The Ancient Egyptian Roots of Christianity by Moustafa Gadalla
“This book reveals the Ancient Egyptian roots of Christianity, both historically and spiritually. This Expanded Version of the book consists of three parts to coincide with the terms of trinity. The first part demonstrates that the major biblical ancestors of the biblical Jesus are all Ancient Egyptian prominent characters. The second part demonstrates that the accounts of the “historical Jesus” are based entirely on the life and death of the Egyptian Pharaoh, Twt/Tut-Ankh-Amen. The third part demonstrates that the “Jesus of Faith” and the Christian tenets are all Egyptian in origin—such as the essence of the teachings/message, the creation of the universe and man (according to the Book of Genesis), as well as the religious holidays. The very thing that is now called the Christian religion was already in existence in Ancient Egypt, long before the adoption of the New Testament. The British Egyptologist, Sir E. A. Wallis Budge, wrote in his book, The Gods of the Egyptians [1969],The new religion (Christianity) which was preached there by St. Mark and his immediate followers, in all essentials so closely resembled that which was the outcome of the worship of Osiris, Isis, and Horus. The similarities, noted by Budge and everyone who has compared the Egyptian Osiris/Isis/ Horus allegory to the Gospel story, are striking. Both accounts are practically the same, e.g. the supernatural conception, the divine birth, the struggles against the enemy in the wilderness, and the resurrection from the dead to eternal life. The main difference between the “two versions”, is that the Gospel tale is considered historical and the Osiris/Isis/Horus cycle is an allegory. The spiritual message of the Ancient Egyptian Osiris/Isis/Horus allegory and the Christian revelation is exactly the same. The British scholar A.N. Wilson pointed out in his book, Jesus:The Jesus of History and the Christ of Faith are two separate beings, with very different stories. It is difficult enough to reconstruct the first, and in the attempt we are likely to do irreparable harm to the second. This book will demonstrate that the “Jesus of History”, the ”Jesus of Faith”, and the tenets of Christianity are all Ancient Egyptian. This will be done without causing any “irreparable harm” as per A.N. Wilson’s concern, for two main reasons: Firstly, the truth must be told. Secondly, explaining Christian tenets via their original Ancient Egyptian contexts will enhance the idealism of Christianity. This Expanded Version of the book consists of three parts to coincide with the terms of trinity—the Three that are Two that are One.The first part demonstrates that the major biblical ancestors of the biblical Jesus are all Ancient Egyptian prominent individuals. The second part demonstrates that the accounts of the “historical Jesus” are based entirely on the life and death of the Egyptian Pharaoh, Twt/Tut- Ankh-Amen.The third part demonstrates that the “Jesus of Faith” and the Christian tenets are all Egyptian in origin—such as the essence of the teachings/message, the creation of the universe and man (according to the Book of Genesis), as well as the religious holidays. There is an undeniable irony and a profound, deep, undeniable truth in Hosea’s prophetic saying, Out of Egypt have I called my Son. A deep irony indeed.Let us open our minds and review the available evidence. For the truth is a composite of different and complementary pieces of a puzzle. Let us put the pieces in the right location, time and order.”

GOYIM AND KABBALAH
Look. This is going to be one of the most difficult things I’ve ever tried to explain because my very being- my opus- is involved.
As I sit under the light of the full moon, back to the tree in my front yard, the very pulse of earth is moving within me. I am accutely aware of which trees have sprung from the seeds planted by the parent tree at my back. The night is still and yet it’s teeming with life. It is Ru’ahh- the breath of G-d I feel moving through all things but how did this happen? At what point did I become aware of Her presence and abandon all else on my journey? Where is the line between Christian and Jew in my mind? At what point did I cease to be Catholic?
The library unearthed at Nag Hammadi completely changed my perspective on the life and message of Christ. His own promise of the gift of Ru’ahh HakoDesh sent me within. After all, didn’t He urge us to sit in a closet and pray? Then a Rosicrucian text written in 1923 quoted the Gospel of Peace 30 years before its “discovery.”
Years of meditation- constant recital of the 72 triplets- later and The Chymical Wedding of Christian Rosenkreutz was given to me. A Frater from my order handed me his personal copy full of annotations and footnotes. This seemingly simple doctrine follows a similar pattern of the one found in the Apocalypse of John, what Christians know as Revelations. In it he speaks of communing with Sophia- Solomons Woman Wisdom. This mystical experience is one I recognized instantly having long since meditated in Her presence. I sought Her like silver just as Solomon suggested and found Her within.
Anyways, as I read of Christian Rosenkreutz taking this spiritual journey I couldn’t help but notice how blended the Rosicrucian path actually is. Here is a doctrine where the spiritual journey is divided into a seven day journey-referencing Genesis- to attend a Wedding on an evening before Easter- referencing, not only the Gospels, but the Wedding at Cana as well. It’s Alchemical in nature urging us to remember Hermès teachings and alludes to Platos Cave- the metaphysics behind Greek philosophy. He cuts the bread. That only happens in 9 books of the New Testament. There are also 9 Lords in attendance at this Wedding.
Genesis is tied into the story as a way to connect the dots between these seemingly different paths- all of which lead to One. “G-d said” appears 10 times. “G-d made” appears 3 times. “G-d saw” appears 7 times. The word G-d is used 12 times. 10 sefirot. 3 horizontal paths. 7 vertical paths. 12 diagonal paths. This is the Tree of Life. It serves as the basic framework for how Christian Rosenkreutz made it to this Castle- what I understand as a mountain Temple- to commune with the Creator.
There are Four Paths mentioned that one can take to achieve this goal. Couple that with several references meant to imply a connection between the Emerald Tablet and the Tree of Life and it’s no wonder I set out to understand why. Why would a Christian mystic explain how movement from Yesod, Hod, and Netzach moving from below to above correlates to the three step process of the Emerald Tablet? I mean, even the first day of Rosenkreutz journey ends painting the 4 step descent, 3 step ascent, and the one step re-descent. Why? What do the Emerald Tablet and Kabbalah have to do with what Christ taught? The question drove me mad.
The Wedding at Cana was the first of 7 miracles to be taken as signs of the Messiah. Specifically, the lawful Union of man and woman- or the reconciliation of polarity. The same polarity reconciled after 6 days of Creation through use of duality described in Genesis. It’s an allegory. Christ was teaching us how to reconcile our seemingly dualistic nature. The changing of water into wine implies the integration of our vehicles of consciousness- body and mind, waking mind and Spirit.
Even the number of disciplines outlined by Rosenkreutz isn’t merely a play on the 12 disciples. It’s 12 disciplines in three groups of four. Emanation, Creation, Formation, and Action. There’s no getting around going from below to above requires merkava- vehicles of consciousness. At the level of Assiah/Action, it’s easy to see this vehicle because we touch, taste, see, smell and hear with it, but as we move beyond that it gets decidedly more difficult. When we approach Atzilut/Emanation where we have no vehicle of consciousness because we are consciousness, what then? Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh. That same “I am” that manifests in the first word of the 10 commandments is the Divine expressing itself in the metaphor of Creature. That was Sophia/Chochmah manifesting within. Years of meditating at the Temple within my heart had taught me to trust the breath of G-d beyond anything else.
There was no escaping this truth. Prayer. Meditation. Study. Living a simple life. All of these disciplines had moved me to a place where I needed guidance. The Hermeticists of my order had much more in common with the Sorcerers of Kemet- Biblical Egyptians- than they did with those faithful to the Law. What could the descendants of Isis cults who genuinely believe we can reach the point of being gods teach me about ascending to the throne room of the one true G-d? Nothing.
Now I never abandoned Christ in all this. Even as I dove into deep meditative periods with heavy study almost never touching the Bible- Christian Rosenkreutz bridegroom I was still aware of how Christ is involved. See, if Chochmah/Wisdom is waves of energy, Binah/Understanding is form. With Christ as my template- the One manifested in the World of Formation- I chose to live in love. To be “the light that shone in the darkness.” But what Church would understand this journey? What Christian could hear this tale and not label me a heretic? Aside from one Anglican priest I had been completely isolated from the entire realm of Christianity.
So I did the only thing I could do. I turned to the source of this Ancient Mystery and joined a Kabbalah study group. I am a Gentile amidst the Chosen seeking Wisdom above all. Am I treated differently within the confines of said group? No. I came to this path after decades of prayer and meditation and it is doubtful this is the first lifetime I have spent in such a manner. I didn’t wake up yesterday and say “let me jack this culture and make it my own.” They know that because mystics are measured on what’s within more than they’ll ever be measured by appearance, race, or…
Trust and believe that every post I write comes from a place of love and I never intended to hurt or offend anyone. Mysticism had never been a game or a fad to me. This life cycle is one of dedication and servitude to G-d and humanity. That is the fulfillment of the Law- to love G-d with all of my mind and soul and to love my neighbor as I love myself. Humility may not always be my strong suit but my approachability runs high. You can always reach out to me with questions and ask why or how. Even in the mix of frustration I will gladly address anyone with the respect and dignity I would like to receive. Hehe. To receive.
That’s all I got.

