The Kansas City Couple Part 1
Takes Place During the Off Season (Mid-February to May)
Word Count: 878 words
Warnings: talk about a car accident (I think that is it please let me know if I forgot something)
Interviewer: Welcome to the new NFL based Documentary: “The Kansas City Couple.” This is a documentary about Y/N and Travis Kelce. Travis mostly got his fame during the 2020 season in which the Kansas City Chiefs won Super Bowl LIV. But the couple got the eye of the public in 2022 when Y/N posted on her Tik Tok talking about the couple’s relationship.
Y/N: Hi, my name is Y/N Kelce. In 2022 for Travis and I’s anniversary I made a slide show, and I posted part of it on tik tok. And let's just say it blew up. The video was just about how Travis and I have been friends since 2nd grade. And ever since then we have been inseparable since. Travis and I have, like I said, been friends since 2nd grade. We kinda, not really, started dating our freshman year of high school. But we were really just best friends. Our junior year, we officially started dating but it was off and on. After Christmas that year we were together and stayed together for a year. Until January of our senior year when I got in a car accident and that put a barrier between Travis and I. But we got back together in April before we graduated. Then we went to college together. And since the end of our sophomore year, of college,we have lived together. Travis and I got married in 2017, after what felt like forever of telling people it was at some point gonna happen.
Travis: I told people forever that I was gonna propose. But I never thought the time was right. I finally proposed at Christmas in 2015. I decided that it was time and she said yes. We have been together for 15 years and 5 months. When people hear that we were high school sweethearts they always say that we will get divorced soon, but that still hasn’t happened and it won’t happen. She is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I don’t think that I would be able to function as a NFL player without her. She makes sure my bag is packed each week. I pick my outfits but she checks my bag.
Interviewer: Has she had to bring things to the games that you have forgotten?
Travis: Oh 1000%. I’m pretty sure she brought extra socks at the first home game last season. She is my lifeline, she makes sure I don’t get fired.
Y/N: I brought his jersey to him one time. That he was 100% sure that he wouldn’t forget. I think I bring him something for each home game. I don’t check his bag as thoroughly for home games. For away games I spend like 2 hours checking his bag the night before he leaves. And then like another hour and a half before he leaves. I literally check every pocket and pouch, everything.
Interviewer: What would you say is the worst part about the off season?
Travis: I would say mine is the fact that I don't really have an off season. I’m still studying film. I do routine workouts. My brain is still focused on football even if we aren’t actively practicing or playing.
Y/N: I would say mine is that it feels super short. Cause it isn’t really that great of a time. Because it is like 4 months long. Which like Travis said, isn’t really an off time. It’s probably more chaotic than the actual season. Well, training camp is the most chaotic. And not just cause Travis is doing things, but I also have to get ready for the next season, basically right after the superbowl. We do as much work as we can in the off season: like work on the house, charity work, cleaning as much as possible. Because we all know I have the hardest time keeping the house clean during the season.
Travis: Yeah, like Y/N said, we don’t have a lot of time during the season for bigger projects or things we need to do. And so the off season is the best time to do that. So it makes it hard for us to really have down time. We spend a lot of time during training camp apart so we spend the off season doing projects together.
Interviewer: What is your favorite part about a game?
Travis: Besides doing what I love… I love being able to see Y/N in the stands. We spent a long time trying out different seats at Arrowhead. Trying to find the seat we can see each other the best. And we finally did. And now it makes me the happiest. Especially when I get a touchdown or a good catch and I look up and see her sitting there..
Y/N: You're gonna make me cry. My favorite part is seeing him do his favorite thing. Seeing him play and live out his dream of playing in the NFL. I remember being in high school and he always told me that he would play his heart out in the NFL for me. And now he is.
Interviewer: Alright, the next time you will see this amazing couple will be during Training Camp.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A/N: Ok? How do we feel is it exciting? Do we like it? Give me feedback please!
Love, M
OC infodump: Forest
Tumblr media
So Forest is an OC I created fairly recently; I first came up with him back in April 2020.
He had only a few specific characteristics at that point(green hair & freckles, trans & gender non-conforming) and those stayed consistent as I ended up developing him more as the years went by.
Tumblr media
Around 2021, I made an AU of with him & other OCs, and that gave me the chance to flesh him out a bit more.
I made him Black & Iranian(his dad is Afro-Latino & his mom is Iranian), I gave him more curlier hair & let his roots show a bit, and I expanded more on his interpersonal traits to try & expand his backstory a bit.
Tumblr media
Short backstory summary: he was someone who had struggled with his identity growing up & had a hard time making friends(in part due to undiagnosed autism), so he ended up keeping to himself at times. In 7th grade, he met Liana, who instantly befriended him & she was his first best friend. Over time, his friend group grew & so did his confidence in himself. During high school, he started to dress in a more alternative/punk-ish fashion, since he didn't feel comfortable wearing "typical" feminine clothes; this was also when he started dying his hair.
After high school & entering college, he realized a couple things about himself:
He's transgender(once he became aware of that, he felt a bit more comfortable dressing femininely, now that he understands the distinction between gender identity & gender presentation)
He's demisexual; he's had a few FWBs in college, but only with people he's felt comfortable with & close to(prior to this, he thought he was just bisexual, but biromantic is more fitting for him now)
He's in love with Liana; this one was a bit difficult to accept cause some of his insecurities about relationships & himself made him feel unsure about taking his relationship with her to that level. Eventually he does tell her how he feels....about a year or two after graduating college.
Forest has become a very precious OC for me since I first made him; I got to explore some of my thoughts & feelings on sexuality, gender identity & presentation through him.
I also feel more confident with his design over the years, I like how I've given him some of my own personal traits & have that reflected within him. And I've made a bunch of AUs with him to for fun & I've got so many already!
