Why You Should Vote for Hakupo

Hello. Good evening, morning, afternoon, brunch, sleepytime whatever time it is for you right now. I am here to sell my little autism creature to you. This is going to be a fairly long post so, just sit tight.

The second round of polls will not be out for a couple of hours. I wanted to reblog the post with this, BUT- I have class at 3 when the polls are released. Plus, gotta get those non Hakupo believers before they vote for anyone else, amirite?

No, I'm not putting a section breaker because even if you don't read it, I want you to see the sheer size of this... It's an essay at this point. Let's get started shall we?

What is a Hakupo?

Hakupo Tsukishiro is a energetic and powerful masculine voicebank for Utau (and amadeusy but we dont talk abt brunnnoooo). He was released all the way back in 2010 and has had many important milestones in his 13 years of distribution. Four compilation albums, 7 voicebanks, 2,500+ fanarts (that i all have), and uses by really awesome people *points to the crowd*. That's all of you guys out there. <3

Hakupo as a character is inspired by moe, thanks Clarice. Like most moe characters, he's a bit air headed and happy go lucky person. His positive attitude is sometimes brought into original songs he's featured in, which just makes me smile- girlbosses love a good pick me up song.

Also he has a stupid little coat and pants. This is all you need to know to vote for Hakupo, but I will continue forward incase you are still on the fence.

Cool Hakupo Facts

He almost has the same exact suggested range as Miku (C3 to E5)... His is actually larger... he goes higher (C3 to G5).

By looking at his official Twitter bot, there's a few extra things we can learn about him. He is very stupid, very impatient, has a horrible sleep schedule, bad at multitasking, and can't stand still (I can elaborate more on these if asked).

I wrote a 43 page Utau cartoon pilot script with Hakupo as the main character. Shameless plug.

What does Bobo mean to me?

I found Hakupo 7 years ago now, sitting in the middle of an Utau melody. I told myself I would just turn off my tablet and listen to the music. Yeah that worked- guess who was next after the screen turned off. BOBO! I needed to see the little creature creating this melody. I turned on the screen, and was not disappointed. Fancy twink in a oversized tailcoat with weird pants. I remember rambling to my mom later about how cool he was, why he was so unique, and why this one specifically caught my attention.

He's been my special interest since then, everyone around me knows Hakupo wheather they like it or not. He's about 80% of everything I draw, 50% of what I talk about, and 100% of my little creature I snuggle up with every night.

Literally.

I have a Hakupo bodypillow. Can't sleep without him.

Anyways, he's helped me find a lot of my best friends *coughcoughmeatcoughrevcough*, never fails to make me happy, and helped everyone around me realize I'm extremely autistic. The least I can do is write an ungodly long propaganda post while drinking my coffee at 9 am.

So the new owl house episode :D (TOH SPOILERS)

LET’S GO LESBIANS!!

- first off, I have no idea why the collector was locked up? We can assume their idea of “games” aren’t very good for people and they are ridiculously powerful, but what even are they? It’s obvious they have fears of being alone and being betrayed... i wonder if the titan was the one who trapped him originally and that’s why being betrayed is a terrifying concept to him and why he’s so obsessed with Belos as his “new friend”

- Wonderful that Dana basically said “yeah Odalia and Kikimora are NOT getting redemptions, GO HAM HATING THEM :DDD”, it’s nice that they acknowledge Odalia's and Alador’s different forms and severities of abuse and even Odalia’s abuse towards Alador.

- Eda having to play during the day of unitity is going to be A SPECTACLE alright (if it does happen at all). and RAINE AND EDA HAVE TO GET MARRIED AT THE END OF THE SHOW SWEAR TO GOD-- if that were to happen they might need to be put in a situation where they have to talk about their breakup and stuff

- i ADORE all the kid’s finale fits SO MUCH!!

LOOK AT THEM, I HAVE TO DRAW FANART, CMON!!

- I got spoiled that lumity were gonna kiss but NOTHING would have prepared me for how utterly soft and beautiful it was gonna be, GOD I LOVE THEM, it’s SUCH a wonderfully written romance about kids who FEEL like 14 year old kids in love. Also i watched the episode like, 20 minutes before i met up with my art tutor who had to sit through me screaming about lesbians for 2 hours :D

- The fact that king can hear the collector wherever they are is probably gonna be a major plot point and i imagine it’s because he lit the tablet or something. Small theory that ties into the Collector!Luz theory: what if the collector is trying to posses king and somehow luz intervenes and she gets possessed instead? Just an idea.