Ok, it's time for my crack Locked Tomb interpretation that I've promised... the two people I've been reading these books with. I will say first, the theory isn't itself a crack theory--in its general form I actually stand by it as a serious prediction. But some of the textual evidence I'm going to use is way out there, so don’t take this too seriously--I certainly don’t. Spoilers for Gideon the Ninth and Harrow the Ninth behind the cut. Sorry it’s long.
Ok, first, the theory, simply put: I think Alecto/AL is a Resurrection Beast. Personally, I found this "insight" fairly uncontroversial the moment the thought occurred to me, but one of my two friends who've been reading these books with me disagrees on the basic evidence; the other friend has embraced it wholeheartedly, though. So, ymmv, I guess.
The basic evidence starts with: well, what the hell else could she be? She's not human. The older Lyctors call her a monster. There is a missing Resurrection Beast: nine were born, five were killed, three are loose, and the narrative actually calls attention to this numeric discrepancy while glossing others (e.g. the number of Lyctors, which does eventually get explained). John presumably can't just kill Resurrection Beasts himself, or he would have (maybe?? who the hell even knows what his abilities or grand plan are at this point). There aren't really other monsters that have been presented other than revenants (of which Resurrection Beasts are the biggest) and heralds (which are spiritually part of Resurrection Beasts), and the third book of a trilogy isn't really the time to introduce them. (This, by the way, is also my argument that it wasn't aliens who destroyed the solar system in the first place--even though everyone else seems to have come to that interpretation (where by “everyone” I mean my two friends who have read this book). Being Doylist, it's kind of a cheap, lazy argument on my part, but whatever, I still stand by that as a prediction: no aliens.) And Alecto must be something much more powerful than a human because John is so much more powerful than a Lyctor. Finally, the stoma opens for John, and it only opens for Resurrection Beasts--it opens for him because he holds part of Alecto's soul and she is a Resurrection Beast.
The potential counter-evidence is the older Lyctors are confident they know her origins (but that doesn't necessarily make her not a Resurrection Beast), and the [other] Resurrection Beasts are drawn to her as much as to John according to Mercy (although in that case why haven't they attacked the Tomb? and also, again, that doesn't preclude her being a Resurrection Beast--we don't know their relationships with each other, and anyway, their attraction to her might have something to do with the Lyctorification process).
Ok, all that's fair enough. Let's delve into the crack interpretations now. I'm going to start with an irrelevant introduction, though, to explain my frame of mind when I came up with this. In the Appendices of Gideon the Ninth, Muir mentions that Isaac is named as foreshadowing for Gideon's sacrificial death, as in the Christian interpretation of the Bible, the Biblical Isaac foreshadows Jesus. My copy of the e-book did not have the Appendices, but my best friend's did, and she shared screens with me. It's slightly embarrassing that my best friend and I, reading this together, did not even guess from this, not even as a joke, that Gideon's father might be God. I mean, it's not... generally embarrassing--no one reading this should be embarrassed for themselves--it's only embarrassing if you know the two of us, know how good my best friend is at this sort of thing (she guessed the entire murder mystery in GtN a little more than halfway through, including that Dulcinea was dead and had been replaced by a Lyctor in disguise who had philosophical problems with God and was rebelling), and know what sorts of in-jokes and ridiculous speculation we tend to bandy around with each other--know just how often we, respectively and together, joke that some character or other is Jesus. And here it was right on the page, we read it out loud to each other and discussed it, and we didn't even see it. We were both completely taken in by the Gideon Episode One red[-haired] herring (as was, to be fair, Gideon himself). This speculation that I'm about to present came right on the heels of the two of us debriefing over this, because I was primed to read way the hell in too much into Biblical references.
The key line is something my best friend caught, not me. She wasn't even done with the book yet, but the line was bothering her (I'd completely glossed and then forgotten it--never let it be said that my bad grades in English Lit were undeserved). Page 327 (and I'm so glad to have an ebook so I can do word searches), Teacher is talking to Harrow in the dream bubble...........
To their silence, [Teacher] added: “I believe we are now being punished for what they did. Even the devil bent for God to put a leash around her neck … and the disciples were scared! I cannot blame them! I was terrified! But when the work was done—when I was finished, and so were they, and the new Lyctors found out the price—they bade him kill the saltwater creature before she could do them harm … Oh, but it is a tragedy, to be put in a box and laid to wait for the rest of time.
"Saltwater creature" stuck with my best friend. She had no idea what it meant, other than that nearly every mention of saltwater (or salt water, two words, the text is inconsistent) in Harrow the Ninth is alluding to Alecto in some capacity (we confirmed this by searching--again, I love ebooks for this kind of thing). But I was like... wait, I might know! This is my favorite Bible lore!
Muir is working from the King James Bible (based on the quotation at the end of Gideon the Ninth) which is impenetrable and also is a translation of the Latin Vulgate, which is mostly a translation of the Septuagint, which doesn’t even have an extant Hebrew version, so ugh all around. But for this purpose it’s close enough, so I guess that's what I'll use for my English version. Here is how the KJV starts:
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day. And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.
Ok, that word there, "the deep." What it says in the Masoretic text (the Hebrew Bible used by both Jews and Protestants) is "tehom," which is not quite a hapax legomenon, but neither is it a word that shows up very often, and importantly it only shows up in very few contexts that reference each other. It is certainly not the usual Hebrew word for sea, and importantly, in the Hebrew there is no "the"; it actually says "darkness was on the face of Tehom" like it's a proper name [capitalization mine for illustration, since Hebrew doesn’t capitalize]. Notice also how on the second day basically the only thing God accomplishes is cutting this thing, this "Deep" made of water, in half, sending one half up into the sky. This is a quick retelling of the defeat of Tiamat (linguistically cognate with Tehom) in the Enuma Elish. Tiamat, the Goddess of the Saltwater Deeps, Mother of Monsters and Dragons, is justifiably angry with the other gods and sets out to kill them; Marduk, the aspiring new head of the Pantheon, cuts her in half. Half of her he leaves on Earth to create the oceans (or just the Earth itself? been a while since I read it), and half of her he throws up into the air and it becomes the sky.
There is a lot of old Jewish writing, some of it predating Christianity, that just starts to touch on this, without daring to delve too deep (...as it were) and pull on the pan-Middle Eastern polytheistic roots of Judaism. (They had enough problems with people still worshiping Asherah, who in southern Canaanite tradition was the sea-and-mother goddess who was the wife of Yahweh the storm god, and who gets mentioned in the Bible a whole lot, without also bringing Tiamat into it.) The Gnostics really latched on, though. They said that this "deep" obviously in the text there predates God's creation, and used that as the foundation of quite a lot of their theological argument: that God (who they call the Demiurge) didn't create the universe ex nihilo (out of nothing) but rather that there was a being even more powerful that came before. And they named this more powerful, older being Bythos (among other things), which means "depth" in Greek. They changed the gender, but they brought Tehom the saltwater goddess back as the most primordial and powerful of all beings.
Bringing this back to Harrow the Ninth... Insofar as it's Biblical allegory (which isn't much--less than Narnia and even Narnia doesn't strictly adhere to Biblical narrative), I think we should take the Resurrection committed by John to be the Biblical Creation not the Biblical Resurrection. First of all, John becomes God by performing the Resurrection, which is a much better parallel to Genesis than to Isaiah or Revelations or whatever. Second of all, after the Biblical Resurrection, everyone who gets to be resurrected is supposed to live in eternal peace in Eden. In contrast, in Genesis, after the creation, people start out in Eden but are quickly expelled and then bad things happen. This matches the story much better, where the expulsion from Eden is due to Lyctorhood--the Resurrection Beasts come for the Lyctors and they have to leave Eden; in this respect, I guess John is really the snake as much as he's God, lol. (Worth noting that in some parts of Christian tradition--although I can't remember about Catholicism specifically--the snake is supposed to be Satan. This also ties back to Gnosticism where the Demiurge is malevolent; John, insofar as he did not actually create the universe on his own, is a much better match for a demiurge than a true god.)
So, anyway, taking John's act of Resurrecting all those people as the initial Creation rather than the Resurrection (the fact that Augustine doesn't remember his pre-Resurrection self, is effectively a new person, also points to this being effectively an initial Creation), the Resurrection Beasts actually come before Creation. They come from the dying of the planets. They predate John becoming God. Furthermore, Alecto is a “saltwater creature,” and she keeps her body after she's Lyctorified, meaning she's split in some way between John and her old body; she is Tehom. Back to the Gnostic idea, Tehom is a more-powerful being who predates God, and the only creatures predating God in Harrow are the Resurrection Beasts who must be comparable to him in power to create such fear: Alecto, then, must be a Resurection Beast.
The problem with this theory is it's a little Jewish and it's very Gnostic but it isn't Catholic. In the Gideon and Harrow, Muir draws references in her language from practically everywhere. But as far as I can tell she only draws allusions and allegory from two mythologies: Greco-Roman and Roman Catholic. And although Jews and Gnostics are drawing on a lot of the same source text, the  understanding is different, and the expansive side stories are different. Although, then again, who am I to say that Muir isn't also drawing on Gnosticism and this isn't our big clue; I've half convinced myself as I wrote this, with the whole John-as-Demiurge thing. It's a fun theory, anyway, and so I thought I'd share it.
(I'm aware that I've completely ignored any connection to Greek mythology, despite her name being Alecto.)

THE METAPHYSICAL MEANING OF EVE
From Wonderland To The Promise Land
The Bible says that the first mother was made from the rib of our first father, that G-d had made our first father complete. Then He forgot that the man had a lonely nature. Then G-d said: "Oh, I've got to make him a mate." Now, I'm not laughing at the Bible, I don't laugh at it. To tell you the truth, I respect it. But I'm giving it to you in this language so you can see the kind of childish ideas that we grown-ups have been holding on to. It says, He took a rib one rib from the man, and filled up the hole no ... it gives you the impression that it was just gouged out He's not even a good surgeon. He put the flesh that was taken out, back in its place just a patch-up job, a butcher's job—and then made the woman with this rib. What does that make the woman? It makes her a different creation from the man.
How can the Bible say, "Flesh of my flesh and bone of my bone?" How can she be flesh of his flesh, bone of his bone and she was just made from the bone? Just one bone. In the forming of human life in the womb of the mother, bones don't come first, flesh comes first. So if this woman is made from one bone she doesn't have the full value, the full human worth of the man. Right from the beginning the woman is put in an inferior image. If you don't believe that this is the trend; keep reading about the woman as her story is told from Genesis to Revelation. She becomes more and more ugly, inferior and wicked. I'll just name a few of the stars for you in the Bible: Eve, Jezebel, Delilah, Salome. We can look right into the language of the present environment and see that these evils, these destructive concepts in human ideas or in human minds are still hurting human development. They're still being preached and they're still hurting our human development. G-d gives us the most beautiful concept of the man that He creates. The man that He creates is a mind, a human mind—a rational and compassionate human mind; and from that mind is born, not a woman, but society. And the rib of the man simply tells us, in symbolism, that society was made from the man that G-d inspired called Adam in the Bible and that society had a law, a principle. Not many, but one.
The Bible says G-d made the woman from a rib of the man. Not from all of them, but from only one. This is symbolism, telling us that this generation or this genesis of the man that the Bible is telling us about is the story of the church. You may ask how can that be the story of the church when the Genesis was revealed and written long before Christ Jesus? But it was interpolated, interpretated, and changed, and reformed long after it was revealed. They formed it to speak the church doctrine, and the church doctrine says that Jesus gave only one commandment—that you should love ye one another. The scripture gives us the proper concept of man, that man should not be seen in the individual, the male or the female, or any single individual, but in the creation of society. Man should mean humanity and humanity includes both male and female; he or she is a part of a unit. The male has to mate with a female to reproduce his physical self. And the female has to mate with a male to reproduce her physical self. How can we see society as male and as female separated one from the other? And how can we think that the whole society was generated from one man called Adam? How can any sensible, intelligent people think that G-d made a man and then reached into his body and deformed that man after forming him rightly, and made a female of his rib? That looks like guesswork to me.
What do they call the tornadoes and the hurricanes—these terrible violent forces that make human beings fear for their very lives, that take away their houses and their cattle, destroy the hard earnings they have worked so hard for and built up in homes and businesses? These strong violent forces are called by the names of women. Isn't that proof that the same mentality exists. The mentality of the writer of the Bible is still existing. "Will you attack the writers of the Bible?"You don't want to see the contradiction. You don't want to see the ugliness in the Bible, so you suppress it. You push it out of your mind. But remember, every time you push something out of your mind, you're only pushing it out of your conscious mind. It goes into your subconscious and causes mental problems if the environment doesn't do something to bring about the kind of healthy change needed for you. We've been saying that G-d made man in his own image and likeness when we should have been saying that God intended humanity society to be in His image and likeness, character-wise or morally speaking. The scripture has meaning. The scripture can attract the rational mind, the logical thinker; the scripture can attract the shipbuilder, the banker, the chemist; it can attract all men if it's taken back to its original purity: if we just take off the false dress of poetry, mythology, symbolism and allegories that take us into wonderland instead of the promised land.
Community life must exist by both our excellent human form and by material development. At the base of our community problems are the religious formed habits of seeing life and the world through mythological eyes. When I say that I'm going to cross over Jordan one day, this clearly is not a religious expression. This is an expression colored or designed by the language of mythology. When I say that I'm going to a Kingdom in the skies, that's mythology; that's not pure religion. When I say that God is a Man of War, that's the language of mythology and not pure religion. When I say that G-d created man from the dust of the earth, formed him as a person, and created a mate for him with a rib taken from his body, that's the language of mythology and not pure religion. We have been given more mythology than we have been given religion, in terms of the language that we use. How can people clearly understand what religion is all about if they are using a language that is foreign to the purity of religion? They have to have a language that is consistent, that speaks clearly the word of truth that G-d revealed to His prophets.
The symbolic concepts that we have been given of first man, of first woman, of the creation, of the origin of the races, all of this is so heavily covered under mythological concepts, the beautiful symbolism of the poets, that we can't see the reality that should be influencing our lives. We don't get the beautiful language under the surface. We get socially destructive language. When you read the Bible, you read it literally, but the hints revealing the evil of the Bible are also given in it.The Bible says that a certain religious man took another man who is called Son of Man on a tour of the city to show him the extent that evil had grown in the society. He took him to the gate of the city and he told him. "Son of Man, look at the evil that these people are practicing inside the gates of this city." He took him to the courtyard of the Temple, "Look at the evil that these people are practicing right around the Temple." He said, "Come Son of Man, let me take you into the Temple." He took him into the sanctuary where there were the holiest of the holy, and there he found the abomination of abominations.
This is in the Bible, I didn't dream this up. The Bible states it, and it's not given as something that was presently existing. It's given in the Bible as a prophesy revealing what will come. And the Bible tells us of the last day; it says that the greatest evil will be in the Holy Sea. I'm not referring to the Catholic Church. It so happens that their sea is called Holy. I'm talking about the lake that God intended to be for religious life and religious development.
The Bible says that in the end that lake would be ruled by a beast. And G-d would destroy the beast in the lake by turning it into a lake of fire. Haven't our church lives been turned into a lake of fire? Wasn't it once a cool water for us to bathe in, and now it has become a lake of fire burning the conscience of the great number of Christians who are looking for high sensation, and yet calling themselves church goers? Our conscience has almost been buried six feet and left without any sign of life in it. But there is still enough light in most of the American Christian lives to feel guilt occasionally.
Those Christians who really are sincere and are giving their best to be Christians are in a lake of fire. Their conscience is not only on fire because of the sins that they're doing, but, also because many ministers and priests are just changing the role of the preacher or the priest into a role of an opportunist, preaching money, preaching song and dance. They preach whatever they think will appeal to your need for high sensation. I know there is still the good preacher. But look at him today. Even he has gone back, he has fallen.I saw in one magazine where a Catholic priest was sitting down in a meditation position before the bare-bone skull of some animal it looked like it was a donkey. He was meditating and saying that he didn't see anything wrong with a priest doing that as long as he kept his Catholic religion. How is he going to keep his Catholic religion and give himself to that kind of pagan exercise? The Catholic is supposed to be dignified. Though the atmosphere was ghostly, they've always been dignified. We've seen them bring in the bands, bring in the electronic . . . acid . . rock. Long ago the Christian churches turned themselves into bands.
You go to hear the preacher and you're wondering when he's going to preach. He comes up and says, "Amen." Amen is said when we finish something. He finishes before he starts. And then the choir begins to sing, and he just comes in to build the momentum up again. As soon as he gets the momentum up he says, "Have you got the feeling . . . have you got the feeling?" And somebody says, "Yeah." And the band starts again. I'm talking about the great majority of the churches in America.Where are we going to go if we only crave for sensation and don't want any sense? I thought that the correct definition for the human being is homo sapien thinking individual. I thought that's what separated us from apes and other creatures. If we're not going to think but give ourselves to sensation, to the influences in the air, then where will our lives be that G-d Created? Religion teaches the Christian, Muslim and Jew that God created the human being to be a thinking being.
Let's look at some of the so-called religious concepts. And they are religious concepts, but in the composition that we get them they are more concepts of fiction, fantasy, and mythology than religion. We're told that the world was made out of a void. There was nothing but water, and light rose, out of the water and formed the sun, moon and stars. This is the kind of ideas religious people have been given of the creation of the world. What kind of picture is this giving us of Almighty G-d? It's giving us a kindergarten story of Almighty G-d. Those who view G-d this way see Him with nostrils, and some Bibles show G-d with nostrils and breath coming out of His mouth flowing down to the people. If you ask most Christians how did man get on the earth, "Well, G-d made him." G-d made him from what? "The Bible says, from clay." Notice when they get in trouble it's always the Bible says. . . ." They will start off speaking from themselves, but the more trouble they get into the more they refer you to the Bible.

