

This is a time-skip version of all of them, in which Takasugi reincarnated and has his left eye. Then why is Mitsuba there, you ask? sorry, I've to go! Hope you liked it, see ya! 👋
