yeah, I still keep up with them even though its been tough without WiFi but I got YouTube red for that so I can go somewhere with WiFi and download shit
but even then like! I can watch both lazer teams and slow mo guys’ super slow show with red and that’s ~$11 a month, as well as other YouTube red stuff if I want. rt first got pushed up to like $15 a month??? and I’ll have access to a few shows (day 5, crunch time, etc) that I may or may not like that will only have a season or two anyway BECAUSE nobody is watching them BECAUSE rt first has become such a pain
if they did better discounts with first membership that’d be one thing too, but iirc its like 10% off???? that’s absolutely not worth it and also my budget for rtah stuff is going to a first membership then anyway so I’m not buying shit anyway EDIT: ITS NOT EVEN 10% ITS 5% THATS SO BULLSHIT
they need to make First series full pilots available (with heavy ads if they’ve gotta) on their site (to avoid YouTube incursions and bring in their own site traffic u kno) so you can get an idea for if you’ll even like something enough to keep watching it, or at least better previews (the ‘trailer’ for achievement haunter is like under 2 minutes on YouTube??? I haven’t even watched it because that’s not going to be a good representation of the show)
plus like…. I love rooster teeth. I really do. but they don’t have the budget to make most of their live action shows worth the same price or higher than netflix/amazon charges for access to their original stuff as well as Tons Of Other Shit. they have a better budget now than they did a year or five years ago obviously but they aren’t making enough things at a high enough quality for me to actively be like hey hell yeah, lemme spend $15 a month on this
like realistically I’m gonna check out day 5 and then use first for achievement haunter and like the always open after show. that’s legit probably All I’m gonna use it for, plus the measly discount whenever I Scrape Together the money to buy more shit off them
like! again! if you can afford it easily yourself and are into all the stuff that’s awesome! its just really shitty and obvious that they’re throwing achievement haunter behind the paywall too because they’re their biggest source of fans, realistically, and it’ll be a big payday for them. like its obviously a move made for higher profit than for fan happiness/comfort and its. gross :(

Another contribution for the One Piece Bingo organized by @op-pirate-fleet: a short story from Doflamingo’s point of view based on the “heroic gesture” prompt of my card. If you’ll enjoy this fanfic or find anything to fix please comment! ^^
The Untangled Puppeteer Donquixote Doflamingo didn’t like heroes nor believed in good endings.   Life wasn’t fair. When someone won, someone else lost (a loved one, freedom, a place to belong—the list could go on and on), and the ending that felt “perfect” to some might be unsatisfying to others.   Doflamingo smirked even if his head still hurt as the result of his opponent's “heroism”. Usually, people root for the protagonist—the “hero” of a story—and the people of Dressrosa had rooted for that stupid monkey. They had even called him their “saviour”. How naïve of them! They were not safe nor free when they still had to pay a gold tribute to those other monkeys sitting on their opulent thrones. But they will fall too, one day.   Soon.   Dressrosa's people had got excited for the fighting more than they ever had for the half-hearted colosseum skirmishes. They had wanted to see the "good guys" prevail against the "bad guys". In the end, while some betrayed him (as usual), some others remained faithful. Maybe, his “family” had a real meaning after all. Doflamingo smiled. He could claim that victory at least.   That Monkey D Luffy was interesting. While acting like a “hero”, he didn't consider himself one. He was different from most people: not after revenge like he and Law, but just a crazy free bullet that had only seen him as an obstacle to overcome. Sure, he had fought for Viola’s niece and the other people once he had discovered his plan, but Doflamingo couldn’t blame him: even if he had had his own rightfully reasons, he had still literally caged him and his friends. He had never seen someone fighting so fiercely to get his freedom back. Voices told the truth: Monkey D Luffy wanted to become the freest person in the world.   The Pirate King.   Doflamingo wasn’t surprised he hadn’t become a revolutionary instead. The Revolutionary Army fought for freedom, but its members were not free; they were too bond to their “liberty” ideal to pursue it for themselves. Pirates, instead, weren’t bound to responsibilities. Yet, that brat’s answer to his provocation (what’s the point of acting like a hero?) had still surprised him. If you cannot save everyone, why even bother? What good will bring an imperfect justice? His brother had acted upon “justice” too, but still a flawed one: he had “saved” a single child leaving the rest back with him.   