Anon how did u read my brain to find out I have been cookin this post for the last few days lol. Happy Valentine's to all of you, my lovelies.

Kazuma Kiryu

Simple but classy. As it stands, he can't really do anything big or fancy and the Daidoji sure as hell won't let him do many dinner dates if any at all but he makes the most of it. Probably gives you a bouquet of your favorite flowers and a heartfelt letter.

Majima Goro

A chocolate thief is on the loose in Sotenbori and his name is Majima Goro. If a giant heart-shaped red velvet size box appears on your doorstep, it's from him. He might even be in it. Open it and find out.

Saejima Taiga

A mix of getting you some gifts and making you something handmade. He's typically torn between two strategies: making you a handmade gift and taking you out to dinner or buying you a gift and making you dinner. Heads up, he will at some point make a handcarved wooden figurine or statue for you one of these years.

Akiyama Shun

You'd think it would be beyond human capabilities for this man to get any sappier than he is but somehow he does it every time. A class act with just the right amount of cheese. Dinner, flowers, the works. You can't tell if you're just that starry eyed over this man or if he actually just fucking sparkles.

Tanimura Masayoshi

Can't afford too much on his salary, but he'll make you an adorable custom basket of all your favorite snacks. Will totally pull some strings at Homeland to get the restaurant open to just you two.

Ryuji Goda

Can afford whatever the hell you want and has no reservations about doing so. However, he DOES have reservations at your favorite restaurant with a bottle of your favorite wine, alongside one of every single favorite item of yours on the planet. Always gets you a piece of customized jewelry.

Nishikiyama Akira

Always gets you a customized bouquet of flowers. Actually pretty into the arrangement and colors and is particular about getting yours just right. Might just even make one himself one of these days. Also gets one of those customizable chocolate boxes or a luxury bag.

Daigo Dojima

Are roses and candles cheesy? Yes. Cheesy is also Daigo's middle name when it comes to Valentine's Day. Man's straight out of a 90's romcom. Probably got the idea from a 90's romcom, actually. Will also be down to watch a 90's romcom with you. Seriously, he prefers a cozy night in anyways.

Mine Yoshitaka

Same vibe as Daigo but sluttier. Seriously. He's a champagne and bubble bath type of hoe, followed by what can only be described as mind blowing sex. Out of all the boys, he's the one who's most likely to have sex on Valentine's Day.

Tatsuo Shinada

He will try his hand at baking you some homemade goodies. Be warned, the first few attempts will be a little wonky. He's doing his best though! He can't afford much so he likes to do homemade things. Would also be down to bake or cook something with you if you're into that.

Ichiban Kasuga

He'd take you on a date that includes all of your favorite activites and your favorite places. As long as he's spending time with you, that's what counts. Will totally end the day by just blurting out something sappy and romantic but would he be Ichiban if he didn't?

Yu Nanba

Likes to do something relaxing, particularly if it takes you two away from the city. Nothing like the peace and quiet of the countryside so you two can be as close as possible. Probably would take a weekend to go to a hot spring with you.

Adachi Koichi

Will actually ask you to be his Valentine. Total cheesefest with this guy. Type of fella to hold a rose between his teeth and say something dumb like "Hey babe, come here often?". In terms of activites, he doesn't have much beyond a nice dinner planned but his personality just oozes goofy, silly love.

Tianyou Zhao

If you thought he'd be doing anything other than cooking you an overly extravagant dinner all by himself, then you'd be dead wrong. Man's out here cooking all your favorite foods, baking your favorite desserts, and making them unbelievably pretty and fancy. He's out here making roses out of the freakin' dumpling pastry, for cryin' out loud!

Joon-Gi Han (Y7)

Sweetie boy is doing his best. Gets a nice cake with a custom message on it, or takes you to an adorable cafe and eats a bunch of sweets with you. Also, yes he's dressing in matching outfits, duh!

Joon-Gi Han (Y6)

This boytoy is taking you to the biggest, fanciest club in town and ordering the biggest, fanciest bottle of champagne they have. Also one of the boys who is likely to get down and dirty on Valentine's Day.

Osamu Kashiwagi

Total class. Years have given him enough knowledge and expertise to pull off a classic Valentine's Day without a hitch. Thinks of everything, from the flowers and dinner all the way down to what color tie goes best with what color suit that would match best with your outfits. Lots of kisses on the back of your hand.

Persona Stalker Club Episode 5 "I SEES It! Adachi Edition" Q&A

These were the questions asked about Adachi on the Persona Stalker Club broadcast where Mitsuaki Madono (Adachi's Japanese voice actor) was a guest. I've seen the answers to a couple of them floating around in English before, but not all of them.

Question from "Mochi-filled Cabbage": Good evening, Isomura & Kajita! When I heard about the "I S.E.E.S It! Adachi Edition", I couldn't help myself, and submitted a question. Now, my question is: Why do Dojima and Adachi wear the same red tie? It's weird that the two of them wear a plain, bright red necktie that would stand out like a sore thumb even if they weren't detectives. Was it just a coincidence, or is there a reason for this? Answer: Dojima couldn't stand seeing Adachi wear some old wrinkled worn-out tie, so Dojima gave Adachi one of his spares.

Question from "Loki": I have a quick question. Adachi's hobby is supposedly "revolver maintenance", but it doesn't seem like he can do things that require dexterity very well, and he's never shown actually maintaining a revolver in the story. Can he really do revolver maintenance? Answer: He does maintenance on model guns he owns at home since he can't take his police-issued revolver home.

Adachi can't take his revolver home because it stays locked up at the station. This is due to citizens stealing them from officers during the 1950s. Additionally, since he's a "plain clothes detective", he wouldn't be able to take his on the field unless he gets permission to bring it along for something specific.

Question from "Class 2-4": In a particular scene, Adachi whips out a lighter from his pocket. Does he smoke? Answer: Adachi doesn't smoke himself. He keeps a lighter on-hand in case Dojima asks for a light.