- very off topic but these guy’s appearances cant have this many piercing and cool haircuts and NOT be members of the team drawing themselves.

REMEMBER BACK WHEN WE GOT INVITED TO A MASQUERADE??? And we figured out the masquerade guests are definitely the sacrifice meant to summon their eldritch deity and that the party will probably be the location of the final ritual? ANYWAY WE’RE CRASHING THE PARTY, which means we need costumes.

The party is Alice in Wonderland themed; Sammy hasn’t read the book but got kin-assigned the March Hare by Joey, so naturally i’ve been doing nothing but drawing this loser in a dapper rabbit costume for an entire week

Okey serious question here. How much do you actually believe that Oda ships Frobin? Like do you think he actually have like doodles/sketchs of them in a pairing kind of way? like for the strong world film riding the motorbug? (Personally i would love it to be true but he has stated one piece isn't about romance in that way)

Hey there anon! Thank you so much for your question and I hope I can answer it seriously enough. Also once more sorry for the late response. I felt like a question like that needs some research and that is what I did these last few days.

So... I think I'll start with the tl;dr because that way people can read that and ignore the rest.

So, long answer short: I 100% believe that Oda has one or more sketchbooks with drawings of his characters that are absolutely self-indulgent. I am 98% sure that he has drawn Franky and Robin in a romantic way at least once (and supported the ship). I am 80% sure he still is shipping FRobin.

Little disclaimer: I actually have no idea if any of this is true. I pull everything in my arguments out of my own experiences and knowledge and since I'm not a 46 year old Japanese Mangaka my perspective might be WAY OFF.

So, why do I think that Oda has a secret sketchbook?

Simple answer is that he is an artist. He is drawing a lot and no artist will publish everything. That can have multiple reasons like imposter syndrome or because the artist thinks it’s not good or interesting enough or they just forget. There are even more reasons I forget and every person has their own.

For Oda I can imagine two big reasons as to why he would keep secret sketchbooks.

First: He is a horndog. You can skip this part if you don’t want to read about it, to the second reason.

Anyway, we know thanks to answers in the SBS, the way he likes to draw big-breasted women and how some of his characters are classified as perverts that he can be considered one too.

Let me show you a few of a few lewd SBS questions he likes to answer in a funny way:

Nowadays I’m sure there is a focus on those lewder questions compared to the beginning because that is what 13 year old boys laugh about and we all know that is Oda's main demographic (of course).

I think a very good picture of that is given by Tekking101 in his breakdown video of SBS Volume 100.

So, Oda is a man who likes beautiful women and who draws.

Coming to the conclusion that he will draw his own characters in suggestive poses, naked and even doing adult stuff is not hard.

Obviously he would not show these sketches just around. He would probably keep them in a secret sketchbook that he keeps at a safe location. Maybe his wife and some close friends know about it? Maybe it is his and only his little secret.

I don’t think it would be unlikely to learn about this years into the future, maybe the next generation of Anime Fans will hear about this.

And it would not be the first time that something like this happened.

Not that long ago the daughter of Osamu Tezuka - groundbreaking Mangaka, known for his works of “Astro Boy”, “Kimba the white lion” and many more - found his adult Furry art. Source; Japanese article;

It’s a fact that many Mangaka did indeed start their career with art of the more risque kind and/or as doujinshi artists.

So again, I have no doubt that Oda, a known pervert, has one or more secret sketchbooks with „the p0rnography“ in it. Is there only hot stuff in there? Not necessarily.

The second reason to keep a secret sketchbook would be to collect information in there, that could be considered canon but he is not willing to use it in the Manga. Maybe they are not important enough or will be used later.

What am I imagining here? Anything that could be considered too weird for the normal sketchbook but isn‘t too risque. Funny things that might still not be „appropriate.“

Like a sketch of the male Strawhat ding-dongs with the sizes beside it. All the lewd jokes the fans did about Luffy's stretching qualities? I’m sure Oda thought about them too and drew that in the past if he had the time and it made him laugh enough.

But also maybe there are scenes in there that never made it in the Manga. The Strawhats interacting with each other in their daily lives, ideas for colorspreads and maybe chapter-titles. Oda probably has noted/sketched down a lot of unofficial stuff somewhere.