He's been a big creative inspiration for me for my art & writing, and I'm really glad this character I made on a whim became very important to my craft & my life!!
Tumblr media
I hope to create more stuff with him soon!!
Thanks for reading!!
talk of familial death, rambly
ouugfgh. this is the first year we got the royal dansk cookies my grandma got us every Christmas and i have that weird tense throat feeling when I feel like I gotta cry but I can't. i miss her so much and we live in her house now and it just makes me miss her more. it's not the first Christmas without her, it was April 26 of 2020, I quit my job two months prior to be there for her without risking covid for me (hospitalization risk) or her (worse). i just still feel like a part of me is missing or like im waiting for someone to come home who never will and it's really difficult. I miss my grandpa too but it's been almost a decade. I'm getting better at not hating my birthday but being hospitalized on your birthday and then getting out after 5 days and having a sudden death that very night really did fuck w my head a bit <_<.
they kind of raised me. my mom did too but she had to work a lot as well so it's more like I was raised by 3 people than 1. I don't know who will be at my college graduation. it just makes my chest ache a bit because I keep losing family, and all the family I've got left is losing faith in me. I don't even know if my lil sister considers me her brother or if im just "dad's wife's son." you know?
all the family I've got left is mad at me for being wired wrong to them, and my efforts don't really matter to them because it's not the norm. man. :(
Well... I guess it's time for me to be serious. This marks the seven year anniversary of my dad passing away. I still remember the date.
February 11, 2018. I was in my dad's room, watching videos on YouTube and playing Sonic Dash on my tablet. With zero explanation, at 4:30, I lost complete interest in what I was doing. It was raining. My mom came home that night and told me the bad news. That night, I said goodbye to my dad for the last time.
We had his memorial gathering on his birthday. It was supposed to be his sixtieth birthday. A lot of people came to see my family, including the kind of family I don't like giving attention to.
Enough pity on the past!
Why don't you show how you grew as a person? I know you miss your dad, but show what happened afterwards!
Okay then.
2018: Dad died. The beginning of my development of personality started here. After my dad died, I only took one day off from school. I had prom on my 18th birthday and was the only time I pulled a complete all nighter due to attending prom and post prom. I graduated high school that year with cum laude. I start college living on campus that fall. And let me tell you, it's not 100% like the movies. I was on the Cheer team and accidentally discovered my love for horror, playing a bunch of FNAF. I start playing Sonic games, discovering that I actually loved Sonic. Yes, I wrote fanfiction at 16, but it was cringe and trauma dumping at its finest.
2019: I befriend the class snitch (big mistake), got gaslit by both the head of the special needs program along with the class snitch. Ended up alone. Had a mental breakdown that resulted in me getting suspended indefinitely (not proud of myself). Slowly figured out that I wasn't exactly straight.
2020: Remember that suspension from 2019? Well, it cost me a scholarship but it is a blessing in disguise... Because while I was suspended, I was not allowed on campus. And we all know what happened in March of that year. I completely avoided a tactical nuke because of my suspension. It turned out, my old college had a big outbreak of COVID. I honestly enjoyed the first part of COVID because it was quiet and no overstimulating activity happened outside. Got myself a temporary job at a gym as a custodian. It was nasty but the people there liked me. I completed Portal 2. And I attended a Halloween wedding that year. I dressed as a plague doctor for the XDs. That was fun. And I start writing on Wattpad.
2021: Uh... I'm not talking about what transpired here. But long story short, if you are drinking alcohol, GO SLOWLY. You'll thank me later. And that was when I learned of Poppy Playtime. I thought it was an April Fools prank by Zamination. It wasn't. Had fun playing it. And I start college in a community college. I decided to try Archive of Our Own as an outlet for my much darker stories.
2022: I kept getting misgendered online. So I started using they/them because of the obvious mistake. So now I figured out I'm pansexual and nonbinary.
2023: I entered the Billie Bust Up fandom because I found a short on YouTube, specifically one of Barnaby. Got curious. Fell in love with the game. Rest is history. Started a cosplay on Barnaby. Taught myself how to stim discreetly. (Yes, I borrowed Fantoccio's face pat stim)
Now, here we are. 2024. I wonder how much I would grow.
6 months since moving up north:
after getting stuck at my parents’ house for spring/summer 2020, i felt trapped in the state i was living in. after the events of my 21st birthday, i felt trapped in the college/college town i was at. with graduation looming, my first priority was to get a job any job far away and i did and i moved. and i think that was the right call. i proved to myself that if i ever felt stuck and suffocated like that again i could find some sort of escape route and Get Out. that was the right call and i’m glad i did it. HOWEVER. the city i moved to us not my forever home, and there were people and communities that got thrown out with the bath water. i think it’s time to move back (in april, when the lease ends) and regroup.
Art Summary 2023
(this post is a mirror of the original on my website - Link)
Tumblr media
It's that time of year again.
Another design-y layout. Noticed this year I ended up using a lot more light color schemes than last year. I guess it's because this year I wasn't really feeling the same level of 'edge' and 'excitement'. But that's a point for later on. Before that, let's talk about each piece from this year.
January - Io, meets Io!
The first finished pic of the year. Demonic Io meets Reploid Io! This was made as piece to show off both versions of Io together, and reploid! Io ended up being my PFP on other sites for most of the year.
-
February - XZA hangout
This was part of a Secret Valentines exchange for ssshrimpie on Twitter, featuring X, Zero, and Axl together in a group hangout
-
March - Io Lounge
Render of Io lounging. This was originally a companion piece to my business card design, originally made to be a postcard design that'd serve a similar purpose. But the idea ended up getting canned & this render stuck around as a page header
-
April - Battle with the Lake Demon
This one's a complete reimagining of an older piece of mine for a personal worldbuilding project of mine, spotlighting the main focus of androids hunting demons. Widow, the hunter featured, is about to land the final blow
-
May - PC-Mania!