Question from "Hearing Madono in anime makes me think of Adachi": Adachi always calls the main characters "naive", "dumb kids", and generally looks down on them, but he's quite relaxed when it comes to Dojima, and I don't think he's ever said a bad thing about him. I want to know why Adachi is like that with Dojima. What happened when they first met? Thank you for your time. Answer: One of the reasons why is because when they first met, Dojima got him sushi so Adachi thought he was a good guy.

Question from "1st Year in the History of Persona Stalker Club Class": In the story, Adachi buys a lot of cabbage. What did he make with all of that cabbage? (Actually, can Adachi even cook?) Answer: Adachi would cut up a fresh ball of cabbage vertically into large pieces like it's a watermelon, and have it as a beer snack with some miso and mayo.

Madono's simple cabbage recipe: "Shred some cabbage, then shred from seasoned seaweed, and mix them both with sesame oil - easy and tasty."

Question from "I want to Become a Cabbage": I always love playing Persona games! Adachi, one of the characters in Persona 4, is now a popular character. He's become Persona 4's ratings guy / crowd pleaser. That said, when you were making Persona 4, were you consciously trying to make Adachi a character that wouldn't be hated but rather adored by the players? What is the appeal of Adachi, who, despite being "egocentric" (reference to his P4U2 epitaph), has acquired a loyal fanbase? Answer: During production, we cared about all of the characters, not just Adachi. We're quite pleased to see when a character unexpectedly becomes popular. As for his appeal, that's up to you.

Adachi never thought he’d be the kind of person to lounge around in bed during the middle of the day.

Then again, he never thought he’d fall so deeply in love or be so blissfully happy, either. And lounging around in bed is a different thing indeed when you’ve got someone with you, their arms wrapped around you tight and their body pressed against yours.

Besides, they’ve had a busy work week - Kurosawa especially - so Adachi thinks they’ve earned this.

He feels rather than hears Kurosawa sigh, his breath warm against the back of Adachi’s neck. He follows the sigh by softly saying, “I used to dream about this, you know.”

“Oh?” Adachi’s heart flutters. It’s new information but it doesn’t exactly surprise him. “I never saw that fantasy.”

Kurosawa stiffens slightly against him. Then he’s pulling away, just a little bit but enough to make Adachi want to whine at the loss of contact. 

“What do you mean by that fantasy?”

Ah. Adachi swallows, then reluctantly turns around. They don’t really talk about his magic much, especially not since he lost it, but it seems like the kind of conversation that should happen face to face. Even if Adachi feels too shy about it to look Kurosawa in the eye.

“I saw a few of your, ah, ideas about us,” he admits. “Usually, I’d only pick up on words but I guess if the mental picture was strong enough, it would… transmit.”

Kurosawa hums. “So what did you see?”

“Mostly it was mushy couple stuff,” Adachi says, and Kurosawa smiles, completely unembarrassed. “Sometimes you were just picturing me… it felt strange,” he admits, “seeing myself the way you did. It overwhelmed me, to think that someone could see me like that.”

“Like what?”

Adachi pauses, trying to think of the best words to describe it. “Like I was special.”

“You are,” Kurosawa says without hesitation. 

He takes Adachi’s hand, bringing it up to his lips and pressing a soft kiss in the center of his palm. Adachi fights the urge to squirm, warmth blooming in his chest and rushing through his body like an avalanche. It still catches him off guard, how Kurosawa can make him feel so loved with such a simple gesture.

“You’re the most beautiful person,” Kurosawa continues, apparently not done, “the kindest, most courageous, the most adorable-”

“Alright,” Adachi laughs, squeezing Kurosawa’s hand. “I get it, you don’t have to keep going.”

“I could, though,” Kurosawa says, but he mercifully doesn’t. Adachi’s not sure his heart could handle it. “I could keep going for at least a hundred years.”

“Please don’t.”

Kurosawa laughs quietly. He adjusts his grip on Adachi’s hand, entwining their fingers, but suddenly even that doesn’t feel like enough contact. Adachi scoots closer, knees knocking gently together, bringing his forehead to rest against Kurosawa’s. He feels Kurosawa’s breath hitch, feels his body relax in the next moment.

“You know I think all of these things about you too, right?” Adachi mumbles, cheeks growing warm. “Even if I’m bad at saying them out loud.”

Kurosawa’s smile grows softer, eyes sparkling. “I know,” he assures Adachi.

He knows Kurosawa is telling the truth but he still feels a bit guilty, because Kurosawa deserves to hear these words. Maybe someday, Adachi will feel confident enough to say them without feeling like he’s cracked his chest open. 

Right now, this is enough; just holding each other, basking in each other’s light like they’re both at once a delicate flower in the springtime and the sun shining down on it.

Eugh. Adachi makes a face at his own analogy. Maybe mushiness is catching?

“What are you thinking?” Kurosawa asks, sounding amused. 

“Nothing,” Adachi lies quickly.

Kurosawa hums in response, clearly not believing him. Adachi leans in, closing that little bit of distance between them and distracting him with a kiss.

And if their afternoon cuddle turns into a lazy makeout session, that’s simply out of Adachi’s control. It’s not his fault his boyfriend is both so easily distracted and so kissable.

Wondermagenta’s terrible persona 5 criticism pt 2

What is with the attitude for a reviewer the tone here is awfully condescending and dismissive like “oh this stupid game isn’t worth my time” like at least cvit had the decency to be thorough (well then again that’s not saying much

Uh oh boy someone clearly doesn’t understand akechi’s character if there making this dumb complaint

I’ll just be brief but to put it bluntly akechi is supposed to be like the phantom thieves but gone down the wrong path like many of the others he is someone who was shunned and taken advantage of however instead of reforming society like the phantom thieves he wants to take revenge through killing shido and humiliating him I’ll touch on more of his character as I go along

Oh sure it’s not like hiding your true self WAS A CONSISTENT THEME THROUGHOUT THE GAME and using light and Adachi when both of them had to hide their true selves posing as a simple high school student and an idiot detective respectively and akechi does that as well he’s what happens when you constantly try to seek approval from people who don’t deserve eventually they might turn on you like what happened in shido’s palace Why are you such a moron you sham game designer!

