#ive talked a lot about helmets lately oops #i guess i just rly have an obsession with how they're an extension of the driver #and a representation of them and their only sense of personality and individuality when theyre all geared up #so theres something to me about the separation of helmet from driver like in these pics #of course theres pics of the helmet on its own for model kinda pics(like all the pics i used for my past project posts) #but this is its own genre. helmet doing its own thing. helmet away from the vicinity of its owner #helmet being protected from the elements. it has its own carrying bag. it gets an umbrella. etc etc #the first pic made me on the lookout for pics w a similar vibe. something I've been thinking about lately. i do think it's incredibly telling that almost 80 percent of the conversations around 'gatekeeping' and 'posers' and shit end up just becoming vitriolic hatred of 'alt girls' like i hate shit spotify playlists and dollskill fake leather edge and tiktok recommendations as much as the next person but this is a very big attitude coming from a website full of people who spent their formative middle school years shopping at hot topic for multi-colored skinny jeans while listening to like. falling in reverse or 21p unironically (this is a self-own btw). first of all teenagers having shit taste isn't killing punk music. but also why is the object of your hatred always boil down to a woman faking it? as if it isn't the single oldest stereotype in heavy music? like am i insane for thinking this is an issue

i can't explain exactly why these ones stick out, but i've always been fond of them. i was really happy with the way i was able to use that static pose in the first picture, and it felt strangely organic, like it really was in the middle of an action scene. if i were to retake it today i'd probably add some more contrasting light so it's not so warm toned throughout, but overall i still really love this one. the second one is just pleasing to me, something about the framing i really enjoy, even if there isn't anything particularly special about it.

i am Not Good with shippy shots, especially spicy ones, so it feels extra nice when i take one i like. i'm really happy with the sense of movement in the first one and the fact that its framed as a peak behind the curtain. the second one is simple, and i can't really explain why but there's something so soft about it that makes me really love it. i love the cool colors juxtaposed against the flare of red coming from dum dum's eyes that light dagger up. no chaos, no mayhem, just two dumb boys in love.

i wasn't going to include this first shot because i feel a little bad about taking it, but i'm also really happy with how it looks, and specifically how imposing dagger is in it, reigning over his kingdom. and of course, honorable mention goes to this ps4 shot i took a long time ago. i'm STILL proud of this. i even tried recreating it on pc and found i couldn't quite recapture the magic here. the intimacy of it, the sort of rabid amusement in dagger's eyes, and the way the dark lighting/graphics makes his makeup look heavier and greasier. it just works so well and i'm proud i was able to pull this out of my ps4. (no saul's were harmed during the taking of these pictures)

one thing i find interesting is that ever since i was little i enjoyed feminity in a way that wasn't sexual. i have always been into fashion i guess maybe that plays a part.

but obviously since coming out as a lesbian to my family, my mom has read all these interests of mine with a sexual undertone to them. so my innocuos magical girls posters are porn, my kpop girl groups albums are porn etc etc which should be insulting as a concept but i just find it so funny cause, even during my teens where i was very clueless about my sexuality, these interests were never about something sexual to me...
