I really don't get the "izzy had to die so blackbeard could die"... cause it already happened? ed had already let go of that life, izzy had approved, telling him that he should follow it. the entire "just be ed... there he is" scene could have happened with Izzy and Ed talking, maybe Ed not quite wanting to leave Izzy entirely. And Izzy tells him that yeah, it's time and he can be himself now, whoever that is.

not to mention that if Izzy lived, he could finally have a life that wasn't revolved around Ed/Blackbeard. He could be Captain Izzy, he could be wearing his makeup and sing and be close to the crew. Maybe he'd rebuild his relationship with Ed again, using their history as the basis of something new, something healthier.

so yeah fuck that, it doesn't make sense narratively at all, thank you.