The reason the game is because it recognizes akechi despite everything he’s done is still a victim it doesn’t justify his actions but it lets us empathize with him as well as akechi’s jealousy over joker being loved while he’s alone don’t get me wrong he’s an asshole but he’s still human

Also I find it pretty hypocritical to praise light and then call akechi unrealistic when they both kill in your same blog

Futabas mother was killed by people who work for shido and those same men lied about why futabas mother died

Okumura was paying to cause mental shutdowns

Sad was part of the siu prior to her change

“You know... I didn’t think fog could be so calming before I got to know you.”

A simple truth. Not a huge, profound confession, but he had never been the type.

Izanami continued to hold his hand, gaze up at the foggy air around them, a soft smile adorning her face.

There was no wolfish grin with too many teeth and a wrinkled nose, but her scarlet eyes gleamed with the same light that they did when she smiled like nothing else mattered.

When nothing except him mattered.

“Fog can be beautiful if you open your eyes and look. Everything in this world is like that. Though nothing is without its ugliness, there are aspects that shine through when you least expect them to,” Izanami said, looking at him.

Her smile grew, and she turned her gaze back to the sky. “...Thank you for trusting me, keijisan.”

“Even as a primordial goddess of death, you still insist on calling me that...” Adachi murmured, shaking his head.

Izanami was odd. She made crude jokes and smiled with too much teeth and had no concept of personal space.

And he was whipped.

It wasn’t a dramatic realisation, no ‘oh’ moment that hit him like a train, no flustered mess of tripping over his own words and avoiding his lover out of embarassment.

He just knew.

Dojima-san probably would have called it a ‘detective’s intuition’, being able to tell someone was affecting you differently.

But it wasn’t that. It was somehow knowing that even though nothing had happened yet, technically, if Izanami told him to do something for her, he’d do it without question.

Like a dog.

He loved Izanami like a hound, thoughts constantly drifting back to her, the desire to always be near her in some way or another, accompanying her wherever she went unless she said otherwise.

But Izanami didn’t treat him like a dog. She didn’t have him leashed to her side at all times, she didn’t keep him locked up and hidden away.

She treated him like something fragile and delicate, holding him and looking at him like he was the rarest flower to ever bloom.

She loved him like he was something to be cherished, he loved her like a dog.

How funny.

He was barely aware of Izanami speaking until he felt someone cupping his cheek.

“What- Ah, sorry... Could you repeat that...?”

Izanami smiled, too much teeth and a wrinkled nose, and tilted her head slightly.

“Nothing important,” she assured him, her voice impossibly gentle.

It frankly made his heart hurt.

So many times now had his thoughts been consumed by the one in front of him, no longer occupied by the one he’d seen on TV so many times. Her flat appearance was nothing compared to the flesh and bone and warmth given to him by the woman holding him now. Her calloused hands, her darkly-circled eyes, the frizz of her hair. Little imperfections that would never be allowed on TV, but made Izanami seem that much more real.

She leaned closer to him, and pressed a kiss to his cheek.

“The fog grows thicker, keijisan. I ought to walk you home,” she murmured, her breath warm against his clammy skin.

“Why not stay the night? It’d be nice to have some company,” he suggested, trying to keep his voice down.

Part of him wondered where Izanami went at night.

The goddess gave him a smile, soft and gentle and full of unspoken emotions that said everything.

“I’ll do just that, if you’re offering,” she said, her voice saccharine and soft.

“Then let’s get going. After all, the fog is getting thicker. We wouldn’t want to get lost,” Adachi reluctantly rose to his feet, helping Izanami up.

She clung to his arm, heedless of his personal space, strolling beside him with her head held high.

And as they walked, she smiled with too much teeth and a wrinkled nose.

yeah these are my plans for the m.inaba arc for gsaslau and FUCK IM SO MAD I WAS WRITING ON THE TUMBLR EDITOR BUT IT FUCKED UP THE FORMATTING AND A WHOLE CHUNK OF TEXT IS GONE sorry this post is gonna be a lot longer than it should be okay ! gsaslau Magatsu Inaba arc. Adachi’s besties with the attendant but Mim decides they’re done with the attendant facade and erases everyone’s memories of the guy. They did a bad job at it though so Adachi’s stuck with the awareness that he has a hole in his life that could’ve been avoided if someone did a better job at cleaning up everything that reminds him of memories he’s going insane over thinking they exist when they DON’T to literally everyone else. He makes a deal with the fog to be god’s prohpet and usher in the New World as its Fool so it gives him the answer to whether or not his memories are real and worth bringing back a guy he thinks is dead. Souji tries to stop him and as much as Adachi’s trying to hide his true intentions under the guise he’s justifying himself as a bad guy this whole time, he kinda snaps under pressure that a bunch of kids are being able to stop him despite the help of a god and a world he can manipulate. Mim’s plan was to wait for his Shadow to take over so his body’s properties would be enough for him to become a vessel to manifest Ame-no-Sagiri. But THAT doesn’t happen so they did plan B: go force the power of Persona and wear it like a costume enough to hide their face to stop further awakening more memories that could throw the whole deal off. Souji recognizes that it isn’t the power of Persona so he demands god to stop using their powers through a human just to hide from something, it’s putting the guy in enough pain already. Mim agrees to leave and Adachi’s Shadow finally takes over anddd and yeah I could make a separate post about my writing I wish I had more time and energy for things

okay this one looks simple it’s likeee a manga that was supposed to be a companion piece to some writing that also didn’t get finished. so. I could share that but they’re non proofread discord messages but I promise the draft is there the context is that they’re in Okina and they try out the gacha machines. Mim’s genuinely having fun but they pull a teru teru bozu which um. remind them they’re supposed to dutiful god. like they look like a teru teru bozu. and that they’re supposed to treat this as an experiment to see humans’ true desires so they just shove it to Adachi who harmlessly relates it to them because it honestly looks stupid annd the whole tension dissipates.

here's also a bit of writing alll the way back in feb. i guess the context would be episode 13 and 14 where nanako leaves her loveline umbrella with the fox except this time she doesnt get wet since she had a pit stop at the gas station yaayy :mimyay:

The little girl left her umbrella by the torii with the fox as a gesture of her kind heart. Then she hugged the plastic bag in her arms and began to run straight home.

