tysm for answering my question about corr! I'm so happy to be your first request for him :D could you please write something about reader being anxious about meeting his family on mandalore to the point of not being able to sleep, because she's estranged from her own family? I think he'd be so sweet and comforting <3
Family Meeting
Summary: Corr has been planning on introducing you to his family for ages now, especially since you're now living together, but the closer the day comes, the more anxious you become.
Pairing: Corr Skirata x F!Reader
Word Count: 1462
Warnings: Anxiety, mentions of an abusive family
Tagging: @trixie2023 @n0vqni
A/N: You're welcome for answering your ask! I'm more than happy to answer any questions! Thank you for sending in someone new for me to write (thought Wookieepedia was not helpful about his personality, lol). I hope you like it! I also made a new divider specifically for this story! Yay!
Tumblr media
It’s late.
Super late.
Late enough that even your Tooka has gone to sleep, and you, rather tellingly, are still awake. Awake and in the kitchen, anxiously kneading dough to make more bread.
And, you really, really don’t need any more bread.
Tomorrow you are supposed to meet Corr’s family. And he’s so, so excited to introduce you, and you’re trying, so very hard, to be excited too. This is Corr’s family. They’re so, so important to him, and so they should be to you.
But every time you think about an actual family meeting you feel a little sick.
Annoyingly, at this point, the anxiety has grown to the point where you’re not able to sleep. Every time you try to close your eyes to get some rest, the anxiety becomes worse, and you were starting to run the risk of waking Corr, so you just got up.
Your perfect man could sleep through a bombing, you’re pretty sure, so you puttering around the kitchen shouldn’t wake him up.
The biggest problem, you suppose, is that you don’t know what a family is supposed to look like. You haven’t spoken to your own parents since you were a young teenager, and you cut the rest of your family off as soon as you turned 18 and were legally able to do so.
And you know, know, that Corr would sooner sell his prosthetic arms than introduce you to people who might hurt you. Not to mention that these are his brothers and his dad-
But you can’t just forget your family’s words. How they looked the other way when your grandmother was pushing her eating disorder on you. How they blamed you for being in the hospital when you got too sick to survive. How they forbade you from getting the medical attention you needed. How they took and took and took until there was nothing left to take.
How they blamed you when you had nothing left to give.
No. To you, family has always meant pain and hunger and cold and suffering-
But this is Corr, so, naturally, you’re going to grit your teeth and put up with it because he’s more important to you than anything. Even if it does feel a little bit like torture.
You jump at the sound of bare feet scuffing against the floor, and strong arms slide around your waist, “Cyare,” Corr whines your petname, his voice thick with sleep, “Why are you baking at 2 in the morning? People sleep at 2 in the morning.”
“I couldn’t sleep,” You say, honestly, “Did I wake you?”
“I rolled over to wrap myself around you, and you weren’t there.” Corr sleepily nuzzles just under your ear, “I thought something was wrong. Not that you were trying to single handedly bake enough bread for all of Mandalore.”
You look at the bowls of rising dough, there are five of them so far, and then over at the three loaves of bread you already finished, “...I was thinking I’d make cookies next,” You admit guiltily.
He sighs, and presses a light kiss under your ear, “Cyare, baby, what’s wrong?”
“Nothing!”
“Don’t lie. I know you bake when you’re worried about something.”
“Do not.”
“Do so.” He lightly pinches your waist, “Come on, cyare. Now I know something is wrong. Tell me.”
“I…you…it’s dumb.”
“It’s not dumb if it’s keeping you awake.” Corr replies logically.
You scowl and press the dough roughly, “How dare you use logic when I’m having an anxiety spiral.”
“Because I know you respond better to logic than emotion when you’re like this,” He kisses your cheek, “What are you so anxious about?”
“Nothing.”
“Liar.” He kisses your cheek again and again, and then he spins you so you’re facing him and then pulls you flush against him, and you squeak as you press your flour covered hands against his bare chest for balance.
“Sorry-”
“It’s just flour, it’ll wash off. I’ve had worse on me.” Corr replies, unconcerned, his dark eyes scanning your face, “Should I try and guess what’s bothering you?”
“You should go back to sleep-” You say with a frown.
Corr leans in and kisses the tip of your nose, “Let’s see…are you worried about the new washer being delivered at the end of the week?”
“No.” You pause, and your brow furrows, “Wait, should I be?”
“Nope. It’s all taken care of.” He trails kisses from the tip of your nose to just under your eyes, “Are you anxious about money?”
“Not today.” You grumble.
“Good, because we have more than enough,” Corr says cheerfully, before he trails his lips from under your eye to your ear, “Hm…are you worried about…the garden?”
You release a quiet laugh, “You mean the dead garden? No.”
“Yeah, we really screwed that one up, didn’t we? We’ll do better next year.” Corr promises, he kisses down your jaw, and then pulls back, “Are you worried about meeting my family tomorrow?”
Your stomach drops, and  you immediately avert your gaze, “...no.”
