Latar Belakang

Brahmastaji didedikasikan sebagai penyuara peringatan atas proses penghancuran sistematis nilai -nilai budaya, suku, spiritual kepercayaan, status sosial masyarakat adat, berikut nilai-nilai ajaran kearifan istiadat yang bersifat khas berdaulat atas hak ulayat.

Bangsamu, dalam bahaya "Kulturisida"! Berawal dari indikasi kecaman yang kuat dan kontroversial guna membenturkan kelompok masyarakat, semuanya terbelah, saling curiga lalu pemetaan perang identitas dimulai. Nantinya secara gradual akan muncul "kawin mawin" paksa berujung pada rekruitmen. Terjadi perubahan sikap perilaku pola yang memaksa percakapan ke dalam bentuk komunikasi baru, penamaan, penggunaan bahasa, serta aksara.

Berbagai adat istiadat dan keunikan masyarakat Nias bisa di jumpai jika berkunjung ke sini. Salah satu budaya yang paling populer di sana adalah lompat batu Nias. Adegan seorang pria yang melompati batu ini pernah muncul dalam salah satu seri uang kertas Indonesia. Tradisi lompat batu Nias oleh masyarakat setempat dikenal dengan istilah hombo batu atau fahombo. Batu yang sudah disusun setinggi 2 meter dengan ketebalan 40 sentimeter harus dilompati oleh semua pemuda Nias yang sudah dianggap dewasa. Di Pulau Nias, ketika seorang pria sudah berhasil melakukan fahombo, maka ia sudah matang secara fisik dan kelak akan menjadi samu’i mbanua atau la’imba hor seandainya muncul konflik dengan warga desa lain. Keluarga dari pemuda yang berhasil melompati batu, biasanya akan menyembelih beberapa ekor ternak sebagai bentuk rasa syukur atas keberhasilan putranya.