What about marriage? Is a civil wedding ceremony required by God?
×What is marriage?
*The Bible definition and description of marriage hasn’t changed in over 3500 years since Moses received revelation and commandment from God. But, mankind has changed many opinions, practices, and traditions about marriage during that time. Sometimes, it’s a good idea to go back to the Bible and see what it says.
*I used to think a signed civil marriage certificate was required for a marriage to be acceptable to God. I used to think anyone living in a “marriage relationship” without a signed civil marriage certificate was living in sin. And, in early 20th century heartland America, maybe that might have been kind of true in a way.
*But, then real life intruded on my naive thinking…
*I know a dear Hindu couple who met each other, fell in love, got engaged, and were married in San Jose. Since they were devout Hindus, they had both a California civil wedding and a traditional Hindu religious wedding. Then they flew to Germany, where they each had dual German/Indian citizenship, for a German civil wedding and a Hindu religious wedding in the Hindu community that had been their home before immigrating to the USA. Then they flew to their native India for a civil wedding ceremony and then they drove to her hometown for a Hindu religious wedding ceremony with her family and drove to his hometown for a Hindu religious wedding ceremony with his family. Seven weddings!
*I feel like the Sadducees, who tempted Jesus Christ with the question about the woman with seven husbands (Matthew 22; Mark 12; Luke 20), when I ask, “Which wedding made them married in God’s eyes?” I’m sure Jesus Christ would answer this question just like he answered their question.
•Jesus replied, “Your mistake is that you don’t know the Scriptures, and you don’t know the power of God.
-Matthew 22:29
*Which wedding did Jesus describe as “joined together by God”?
•Some Pharisees came to test him. They asked, “Can a husband divorce his wife?” Jesus answered them, “What command did Moses give you?” They said, “Moses allowed a man to give his wife a written notice to divorce her.” Jesus said to them, “He wrote this command for you because you’re heartless. But God made them male and female in the beginning, at creation. That’s why a man will leave his father and mother and will remain united with his wife, and the two will be one. So they are no longer two but one. Therefore, don’t let anyone separate what God has joined together.”
-Mark 10:2-9 GWT
*Which wedding did Isaac and Rebekah have?
•Isaac took her into his mother Sarah’s tent. He married Rebekah. She became his wife, and he loved her. So Isaac was comforted after his mother’s death.
-Genesis 24:67 GWT
*Which wedding was the Apostle Paul describing?
•So I don’t want you to have any concerns. An unmarried man is concerned about the things of the Lord, [that is,] about how he can please the Lord. But the married man is concerned about earthly things, [that is,] about how he can please his wife. His attention is divided. An unmarried woman or a virgin is concerned about the Lord’s things so that she may be holy in body and in spirit. But the married woman is concerned about earthly things, [that is,] about how she can please her husband.
-1 Corinthians 7:32-34 GWT
*Maybe the wedding that God accepts is the one that is used as an allegory for the relationship of the Lord Jesus Christ with his bride…
•Husbands, love your wives as Christ loved the church and gave his life for it. He did this to make the church holy by cleansing it, washing it using water along with spoken words. Then he could present it to himself as a glorious church, without any kind of stain or wrinkle-holy and without faults. So husbands must love their wives as they love their own bodies. A man who loves his wife loves himself. No one ever hated his own body. Instead, he feeds and takes care of it, as Christ takes care of the church. We are parts of his body. That’s why a man will leave his father and mother and be united with his wife, and the two will be one. This is a great mystery. (I’m talking about Christ’s relationship to the church.) But every husband must love his wife as he loves himself, and wives should respect their husbands.
-Ephesians 5:25-33 GWT
*Christians have always answered to a higher authority on matters of morality, ethics, honesty, charity, and love than the laws of the land. Maybe this is true of marriage. Maybe Christian marriage answers to a higher authority than a civil marriage certificate.
•In the same way let your light shine in front of people. Then they will see the good that you do and praise your Father in heaven.
-Matthew 5:16
•Dear friends, I warn you as “temporary residents and foreigners” to keep away from worldly desires that wage war against your very souls. Be careful to live properly among your unbelieving neighbors. Then even if they accuse you of doing wrong, they will see your honorable behavior, and they will give honor to God when he judges the world.
-1 Peter 2:11-12 NLT
*This kind of marriage requires a permanent commitment. It is not to be entered on a whim, it is not to be taken lightly, and it is not to be dissolved at will…
•So the LORD God caused him to fall into a deep sleep. While the man was sleeping, the LORD God took out one of the man’s ribs and closed up the flesh at that place. Then the LORD God formed a woman from the rib that he had taken from the man. He brought her to the man. The man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh. She will be named [woman] because she was taken from man.” That is why a man will leave his father and mother and will be united with his wife, and they will become one flesh. The man and his wife were both naked, but they weren’t ashamed of it.
-Genesis 2:21-25 GWT
•Wives, in a similar way, place yourselves under your husbands’ authority. Some husbands may not obey God’s word. Their wives could win these men [for Christ] by the way they live without saying anything. Their husbands would see how pure and reverent their lives are. Wives must not let their beauty be something external. Beauty doesn’t come from hairstyles, gold jewelry, or clothes. Rather, beauty is something internal that can’t be destroyed. Beauty expresses itself in a gentle and quiet attitude which God considers precious. After all, this is how holy women who had confidence in God expressed their beauty in the past. They placed themselves under their husband’s authority as Sarah did. Sarah obeyed Abraham and spoke to him respectfully. You became Sarah’s daughters by not letting anything make you afraid to do good.
-1 Peter 3:1-6 GWT
•Husbands, in a similar way, live with your wives with understanding since they are weaker than you are. Honor your wives as those who share God’s life-giving kindness so that nothing will interfere with your prayers.
-1 Peter 3:7 GWT
•Don’t you realize, brothers and sisters, that laws have power over people only as long as they are alive? (I’m speaking to people who are familiar with Moses’ Teachings.) For example, a married woman is bound by law to her husband as long as he is alive. But if her husband dies, that marriage law is no longer in effect for her. So if she marries another man while her husband is still alive, she will be called an adulterer. But if her husband dies, she is free from this law, so she is not committing adultery if she marries another man.
-Romans 7:1-3 GWT
•Marriage is honorable in every way, so husbands and wives should be faithful to each other. God will judge those who commit sexual sins, especially those who commit adultery.
-Hebrews 13:4 GWT
*Disobeying God by trifling with the marriage relationship is serious…
•Someone may say, “I’m allowed to do anything,” but not everything is helpful. I’m allowed to do anything, but I won’t allow anything to gain control over my life. Food is for the stomach, and the stomach is for food, but God will put an end to both of them. However, the body is not for sexual sin but for the Lord, and the Lord is for the body. God raised the Lord, and by his power God will also raise us. Don’t you realize that your bodies are parts of Christ’s body? Should I take the parts of Christ’s body and make them parts of a prostitute’s body? That’s unthinkable! Don’t you realize that the person who unites himself with a prostitute becomes one body with her? God says, “The two will be one.” However, the person who unites himself with the Lord becomes one spirit with him.
-1 Corinthians 6:12-17 GWT
•Stay away from sexual sins. Other sins that people commit don’t affect their bodies the same way sexual sins do. People who sin sexually sin against their own bodies. Don’t you know that your body is a temple that belongs to the Holy Spirit? The Holy Spirit, whom you received from God, lives in you. You don’t belong to yourselves. You were bought for a price. So bring glory to God in the way you use your body.
-1 Corinthians 6:18-20 GWT
•There are many believers, especially converts from Judaism, who are rebellious. They speak nonsense and deceive people. They must be silenced because they are ruining whole families by teaching what they shouldn’t teach. This is the shameful way they make money. Even one of their own prophets said, “Cretans are always liars, savage animals, and lazy gluttons.” That statement is true. For this reason, sharply correct believers so that they continue to have faith that is alive and well. They shouldn’t pay attention to Jewish myths or commands given by people who are always rejecting the truth. Everything is clean to those who are clean. But nothing is clean to corrupt unbelievers. Indeed, their minds and their consciences are corrupted. They claim to know God, but they deny him by what they do. They are detestable, disobedient, and unfit to do anything good.
-Titus 1:10-16 GWT
•If anyone doesn’t take care of his own relatives, especially his immediate family, he has denied the Christian faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
-1 Timothy 5:8 GWT

“Mekagojira no gyakushu” or Terror of Mechagodzilla (1975)
Literal translation “Mechagodzilla’s Counterattack,” while some West German prints call it “King Kong-Godzilla: Die Brut des Teufels” (or “King Kong-Godzilla: The brood of the devil,” demonstrating that they still needed to learn about reproduction) and Mexico called it simply “Mecakong.”
A few films ago the writer said they had run out of ideas for kaijû stories and we ended up with Son of Godzilla. This feels like they really have run out of ideas, as it’s basically a re-staging of the last film, with none of those pesky requirements of ‘metaphor’ or ‘allegory’ to get in the way of smashing stuff to bits.
Okay, that’s uncharitable, there is a story to be found here, and it’s engaging, but at its foundation this is the last film once again, using the same enemy force, the same (albeit rebuilt) enemy kaijû, the same force for good, and some of the same actors. There won’t be another Godzilla film until Godzilla 1985 (unsurprisingly released in 1985) and that’s not altogether a bad thing.

