the recent discourse re:yuri is so curious to me. my two cents is that some of it can be attributed to the very well researched book on yuri history by erica friedman that came out a couple years back which made the seemingly legit claim that the genre started with women authors. of course the whole picture is more fraught than the viral posts i see on this paint it. and the book itself has a long section on The Bad Parts of yuri. but the quotes i see people use and word of mouth fail to mention that part. i can kind of get the defensiveness bc yuri is so often dismissed as a genre JUST for the tillitation of men in a way that really erases the quite large subculture of lesbian/bi otaku and the women writers themselves. which tbf is often the case with a lot of these subcultures (sooo much "moe" was/is written by women but was imediately dismissed as a dude thing. this kind of radicalized me as a teen.). all of that being said there WAS an interesting shift these last few years on the stories being told and how they are told (maybe because of the critical/comercial success of kabi nagata's memoirs and of series like kase-san and yagakimi? the overall evolving discourse about lgbt people on the public sphere? the uptick in openly queer women writing independent webcomics? none of these? all of these and more? shrugs). i've been reading unhinged gay manga in dynastyscans for like, a decade by now. and it's become increasingly more common for them to feature adult women, people actually saying the word "lesbian", lesbian bars even. it still surprises me constantly. comic yuri hime actually split itself in two (the idea is that the core mag is for women and the other is for men. fostering this idea of yuri by women to women). even the kirara magazine started including a lot of yuribait in its publications. which is a different beast entirely but is amusing enough that it makes me go "okay who is this FOR? yuribros? just to snatch the stray lesbian reader?". sorry for the long message i am just fascinated by all of this.

no worries at all this is actually extremely interesting thank you so much for all these extra details yeah i have been curious about like general demographic surveys or such of major yuri magazines yeah that makes sense from a lot of my research as well erica friedman seems to be the main source of a lot of information about yuri i have also wondered in general if some of the confusion around the genre also seems to come from a lot of western bookstores manga hosting sites and so on seemingly grouping memoir and short like joke comics about lesbians and so on under the yuri label i mean im sure part of that online is cuz dynasty scans has a really wide interest in what they seek out and translate which like i love that this stuff has a wider audience but its odd to call it yuri yeah ive noticed that as well in terms of shifts in whats actually focused on i read one yuri manga that was also about broader yuri fandom i guess like about a lonely lesbian who wrote yuri doujins and so on helping another manga artist find her love for drawing again and talking about like actual stuff about being gay and so on idk very interesting the places things are going like i think thats the other funny thing about the new narrative around yuri is like as you said its often kinda surprising still when characters actually say they are lesbians cuz a lot of works kinda held onto like oh ur my exception oh this will fade etc idk fascinating stuff thank u also for the details about the states of different magazines very interesting also if u wanna discuss this more in dms :3

1:Its complicated but i like to simplify it by saying shes transfem, as an automaton she has a weird relationship with gender but she is most comfortable presenting feminine and using she/her (it is important to note that her and Orion's creator did not create them with genders in mind and let them form their own sense of gender identity)

3:Also sorta complicated? There wasnt really one moment that made her go "im a girl." she just sorta expressed a desire to be more feminine although she didnt start fully using she/her and the name nathalie until she got to the orphanage

6:She finds the concept of labels intresting, but views it as a human thing and something thats not really for her (she often remarks about how fascinating it is that humans feel the need to label their identities and wonders the reason behind it)

7:Honestly probably not? Shes pretty confident about being a girl and finds labels to be pointless (much like you @clearcloudlesssky she is an unlabelled blob of "everyones pretty") so i can't really see her questioning her identity?

8:Sorta? I mean her dad and stepmom are very heteronormative and treat being queer in any way as a taboo so i imagine she definitely struggled a bit

12:Briefly? Often when she was younger she would wish to be "normal" (which in her mind meant being cishet and allo) but she eventually realized that all of that came from the way her dad and stepmom treated the LGBTQ+ community and she was like "Why does their opinion matter again?"

honestly when I first started writing then i never really thought about my characters identities, but as i grew older and being queer became a huge part of who i am then suddenly i felt the need to represent the community in my writing and at this point i think im just....incapable of writing a cishet character. they say write what you know and thats advice i personally use alot, almost everything i write is about queer teens and preteens struggling with both everyday life and some weird either horror or fantasy element of their life. i use my experience with being queer to help me with my characters (wow is this why so many of them are dealing with internalized trans/homophobia?) but alot of people dont have that experience. that doesnt mean dont write queer characters if you yourself arent queer, it means talk to people in the queer community about their experiences.

i started watching yellowjackets which i was really excited about because im so fascinated by the survivors of the andes flight disaster and also there's lesbians but man it's kind of. well. it's a little boring right now. and misty's character is so strangely cartoonish i can't take her seriously nor do i find her comic relief all that funny..... DAMN like i really want to like this but so far i'm kinda just like.... stop showing us the present day i kinda don't care about it we're moving inches at a time with the past storyline.... i'm 4 episodes in and like, we already know they're gonna have to resort to cannibalism, it was teased at the very very beginning, but they're dragging out this revelation like we're supposed to be surprised by it NO WE KNOW JUST GET TO THE POINT ALREADY

Hi!! I’d like a matchup, if you’re doing them still. My name is mar, my pronouns are she/they/he, and I’m a lesbian but since that terribly limits my options let’s just ignore that. Im a libra sun, Capricorn moon, Scorpio rising (and Scorpio Venus lol), ESTJ 3w4.

My main love language is quality time. I tend to like people who I can also be friends with (I’ve had the episode of falling in love w my best friend lol it’s a universal sapphic experience). People who I can spend fun times with, who share my interests and stuff, because then I feel like I’ll be able to share myself with them. I dont show it outward often but I’m a huge nerd lmaooo

I’m currently double majoring in musical theatre and intl relations. Theatre is a lifelong passion and what I’m looking to make my career, I’ve been in a few productions and they’ve been the greatest experiences of my life. Intl relations is a niche little academic interest (also my parents wanted me to also get a “conventional” major) that combines all my niche little study interests: history, political philosophy and theory, and learning about the different cultures of the world.

I’m also a huge nerd for astrology and personality typology (mbti enneagram etc) I’ve been learning astrology on my own for two years now and it’s fascinating to me. I’ve gotten pretty good at reading birth charts (even have some mysme astrology headcanons) and absolutely LOVE learning anything I can about the subject. It is, to me, a way of understanding not just how people work but also the mechanisms of life itself.

