So Elzer and Adelinde in an attempt to cheer him up they send him away on a business trip so maybe he goes from region to region and eventually ends up in Fontaine. As he’s in Fontaine he comes across that damn novel. But he’s still saddened by the loss of his once husband. So he buys the book and reads it maybe at a cafe.

However as he reads he notices the story is different and oddly enough is actually the story is the one he had lived through. With all the changes he had made. Confused he starts asking around about the story. Since I think Navia and Diluc would be great friends he falls into a conversation about the story with her. Finding out that a certain Duke had commissioned the story as a play off of the original. With Wriothesley somehow he finds out about this suspicious red haired man asking about the story. So somehow they meet but don’t exactly recognize each other but stay in contact cause like “this person feels familiar” UGHHH

Then they have to fall in love with each other all over again because I said so but also because they aren’t the same person as when they’d met. However they do still fall in love.