New cover illustration by Chris Wisnia — — — —
We start with the good bits from the last film, showing the revelation of Mechagodzilla’s disguising itself as Godzilla, then the destruction of the interloper by The King of Monsters*. Consider it a use of the story-telling technique “in last week’s episode…”
Akihiko Hirata is here (once more without an eye-patch) playing a scientist who has experimented with the idea of controlling animals. Thus we see the criticism that ‘your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could that they didn't stop to think if they should.’ We’ll see it a few more times in films, but this may be the first time in my lifetime; previous uses include The Island of Dr Moreau and any other references to the biblical ‘tree of life’ from the Book of Genesis.
Never mind the philosophical defensibility of the control of other beasts’ impulses, there’s the fact that this story clearly conflicts with the one of the immediately previous film, despite the fact that it simultaneously requires the existence of the previous one for its main plot point: Mechagodzilla has been rebuilt and improved upon so that it can now defeat Godzilla and make the planet safe for the villains to populate and organize as they see fit.
However… consider this:
According to the backstory, Professor Shinzô Mafune [Akihiko Hirata] was banished from the scientific community because he claimed to have discovered dinosaurs and found a way to control them. This happened 15–20 years prior to the movie's plot, but by then, several dinosaurs and other strange monsters, including two Godzillas, have wreaked havoc in Japan, so why would [his] discovery of yet another giant dinosaur be dismissed as nonsense? Further, since they have caused so much destruction, it would make more sense to let Mafune continue in his studies to be able to control them, rather than banish him. — IMDb [link]
Also consider this:
In the previous movie, the aliens had to find and kidnap Professor Hideto Miyajima [played by Akihiko Hirata] to help them. However, this movie establishes that they have been working together with another scientist for several years [Professor Shinzô Mafune, also played by Akihiko Hirata], thereby retroactively causing a plot hole between the two films. — IMDb [link]
So… As much as I sympathize with the idea that an actor must always say “yes” to the offering of a role (always potentially the last one which will bring them income), it’s incumbent upon the filmmaker to remember what they just did in another film. If, for instance, you were creating a ‘re-boot’ of the fictional spy “The Saint,” it would be daft to cast previous performers of the Simon Templar role — Ian Ogilvy (Return of the Saint, 1978–79) and Roger Moore (The Saint, 1962–69) — as antagonists foiling the efforts of ‘The Saint’ to bring good to the world. And yet, that very thing actually happened (and I liked it, despite the inappropriate casting), so perhaps this is merely a case of one ‘ignoring the logic and just cheering on Godzilla as he beats-up other monsters.’
That illogic aside, we’re in good hands, as ‘the Father of Godzilla,’ Ishiro Honda directs what will be the final entry in the “Showa Films” of Godzilla!

‘Titanosaurus’ or ‘Chitanozaurusu’ (played by Katsumi Nimiamoto) in “Mekagojira no gyakushu” (1975) — — — —
The head of Mechagodzilla is being sought by an INTERPOL exploration submarine (don’t ask, we have no explanation about this, so let’s not go there). Suddenly, a giant seahorse destroys it, revealing the existence of ‘Titanosaurus’ or ‘Chitanozaurusu’ (played by Katsumi Nimiamoto). This is the first anyone has heard of dinosaurs coming to life (thereby ignoring the last >15 films and the entirely accepted existence of Godzilla himself, never mind Anguirus who… [:: heavy sigh ::] forget it), so they are perplexed. A marine biologist on the task force to discover the cause of this recalls someone who researched experimental controlling of animals, and wonders if their findings can be used to control this newly-identified threat.
An investigative agent of INTERPOL (driving either a Trans-Am or Firebird as an official car, complete with a shield on the door) and the marine biologist go to the Professor’s home and enquire about his whereabouts. His daughter says that he died five years ago and she has destroyed the materials he accumulated over the years doing his research, even after he was fired by the institute where he worked.
However, he is very much alive, and has created this Titanosaurus, which he alone controls! Meanwhile, he is under the thrall of some aliens who have been directing his research for the last decade or so, having saved his daughter from certain death by replacing her failed innards with electronic components, thereby making him indebted to them. Now, having proven the effectiveness of his Titanosaurus, they direct his efforts to finishing the improvement of Mechagodzilla, with the addition of a thinking brain to make the beast impermeable. Simultaneously, the aliens place the controls for Mechagodzilla in the body of the daughter, making her the source of the beast’s attack, as well as an additional reason for the Professor to work with them.
Tumblr media
As INTERPOL Agents all look the same from behind, I’m merely guessing that this is Agent Jiro Murakoshi (Katsumasa Uchida) as he approaches the alien base’s inner door in “Mekagojira no gyakushu” (1975) — — — —
This notion of the creation of a processor for Mechagodzilla’s inner workings which uses living tissue evokes the old question of ‘Technology vs Human Soul.’ Can a machine have the same thoughts and values as a human? What makes a ‘soul’ and can a robot be said to be in possession of one, even potentially? There’s a love story in the film, with the biologist from the INTERPOL team falling for the evil scientist’s daughter, despite the fact she’s at least ½-cyborg. He tells her “You’re a human being. You have the warmest heart of anyone I know,” directly contradicting the earlier statement of one of the aliens that her heart, being entirely mechanical, is the coldest one in the world and will always be so. Despite being part of the aliens’ plans, she does what she can to thwart them, as well as provide clues to assist INTERPOL’s efforts to save the world. Ultimately, it is her personal sacrifice which is foremost in the successful campaign to save the world, thereby proving that she is, indeed, a compassionate being.
Much of this is daft, most of it is low-budget but well-employed to hide the fact, the recycled footage is very intelligently used in those instances where they exist, and most of the most far-fetched aspects of the story are forgivable. It’s a splendid romp with which to end this run of films.