I also like writing, reading, and playing games in my free time. Rn I’m into reading stuff like essays and poetry collections and stuff. And my favorite game to play (the only one I play consistently really lmao) is genshin. I like it’s aesthetics and the lore has me absolutely sucked in. I also sing a lot, and dance. As for activities I like to do: anything social. Going to cafes and bars, going to plays, (unironically) shopping.

I’d say I’m pretty aloof in relationships. I’m really bad at expressing my feelings for the other person, I tend to be a bit insecure on that regard. I like to keep my distance, both physically and emotionally lmao. I’ll talk about whatever with you but it’s hard for me to be actually vulnerable. I struggle with burying my feelings with work and other activities, or disconnecting from the emotional side of the issue by looking at the practical.

My friends all describe me as very funny and I guess I am. I like seeing the humor in things and often point it out, and I don’t take things too seriously at times. I’m also pretty hard to read, but I’d say that’s bc I don’t tend to trust people enough to be truly open with them. I would obviously love for that to happen, though.

It takes a lot for me to fall in love, but when I do, I’m always hooked for a long, long time. I’m like… offhandedly possessive, wanting to spend all day with the person. I also want to know everything about them, like discover them kinda. Tbh I’m not very experienced with love in general (but curiously I write about it a lot).

Anyway that’s all I think is relevant about me idk if it’s a lot or not hehe I’m curious to see the matchup. Love ur stuff!!

It may come as a surprise, or it may not. It's just something about your energy that says that the two of you would mesh well together in your romantic typing. It's because the two of you understand each other better than anybody else ever would. When you are easily misunderstood by other people, it's hard to find that one person who just knows what you're talking about. In this case, when the two of you make eye contact, it's easy to see that you are kindred spirits that have been lost from each other for some time.

You both trust but only when it is necessary. You know when to set boundaries and when to be wary of the people around you. You know how to control yourself in the moment even if the emotions inside of you are going all over the place. You're just the kind of person that needs somebody who can be strong so that you have a moment to be weak. In Vice versa, it would also be important. He never lets himself have a moment with his guard down so would you, it's nice to know that he can do it without fear.

With that said, it's not that hard to imagine that he would have a vetted interest in astrology because it's not all that far off from the dark magic that he normally likes to read about. There's a lot of overlap in these interests so it's something he knows. He may not be as well-versed as you but you can trust that he can easily keep up in a conversation and makes you feel like you have somebody who listens. It's rare to have somebody listen to you when you're talking about something that you're passionate about because people may not understand how much it means to you when you talk about it. He knows what that feels like.

shelby/lucy: doesn't make sense, compels me. i have no idea why i latched onto them as a couple bc they hardly interact one on one (other than shelby technically being the one who introduced her to the others?) and realistically shelby/laura or lucy/laura makes more sense if we're talking abt ships that have any kind of foundation in canon. However this is maybe exactly WHY it compels me. i think they have a lot in common tbh (difficult family relationships, attempted concealed identities). and while i find shelby super shippable with every core four member i can never really see any of those relationships working out in the long run for her (shelby/laura i always see as one sided/laura choosing otto, shelby/otto is a short lived teenage fling that has tons of chemistry but is also super tosxic for them both, and bloodline epilogue kind of confirmed my 'shelby and wing go on a 'break' post graduation and just never get back together' headcanon), whereas with lucy i think i can? like they have a good enough balance of similarities and differences (whereas shelby/otto are too similar and shelby/wing are too different for me). idk obviously in canon it could never work because lucy fucking DIED but it's fun to imagine aus where she didn't!

anastasia/nero: makes sense kinda, compels me. im so sorry mark walden i say this w all the love and respect in the world you CANNOT tell me you wrote those books not intending us to believe anastasia and nero hatefucked nasty. the whole bucharest thing is so deliciously vague like...idk what else couldve gone on. my more 'fun' nerostasia headcanons (eg that anastasia and elena were the twins, that anastasia/nero had some overlap with elena/nero) are definitely way out of the realm of canon though so i think i can't say it fully makes sense. anyway yes it compels the hell out of me they are my ants in a lab!!! i think i don't enjoy them on their own so much as i enjoy them as part of the rich tapestry of Fucked Up Furan Dynamics like the two are inextricable for me. but anyway yeah i think one of my fave fics ive ever written was that bucharest nerostasia fic. they really get my brain goin

elena/nero: makes sense, doesn't really compel me. makes sense because the whole romeo and juliet thing and also in the wider fanon saga of nero vs the furans it is objectively funny and very in character for nero to turn around and make his nemeses' baby sister into a teen mom. however while i am incredibly compelled by nero and the furans as a family, and am SUPER SUPER obsessed w elena on her own, them together specifically is not something i'm super interested in. elena is so so fascinating to me and always has been, but not because of her relationship w nero. i think it's fun to reflect on how nero perceives and elevates elena after her death, and it's fun to talk abt the consequences of their relationship, but the actual relationship itself devoid of any of the furan Drama? eh. just not something that particularly inspires me i don't think

raven/verity: makes sense, UNFORTUNATELY DOESNT COMPEL ME. to be clear when i say makes sense i mean in a hatefuck-y way. they were definitely homoerotically obsessed with each other even before raven murdered verity's sister. i wish wish WISH this was something that got my brain chugging because on paper it ticks all my boxes (messy hatesex, lesbians, assassins) but in practice it's just never been something i've gone 'wow i need to write/think abt this'. DONT GET ME WRONG I LOVE READING IT HINT HINT but i dont think i'll ever write for it

Putting my first impressions notes after each episode because i have lost control of my life. And i need my opinions on this show to be heard apparently

klinger deserves a some like it hot plot where he accidentally seduces a general, and thats his actual way out of the war. Also trapper seems to be embracing the jimmy buffet way of life, love that for him.

love hawkeye’s “fuck the army im a doctor“ energy in this one. i find the trapper/margaret thing interesting. at least she is showing some taste improvement. also hello beloved japanese actor Mako. nice to see you.

the spy asshat is back, and i can’t say i missed him. why bring this guy back when we could have pat morita :( radar is in the top of the disgruntled little boy game and hes very cute about it

Wish I Was Sarah PT.1(Kiara Carrera X Reader)

Kiara had first met you 3rd of December.You had been at a party,a christmas party to be specific.You were a kook which meant your parents forced you to go to all the big mansion parties all the time.All of the big ones were there,Sarah Cameron,Topper Thornton,Rafe Cameron,Kiara Carrera.All of them.

You had worn a sweater over a simple t shirt,too lazy to put on a dress like all the others.Your parents were just glad that you had agreed to make an appearance even if you looked like shit.You had sat in the corner of the couch,earbuds in.You were listening to Sweater Weather,thinking it was funny because you were,in fact,wearing a sweater.