Highlighting since this was the release of my first webseries, PC-Mania! The story of Jade and Iri, two girlfriends where after their computer breaks in a freak accident they have to get a new one... everything goes wrong. This project has had it's ups and downs since then, mostly suffering from post-graduation fatigue + being unable to rebuild a buffer in time. But It's still ongoing & at the time of writing is looking to be finished in 2024.
Available to read on Comic Fury!
-
June - MECHA-CHUSSETTS MENTIONED
I'm pretty sure this is the only thing I drew during June because I couldn't find anything else other than this pic of Io as your average New Englander. (for the record, Reploid!Io is from Mecha-chussetts… or Mecha-Chuchets as it's spelled in canon)
-
July - Autumn Travels
This year also marks my return to entering zines (the first ones I entered were way back in 2020). I was in two this year; Window to Worlds 2023, and Good Eats: An OC Zine. The one spotlighted is from Window to Worlds & was inspired by fall train trips I did during my time in college.
-
August - Me and Io
A self-indulgent pic of me with Reploid! Io. This was more of a test drive for my set-up at home, since my workspace during college was completely different from what I have at home (even with the upgrades I've made since then).
-
September - Skibidi-IO
brrr skibidi dum dum dum yes YES
Or in other words I joined a Skibidi toilet collab over on Newgrounds & now I have a pic of Io as an evil toilet hellbent on world domination
-
October - Rocket Render
Another snippet from that personal worldbuilding project, this time featuring Rocket, an old android who was built as part of a demon-fighting army, but has since retired to work on a farm and help the surviving populace that way
-
November - 9:15 Slushie
5 shorts about the surreal experience of getting a slushie from the convenience store at night, inspired by surreal experiences of my own. It was a black and white comic that was designed to be a something I could easily run copies of at home.
Available to download on Itch.Io, and read on Newgrounds
-
December - Hornet!
And finally, my piece for the Newgrounds Secret Santa featuring Blaznthekid's OC, Hornet!
-
So, 2023 huh...
Speaking from a personal standpoint, I feel like one hand there was a lot of good that came out of this year for me. I graduated college, I tabled at my first event, I entered 2 zines, I did plenty of comic stuff, and I got back into a hobby after 3 years. But also this year was extremely stressful and demoralizing on many fronts. There's witnessing the industry I went to college for beginning to go under (thanks a lot AI techbros) that started to weigh on me, as well as witnessing & getting reaffirmations on how draconic the art industry is (infact, reading through #comicsbrokeme on twitter reaffirmed my choice to stay indie). But I think a rough post-college transition and struggling to get back on my feet afterwards might've been one of the biggest hurdles in the end.
Think of it like, going from having a studio space and semi-independence & being in contact with IRLs, and then going back home to somewhere better suited to where I was 5+ years ago. Maybe it's because my area's unwalkable, or relationships with my parents have been, wonky to say the least. Or maybe it's the uncertainty of it all. There's a lot.
This year compared to even the rougher parts of 2022 I feel like I've gotten, sadder? & having a lot lower energy. As I hinted at earlier, I think it even shows in my art. I noticed while editing my galleries mid-year that I think I lost some of the 'edge' that my 2022 artwork had. Doesn't mean it's worse, but I do feel it shows the change of energy from past years to now from high-energy to just needing a break.
Last year, I ended on a note about pulling out of pursuing full-time art. Mostly due to realizing how terrible the art world currently is in terms of treating art as "content with value measured by numbers" (ugh...). Though since then, I've decided instead of fully withdrawing from art as a career I'd rather continue to pursue it as a part-time indie artist. Hey, art has always been a dream job after all. Even if I don't want to break into the industry as of now and things are pretty scuffed, I don't think I'd be happy with completely backing out either.
The bigger question now is... what now? I've made loose plans & goals for myself going forward, art-wise I still want to do comics pursue part-time work. But also, I don't really know what the future holds, and that terrifies me. And like last year & the year before it, I don't want to jinx it for myself. Most of my goals for next year are personal & more about continuing to get back on my feet post-college after scrambling and sinking. Some art related, some life related. I don't have to be shooting for the most perfect outcome, I just need to make sure I don't drown.
Cover Reveal: Out of Order by Casey Lawrence
A first look at my novel’s new cover art with JMS Books
A quick note from a friend and contributor to Writrs!
Tumblr media
In 2015, I released my first novel, Out of Order, with Dreamspinner Press. After some shady business went down in 2019/2020, I pulled my books from that publisher. For a while, I was worried they’d be out of print forever, and that my writing career would be very short-lived.
But never fear, JM Snyder is here! I am pleased to announce that I will be re-releasing my first two novels and adding a third to the Survivor’s Club series with small queer press, JMS Books. Out of Order, the first book in my series, has gotten a total makeover with JMS’s artists and editors.
It’s all shiny and new!
About the Book
Before I reveal the new cover, here’s a little bit about the book, which is an LGBTQ+ Young Adult mystery novel:
Corinna “Corey” Nguyen’s life seems perfectly average for a closeted bisexual whiz kid with her eyes on college and a budding romance with her friend Kate. Sixteen years old and navigating senior year with her tight-knit group of best friends through crushes, breakups, and pregnancy scares, Corey mistakenly believes that running for Valedictorian, choosing the right college, and coming out of the closet are the biggest things she has to worry about. That is, until prom night, when she’s left alone and in shock, hiding inside a diner bathroom, the only witness to a multiple homicide.
