why you should love nikaidou yamato

i love the drunk onii-san of i7, he’s literally hilarious,,, ANYWAYS, why should you love nikaidou yamato?? well if you don’t already, i’m about to tell you now!

one, yamato is the leader of i7!! he literally takes care of everyone, especially the underage group,,, he prepares lunches for them!! he even sticks cute flags into tamaki and iori’s lunchboxes, like that’s literally the sweetest imo,,, he acts like some old geezer that’s not interested in putting in effort and wants to take it easy, but he does all this,,, -cue tamaki voice- ty yama-san.

ALSO,,, please don’t forget the time i7 danced outside trigger’s live tour (after the ban was lifted)! they ended up getting in trouble so tsumugi decided she was going to go off to apologise, and smack bang! yamato is outside!! he knew tsumugi was going to get her head blown off, and decides to come with her, saying he’s the leader of i7 and he should also take some of the responsibility of i7 deciding to dance outside!! he’s literally such a big supporter of i7

and that leads straight onto my second point!! two! yamato is so supportive of i7 in general,,, like first and foremost, remember at the audition? he was going to drop out because he was going to let the people that actually had dreams go and try to achieve them! like it went straight to everyone else, then himself in that moment,,, what a good boy

also please don’t forget that he is so weak-willed to honest and hardworking kids like riku and mitsuki! and ok ok, he is honestly super weak to mitsuki,,, like it’s occasionally mentioned in the story that when yamato sees mitsuki working super hard, he actually wears this super upsetting expression because he’s in this for revenge, whereas mitsuki’s dream was to be an idol since he was a kid. he has a big heart.

and remember the king’s game?? he just wanted tsumugi’s lap pillow and then,,, he just gets riku. and he’s like “ahhh i want out“ but riku’s just so happy about getting chosen that he relents and decides to use riku as a lap pillow despite how much he doesn’t want to (i mean cmon look at his face, does that look like a face of willingness? yes but look at how happy he’s making riku) he’s so important in making i7 happy

three, despite how much he cares, he’s so lazy,,, i mean, isn’t that the biggest mood?? if you can’t relate to liking to take it easy,,, i beg you to take a break and just,,, rest,,, like please.,.,.,,., have you just seen him become the laziest human, holding a can of beer in one hand and is just like “you should do what you like on days off” yamato i approve

and yamato doesn’t even want to clean his room, have you seen his pet robot cleaner (roomba) musashi? he treats it like his actual pet though! he even wipes it clean and takes care of it,,, like yamato is so wholesome in everything he does?? and plus, don’t forget that his ideal date is a ‘stay-at-home date’ because he’d prefer being with them in general, rather than going out to places

four, he is incredibly skilled! he learns choreography faster than everyone else and his expressiveness is better than anyone else and he’s extremely observant as well! remember when mitsuki was just like “well crap, idk why i can’t dance as well as the others?? i’m doing everything that the others are doing but i can’t???” and then yamato jumps in. he’s just like “you’re shorter than everyone else (savage yamato strikes again) so your strides will be smaller, that’s why you’ve got to make longer strides to compensate (for your short height mitsu)” and then mitsuki’s just so happy that yamato was able to pinpoint the problem!!

also let’s not forget the music fest incident! when everyone else was lagging behind, super confused and everything, yamato (and nagi) was still smiling and able to dance properly!

plus, his expressiveness! that is one of his best qualities as an actor and an idol! he can actually act really well, even emitting certain auras like bloodlust. like he’s nailed everything about acting, he is practically a god at it! (idk what else to say here so i’m moving onto the next point,,, best face ever though)

five! let’s not forget how much of a secret worrywart yamato is!! during a rabbit chat (i believe it was the goodnight awesome ones but please don’t trust my memory) he emitted a bloodlust aura to mitsuki when they had to act, and then mitsuki started avoiding him (because he lowkey got scared of yamato). because of that, yamato started getting upset and just says to tsumugi “mitsu’s avoiding me and idk why, this is making onii-san sad”! and then he just gets so happy and relieved when mitsuki starts talking to him again!