The rain was pouring hard! The summer wasn't as kind as her, nor would the crashing showers that would come after days of blazing heat.

Every step she took quickly became squickly and soggy as her shoes and socks were already soaked through. Her pigtails were getting heavy and her bangs almost covered her eyes. Just then, she heard a voice in the rain. But before she could look, she slipped forward.

"Ah!" Nanako gasped as she let go of the bag and braced for impact, but heard another "ah-h!" as she was quickly hoisted up with an arm wrapped around her chest, picking her up and felt another arm underneath support her. Her chin now on broad red shoulders that smelled faintly of car exhaust and gas amidst the rain.

The splashing of shoes on the wet pavement along with the crinkling sounds of a plastic bag was heard. Nanako was more worried of whose perfectly dry clothes she drenched with her sopping wet ones.

"You okay, little kiddo?" a familiar voice asked as she was gently set down on dry concrete away from the rain.

"I'm okay," she said, wiping her bangs and looking straight at the stranger in front of her.

It was Moel's gas station attendant, the one Souji works with. "Ah, you're big bro's big b--" she quickly shook her head, "I-I mean, big bro's senpai."

"Heh," the crouched man laughed weakly, it even seemed like he forced that smirk. "I work here too, y'know? Little customer."

"Oh, I'm sorry. And thank you, mister attendant."

"You're welcome, and don't worry about it. 'S not like I'm too mad about it."

An awkward air accompanied the scents of lingering exhaust from the last car and the petrichor from the rain. Although Nanako didn't feel any of this, just to say. It's always been like this with big bro’s senpai, at least how it's been with just Nanako herself. Like right now.

I... don't know,, can't think of a moment really, although that scene at the end of fury and gingka's little speech may have been a big sign :) what was that gingka :D Also I think like narratively the scene at the end of fusion where gingka catches ryuga while falling has done something to my brain forever, it is so precious and important to me like.... OUURGH my feelings about ryugin is very!!! arti. grhej can't find a better way to describe it, they are a specific idea of ship i have in my brain that i like as someone who is incredibly confused and lowkey scared of romantic relationships and dating in general, that's why to me they are both aroace (jus like me fr,,) and what they have?? complicated but also so simple somehow!! But honestly I think I liked this idea of ryugin pretty early into my rewatch but i was kind of scared voicing it at first because there can be really shitty interpretations of those characters and their dynamic. I also am a fellow ryuga enjoyer who lives in the magical land of delusion and canon rewrite so :')) that helps a lot. But they mean so much omg i love them so fucking much!! What are your favorite things about the ship?

Omg so many things... I love how I think about them with the right song and it hits me right in the feels! I love how similar they are and also vastly different their upbringing (mainly hcs on ryuga's side but yk how it is) and destiny was. Like I'm still absolutely going feral over that post from last year I made about both of our first look of them in the show?? Tbf it's the second scene where we see Gingka but still,, where he's on top of a building seeing the whole sky above him, while when we first see ryuga outside of vague flashbacks or the opening, he's in a sort of coma in a weird coffin surrounded by machine? And the shots of their beys parallel each other?? Like gingka is holding pegasus, probably feeling comfort holding onto his companion and momento of his dad, of his village. Meanwhile Ryuga's hand is lose cause he's asleep but it seems L drago is wide awake and already feeding off of him, one was a bey given to Gingka with a heavy burden of a goal but representing hope and the other was stolen, in order to only bring destruction. I think their relationships to their bey evolving throughout the show is super interesting to compare (but that's also because I hc a lot of things about ryuga that aren't canon because sometimes i want to chew on canon and chug it in the "don't care" bin).

Okay I think I only gave one reason FUCK umm I like the similarities and differences in their designs a lot (scarf/coat, headband/crown, gloves/no gloves, rounder features/sharper). That's mostly to do with Mr Adachi's really cool designs but still I wanted to mention it.

I like the hope in it you know? Ryuga's such a broken person but he's also like,, in my au 14/15yo during fusion and still a kid during the series? And how he almost died at least once (i'm also counting fury because no he didnot i don't care) so young and all this time without any form of genuine care or love. Like I like thinking about him mainly because there's not much that can excuse his actions but it's so interesting too? Like i like explaining the path he takes after fusion. How he's stuck in a downward spiral, hungry for power still because to him power is the only way to feel safe and in control, never being used again. But that ultimately keeps him away from genuine connection still and it also drives him to an almost death and just makes him extra stupid during fury :D idk to me fury ryuga felt so much like character regression, they really saw his masters character and went "yeah but what if..." NYWAY I digrace. I like how they're both just kids and the moment Gingka remembers/realizes it during their final fight in fusion is the thing that saves the world, that for gingka to still be Gingka and to save beyblade, how can he not save this other kid in pain. It is in tune with his character but it's also such a huge accomplishment on his part? He went through so much, his friends, his village, his father got taken away because of Ryuga. It's not all because of Ryuga and Gingka probably knows that but still?? He absolutely hated his guts and for good reason too. But I find it just so!!!! I love the idea that despite it all, there can be love after all of that. However you define it, just compassion and understanding <3 It is so cheesy but maaaaannn what are we without the power of love. I just love ryugin so much, i always try very hard to not make it sound like i'm glossing over all the problems ryuga caused and the emotional and mental toll gingka suffered becaus it's here, but also I love to believe that Gingka is just such a beam of light and he truly empathize with people in general, and something in him will always reach out to Ryuga. And that moment when he stopped him from falling to his death is just so!! To me in my hcs and aus and everything it is just the thing that starts ryuga's growth and character developement, like yeah he's still a stupid guy with a lot of issues but he's going to try. At least in my book (i feel like i'm rambling about things that are so far from canon but whatever i'm vibing my brain is vibrating rn). I just keep thinking about that quote from the good place "the point is people improve when they get external love and support. How can we hold it against them when they don't" and i want to tear up a little.

okay i have a couple more i think that i can think of,, vhfdj this is getting so so long,, oopsie. Um anyway, I like to imagine Ryuga actually helps Gingka too (it's not all one sided i promise but look at this mess of a boy) especially in expressing his feelings and communicating, i feel like gingka would and just by nature still struggles with this but because they understand each other's intentions very well most of the time (and that's canon baby) ryuga helps pointing it out if that makes sense. I also love how they're both intelligent while very dumb at the same time like they maybe aren't beyblade geniuses like Yu but they understand that game so well and so quickly i love that a lot. And I like how they both acknowledge it and respect the other for it.