With graduation looming and all eyes on her, the pressure is on for Corey to identify the killer and ensure that the crime that has changed her life forever will not go unpunished.
When it was first published, Out of Order was nominated at the 2016 Bisexual Book Awards in two categories, Mystery and Teen/YA Fiction, where it was runner-up.
Drum roll, please!
I won’t keep you in the dark any longer. I am so very excited to share the new look of my first novel, which is being re-released on April 22, 2023.
Word Count Update! And other things!
I have created a spreadsheet on google sheets to catalog and visualize my word count progress as I continue to strive toward 1,000,000 words.
Tumblr media
I set out on this journey on 5 June 2022. Today is 20 April 2023, and I want to take some time to reflect back on the past almost-year’s worth of life that has happened while I’ve been cataloging my word count progress.
When I started this project, I was fresh out of a breakup, navigating polyamory and co-parenting with a broken heart. I had just bid my 7-year-long career farewell, and my future was uncertain. I was back in school after a year-long hiatus. I started this project on the heels of a lot of loss.
Since then, I’ve survived the despair-inducing end of a decade-long life partnership, read about four and a half dozen books, had the opportunity to practice forgiveness on my family and others who hurt me, celebrated finally publishing two more books, came out as nonbinary and aro-ace, navigated the unique experiences that come with being a parent to a Teenager (TM), and tied the knot. I also pushed through one of the most depressing cases of writer’s block I’ve ever experienced.
My writing, and indeed this project, was deeply entwined with that aforementioned now-ended decade-long queer-platonic life partnership. That person had become inextricably linked with my personal writing culture, and for the first time since they left town in 2020, I found myself having to write without them. Writing had been a bonding experience, a sacred and intimate act we did, together, for too long to remember. In this way, this person became synonymous with my first love (writing). To put words on paper without them in my life felt like sacrilege.
So I had to learn to write again. And as I did, writing became my constant. It began with a desire to commune with the muse who had one been so tied to my former partner. Hours, days, weeks, months spent unable to even stare at the blank page without weeping. You could say I spent my time in prayer, lingering in a sort of probationary period in a religious order with whom I had fallen out of practice, out of favor. I was a neophyte once more, confined to a vow of silence.
And so I listened. And so I read. And so I studied. And soon enough, as if from an impossible primal well, the forms of words began to come. Trickling, at first... nonfiction about mostly nothings... struggling descriptions of my aching day-to-day perpetuity... bits and pieces of verse that, alone, amounted to... maybe something... and hours, days, weeks, spent between, just trying to replenish the well, to pull something forward that wasn’t the haunting emptiness of wordlessness.
As I write this, I am about to enter a new phase of my life, moving away from my home of 14 years to an entirely different state. I’m about to graduate college, shortly after I graduate to a new stage of parenthood: my kid is entering high school. I am about to become a first-time homeowner and spend much of my free time rehabilitating a house that was abandoned for almost three years.
The world around me has gotten more dangerous. And yet, I find myself excited to step outside in ways I haven’t felt since childhood. I feel the muse, her ebbs and flows, dancing with me as I go. I see her everywhere, her touch in the wind, her smile in the rain, her gaze in the migrating sunbeam where my cat takes a nap, her voice in the beating of my heart.
I have written over 470,000 words since last April, but the most important thing I have learned since then is... to be silent. To listen. To read. To study. I know now that, in the moments where I feel the muse has abandoned me, what I need is... silence. Between the moments of feverish typing and contemplative crafting, there is a necessary peacefulness.
I will take it as the blessing it is.
What would you consider to be the worst television channel out there? I haven’t tuned in to TV channels in years, so I couldn’t tell you. I only ever use the TV for apps now, like YouTube and Disney+, even Spotify.
Are you currently sitting on your bed or some other place? Where? I’m at our rooftop table.
Did anything tend to make you extremely happy today? What was it? Yeah my dad told me about seeing Yoongi on TV while he was watching the NBA game. What is it, semifinals? Finals? Anyway he caught him and took some photos for me and I found it so hilariously endearing.
Have you ever had anyone drop off animals at your house? What kind? Yup, if I remember correctly my sister had to pet-sit her friend’s cat when she went on vacation for a few days.
Are you planning on going to the movies with anyone at all this weekend? No, I don’t really go to the movies.
What month is it? Would you consider this to be your favorite month? It’s May. My favorite month actually just passed (April). I’m indifferent about May.
Do you like any one of your friends in any other way than just a friend? Nope.
Have you ever made your bf/gf choose between you and someone else? No.
Do you remember when some of the Wal-Marts had McDonalds’ in them? Or not? I’ve never even been inside a Wal-Mart. They have restaurants in them???
When was the last time you took a shower? Was that too long ago? Last night. I wouldn’t say it was long ago hahaha, but I do have to take another one early in the morning tomorrow before I head out. Do you know where the remote to the closest television is located or not? Yeah, it’s just beside said TV.
When was the last time you were somewhere that offered free Wi-Fi? This afternoon. I was at a coffee shop and the barista offered the wi-fi password, but free wi-fi tends to be crap so I just opted for my own data.
Do you know anyone who is on drugs? Are you personally on them? Hmm, not that I know of. And no, I’m not.
Name one interesting fact about yourself that people might not know about? It baffles people more than interests them, but my go-to fact is that I don’t eat fruits just because it usually garners the most interaction and reaction lol.
Do you ever have to write down a phone number to remember it, or not? For sure. I can’t remember series of numbers just by memory.
Who was the last person you talked to on an instant messaging service? Workmates; just sent them final reminders a few minutes ago for our event tomorrow.
What color are your curtains? Are you satisfied with this color? I have blinds, and they’re a shade of off-white. I like them, but I wish I also had blackout curtains as there are days that I don’t like natural light to seep into my room.