let’s not forget when tamaki got into a fight with gaku? yamato just started seeing red, and grabbed gaku and is just “what’re you doing to our tama?!” he’s the true overprotective dad

he’s literally takapapa #2 when it comes to yaotome gaku. he makes sure gaku can’t hit on tsumugi, he’s like “stay away from our manager”, he is so overprotective of everyone!! (omg please look at the rabbit and ribbon yamato has on him)

but he’s also like this,,, please make up your mind nikaidou yamato (although he knows his boundaries too because like, on his bday, he’s just like [to the manager] “want to go out in secret? jkjk tonight, onii-san’s lovers are the fans”)

six, anyone that wears glasses should be able to relate to this! yamato cannot see anything without his glasses which is why he noped outta there when nagi tried taking his glasses (”nagi, onii-san needs this to survive in life”). and yamato has canonically confirmed that glasses are,,, his identity lmao!! when someone told him to take off his glasses during sougo’s rabbit parka chat i think, he was literally “are you trying to negate my identity?” it’s hilarious

i found that so funny omg can we not forget the fact that his king pudding chibi literally has glasses like him.,.,.,.,.,.,.,

seven, speaking of yamato’s identity/ image, it’s so important for him to remain inconspicuous (which i guess is also one of the reasons why he doesn’t want to do acting [the main reason is very spoilery so i’m keeping that out of here for now])!! like mitsuki asked yamato to see his family and yamato just instantly went sour and made a bitter laugh THEN there was also the one time he yelled at nagi for asking him about who this acquaintance he met up with was (and then he felt bad right after)

truly yamato, you are more than just a ‘little mysterious’, you are hella shady

eight, he is part of the wholesome pythagoras trio. let me, once again, elaborate to you how much yamato cares that he’ll go to hell and back for everyone in i7! if you’ve seen yamato’s unit rabbit chats, you’ll know what i mean,,, he was literally like “uwaaaa here they come, here they come” each time nagi or mitsuki was coming at him, because they basically,,, destroyed him! nagi was hugging him so much he thought he couldn’t breathe while mitsuki is destroying each and every one of his bones #ripyamato

nine! i don’t really ship anyone together in i7, but apparently, he’s shipped with almost everyone so +1 for nikaidou yamato for compatibility!!

i headcanon that he learns choreography faster than anyone else since he used to have to remember drama scripts and stage directions to be a part of movies and stuff,,, i guess he would be dragged into that considering his father is a pretty big and famous actor; chiba shizuo

anyways!! yamato literally became an idol just for revenge,,, like he is HELLBENT on getting revenge on his father,,, like i dont remember why he hates his father (i think it was because yamato was a secret love child?? and he was mad about that when he found out) but you know what stops him from exacting his revenge?? he’s worried about ruining idolish7!! literally i7 stops him. he is truly a supporter of i7,,, so good

he ends up getting these nightmares about basically everyone looking at him, and they’re just like “are you satisfied now yamato?? you screwed us over for your revenge, i hope you’re happy”

not exactly a good thing, but yamato is NOT afraid to screw things up,,, he literally strangled yuki at one point when he (yuki) was pushing on all of yamato’s buttons #ripyuki

also to expand on yamato being weak to mitsuki, he’s in this for revenge so i believe his original intention was once they get famous, he’s gonna screw crap up for chiba shizuo on the news or something, which also means he’s going to turn everyone’s idol career into complete dust and ashes - which also means killing mitsuki’s childhood dream which has finally come true (which is also why he gets this super sad expression i’d think)

Tsumugi: IDOLiSH7 has been chosen as one of the many idol groups that will participate in this luxury project!

Yamato: Huh. Are Re:vale and TRIGGER coming, too?

Tsumugi: That's right!

Tsumugi: Going with the park’s theme, you’ll dress up as characters from the Taisho period, and solve puzzles to escape the park.

Tsumugi: There will be extras in the park, also in character! The cameras will follow your struggles as you talk to the extras for hints, collect items, solve puzzles, and avoid all sorts of trouble. I’m counting on you!

Yamato: I can't.

Tsumugi: I knew you were going to say that!

Yamato: Escape games require a lot of running around, don't they. I've seen some on TV.

Tsumugi: Right, the puzzle hints are hidden in the park, along with a certain character. You need to find them in order to earn your escape ticket!

Yamato: Forget escape games, I can't even escape the confines of my futon in the morning.

Tsumugi: You're certainly good at trying to worm your way out of doing things >< I know how difficult it is to get up in the morning, especially when the weather gets cold...

Yamato: Exactly. The only thing that gets me out of bed is Riku and Tama's belly flops onto me.

Yamato: I have no problem staying asleep even when Sou and Mitsu come to rip my futon off me so they can hang it out to dry. But you can't deal with Riku and Tama's technique like that. You'd die.

Tsumugi: W-what sort of belly flops are we talking about..?

Yamato: The kind where they'll dash into the room as soon as the door's open, yelling "boom" and throwing themselves on top of me.

Yamato: I'm happy the kids are having fun, at least...

Tsumugi: A true leader is happy for his group members, even when they give him a hard time in the morning!

Tsumugi: Maybe you could use some of the energy you get from Riku-san and Tamaki-san to beat this escape game! I think you're suited for things like riddles!

Yamato: Oh. What makes you say that?