I like how I imagine them both being vagabonds in their young adult years (*cough* snufkin much *cough*) and valuing their time alone but also sharing adventures together and feeling very comfortable with the other and just vibing :)

It's so funny when i think about it like trying to simplify their dynamic in my head cause it's just: gingka to ryuga is the light, the guy that saved him, the thing that changed everything and he can never fully understands it frustrates him but he can't keep away very long evn though he thought he'd always belong in the dark. oh huh so like when the game was making me run around to try and find evidence about the killer, I actually tried to go into the TV

because I thought the solution would be to talk to Yosuke and go back to Saki's area and look for clues there. Which I thought was VERY clever of me, but whatever, I guess not.

Somehow, Adachi is in the VERY first place, the creepy room with all the slashed posters. Which is now easy to interpret as Yamano's own little TV prison. She hated the singer because her high-profile ruined her life, all because she loved Namatame, an innocent act made into a problem by someone else's fame. Sucks.

There's a lot to go over here so, let's go over the things that were bugging me about Adachi, the How and the Why. One of which is a lot stronger than the other.

The How:

Namatame discovered his power by accident, he was upset and reaching towards the TV to try and reach Yamano, and his hand went through and he he didn't know what the fuck.

Adachi apparently discovered his on accident and then figured out he could toss people in.

He threw Yamano in because he.... anyway. And then he did the same thing with Saki later basically, hurling her into a TV, the same one in the interrogation cell at the station. Later on, Kubo tried to take credit for all the murders and Adachi isolated him and tossed him in too, explicitly because if Namatame heard on the news the killer had been found, he might've stopped "saving" people.

Okay so that explains that.

How about the why.

Well.

Mmhm.

Hmm.

The twist is not as simple as "Adachi is a misogynistic Nice Guy who got powers and got dangerous" but it's not not that?

Lets split this into what I like and what I don't like.

I don't like the sudden sexist turn because it feels really out of left field and like the writers needed a justification for him doing all this shit. So yeah, suddenly he's a sex pest and a creep because that gives him motive to kill Saki and Yamano. But as someone who has been squinting at Adachi for a long time now, that stuff never really surfaced. It's to the point that when he starts calling people bitches, it almost feels out of character. Like, for Adachi, who has been defined by his chronic case of not giving a shit, to suddenly care enough about people to get this angry seems out of character.

Which, fine, I get it, it's a twist, but if you're going to give me 6 SLink scenes with this guy, you could seed this in there. I definitely picked up on Adachi's omnidirectional contempt for people, but the sexism is just Weird. I frankly would have preferred a supernatural MegaTen-ass motive than just Incel Adachi Power Hour.

Now, on the flipside, I do love how much he still doesn't give a single fuck. Yeah, it's fun! All this drama is fun!

When you have no connections to people, when you so aggressively do not give a shit, then people stop feeling like people and become like toys to play with. I love this moment where he tries for 5 seconds to be like "oh but I didn't knoooow" because lying about himself is so second-nature, he forgets that he's talking to people who know better! Yosuke calls him out and he's like "eh okay so what if I knew." THAT'S tasty, THAT has the cronch I desire from a villain. I love a bitch who just lies because it doesn't occur to them not to.

Like I was saying about the parallel between the MC and Adachi-- the P4 MC has few solid traits and essentially will say and do what is needed to facilitate others. That is not inherently a bad thing, and it is part and parcel of the genre and medium, sure. But it does feel deliberate to have the villain of the story being Adachi, who also will say or do whatever is needed without a clear sense of self.

ALSO WORTH NOTING THAT I MISSPOKE BEFORE. I think I referred to Adachi and Reverie as "both the Zeroth card" as in Fool/Jester, BUT! BUT! Reverie is not the Fool, the whole team is the Fool. Reverie is explicitly the wild card. Which is literally the actual function of the joker/jester card in actual play.

Reverie is not a specific Arcana (at least not yet-- FeMC became The World/Universe, same deal might happen here) and neither is Adachi. He's whatever he has to be.

Maybe I have connected the dots. Maybe I haven't connected shit. Who knows!

See and I spent all this time wondering if the whole Point of this, the kidnappings and murders, if it was to blow more holes in the wall between the worlds to blend them together, to make a place where your latent repressed desires literally form the fabric of reality....

but really, Adachi never even planned for that. he don't care.

anyway, I feel a little better that the reason I didn't call Adachi's motive was because it was, like, just not in the story at all until this moment. I can live with that. I still knew it was him early on!

I'm seriously wondering if I should reload my save and go see about "protecting" Adachi. A fascinating option to be certain.

my thoughts on the GMMTV trailer drops: more or less in the order of my interest in them

Queer Love

Only Friends - I'm excited. I love mess and drama and entanglements. I'm into messy friend groups and people hurting each other because they're confused and have too many feelings and fears. The trailer also visually looked really good and professional. The show I'm looking forward to most.

Dangerous Romance: I am intrigued! I did not expect this of myself when starting this BL journey a few months ago, but apparently I am into high school romances. I like the enemies-to-lovers, spoiled rich boy x ambitious poor boy dynamic. I liked the feeling of this couple on screen together, and the style of humor. I'm kind of excited about this one actually. The trailer seemed very high quality - like it's edited from actual footage rather than just shot as promo - which a) makes me hopeful the series will actually come out and b) probably increases the show's appeal for me.

