something thats been driving me crazy is the constant worry that i am somehow using harmful stereotypes for the characters i write

like i am unfortunately white tm and me also being autistic and queer does not erase that obviously, im always trying to educate myself as best as i can, yet i feel like im always doing something wrong

its less of a problem when im working with the normal forms of hylia and demise since they are not really human, and though their humanoid disguises technically are still not human they do represent what they might have looked like if they grew up as one; i didnt want to make demises form too dark since i felt like it would perpetuate that stereotype of dark skin = evil which is already not great about ganondorfs character design, but didnt want to make him too light since i felt it would erase that part of his connection to ganondorf altogether and make it all the worse, but then again my demise isnt actually that evil, hes good at heart, so making him too light then would be even worse bc it would imply that light = good thing again

for hylia im even more anxious about it bc i intentionally gave her very dark skin to kinda subvert that light = good thing with zelda (tho in my AU the gods are not good and hylia isnt actually as loyal to them as it may seem bc she knows that.. which i feel complicates things just further; and also light an dark is just a very good contrast aesthetically?) but then i also like to intentionally make characters rather ?gender? but then i worry her being somewhat masculine would also be sth harmful bc i know black women are often treated as inherently less feminine .. which isnt my intention at all (tho my hylia .. doesnt rly have a gender? idk many characters i like to write/design dont have anything specific, like what more do you need than knwoing the right pronouns to call them?? qnq) her being rather cold and ruthless also feels like im doing something bad somehow

then theres the whole sexualization worry, i dont know if im doing that in a bad way bc honestly i just like .. drawing ...bodies? aesthetically? like yes they are very sexy but also wheres the line, am i somehow overstepping it without knowing?? how can i recognize what is normal 'finding certain things pretty or sexy' and what isnt??

so far i dont remeber anyone pointing anythign out as bad which im taking as a sign that i cant be doing that badly .. hopefully, maybe all this is a very stupid thing to worry about and its obvious to everyone else but i am so god damn afraid of doing something even slightly questionable and being hunted down for it (probably bc similar happened to me when i was a teen and it was about an absolut non issue, literally, so even the thought of doing something actually bad is mind boggling to me bc that other thing nearly cost me my life and i literally dont know how i survived and i would 100% not if it happened again..)

overall fgo is alright but some parts of it is straight up incredible HOWEVER all of it is seriously held back by being a gacha mobile game and has to work around that limitation

WITCH ON THE HOLY NIGHT

now this is peak. the most gorgeous tm work by far i have to say its simply an incredible read all around. even tsukire did not look or work or sound as good as mahoyo did even tho it came out almost ten(?) years after

on the story front i loved it too with a special shoutout to soujuuro being one of my favorite characters in TM (i say this often not my fault type moon keeps releasing bangers)

however mahoyo has two issues for me:

the story is clearly incomplete: i dont mean its just nonsense or whatever but when nasu said its the first of a trilogy you can just feel that in the story with alot of things being left in the air. this wouldnt be an issue really if mahoyo 2 wasnt basically dead....

i didnt vibe with the slice of life scenes as much as i usually do in nasu works: this isnt a flaw in the story more so i just didnt like em idk how else to word that

mahoyo is a great read however and i highly highly recommend you read it or else

all of the characters are simply chefs kiss. while the visual novel is incredibly dated and the art is even worse you have to understand this is nasu and takeuchis first ever visual novel made on a barely existing budget.

the vn is split into two with a near side and far side.

while the near side is really good with arcueid and ciels route (ignore how ciel was actually really fucked over even in her own route its laughable and my girl deserved better) the far side is so much more better and really is where the soul of tsukihime and shiki the main character lies

i cba to review it properly besides saying PLEASE READ IT RN or ill cry and you dont wanna see that do you....

FSN is simply tms best work all around. while i prefer tsuki over it and find the tsuki side of TM more interesting FSN overall is much stronger on most fronts but especially its main characters

im not a fan of remaking classics on the level of tsuki. with all its flaws i still find the original to be good enough to not need a remake...

this is how you do it folks. the story was elevated on nearly every level and if it was the complete story id say its the best ever in existence ever forever fr. its just that good.

there are three things i really want to point out:

while maybe goin overboard i really liked the buffs all the characters received and in general the whole worldbuilding is so much better now with idea bloods and principles and vampire hierarchies and arcueid inflation scenes (heh) its just epic

ciel got a so much better route that actually feels like a ciel route and not just arcueid route 2 electric bugaloo (and getting fucking cucked)

noel is peak

this is peak type moon and when red garden comes out it will be even BETTER especially with satsuki route because satsuki deserves it

there are some other short stories i havent mentioned like garden of avalon, notes, MAGNITUNING (look it up you wont regret it) its all great and worth the time of reading

eventually i wanna play CCC and read some other stuff like maybe prillya DDD, fgo jp like lb7 traum and whatnot

woag i gotta look this shit up. ok hikari and aoi are out since they use a different magic system (and hikari's a dumbass anyway)

lia - prestidigitation. she has a complicated relationship with it bc the whole thing that got her into magic was someone showing her prestidigitation as a child. but she idolised it so much that she never actually managed to work out how to cast it. and now its a bit of a mental block. but she still has that like. childlike wonder at it, even if she pretends not to. as for regular spell... probably her customized advanced version of plane shift that takes her to a different universe entirely. she likes a lot of magic but thats the one that keeps her from getting bored forever.