Maybe, it wasn’t a matter of justice but hope. However, Doflamingo had learned as a child that there couldn't be real hope in an unjust world where the winners—the “heroes”—decided what “justice” was for everyone else. Doflamingo's bitter laughter startled the guards, and he savoured the worried glances they threw at him. So-called “heroic gestures” were just the result of egoism: a “good” one for some, but still egoism.   In the end, it’s just a matter of point of views.   Doflamingo wondered if Monkey D Luffy, too, had felt angry, lost, or lonely as a child. Sometimes, he might have feared for his life or someone else's (nobody wants to remain alone). He must have cried—all children do—even if some only cry in secret, when nobody can see them, and people end up thinking they are fearless monsters (Doflamingo still remembered the fire, the screams, his angry tears).   Why didn’t you understand, Roci?   He imagined his brother smiling light-heartedly, joking, making plans for the future together with Law.   Without me, your older brother.   He had loved Roci so much he had killed him to forgive him. For breaking free of his cage without permission. For putting his morals as a marine—as if they weren’t assassins too, and of the worst kind!—over love for his family. For leaving him behind. Doflamingo felt irritated with Rocinante for even giving up his goal—stopping him—to stay together with Law.   Someone so similar to me, not the less.   Law knowing that made it slightly more tolerable, but in the end, he too became free from his past.   But I won’t let it go.   Victims turned into executioners had condemned him and his brother when they were just innocent children. He could not accept such injustice—such “justice” of the masses—and had fought back with his Conqueror's Haki. After that, he had tried to protect his family: he had helped Roci surviving in the streets, brought food to their ill mother. He had tried everything, unlike their inept father.   Why wasting time asking for help from the same people who abandoned us in this hell?   His disgustingly good-hearted, foolish father! He had betrayed all of them to follow his impossible ideals, so he had killed him. He had done it for Roci, too. To save him from a terrible life. But it had been useless: the Celestial Dragons had never admitted them back to Mary Geoise, and his brother had run away.   His brother lost, Doflamingo still cared for his found family. He had mourned the death of Monet and then Vergo. He even felt remorse when they died for him, but that had been necessary in his ultimate goal to destroy the world: a world full of hate and discriminations, of prejudices and ignorance. People called him “Heavenly Demon”, and yet he had accepted in his family individuals no one wanted around. He did feel superior to the others, but he knew that they were all humans in the end, no matter how some still called themselves “gods”. No matter how he played along and claimed to be one too sometimes: it was just a game, an act. Doflamingo knew very well that his Conqueror's Haki wasn’t proof of some no-existing "birthrights". He deemed himself worthy of reigning over others only because he had earned that for himself.   Despite all of that and his unshakable will to survive, though, he had lost. Now, he had no right to choose how to die anymore nor decide what “justice” was; winners did that. Yet, he still had his curiosity. What would the Riku family do from now on? Did they expect peace on Dressrosa? He laughed again, amused this time. He could see hordes of pirates invading it since the very day he had fallen. What would Law do? He hadn’t killed him in the end, so maybe he felt empty, his revenge unfulfilled? Or did he find something or someone else filling the void in his existence?   And what about me?   Despite lying chained on the cold floor of a cell, he didn’t feel so bad. Had his (spare) glasses shattering at the end of the fight been a catharsis? At least, he deserved punishment this time around. He could live with that. It felt strange to think that his confrontation with that crazy monkey might have been the best thing ever happening to him. Even if in a way he had not predicted, that event had broken the spiral of deceiving and violence that had entangled him ever since he was a child.   For the moment, at least.   He still had plans, cards to play. Maybe, one day he would also find hope again—no, better leave such useless things to guys like Fujitora (apparently, the Marine admiral had become a fan of Monkey D Luffy). He would rather keep his prudent stance, the protection of his glasses up again against that shitty world: he didn’t care if, from the outside, that may look like a last desperate tentative to keep control over his life.   Probably, one day I’ll take them off myself.   