Corr slides his hands up your sides to press them against your cheeks, gently adjusting your head so you’re meeting his gaze, “Oh, cyare. You don’t have anything to worry about. They’re going to love you as much as I do.”
“...I highly doubt that.”
“Alright, yeah.” Corr grins, “I don’t think anyone loves you as much as I do. Because you’re so smart and kind and gentle-”
You huff and press your finger against his lips, “Corr.”
“Sorry. I just think you’re amazing and you deserve to know it.” Corr replies with a lopsided grin, “Anyway, you have no reason to be worried about my family, because they’re going to love you because I love you.”
“Corr, my own family saw me as a resource to be exploited-”
“Your family isn’t worth the air the breath,” Corr interrupts, his gaze serious, “And if I ever have the displeasure to meet the people who made you think so poorly of yourself, I’m going to introduce them to my blasters.”
“That seems excessive.”
“It really, really isn’t.” Corr disagrees, then his gaze softens, “Cyare, my family isn’t like your family. They’re not going to mistreat you.”
“Yeah, but…”
“No buts,” He leans in and bumps his forehead against yours, “Would I ever introduce you to people who might hurt you?”
“You haven’t so far.” You admit.
“And I never will.”
You hesitate but you don’t say anything for a moment, and he lightly strokes your cheek with his thumb, “Cyare, do you trust me?”
“Stupid question, of course I trust you.”
“Then trust me on this. This meeting is going to go great, because if my brothers do anything to upset you I’m going to shoot them.”
You blink at him, startled, and he flashes a sheepish smile, “I’m a little nervous about introducing you to them too. Not because I’m worried that they might hurt you, but because they know everything about me, and I’m worried that they might change your opinion of me.” He pauses, “I also may have mentioned to Kal’buir that you didn’t have the best family-”
“Corr!”
“No details. Just that you’re a little hesitant about family things, and he’ll keep everyone under control. I promise.” He tries to reassure, “I didn’t want anyone to walk in to think blind, cyare. That’s all.”
“What did you tell him?”
“Just that your family mistreated you, you’re still recovering from it, and that you’re prone to anxiety in new situations. That’s all. I wouldn’t betray your trust like that, cyare.”
You sigh and close your eyes, “I know. And, thinking about it, I suppose it’s not the end of the world if you tell them.” Though you don’t sound sure about it.
Corr drops his hand back to your hip, “I won’t tell them anything until you’re ready.” He squeezes your hip gently, “Are you ready to try and sleep, cyare?”
“...yeah, I can try.”
“Good girl,” He kisses you quickly, “This time I’ll cuddle with you until you fall asleep, cyare.” Corr kisses you one more time, “And the next time you’re too anxious to sleep, tell me. I’d rather comfort you earlier so you can sleep, than for you to be stewing in your own anxiety on your own for hours.”
You duck your head, “Sorry.”
“Don’t be. I’m not mad. Just worried.” Corr tilts your head back to kiss you one last time, “I love you after all.”
“I love you too.” With Corr’s help, you get all of the dough stored in the fridge, and then he drags you to bed, and curls himself around you, and finally, finally, you’re able to drift off to sleep with the sound of his heartbeat steady in your ear.

OC Jedi DONUT Copy
I will apologize on the front end, but I never read the prequel young adult books. So I have NO IDEA who Ferus Olin really is. I was made aware of him because he's like a favorite random young Jedi folks sometimes ship with Anakin. So I read about him on Wookieepedia...and uh, maybe it's a bad summary, but does he feel like somebody's OC Jedi?
He grew up Anakin Skywalker's rival
Sure that makes sense with the timeline.
He was so good in almost everyway, and knew something was wrong with Anakin
Okay...
But then he left the Jedi Order, blaming himself for the death of another padawan
Huh, sure.
He became the best slicer in the galaxy and joined the GAR as an officer, but the Empire totally forgot he was a Jedi.
Wait, what?
He started his Rebellion that stretched across the galaxy
Wait, so what
But it was crushed handily
What was the point of even writing that story?
He started serving the Emperor as a double agent
Wait, how, you...when?
He learned dark powers from the Emperor himself
Whelp, standard fall to the dark side...
But he was still okay and worked with Bail Organa and was around Leia.
Okay that's bullshit!
He learned Dark Powers from the Sith Holocron...
And then he was corrup...he was totally fine wasn't he?
He was still a good guy, fighting for good, and it's totes okay because he wanted that power to kill Darth Vader who he knew was Anakin because Vader said something to him that Anakin said to him years and years ago.
What the fuck?

ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY 5-Year Anniversary | Released 16 December 2016 “I've been thinking about Jyn and the rest of Rogue One. How many things went wrong for them? And Rogue One took whatever steps they needed. People making distractions, sacrificing themselves, amping up the signal. All improvised. This chain of sacrifice... all leading to me taking that shot.” — Luke Skywalker

wonder if part of why the swtor jedi-sith conflict plays the way it does with “sith stans” and etc because the sith empire are functionally saturday morning cartoon villains - “murder and mayhem await!” compared to the more, i guess, believable evil of the republic/jedi following good ideals to bad conclusions and justifying war crimes
I'd certainly say it doesn't help things, you're right! I have...a lot of issues with the Jedi and their portrayal (especially in the Legends/SWTOR era), but I also recognise that a lot of that is very personal to me and that another fan might feel differently. Long, ranty post ahead so if that's not your deal, skip this one.
TL;DR: thinking critically about the behaviour of the Good Guys bad, I guess, since they're the good guys and you're obviously not allowed to use your own agency to decide something they do makes you deeply, viscerally uncomfortable.  And God help you if you disagree with anything they do and cite personal experience behind your (very justified) avoidance of that rhetoric/teaching, because Bad Things Justified If Good People Do Them and how dare you have different personal experiences and responses. If that's what you do, you're doing fandom wrong /s Also, bad writing choices of the writers themselves that perpetuate toxic, harmful viewpoints and/or stereotypes don't mean anything when said viewpoints/stereotypes are the Bad Guys because...Bad Guys Aren’t Supposed To Be People With Rights, Thoughts and Feelings Too, They’re Just Evil, (cringe)
Disagreeing with someone’s opinions is fine, but if you’re going to deliberately expose yourself to content you don’t like and then attack the person that is making the content because they made it and it upset you when you went looking for it....you are, in fact, the one at fault babes. No one is holding you hostage, you can block tags or unfollow a person (especially me. I really don’t care honest to god, if my posts are not your jam just leave. please.) if you hate what they post so much and are unable to just scroll past things you don’t like to stay for things you do. I’ve done it and will continue to do so, and my fandom experience is happier for it. Also, people are human and sometimes we’re tired and we make mistakes like we miss a trigger tag, and you are within your right to come to the person and point that out, but you are not within your right to threaten them because they made a mistake. Then you’re just a dick.
But I still wouldn't be the one going around (passive) aggressively attacking other fans for disagreeing with my opinions and again, this is based on personal experience, but I've seen a lot more of that stuff from "pro-Jedi" people who seem to be conveniently okay with shit like mass-genocide and cultural erasure because "the Jedi are the good guys and the (OT) Sith are fascists!"
I don't interact with the subsect of fans that do think "the (OT) Empire did nothing wrong hurr durr" unironically (and for good reason, I don't agree with that viewpoint either and the fact that half the time the "defence" of these other fans is "well you're pro-fascist then!!" lmao) but there's a very big gap between the OT Empire which is rightfully a mirror of fascism and dictatorial governments and I do, in fact, raise my eyebrows in heavy criticism and disdain at the writers of the TOR-era deliberately choosing to "justify" the ultimate end being said fascist Empire by making the Sith species (and as always I preface this by saying I am in fact white & therefore know I have priveledge and can only "relate" on a much shallower level as POC fans, but there are places where I do find them more relatable than the TOR-era Jedi which reek of conservative, pearl-clutching Christianity (which I spent way too much of my life having forced upon me by the bible-bashing Evangelists(tm) in my family) to me and I just don't have the fucks to give to spend time fixing something that's honestly traumatising for me to be reminded of):
-heavily Indigenous/POC-coded
-"tribal" and not in a properly-researched and respectfully portrayed sense but in a very deliberate "these people are savage and need to be colonised and "sophisticated" by the More Acceptible (Human) Dark Jedi" even though they had their own society, belief systems, and even had technology - just not in the "socially acceptible, conventional sense" I guess
-perpetuating this by adding slavery and all of that can of worms into the mix too, just to drive home the "evil and bad" prototype ig. I'm not even gonna speak more on this part because it just makes me angry.
-Deliberately giving them more "alien" or inhuman characteristics, which while by itself is not necessarily a bad thing, put it together with all the other things?? Big. Fucking. Oof.
-Were literally exterminated and the survivors selectively bred for ONLY the "bad and evil" traits for not agreeing with the Jedi's beliefs. Their own practises and beliefs were automatically "evil" and "wrong" just because they didn't want to "convert" (sniff sniff, Christianity, is that you?)
A direct quote for those who can't be bothered to click and read the link:
For nearly two thousand years, superstition, loyalty and sympathy were bred out as the two groups interbred, and qualities such as cunning, ambition and affinity to the Force were favored, which shaped Sith society over the centuries.[3][21][22] In the Sith Empire, as time progressed pure-blooded Sith were steadily bred out,[6] resulting in only a few pure-blooded Sith left in the Sith Empire by the time of the Great Hyperspace War.[13] Long after, the true species in the Empire were believed to have gone extinct due to the interbreeding process.