The Justice of the Judgment of God?
I received a very thoughtful question the other day, and I want to use it to take the opportunity to address this issue more broadly:
I really hope you will answer this for me. One of the reasons I rejected creationism and embraced evolutionism was that is allowed me to disregard the notion that God would drown millions of people, which of course would include children, and simple say that the flood story was allegory only with no basis in reality. But now that I have re-embraced creationism, what am I to do? And how do you handle verses where God commands the killing of entire peoples and the smashing of babies onto rocks?
I appreciate your question and the spirit in which it was written. I won’t be able to provide you with a knock-down open-and-shut answer. But I hope I can make some notes which assist in thinking about the problem. I will begin by questioning the capacity of theistic evolution to truly deal with this problem, and then I will close by commenting on the problem itself.
1. In some ways, I don’t know how the theistic evolutionist has any advantage over the creationist here. After all, even if one believes that every instance of judgment in the Bible is pure allegory, it remains a fact that there are many who suffer and die today, including those who suffer and die unjustly. Unless one wishes to radically transform one’s doctrine of God, one is going to have to account for this reality whether or not one thinks the biblical instances of judgment are historical. The Bible provides a complex picture of suffering, one which is in many cases an instance of judgment and in other cases is not. That complex picture remains in force today. God continues to judge the world.
2. Moreover, in some ways the theistic evolutionist makes the problem worse, in that there are millions of years of intense animal suffering and death even prior to the coming of man- thus, human responsibility cannot be appealed to, even indirectly. So while it might help to solve a problem one has over divine judgment in Scripture, it ultimately can provide no more absolute answers to the problem, and even worsens it in key respects.
3. Most theistic evolutionists limit their conception of pure allegory to Genesis 1-11, while acknowledging the basic historicity of the rest of the Bible. Even if the entire OT is dismissed, as is done by liberal evangelicals such as Peter Enns and Kenton Sparks, one still has to deal with the NT. As I have studied OT and NT together, it has impressed me how little of a gap there actually is. We often perceive a gap because we expect to perceive one. But there are many words of love, forgiveness, and loving one’s enemies throughout the OT, especially in the prophets and Proverbs. It is a myth that Gentiles are left out of the OT story- not only does one find righteous Gentiles and witness to the Gentiles at every point along the biblical story, but the conversion of the nations is a major aspect of the prophetic hope.
By the same token, the NT is filled with words of judgment. The Lord Jesus prophesied against Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives, and in prophesying against Jerusalem, He drew upon the rich treasure of such language found in the OT- including language found in the Pentateuch and Joshua against the Canaanites. Jesus warned that Jerusalem would be destroyed like Jericho was destroyed. Not one stone left upon another. St. Paul repeats this warning throughout his epistles, and in my view, the Revelation of St. John (chapters 1-19) is about this as well, with Babylon the Great being Jerusalem, which is symbolically called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified. (Revelation 11:8). So when we read historical accounts of what happened in AD 70, we understand from the New Testament that what occurred was brought by Jesus against those who had rebelled against Him. Over a million people came into Jerusalem for Passover, and then the Romans surrounded the city, locked them in, and torched the whole thing. Hundreds of thousands died, including women and children.
Now, my point in saying all this is not to say that the problem is also solved by its presence in the NT, but that it is impossible to isolate the problem and target small portions for allegorization. This is part of the biblical vision of God.
We do understand, however, that God is not wrathful in the same way that He is love. These are not ontologically equal. There is a sense in which judgment, not mercy, is God’s “strange work.” This is because everything of who and what God is has been eternally manifested within the life of the Trinity. The creation of the world is so that this world might be incorporated into the eternal life of the Trinity. And God has certainly not been wrathful towards the other Divine Persons. So what, theologically, does one say about God’s wrath? We say that God’s wrath is not a timeless energy of God in the sense that God’s love, faithfulness and mercy are timeless energies. Instead, we understand that the wrath of God is a real, but contingent expression of the divine energies that is always and everywhere directed towards love of the creation. Even the eternal exile of Satan and the damned from the kingdom of God is for the sake of the perfection and beauty of the creation- no unclean thing may enter it.
Now, as far as the problem itself goes. Again, I do not claim to have neatly solved the issue. It is an issue I continue to meditate on. And it’s important to keep in mind that while we must affirm that every action of God in Scripture is just, we do not have to assert that we know in what way every action of God in Scripture is just. There is no shame in saying “I don’t know how to understand this action of God, but I trust that there is a reason. This is part of the biblical understanding of faith- faith not understood as blind belief in the face of evidence, but faith in the sense that God has established Himself as trustworthy by His faithfulness to us and to the world in His Son, so that we trust His goodness even when we do not fully understand it. While I do not claim to have perfectly solved this problem, I believe we can make notes that lessen its force and point us to a solution.
1. To begin with the conquest of Canaan. We have to understand what Ezekiel said: Israel is in the center of the world. This was true in both a symbolic, liturgical sense (the temple is the joy of the whole earth) but also in a literal, cultural sense: the land of Israel was at the commercial center of the ancient world, and trade routes from across the international order would converge there. This was done so that Israel might function as light of the world. And while Israel was unfaithful for much of its history, Israel did fulfill that calling in important ways. The alliances of David and Solomon with the surrounding nations seeded them with cultural knowledge and developments which were essential for creating the world as it stood at the time of Christ. I have discussed this in more detail in my article here. What this means is that the culture existing in the land of Israel is the culture which would flow out and impact the rest of the world. What God told Noah in Genesis 9 is that He would never again destroy the world by flood, but He would cut the sin of man off from its youth. He then gives Noah the authority to carry out the death penalty in order to preserve the social order from widespread decay, and Noah prophesies the death penalty for the Canaanites at the end of Genesis 9- but in Genesis 15, we are told that the Canaanites have not yet reached the full measure of their iniquity. Not yet, God says. I will say more about this aspect below.
When God does carry out the death penalty against Canaan, it is even then for the sake of the world. Because Canaan was at the center of the world, its culture would flow out to the rest of the world. In other words, the disease is contagious, as it was before the Flood. And if the contagion was left in Canaan, the entire world would have been corrupted and cursed- perpetuating the creation-destroying impact of sin. Instead of leaving Canaan be, God annihilated Canaan and put Israel there instead. In so doing, God pushed blessing into the world rather than curse, molding and shaping the nations so that they would be fully prepared and primed for the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.
2. God not only announced what He was going to do to Canaan, but offered a chance for salvation. This is a major part of the story of the patriarchal narratives. When we are told that Abram set up altars and “called out the Name of the Lord”, this includes a prophetic ministry of evangelization. Indeed, the patriarchal period is the third, prophetic stage of the Noahic world- just as the period after the return from Babylon is the third, prophetic stage of the Mosaic world. This is why there are so many similarities between the two periods- for example, Daniel is a New Joseph who is cast into a pit but elevated to the right hand of the king. Umberto Cassuto points out that Genesis 12 does not refer to people whom Abram purchased in Haran- but rather refers to souls whom Abram “made” in Haran. Thus, in Genesis 14, Abram has 318 fighting men, probably around 3,000 men total. That is why, after all, the king of Egypt asked to see Abram when he entered. Abram was no wandering nomad. He was a prince. And he was carrying out missionary work in the land- God reveals Himself to Philistines in Genesis 20, and the Philistines convert and are blessed. The same is true of Jacob in Shechem. The Shechemites decide to become circumcised and part of the family- that is why Simeon and Levi’s murder of Shechem is so utterly wicked. Jacob tells them it made him a “stench” to the people of the land, destroying his effort to minister to the Gentiles.
But that’s not the last word in Genesis: Jacob had become a stench, but Joseph is taken to Egypt in an incense caravan. And Pharaoh makes him his right-hand man and proclaims that the “Spirit of Holy God” is in him- not “the spirit of the holy gods” as some translations falsely render it. All the nations flow to Egypt to receive food from Joseph. So when we hear that the iniquities of the Canaanites were not yet full in Genesis 15, that doesn’t mean that God is sitting, waiting for them to make enough rope to hang themselves with. Rather, there are loads of Canaanites who are still righteous and attach themselves to Abraham’s family. The same happens at the exodus- God says to Pharaoh that He brings plagues so that “my name might be made known in all the Earth”, and when the exodus happens, a “mixed multitude” comes out with Israel- all are circumcised together in Joshua 5. And then in Joshua itself, we still see some Canaanites converting. The story of Rahab the Canaanite is linked with the story of Achan the Israelite- Rahab, a prostitute, is given restored tokens of virginity in the scarlet thread (this isn’t just a guess, this is a big theme which I will explain another time) and given an inheritance in Israel- a lifetime of sins are washed away by one act of repentance. This is the merciful God. And Achan is punished the same way the Canaanites are. It shows that God is no respecter of persons. The Gibeonites craftily avoid the herem by deception- but this is not wicked. This is how far they were willing to go to become part of the covenant- compare how the Canaanite woman craftily debated Jesus about food from the master’s table, and was blessed. The Gibeonites were given the high honor of serving the Lord’s house.
I know you asked about the flood. So why am I going on about this? I’m going on about it is because I feel that part of the problem people have with this issue is that they perceive that the God of the Old Testament is acting arbitrarily and nationalistically. That is, He kills the Canaanites because they are Canaanites and not Israelites. They never had a chance. But the OT teaches the opposite throughout. God gave them chance after chance. When Rahab saves the spies, she does so because she has heard of the mighty works of God in Egypt. Everybody had heard what happened to Egypt. It had utterly collapsed. They knew, as Pharaoh’s counselors did, that this was the finger of God. And they still raised their blade against Him. What the story of Rahab shows is that they could have been blessed and brought into the family with a moment’s repentance. Throughout the Scriptures, repentance is signified by dust and ashes- symbolic death. So indeed, all Canaanites would have to die. But some would die by repentance. Others by the sword. I suspect that there were other Canaanites, whose stories are not told, who converted as well.
3. One thing which unites the story of the Flood and the story of the conquest of Canaan is the theme of the Nephilim giants. In the Scriptures as I understand them, a Nephilim is a human being ritually consecrated to the service of Satan- Satan possesses them through his demons and grants them superhuman strength. Such strength is a feature of demonic possession in Scripture and in the modern world. Genesis 6 calls them “mighty men”, a word which refers to conquest in Scripture. The house of Seth feared the military might of the sons of Cain, and they became even worse by allying with the Devil. They gained the world, but lost their soul. In 1 Samuel 16-17, David first fights off an evil spirit tormenting Saul with his harp, then fights off the Nephilim Goliath- according to Joshua 11:22, there were Nephilim-giants in Gath. David’s fight is not merely against flesh and blood- but against the rulers and authorities, against the cosmic powers of that dark age. This links closely demonic torment with the Nephilim.
Likewise, when Israel fears entering the land, whom do they fear? They fear the Nephilim:
(Numbers 13:33)  And there we saw the Nephilim (the sons of Anak, who come from the Nephilim), and we seemed to ourselves like grasshoppers, and so we seemed to them."
Michael Heiser has made a very interesting point. He has pointed out that if you track the places where Israel is commanded to destroy all people- men, women, and children, it is only in those places where there are Nephilim. See his book The Unseen Realm for the detailed proof of this. I believe this goes some way in helping to illumine this problem. Those people whom Israel destroyed were those who were ritually consecrated to the Devil. I am not claiming that this solves entirely the problem, but that it sheds critical light on what precisely was going on. The same narrative of the coming of the Nephilim immediately precedes the annunciation of the Flood in Genesis 6:1-4.
4. We are told in Exodus 23:28 that God sent swarms of hornets ahead of Israel into Canaan. Now, if you lived in an ancient house, there wasn’t any closing of your windows. If there were swarms of hornets ravaging the land, you leave. This is especially so if you actually care about your family. We can conclude from this that the vast majority of people who were left were those who were there solely to attack the God of Israel and His people- or who were there because they were kept there by others. We simply are not told enough about the world before the flood to know precisely what did happen. We do know that Enoch carried out a prophetic ministry, one that is compared to Elijah’s- and one thing Elijah did is to gather a righteous remnant from an apostate culture- a remnant which was viciously persecuted by the apostates. Understanding that God works typologically, I strongly suspect that this happened before the Flood.
5. As Peter Leithart points out, when the typology of the conquest is used in Isaiah, it is a typology of liberation. The Second Joshua enters the land proclaiming liberty for the captives- He comes to destroy their oppressors. When we come to the Book of Joshua, we find, as noted above, that the real targets are those places with Nephilim- and also that most or all of the cities targeted are military fortress cities. The swarms of hornets that had been buzzing about for forty years undoubtedly would have driven much of the civilian population out as well, leaving a largely military presence and culture. And then we do find Gentiles converting in Joshua itself! Moreover, Gentile conversion is a major theme of the Book of Judges. The story of Judges opens with the Kenite Gentiles acquiring an inheritance through the Tribe of Judah, after which we are told that Othniel won a spring of water for his bride- and then we hear about the city of palms. That is an allusion to Exodus 15, where Israel comes to a place with twelve springs and seventy palms- twelve tribes of Israel water the seventy nations of the world. So the entire goal of the conquest of Canaan is to create a priestly nation at the heart of the ancient world who will provide light to the Gentiles.
I understand that your question was principally about the Flood, and I apologize if you feel that I did not deal with that directly enough. But the reason I focused so much energy on Joshua was because Genesis 1-11 is written in highly condensed narrative. There are many details that we are not told. But the language and context of the flood is applied extensively to the conquest of Canaan- for example, God’s decision to wipe out everything “in which is the breath of life” becomes God’s command to Israel to destroy “everything that breathes.” We ought to therefore understand that the way in which God fought against the Canaanites reveals the way He judges in general- including that supreme judgment on the “world that then was” in the Flood. The principal lesson I want people to understand about all of this is that whatever ethical problems one might have with the God of the Bible, He is not a respecter of persons. Not in the New Testament. And not in the Old Testament. God judges and blesses without regard to their nationality- if Israel behaved like Canaan, they would be destroyed just as Canaan.
As an addendum, I have found this article stimulating as well, and I appreciate its understanding of the depth and complexity of the problem:

The Two Golden Cherubim in Our Brains
by Moe | Meaning of Symbols | 5 comments
In my last article on the Tabernacle, I explained that the cherubim were the sacred guardians in the Holy of Holies, and it is
here  where we find the two golden cherubim.
Cherubim first appear in the Bible in the Garden of Eden, to guard the way to the Tree of life.  Cherubim are mentioned throughout the Old Testament, and once in the New Testament in reference to the mercy-seat of the Ark of the Covenant and as the golden guardians of the Holy of Holies.
In Genesis 3:24, the cherubim are placed by God, after the expulsion of Adam from the garden of Eden, at the east thereof, together with the flaming sword “to keep the way of the tree of life.” In their function as guardians of Paradise.
In the image to the above right, you can clearly see the shape of a skull, and the two cherubim on both the left and right that in exoteric science represents the hippocampus or ammon’s horn who guard the way to the Tree of life which would be our DNA.
The Garden of Eden is known as the primeval abode of man, and is the dwelling-place of God. This is further explained by by 33rd degree Freemasonic philosopher, Manly P. Hall who had written in the Initiates of the Flame;
“In the brain of man, between the wings of the kneeling cherubim, is the mercy-seat, and there man speaks with his God as the priest of the tabernacle spoke to the spirit of the Lord hovering between the wings of the Angels. Man is again the Ark, and within him are the three principles, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit—the tablets of the law, the pot of manna, and the rod that budded.”
Please notice how the image to the left shows the brain as if it is at top of a rod and has budded like a rose, flower or tree. This picture aligns perfectly with Manly P. Hall’s explanation above, and will also make more sense to you as I explain more below.
The flaming sword in Genesis, and double-edged sword of the Revelation of Saint John represents the mouth and the word of God that comes from the dwelling-place of God which is in our blood and brains. The allegory of the sword connected to the word of God, rather than an actual sword used for killing people is further explained in bible passages such as Hebrews. iv. 12: ” The word of God is quick and powerful (or living and energetic), sharper than any two-edged sword.” And in Hosea vi. 5, the word of God is said to destroy all his enemies; “Therefore have I hewn them by the prophets, I have slain them by the words of my mouth; And my judgments have been as the light when it goeth forth.” There are many more bible passages, the above two are just a small sample to prove my point.
The cherubim are the bearers and movers of the Divine throne as explained in the vision of Ezekiel (Ezekiel 1, with which compare Ezekiel 10). In chapter 1, the prophet designates them as “living creatures” (chayyoth); but upon hearing God’s words addressed to the “man clothed in linen” (Ezekiel 10:2) he perceives that the living creatures which he saw in the first vision were cherubim (Ezekiel 10:20); and in Ezekiel 9:3 the chariot or throne, from which the glory of God went up, is spoken of as a cherub.
The man clothed in linen has another hidden meaning that related to the human blood and word of God which is further described in Revelation 19:13: “He is dressed in clothing dipped in blood, and he is called the Word of God.” The man clothed in linen is a direct reference to how human blood holds are conscious. This is the reason that within 10 seconds of blood cut off to the brain, you lose complete consciousness, and when someones begins to bleed to death, their essential life force is drained from their bodies and they lose consciousness and die. The blood is our life force and the seat of our soul. The brain is our central computer processing unites that we use to think, reason and speak to God.
Back to the description of the cherubim…
The Roman-Jewish historian Josephus Flavius says: “The cherubim are winged creatures, but the form of them does not resemble that of any living creature seen by man.” All these various references that I mention above and to the cherubim indicate, their the nearness of God, or a sacred and secret spot out of the view of man, but within man.
This is further explained as I mentioned above by Manly P. Hall who had written; “In the brain of man, between the wings of the kneeling cherubim, is the mercy-seat, and there man speaks with his God as the priest of the tabernacle spoke to the spirit of the Lord hovering between the wings of the Angels.”
This esoteric view above by Hall describing the human body (solomon’s temple), blood, brain, and the two golden cherubim is described in the bible as acting as the chariot of the LORD in Ezekiel’s visions, the Books of Samuel, the parallel passages in the later Book of Chronicles, and passages in the early Psalms: “and he rode upon a cherub and did fly: and he was seen upon the wings of the wind”.
The four living creatures that support the throne of God displayed to Ezekiel a fourfold aspect; they had each the face of a man, the face of a lion, and the face of an ox; they also had the face of an eagle. They had each four wings; they had the hands of a man under their wings. “Two wings of every one were joined one to the other, and two covered their bodies.” They were accompanied by wheels which “went upon their four sides, and they turned not when they went”; “and their whole body, and their backs, and their hands, and their wings, and their wheels were full of eyes”; and the living creatures ran and returned as the appearance of a flash of lightning.”
This esoteric explanation we can witness today in modern science, with the wheels of our DNA, firing in the brain, and the memory powerhouse known as the hippocampus which I will briefly explain for you below.
And their wheels were full of eyes – DNA is often associated with spirals of energy as in “wheels (circles),” and what is known as rolling circle DNA replication and DNA supercoiling. This DNA process of unidirectional nucleic acid replication that can rapidly synthesize multiple copies of circular molecules of DNA or RNA, such as plasmids, the genomes of bacteriophages, and the circular RNA genome of viroids. Some eukaryotic viruses also replicate their DNA via a rolling circle mechanism. DNA supercoiling is important for DNA packaging within all cells, and reduces the space and allows for much more DNA to be packaged.(Wikipedia)
This explanation of DNA I have found, perfectly matches the description in Ezekiel of the cherubim accompanied by wheels. DNA is based purely upon mathematical principles. The mathematical equations and wheels in our DNA turns it into a biological supercomputer that feeds into the winged cherubim being our hippocampus.
The brain is the organ of the mind, which each portion of the brain has its own function to perform. The golden cherubim guarding the temple with the four wings would be our hippocampus which is considered the brain’s memory center. This image below shows the color of the hippocampus being somewhat of a yellow or golden color being compared to the Hippocampus kuda, also known as the common seahorse.
The ancient Greeks and Romans had attributed the seahorse with the sea god Poseidon/Neptune, and was considered a symbol of strength and power. The ancient Europeans believed that the seahorse carried the souls of the deceased into the underworld in order to give them safe passage and protection until they met their soul’s destination.
These stories from the biblical explanation of the two golden cherubim, the seahorse as a symbol of strength and power, and the relation to the seahorse being the carrier of souls for safe passage and protection all relate to one another.
The cherubim were at each end of the Ark of the Covenant, which contained the original stones on which God had engraven the ten commandments given to Moses and the children of Israel on Mount Horeb. Now that we know the cherubim allegorically represents our hippocampus, the original stones might also have a similar hidden esoteric meaning which I believe to also be the case in relating to a similar story being that of the philosopher’s stone.
This is further explained in Hebrews VIII where it was foretold by Jeremiah: “Behold the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah: not according to the covenant I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord. For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: And they shall not teach every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.”
The passage above makes it clear that saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts. This is a direct reference to our minds and hearts which would further validate that this is a story about gnosis, and the alchemical science of our blood, brain and hippocampus.
In Ezekiel, it is mentioned that there was an appearance of a flash of lightning which we can compare to science by comparing our brains to this description where we find the firing rates of neurons in the hippocampal regions relating to past memories. A type of internal lightening blasts that forms vibrations in our bodies for us to recognize past memories or past life recall, which an in tune human can use to tap into in order further evolve by his seventh sense, and his or her soul. Scientists are now finding out that the firing in the brain can arise from intrinsic hippocampal dynamic processing of previous inputs. In simple terms, that this firing action is a type of built-in intuitive and memory center to help animals “remember.” The image below is of a real brain with the appearance of flashes of lightning.
In a previous article I explained how the Hebrew alphabet is made up of 22 letters, which was created to compose the Word of God. The word of God is called a lamp (Psalms 119:105, Proverbs 6:22), and the light by which we are to live. This we can compare to the fire. The word light is found 264 times in Scripture. When 264 is divided by 12 (divine authority) we have twenty-two, which represents light. In the gospel of John, the word light is repeated 22 times, and on 22nd time, John quotes Jesus: “I have come as a light into the world . . .” (John 12:46).
The number 22 would represent the stone structures that describe the bones of the skull, of which there are twenty-two. This is where we receive the light and are illuminated, or enlightened beings.
In the rear compartment of our skulls, or Holy of Holies is called “the oracle.” This is our brain which transmits our blood and DNA through our organs.  Beneath this skull and brain are the aqueducts, passages, and tanks once used for the proper drainage and use of the Temple. The Temple being our bodies with the aqueducts, passages, and tanks consisting of our blood, veins and organs.
The esoteric biblical explanation relates to the science above, when it was said that upon completion of the dedication of the Tabernacle, the Voice of God spoke to Moses “from between the Cherubim”. (Numbers 7:89). This symbolizes the gnosis we receive within our minds and into the firing of our brains through our hippocampus which is referred to above as the Voice of God spoke to Moses “from between the Cherubim.”

Thanks Moe for a great article. I became a Christian over 50 years ago and after questioning and seeking truth of the bible the entire time became aware that the bible was a book of Neurotheology about 3 years ago. The journey into the study of the human brain and nerve system has changed my entire life and the meaning of you shall the truth and be set free from bondage. Moe to me there are two types of blood in the body, the one red blood that gives life to the fleshly Soul body and the Cerebrospineal fluid that gives life to the Spiritual I Am BRAIN and nerve system. The bible call’s the C.S.F. the river of living water that is produced in the 4 ventricles by means of the cloroid plexus which filters red blood into the C.S.F. that surrounds the brain and spine. The witness of the blood and water of 1st John. To me that is where true baptism takes place in the true temple at Calvary, the place of the skull. Revelation 22:1-5 Also I could be wrong but the Sphenoid face bone is the ARK of the Covenant where man comes face to face with God. It fits the description of 1st Kings 6;27 and looks like a owl which is said to be all knowing and can see 360 degrees when desired. It is the seat for the Pituitary gland which has 2 lobes and looks like 2 tablets of stone. The Pineal and Pituitary glands supply 10 hormones to feed the body for both physical and spiritual life, the 10 commandments that gives life thru the spine, the Rod of Arron. One more thing, the Sphenoid bone has 8 hole openings and are called the Foramen. Revelation 3;14 & 21:21-27 and the gates shall not be shut for the AMEN. Peace and blessing always
HI Moe. Always enjoy your articles. Just finished reading an interesting article at Gnostic Teachings called the ‘The Secret of Azoth’. Here the Flaming Sword is described as:That flaming sword ז is what we need the raise upon our ו spine. That flaming sword is the serpent of Kundalini. https://gnosticteachings.org/courses/alchemy/3363-the-secret-of-azoth.html
This video is also a great reference to explain Brain anatomy & the Ark:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UIkoVsmVK9A&list=PLXC76gx–dxiV0aHdUy5QUAIoZfmvDDUg
Interesting although convoluted explanations. But why is Ezekiel’s observation in scripture described by Ezekiel, in his own words as more of a literal observation of an event that he witnessed upon the earth with his own eyes?
Squint 20/20/20 on February 19, 2020 at 11:14 am Reply
It is literal, in the metaphysical sense.
The hippocampus is divine in its on right. The place of memory (I AM).. Agreed! The pineal gland though, is the third eye, since it has every component of an actual eye. It also has tiny crystal fibers within it, which hence the thousand petal lotus or christ consciousness, also being Christ as the alchemical Crystal. Even in Genesis 32:30 Jacob called the place peniel because he seen God face to face. Also in the new testament it is stated that the greatest in the Kingdom is the smallest (like a mustard seed)…. The pineal gland is small. Jesus told Peter he will build his church on a rock, that is the pineal gland that became harden like stone (philosophers stone).. When the sandy substance around the pineal gland hardens, that is Jesus liken someone to a wise man, who built his house on a rock. When a storm comes and try to beat it to and fro it doesn;t budge. The mind has light! When the eye be single the whole body will be filled with light (photons).