nest - shocking grasp. she likes to lightning punch people. as for proper spells, probably fire shield? she gets to burn people who punch her. i think nest would cheat in fistfights.

violet - mage hand. a third hand for sorting?? unstoppable. as for proper spells, i cant not pick time stop for a clockwork girlie. she would probably not put it to good use but she would love it.

valyrie - paladins dont get cantrips. she would think druidcraft is pretty tho. as for her own spells, can she pick one of her channel divinity options? not really a spell, but the ability to strike the fear of god into the hearts of her enemies and reduce their speed to 0 while she approaches to kill them is too good to pass up. thats her favourite.

dr. marion - i think her favourite cantrip is also prestidigitation, just bc of how versatile it is. she uses the cleaning version medically and had to add it into her improvised healing spells to sanitize wounds before sealing them. as for her favourite spell, cure wounds. the first healing spell she managed to replicate with arcane magic. shes proud of it! even if the prototype version killed a guy on accident. (not her fault!)

cassidy - rangers also dont get cantrips. she would also like druidcraft tho, bc its the kinda shit her wife did before she died. as for regular spells, idk. i think she'd like commune with nature just bc like. its peaceful. she wouldnt even necessarily be looking for anything. just hanging out with plants and shit is good. peaceful. she can bask in her own melancholy.

adela - power word kill.

elyria - favourite cantrip is Friends. shes a manipulative little shit so she'd use it to give her the edge if she needs to talk her way through something real quick. oh and she would LOVE shadow blade. a weapon that doesnt leave evidence and gives you advantage in the dark? AND does a lot of damage? she'd use that shit all the time. and claim it's somehow holy.

étoile - cantrip would be sword burst. her magic is purposely not very gestured, so being able to just have swords rotate around her is a very cool visual and she agrees. as for proper spells, feeblemind. bc i like to imagine that her specific version causes the effect of reducing INT and CHA to 1 by transforming your body into a doll. she thinks its very useful. though crown of stars is a close second.

caroline - dancing lights! she thinks theyre pretty and it was the first spell she learned. and her favourite regular spell is teleport, bc she can go home no matter how far away she is!

as for emily, my favourite cantrip is toll the dead and my favourite spell is imprisonment!

so um. the dread doctors needed chimeras because they wanted to bring back "La Bete" the beast, the orginial werewolf. something something rebirth. they needed them to be chimera so they would be able to withstand hosting them. if i remember right and i probablt dont so anyway. this begins theo's time with the pack. he returns to beacon hills, its season 5. he saves scott from this .. guy idk, and scott and stiles are like "THEO???? FROM 4TH GRADE???" and his story was basically "i was at the skatepark, it was getting pretty late and i was working on this trick, im not very good😅, and um i went down and realized my skateboard never came down with me. i got bitten by an alpha but by the next full moon he was dead." <- summary. stiles was suspicious of him from the start. he didn't like him. says "that's not the same theo from 4th grade." the  ONLY one listening to him is Liam. the Only. the reason theo is even there is for a pack, as long as he does what the dread doctors say(they want him to take scott's true alpha power , which is genuinely impossible but i think he almost did. anyway. he didn't get alpha powers or scott's pack so it was a fail anyway.), they promised him a pack. he wants scotts pack SUBTRACT SCOTT. so he's manipulating everyone to turn against him, to leave him. shit worked too😘🙏🏼😜🥰😎😊😝☝🏼. so yeah he put his entire pussy into that performance . he delivered. as the season (5A bc the season is split into 2 parts like that) went on it became increasingly and increasingly clear the dread doctors have been using theo this entire time and really didn't care if he had a pack or not. he did his damndest tho. he got liam to nearly kill scott. like i mean THE BRINK. Hmmmmm well I forgot almost most of them except the main ones like I know there’s one who yeeted herself and cracked her head open, another who is like in a catatonic state or something, a guy, some girlboss whose name I still don’t get how it’s supposed to be written (I also think she’s like a furry? She has a wolf thing going on me thinks) and also there’s this janitor guy who’s always watering flowers too he’s important I think ……that’s all I remember for side characters 😭😭😭😭