Another example, even an artist like Oda himself would have needed to exercise drawing two people kissing. Why not use Characters he thinks that might work out together?

Why not Franky and Robin? I would imagine he sketched up a few panels of Franky and Robin having a romantic date, going shopping together in Dressrosa, having a conversation that we never got to see because it was too on the nose.

Which brings us to the second point of me being very sure that Oda had drawn FrankyXRobin at one point.

I’m sure in those sketchbooks there is at least one drawing of them doing anything couple-related together. Again it does not have to be downright nasty but it could be them holding hands, kissing or even just Robin leaning onto Franky while reading, like all those fanarts that exist out there.

It’s not hard to imagine. Even for other Characters I think that is possible

And there might even be proof for that idea. The sketch of the Strong World movie you also mentioned, anon. The one movie that can be considered canon is Strong World. It was basically written/directed by Oda. Shiki the antagonist had an appearance in the Manga.

Can it be read as romantic? Yes. Can it be read as Robin holding onto Franky because there is nothing else to hold onto? Also Yes. But couldn't she just have used her power to keep herself secured on the bike without holding onto Franky? WELL YES. Could Oda never have thought in these circles like I do right now? I hope he did not because I hate it and I don’t wish it upon him.

In the movie Robin is NOT holding onto Franky. Now the really interesting thing - that is neither proof pro nor anti FRobin - is that we can see the sketch provided by Oda as a “between the scenes”.

In the movie Strong World the old trio is collecting information at the Pirate assembly. The next time we see them they use the Batta GT-7000 to slowly approach the destroyed village, which had been ravaged by the animals, and start to look for their friends. No need to hold onto Franky and no need for Brook to lean back. They are looking around.

The sketch is clearly not the same scene as the one we see in the movie.

In conclusion the drawing is indeed a between the scenes drawing. And yes if there exists one, who is to say there aren’t more?

Talking about Animal-Bikes...

Is there any meaning about the fact that in the opening scene (that is part of the talked intro after the opening ‘We Go’ - a huge thanks to antiherofangirl, ccb0nnet, JFL_Estudios and Maems, over at twitter!) Franky and Robin build another grasshopper-based vehicle? Maybe not but I still feel like it’s quite a callback.

Where did the idea to put this in the beginning come from? a) an editor had the idea inspired by Strong World; b) maybe it’s another sketch that Oda provided.

Neither seems very far-fetched in my opinion.

So yes, I am very sure that Oda has drawn things that we would consider FRobin.

Now to the last point (the first being Oda having a secret sketchbook, the second me arguing that Oda might have drawn FRobin).

As I said in the beginning I’m very sure that at one point Oda did and kinda that he still does ship Franky and Robin. Because even though every Interaction of two characters can be depicted as romantic or platonic, Oda used ROMANTIC TROPES with Franky and Robin.

They have never kissed on screen but we had

finishing each other's sentences

coordinated clothes

one using the others lap as pillow

hand on cheek caressing

and we can’t forget that Robin had answered Franky's invitation to ride on another animal-themed bike with a heart.

Edit: I didn‘t say anything about „no romance in OP“ so ask again if you want me to talk a bit about that. Sorry!

Those are things an author of Oda's level would not write or draw without being aware about how teasing this is. He has to be aware that every single line he draws will be analyzed to the end of the universe and back. People earn money by saying their opinion and interpretations about the Manga on Youtube.

These interactions are not something outlandish like “There was once an Anime Scene in which Robin was wearing something blue and exactly 28 episodes later Franky was wearing something violet and then 39 episodes later they both stood beside each other for exactly 69 seconds.”

Whenever I think about these facts, things that are not about interpreting but are factual, black ink on white paper but also about the little things, about how Frank and Robin help each other to become better, how they support each other… I want to say YES! ODA IS 100% on board! While in reality I’m 80% sure and 20% of me is wondering if I’m not actually analyzing too much into it. If maybe he really is abandoning ship. Maybe I will become the person who will curse his name and throw my Mangas and fanfictions in an active volcano?

I don’t know and it’s impossible to say what is going to happen.

And with that I've concluded this answer, and it only took me around 2k words and four days.

IM MAKING A GRAVITY FALLS AU!!!

This AU is called Favity Galls. Something me and my cousin thought of a while back.

