Monthly Thank You

We received one fantastic story submission this month that I’m so happy to be able to review!

@ladycougar-trombone for their fic Pride about Luna and her extended/adopted/found family showing their pride!

We haven’t had a fic submitted to us in a couple of months, so your submission was doubly exciting to receive - thanks so much for writing and sharing! I really loved seeing all these beautiful characters come together to show such pride about themselves and love for each other! You created this beautiful celebration, and honestly I want to do this in real life one day! Just the fluff fic we all needed in this climate!

Thanks ya’ll for interacting and sharing your headcanons! We had a very steady flow of submissions this month! To everyone: keep an eye on our monthly prompts. My thanks and my apologies go out to anybody whose name I missed! I go on a bit of a tangent here, so I’m putting this under a read more, but I really just want to let all of you know just how much your messages/comments/tags meant to me. In all honestly, they’ve kept me going. You all are amazing, especially those of you who left me multiple comments.

I’m not kidding about you all keeping me writing and keeping my spirits up as much as possible. Perhaps it’s just expecting interaction to grow at the same rate as participation or getting more sensitive over time or whatnot, but it feels like we on this blog used to get SO much more communication from users when I first started writing for the blog. Now it seems like I do at least 10x more posts with absolutely no verbal interaction (something other than a like or tagless reblog) than I do a post that gets even one bit of verbal interaction. If you’ve ever been semi-active on whatever fanfiction writing platform (those diary sites before ff.net that I’ve forgotten the url for, ff.net, wattpad, livejournal, tumblr, ao3, etc.), you know that eventually this frustration and upset over lack of reader interaction, especially reviews, has taken over and mostly killed most all writing platforms as people grow and leave the site for multiple reasons, including burnout. 

No, I don’t write for cookies. I write because I like helping out, know how important it is to feel represented and get to read yourself, and enjoy writing. But anybody who does any art or has ever done any thankless tasks knows that just a little acknowledgement and thanks goes a long way. These past few months have been long and hard on me, both for real life reasons and blog reasons, and at times I wondered how I could keep going. Looking back and finding all of your comments again made all the difference. You never know how much even the smallest act of kindness can make a person feel.

Your thanks, your compliments, your excitement, your joy... They’ve all reminded me why I do this and given me the energy to keep it up thus far. Like, seriously. I cannot gush enough about what you’ve all done to help keep me afloat. Thank you for your positivity and gratitude. Most of all, thanks for reading and enjoying my stuff. <3