As for characters I do remember we have Tobi ofc I like that he’s an awkward littol kid who doesn’t wanna be involved with anything (same) but still get to do things bc Ryuuko forces him to LMAO. Then is Ryuuko I like her a lot! She really do be dragging Tobi around everywhere I hope when she leaves the only bad thing that happens to her is them breaking up in front of a KFC. Then there’s Seki I hate his ass but I feel as a character he’s really well made(?) bc he gives the impression of being a loving brother and when you first see him in Tokyo Ghetto you just see a guy struggling and suffering and you cant help but feel bad for him but the more you read and know about him the worse he gets he’s an iIrredeemable bastard but I like those kinda characters tbh….still hate him tho! Another character I remember is Rukana….she’s a complicated case for me bc I know she’s being manipulated (and possibly groomed) but like she’s not a good person either and she would also sell my soul for a corn chip if her beloved S-sama told her to and like she’s complicated and Idk what to feel about her…she’s the CEO of Tobi-Tobi tho. He's happy to offer advice, happy to support even total strangers... really he's a guy that loves to do stuff for people from the bottom of his heart! this is true even if your character's a little on questionable moral side (like at reasonable amounts, depends whether you want to keep it lighthearted or not).... he's not a TOTAL pushover but he's also very much a people pleaser -- on the flipside he CAN in fact be a menace himself! Lighthearted pranks and all (he feels bad if he goes too far lol)... - generally though they'll just do with what friends would do !

BUSINESS ASSOCIATES - idk like whatever stuff business you would have with adult toy store but lol well you can always just be material supplier etc. but anything else goes too

SOME SMALLTIME GIG THING? - you manage to get eiden roped into any job you can think of

Maybe they just end up kind of arguing when they meet, etc.... things like that. this can be kind of on antagonisic side too ? but for some reason there is this will to work whatever this is out!

Eiden's usually pretty put together but it'd be fun to have those people that will kind of challenge him sometimes too, in ...whatever? ok so starting off!! i feel like tsukasa wouldve played animal crossing together with saki when they were little and he would grow to love the games a lot <3 he would have a wonderland themed island on acnh and play happy home paradise a lot too!! i feel like he would play story heavy games too, but def avoids horror

he would play any games that are either talked abt by his s/o or recommended to him personally <3 he also likes to play games like stardew, minecraft, animal crossing, etc. with other ppl (even though he constantly dies or gets bullied lmao) ALSO idk why (maybe the fantasy aspect in a lot of them??) but i think he would be love nintendo games!! he would enjoy playing kirby, pokemon, mario (esp party), splatoon, animal crossing, fire emblem, etc. but would 100% avoid smash bc he cant even beat a cpu :') tsukasa also def played nintendogs as a kid and knows the entirety of the kingdom hearts lore!!

as for rui, i think he would play a wide variety of games (like literally anything that peaks his interest)! i think he would play any game his s/o likes bc he rly likes to play with them! <3 he also likes story heavy games bc they sometimes give him inspiration (he also loved laughing at games with bad writing) <3 ruis probably banned from a few minecraft servers after testing bizzare redstone contraptions (that caused the server to suffer a lag spike oops </3) idk why but i also feel like rui would also have a shit ton of mods that makes the game overly complicated lmao

i gave up on organizing my thoughts for the rest of this so heres my v random list on what i think rui would or has played and likes im sorry in advance bc these feel horribly spontaneous skdhkd i think he would be weirdly good at mario kart and splatoon (loves beating tsukasa), likes the persona series, played among us and phasmophobia a few times when they were trending, likes (usually laughing at) horror and psychological thrillers, was an undertale kid, played and likes omori and deltarune, has trolled kids on roblox, downloaded those weird mobile games for laughs, and he likes most building/simulation games (esp if they have a more complex system like minecraft)

Honestly tho, I love these headcanons a lot and some of them made me laugh, especially of how funny it is to imagine Rui terrorizing poor kids online.

I like the idea of Tsukasa having played a bunch of older games with Saki when they were younger. He'd have a blasted with happy home paradise I'm sure. Overall I think he enjoys more relaxed and often story driven games but he'd play just about anything if it were with someone else. Both he and Rui like to find inspiration from fantasy story games.

Rui, oh boy... is absolute troll on multiplayer games just for the fun of it but never in a mean-spirited way. I could see him having fun playing awful games and watching terrible movies/tv shows with his s/o just to they could make fun of it together. I like to think that Rui has played against Nene a lot in the past and she's really good at pretty much any game so it's made him pretty good. I'm sure anything would building or creating he'd love.

I imagine an among us lobby of a bunch of pjsekai characters and it being chaos with Rui being very good at being an imposter and throwing blame and is an excellent liar and so no one ever trusts him no matter what. Would also team up with an imposter while he was a crew mate just to screw everyone up lmao.

Man i think the cloudxbarret remake content is possibly the first time in my life I've gotten close to understanding the appeal of self inserting onto a canon character for the purposes of imagining yourself in a relationship with the other character.

To be clear. I do not really ship cloudxbarret in the way that I ship most ships. (Tho i accept cloudxalmost everyone except sephiroth) I do, however relate to, and am willing to heavily project onto cloud. And I personally find barret (especially remake barret) very attractive. So cloudxbarret content is gratifying in a very sepcific way for me.

Part of this is just like... its rare for me to find anyone attractive in the way I find barret attractive, that being "the way I'd immagine/understand most allosexual people find others attractive" (i cant even get into it is too complicated bro, there are litterally maybe like three other people on that list). But i also still have various hang ups around "myself" that I couldn't really imagine "myself" having any sort of relations with litterally any canon character in anything ever. Barret included.