23.5 Degrees - I'm looking forward to this one too! I'm into crushes and pining, and popular one/wallflower romances, and as I said above, apparently also high school romance. I like that they're giving Milk and Love entirely new characters and not just another variation on Ink and Paa. The story seems sweet and simple from the trailer, and its hard for me to tell if it really is that basic or if it's just being presented like that for promo purposes, but either way I'm interested. And yay for more GL!

Hidden Agenda: I've seen people saying it looks derivative of 2gether 2 and some other shows, but I haven't watched any of those so it's not an issue for me. The trailer actually appeals, surprisingly. One character tricking another to seduce him could bother me but he seems so straightforward about his trickery, at least as shown in the trailer, that instead it seems interesting. I like crushes and "practice" kisses and inexperienced characters figuring themselves out. It doesn't seem too slapstick in its humor, which would be my main concern with something like this. And it looks a bit messy and apparently today I am very much in the mood for mess.

Last Twilight: The trailer looked very intriguing. I'm not sure how the story is going to handle a blind charter. It is in general a problem that most of the stories about disabled characters that get told are about the tragedy of them becoming disabled. I don't know how it is in Thailand, but in the USA we have way too many of these. That said, this show still intrigues. I'm not blind and perhaps I would feel differently about it if I was, but seeing characters have to adjust to a difficult major change in their life does make for a compelling story. The trailer looked expensive and well made, which always helps. I confess I don't find Jimmy as appealing as many people seem to -something about his voice and his face I find irrationally irritating. But that actually works well for the asshole character that he's playing here, so I think I would enjoy him in this. I like the asshole-for-asshole dynamic they start off with, and it makes it interesting to see how they will soften and fall in love. So I am looking forward to this one, but with some nervousness about how they'll manage it.

Cherry Magic remake: I am very curious about this one. I liked many things about the original Cherry Magic but was also frustrated by it, so the idea of another version does in general appeal to me. I've never seen Tay or New in anything (as far as I recall) so I have no thoughts on them in particular. I don't necessarily trust GMMTV to fix the things I didn't like, and I'm worried that they'll lean ever more into the slapstick stuff. Basically, what I want out of a new Cherry Magic is something that gets a little darker, a little messier, lets the Kurosawa character be more of a co-protagonist than a love interest, and digs a little deeper into this ideas of virginity and the Adachi character’s feelings around sex and desire. I could see GMMTV getting more into the stuff around sex and desire, but I don't nessarily have faith about the rest. The odd little interpretive dance piece they threw together at the last minute to replace the trailer and the conversation that was only 20% subtitled told me basically nothing. Hopefully they'll resolve their licensing issues soon and we'll get to see the actual trailer. In summary, I will likely watch this out of curiosity to see just how they decided to adapt this. (As with all of these, assuming it ever actually comes out.)

Our Skyy 2: I was so confused by this trailer until @heretherebedork kindly explained it's not actually a series, just a label for GMMTV's collection of "special episodes" of one-off sequels for other shows. I don't think I've seen any of their other special episodes so I don't know if I'd like them. Bad Buddy I'm probably interested in because I love Pran and Pat, and also their story wasn't one that felt like it needed to stay within the container of its series; it doesn't feel like it would take away from the original arc to find out what happens later. I confess I still haven't watched the final episode of The Eclipse (I had all these Feelings and kept putting it off and now it's become this big thing) so I don't even know yet if I want more of Akk and Ayan, but I probably do. I don't think I recognized any of the other couples, except Puen and Talay from Vice Versa, which I dropped at episode two.

Cooking Crush: I'm not sure what I think about this one. I have actually really liked Off and Gun in both things I've seen them in (Theory of Love and Not Me) but for some reason the idea of them in things never excites me. I also tend to be turned off by food themed shows. Part of it is my own current complicated relationship with cooking (and food) and part of it is there are just so fucking many of them and it somehow feels... lazy? derivative? I don't know what exactly. All these aesthetic shots of chopping/or food in a pan or glamorously plating a dish makes it feel like an instagram video. And I'm just feeling very over the metaphor of food as love. That being said, it doesn't necessarily look like Cooking Crush is going that route. The trailer does look very bare bones - like they just filmed the parts they needed to get investors, so I also feel like I really don't know what the show will turn out to be and am keeping an open mind.

A Boss and A Babe: I'm generally not a fan of office romances. Part of it is often when they get into the details of the business itself it annoys and bores me, but if they leave it too generic it makes the whole show feel too ungrounded. (Old Fashion Cupcake walked this line beautifully. Oddly enough Senpai, This Can't Be Love!, despite its many flaws, also did this pretty well.). Part of it is very much a me thing and about my complicated feelings around employment and office work.

And a third part, which crystalized for me while watching this trailer, is that while I do want shows about adults, watching an office filled with 22 year old looking actors, and a boss played by someone who looks like he could convincingly play a high school student in another show, somehow feels even less adult to me than university set and even high school set shows. It feels like a teenager's fantasy of adulthood, like the old CW type show about college students aimed at young teens. Something about that makes me feel even older and more out of touch than just watching university students. (That's another thing that was so wonderful about Old Fashion Cupcake, it was about actual grownups, played by actors who were visibly actual grownups.

All of that aside, while the power dynamics of a boss hitting on their subordinate often would bother me, the boss in this show seems so odd that it somehow doesn't here. Overall the show doesn't particularly appeal to me, but it seems weird enough that the tropes and humor style I normally dislike don't actually turn me off, and it's something I might want to watch when I'm in the mood for a certain type of ridiculousness.

Heterosexual Romance

Speaking of actual grown-ups, I think I will be giving Find Yourself a pass. Part of it is my general extreme pickiness with heterosexual romances, part of it is my recoiling from a woman who is actually slightly younger than I am being depicted as this super old character, and part of it is that the aggressive pursuit by the younger guy, which seems to be a staple of these noona romances, is really a turnoff for me. I am intrigued by older woman/younger man romance pairings as a concept, but this version does not appeal to me at all. I haven't looked into it much, I don't know if there are any existing ones that do. I would love a good one!