A Message to all Seventh Day and Sunday Sabbath Keepers
The Old Testament is a direct account of history with God  leading the Nation of Israel out of Egypt. We can reference both positive as well as negative occurrences throughout God’s dealing with the Nation.
Romans 15:4, “For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.”
When Moses gave the people all the words spoken by God on Mount Sinaikgkgk, the people’s reaction seems to be positive.
Exodus 19:8, and all the people answered together, and said, “All that the Lord hath spoken, we will do.”
The people had a heart for God, they were willing to be obedient to whatever God said, and they were all in agreement. However, when we reference the Apostle Paul’s statement in Hebrews the third chapter, he says that God was not pleased with them.
Hebrews 3:7, “Wherefore (as the Holy Spirit saith, “Today, if you hear His voice, 8, Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness: 9, when your fathers tempted Me, proved Me, and saw My works forty years. 10, Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, “They do always err in their heart; and they have not known My ways. 11. So I sware in My wrath, They shall not enter into My rest).”
God says that He was very displeased with them. But why? To understand why they never enter into God’s rest and why that generation never made it to the promised land, we need to go back and trace whatever evidence Scripture shows us. In this case, the evidence leads us back to the beginning, the Garden of Eden.
Back to the Beginning
When we read of the story of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, we need to understand that Adam sinned by disobedience and Eve was deceived by the Serpent. When this happened, the Tree of Life was closed to them as well as to the rest of mankind born into this world. They had rejected God and took allegiance with Satan, the God of this world, 2nd Corinthians 4:4. Since then, everyone born into this world has within them, the nature of Satan, we can call the Serpentine nature. That is the fundamental reason why we all have a death sentence placed upon us, Roman’s 5:12. Satan’s nature which is a mixture of good as well as evil, is not a pure nature which was available to them if they had taken of the Tree of Life. This Tree of Life we read of, will be closed to mankind from the third chapter of Genesis until we read of it in the Book of Revelation, chapter 22:2. Closed that is, with the exception of those to whom God calls directly, like Abraham, Genesis 12:1, or those who have a genuine love for Him. Why? Because our life and this creation is owned and paid for by God Himself.
To remedy the serpentine nature, gained within all men in the Garden, Moses speaks of a prophet who would be raised up:
Deuteronomy 18:15, “The Lord thy God will raise up unto thee a prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto Me, unto Him shall ye harken:”
The prophet raised up was Jesus, Who fulfilled the promised Seed of Genesis 3:15, was born of a virgin as we read in Isaiah 7:14, and would bring salvation to all people, Zechariah 9:9. These Scriptures point directly to Jesus Christ.
During the time of the Exodus, at the foot of Mount Sinai, the people had a heart for God when they said, “All that the Lord has spoken, we will do.” They were trying their best to keep God’s instruction, by honoring the Sabbath Day and other commands. But according to the Apostle Paul, they still fell short of God’s approval. Why? Because of the serpentine nature within them. The same nature that Adam and his wife Eve inherited from the Serpent in the Garden. Was that nature removed because they were keeping God’s Seventh Day or Sunday Sabbath? No! the nature of the self and all the fleshy works the Apostle Paul lists in Galatians 5:19-21 were still within them. The carnal mind and fleshy nature within all men as well as women cannot be removed by our trying to be commandment keepers. These lusts of the flesh are the reason God shows us why the people during the wandering were not satisfying to Him. Their serpentine nature followed right along with them, producing dead works.
Sabbaths Days Today
Even today, many among the 7th day Sabbath or Sunday Sabbath worshipers, although they have a love for God, and have many mighty works, and are zealous to advance God’s Kingdom to others, may fall short also. How? By being commandment keepers. By trying to keep God’s law with our own strength, and not realizing that we all have a nature within us that is not in harmony with our heavenly Father.

The Work of the Holy Spirit
In Luke’s gospel, there is an incident where the disciples of Jesus, James and John, were displeased because of the Samaritans treatment of Jesus.
Luke 9:54, And when His disciples, James and John saw this, they said, “Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did?” 55, But He turned and rebuked them, and said, “Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of.”
Their spirit, which wanted to destroy the Samaritans, was of the serpentine nature which was within them. It was this nature of the spirit within them that the Holy Spirit will work to eliminate, if allowed, not the keeping of any law. This nature has caused a curse on men from the time of the incident in the Garden of Eden. Men like to make rules and laws and want to pursue a lasting peace but because of their lack of knowledge will never be able. Now Jesus, as the promised Seed will disclose how there will be a remedy for the people.
John 4:23, “But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeked such to worship Him. 24, God is Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.”
The human body is composed with three parts, spirit, soul, and body, 1st Thessalonians 5:23. We can see the human body as the outward form of men and women. The soul, hidden within the body, houses the intellect gained from the world, or of Christ. Our spirit is the communicator between those who are of God, or those who are of the world. Which spirit leads us, the Holy Spirit of God, or the spirit of the world? James and John were disciples of Jesus, and yet, they needed to be rebuked by Jesus.
When Jesus told His disciples that He would suffer many things, as well as death, Peter rebuked Him:
For more visit : https://marcellorecords.com/biblical-topics/uncategorised/the-twofold-significance-of-mount-horeb-the-mountain-of-god/
Matthew 16:22, then Peter took him, and began to rebuke Him, saying, “Be it far from Thee, Lord: this shall not be unto Thee.” 23, And He turned and said unto Peter, “Get thee behind Me, Satan: thou art an offence to Me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.”
Is there any of the commandment keeping that would have caused a different attitude of James and John, as well as Peter? No, of course not. Their words that Jesus had to rebuke, came not from law breaking, but came through the serpentine nature within them. Removing the serpentine nature, inherited from Adam’s sin in the Garden, is the work of the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 16:24, then said Jesus unto His disciples, “If any man come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me. 25, For whosoever will save his life will lose it: and whosoever will loose his life for My sake will find it.”
Jesus here is teaching His disciples that the natural things within them, all the negative fleshy deeds we find in Galatians 5:19, which are hostile to God, need to be repented of, brought to our mind, and allow the work of the Holy Spirit to turn these thoughts and teachings to ashes, with His fiery law, Deuteronomy 33:2.
On Mount Sinai, God spoke His testimony for the people to know and understand the nature of the God Who led the people out of Egypt. He never wanted or intended the people to obey laws in which He knew they could never keep, Exodus 31:18. What God had given to Moses was the two tables of His spoken words, testifying of Himself as to the nature and character of the one who freed the people from the Egyptians.

Galatians 4:22, “For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman. 23, But He that was born of the bondwoman, was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman, was by promise. 24, Which things are an allegory; for these are the two covenants; the one from mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar (Hagar). 25, For this Agar (Hagar) is Mount Sinai in Arabia, and answered to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage to her children. 26, But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.”
Scriptures are telling us that if think we need to try and keep God’s law, we will fall short just as the bondwoman did and bring forth an Ishmael. But, on the other hand, if we are allowing God’s Holy Spirit to do its work in removing the serpentine nature within us, we are like Sarah, a free woman, in heavenly Jerusalem, rejoicing because we are, as Isaac was, are the children of promise,” verse 28. We read that there is a rest for God’s people, Hebrews 4:9-10. This rest will only be accomplished through the Spirit of the Lord.
2nd Corinthians 3:17, “Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty.”
Jesus Christ will see to it that we keep the law, even His Sabbath, because we rest in Him.

Read Your Bible: What is the Bible?
The Bible is the written Word of God. You must develop Confidence in the Greatest Book of All Time – the Bible.
Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
2 Peter 1:20, 21
1. The Bible is a prophetic revelation.
The Bible reveals the nature of God to man.  It explains the origin of man.  It gives meaning to man’s existence on earth.
It reveals the future destiny of all creation.  Above all, it reveals God’s merciful plan of redemption to us.
Knowing this first, that NO PROPHECY OF THE SCRIPTURE is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
2 Peter 1:20, 21
God, who at sundry times and in divers manners SPAKE IN TIME PAST UNTO THE FATHERS BY THE PROPHETS, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
Hebrews 1:1, 2
2. The Bible is the good news of salvation.
The gospel is the good news of Christ’s saving power for us.  The Bible is the only book that shows how man can be saved. The Bible contains His message of eternal salvation for all who believe in Christ, and eternal damnation for all who rebel against the gospel.
For I am not ashamed of THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
Romans 1:16
3. The Bible is God’s warning to us.
The Bible is not a discussion of ideas and theories.  It is an authoritative declaration of the facts.  The truths that are expounded are awesome and non-negotiable.  The aura surrounding the Bible is partly due to its authoritative and irrevocable truths.
Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.  For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense of reward;  HOW SHALL WE ESCAPE, IF WE NEGLECT SO GREAT SALVATION; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him; God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?
Hebrews 2:1-4
4. The Bible is full of words of inspiration.
This is what differentiates the Bible from every other book.  The Bible claims to have inspiration and motivation from God.  In other words, it was virtually written by God through the hands of mortal men.
All SCRIPTURE IS GIVEN BY INSPIRATION of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
2 Timothy 3:16
5. The Bible is a direct cutting message from God.
Thousands of people are converted when the simple truths of the Bible are shared.  I was changed by the Word of God when I encountered it.
For THE WORD OF GOD IS QUICK, AND POWERFUL, AND SHARPER than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Hebrews 4:12
6. The Bible is God’s wisdom for our prosperity.
God’s method for prosperity is not by clever ideas and human tricks.  It is through His Word.
This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: FOR THEN THOU SHALT MAKE THY WAY PROSPEROUS, and then thou shalt have good success.
Joshua 1:8
My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.  Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.  For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.
Proverbs 4:20-22
7. The Bible is the explanation for the origin of the creation, the earth, the sun, the moon, the stars  and the planets.
In the beginning GOD CREATED THE HEAVEN and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters
Genesis 1:1-2
8. The Bible gives the truth about the future, heaven, hell and eternity.
And I SAW THE DEAD, SMALL AND GREAT, STAND BEFORE GOD; and the books were opened:and another book was opened, which is the book of life:and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them:and they were judged every man according to their works.
And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
Revelation 20:12-15
9. The Bible is the explanation for the origin of the human race.
And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
Genesis 2:7
10. The Bible is the instruction manual for marriage.
WIVES, SUBMIT YOURSELVES unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. HUSBANDS, LOVE YOUR WIVES, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
Ephesians 5:22-25
11. The Bible is the good news about Jesus Christ.
The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of ALL THAT JESUS BEGAN BOTH TO DO AND TEACH, until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:
Acts 1:1-2
And they which were sent were of the Pharisees. And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, nor Elias, neither that prophet?
John 1:24-25
Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter;
Revelation 1:19
12. The Bible is the greatest book ever written.  It contains history, biography, poetry, proverbial sayings, hymns, letters, rules, laws, parables, riddles, allegories, prophecies, making it the most remarkable book ever written.
13. The Bible has 66 different books. Some of these books are considerably large whilst others are very short.
14. The Bible points out the sins of mankind.
And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them
Romans 1:28-32
15. The Bible is a wisdom book for life under the sun.
The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
Ecclesiastes 1:9
I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and, behold, all is vanity and vexation of spirit.
Ecclesiastes 1:14
Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;
Ecclesiastes 12:1
16. The Bible is used and is relevant in every country of the world.
It is a book which all races, nations, tribes, countries can relate to. It is not material which is adapted to any one nation or group of people.
And I took the little book out of the angel’s hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter.
And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many PEOPLES, AND NATIONS, AND TONGUES, AND KINGS.
Revelation 10:10-11
17. The Bible is used and has been relevant throughout the centuries.
Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.
Luke 21:33
18. The Bible is a powerful and life-changing book.
The Bible is not an amulet, a charm, a fetish, or anything to work wonders by its very presence alone.  It does not claim to be such; it does claim that if one will study and practice its teachings he will see wonders worked in his life both now and in the hereafter.
19. The Bible was not written chronologically and yet fits together perfectly.   It was given, here a little and there a little, to many men through eighteen centuries (Isaiah 28:9-11): but regardless of this it, forms a perfect unity.
Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.
For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; HERE A LITTLE, AND THERE A LITTLE:
For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.
Isaiah 28:9-11