About: A Gravity Falls AU where everything is the same except everything is a bit...off. Some things are either switched up or exaggerated. It’s like a discount Gravity Falls.

Story: Maber and Dippel Oaks live with their Grunkle Fork in Favity Galls. They go on many adventures, exploring the weirdness of the town, and trying to find the author of the mysterious tapes. There are four tapes. Grunkle Fork runs the Unknown House, or House of the Unknown where Rendy and Sus work. Dippel wants to discover the mysteries of the town, especially the biggest one of all- Cill Bipher.

Characters-

Maber Oaks-

Looks like Mabel, except her hair is lighter brown, and she wears a red bow as opposed to a headband. She has a red sweater with a big blue Star at the bottom, with two yellow “shooting” lines shooting from the top of the blue Star.She also wears white shorts and brown shoes.

Her personality is way different however. Maber is incredulously stupid. She always causes mischief and is very ignorant to many things. She is always happy, and doesn’t really have a negative outlook on anything.

Dippel Oaks-

Looks like Dipper, except his hair is a light brown like Maber’s, and his hat is black and white with an Oak Tree, instead of blue and white with a Pine Tree. He wears a bright red shirt with a deep blue sweater over it. He wears light grey shorts with black shoes.

His personality is only a little like Dipper. He is still shy and a curious bookworm, however, he is a lot more paranoid, and gets freaked out more easily.

Fork Oaks-

Fork Oaks is the Favity Galls version of Ford Pines. Whereas the twins originally stay with Stan, in this AU, they reside with Ford, or Fork.

Fork is like Ford except his hair is a bit messier, and he wears round glasses. He wears a brown button-up jacket over a white shirt with a red bow tie. His pants match his jacket.

Fork is still very much a nerd. Except he is a lot more awkward and a bit of a con. He is not trusted by a lot of people and isn’t very reliable.

Tans Oaks

Tans (or Stines,I’m still debating) is the Favity Galls version or Stan Pines. In this AU, HE’S the author of the journal, or in this case, tapes. He’s also the one who gets lost in the multiverse for 30+ years.

Tans acts much like the original Ford, if not a bit grumpier.

Rendy Corndo

Rendy Corndo is the Favity Galls version of Wendy. She has long, auburn hair, and wears a blue flannel with black jeans. She also bears a raccoon cap. Her father is a coal miner.

Rendy is very chill. Like, a little too chill. To the point where it’s comical. A little ignorant,too.

Sus Ramurazz

Sus Ramurazz is the Favity Galls version of Soos. Unlike Soos, he is the voice of reason and integrity. He is very smart and aware, not to mention a bit of a “bummer” at times.

He wears a black fedora, a gray shirt, and black pants. He also has glasses.

Pacific Ocean-

Pacific Ocean is the Favity Gall’s version of Pacifica. She has orange hair, and wears a black dress. She also has a light brown scarf made of wolf fur around her neck, and wears white heels.

Pacific is still a spoiled brat (at first), except in this AU, she is the one who orders her parents around.

Gadeon Depressing-

Gadeon Depressing is the Favity Galls version of Gideon. He is very quiet, and mysterious. He often looks upset or sad, but he is merely vengeful and bloodthirsty in silence.

Despite his demeanor, he has a rather flashy outfit. Least, compared to his mood it is. He wears a cyan shirt, with a black sweater and pants. Instead of white hair that goes up, he has black hair slicked down.

Ronnie Valentina-

Ronnie Valentina is the Favity Galls version of Robbie. Ronnie is a nerd and very misunderstood. He wears glasses, has curly dark brown hair, and wears a black jacket with a broken orange heart on it, along with blue jeans.

Young Man McSugget

Young Man McSugget is the Favity Galls version of Old Man McGucket. Whereas McGucket erased his memory and lost his mind, McSugget accidentally used a device on himself which caused him to age in reverse. He is a very young, yet thinks and acts like an old man.

He wears a white shirt with poorly done overalls over it, and a too-large cowboy hat.

Sweetie and Growlna-

Sweetie and Growlna are the Favity Galls version of Candy and Grenada.

Sweetie wears a blue-stripped shirt and a white skirt. She has blonde hair, and does not wear glasses. She is very kind, and forgiving of others.

Growlna is very strong. Her voice is even manlier than before, and she has thick black hair. She wears a thick brown wool coat, and grey pants, along with winter boots-no matter the weather.