And conversely the Jedi:
-Deny young children contact with their parents, siblings and families from the moment their Force sensitivity shows (hmmmm. )
-Continually and actively support the condemnation and Exile of "imperfect" Jedi, hell, it's even pointed out on Wookieepedia, that any Force sensitive, even those who are not aligned to either faction, but that train with or follow teachings that are not Jedi Approved (tm) is labelled as a "Dark Jedi" by the Jedi Order
Although "Dark Jedi" originally referred to a Jedi who had fallen to the dark side, it could also refer to uninitiated Force-sensitives who received no Jedi training but began their careers under another Dark Jedi. Others were simply dark-side users who did not follow the teachings of the Sith or other dark side organizations.
because "oh noooo you do not follow the way of the Truth and the Light you horrible person how dare you defy The One True Correct Teaching, that makes you the Devil Incarnate no matter what" UGH.
-Continuously push the idea (very heavily) that Emotions Are Bad, which just creates a bunch of emotionally-stunted powderkegs unable to recognise, confront and deal with said emotions (and as I've said, I would know, I was one and maybe still am in some ways lmao) , then blames said powderkeg for exploding because they were never taught how to handle the emotions in the first place.
(Fuck "there is no emotion, there is peace", that's not how people work and never will be lmao)
I don't really know what else to say about this to be honest, because even though I've only been on tumblr about a year now, I'm already tired of this constant "I'm right, you're wrong" finger-pointing between those people in the fandom.
Cause to some of these "pro-Jedi" people it's an unthinkable crime to dare to have a different opinion to them and just want to be left alone, I guess. I've literally been attacked for saying "I don't like the Jedi and find dealing with their dogma too traumatising based on personal experience and trauma from my childhood so I'm going to avoid it but you do you"
I've had American Christians (tm) clap back to that with the ever-wonderful "LMAO bitch you don't have religious trauma, you didn't grow up in the bible-belt, stop trying to be edgy, shut up and go to therapy"
(all of this is sarcasm, for those who need me to spell it out for you. I'm still traumatised by the shit I went through and have to constantly check myself and my own feelings because of the toxic "habits" those teachings tried to push onto me as a child and I have zero tolerance and patience for your (not you, ssalmon, but the royal "you" as it were) victim-blaming abuse apologism "gotchas")
because 1) clearly American Christianity and the bible-belt are the only insidious and harmful subsect of Christianity and it's not like the concept of Evangelism as a whole is inherently toxic, harmful, and traumatising to those subjected to it right 2) Obviously there's a Stated Right Way To Be Traumatised and anyone who falls outside of that (Non-Existent) handbook is "faking it for attention" 3) bold of them to assume that curating my own fandom (and life) experience, and refusing to engage with things that trigger me, isn't something that I literally fucking learned in therapy lmao
Also, I find it funny how these are the people going around attacking people like me, who are literally minding our own motherfucking business, but then claim to preach “love and tolerism” and all this other bullshit. Karen, sweetie, only one of us is going around telling people they deserve to be murdered/stabbed for disagreeing with thier opinion about a videogame and pointing out that “hey, that’s...very yikes maybe don’t do that, step back and calm down” and it ain’t me (true story, this happened a couple of months ago and I don’t wanna dredge the post up because it’s very upsetting to think about) People are allowed to have opinions, and they don’t have to agree with your opinion just because that’s what you think, and the second that you sink to sending people death threats because they don’t share your opinion, you are, in fact, the asshole in that conversation.
It was even funnier because the person in question followed me first, I initially thought they were pretty cool so I followed back, then they threw a massive temper-tantrum and threw a bunch of very upsetting and triggering shit at me without my consent because I didn’t agree with them (I’d even put my opinions in tags on MY blog in an attempt to be courteous and not hijack their post with negativity, in hindsight perhaps I should have made my own post in the first place and I do acknowledge that BUT if that’s all they’d said I would have apologised and moved on, quite gladly, there was no need for them to explode the way they did at me for...making a mistake because I’m a stranger on the internet who didn’t know them & wasn’t a mind-reader and I happened to miss a trigger tag that I didn’t think of at the time lmao)
This post is getting awful long and rambly so I'm going to shut up now, but that's my take on it I guess, I hope that's what you were getting at and if it's not I apologise, I've been taking a huge step back and actively just avoiding any and all major posts related to this discourse as of a few months ago because it just infuriates and upsets me too much, it’s not worth the detriment to my mental health, I’m just here to make friends who are also hyperfixated on SWTOR and have fun vibing and talking about our characters, not get into one-sided morality debates with pearl-clutchers. 🤷

Ruminating on Rebels, 2
I know I took awhile with this episode, but boy does it feel long. The pacing is off? Or my brain is just unhappy. No idea which. I suspect that’s just my brain, though.
SPOILERS AHEAD. REBELS CRITICAL. For details what this is about, here’s a post.  My relevant tag is “throwing popcorn at Rebels”.