As much as he didn’t believe in heroes, to see the world unfiltered and not through rose-coloured glasses would be a heroic gesture by itself.   How ironic!   In any case, he believed that his role hadn’t ended yet. Maybe, his defeat had been a necessary step before a new beginning. He would find a way to free himself and the remaining members of his family. He would probably find new people worth his attention and time, too. He would be even more careful from now on (he would still ignore the remorse that sometimes bit him). He was still alive, meaning that he had a second chance. At worst, he would even help the revolutionaries if that meant finally seeing the World Nobles’ demise. He knew firsthand the pain they caused to people, so he may connect with the revolutionaries—or maybe not. Not on a deep level, at least. He liked to have people around but couldn’t let his guard down, ever. Unlike his stupid father, though, he wouldn't waste his potential and hide away from his fate. He would take things into his own hands.   Not like a hero, but like a man.   Even if nobody ever really treated him like a human being. So, why should he act like one? Abused for being a (fallen) Celestial Dragon or supported as a king by his new family, there was no middle ground. His found family had recognised his worth but eventually used him as much as he used them. Probably, only that crazy monkey had ever treated him as equal. Despite fighting Monkey D Luffy had made him relive his past trauma with parallels worth of a well-written story, it had also made him somewhat free.   I can’t believe this just crossed my mind.   Was that a “side effect” of his opponent’s “heroism”? After all, Doflamingo had been the one making the cage, but he had still been at the centre of it, caged himself, as he pulled strings and controlled others.   But now, my threads have been cut.   He could start anew.

what's your opinion on mentally ill/neurodivergent people relating to flint and having headcanons about his mental health? because i completely agree that calling him "crazy" or "feral" for being justifiably angry is stupid, but i also relate to him a lot and would hate to have that be misunderstood (as a neurodivergent person) even though i can see how there would be a thin line there
I completely support neurodivergent people relating to fictional characters and having headcanons that they are neurodivergent - I am also a neurodivergent person who (over)identifies with Flint and his actions. I kind of love headcanoning Flint as autistic - because I am autistic and I recognize myself in him.
And honestly that’s a big part of why I have such a negative reaction to people who call Flint crazy for the things he does. I have intimate knowledge with a lot of those same decisions, and ALSO with the disorders that people say he has because of his actions. I used to be a berserker when I was young, I’ve been threatened with institutionalization many times because of it. My other neurodivergencies mean that my moral compass is usually vastly different than other people’s. I’ve also seen...and been a part of, a lot of death and life or death decisions. So seeing people go ‘oh he’s crazy/a demon/unhinged’ for things that I have personally seen happen? And to have that be...a really negative connotation(i.e., he is sacrificing people’s lives because he’s crazy) a lot of the time can send me back into my own personal spiral of ‘you’re a bad person who lacks empathy because you have xyz.’ Even though we see plenty of times that he does care - it’s literally spelled out for us in his conversation with Silver(and other places in the show, but this is the most straightforward time it happens).
“And what about you? Do you see me as the villain here?”
“I see you as the agent most likely of securing my share of the Urca gold. As long as that’s true I am not bothered in the least by whatever labels anyone chooses to affix to you. Why? What do you think about it? It bothers you. Doesn’t it? What they think? With the things you’ve done. My god, it must be awful being you.”
Seeing people misinterpret Flint’s traits in regards to his actions as those of what the other characters call him - crazy, mad, a tyrant - is harmful to people who share those traits with him. That’s my whole problem.
Like, for neurotypical people, or even for non-neurotypical people who don’t share those particular traits - it’s just fun. Oh, I like thinking of this character as evil/crazy/a demon because that’s fun for me. For people who share those traits it is actively harmful to our mental health, and the problem is that a lot of those people when called out for it say ‘oh it’s just fun and games.’
Without seeing that those things are actually harmful to people in their spheres and also is probably affecting their judgement of the people they are interacting with.
The problem isn’t seeing Flint as neurodivergent or identifying with him over it.
