been thinking about the tharjabelle family unit a lot. i think maribelle spent five thousand years scraping through ye olden baby names textbooks in her family’s library and was like “We shall name our daughter Noire! It’s a lovely name, a reference to your love of the dark arts and [wikipedia etymology section] while still being classy. Just gorgeous. Now, what shall we name our son?” and tharja goes “brady.” mari’s like ???? fym brady what the hell is that and tharja goes “oh its traditional plegian” “Oh, really!? 😄” “no”

Gotta admit, your bot rant intrigues me. I definetly agree with what you said and all but it makes curious, how you rewrite the bot plot to make it not as bad as it actually is given the choice? <:) (Also want to take this as oppurtunity to say I love your takes and art by the way!)
First Off: Omg Tysm That's So Sweet of You :]]]] 💕💕💕
Second Off: My Issue With the Bot Situation is I Feel It Squanders the Concept of Bot Being Based On Bow, a Person Who Did Exist and Also is Still Around. S3 Has Several People Who Knew Her, Her Miraculous Return From the Dead Should Raise a Couple of Eyebrows. I'm Not Crazy About Test Tube and Fan Making Her, I Feel Its a Odd They Did This When They Explicitly Learned Not to Project Their Feelings Onto Other Concious Beings Before, and Also I Simply Don't Think Either of Them are This Disrespectful. Both of Them Were on Marshmallow's Team, They (In Theory) Would Know How Much Bow Meant to Her.
S3 Keeps Gesturing At the Theme of a Show Being Dragged Out Long Past When It Should've Finished and I Think Bot Should Be a Thesis Character for This, and I Think the Weird Walkie Talkie Voice Should've Been Responsible for Her Existence. We Don't Know Anything About Walkie Talkie Because She Doesn't Do Anything, if She Did Make Bot That Would Make Sense With Her Whole Goal of Keeping ii Running and it Would Add Some Tension ans Complexity to the Series. How Did She Do This and Why? Are There Other People Involved? Isnt This Horribly Invasive? You Could Still Have Test Tube and Fan Adopt Bot or Whatever Idc But If She Was Made By a Shadowy Faceless Entity Using the Likeness of a Popular Dead Celebrity to Boost Ratings of a New TV Show That Would Say Something Right? There's a Statement Being Made Here, What's the Statement of Test Tube and Fan Making Bot Other Than "We Did Not Learn From the Egg Baby."

i think one of the biggest issues i have with south park as a media with an effect on society /how dudebros talk about it is that they conflate being centrist and satire with being apolitical, and thus think the messaging and politics of it is above criticism because "it's not a show about politics its making FUN of politics" when like. no. centrisim is a political policy it's a political stance that can be criticized. South park isn't an apolitical show it's STEEPED in politics and it's messaging, even and ESPECIALLY as satire, is political in topic and nature.

Why can't I be satisfied with everything? It needs to be perfect to me and I can't accept anything otherwise :(

the flint coming out/silvers worst possible reaction convo is one of the few times we actually see flint like. uncomfortable? or nervous i guess? when silver says he doesn't think the pattern of flint's closest person/partner dying will apply to him because of recent events, flint's response ("it is .. natural for men new to power to assume that it has no limits. trust me - it does.") seems strange. he doesn't argue against seeking out his own tragedies as he did before, or deny the pattern, or tell silver to stop blaming him for the deaths of his partners. he tells silver he isn't as powerful as he might feel at that moment. he's defensive, thrown off-balance by the vulnerability of sharing his most guarded heart and secret, only for silver to throw it back in his face. this conversation is significant for a number of reasons, but one of which is that it highlights flint's devotion to silver (he tells silver he is Entitled to the truth) and silver's reticence to genuine connection with flint. he tells flint he's sorry, but then ruthlessly points out a pattern he sees as a potential danger to him. silver is STILL acting in his own self interest here, almost defensively, whereas flint has given himself entirely over to silver. what happens makes me think of this post - flint has such personal authenticity, he KNOWS what he stands for, he has cast his lot, his narrative is fixed, that he is able to give his truth to silver. whereas silver is still playing at both sides. his identity has coagulated into silver, but he's not Long John Silver yet. he doubts this war, he doubts flint and madi's motivations. why expose a weakness when there's no need? all he sees of flint's confession is a potential threat to him. and then there's flint's response in the face of silver coolly explaining why he will survive flint's self-inflicted tragedy, a weak attempt at silver's feelings of strength, a defensive response to what flint perceives to be an attack from silver.. which silver IMMEDIATELY overturns with his stunt with dobbs, using the men as pawns in his dance with flint, proving to flint that silver is strong, that silver will survive flint. that silver will hurt flint. and all flint has to offer is an uncertain but (to me) very genuine attempt at comfort in the face of silver's ironclad defense of his own strength. that even if they agree silver has such powerful influence over the men, flint can still stand with him, against him if they have to.