Episode 2: Spark of Rebellion Part II
Overview:
Ezra runs into the Star Destroyer to warn the team, gets to Zeb and Kanan just before they get ganked at the cell block. Sabine cuts the gravity, leaves a lot of explosives at the control room, but Ezra gets caught on the way out. The Ghost crew makes it to hyper before finding this out from Zeb, vote on going back or not. Kallus makes a pretext of questioning Ezra (note: I think it’s meant as legit, but it felt lackluster), and then Ezra escapes as the Ghost crew arrives to rescue him. They meet up part way and book it, only to find that while escaping, Ezra overheard where the wookies REALLY were being held. Off they go to Kessel to save the wookiees! Fight scene at the spice mines, leading to Kanan using the lightsaber and getting ID’d as a Jedi, Ezra faces off against Kallus to save a kid wookiee, the team escapes. Kanan offers Ezra a chance to join up and learn to use the Force, and away they go to a  dramatic voice-over by Obi-Wan via holocron recording.
Random impressions:
These wookiees are AWFUL
PLASTIC FOR YOU, PLASTIC FOR YOU, BAD ACTION FIGURES OF EEEEEEVERYONE
I really, REALLY, R E A L L Y don’t like Hera. She’s advertised as team leader and Space!Mom, but all I keep seeing is manipulative bullshit. Apparently letting Ezra take the holocron was a test to see if he was Force sensitive. Her comment in the Ghost the last episode about “If all you do is fight for your own life, then your life is worth nothing” - aaaagh. That – I get what they’re TRYING to say, about having Purpose is good, but having been in A Very Bad Place where all I could do was cling by my fingernails and try to take care of myself because 1, no one else would and 2, that was literally all I could manage – that just smacks me in the face with guilt-tripping. I know it’s not meant to be that, just...UGH. At best, it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I’m going to continue side-eyeing her until she proves she’s not ACTUALLY an asshole, and yes, that is apparently an uphill battle.
The rescued wookiees say that if the Ghost crew “ever need help, they’ll be there” - THAT BETTER PAY OUT BEFORE THE SERIES IS OVER. (spoiler: Wookieepedia indicates it does not. I am disappoint, though I will keep an eye out in case it’s wrong.)
I am totally convinced now that Ezra HAS actually been using the Force awhile. The way he somersaults over crates into cover – dodging blaster bolts – and then later over a trooper to get between him and a Wookiee kid – that’s something Ezra KNOWS he can do. Like, past experience doing that sort of leap. I want to see how this interacts with Kanan’s lessons.
Kanan dodges bolts a lot more than he reflects them, but when he does they tend to take out troopers effectively. Someone’s spent time practicing.
Speaking of, he goes WAY hard on the Stoic Holy Jedi (With A Lightsaber Up His Ass) thing. Ugh. I want the goofy smuggler more. That’s more fun, AND show’s growth away from his past. We’ll see how that interacts with right now he’s trying to Jedi because oh noes, it’s a padawan (WHUT DOOOOOO)!
When Kanan shows up to save Ezra, he’s is riding on top the ghost, which pops up alongside the catwalk. ....meaning Mr. Drama Llama opened the doors to a shipping crate in flight and somehow flipped his way up to the top of the ship, OR lightsabered his way an exit through the TOP of the crate, which I hope was done carefully or they took out parts of the magnetic seal keeping the crate attached to the bottom of the ship. ...Jedi. SIGH. WHY COULD NO ONE MAKE A CRACK ABOUT THAT? YES IT WAS IMPRESSIVE, BUT THEN AFTERWARDS IT MAKES A GREAT TENSION RELEASE TO MAKE IT CLEAR THAT WAS UNUSUAL. Meh. Ok, that one’s probably me being too finicky.
Sabine left about 20 explosives in the control room. Just one of those has been shown to be enough to blast open doors and destroy a speeder bike. HOW MUCH BOOM DO YOU NEED? I mean, ok, this leads to a hole in the side of the super star destroyer (venting atmosphere! :D That was some LOVELY animation and there WAS squee about that!)
Zeb is a gods damned wreck. If he were less physically violent, I would pick him as a favorite, because interesting non-human and it’s clearly trauma and not knowing how to people that leads to him being...him. However, I can’t get over the way he’s THAT rough. There’s a line between “you’re dealing with old issues poorly, and that expresses itself through (at best) roughhousing and not gauging your own strength” and “you’re beating up on others and using your trauma as an excuse for it, and we all know how well ‘cool motive still murder’ works as a defense.”
When Ezra left, Chopper made sad bwoops and waved goodbye in a non-sarcastic way. Whut.
The animators are still not getting clear direction. The bit that really jumped out at me was when Ezra saves the kid wookiee, he’s shown hoisting the kid’s cuffed hands and looking all puzzled at the binders – and we just saw how he IMMEDIATELY knew how to pick those things open on the adult wookiees. Possibly just me being nitpicky again, but it’s very jarring to me.