The problem is seeing that as a bad thing and using it to justify only the bad parts of his character. Rarely do you see ‘autistic Flint brain processing the Hamiltons’ tropes(fun, cool, very likely, not harmful trope of neurodivergency) as often as you see ‘autistic Flint goes feral on unsuspecting antagonist pirate, smashes his face in with canon ball then beats him to death.’(harmful, sterotyping autistic people as violent, doesn’t leave room for the fact that flint knew exactly what he was doing the whole goddamn time. He was not going feral he was acting feral in a situation in which is life was actively in the balance - and that’s a whole different ballgame for those of you without actual rage disorders. Someone with a rage disorder doesn’t come down that quickly and then calmly hand someone a piece of paper he slight-of-the-handed from a corpse.)
Acting as if he is doing those things because he is xyz, not because of the fact that he has a lot of trauma, or because honestly there was no good solution, or because honestly? It was just a shitty decision he made in a list of shitty options he could have chosen. Flint not being perfect doesn’t mean he’s crazy. It means he, just like neurotypical people, is capable of making a bad decision.  Using neurodivergence as an excuse as to why characters do bad things is ableism, and harmful to people who might actually have the traits you are fictionalizing. It only serves to other the people who have those traits.
Identifying with a character because you see yourself in them? Is a totally different animal. Very cool. 100% support. You do you Glen Cocoa.
One is actively harmful to the people who exhibit those traits, the other is coming from a place of understanding and identification, bringing together rather than othering the divergence.
So often in media we get these characters who are portrayed as being evil because of their divergencies, and it only serves to hurt the communities who have those differences - I am thinking directly of people who have some sort of bippolarity, or autism, psychopathy or rage and empathy disorders - and it is really harmful to the people in those communities. It affects people’s reading of our actions and personalities in real life, that these things are portrayed as the reason we do xyz, or that we only feel okay doing xyz because we’re crazy. Calling Flint crazy because he makes decisions people view as amoral serves to equalize ‘neurodivergency’ with ‘bad’ and that is the problem, not that people with those divergencies might be able to see themselves in and identify with him.
Anyway thanks anon i have a lot of opinions over our local gay pirate captain also i love you and so does Flint.

June 17th-June 23rd, 2020 Reader Favorites Archive
The archive for the Reader Favorites chat that occurred from June 17th, 2020 to May 23rd, 2020.  The chat focused on the following question:
If someone wanted to know what you were like, which webcomic character not your own would you point to?
Eightfish (Puppeteer)
Leona from Prague Race is a shitty person but her flaws are similar to mine
I love her because I've never seen that character trait in a protagonist
Not gonna recc Prague Race though because it was cancelled
https://discordapp.com/channels/472908933045026827/586101913762922526/716362469550981151
Here's me showing some pages of the comic and talking about her before
Cronaj ~{Whispers of the Past}~
This is a tough question... If I had to choose a character other than my own, it would probably be Shin-Ae from I Love Yoo: (https://www.webtoons.com/en/drama/i-love-yoo/list?title_no=986) A lot of her loner tendencies remind me of myself in high school, and especially her tense relationships with her friends and in general her self-esteem issues.
shadowhood {SunnyxRain}
Probably Cassandra Papadopulos from The Pirate Balthazar (https://m.tapas.io/series/balthasar/info) She’s similar to me in that we share similar flaws (lying/gluttony) and also the way we socialize with people (negotiating/gossiping). Overall, she felt real to me, and was one of my favourite characters in that series.
boogeymadam
Corinth from The Sea In You..! https://tapas.io/series/theseainyou She's a sweetheart, and I like to think I am also a sweetheart flaws-wise, i relate to how self deprecating Corinth is (i'm a lot less publicly so, and have gotten a lot better about it in recent years!) and her whole situation with Seth hits uncomfortably close to home. MOST IMPORTANTLY there's a mermaid named Skylla in her story and you bet I too, would be gay for the first mermaid i ever met. (edited)
RebelVampire
This is a tough question. Right now my choice is probably Shy from Radio Silence http://www.radiosilencecomic.com/ Mostly in the respects of getting overwhelmed pretty fast, not being the hugest fan of talking to overly energetic people, getting hung up on silly things to time, and kind of just being a dork.