Kiara had stood at the snack table for a while,holding a disgusting monstrosity of a cookie,debating on picking off the sprinkles and throwing them away.She had never really been a fan of sprinkles.She had glanced around the crowds,the moms talking as they ate cheese cubes,the dads talking as they drank beers and wine,the other teens probably getting high up in the bathroom.Then her eyes fell on you.

She felt her face heat up immediately,staring at you for a while.You were underdressed for the occasion,your earbuds in as you sat curled up on the couch,seeming tired of being there.She debated herself in her head,trying to decide whether to approach you or not.Eventually she gave in,walking across the room with fake confidence,sitting down next to you.She watched as you tensed up,your eyes going wide,your bottom lip between your teeth,wondering what she wanted.

You pulled out an earbud,looking up at the beautiful girl that had decided to sit next to you of all places. “Hey.”She smiled,holding out her hand to you. “Im Kiara.”She introduced herself.You pulled out your other earbud,a small grin on your face. “Hi.Im (Y/N).”You shook her hand,feeling your face heat up a bit. “So um….yeah.What song were you listening to?”She asked,trying not to laugh at how dumb she sounded.You showed her your phone,finding yourself moving closer to her on the couch. “You like Frozen ll a lot.”She laughed,watching you scroll through the playlist.

You nodded,handing her an earbud to make her listen to Lost In The Woods. “Ive never seen Frozen ll.”She admitted,watching as your jaw dropped and your eyes widened. “Kiara!Oh my god-whats wrong with you?”Your voice became higher as you talked,your hand covering your mouth.She laughed at you,shrugging. “Wait,have you seen the first one?”You asked.She nodded,watching as a look of relief came across your face. “Okay,did you like it?”You asked.She shrugged once again,smiling at your enthusiasm.

“The second one is better I promise.”You answered.She rolled her eyes,leaning back against the couch. “Im serious!The soundtrack,the animation everything is so much better!”You exclaimed,shaking your phone as you spoke.She nodded. “Yeah,whatever you say.”She replied,watching as you tried to convince her. “You have to watch it!Please?”You pouted.She nodded,making you clap your hands in excitement as you went into your disney plus app.She watched as you scrolled through the movies,a big grin on your face because you had easily defeated her.

“Its so cold in here.Who puts air conditioning on in december?”She complained out loud.You handed her your phone for a moment,not hesitating to pull off your sweater and hand it to her. “That’s pretty warm.”You told her,not really thinking about it.Her face turned red,biting her bottom lip as she held back a smile.

She had originally regretted her wardrobe choice of a green dress,the fabric light and flowy,her arms exposed which caused goosebumps to rise across her caramel skin.She didnt regret it now though as she pulled on your sweater,the warm fabric making the goosebumps go away.Her heart was thumping as you moved incredibly close to her,handing her an earbud and holding your phone in front of the two of you.

As you reached the point of Into The Unknown it was announced that dinner was ready,ham,turkey,potatoes,corn,rolls,pretty much everything imaginable.It disgusted you that you all had a feast of expensive,high quality food while people in The Cut were lucky to have a meal a day.The adults called the other teens downstairs for the meal and you promised Kiara that you’d finish watching it after.You two decided to sit next to eachother at the table,your sweater still on her.

She offered it back to you,saying that she didnt want to get food on it but you told her that it was fine and that it looked better on her anyways. “So the movie...what do you think about it so far?”You had asked softly as Kelce and Topper came down the stairs. “Its good.Its good,like you said,better than the first for sure.”She nodded,eyebrows furrowing when she noticed your eyes falling away from her and towards someone walking down the stairs.Sarah fucking Cameron.The blonde was wearing a nice,light grey dress that looked amazing on her figure,her hair in pretty braids.

Kiara saw the look in your eyes,the way they were full of wonder,mesmorized by Sarah Cameron.She felt like dying,like being eaten up by a black hole as she wondered how she could be so stupid.She had thought that maybe you were interested in her but it was probably because she had been the only girl there.Now that Sarah was here she would be lucky if she could get your attention back again.

“So what do you think of the theory about Elsa?”She asked,glaring at Sarah.Your face heated up,taking your eyes off of the pretty blonde and back to Kiara. “What theory?”You asked,glancing over at Sarah every couple of moments.Kiara tried to hide her anger,covering it with a small grin. “The one about her being a lesbian.What do you think of it?”She asked,trying to learn more about you and if she even had a chance.You bit your lip,looking over at the plate of biscuits.

“I mean,I think at this point we all just want representation in disney and in like,media in general but I dont think Elsa is a lesbian.I feel like she might be aromantic or maybe...well,I dont really know.There’s nothing-well,you know she actual might be a lesbian,”You paused,leaning forward to grab a biscuit and put it on your plate.

“There’s this one scene in Frozen ll,ill point it out to you that has like vibes to it.But then again just because she doesnt have a male love interest doesnt exactly mean she’s a lesbian.Moana and Merida didnt have guys that they were in love with but that doesnt mean they’re lesbians.Merida might be a lesbian,have you seen how good she is in nature and cooking fish in the wild?And how she knew those berries were poison?Thats some cottage core lesbian shit.What was I talking about?”you asked,realising you had gotten caught up in the topic and had forgotten the original question.

Kiara smiled,glad to hear you speak so passionately about something. “If Elsa is a lesbian.”She held back a laugh,watching as the realisation came across your face. “Right,so the answer is yes but also no but also yes.Like at least fifty percent yes but also no but im 1000% confident in Merida being a lesbian.”You confirmed,cutting open your biscuit.She nodded,trying to think of a new topic before she lost your attention again. “So the whole thing of people shipping Else with Jack Frost.What do you think of that?”She asked,laughing when your fists slapped down in your lap,gaining the attention of Rafe and Sarah.

“Dude literally it makes no sense!Jack Frost isnt even disney!Like the only reason anyone ever shipped them was because they have the same powers but Jack is like 300 years old and hes like...energetic and giggly and child-like and immature and she would get so annoyed so quick!She’s introverted and serious and of course theres nothing wrong with that but she gets like too embarrassed too fast and I cant see them ever getting together or even being friends.Like,Merida is most definitely a lesbian but if they’re gonna ship Jack with anyone it should be her!Their personalities are so similar.”You huffed,biting into a half of your biscuit.

