Han an extremely pleasant dream where I want to this tavern/gambling place (which skewed much further towards tavern) & there was an arcade game there being discontinued, which motivated this extremely lucky/talented grifter who was basically viewed as a very minor deity within it's walls to want to retire & thus he strong-armed me under his wing as an apprentice/successor to his role within the tavern, pulling me over to a game that was starting & advising me that I should "stick mirrors where they can't be seen, and be nosy" when I came back.

I spent most of the time reading the little booklet for the game, trying to figure out the rules 'cause it honestly seemed just like a pamphlet about historical dress for a female military group & listening in on the interpersonal drama of the other players. After I had heard most of the interpersonal drama, grifter dude told me that the point of the game was actually to stack the cards in an approximation of an item of clothing described in the pamphlet. I did so, and also interfered in the personal drama of one of the players and her girlfriend, and proceeded to slowly develop the parasocial role within the tavern community that I had been tapped as an apprentice to fulfill.

Last thing I did before I woke up was effortlessly start & manage a little forge thing that was there as decoration, to the delight of the other patrons & the grifter who took me on as his apprentice.

#honestly seemed like an extremely fun dream world & I hope my subconcious brings me there again #naturally of course it was much more expansive In the dream.#like for instance the player & her girlfriend #player wanted to win because she could potentially be granted an audience with a mysterious owner of the tavern #and could from there potentially be granted a boon. which she wanted because she felt insecure about her girlfriend's feelings #in their current living situation #the girlfriend didn't want her to win because she wanted them to take a realistic approach to getting back on their feet #also the barkeep explained to me that dedicated players are entitled to a small portion of the candy/food/etc purchased with the money #that they lose betting #also there is of course some nonsense #like there was a whole bit about stuffed animals almost concurrent to the forge business

if you are in the US and are at risk of unwanted pregnancy, you should buy mifepristone immediately while it's still legal to mail so you can have it on hand just in case (it should keep for about 2 years). the future of this method of medication abortion is seriously at risk. it is very important that you are prepared for a worst case scenario

Okay I'm a little afraid to post this because of how ridiculous the discourse is right now, but I figured I'd ask anyway.

I am NOT looking to discuss politics or current events on this post.

Can anyone recommend to me reputable, fact-based resources (ideally books, articles, or websites) that can help me learn more about Palestinian history and culture? Pretty much everything I have ever learned about the Palestinian people has been in the context of the conflict with Jews and with Israel, and I would really love to know what is unique to their culture and who they are separate and apart from the conflict. When I've gone looking for this myself I've found: (1) lots of materials that define them as one half of a conflict and only discussing them in those terms, (2) lots of materials that function as Zionist propaganda that erases their history, connection to the land, and unique culture, and (3) lots of materials that function as Anti-Zionist propaganda that demonize Israelis and/or totally erase Jewish history and delegitimize Jewish connections to the land.

I just want to know more about, idk, if they have a specific dialect of Arabic, or the history of their beautiful textile art, their naming culture, music trends, or their olive orchard cultivation. Idk, anything that doesn't involve explosives and bloodshed.

I refuse to accept a political narrative that erases the humanity of Palestinians or their neighbors, but I don't know enough about Palestinians as people and want to fix that.

I think it says a lot that one of the measures the Writers' Guild proposal that was rejected by studios and streaming services was the mere notion that 'hey, AI-generated content shouldn't be considered/given the same platform as original written content'

Almost like for all the 'spitting on a cupcake and telling people that its frosting' that AI Bros have been doing about 'oh, AI Art and ChatGPT are going to democratize art and help creators~' was all bullshit and has just been further feeding into dehumanizing human creative work.

Ohio's current voting maps are fucked!

The maps that were used in Ohio's 2022 election were ruled unconstitutional by the Ohio Supreme Court. And were found to be gerrymandered in favor of the Republican party (surprise surprise).

So the government currently in charge of handling the East Palestine disaster was elected unconstitutionally! :)

Additional fun facts about Ohio's government! - A former members of said government's political party is currently on trail for corruption! - They slipped in a bill banning trans women from competing in school sports at 11:56 PM, putting it into an unrelated bill, so it couldn't be reviewed! (it was later shot down but they still used a shitty tactic to try and get it passed)

So yeah! Fuck the "Elect shitty people, live with the shitty results" attitude that's use to downplay and victim blame people living in rural, blue collar, "republican" states.

There is nothing to say, or rather there is far too much to say and I cannot find the words to say any of it.

But I will say, briefly, because there is a possibility this may actually be a useful reminder for someone: if you have Jewish friends — or others who may be being affected by what is happening in Israel — please consider reaching out and checking in to see how they're doing.

It can feel awkward, I know. I am, myself, The Worst at reaching out. Sometimes you don't know what to say. (Literally something as simple as "Just wanted to check in to see how you're doing" can mean a lot.) Or you don't want to bring uo upsetting topics. (We're already upset, I assure you, it won't be your fault.) Or you don't want to pressure them to correspond at a time when they're already potentially overwhelmed. (That's a very thoughtful concern... and you can tell them exactly that.)

Please reach out anyway. Let the people in your life know that you're there, that you care, that you are if nothing else aware.

Because it's hard, when your world has been shaken, and your loved ones are in danger or in mourning, and the people all around you are apparently living in a completely different world where nothing at all has happened.

#dungeon meshi #tumatawart #Im not into/this isnt kabrin I just think as childhood friends they would have had more dialog since basically all their shared scenes #are just plot exposition. They dont have much of a dynamic/chemistry at all despite their long history. So Rins crush seems rather baseless #I dont see how Kabru views her as an older sister... He doesnt really rely on her except for 1 bit in the earlier chapters #Where everyone shows off their skills and what they know about the current situation. But it doesnt really happen again #I dont think a play-by-play of their lives is needed but with their contrasting personalities I was expecting a bit more banter #And since Kabru is so skilled at combat and reading people hed understand Rin's typical fighting style and play off of that. OR SOMETHING.#Then again he doesnt have much banter with his party in general. Sigh #I haven't done a reread yet so Im probably missing a few things 😞 Im sorry. I ❤️ you Rin