Shuffles-

Shuffles is the Favity Galls version of Waddles.

Instead of a pink pig, Shuffles is a brown hog, and he speaks in a thick, Russian accent. Yea, he talks.

Cill Bipher-

Cill Bipher is the Favity Galls version of Bill Cipher. He is still an equilateral demonic triangle, except now the triangle is upside down from what it was, and he’s orange. He still bears a black hat, but it is wider than it is long. Instead of a giant eye, he has a mouth in the middle of his face, only a mouth. His bow is black and yellow-two parts are black, two are yellow. His bow is like the bow you would see when tying your shoe, by the way. Instead of a can, he has a multi-colored fan.

Cill Bipher is neither evil nor good. He is technically blind, and yet knows everything going on around him. He is all powerful, and yet would rather be doing other reckless things. He is more playful and idiotic, yet despite his antics, could still kill everyone. He also has mood swings.

Where did I come up with the idea?

While, one day my cousin and I decided to create a Gravity Falls comic. It was an alternate ending to the show, made out of fun. We attempted to draw the characters like the canon style, and it went decently. Until one panel. I had to draw Wendy, Soos, Robbie, Stan, and Ford in one panel, and since I wasn’t used to drawing them, they looked hilariously off. My cousin joked that they looked like someone got them from the bargain bin at Walmart. We joked around, giving them “bootleg names”, which at first were very silly. Instead of Soos,Wendy, Robbie, Stan, and Ford-it was Chipmunk Dude, Gacha Queen, Sausage Boi, Retarded Richard, and Toaster Face Timmy (that ones my favorite XD).

A few days later during a car ride as we were joking around, we decided to make it an actual AU. We would make a “discount” Gravity Falls, where everything would either be off, or horribly exaggerated. We had the characters down soon, but at first we struggled with the name. At first it was Discount Falls, then we were going to put “Gravity Falls” spelled backwards, but that didn’t make sense. Then, I jokingly threw in-“Why not Favity Galls?” because I switched the first two letters of each word, and took out the “r”. We laughed...but it was the best name we could think of. And then, Favity Galls was born.

If you have anything to add to this AU, please tell me, and I shall update it here. This page is finished as of now, but will be update regularly. You are free to use this AU in fanfictions, Fanart,etc. A visual representation of the characters along with a full bio will come soon as I can make them.

In addendum to the thing I just posted from Mark:

The place where I differ from him is, well obviously, I’m nowhere near as big of a figure as he is. That, and one other huge thing. I used to only really care about pleasing others. I was an insecure new face on tumblr, and I was just figuring out my asexuality and was wondering if I was bigender or not. Eventually, of course, I settled comfortably on ‘no’ and stuck with He/Him pronouns, but chose to identify as Agender with masculine pronouns since plain ‘male’ didn’t suit me, but ‘female’ didn’t at all. Back then, I was worried that coming onto this site would be a huge mistake. I’d heard horror stories of Tumblr, and was hesitant to join. But, I’m glad I did, because I eventually met my best friend aside from Alfred, and would go on to start making The Harvester, a project that has brought me so much joy.

But let me give you a tale of caution. Back then, I was unhealthily focused on trying to make other people happy, regardless of what it did to me. It landed me in some unhealthy situations and ‘friendships’ that did more damage than good. I wound up in one particularly toxic ‘friendship’ where I did nothing but showered the other person in art and writing to please them; because if they were happy, I was happy. Eventually, though, I couldn’t give them all my attention. The art flow slowed, but I did try to keep contact every few days as much as I could. And then that friend vanished without a word, for a few months solid. People asked me where they’d gone, and I couldn’t give them an answer. I kept this person on skype, just in case. They never messaged me. Then, when they suddenly returned, I was so relieved. I messaged them on tumblr, and received no response. Sent asks. Nothing. I even drew this person a G/T picture for their birthday.

Nothing.

So I stopped trying. It was clear they were angry at me, but I had no idea why. I hesitantly unfollowed them, eventually, and they did the same within a few hours. I didn’t hear from them for almost half a year, until one day, they popped out of nowhere to message me. I thought perhaps they’d forgiven me for whatever it was I did to anger them. So I tried to pick up where we left off. I was given the cold shoulder. I asked if we could talk about what had happened, and I was given a rain check. The next day...