The “I swear, if he gets left behind again it is not my fault!” bit showed up, and I can’t tell if that’s them trying to make the repetition is funny thing, or establishing a trend? I mean, I COULD see a longer running...not gag, but trend, of Zeb having to either leave or haul Ezra out of things and them bitching at each other over this for YEAAAAARS until it’s just an easy thing, a well-worn way to poke at a friend like an affable punch to the shoulder that is just a thing they do. Which could be cute, if done right.
Hopefully more coherent views:
The inter-group dynamics are wild, and I don’t think I mean that in a complimentary sense. Zeb is just...kinda broken, ok. Sabine was kind of a non-entity through most of this. I don’t have the spoons to count her lines, but the most memorable thing that she did was want to know how the explosion looked. Which...ok? I guess? Hera had more characterization, and we got the Competent!Pilot thing – along with the Manipulative Asshole thing, which yeah, I’m eyeballing a LOT more. Chopper came across as irritable and generally a cranky old man, which would fly better if Zeb wasn’t already trying to squat on that territory. It makes things feel more grating than perhaps they are. Kanan is your average Jedi but in better clothes, and I can’t tell how much sanctimoniousness is he doesn’t know how to teach, how much is just discomfort, and how much is I don’t like the manipulation of Ezra.
As for Ezra, he’s got some NEAT skills. I...kinda like the whole “nope, I’m not a hero, not running out there in a the middle of a blaster fight to save some rando” attitude because it’s hints of the hero’s journey having far to go, but there’s not enough heart of gold for me to give any shits. He’s TOO caught up in his own situation for me to care (and while I don’t blame him as a character for that, it makes him a third-rate Aladdin archetype. All the ‘in the rough’ but no ‘diamond’).
Kallus is satisfying to dislike, for all that he feels like a poor man’s Thrawn. The temper tantrum of kicking the surviving stormtrooper off the catwalk was gratuitous, but fine. We’re not supposed to like him. (Yes, I know about later, but I’m ignoring that at the moment.)
So. Yaye, I guess. We have our characters, we have our villain and our on-the-sidelines villain in the Inquisitor waiting to swoop in to be all mastermind badguy. We have our setup, and a few potential threads to follow back on.
End summary:
That was a weak (second half to a) first episode. I mean, again, that’s not a killer, but nothing about the show grabs me and goes “ISN’T THIS THING AWESOME???” There’s too much internal conflict without enough glue to bond people together, I have strong reasons to dislike almost everyone (and the rest are too undeveloped yet to really hit me one way or another). With the animation doing nothing for me, it’s...getting no traction so far.

OC profile meme
I got tagged by @aeducanka / @reverienne !! thank you! My darling Revan/Jess Ashley ❤️
Tumblr media
PHYSICAL
Name: Jess Ashley/Revan    She chose the name Revan when she was pretty young, after dropping her deadname. The jedi council gave her the name Jess Ashley along with her fake memories, but it stuck and she doesn’t mind being called either.
Nickname: Rev, Jessie
Age: 30 at the start of kotor1
Morality: Neutral Evil     I always have a hard time choosing an accurate alignment for my characters since I feel like they’re always in between somewhere. Jess is definitely neutral, since she does defy laws and rules if it’s in her best interest, but doesn’t go out of her way to break any. She certainly isn’t “good”, either. Neutral evil is being capable of anything as long as it advances the character or their goals and I feel like that fits quite well. (also she was on the red morality side ingame) PERSONAL
Religion: does the force count?    Jess doesn’t follow either the jedi or the sith code closely, but she’s very attuned and connected to the force and has created her own religion-like thinking around it. She definitely believes the force has a certain predetermined destiny for anyone and anything, and that she is able to sense that destiny. This has quite gone to her head, as she believes she’s some kind of prophet who can see the force’s will. However, she doesn’t dare going against that destiny(and if she does; it’s only reserved for the people she loves most in the universe).
Sins: greed/gluttony/sloth/lust/pride/envy/wrath
Virtues: chastity/charity/dilligence/humility/kindness/patience/justice
Known languages: common, wookiee, and since she has the force power comprehend speech, a lot more (even if she can’t remember how she got the ability to speak those languages)
Build: scrawny/bony/slender/fit/athletic/curvy/herculean/pudgy/plus size/average
Height: ~1.70m?
Scars/Birthmarks: Claw scars on her lower back    Headcanon time! She and some other padawans were stationed on Hoth for some training in the snow and of course she wandered off cause she was bored. Alek was right on her heels cause he was always the more responsible of the two and he was worried. They got sneak attacked by some big creature, which left Revan with scars on her lower back (since she was too embarrassed to go to a proper healer) and from then on they both hated Hoth, and even disliked the cold. Even after her memory loss, Jess had an unexplainable reluctance to go to Hoth, and still disliked the cold. ABILITIES/POWERS
1. She is able to sense the “will of the force”, and sees destined outcomes through the force. However, these destinies can be pretty vague and have to be interpreted by Jess herself.
2. Jess has an incredible amount of patience, mostly because she can see the humour in almost every situation and she doesn’t mind waiting if she is amused in the meantime.
