when i write the narrator i never give him a body or physical form of any sort out of respect. and also a lack of imagination but mostly respect for him and the wonderful way he takes the concept of consciousness and gender and just being in general and makes it incorporeal and turns it on its head. he is a whisper in the dark and the screaming you hear when you fall from the top of the stairs and the voice that you know will always be there no matter what, rambling about choice and determinism and eagerly awaiting your applause and saying to you, "what do you say, friend?". he is an eldritch entity and a thing to be feared and a dear friend and an extradimensional force beyond our comprehension and kind of a god and just another pawn in this game and everywhere and nowhere and always with stanley and so very, very alone. he is best boy and king of comedy and a voice in stanley's head and he is so many things but he is still not a man💙