I received a letter.

This user, whom many of you have probably figured out if you’ve been around since the start or you know me well enough, shall remain unnamed. I have posted about them before, since this whole debacle, asking people not to ask me about them. I tried to be civil in that post, as it wasn’t my place to say anything about what happened between us.

But I feel like you should know what this letter did.

And if you’re reading this, and I know you know who you are, no. I don’t need your apology. I don’t want it. I never want to speak to you again.

This letter destroyed me for a while. It ripped into every insecurity I have, this person tore down everything I care about, everything that makes me happy, just shy of actually insulting my new friend I’d just started making. They tore apart The Harvester, Hema, my writing, told me that they only pretended to be interested in what we would talk about for hours on end, and they told me that I was exhausting. That being friends with me was exhausting. That our friendship ‘never meant anything to me’ like it did to them. Saying that I never cared to see what happened to them when they vanished for a few months, when I worried nearly every day if they were okay. And that’s just the damn tip of the iceberg.

And so, feeling like all this was my fault, I apologized, and we went our separate ways. And as much as that letter ate away at me, I kept it to myself. I didn’t want anyone to worry. I didn’t want anyone to go after this person. It was my fault, after all.

Or so I thought. Because months later, mere days before this person deactivated their account here on tumblr, they came back to me. They tried to spin this whole spiel about how they behaved the way they did because I was their first platonic crush. Now, I believe they did have a platonic crush on me, but that’s not the damn point. If that’s how they treat someone they have any sort of crush on, then I pity the next person they want to have a relationship with. Because when I got slightly bitter that they came back to me after laying that letter on me, just to try and excuse their behavior by saying ‘lol sorry it was the crush making me crazy’, they turned and said that ‘I didn’t mean most of what I said in that letter. I just said that stuff because I was mad and wanted to hurt you.’

Well congrats.

You did.

I hope that makes you happy. You fucked up what little trust I had been working SO HARD to build back up after years of having it abused. You fucked up my faith in my friends, you made me doubt that ANYONE likes talking to me, and you made me think that not only was my writing shitty, my gemsona/OC was shitty, and that I was a horrid, exhausting waste of space... Was this your intention? Did that near year of pampering you with art and thinking about you EVERY day just not do it for you? Was that not enough to satisfy that platonic crush of yours? Did you want me to give you every fucking moment of my life, and abandon my other friends to please you? Is that why I could never make you happy?

You broke something inside me. And I’m still trying to fix it, to this very day. I have depressive spells every time I think of you, I get sent into a downward spiral of ‘nobody actually likes me, it’s all just an act and my writing and friendships are all empty and shallow.’ I got nothing positive out of our ‘friendship.’ All I came out of it with was a newfound lack of trust towards anyone, and a bitter taste in my mouth. That, and now I struggle almost every week with any sort of confidence in my writing, especially when it comes to The Harvester; something that you said just made you SO angry to see me talk about that you had to keep blocking everything about it until you just unfollowed me entirely. You were never happy for me. You were never even a shred supportive. I tried to share something similar with you. We could have had a whole thing going with the Pokemon fic we tried to start. But, again, you were never interested in that. You said so yourself.

But even with all this negativity. All this bad taste left in my mouth.

I’ve tried to be respectful. I know about your other account you made, and happened to delete recently. I never called you out because I wasn’t going to stoop to that level. And, guess what, I’m still not going to. I know where you went, and what your new persona and everything was. But I’m not going to go revealing it to the world. I’m not as much of a vindictive monster as you seem to have made me out to be. I just want to sit in my corner with my friends and write and draw things that make me and my friends and the people who follow me, happy. You probably won’t see this unless you check in on my blog now and then, but if you do, I’ll say it again. I don’t want to speak to you. You need to take this all into account as you move forward with other friendships. I don’t wish you any ill will. I still hope that you find happiness in life, and that you can figure things out. Just so long as I’m not part of that picture. I can’t be. If you’re reading this, you know who you are. If you’re reading this and you’ve been around since my first year here on tumblr, you know who I’m talking about. And now you know a bit more about what happened, and why any art I made for them is gone from my account. Don’t go hunting this person down, and if you ever come across them or you’re in contact with them, do not go white-knighting. That’s not what I’m asking for.

This was merely a cautionary tale of what aiming to do nothing but please someone else [other people] can lead do. They get complacent, they get spoiled, they start to act entitled.