3. She is a skilled warrior with double blades, both lightsaber(red and yellow) and vibroblades. She can handle herself in hand to hand combat too.
4. If she truly wants something, almost nothing will stop her from reaching her goals, and she is not above using any powers possible or playing dirty if it is convenient for her. However, this rarely happens as she is cocky enough to believe she can do most things with half her effort.
5. Jess is very good at swoop racing and is NOT afraid of going fast. Mostly cause she doesn’t care if she hits anything on the way.
6. She is also a pretty skilled mechanic, she can fix any swoop bike and do small repairs/improvements on ships and other machinery.
RESTRICTIONS
1. Because she thinks she can sense the “will of the force”, she often blames the force for stuff that she alone is to blame for. She also uses it as an excuse, which is infuriating for her friends.
2. She strongly believes that people do not change; they can only realize potentials or go ‘off track’ on their destiny. If people change drastically, they either have always been like that without realizing or they are just plain wrong. So, if she has made her mind up about you, she rarely ever changes her perspective. For example: in her opinion, Bastila’s true destiny was being a jedi, so she was not very concerned when she ‘turned to the dark side’.
3. This makes her very stubborn and stuck in her thinking. Once you get to know her, she is actually pretty predictable and sometimes really frustrating.
4. Jess is really arrogant and believes she is practically unbeatable, and that her ideals/ideas are always right. She cannot wrap her head around being wrong about something or someone.
5. She cannot cook for shit, which is why she likes making soups best (can’t burn that!)
6. Jess gets.. ‘moods’. These ‘moods’ are difficult to describe but the best similar thing I know is PMS, but different and very aggressive. During these moods, everything feels wrong and she’s like a spring full of tension about to jump up and blind someone. It’s like an accumulation of all the wrong things in her life (and there are A LOT) that sometimes just needs to… get out. She usually solves them by getting into a fight or physically destroying something, and then just waiting for it to get out of her system. Nobody really knows where these moods come from or how to solve them in a nonviolent way, but meditating with Jolee seems to lessen the aggression a little.
FAVOURITES
Food: Creamed Rishi corn soup (there is a lot of food on wookieepedia omg)
Pizza topping: Peppers
Colour: Red!
Music genre: Electronic Dance Music    F.E.M.M. would be her fave artists
Movie genre: Heist movies or like... fast & furious stuff
Curse words: Jess is one of those casual cursers who doesn’t even think about it anymore. So her fav is probably just “kriff” which she uses every other sentence. However, being around Mission (and Bastila tbh) would make her more cautious with her cursing. She also definitely picked up some Mando’a curses from Canderous.
Scents: The scent swoop bikes leave behind after speeding away, Kashyyyk after a rainy day, the smokey smell that’s present in the shady part of bars, the oily smell at the work bench, the black tea she likes to drink with Juhani. FUN STUFF
Bottom or top: Top but she also doesn’t mind switching
Sings in the shower: No, she absolutely hates her singing voice even after assurations from her friends that it’s fine. She doesn’t mind her normal talking voice anymore, but singing is just too deep and masculine and wrong and not her.
Likes puns: Yes. The worse the better. She would have the worst shit-eating grin on her face after telling one and she wouldn’t be able to stop herself from smiling.

Niima Outpost seemed to be the only center of civilization for miles. It was that much less civilized now that the main proprietor, a large Crolute, lay dead just outside his stand.
Lightsaber slashes and burns were the tell-tale sign that Rey and her Knights were there.
The Dark Side of the Force impregnated the collapsed structure.
Ben stood back at a distance, neither participating in the slaughter nor interfering. It was not his place to dispute his wife’s form of justice upon the being who caused her so much pain and humiliation. He could not blame her; he only pitied the scavengers who had so little that they sold their souls along with their bodies in hopes of receiving meager portions day after day under the fierce sun.
Rey sighed in relief. Unkar Plutt would never enslave anyone else ever again. She and her sisters just ruined the Jakku economy, but she hoped that between her marriage and the treaty either the First Order or the New Republic would take an interest in the planet. Due to the secrets she knew were hiding in the sands, she vastly preferred the former option, but even the Republic’s pathetic democratic ideals would be an improvement over Plutt’s hardhearted, iron clad control over the black market.
The Plaintive Hand plateau, in the Valley of the Eremite past the Goazon Badlands’ interminable sands, was their next destination; the Imperial and Rebellion ship remnants and skeletons became much more numerous the farther they headed away from Niima Outpost, indicating they were headed in the correct direction.
Rey always knew there was something hiding in the desert, beyond her capabilities as a mere scavenger to find. She bided her time, asked questions where she could, and snuck data from the First Order’s archives when she was certain she would not be caught. The Empire died and was reborn above Jakku; Rey knew her parents had to be there for a reason.