She nodded,grabbing a scoop of mashed potatoes and putting it onto her plate. “Yeah,definitely.So who is your favorite disney princess?”She asked,sending a bitter glare towards Sarah.Sarah had been staring at you during your passionate speech,filtering out the other voices to listen to you.She found you fascinating,intriguing.She was trying to figure out why she didnt know you or if you were new to the island.You glanced her way,smirking to yourself when you saw her blush. “Um...I dont think I have a favorite.They’re all powerful and wonderful in their own ways and they all have pretty cool stories.Except Pocahontas,I hate that they romanticize colonization and in reality she was like ten and he was in his late twenties.The soundtrack was great though.”You shrugged,taking a sip of root beer.

“Eat faster so we can finish the movie.”You told her,not thinking about it as you spoke.She smiled,hurrying to eat. “Wait,why dont we just go outside and watch it?”She suggested.You bit your cheek,trying to figure out why you hadnt thought of that.You nodded,standing up and picking up your root beer,balancing it on your plate and walking out of the house,Kiara close behind you. “Where are we going?”She asked.You grinned,careful as you walked down the hill. “I know a spot.”You answered,walking across the sand of the beach.

You had explored pretty much all spots of the beach and had found your favorite one,a cave behind a wall of rocks that you had personalized.You walked towards the rock wall,slipping through the crack. “What is this place?”She asked,still following you.You smiled,turning on your phone flash light so you could see the lantern that you had put in there,turning it on.Her face lit up,looking around the cave.Pillows,sheets,blankets,pretty curtains hanging from the walls,a bin of paints so you could paint the rocks. “Thats such a good question.I really dont know how it got here,I just went through the crack one day and kind of just found it.”You shrugged,sitting down in the pile of pillows and patting the spot next to you.She sat down,shifting so she was as close to you as possible,leaning her head against your shoulder to test the waters.You pulled the earbuds from you phone,turning up the volume of the movie.

!!!! ok i'm sorry it's taken me a hot minute to get to you BUT i think i have a good amount of reccomendations :o

these first few are kinda "famous" but i thought i'd point em out just in case! some of them ended a few years ago and they were more well known back when they were running

wolf 359: gotta point this one out juuuust in case you haven't listened to it! amazing sci fi... would drama be the right word? it's very intense and has some really interesting meditations on morality and the self But it's also so extremely funny. complete, ended in 2017

ars paradoxica: america during the cold war, the red scare, intense government conspiracies.... And Time Travel! complicated but amazing plot and a big cast- i would recommend not pausing and listening to something else, it gets complex! mischa stanton directed it so you Know it has stellar sound design (added bonus: lgbt main characters) complete, ended in 2018

the bright sessions: people with superpowers go to therapy! plus: shadowy capitalistic conspiracies, amazing romances and phenomenal character development! i'm not a fan of romances and i Loved the ones here (it's not heavily romance focused though!) (added bonus: lgbt main characters + main lgbt romance) complete, ended in 2018. i think a spin off series is running rn tho!

the adventure zone: this isn't an audio drama, it's an actual play d&d podcast! the first season (balance) is amazing- hilarious and heart wrenching! (the heart wrenching takes a while to kick in but MAN it's so good) the first season ended in 2017. i haven't finished the second big season (amnesty) but i loved what i did listen to, same with the currently running season (graduation)

sayer: starts off as sinister night vale but with an ai and in space, evolves into a complicated save-the-world plot concerning several ais. it's in second person and it's Amazing! lots of meditations on the self and personhood. currently on hiatus but will be ending when it resumes

alice isn't dead: from the people who did night vale! starts as a trucker trying to find her wife, evolves to include shadowy government conspiracies and the power of regular people banding together. ending made me tear up it's really good! it's Big on the horror (the first ep is the only podcast that's ever truly scared me and it continues to scare the shit out of me to this day) but its Extremely Good Horror. very americana too! complete, ended in 2018.

ok that's the more well known ones out of the way, i think? i'm not too confident about how well known some of them are nowadays ^^' all i can say is that i heard abt them frequently in 2016. now onto the lesser known ones ! the ones that are complete are generally pretty short listens (relatively- they're still a good handful of hours at the least)

zero hours: by the wolf 359 people, it's a short anthology that released all at once last year. to pharaphrase/quote the official blurb: each episode is a take on the end of the world, whether the apocalypse is planetary or personal. each episode is separated by 99 years, starting in the past (1722) reaching the present and then overtaking it. surprisingly hopeful ending, made me <:')

i am in eskew: you've probably heard me holler about this before- it follows the trials and tribulations of david ward, who lives in the nightmarish and otherworldly city of eskew. 30 episodes long and complete, with a phenomenal ending! i can't rave about this enough i could Keep talking but i'll cut myself short. it's horror and it's damn good horror! does deal with extremely heavy topics, please be careful!

janus descending: sci fi horror with what has to be the most interesting formatting i've seen in ages: the two points of view alternate each episode... but one is chronological and one is backwards! amazingly done, keeps you guessing until the end! complete. follows peter and chel as they undertake a survey mission on an alien planet

midnight radio: made by @/theradioghost! big on the idea that "all ghost stories are love stories". a 1950s radio hostess gets letters from a fan. horror, big on the 1950s aesthetics, focus on the relationship between one and one's hometown. lovely ending! it's sapphic too :]

the far meridian: by the same people who did ars paradoxica! follows peri, a bit of a hermit who has extreme social anxiety, who lives in a lighthouse that suddenly begins to teleport. each morning peri wakes up and the lighthouse is in a different place! there are like... some horror elements? kinda? but it's not intense imo. it mainly follows peri learning to cope with her anxiety & helping others, with each episode usually having a one off encounter (usually pretty strange!) often has wholesome vibes. s3 is currently in production and is the final season. plus: lgbt characters, and kinda spoilers but peri uses a cane later on!

old gods of appalachia: honestly it's what it says on the tin! a collection of short stories set in historical appalachia that deal with entities beyond human understanding. they're good about trigger warnings, but it's Horror. produced by actual appalachians! stellar music, a Lot strong female characters, and a good amount of lgbt rep! killer music!! it's currently releasing but the latest short story is finished. (do listen in order though!)

the deep vault: by the archive 81 team! in an "almost-post-apocalyptic" america a group of friends chase a rumor about a secret hidden vault, only to Find it! follows the group as they traverse the deep vault. horror, actively points out capitalism a Lot, definetly has an interesting ending! amazing sound design, which is to be expected from dan powell!

tides: the official blurb is short and sweet: "tides is the story of dr. winnifred eurus, a xenobiologist stuck on an unfamiliar planet with hostile tidal forces". extremely snarky and endearing main character and fascinating worldbuilding! i don't know the status of s2, but s1 was really good!