And that brings me to the positive side of this.

Since that whole incident... I’ve moved forward with my life. I’ve become closer with my friends like Alfred or Corrie, Corrie and I have REALLY hacked away at The Harvester and made it into something that, personally, we think is amazing, and only continues to get better as we improve our writing and storytelling. Our art has made such strides since working on this project, and between projects with Alfred and then TH, I’ve been able to see not only my own work improve in leaps and bounds, but I’ve been able to see my friends grow alongside me. And that’s incredible.

And... that sort of brings me to what I meant to talk about here in the first place. My sentiments line up with Mark in a big way in that... Corrie and I, by a stroke of fate, have created something that not only has brought us so much joy in life, but it has the power to move other people too. You guys have created fanart and videos, you’ve cosplayed, you send us dozens of messages each month, and some of you have even said that this story gives you something to look forward to each week. And that’s... incredible. It’s all incredible. We are both blessed with the ability to bring happiness to other people’s lives with something that we both ADORE working on and putting energy into. We love The Harvester SO much, and to see anyone share even a fraction of that passion... is so inspiring. We talk on a weekly basis about how, if people stick around with TH and keep being inspired by it enough to create things, that we’re going to get to see you guys grow. As people, as artists, as writers. And that’s incredible. We’re in this position where... something we made for fun, just to pass the time, turned into something that has inspired people. It turned into what we never could have expected. Something that others enjoy; they genuinely and whole-heartedly enjoy it. These people have no stake in getting free art from me or attention, not in the same way that others who have used me in the past do. They’re here for the story, the characters, the art we happen to post alongside TH. There are people in our community whose passion rivals that of our own. It’s... surreal. In the best way.

We understand that we can be a bit intimidating. But, we just want you to know that the excitement you feel when you see that we’ve updated, or that we’ve responded to your ask or commented on your fanart or followed your fan-side-blogs... that’s the same excitement WE feel when we SEE your fanart, your dedicated side-blogs, your posts in the Freckledot’s Archives tag or The Harvester tag. We get this rush of “!!! Look! They made a thing! They made a thing because we made a thing! They’re creating too, look at it!!!” And, sometimes it’s hard, as a fan of something, to convince yourself that you’re not an embarrassment or a burden. Believe me, we’ve BOTH been in that position. But know that we’re just as excited to see you guys grow and stuff as you are to see TH grow.

The mere fact that Corrie and I have this... thing that we’ve made. The fact that it even came into existence... baffles us. It was a stroke of pure fate. And that’s something you need to remember, yourself. Every creator wants their own TH. They want their own passion project that they can share with people and get excited over. And, sometimes, that feels like that’ll never happen. I know I felt like that for most of my life. I had my stories I could share with Alf and that we could write together... but at the time, those were just the buds of a writing hobby. I love them to DEATH and I wouldn’t trade them for anything, but back then, we had no plans to really share them. We wanted to make one of our stories into a movie, but had to set it aside for highschool homework. And then as things went along, I felt like I’d never have “the one” to share with everyone. The first big project to pour my heart into, either with someone or not, and then hesitantly put out into the world to be judged by others. But it happened. It’s happening right now, and I relish every moment of it. We both do.

So. Thank you. Genuinely, and sincerely, thank you. To those who have been following TH from the start, to those that’ve joined us along the way. To those who have stumbled across it and marathon’d it from start to current day. To those who send messages or theories or make art or 3d models or who leave thoughtful messages on the story or on art they reblog. To those who maybe even haven’t kept up, but they still like the story regardless. To those in the future who will join in this little community we have, surrounding a simple SU fanfiction that grew into so much more...

You inspire us to continue moving forward, and you give us hope that maybe the things we create are worth more than we often doubt they are. You inspire us as much as we inspire you, and that’s the truth. You haven’t turned this into something that we just do to please you, and that means more to us than we can express. You’re all so great and we can’t wait to see where you all are at at the end of TH, whenever that may be, years down the road. We may not be able to give every person the attention they want or deserve, especially as things continue to grow... but know that we do see things, and you’re not just posting to the void, only to be judged. We wouldn’t have a dedicated fan tag if that were the case. <3

But, I have rambled on long enough. If you took the time to read this... bloody hell, good on you. You get a cookie and a hearty nudge in the shoulder from me.