Galatians 4
GALATIANS 4 But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all. Gal. 4:26 https://youtu.be/9HyckXRkq0I Galatians 4 https://ccoutreach87.files.wordpress.com/2017/01/1-10-17-galatians-4.zip ON VIDEO- .Huey and the shrimp .The set time has come .Probation over .Sons- not servants .Abba- Father .Abraham’s 2 sons .Cast out the bond woman .This is an allegory .Is Paul talking about the ceremonial law only? .He says ‘Sinai’- where the law was given .Children of the promise .It’s not about Jew versus Muslim .It’s about law versus grace .Who is ‘our mother’ ? .We are community .A product of intimacy between a bridegroom and his bride [Christ and the church- the ‘mother of us all’- see?] NOTE- At the end of the video I mentioned a few things- but didn’t have time to ‘tell it all’- on an upcoming video titled ‘Huey’s bow’- I tell it ‘all’. NEW- I just want to hit on a new theme Paul introduces in this chapter. He uses the story of Abraham’s 2 sons- from 2 women- and says ‘this is an allegory’- Galatians 4:22 For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman Galatians 4:23 But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise. Galatians 4:24 Which things are an allegory: Of what? Paul sees the message of grace versus law- contained in the 2 kids- and their mothers. As I have been teaching in this series- God promised a son to Abraham- and over time Abraham and Sarah agreed that he would have a child with the ‘slave’ woman- Hagar. Genesis 16:1 Now Sarai Abram’s wife bare him no children: and she had an handmaid, an Egyptian, whose name was Hagar. Genesis 16:2 And Sarai said unto Abram, Behold now, the LORD hath restrained me from bearing: I pray thee, go in unto my maid; it may be that I may obtain children by her. And Abram hearkened to the voice of Sarai. Sarah and Abraham were getting old- the promise seemed to be taking too much time- so- Abraham had Ishmael with Hagar. Genesis 16:15 And Hagar bare Abram a son: and Abram called his son’s name, which Hagar bare, Ishmael. But- about 12 years later- God told Abraham that Sarah would have a son- the promised one- Genesis 17:15 And God said unto Abraham, As for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be. Genesis 17:16 And I will bless her, and give thee a son also of her: yea, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of people shall be of her. Genesis 17:17 Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear? She indeed gets pregnant- and has Isaac. Ok- in Genesis 21 we read how Ishmael made fun of Isaac- and Isaac’s mom told Abraham to ‘cast out the bondwoman and her child’- Genesis 21:8 And the child grew, and was weaned: and Abraham made a great feast the same day that Isaac was weaned. Genesis 21:9 And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, which she had born unto Abraham, mocking. Genesis 21:10 Wherefore she said unto Abraham, Cast out this bondwoman and her son: for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, even with Isaac.
So Abraham sends Ishmael away with his mother Hagar. Now Paul says this is a symbol of the sons born after the promise- Spirit- And the sons who are ‘sons of the law’. Galatians 4:24 Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar. Galatians 4:25 For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children. Galatians 4:26 But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all. Those under the law- the circumcision- they will always persecute the sons of the promise- Galatians 4:28 Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise. Galatians 4:29 But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now. That was what was indeed happening with the Galatians- The Judiazers [those who kept the circumcision] – and ‘tried’ to keep the law- they were persecuting the Gentile believers- who were born of God. Justified by faith. And they were like Ishmael was- mocking the simple message of grace. Paul says these 2 sons- and their moms- represent the 2 covenants- one from Sinai [law] and the covenant of grace- the ‘New Jerusalem’. The community of God [the church]. I always found this example interesting- because Paul sees so much in this simple story. Yet- these were things God showed him. Paul urges the Galatians to separate from the influence of the Judiazers- He says we are ‘sons of the free woman’ and they are children of the ‘bondwoman’- Galatians 4:30 Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman. If they go back under the law- That will indeed lead to bondage- and we are not children of the ‘bondwoman’ but of ‘the free’- Galatians 4:31 So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free.
PAST POSTS [past teaching I did that relates to today’s video ‘Gal. 4’] GALATIANS [Links] https://ccoutreach87.com/2016/12/26/galatians-1/ https://ccoutreach87.com/2016/12/30/2nd-samuel-3-homeless-friends/ https://ccoutreach87.com/2017/01/02/galatians-2/ https://ccoutreach87.com/2017/01/10/galatians-3/ https://ccoutreach87.com/2017/01/12/the-seed/ I quoted from these bible books on the video- here are my complete studies- https://ccoutreach87.com/romans-updated-2015/ [Quoted from chapter 10] https://ccoutreach87.com/1st-2nd-corinthians/ [Quoted from 1st Cor. 5] (1331) GALATIANS 4- Paul says there was a time period before the promise would be fulfilled thru Christ; that time has come to an end [the law] and we are now in ‘the fullness of times’. When we were under the law we were no different than servants, but now in grace we are mature sons, people able to inherit the promise. Paul says why do you desire to go back under the ‘restraint’ phase, the time of discipline and legalism, we are now in a fullness stage thru the New Covenant and we don’t need the old mentality anymore. Once again Paul really ‘spiritualizes’ the Old Testament in his teaching, he says that the law [Old Testament] taught this difference between law and grace. He uses the story of Abraham having 2 sons [Ishmael, Isaac] and he says ‘cant you hear what the law is saying’? One son was born by promise [Isaac] the other thru the works of the flesh [law]. And just like it was back then, the one born after the flesh persecuted the one born after the Spirit, so today [1st century] those after the flesh/law are persecuting those born after the Spirit. It’s important to see that Paul DOES NOT use this analogy to describe Jewish/Muslim [Arab] relations; he actually refers to natural Israel as ‘Ishmael’! He says the Judaisers [Jews zealous of the law] were fulfilling the type/symbol by persecuting Gentile believers. We need to keep these distinctions in our minds, because when we don’t rightfully discern the truth we do damage to the non ethnic testimony of the gospel. Paul says the law relates to natural Israel/Jerusalem who is under bondage with her children, but the ‘New Jerusalem’ which is above is the mother of us all, and this Jerusalem relates to the church. The New Jerusalem is not referring to a physical city that will ‘hover over the earth during the millennium rule’ [EEK!] But it refers to the new community people of God, the church. I have written on this before and these references in the New Testament [Revelation, Hebrews- us being the new Zion, etc.] are speaking of the church, the people of God. Paul once again speaks of ‘natural Jerusalem’ in a negative light, in the sense that he teaches those who are under the law are not walking in the fullness of the promises of God as come in the Messiah. The New Testament spends no time engaging in the glorying of any ethnic group [whether it be Israel, Gentile, etc.] It’s not that the apostles were being anti Semitic, it’s just the emphasis is on the new kingdom of God and the new people of God [the church made up of both Jew and Gentile]. Its striking to compare the writings of the first Jewish believers to the current trends amongst many evangelical preachers, the two don’t mesh well.
VERSES Galatians 4:1 Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all; Galatians 4:2 But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father. Galatians 4:3 Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world: Galatians 4:4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, Galatians 4:5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. Galatians 4:6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. Galatians 4:7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. Galatians 4:8 Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods. Galatians 4:9 But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage? Galatians 4:10 Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years. Galatians 4:11 I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain. Galatians 4:12 Brethren, I beseech you, be as I am; for I am as ye are: ye have not injured me at all. Galatians 4:13 Ye know how through infirmity of the flesh I preached the gospel unto you at the first. Galatians 4:14 And my temptation which was in my flesh ye despised not, nor rejected; but received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus. Galatians 4:15 Where is then the blessedness ye spake of? for I bear you record, that, if it had been possible, ye would have plucked out your own eyes, and have given them to me. Galatians 4:16 Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth? Galatians 4:17 They zealously affect you, but not well; yea, they would exclude you, that ye might affect them. Galatians 4:18 But it is good to be zealously affected always in a good thing, and not only when I am present with you. Galatians 4:19 My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you, Galatians 4:20 I desire to be present with you now, and to change my voice; for I stand in doubt of you. Galatians 4:21 Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law? Galatians 4:22 For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman. Galatians 4:23 But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise. Galatians 4:27 For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate hath many more children than she which hath an husband. Galatians 4:28 Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise. Galatians 4:29 But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now. Galatians 4:30 Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman. Galatians 4:31 So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free. ________________________________________ 1 Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

Genesis 21:4 And Abraham circumcised his son Isaac being eight days old, as God had commanded him. Genesis 21:5 And Abraham was an hundred years old, when his son Isaac was born unto him. Genesis 21:6 And Sarah said, God hath made me to laugh, so that all that hear will laugh with me. Genesis 21:10 Wherefore she said unto Abraham, Cast out this bondwoman and her son: for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, even with Isaac. 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. 11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; 12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: 13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. 14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; 15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; 16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: Eph. 2 Isaiah 54:1 Sing, O barren, thou that didst not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, thou that didst not travail with child: for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, saith the LORD.
1 Corinthians 5:6-8 [Full Chapter] Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

GALATIANS 4 But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.
If they go back under the law- That will indeed lead to bondage- and we are not children of the ‘bondwoman’ but of ‘the free’- Galatians 4:31 So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free.

Galatians 4
GALATIANS 4
But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all. Gal. 4:26

ON VIDEO-
.Huey and the shrimp
.The set time has come
.Probation over
.Sons- not servants
.Abba- Father
.Abraham’s 2 sons
.Cast out the bond woman
.This is an allegory
.Is Paul talking about the ceremonial law only?
.He says ‘Sinai’- where the law was given
.Children of the promise
.It’s not about Jew versus Muslim
.It’s about  law versus grace
.Who is ‘our mother’ ?
.We are community
.A product of intimacy between a bridegroom and his bride [Christ and the church- the ‘mother of us all’- see?]
NOTE- At the end of the video I mentioned a few things- but didn’t have time to ‘tell it all’- on an upcoming video titled ‘Huey’s bow’- I tell it ‘all’.
NEW-
I just want to hit on a new theme Paul introduces in this chapter.
He uses the story of Abraham’s 2 sons- from 2 women- and says ‘this is an allegory’-
Galatians 4:22 For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman
Galatians 4:23 But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise.
Galatians 4:24 Which things are an allegory:
Of what?
Paul sees the message of grace versus law- contained in the 2 kids- and their mothers.
As I have been teaching in this series- God promised a son to Abraham- and over time Abraham and Sarah agreed that he would have a child with the ‘slave’ woman- Hagar.
Genesis 16:1 Now Sarai Abram's wife bare him no children: and she had an handmaid, an Egyptian, whose name was Hagar.
Genesis 16:15 And Hagar bare Abram a son: and Abram called his son's name, which Hagar bare, Ishmael.
But- about 12 years later- God told Abraham that Sarah would have a son- the promised one-
Genesis 17:15 And God said unto Abraham, As for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be.
Ok- in Genesis 21 we read how Ishmael made fun of Isaac- and Isaac’s mom told Abraham to ‘cast out the bondwoman and her child’-
Genesis 21:8 And the child grew, and was weaned: and Abraham made a great feast the same day that Isaac was weaned.
Now Paul says this is a symbol of the sons born after the promise- Spirit-
And the sons who are ‘sons of the law’.
Those under the law- the circumcision- they will always persecute the sons of the promise-
Galatians 4:28 Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.
Galatians 4:29 But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.
That was what was indeed happening with the Galatians-
The Judiazers [those who kept the circumcision] - and ‘tried’ to keep the law- they were persecuting the Gentile believers- who were born of God.
Paul urges the Galatians to separate from the influence of the Judiazers-
He says we are ‘sons of the free woman’ and they are children of the ‘bondwoman’-
Galatians 4:30 Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.
If they go back under the law-
That will indeed lead to bondage- and we are not children of the ‘bondwoman’ but of ‘the free’-
Galatians 4:31 So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free.

(1331) GALATIANS 4- Paul says there was a time period before the promise would be fulfilled thru Christ; that time has come to an end [the law] and we are now in ‘the fullness of times’.
