I had a hike a long the shore of Pasqua Lake and then setup my new Aqua Quest 3mx3m tarp. I'm impressed with how well made and how flexible the material is. Much nicer than my elcheapo tarps. I made lunch on my Primus Micron Trail Stove. I suped up an Uncle Ben's Bistro express with real fried mushrooms, onions and garlic. It was very tasty! I had the park to myself today. I love packing for a hike almost as much as going on the hike. Tomorrow's light weight satchel. It's a 1982Cdn butt pack that doubles as a haversack. Ive got a dehydrated meal to try(never had before, only eaten one other dehydrated meal and didn't like it), poncho(30% chance of rain. My new sugar free coffee from scratch kit SO I'm not drinking sugar filled instant all the time. I packed a small first aid kit. And finally my possibles pouch is slid in the back there and is filled with various fire making supplies(tinder pouch) Also taking out my new canteen pouch. I've got a twig stove AND a hexamine (Esbit) stove both in that kit. I love having compactable gear like this for hiking.