The Interest: It's a film, so I have no idea if it will ever be available internationally, but the trailer looked very moody and intriguing. Yet again, apparently I'm in the mood for messy and edgy. It appears it's going to be a het romance? I appreciate a trailer that gives me just enough to pique my curiosity without giving away the whole story.

Beauty Newbie: Love triangle(?) het romance that may also be an examination of lookism, beauty standards, and possibly even misogyny? The concept intrigues and could be wonderful if done the right way and very annoying/frustrating if not. The tone of the trailer did appeal though, so I may try it when it comes out, if I even remember its existence then.

Faceless Love: My same general feelings about office romances (especially with such young casts) and het romances apply, and this doesn't have enough in it that attracts me to overcome that. The leads both seem very appealing and I like their chemistry. I also like the male lead's suits. I wish they didn't give the female lead that generic looking make-over. sigh. My understanding of face-blindness was that it didn't stop people from recognizing facial expressions, but apparently that is true for some types of prosopagnosia. I can't tell how well they'll handle the depiction of a disabled character. Highly unlikely I will watch this, but you never know, I could change my mind when it comes out.

Loneliness Society: A While You Were Sleeping remake! Nostalgia alone is a big draw, but otherwise this trailer didn't actually appeal all that much, at least not enough to overcome my general reservations about het romance.

the one with no English title: Highly unlikely I will watch this. Extreme height differences and very baby faced female leads apparently fall outside of the narrow range of things that appeal to me in het romances these days. The story seems pretty bare bones as depicted in the trailer - a girl with a crush and maybe a love triangle? Even if it wasn't het, I don't know that I'd be that excited about it, but I might check it out anyways, if I even remember that it exists.

Not (Necessarily) Romance

Wednesday Club - The idea intrigues me, the trailer itself somehow didn't. Clearly I'm in the mood for messy friend groups because I’m into the drama of all these college kids creating a club based on feeling like outcasts and then creating these ridiculous unhealthy rules that guarantee drama. That said, the trailer made it seem like it wouldn't necessarily be well written. But it could also just be the way it was summarized and edited for a 3 minute pitch, so I will keep an open mind on this one too. I can't even tell if there will be any queer story lines in it, but either way I'm intrigued enough to check it out when/if it's released.

The Jungle: The trailer doesn't have subtitles yet so I'm confused about what's going on. Some sort of glamorous gang or something? It does not seem to be any sort of romance, queer or het, at least. That said, it looks very glamorous and "edgy" and dramatic and I am cautiously intrigued. As I said, I'm in the mood for mess. Plus Off and Nanon!

Enigma: The trailer did intrigue, even though I'm a bit of a scardy-cat about supernatural horror type stuff recently. I can't tell if it's going to be het romance or if that dude is going to be the bad guy, but the trailer did get me curious about him and this whole world.I may end up watching it.

Midnight Museum: The trader seems very much a promo sort of thing so I'm not drawing any conclusions from its vibe (which honestly feels pretty amateurish). I haven't been that into mystery type stuff recently (is it also kind of horror? supernatural? I'm not sure) but if I am in the mood if/when it actually comes out I might try it.

Double Savage: Mostly I was confused by the trailer. It neither appealed nor turned me off. Really I just have no thoughts on this one at all yet.

namatame: mayumi’s death wasnt his fault, and she’d want him to be happy and continue his dream in being a politician n whatnot

Everytime I think about the valentines day episode I get so giddy like they’re really so in love it’s crazy I can’t believe kurosawa damn near passed out eating the spicy chocolate just because he didn’t want to see adachi upset and adachi breaking out those big puppy eyes when he said ‘you don’t like it’ was sick like how could he stand a chance against that??? and also the simple fact that adachi possible getting one (1) gift while his desk was full of them setting him off makes me cackle I wish there was another valentines ep after they got married like a jealous adachi is such an entertaining thought

Happy Munday! What made you love Kawakami? What are some details of her life that you've added? Would you change her story in canon (and if so, in what ways)?

{ Me: *sees a character struggling with the same character flaw as me (being a doormat and getting taken advantage of)* she deserves good things…

Though if I’m being honest, when I was picking a muse for my new blog, kawakami came to mind when @jesterofinaba mentioned wanting to write a sibling/twin AU for Adachi! I love Star’s character writing and wanted to get back into rps so this just worked out!

Is it weird to say I picked up Kawakami in the way that someone will see a stray cat and think “aww that poor thing” ( although I feel that way toward half of Atlus’s characters lol ) Like, most of Kawakami’s interactions in game are her as a teacher or as a maid, and I wanted to figure out ”hey what would this lady be like with a healthy work life balance? what else would she have to deal with and how would she find happiness?”

So far, having Kawakami build relationships with her ex ( @supportive-editor ) and her sibling are really helpful fleshing her out! I’m working on a Phantom Thief design/character arc that I want to make into a fanfic, and just wanna get used to drawing her more. Just doing simple things like relaxing in sweats or having a snack or buying something she’d like. ( maybe it’s writing out wish fulfillme too/self care idk )

In terms of her canon story, I’d prefer if her second job wasn’t being a maid ( the moe uwu Becky persona is annoying and degrading ). there was a wonderful post i shared a while back that rewrote Kawakami’s confidant that I really vibed with, I’ll see if I can find it!

Did Kazuki put this other Naoto up to the task of nagging her, once again, over her lack of food consumption? Somehow calling Kaz a bold-face tattletale didn't come as a surprise. Chihiro guessed, and now she had her confirmation.

"I am well aware of how Kazuki voiced her personal concerns over my irregular eating habits." How lovely for Chihiro's dear sister to care that much. One day, the favor would need to be returned in kind, but not today. "Having another version of myself express their own apprehension is certainly strange, however I do not wish to put unnecessary anxiety on you since...we are alike in many ways."

Chihiro politely bowed towards the elder detective. "There is no need for any constant concern regarding my appetite." Attempts will be made. Perhaps two or three slices of bread. Something simple to start. "I apologize if this visit has inconvenienced you, and if...she has inconvenienced you as well."