Joichi [Hybrid Dolls]
I relate to this character; Georgia Rainier. She also owns a cute fluffy cat: http://genkigirl.com/finesometimesrain/characters/ Amy captures that feeling of unmotivated, gloomy. The character shows relatable experiences with depression and how as an artist, she needs to find her inspiration. Ovreall the comic has a nice pacing through the story, and the series is completed. Mental illness isn't always easy to talk about. http://genkigirl.com/finesometimesrain/comic/fine-sometimes-rain-chapter-01-cover/

all about the lesbian sea pirate
ahsjdkflg okay im gonna do the first section above the cut and the rest under
send me an oc and some numbers pls!! | here are my ocs!
Section 1 - About:
1. Briefly Describe your OC: Appearance, personality, role in a story, etc..
okay so!! hana is half-japanese, half-german, she’s got short/spiky black hair and fucking Huge brown eyes. she’s the protagonist of a thus-unwritten pirate love story and i fucking love her. she’s superbly socially awkward (doesn’t get customs like politeness or like asking before doing things asdjkfl), she’s a Romantic romantic, she loves sword-fighting, she was raised by her father (alongside three older half-brothers, though she was chosen as the heir to his ship which hmm pissed two of them off), she’s very much butch/tomboy, she loves adventure and sailing so fucking much, uhhh yeah her.
2. Briefly describe their backstory/childhood
like i said, she was raised by her dad, who she idolizes, along with her three brothers on the sea; she never knew her mother, because her father told her that she died giving birth to hana (or did she….? hm. maybe hana’s dad is just shitty?). she was always super excited to play and go on adventures and fight, especially with her three older brothers (only one of whom actually like. liked her.), and by the time she was old enough to hold a sword, her dad taught her how to. eventually, her dad became ill, and named hana, who was only 16, his successor. her two eldest brothers planned a mutiny to overthrow her, killing the other brother who protested. hana fought them but they escaped with half her treasure, promising to come back and kill her, and she’s spent the past six years seeking them out to defeat them.
3. Describe their family life and friends.
i mean i pretty much nailed her family, but she’s very close to all the crew. i’ll give you a quick rundown: there’s caspian, her first mate/quartermaster (grew up on the ship with her, an orphan who was stolen in one of the raids, searching out his lost family but is also a big time goof), dover, her “advisor”/sailing master (wise, lazy, arrogant, bitchy, basically her pseudo-father because her father was usually off being captain), darya, her gunner (slutty bisexual aromantic queen, runs the artillery AND the under deck gambling ring, always drunk, loyal to a fault especially to hana), and zarya (we’ll get to her later ;)) and the other lower-ranking crew members.
4. What is the world they come from like?
hmmm very mystical and mysterious, very “pirates are bad and suck and we dont like them even though they’re not usually bad” but. you know. hana is still an outlaw of the land. there are mermaids and sirens and cracken and curses so it’s better to assume that if its magical it exists.
5. Are they original or exist in a certain fandom?
original!!
6. Are they an introvert or extrovert?
extroverted babey
7. Greatest fear?
being unable to sail but also, later on, (SPOILERS) being arrogant and greedy and malicious like her father
8. What’s their sense of humor like?
honestly just fucking. stupid. she probably likes puns and like dirty jokes.
9. Favorite pieces of fiction or genres they enjoy?
i dont think she can read???? but her third eldest brother bourne would usually tell her princess stories and she liked those
10. Favorite music genres?
folk ig
11. Describe their vision of a perfect spouse, if applicable.
a tall, beautiful, kindhearted woman, who sees past the pirate savagery and sees her heart beneath; a woman who can rule the sea alongside her and knows how to handle her and keep her in check. (looks at zarya meaningfully)
12. Largest regret?
not being able to save bourne
13. Something your OC would say?
my quote for her in her bio is “what am i without adventure?” but i also imagine her saying to zarya, “you are more celestial than the stars, my love, and twice as beautiful to behold.”