Does your phone have texting? How many times a day do you text, estimate? Yup. It really depends on my text workload for the day lol since sometimes I have to reach out to media or influencer handlers through text, but most of the time I use chat platforms like Viber.
When was the last time you were stung by a bee? What kind was it? I’ve never been stung by a bee and never want to be stung by a bee.
Do you know anyone personally who had their house burn down before? Part of the house yes, but I don’t think I know anyone whose entire house burned down.
Do you think the media can further manipulate our teenagers anymore? Sure, but I feel like the older generation is more vulnerable to manipulation.
Who would you consider to be your favorite American Idol on the show? None of my picks in the seasons I did watch ended up winning, lol. They were always booted out early on, or finished as a runner-up.
What grade will you be in when your school starts back? When does it start? I graduated college in 2020 and have no immediate plans to go back.
Have you ever had someone sympathetically lie to make you feel better? Oh, I’m sure. It’s just small white lies like ‘it’s gonna be okay’ but I’m counting those anyway.
Do you know anyone who constantly puts themselves down? Why? Hmm, I don’t think so. Everyone I know seems to be genuinely doing well.
When was the last time you layed at night and looked at the stars? Couple of weeks ago when Amygdala first came out, especially when the video came out. That song makes me think.
What would you consider the cheesiest pick up line ever invented? I’m not a fan of them in general.
If you have an iTouch or iPhone, what would you consider your favorite App? Twitter.
When was the last time you had a piece of cake? What was the occassion? Today. No occasion, it’s just what I had at the coffee shop as I didn’t feel like having a savory meal.
Do you know anyone who has their septum pierced? Does it look painful? A few people I went to college with. Yeah, I think piercings look painful to get in general.
Do you think some famous people just shouldn’t be famous at all? Who? I guess, and I feel this way mostly towards influencers who make a living out of controversies or dumbing themselves down for the camera. Off the top of my head, people like Trisha Paytas or Nikocado Avocado haha.
When was the last time you heard your favorite song on the radio if ever? I don’t have a favorite song but I was excited to hear Permission to Dance at a cafe that was playing the radio a week ago.
Do you wish you had a different first name? What do you wish it could be? I felt that way only as a kid, when I wanted to be called Isabelle instead (my second name) because I wanted people in school to stop teasing me for my first name.
Has anyone ever complimented you on your singing? Did you believe them? No, there is nothing to compliment hahaha.
Do you know someone who constantly tries to embarass you on all ocassions? Used to. I wouldn’t want to stick around with someone like that.
Do you know anyone who has dyed their hair a ridiculous neon color? Yeah but I wouldn’t deem it ridiculous. Just do whatever you want to your hair lol.
What is your favorite kind of potato chip? Are they cheap to buy? I like the taste of baked potato chips more than your ordinary chips. I don’t actually know if they cost more or not.
Are you afraid to save your surveys cause you think people will read them? Back when I was super new to surveys, I was shy about the idea of people seeing them because I thought I was the only one doing them lol so I never saved them. Like I literally just filled out the template then moved to the next without ever saving. At some point I figured my surveys would be interesting to keep as an archive, so I started a Tumblr where I dumped surveys. To this day I like reading my surveys from years ago to see how I’ve changed, to see the parts where I used to be cringey, to bring back memories I’ve since forgotten.
Has anyone ever kissed you in the rain? Did it seem romantic at the time? I don’t think so.
What is one part on your body that hurts at this moment, if anything? Lower back.
What was the last song you listened to? Did you enjoy this song? Dope by BTS. Yes, I love it.
What is your heritage? Do you have a bunch of mixed heritages? Filipino.
When was the last time you listened to a genre of you music you despise? I never listen to country haha.
How satisfied with life are you at this exact moment in time? Why is this? 8 in general, 3 in the immediate short-term because I fucking hate the work I’m stuck in right now. I CAN’T WAIT FOR THAILAND
I will add more facts when inspiration comes to me. I also have an idea to make a Game of Thrones fanfiction, and this brought it back; let me know if you would be interested in reading it if I ever publish it.
2024 update: since her discography involves Ariana Grande, in this universe, someone else will play Cat Valentine in Victorious and Sam & Cat, and I’m only putting her in All That because I watched the reruns back in the day when I had cable and not because of what’s happening. (He should have apologized a long time ago instead of staying silent, and the fact he finally spoke up, said something, and “apologized” is wild).
hi legacy, it’s eri! ♡
i am back with a second muse already, and it’s only been a month. i’ve been working on this muse almost as long as i’ve had lgcjiae. he actually initially had a totally different fc but then i dreamed of choi san and bam! meet lgckiha or yoo kiha, a twenty two year old fourth year idol trainee from daegu with issues™ ( a lawful good aquarius who is an isfj-a ). i’ve actually redacted a lot of his biography for partial mysterious vibes so have fun with getting to know him. if you are interested in knowing what you can about kiha then you can check out his main pages here ( profile / biography ), but in usual eri fashion i’ve provided you with his life story and fun facts beneath the cut anyways. and unlike last time, i do have a connections page which is mostly angsty / long term / established plots that will require a good bit of plotting and will cause more mental anguish for kiha!!! hahahaha please, but i have got a few plot ideas under the cut too if you’re looking for something easier!
anyways, moving on. let’s plot! and so i don’t have to make another plot call, you are more than welcome to LIKE this post if you’re interested in plotting. and i will come to you, ofc ♡ also feel free to ask for my twitter or discord if you wanna plot but just not on here ( i really find tumblr dms unreliable and overwhelming, but it’s also probably because i too am both unreliable and overwhelming ). anyways, please give my boy lots of love ♡
tl;dr on kiha!
