and oh oh open wide, cause this is your night, so smile, cause you'll go out in style.
[ID: Two black and white digital collages of lyrics from "Fences" by Paramore. The first shows a picket fence against a white background, with text arranged on and around it reading: "and it's / obvious that / you're / dying / dying". The "dying" parts are written much larger, distorted, and arranged on and under the fence. The second shows a camera with text reading "just living proof that the camera's / lying". "Lying" is written in all caps with each letter in a different font, and arranged to look like it is coming out of the camera lens. /end ID.]

The only thing that felt conspicuously missing about The Giggle was that NPH didn't actually sing beyond giggling in arpeggio.
Like, the man can sing pretty fucking well. It would've great to hear him not just lipsync but actually sing along to Spice Girls.

Scientist in a white lab coat (sliding a photograph of Colin Morgan across the table): So, Colin. Would you describe him as attractive?
Me: Yes.
Scientist: "Hot", even?
Me (chuckles): Yeah.
Scientist: Right. (takes photograph back, replaces it with a photo of Benedict Cumberbatch)
And this man. Hot, or not hot?
Me (decisively): Not hot.
Scientist: Interesting. (scribbles some notes into her little notebook).
And tell me (slides both photographs across the table, laying them side by side) do you notice any resemblance between these two pictures?
Me:
Me: Why are you doing this

Kind of on the topic of my last reblog, I feel like this is gonna make me sound like a nerd or a hipster but I cannot listen to other radio stations ever again after listening to college radio. The local college radio station in my city has played a ton of songs that when I look them up are from artists I have never heard of in my life and only have like. A couple thousand streams on platforms like Spotify. It's exposed me to songs that I can't even fucking find on streaming let alone barely on sites like Youtube because they are that obscure. I've been spoiled I can never listen to mainstream radio again

Say what you will about the Cyrano movie (and one day I'll be able to in a halfway articulate manner), but I am still mildly obsessed with "Every Letter", and I think about this ending couplet all the time...
Your letters are drawings on me from above
I know who you are and I know you are loved
Just... the idea of Cyrano and Christian receiving a letter in return from Roxanne and feeling their breath catch both with ecstasy and with bitter regret.
I know who you are...
But she can't. But she mustn't. But it would break her heart--she would never trust them again. But it wouldn't be fair to Christian. But Cyrano could never show his face again. But they already feel themselves burn under her gaze, and to meet it honestly without the armor of a soldier, of these letters, would scorch them until nothing remains. But the only true honor is to hide, even if they know it's really the coward's way out. But the only safety (if they were being brutally honest with themselves) is to hide.
... and I know you are loved.
But God, they wish they didn't have to.

"Narvin, by picking up the sextant you risked your life. Your only life."
"Of course, and I'd do it all over again. Leela, I- I-"
"I know. I also know you want to ask me a question, and you know my answer - I cannot."
"I think I've known all along."
"If it was not this way, I would come with you. But Romana only lives while I serve. While we are apart... you are no longer alone, Narvin. "
"No. No, I'm not. None of us are. "