Tsumugi: When we did that project where you had to assemble a 1000 piece puzzle, you were very quick...

Yamato: Does that have something to do with any of this (lol)

Tsumugi: It does! They're puzzles all the same.

This may sound random but I wanted to mention my fave kinda crack AU for Idolish7, also this got a bit longer than the ask limit allows so I sent it as a submission instead, sorry about that!

Anyways, my personal favorite semi-crack AU for Idolish7 is the AU where everything’s the same except Tenn is actually like a few years older than Riku. Like he still looks like that but there’s a sizable age gap between them. But it’s never brought up so everyone else still thinks they’re twins with the rest of I7 thinking Tenn’s a minor while Trigger thinks Riku’s an adult. Revale actually know the truth but they love inviting chaos so their mouths are shut on the matter. Shenanigans ensue. Gaku and Ryuu eventually learn Riku’s 18 when they try to ask him out for drinks and he reveals he’s a minor. And instead of logically thinking “oh we’re stupid they’re not twins after all” their thought process is “Riku can’t lie to save his life = Riku really is a minor = Tenn must have been lying about his age all this time and is actually a minor!!!” Cue their freak out thinking of all the trouble they’re gonna get into if it gets out that they’ve been bringing a minor drinking with them all this time.

HOLY SHIT THIS SOUNDS LIKE A ROLLERCOASTER AND A HALF!! This AU sounds hilarious haha! I wonder if you're gonna flesh this out or if this is just a fun little idea (or if this is already fleshed out). I hope you don't mind me building some things a bit—

Tenn would probably be 21. It's a good, crisp age for him, if you ask me. Now that I think about it, no one else is 21. Sougo's 20, Yamato's 22, Gaku's 22 and Ryu's 23. The age difference of 3 years should be a perfect number.

Here's some funny scenarios I thought out:

Yamato: I can't believe you're drinking already if you're this young, kiddo.

Tenn: Huh? What do you mean? As you know, I am of age for drinking.

Yamato, already chugging his third shot of beer: I can't bewieve Onii-san's dwinking with a minow

Gaku: Come on, Riku. You should come with us to go drinking.

Riku: Huh? But I can't go drinking yet.

Gaku: It'll be worth it. Besides, we won't drink up to the extent of Ryu stripteasing Ousaka again.

Ryu: That was one time, Gaku. You know how I am when I get that drunk.

Riku: I appreciate the offer, Yaotome-san, Tsunashi-san, but I—

Gaku: Come on, it's just one night. All of our schedules are free anyway.

Ryu: Gaku, you can't just force him to drink with us.

Gaku: I know, but it'll be fun for him. Also, Tenn's gonna come with us. You'll be drinking with your twin brother. Nice, right?

Riku: We're not—

Gaku: —in a good relationship. Yeah, I get that. You two can mend your brotherly strife while drinking.

Riku: ...I'm only a minor.

Gaku: Well...fuck me with a chainsaw. (extra points if you get the reference)

This AU can also lead to angst!! My favorite pastime!

Gaku: Why are you lying to us, Tenn? Did you lie about your age to manipulate us?

Tenn: No. This is merely a misunderstandi—

Gaku: Was it for the old man? Did he tell you to fake your own age to attract clueless fans with your facade of a number?

Tenn: No, it's—

Gaku: TELL ME!

Ryu: Gaku, let him speak first. Besides, he is trying to tell us.

Gaku: *scowls*

I honestly love Gaku, but he can get p irrational (and a disaster dumbass) in reveals and moments like these. Both grouos probably won't stop buzzing about the brothers' ages until the two actually spit it out in front of all at them at the same time.

Do you have any favorite moments with Yamato and Nagi?

OFC I HAVE!!!!! their relationship is my favorite next to mezzo hahaha

First of all, both Yamato and Nagi has/had secrets that can danger idolish7’s popularity. Their backgrounds are not only opposite but also similar. Yamato is an illegitimate child of a big star, he felt he wasn’t loved and spent his youth seeking revenge on his father. While Nagi had everything and can do anything. He is a prince and loved by women, but almost all the men he met in Northmare, including his brother, didn’t like him because they envy him. 

The two of them found out about each other’s secrets earlier than anyone in i7, they understand each other’s pasts, feelings, and reasons. Because they’re similar, both of them are stubborn and refuse/d to reveal their pasts. But since Nagi understood Yamato’s feelings, Nagi could encourage Yamato to have a serious talk with everyone (in part 3). So I hope Yamato and Mitsuki can do the same to Nagi in part 4 :’))

I’m getting OOT so these are my fave Nagi & Yamato moments!!