limetown: follows one lia haddock, a public radio reporter, as she tries to unravel the mystery of what happened at limetown. all she knows is that 10 years prior, over 300 men, women and children vanished. horror, mystery, and some sci fi elements. presented in a found footage kinda way. i really enjoyed it, especially the first season. complete.

mabel: horror (big on the haunted house type specifically), sapphic romance, fun take on the fair folk/fae! follows anna limon, an in home carer who's trying to get in touch with her client's estranged granddaughter. evolves into a big fae-horror-romance-thing! really interesting romance tbh. amazing imagery and prose- lots of prose + almost poetry, but it's really good i promise. currently on a post season hiatus

spines: horror but it evolves past just horror in an interesting way (keeping the horror bits, of course). follows wren, who woke up in an attic surrounded by the remains of a cult ritual without any memories of who she is or what she was doing. she searches for answers, encountering creepy shit along the way. really interesting take on the super-secret-organization-that's-always-been-there trope! really good ending. one of the main characters is nonbinary + there's other lgbt main characters.

mirrors: by the people who did spines. also starts as horror but evolves past just horror (it's also sci fi). follows three women in three different centuries who are all experiencing the same haunting. phenomenal take on ghosts! like i can't articulate how cool this angle on ghosts is! s3 is supposed to start this year :] one of the main characters is sapphic, and her wife is a supporting character.

the six disappearances of ella mccray: also by the people who did spines and mirrors. evolves past just horror but keeps more of the horror elements? follows the 6 povs of the people who witnessed the surreal disappearance of ella mccray. each saw something different and surreal, and as they search for her, surreal things start happening to them. unsure abt the status of s3 but s1 and s2 are really good! lgbt main characters, including a trans lesbian (played by a trans woman!)

the bridge: horror. follows the crew of watchtower 10 on the transcontinental bridge that spans across the atlantic ocean. i listened to it back in like 2016-2017 so my memory is hazy, but i remember really enjoying it! currently on hiatus.

within the wires: sci fi... horror..? i listened to the first season a few years ago and enjoyed it and i've continued to hear really good things. it's by the people who make night vale! my memory isn't great but iirc the first season is a sort of romance that's formatted as a set of relaxation/meditation cassettes. it's a few seasons in and i think each is generally self contained, im unsure if it's currently running or not

the orbiting human circus of the air: also by the night vale people! again i listened to this a few years ago so im hazy. follows julian the janitor who works at a radio station that broadcasts from the top of the eiffel tower! surreal but in a wholesome way, iirc! i remember tearing up with happy tears at the s1 finale ^^' really good music! i think the second(?) season ended recently

stellar firma: i've only listened to a handful of episodes, but i've liked what i've heard. sci fi improv comedy that follows the newly made clone david 7 and the mess that is trexel geistman as they try and design custom planets. i think it's currently running but i dunno

rusty quill gaming: also another one that i've only listened to a few episodes of. actual play pathfinder (basically d&d) podcast set on an alternate earth. alex newall (martin's voice actor) is the dm. i've heard really good things from a lot of people! i think it's currently running but again i don't know for sure

right! that's. that's what i got.

On the other end of the line, Cinder let out a tight sigh. “Yeah. Okay, well—I’m in a difficult position right now. I’m balancing a lot. So, that wasn’t, you know, directed at you or whatever… I’m just trying to deliver you to Atlas. That’s all.”

“Yeah,” Glynda said. “This apology sucks.”

CINDER FALL TRIES TO HAVE MANNERS. AND FAILS. BUT SHE TRIES.

it’s been a WHILE but i’m STILL HERE!!!!!!!!! also i’m a little late to the draw and also unlike w/ prior chaps i did actually read this one when it came out so i’ve had my first run already. BUT that means i actually get 2 Focus so lets get this party started

so we’re now entering into the New Umbraroot Arc which Frightens me on a deep and intrinsic scale because now i have no padding to ready me for whatever the Hell is going to occur, but i do know it will be gay(er) than the current content was (is/shall be) and here’s the proof

It had only been a day, but the sound of Cinder’s voice was a relief to Glynda’s senses.

my favourite thing abt any gay media and content is that it’s gay in ways that hettie(tm) nonsense can only dream of being. when a story is abt a guy and a gal all the romantic tension comes from like. looking at a tiddy or getting naked or w/e the shit. here? it’s literally found entirely in the use of the word our. such power. i love it.

I went from unknown to one of Atlas’ most wanted overnight, which is charming… And also annoying, because they refuse to stop pasting wanted posters on every street corner.

i feel like cinder is the type of bitch to send pics of them back to emerald like ‘is my face ACTUALLY that janky??? my hair is a state. you think they’ll use a selfie if i ask nicely???’

Cinder hummed, affirmative. “Which would be unnecessary, if you hadn’t reported me.”

Glynda returned, “I wouldn’t have reported you if you hadn’t been committing a crime.”

We left a funny taste in her mouth, almost as strange as when Cinder had said our. She tried not to examine it too closely.

again. look at this shit. this is real slowburn hours. this is how u DO IT.

Her heart was beginning to feel like a pin cushion with all the needles pulled out, little holes left in their wake.

would i be showing my age if i glanced at this and wondered if it were a reference to the inciting og offal hunt inspiration fic or. it does doesnt it. okay moving on.

“Okay.” And then, in an effort to change the subject to something lighter: “I’ve never broken into a country before.”

glynda’s complete and continuous inability to actually like. do what she plans on doing is SO funny to me. she’s going to be stealthy, she says, throwing a man aside in obvious fashion. i’m going to be subtle, she says, being as conspicuous as possible. she’s a disaster and i live for it.

"The Faunus." Cinder's voice was cold. "Don't speak to her."

this part of this fic is subtitled ‘cinder’s rank opinions time’, apparently. not that u can tell. but it is. dsfhgjsdfghjghfjdk

In the silence that followed, Glynda thought of the stunted horns jutting above Cinder's hairline at the restaurant.

Glynda murmured, "That’s a horrible thing to say."

"Don’t start." There was no concession in her words. “I mean it.”

“...I just didn’t expect that from you.”

“What’s that supposed to mean?”

There was something in Cinder’s tone that told Glynda that nothing she said would be correct. She said nothing.

cinder’s! rank! opinions! time! honestly this section victimises me the MOST as i very famously cried over an earlier section in which cinder thought abt all the faunus she grew up with, so i know that kc and diesel were looking to hurt me directly. that said i DO find it funny that cinder, yet again, looks like a pile of shit. she can’t do anything right. naturally inclined to be the villain completely unintentionally. what a moron.