Violet only sweatdropped and mentioned how she hadn’t assumed that kind of comment to come from her. “Kazuki has seemed to be a more reserved and less openly caring so far. Maybe it is the Shirogane trait or the fact that there's... a past between you two like I have with Tsukasa." You could debate if it was a fully good thing or not, but she did tolerate the Shirogane-Adachi and wasn't blaming her for being more socially active and eccentric.

If there was something she'd think was a hindrance it was the minor awkwardness after the confrontation on Tsukasa's backgrounds she had hidden from everyone for a good reason. She had given the other time to not feel too threatened by her company and to process the whole deal on her own. Maybe she would even visit Tsukasa's father once, who knew?

A sigh of relief could be heard from the Fortune after Chihiro's reassuring attempt to say she wouldn't starve herself. "That is good to hear. Also, you didn't inconvenience me too much - I was avoiding my peers in my Kyoto anyway due to their fantastic idea." Nothing beat trying to be peer pressured to get drunk a little before an exam rush, right? It was a joy to be elsewhere and use the classic 'I was visiting my family' excuse.

After a small break she did continue, though. "Keep this between us, though: it is amusing how Kazuki thinks that an interference is needed and that ahe thinks that asking for others' help even in times like this is fine by the basic logic."

Summary: Kurosawa looks for ways to express his love for Adachi in the office, it was difficult to think of something until a fun opportunity presents itself

Since both confessed their feelings, Adachi decided to keep a low profile regarding his romance with Kurosawa, especially at work. "People with office romances are insane," said the dark-haired man. On the contrary, Kurosawa wanted to express his affection at all times. He wouldn't make a scene like kissing him in front of all their colleagues, but occasionally, he would give him a chocolate or one of those drinks Adachi always enjoys, small gestures that melted Adachi's heart.

In Kurosawa's thoughts, he could only think of new ways to show his affection in the office towards his dear boyfriend. He pondered until an opportunity presented itself. They both had to present a sales report, and Kurosawa kindly offered to help him, of course, to spend time with him.

The sound of a keyboard, the click of a computer mouse, and soft breaths—maybe Kurosawa was too observant to notice all these details, but when it came to Adachi, his concentration was entirely on him. The dark-haired man didn't take long to notice that gaze that could burn his cheek with all the love radiating from it.

"Stop doing that."

"Doing what?"

"You know what I'm talking about."

A simple, soft smile escaped Kurosawa's lips, his elbow resting on the desk while his head rested on his hand.

"You're cute when you have that serious expression."

As a loving gesture, Kurosawa gently squeezed Adachi's side, his reaction was totally unexpected—a squeal similar to that of a mouse, and consequently, rosy cheeks. Tense, Adachi slowly turned to look at Kurosawa, who now had a slight surprised expression.

"You have..."

"No, don't say it."

"Oh God, that's so cute!"

He had finally found a way to touch Adachi and show his great affection, gentle touches and affectionate squeezes in different parts of his body, ribs, or hips.

"S-stop it! It's...," like the king of shyness, Adachi was one of those types who couldn't pronounce the word with 'T.'

"What? Tickles?"

A deep blush covered his entire face at Kurosawa's direct words. How was he able to say it so deliberately? The pressure was too much for Adachi, the touches that made him have small spasms, and worse if they were accompanied by teasing.

"That's enough! I-I have to go to the bathroom."

With a suddenness, he gets up and heads to the bathroom, feeling the need to moisten his face to dissipate that intense blush. Kurosawa could only watch his cute dark-haired boy escape like a frightened lamb.

Since that day, Kurosawa gives sudden taps on Adachi's sides or hips whenever he finds an opportunity.

Adachi was barely listening to the lesson Izanami was giving him, if he was being honest.

With her hair tied up and a smile on her sickly-looking face, she was nothing short of stunning. And she clung to him like he has saved her life.

She constantly called him her ‘beloved’, was surprisingly protective over him- she was even the one to suggest staying at his apartment that foggy night so long ago.

And now here they were. She was teaching him how to sew a button back onto an old coat of his and he wasn’t able to focus because of how she looked.

“Are you listening, keijisan?”

Izanami startled him out of his thoughts with a sharp jab to the arm with the needle.

He recoiled in pain, glaring at her weakly. He couldn’t stay mad at her. He used to pride himself on how long he could hold a grudge- but now he couldn’t stay mad for more than a few minutes before he came back to her like a mutt.

“Pay attention. This is important ” Izanami huffed, resuming her lesson- and once again, Adachi found himself distracted by her. How easily she carried herself, the way she spoke with her hands, her hands-

Her fingers were long and slender, graceful with a sewing needle yet rough and calloused from working at the gas station.

She was beautiful, Adachi thought, though beauriful wasn’t half of it. She was certainly pretty, yes, but there were little imperfections that simply added to her beauty. Imperfections that he knew would never be found on Mayumi Yamano. Frizzy hair that she loved having braided, chapped lips from her constantly chewing on them, calloused hands from working the gas station singlehandedly. Tired scarlet eyes that gleamed with life and joy.

She was imperfect and beautiful in a way he wouldn’t have associated with a goddess- yet here was one in front of him, imperfect and beautiful and his.

That was another thing Adachi had had to learn with time. She was as much his as he was hers.

Her loyalties lay with him under bone-white sheets on a Western style bed that sagged under their weight. Her loyalties stood with him as he smoked a cigarette and watched Inaba sleep. Her loyalties sat with him during her smoke break, talking about anything and everything. Her loyalties were with him.

“Keijisan! If you aren’t going to pay attention, I’ll let you figure it out on your own!”

Izanami’s indignant voice broke his thoughts.

“Sorry. I was thinking about you. You're very distracting, you know.”

Izanami smiled, rising up slightly to plant a kiss on his lips.

“Focus, keijisan. Alright? I’ll give you a hundred kisses if you focus.”

With the promise of affection in store, Adachi listened to his beloved’s lesson on re-sewing buttons.