born on february 13, 2000 in daegu, south korea to first time parents, later became a big (and extremely proud and protective) brother to yoo taeha who was born in april 2006!!!
grew up living with his parents, sister and paternal grandparents in a three bedroom house where they ran a small general goods stores from the first floor of their home
he was actually a really happy, vibrant kid growing up
( tw parent death ) his mom was killed in a car accident involving a drunk driver on christmas eve in 2010, kiha was 10 and taeha was 4 ( basically it really messed up everyone’s lives from there on out, i’ll elaborate in private if you wanna know more~ )
their father more or less checked out of his responsibilities where being a parent was concerned, so kiha and taeha were raised predominately by their grandparents for the rest of their childhood and into adolescence
( tw mental health / medication ) ended up attending therapy as a kid and ended up on medication ( he still attends therapy regular and still takes medication to this day, but he is extremely private about his life and doesn’t talk to anyone about any of this stuff )
started playing volleyball in middle school ( to make friends, work on socialising better, to find confidence and self love ) also volleyball is just really fun, kiha’s a libero
he ended up playing volleyball throughout high school and would of ended up playing into college if he hadn’t ended up at legacy / studying through a cyber university
started dancing at sixteen with the support of his grandparents and little sister ( turns out he had a great natural talent for dancing and was able to really work on his skills, was also something he was able to share with his little sister and it eventually led him to his current place at legacy )
graduated from high school and relocated to seoul to attend university ( and to escape his past / home life which was getting more turbulent and unhealthy as kiha got older )
auditioned for legacy in january 2020 on a whim and got in, was a little apprehensive at first but he really grew to love and appreciate the company ( and everyone at it lol )
between studying and training, he works part time at a convenience store near legacy, you’ll catch him there after training a couple of nights a week ( he works to keep a little for himself but mainly to support his sister )
he goes home every few weeks to visit his grandparents, sister and his mom in daegu when his schedule permits ( family is very important to him )
kiha fun facts!
Director's Commentary on When Everything Else is Gone series?
AH YES, my quarantine beloved, my return from hiatus, the very silly thing that's gotten out of hand!
The first part (ICYWM) was originally written and posted on LJ in April-May of 2010. Looking back, that was an incredibly liminal time in my life--getting ready to graduate high school, preparing for the huge life transition to college, recognizing my all-encompassing gayness, the list goes on and on. As a show, Seeker was really a touchstone for me on all of those fronts. And though I'd written a handful of fics before it, this is the one that stores all of my Feels from that era. I have vivid memories of blowing off my independent study classes to write, and working on it until sunrise on the night I finished it (god, way too old for that shit now).
And at that time, it felt like a standalone story, sure--but I started to idly gather some ideas for a sequel. Maybe a three-parter to wrap up the story, incorporating ideas from the later Sword of Truth books (derogatory). Had to set it aside for the reality of college, though.
Fast forward to summer of 2019! At that time I had a job that involved having the summers off, so I end up having a lightbulb moment of "I should rewatch Seeker!" And I do. And the nostalgia overcomes me, and I find my old fic files on a hard drive. Realize I haven't looked at AO3 in years upon years, since 2011, and that ICYWM isn't even posted on my profile. So I think, why the hell not, do a grammar pass and toss it up there. Think about that sequel again, but still do nothing about it. Haven't written in eight and a half years, out of the habit entirely.
Then we get to 2020. And the world was fucked, apart from one thing: Tab and Bridget's instagram live in April, which I saw totally by happenstance. And then there's me, working from home, craving stimulation, yeeted headlong back into my Cara/Kahlan obsession. Outta nowhere, writing that sequel became a reality, and I just...started. With feral motivation. Reread key books (derogatory), started plotting, and...lmao "three parts" have quickly turned into over 126K words of ridiculousness that's probably only halfway done?? And I'll get back to it, because I've clearly never been able to let these two go, and I never will.
For those of you still hanging on here, I'll spoil a little bit of what's in store. Nicci's got a pretty huge role to play, soon. And you should be paying attention to the weapons Cara is no longer carrying. Let's just say that not all is as it seems.
The Class of 2024 (AP) On a recent afternoon, Grant Oh zigzagged across the University of Southern California campus as if he was conquering an obstacle course, coming up against police blockade after police blockade on his way to his apartment while officers arrested demonstrators protesting the Israel-Hamas war. In many ways, the chaotic moment was the culmination of a college life that started amid the coronavirus pandemic and has been marked by continual upheaval in what has become a constant battle for normalcy. Oh already missed his prom and his high school graduation as COVID-19 surged in 2020. He started college with online classes. Now the 20-year-old will add another missed milestone to his life: USC has canceled its main commencement ceremony that was expected to be attended by 65,000 people. “It’s crazy because I remember starting freshman year with the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, which came after senior year of high school when the Black Lives Matter protests were happening and COVID, and xenophobia,” he said “It feels definitely surreal. It still shocks me that we live in a world that is so fired up and so willing to tear itself apart.”
Tornadoes kill 4 in Oklahoma and leave trail of destruction (AP) Tornadoes killed at least four people in Oklahoma and left thousands without power Sunday after a destructive outbreak of severe weather flattened buildings in the heart of one rural town and injured dozens of people. Nearly 30,000 people remained without electricity after tornadoes began late Saturday night. The destruction was extensive in Sulphur, a town of about 5,000 people, where many downtown buildings were reduced to rubble and roofs were sheared off houses across a 15-block radius. “You just can’t believe the destruction,” Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt said during a visit to the hard-hit town. “It seems like every business downtown has been destroyed.” Stitt said about 30 people were injured in Sulphur alone. Dozens of reported tornadoes have wreaked havoc in the nation’s midsection since Friday.