A harsh laugh. “What do you think we are, friends?”

“Well, no—um. Not really, but—”

YOU SEE. CINDER. PLEASE. £10 FOR U TO BEHAVE FOR FIFTEEN SECONDS.

“Then, just—just listen to me. I’m going to get us there. I p-promise.” There was a soft sound, like disgust or the prelude to a gag. “Urgh, your soul—give me more space.”

cinder: i’m inclined to being an asshole glynda: every time yr mean 2 me i’ll make u feel worse cinder: ah no. ah shit. i have to be nice??? ah fuck. what the shit is this.

Glynda thought of Ozpin. It wasn’t a comforting thought—more like the memory of a near-accident, like sliding on ice and feeling the world shift beneath you. It was a flinch-thought, and it would have made her miserable instead of just homesick had she not shut it out so quickly.

god the writing in this fic is so especially pristine. everything feels so real and visceral and you just know Exactly how that feels. it’s brilliantly punchy and i adore the way u get have the exact sensation click into place. it’s SO good.

She wondered if it was the same moon Bacia and Vivienne had looked upon. If they had felt the same beneath its pale light. The Great War had seen two shatterings of the moon, so perhaps it had appeared different, but… Glynda couldn’t help but wish that it was something they shared, even lifetimes apart.

Glynda closed her eyes and tried to feel out that instinctual power within her. Tried to know herself better. It resonated around her like a water in a tank, nearly palpable.

again this is just GREAT storytelling. i just LOVE how well kc and diesel turn abstract ideas into such physical manifestations it’s completely unreal. r y’all seein this shit???

upon checking his number, she’d discovered it had been blocked.

i love that glynda is abt as knowledgeable abt little jumps like this as the reader is. are we surprised as a reader? yes. is glynda also surprised? HELL YEAH SHE IS. SHE AIN’T GOT A FUCKIN CLUE MY DUDE.

Remembering the notes to herself not to trust Winter, Glynda opened the log hesitantly.

glynda no yr sending read receipts to yr future gf and thats a bad move on everybodys part

The indicator showed this wasn’t the first time Glynda had accessed the message. She couldn’t remember doing so.

OH NO BITCH U ALREADY DID

“Special Operative Schnee, things are…” Glynda paused, searching for something suitably vague to say. “Proceeding.

do you see what i mean abt glynda’s ineptitude. it’s slapstick levels of ridiculous and i’m living for it.

Do you suspect she’s attempting to cross the border?”

“Maybe.”

‘sure,’ glynda says. ‘you could word it like that if you wanted to.’

“Bold of her, if nothing else. She should know there will—” Glynda skimmed through the rest of the paragraph to reach the end, the corners of her mouth curling. “—can make arrangements. Let me know if there’s anything else you need.”

Bubbles appeared, showing that Cinder was typing. Glynda waited.

And waited.

The bubbles appeared and disappeared four times.

She flipped back to Cinder’s conversation and found that, after all that time, Cinder had finally settled on a reply.

It said:

“Good.”

okay let’s double back for a second just to cover this Juicy Lore:

If you’d like, I can arrange a bouquet of flowers to be left at your mothers’ memorial site. My thoughts are with you.”

For a long moment, Glynda simply stared at the screen. [...] In quick succession, she realized that it had been sixteen days since she’d met with Cinder in the restaurant and that it was soon to be the anniversary of her mothers’ deaths.

Glynda picked herself up from the armchair, neat and tidy, and disassembled into bed, pulling the covers up to her throat. With her Semblance, she turned off the lights. She closed her eyes.

It was quiet. Cold. The only thing she felt was the weight of her soul.

Her Scroll buzzed. Glynda answered it.

“Glynda.” It was Cinder. “I can feel that.”

okay following on from cinder’s text message, i just. love that cinder’s having such direct repercussions to her shitty shitty actions. like this is all tying together in some 👈😎👈 instances but having cinder be her usual callous self and having to literally turn around and start fucking Being Nice For Once is VERY gratifying. fuck you you lil round-faced one-braincelled baby. time to learn to have some Manners. jgdsfghsdfghfjd

She’d simply resigned to the loneliness of having no one to trust but Cinder, and then, not even having her.

Glynda chided herself; Cinder Fall wasn’t capable of remorse, but she was more than capable of simple math. It seemed the worse she treated Glynda, the worse she herself would feel.

There was a shift, like Cinder was rolling over, or maybe propping herself up. Was she in bed also? It triggered the remembrance of Glynda’s own physicality, and she turned over as well, searching in the dark for the nightstand and the lamp upon it. The light clicked on. The room brightened. Glynda settled in, ready.

OOOOOH THE PARALLELS. glynda turning the lights off and sinking into darkness and the void versus perking up and sitting up and turning the lights on when talking to cinder!!!!!!! POETIC CINEMA. OOF. OOF. HOW DOES FIFTEEN POINTS OF LOVE TASTE.

“Great! Lovely. Glad to hear it.” Fangs rounded out the words like scissors. A pleasant sense of satisfaction unfurled in Glynda’s chest. “So, once upon a fucking time—”

there were two gays and they were enemies to lovers but didnt know it yet. but they will be.

THATS CHAPTER 14 BABEY!!!!!!!! i LOVED this chap and i can rly feel kc and diesel gearing up for umbraroot. its great being able to like. feel the shift of focus goin on here and im SO ready to see this arc play out. once again offal hunt is the best fic ever made. this is a fact.

So I’m answering this for the story and characters in Heart’s Grave. Which I mean, isn’t very far along but I have a bunch of posts ready to post I’ve just hit an anxiety wall again. (Also because the Burgos kiddos are telling me their own story, I have no control over their madness)

How did you come up with such unique & fascinating characters?

I dunno if I would say they’re fascinating but ty! The way I create characters is different than a lot of people I’ve talked to, I come up with an idea and put that idea into different situations and see how they react. I think perfect characters are really dull so if I find a flaw with one I latch onto it and expand it. I make sure I find all their faults and try to build them out from that. (By shoving them into a situation that revolves around that fault or fear and I think all my characters hate me tbh). I also have boards and playlists for all of them and I’m always tempted to keep diaries for them because they’re always evolving/changing but I don’t have enough time omfg.

When you started writing your story, what did you take into consideration?

I yelled a lot to @harusumee about people who worked for the grim reaper, so I mean I had to think a lot about death and that there will be some triggering things in the story?? Also Austin is ace and I really wanted to make sure I capture it well. (I mean I’d hope I’d do ok, considering I’m gray-a + aro, I have experience with it on some level pff) I didn’t want it to come off as an “I’m making her ace because of dumb reasons”. It’s just who she is, and I didn’t want it to be a big deal.