The location for which they searched was nearly buried in the sand; turrets and cannons remained nearby, also buried and broken. It took both Rey and Falisa’s hand prints to open the ancient looking bunker door; the others had to use the Force to clear a path through the sand. Once they entered the hidden underground structure, they found octagonal hallways and a matching computer bank ravaged by both the sands of time and the desert; blood trailed lower into the structure, as if a struggle occurred below and someone crawled--or was dragged--upwards. The blood was crusted over, long ago dried in the heat and fetid air. No bodies remained, however; the bleeding person must have escaped, or been taken away.
“Something terrible happened here,” Ben said, looking back at Rey and her Knights. She was looking down at the floor, deep in thought.
“Something went wrong,” she said, her brow furrowed.
She knew her grandfather stored artifacts here, among other things. There were none left to adorn the bare, utilitarian walls, but she could feel the Dark Side energy’s remnants. The place practically resonated with it, sending a shiver up her spine. She could feel rage and power in the thrum of energy that went unused. This facility served more than just that purpose, however.
Rey passed through a hallway leading deeper underground, feeling the dark presences all the more strongly the further she went. Upon entering a larger chamber, she leaned over a bridge to look down upon a well filled with rocks and debris. The dark energy seemed to echo all around her, calling her downwards. Her hands grasped the bridge as she tried to contemplate what purpose these chambers must have served, and why her parents were on Jakku in the first place. The Empire’s last battle took place just above; why were they guarding this sanctum filled with dark energy?
Far behind her, in the main chamber or anteroom, Ben and Maeve were fiddling with the computer bank.
“These are ancient,” she said, licking her lips from the heat and dry air. Ben nodded. “They served some Imperial purpose, though.” He pushed his hair back from his face and attempted to get the system started.
Maeve examined the dusty tangle of cords and wires underneath, coughing as she accidentally blew dust in her face. She was the Knights of Ren’s slicer and technology expert; while Rey could fix anything mechanical and pilot anything, Falisa was the political strategist, Oona was the seductress, Riona their muscle, Keeva an expert in languages and martial arts, and Fionnuala the best at battle mediation and healing.
Emerging from underneath the computer desks covered in dust and grime, Maeve eyed Ben again. “Everything looks connected and ready under there,” she said, coming around the bank to peer over his shoulder. He was entering manual command inputs with no success.
“My lady?” Keeva called down the hallway to the deep chamber where Rey had gone. When she did not respond, Keeva turned to Falisa. “Should we go check on her?”
Falisa’s red eyes flashed. “We would know if something had befallen her. Still, perhaps she could use assistance in her explorations. Take Oona with you. We will remain here for now.” She turned her eyes back to Ben, who pretended not to notice as he brushed his hair off his face once more.
Rey had sat down on the bridge, sinking into a deep meditation. The answers danced before her eyes and mind, too quick for her to catch, always on the tip of her tongue. She heard a man screaming, dark artifacts laughing as he fell and became the catalyst for something. But for what? Grandfather, help me, she wanted to scream. She wanted to scream and lash out and destroy the entirety of Jakku. Let it all burn, let it all know Rey Palpatine’s wrath. She was no longer no one, abandoned and worthless, merely a scavenger trying to survive. She found her place and would press every advantage, use every drop of strength and energy within her to make sure no one would ever face her fate again. She was wrath, she was vengeance, she was a desert fire, holy and pure in the dark.
Her anger burned through her swiftly and surely, turning to her frustrations’ most recent source. Surely her destiny was far greater than what Snoke had given her so far. A mere apprentice, lashed forever to a Light Side smuggler? She and her Knights could do so much more for the galaxy than stand mere sentinels while the New Republic attempted to bring democracy to the Western Reaches.
You are the Contingency, a woman’s voice whispered to her from the depths below.
“Mother?” Rey asked, but there was no one there. Her vision swam and her fingers grasped the shadows, finding nothing. The spectral figure she thought she saw was gone.
The demesne is clear, the board swept clean; a new demesne must be made, said a man, who appeared to be standing next to her, looking down towards the well. He wore a crisp white uniform, unblemished by the sand and dust. His posture was military, but his accent betrayed him; Rey knew him instantly for someone who had grown up on Jakku.
Rey blinked, and the scene changed. Your Empire is gone. I have killed it. You have friends. You aren't alone. Let's call them to us, shall we? the man continued, struggling with someone who Rey could not make out in her vision’s haze.
The ghosts of the Empire past remained here, angry and ambitious.
It's come to this, then? Death on a dead world. You've driven us all to the edge of the galaxy. To the edge of everything.
That voice was unmistakably Grand Admiral Sloane’s, Rey realized. She needed to have another talk with her. She needed answers. Where were the answers?
Ben and Maeve succeeded in turning on the computer bank, which displayed schematics for a ship and a set of coordinates in the Unknown Regions when Rey emerged from the depths with Keeva and Oona, looking as though she was in a trance. She walked arm in arm with Riona back to their ship, saying hardly anything to any of the Knights or Ben before collapsing onto her bunk, her hand pressed over her face, searching the depths of her mind and the twisting sands for what she knew had to be there.