Millions of American kids are caregivers. (WSJ) Leo Remis goes to high school, plays videogames, and helps take care of his disabled mom. Three afternoons a week, he flexes his mom’s legs and arms to keep muscles from deteriorating and blood clots from forming. When her hands shake, he helps her eat and brushes her teeth. “It is my normal,” says Leo, a tall, lanky 15-year-old high-school freshman. There are an estimated 5.4 million children providing care to parents, grandparents or siblings with chronic medical conditions or functional decline, up from about 1.3 million nearly 20 years ago.
New leaders take on Haiti’s chaos as those living in fear demand swift solutions to gang violence (AP) It has been only a day since the transitional presidential council was installed in Haiti, and the list of demands on the Caribbean nation’s new leaders is rapidly growing. Haitians want security, food, jobs—and they want them now. The members of the council, tasked with with bringing political stability to Haiti, are under immense pressure to produce quick results, despite a deep-seated crisis that has been years in the making. Making Haiti safer is a priority. More than 2,500 people were killed or injured from January to March alone, and more than 90,000 have fled the capital of Port-au-Prince so far this year amid relentless gang violence. “The task is really monumental,” said Robert Fatton, a Haitian politics expert at the University of Virginia. Gangs have burned police stations, opened fire on the main international airport that has been closed since early March, and stormed the country’s two biggest prisons, releasing more than 4,000 inmates.
Assailants ambush and kill 3 police officers in southern Chile, shaking the country (AP) Armed assailants ambushed and killed three law enforcement officers in southern Chile on Saturday before setting their car on fire, authorities said, the latest attack on police to revive security concerns in the South American country. It remains unclear who carried out the assault on Chile’s national police force in the Biobío region some 400 kilometers (about 250 miles) south of Santiago, the capital. But a long-simmering conflict between the Mapuche indigenous community and landowners and forestry companies in Biobío and Chile’s Araucanía region farther south has intensified in recent years. That has prompted the government to impose a state of emergency and deploy the military to provide security. Armed Mapuche activists have long stolen timber and attacked forestry companies that they claim invaded their ancestral lands, among other targets like churches and national institutions.
Britain’s Conservative Party, like the U.S. Republican Party, is in turmoil (Washington Post) Five years ago, Britain’s Conservative Party scored a landslide victory in a general election that contained outlines of a realignment in that nation’s politics. Today, those same Conservatives appear headed for one of their worst defeats in a generation, an unraveling of a once-proud party that has come with astonishing swiftness. The decline and fall of the Conservatives is the story of a political party that has become exhausted and inward-looking after more than a decade in power. Not unlike the Republican Party in the United States, it is riven by factionalism, stained by scandal and judged by many voters as incapable of dealing with the country’s problems—all amplified by a whipsawing series of leadership changes. Since 2010, Britain has had five Conservative prime ministers, including three in 2022 alone. One of them, Liz Truss, lasted just seven weeks. British politics have been through a whirlwind over the past decade: a failed referendum on independence for Scotland in 2014, a general election in 2015, the Brexit referendum in 2016 that took Britain out of the European Union, another general election in 2017, then the election in 2019, followed by two years of the pandemic and then the rapid succession of leaders in 2022.
Orange crush: Boats packed with revelers tour Amsterdam canals to celebrate the king’s birthday (AP) Decked in the national orange color, dancing to music, and eating orange-glazed pastries, many in the Netherlands Saturday are marking King’s Day, celebrating the birthday of their monarch. As King Willem-Alexander celebrated his 57th birthday with his family in the northeastern city of Emmen, people across the country engaged in the traditional “free markets” held on that day, selling second-hand toys, books and other items. Others toured through the historic canals of the capital, Amsterdam, with vessels of all shapes and sizes jostling for space on a busy canal.
Russia renews attacks on the Ukrainian energy sector as Kyiv launches drones at southern Russia (AP) Russia launched a barrage of missiles against Ukraine overnight, in attacks that appeared to target the country’s energy infrastructure. Meanwhile, Russia said its air defense systems had intercepted more than 60 Ukrainian drones over the southern Krasnodar region. Ukraine’s air force said Saturday that Russia had launched 34 missiles against Ukraine overnight, of which 21 had been shot down by Ukrainian air defenses. Private energy operator DTEK said four of its thermal power plants were damaged and that there were “casualties,” without going into detail. Earlier this month Russia destroyed one of Ukraine’s largest power plants and damaged others in a massive missile and drone attack as it renewed its push to target Ukraine’s energy facilities.
The US and China talk past each other on most issues, but at least they’re still talking (AP) U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken wrapped up his just-concluded latest visit to China with a stop at a Beijing record store where he bought albums by Taylor Swift and Chinese rocker Dou Wei in a symbolic nod to cross-cultural exchanges and understanding he had been promoting for three days. Yet Swift’s “Midnights” and Dou Wei’s “Black Dream” could just as easily represent the seemingly intractable divisions in the deeply troubled relationship between the world’s two largest economies that both sides publicly and privately blame on the other. Blinken and his Chinese interlocutors, including Chinese President Xi Jinping and Foreign Minister Wang Yi, all referred to these rifts even as they extolled the virtues of keeping communication channels open to manage these differences and avoid misunderstandings and miscalculations.