How did you shape each character’s background/family?

Funny enough, Zam didn’t exist when I created Shay. I got the gist of like half the story and then was like wait, she HAS A BROTHER?? I basically get your general family ready to go, parents, grandparents, and then have them sit down for a family dinner and see who comes in late. (Zam was fuckin REALLY LATE to dinner, which also helped me develop his character PFF) But then after dinner, they just chill in their house and I kinda figure out who they want to talk to, what they do, and what comes to light. This probably sounds a little crazy I guess, but it makes them more human, imo.

Do you plan everything before starting, or are you more spontaneous?

I do a bit of both. I really like planning so I’ll get the outline ish going and then while I’m following along with it I realize there are 20 other things that have to happen between point A and B, so I have to go back and edit all these things and then I go back to the plan and it’s a never-ending process of trying to have a plan but all the fuckin characters screwing it up. I hate them

Does reality inspire you, or do you rely more on your imagination?

Imagination 10000%. Sometimes reality is in there, but it’s all my imagination. I wouldn’t be anywhere without it. I can’t do anything remotely real/not fantasy or sci-fi because my imagination is like, ALIENS. DRAGONS. DEMONS. SPACE. So if I ever try to be semi-real, 9 times out of 10 I’ll fuckin mess it up.

When did you KNOW you were going to make this story?

The moment I thought of how I could wreck these lesbians I was like, I’m going to do this. Also the moment I explained to Zell my idea and she yelled at me I knew it was good.

Also, I would just like to apologize to Zell for all the times I’ve made u cry with my angst ideas. Im not actually sorry

What has shaped your story into being the way it is?

The characters tbh. I had a straight-forward plan that I liked from just nicely planning it with Austin and Shay, and then fuckin Zam introduced himself and just kicked the plan aside and was like no, you're going to do this. And then later on whenever Holden and Eudora get introduced, Holden just fucking ripped it apart and was like this is all bad I’ll fix it for you and have I said I hate them????

The Craziness Continues..

3/3/18

Here we were back again on that damn Ferry that I had a real love hate relationship for. Taronga Zoo was where we were off on our next adventure for the day. Saturdays mean no work and no homework, so of course it was all play and no work for us!

Taronga Zoo to my severe disappointment is not in fact Steve Irwin’s family zoo. God bless the crocodile man’s soul he taught all of us a youngsters how to love the wild and all it’s creatures. Taronga zoo sits hillside opposite the Sydney Opera house across the harbor. It’s adorable to watch elephants and giraffes wander about with the city as the backdrop. To get to the zoo we took a really short gondola ride to the base of the hill and worked our ways down the frontside of the hill.

There were heaps of all sorts of animals. A classic zoo filled with every native poisonous snake the country has, frogs, alligators, giraffes's, wallabies and unfortunately I only saw one single kangaroo and not one damn koala. Here in NSW it is actually illegal to hold koala’s as they are treasured native delicacies.I didn’t need to see one that badly but I did get to ride one..

AND not to mention we did get some pretty cool crowns for entering the tiger pits..

BUT the real fun didn’t come until we left the zoo. Y'all know im not the biggest animal person in the world and would much rather be day drinking so thats just what we did. ( Still a cool zoo I’d recommend going with all your best fiends as they will do all the “oOoOo-ing “ for you and find the best way for you to ignore the impending pains in your feet from wearing the wrong walking shoes).

The journey continued all the ways to Oxford Street in Darlinghurst (Downtown Sydney) to ball out at the world famous Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras parade. Now i’m not one to be into these sorts of festivities but it was almost like a right of passage since Nick loves his pretty boys and of course I had to go check it out and give it my blessing.Meanwhile Nick was stranded in the blizzard for well over 20 hours starving with no food or water on the side of the highway but I partied hard with him in spirit.As I write this Nick is flourishing in Rome with his friends having the time of his life so it all worked out for him too and I couldn't be happier. Mom now has two kids half way around the world! I could definitely see Nick coming here in five years time and finding his potential soul mate wandering the streets because there are definitely some unique souls running rampant around.

I don’t know what turned me on more the men with fake tits, the obnoxious amounts of glitter, the endless sea of rainbows or the amount of alcohol we consumed in a two hour time span.Just kidding everyone a four pack here costs an average of $21 here so I was lucky to afford that and split a pint of vodka with Miranda, our temporary one tooth wonder ( we love her but she had a slight accident soon to be fixed so fingers crossed everyone). I swear open container laws do not exist because men were wildin’ out in cheetah print thongs, downing coronas while hitting on straight police officers and not a single rainbow haired freak gave a damn.

I dare you to judge me because these tasted way too good mixed with 7-11 50 cent slushies and vodka. So gosh darn good in fact I had to FaceTime not only grace to tell her but also wake Jaybae up at 3:30 in the morning to see this beautiful rainbow colored can, the one and only reason I bought it. I know they both appreciated seeing my face and telling them how much they needed to fly down to Sydney right then and there.

This little sign sure did give me a good laugh midway through the four pack.

Now I know you can’t see it in this picture but we had just scored 4$ glitter paint at the store and we were all to happy to tear into that shit and rub it all over our bodies. Luckily we all put it on and only one of us got a rash from it. Can you guess who? Jokes on you guys because if you thought it was me you were actually wrong for once so Ha, gotcha.

I’d like to say I captured the moments with a lot of really great pictures of the parade but we only managed to see about 20 minutes and two inches of it since there were way too many people close to comfort and once again my feet were in pain. Collectively we all enjoyed ourselves. Another Day another dollar spent :-)

Nothing short of simplicity here out in Manly. More mini adventures, running along side the beach, finding secret caves and wildflowers wondering whats right around the corner. I’d like to say i’m killing myself hitting the books but in reality im letting the stress build as I allow each and everyone of my subjects pile up. Don’t you fret I will finish it all in a timely manner.Like today at my internship I sort of hovered over my computer screen pounding keys hoping I’d make some magic happen for my strategic management report. Lots of progress in the warehouse including watching the leather doctor repair the white leather stools we have in stock. Fun times at EHS, I swear its fascinating learning about the logistical aspects of furniture rentals, deliveries and all the odd bits in-between.

Some days I forget im not here on vacation.Other days, like these, remind me im actually sort of in a make believe reality that the world actually is all mine.