14. Whats their morality like?
technically lawful good but could be a roulette wheel depending on the day
15. Would they live in a city, rural area, or suburb?
oof none but if she had to probably rural
16. Which actor would you like to portray your OC? (Or a voice actor)
sjskdldldl my face claim is jen ruggirello
17. Sexuality? Gender Identity?
lesbian baby!!!!!
18. What inspired you to make this character?
honestly?? probably a lack of rep in romance and adventure novels. i just love her!!!
Section 2 - If…
1. If they existed in another decade, what would they wear? (Asker can choose what decade) (Bonus points if you draw them!)
hmmm ill pick… current day tbh, and i imagine lots of overalls and baggy sweaters!
2. If they were in a RPG, what would be their class?
i have to imagine somewhere between paladin and a fighter, im not sure which.
3. If they received a large amount of money no strings attached, what would they use it for?
i honestly think she would just. go into the nearest village and buy all the local hungry children bread. like she wouldn’t horde it or spend it on herself. she has everything she needs.
4. If they competed on a competitive TV show, how would they approach to winning? (the “mean” one, the one who makes friends, the one who’s there for fun)
hm… i honestly dont even think she would think about it like that dkdkflfl. probably the charming one, the leader, the adorkable one.
5. If they could change one thing about their past, what would it be?
i think she would choose to keep in contact with her mother. not necessarily live with her, because then she wouldnt have her first love which is the sea, but just like. talk to her. know her better. go see her every few months. write her from different ports about their adventures.
6. If you met them, what would they do?
i would honestly probably be so fucking charmed by her. shes got that way about her, a leadership quality you can’t shake, even if shes really incredibly awkward too.
7. If your character exists in another series’ world, what would they be doing/look like?
i kind of imagine her in harry potter as like. this half blood gryffindor who’s So Gryffindor it hurts. on the quidditch team, always screaming about house pride, everyone loves her. and then she goes and falls in love with this muggle born slytherin and shakes the whole school dkdkkrklr
Section 3 - Other:
1. What other OCs would they get along with?
oh… i think it’s kind of cheap to say jack, because they’re both pirates, but honestly i think they’d get on like a house on fire. other than that… definitely michael minkus, who would make an epic first mate, and lucy stilinksi-hale, who she would probably wanna smash.
2. What’s their singing voice like?
bad. comically bad. she tries to sing to zarya sometimes and zarya locks her out of their room.
3. Take a personality test as the character. Post results.
okay so ive already taken a couple for her in the past (ex: gryffindor, entj, the motivator, etc.) so im gonna take a completely benign one off buzzfeed and post the results. so if she were a song off of thank you next she would be “bad idea” skskkdkd
4. What would be their fighting style in a fighting game like Mortal Kombat, Super Smash Brothers, or Street Fighter?
to outsmart her opponent, think two moves ahead of theirs just like in real life. jokes on her no one else is ever thinking skdkkfkfl
5. What are some mannerisms/quirks?
putting her feet up on tables, walking into rooms without invitation, holing up in her cabin for days working, smirking instead of smiling, smoking, docking in random cities for the thrill of adventure, wearing her blouses nearly completely unbuttoned, just taking things and enforcing sharing bc. she’s always shared everything with everyone naturally and she doesnt know to ask djdkfkfk
6. Describe their favorite meal.
honestly she’ll eat anything but just like. a Nice leg of mutton and a glass of beer. that’s it. that’s the dream.
7. What do they do when they’re bored?
her favorite activity is to randomly attack caspian and have impromptu sword fights with him, but she also loves stargazing and telling stories to the town children.
8. How do they express love/affection for someone?
honestly she’s very. nuzzley. soft. like a little kitten. also waxes poetic. at least romantically. platonically, shes usually like a dad friend sjdkkrlr. like im talking “attaboy” and punches on the arm. pep talks. dad voice. the whole nine yards.
9. Most embarrassing thing that could/has happened to them?
honestly, she’s not easily embarrassed ever. i think she’s kind of just like meh over most things. the most embarrassing thing that could happen would be losing the respect of her crew. she would hate that so much.
10. Make a portrait sketch of them!