Fears of a new war on Israel’s border with Lebanon (Guardian) For the Israeli communities evacuated from the country’s far north in the aftermath of 7 October, there is no longer any doubt about whether full-scale war with Hezbollah in Lebanon is going to happen. For most people, the only question is when. Nissan Zeevi, 40, has spent the past six months working as a first responder in Kfar Giladi. “Everyone knows something is going to happen, because we have to push Hezbollah back to be safe.” In the first days after Israel began its retaliatory offensive in Gaza, US president Joe Biden dissuaded Israel’s war cabinet from also launching a preventative ground offensive on Hezbollah that could trigger a regional conflict. Instead, on Israel’s northern front, the two sides have found themselves fighting a war of attrition, but the situation is unsustainable and getting more dangerous by the day. About 60,000 people living in northern Israel were given evacuation orders and another 20,000 left of their own accord, damaging harvests and shuttering businesses. Weeds have grown tall in deserted gardens and parks. On the Lebanese side of the border, approximately 100,000 people have fled their homes, but without government funding to stay in repurposed hotels or holiday apartments. No one, on either side, knows when they will be able to safely return.
Aid Flows to Gaza Are Rising, U.N. Says, but More Is Needed (NYT) Under intense international scrutiny, Israel has expedited the flow of aid into Gaza this month, but humanitarian groups say that more is needed as severe hunger grips the enclave, particularly in the devastated north. The increased levels of aid are a good sign, but it is too early to say that looming famine is no longer a risk, said Arif Husain, the chief economist at the United Nations World Food Program. “This cannot just happen for a day or a week—it has to happen every single day for the foreseeable future,” Mr. Husain said, adding that the main need was for more food, water and medicine. “If we can do this, then we can ease the pain, we can avert famine.”
Education
Tumblr media
Originally the Philippines had one of the shortest education systems in the world, which consisted of 6 years of primary school and 4 years of high school. This system would soon be changed in 2012 when the education system in the Philippines would be modeled from other countries around the world but it is like that of the United States adopting the k-12 system. The 13-year education system is free but also mandatory by law to attend. The three levels of education look like primary school k-6, junior high school 7-10, and senior high school 11-12. Even though public school is free most Filipinos try to send their kids to private school due to the better education system. Post secondary is offered in the Philippines but not that many Filipinos go due to the financial burden that comes with it.
Typical school days in the Philippines usually start in the morning at 0730 am and ends at 5 pm. Kids in the Philippines usually go to school Monday through Friday; the academic year usually starts in June and ends either in March or April. High school students take 10 subjects every year required from the National Department of Education. All students usually stay in one classroom as teachers walk out after they are done teaching their subject. Students also do not receive immediate feedback on their work or one-on-one consultation. They wait until the end of the semester to review any comments from the teacher.
2 out of 5 high school students do not pursue higher education due to the high tuition fees and the other expenses that they may face while in. In an interesting event though in 2020 according to Philstar global that only 13% of Filipinos finished college while only 9% of kids in the Philippines finished elementary. This may be due to that only 21% of Filipinos have obtained a high school diploma which may result the low post secondary numbers. Of the college graduates 25.6% were female and 21.3% were males. The Philippines education system has been on a two-decade crusade to improve these numbers and as of 2020 these have been the best numbers the Philippines have seen.
Like I stated earlier that the Philippines have a strict Interary when it comes to their education system with electives not really being a thing in the education system. The Philippines is a lot like that of the US where mathematics like algebra, calculus, and trigonometry are taught then history courses like the nation's history, Asian history, and world history. Lastly, the basic courses of science and literature to round out the curriculum. I believe that these topics being taught in the Philippines are that of the US. They are learning about their culture and history but also looking into other different perspectives of other cultures around the world. I would compare the two and would say that comapritvely that both education systems are remarkably similar when it comes to their curriculum.
I haven't been on tumblr in AGES...
So I got bored today (03/25/24) and decided that I was gonna make a tumblr and see how long I can be active. Since the last time I've been on tumblr in 2012, the following has happened:
I graduated highschool in 2013 and went straight to college, Morris College 🐝
I had my first alcoholic beverage on the first day off college. It was this purple drink called "Oil" (a frat drink made by the bruhz)
I met this boy who was supposed to be my husband, haitian boy name Simon from Jersey. We really liked each other 😍
Simon left in the middle of freshman year. I was heartbroken. 💔
I too left end of my Sophomore year and transferred to Benedict College 🐯
It was ALOT more freedom at BC than it was at MoCo my freshman year (I kinda had to start over).
I met a boy name Manny. He ran track. We was together 24/7! (Me, him, ASAP, Missy, and this other boy I forgot his name). We really used to kick it, HARD!
MANNY BECAME A KAPPA AND I WAS BEYOND OVER HIM.
Sophomore year I was chilling. I joined Alpha Rho Theta Fraternity of the Creative & Performing Arts.
Junior year was my best year. I had the most fun. I lost some friends, I gained better friends.
I met Uche (probably the best person I met in college). If you seen Uche, you seen Dash.
I became a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. in 2017. I didn't switch up on my folks like Manny did me.
I was president of Pre-Alumni Council so 30% of the reason campus was lit was because of me (& Wall2Wall).
Rest In Peace Don 🦗🕊 I'll miss you forever.
My brother attended Benedict after he graduated high school. I was fun having him there.
Senior year, I GRADUATED 2018! But I couldn't walk until May 2019. It's cool though cause I still graduated.
I lived in an apartment up until 2020 and moved back home with my mom to figure out life and stack some bread.
2021, I moved back to Columbia with my cousin Boo Boo Kitty because I just couldn't take home anymore.
A random day in 2021, I decided I wanted to move to Atlanta. Why? I was tired of South Carolina.
April of 2021 I moved to Atlanta in a house with a girl name Tola. We are GREAT friends now.
May 2021 I met a boy name Luckie (keep reading to figure out what happened to him).
2022 I started working at different clubs. I worked at da*mn near every sneaker store in Atlanta. I was really in HUSTLE MODE.
2023 I got pregnant by LUCKIE.
2023, I also got saved.
November 8, 2023 I had a sweet baby boy name Kamron 💙
HERE WE ARE TODAY.. AND I'VE BEEN MOMMY MODE EVER SINCE.