Long behold yet again the precious views that never cease to amaze me. Clearly you can see why I struggle to focus on my course works. It’s even harder when the school throws bar parties every Tuesday and Thursday night. Not that I really enjoy them but its fun to go and watch all my friends get “pissed” ( Aussie slang for drunk as hell) on school nights. On this weeks CCC excursion we saw this friendly little marsupial:

but oh my god that new carmilla movie is so bad.. like i find it fascinating how many adaptations u know still play coy with it being a gay story and arent willing to fully commit so i assumed if nothing else the 2020 movie where i knew carmilla wouldnt be a vampire but was portrayed as actually gay would like offer something but their relationship was soooo bland and i didnt feel anything they like never spoke and just kissed instead of u know developing personalities it felt like i was watching some very bad lesbian movies when i was 15 like the combo of stale bland relationships between people who never speak to each other and violent homophobia im not really sure why someone would want to make the movie a carmilla movie when it wont even try to trick the audience maybe carmillas a vampire maybe shes not its extremely cut and dry and like the only reason i can think they both make carmilla just as generic as laura is to emphasize the version of the story they wish to tell that she is a complete innocent i think the point is to say if you strip away the vampirism this is the homophobia at the core of carmilla what if we disentangle the elements of vampirism and lesbianism that make up carmilla and have the text say clearly that they just hate her cuz shes gay not because shes a vampire and since most of her character is the vampire traits and the actual danger she poses well shes just some random girl but its just kind of a cruel unpleasant story and also something i was perfectly aware of like its an idea that could be done in like an essay because i feel like with works like this gay people read like two versions of the story simultaneously the version we want and the interesting angles and ways to make it like an interesting gay story and the version we know exists and the layers of that and it just feels like an unpleasant story im not sure we need when it decides to be unambiguously just the version about homophobia its sad cuz it was also a very beautiful film the candlelit lighting was gorgeous and like it did clearly have a strong artistic vision behind it just like i feel somewhat at a loss for why that was the take that needed to be explored for an hour and a half with all this work u know i also cant tell if the writer director is gay and its kind of funny she said the story is just about generically just prejudice when i mean shes the one who made it more explicitly about christian extremism and homophobia specifically while also somehow making the actual gay love story so much more hollow like there are so many boring movies already about women in period outfits running thru a field and kissing i have watched all of them when i was 15 and like its over enough is enough!

Hey so yknow how I said I had a lot of feelings about the origins episode? I’m gonna talk about them now bc i dont want to go to bed yet

I should mention by “feelings” I actually mean thoughts, some good and some bad. If I wanted to gush about something I’d gush about the Season 4 finale (god i love Raven), but the season 2 finale broke me so bad that I think I’m physically incapable of being concerned for any of the characters anymore. No fault of the show itself, I just... //sobs// and its not that i cant enjoy it, i just cant express any emotions anymore. I feel them but. How do I express them.

So anyways, over analytical time it is.

God I would really love if we spent more time looking at how the Titans came to be?? I’m not really complaining and I mean I’m not done with the fifth season yet (and the show never had a proper ending so who knows, maybe they wouldve elaborated on it later) but the dynamic that the original Teen Titans had is...extremely different than they have in the regular show, at least once the show finds its footing. And besides edgy Cyborg (who...was the reason i disliked episode 1 and 3 so much and im having war flashbacks [and it wasnt Cyborg himself, he just got along like shit with the others and that made me sad]) I actually find their original personalities to be extremely interesting. Young Beast Boy is adorable and I want to hug him (and I dont even like BB normally), Raven’s different personality was just...interesting, and dark Starfire? HELL yes. *Grabby hands* gimme more Starfire angst and development. Also I realized after I watched the episode that Starfire has had racial slurs directed against her and was nearly sold into slavery and *sips cup of tea nervously* there was also an episode description I read once for an episode where she was forced into an arranged marriage and I was like “ah okay, we’re doing this plot” (the recording ended up not being Teen Titans tho so i didnt see it) but remembering that Starfire and her race deals with all that while keeping this plotline in mind is *sips tea nervously and quicker* this show scares me sometimes. They’re fucking bold and I’d be scared but fascinated to see what would happen if the same writers were writing for, like, Adult Swim. Also I dont like tea

But while I find their initial dynamic to be slightly more interesting because I’ve always found their roles in the show to be generally pretty stereotypical, I’m actually more interested in how they developed into the characters that they are today. In fact, to make a fully well-rounded story, you kind of NEED to show that, and it’ll be a gaping plot hole if the show doesnt surprise me and make an Origins Episode pt 2 or something.

We need to know how Starfire became the adorable, kind gal we know today. I can kind of guess based on context clues and her changed demeanor at the end of the episode, but it would be far more impactful if we saw that development. Since Teen Titans is an action show I havent seen the characters go through much outward personality change, and like I said its an action show so that makes sense, BUT if you did a series of flashbacks, that’d actually be a really interesting way to include serious and personality-altering character development in a show that wouldn’t otherwise demand too much of it. But I still need to know how she became like that.

I need to know why Raven is MORE emo after hanging out with these people for a while than less. And I guess it’d be interesting to see Beast Boy change but I think we can chalk that up to puberty and possibly Cyborg being a bad influence. Also Cyborg doesnt change that much but it would be funny to see him gradually adopt “Booyeah” as a catchphrase. And it’d be cool to see Robin gradually adopt his role as leader and learn to work with the others.

But about Raven, while the others I can guess and approximate how their personalities changed, I have no earthly clue why Raven acts different. Was she just younger so she was less edgy?? Was she on her best behavior?? Was she just in a good mood that day?? Was she gay for Starfire bc that seems likely. They’re all lesbians sorry i dont make the rules. But anyways, seriously, what changed her? SHE SAID SHE THOUGHT BEAST BOY WAS FUNNY. It also kind of contradicts what Beast Boy said to Terra in the second season but...sure w/e....just ignore your own canon...I guess Beast Boy was making a joke but it seems unlike that he would make that joke if Raven wasnt at least hostile towards him since the start, or if he wasn’t one of the more recent additions to the team.

I do wonder if there were potential plans to have more flashback episodes in season 6. Since each season revolved around a Titan and Starfire didn’t have a season dedicated to her (she had the movie dedicated to her and wh...thats not fair, starfire deserves better) I guess its possible. Not saying it was for-sure the case but it’s possible. That’s what I’d do if I was writing for the show anyways, but then again there are a lot of things I would do differently if I was writing for the show (and im not talking about saving Terra, I love her but i think ive come to grips with her death, altho some of my changes would involve fixing some of her arc’s problems bc she deserved better before you killed her off for The Emotions(tm) >:U)

I dunno. I’m just confused. Also I feel really bad for Starfire and damn I wish she had her own season. I want to learn more about her.