i think the problem (?) is that the only kind of (fictional?) love that interests me is the kind of love that changes the world. the kind of love that derails the narrative, the kind of love that changes everything -- not necessarily by how special or unique the love is but by the very mundanity of it. the love that grows, not in spite of the barren lovelessness of Before, but out of it. i think that's why I'm always so invested in ships that are two people diametrically opposed to each other, or enemies-to-friends-to-lovers, or two people on separate sides of the morality issue coin, because i love it when love... not that it changes a person but it allows the person to Become. the space, the grace, to change. to love the monster, to love the unlovable and the intolerable, is to make it something other than a monster, than unlovable, than intolerable. i love it when being loved at your worst, ugliest, most horrible self is what makes you want to be someone worth loving. like is this ANYTHING to anyone or

tbh all things considered im at least glad that my discomfort with totk is what really drove me to really discover a lot of the discussion and analysis into the racism and orientalist stuff and... all of that in the zelda series, since i was halfway aware of it in the past but only more recently started to really look into it further and see what others have to say about it

what annoys me so fucking bad about trying to talk about an imagined anarchist/communist/etc future is just how fucking bad people are at asking questions. like asking stupid shit like "how would we run restraunts in an anarchist society?" (if your answer is anything remotely in the vein of "would we?" they will get very mad) and its like! why are these the questions u ask?? like i wanna hear more people ask fucking in depth shit. questions that force u to ask 10 more questions before you get anywhere remotely close to an answer. how would we run restaurants in anarchist society? -> would we run restaurants in an anarchist society? -> what differenciates a restaurant from any other kind of dining hall? -> is our future one without payment? without servitude? -> if our future "restaurants" are without payment, without servitude, isnt it really more of a cafeteria? -> in a world so different from our own, where we are not defined by capitalism and domination, would we even recognize these new structures by their old world titles? as hypothetical travellers in time would we arrive in their world and think to call their structures and relationships and rivers by the same names we used for our own? or would it all be so foreign and so transformed from what we once knew that we find ourselves without words at all? anyways all this is to say go fucking read the left hand of darkness by ursula k le guin. if u dont know how to ask the right questions youll never find a meaningful answer

GLAD STREAM WENT SMOOTHLY THIS TIME had so much fun!!
BUT NOOOOOOO SOME OF YOUR FRAMING AND ANGLES REMINDED ME... We finished Hero recently so we rewatched Hero SP and watched the "sequel"… Hero SP is still my favorite thing to come out of it by far TBH but I was happy to see Nakai's character back in the latter [he's got this starting-to-grey beard, so Obviously I Was Thinking About Arakawa Aging In The Years Ichi Was Gone, and also he's smiling almost every second he's on-screen so I was :] ].
At the same time, because Takita's a Sympathetic Antagonist Who Went To Prison Returning In A Sequel… it put the fear of God in me with regard to Jo coming back because [spoilers </3] Takita's only in it for two-and-a-half scenes and he has cancer… I would say One Fear but again I have MANY FEARS when it comes to Jo and honestly MOST OF THEM are about not getting a satisfactory resolution [if there has to be one], like Aoki. I'd already made my peace with him not coming back at all in 2019 [2018 if I'm counting RGGJo]… pleeease don't do him dirty that's my emotional support shitty old bitch 😭😭😭
Extremely specific worries aside here are Nakai's dogs Kurumi and Pairan as promised :] Kurumi means walnut... if you even care...
STREAM WORKING MEANS I DIDNT HAVE TO PICK UP ICE FISHING YIPPEE !!!!!!!!
ABOUT JO THO AND HIS INEVITABLE-RETURN-BUT-UNCERTAIN FATE.... we can only wait... rgg wont let me in their basement anymore i cant leak secrets as to what could happen to him- at the very least i hope the rgg team understands people like satisfactory, Non Bullshit endings to character arcs.... so here's to hoping he gets that if possible :] if not uhhhh hope he gets the least cringe exit from the series :]]
BUT NAKAI'S DOGS HELLOOOOO THEY'RE BABIES I LOVE THEM HIIII !!!!!!! THEIR NAMES ARE SO CUTE PAIRAN AND CHESTNUT..... im ashamed to admit i already knew 'kurumi' meant chestnut.... as krillin's name from dragon ball derives from 'kuri'.... that doesnt make the name any less cute it makes them better TO ME (❁´▽`❁)