First, in 2.4.2 where Yamato refused to accept a drama offer starring Yuki and him. Nagi noticed that Yamato didn’t want to accept the offer because he didn’t want to work with Yuki (who knew Yamato’s father very well). Nagi asked Yamato to take off his glasses to see Yamato’s face which is similar to his father.

Nikaidou Yamato: I’m not doing it.Takanashi Tsumugi: Huh?Nikaidou Yamato: Can you turn them down? I don’t have any intentions on appearing on the silver screen.Takanashi Tsumugi: But…. Yuki-san will be there as well, and it’s such a big chance….Nikaidou Yamato: I’m not doing it. Period.Izumi Iori: But it’s a long-awaited chance, right when everyone’s doing their best….Rokuya Nagi: Yamato…. It is a personal rule of mine to not pry into things.Nikaidou Yamato: That’s good. Rokuya Nagi: You’re a very good, honest, and virtuous person, Mitsuki. Those who carry secrets with them aren’t of such noble character. They’re the same as the timid and cowardly…. Nikaidou Yamato: Who’s a coward? Rokuya Nagi: OH……. Nikaidou Yamato: I’m glad your plane made it on time, Nagi. You just got back from Northmare, right? Izumi Mitsuki: There’s no point in asking him if he doesn’t wanna talk about it. It’s gonna take some time, and that’s different for everyone. Rokuya Nagi: Mitsuki, it’s not because I want to know what Yamato’s secret is. Rokuya Nagi: It’s because Yamato is purposefully allowing the atmosphere to deteriorate between the three of us– and I cannot accept that.Rokuya Nagi: As for Yamato’s secret? I’ll just wash it down, much like I would a bowl of cereal. Yamato, please don’t draw borders between us. Nikaidou Yamato: Ahaha. If you’re talkin’ national borders, then they’ve been there since the beginning. Rokuya Nagi: ……What do you mean? Nikaidou Yamato: Unlike you, a returnee, I have ochazuke for breakfast– not cereal. I’m in the middle of doing my homework, when suddenly the notification for the 3rd season PV come and I get really hype and suddenly got the urge to translate this. Sorry for any grammar mistake and other such thing. I get help from my dearest friend to translate some word, thanks a lot!

1.Tenn, I think Tenn-nii said this to Kujo-san. I mean... other than him, who else?

2.Gaku, TRIGGER may be in trouble because of the rumour. (Fuck the paparazi)

3.Ryuu, I’m pretty sure Ryuu-san said this to Tenn and Gaku. Because they get angry because of the ‘problem’

What’s written on the red text is read as ‘tetorarukia’, and I actually get really confuse so I decide on ‘tetrarchy’ after some discussion with my friend.

NEW GROUP ZOOL, Because there’s no actuall text of the kanji, there may be some mistake.

4.Inumaru Toma, , I heard him said ‘trigger mo zama nai na’ and that zama is a bit confusing, but from the flow of the line. I think it can be translate as that.

5.Isumi Haruka, Hmm.. I’m really wondering who he said this to. Its only one person because he said ‘omae’ that means you,  and not ‘omaera’ that means you guys.  Maybe its either Mikki or Riku?

6.Natsume Minami, I think he say that to Idolish7 or TRIGGER because they said something like ‘want to surpass zero’ or anything like that.

7.Mido Torao, he said ‘damatta mama’ and I’m not sure if he mean it as either ‘silent’ or ‘hide’ one true self.  The targer are Yamato or Ryuu.. biggest possibility.

8.Yamato, ‘iyashii warujie’ seriously I need to use google translate for this one, its doesn’t make sense to me. Well I’m not a pro to begin with. And Yama-san said ‘kikenaku’ that means ‘can’t ask’ but I think that way is more make sense.

9.Riku, ..... okay Riku what’s wrong?

10.Iroi, Iorin said ‘shuuchaku dekiru nara’ that means ‘can be obsessed’ ‘-‘. But I think he mean that as ‘stay with’, so I decide do translate it like that. Does he said that to the manager? Because if he said that to the member, I think he’ll said ‘tatakaimashou’ instead, so all of the member will fight together.

11.Mitsuki, Mikki T^T. I think he said this to Nagi, most of time Mikki will tell Nagi story for advice first. Maybe another conflict with himself?

12.Sougo, Idk if you guys know or not. But Japan often doesn’t use ‘subject’ when they talk. So I have no idea, who So-chan said this too. But I think it’s Tamaki, so I decide to use ‘he’ here. (Also from the flow of the lines)

13.Tamaki, and again no subject. And I think he said this to So-chan because Sougo tend to hold everything by himself. Tamaki said ‘gokai’ which mean ‘misunderstanding’. And by ‘misunderstood about you’ here, is not ‘I didn’t know you are that kind of person’ but it means that Tamaki ‘misunderstand’ about something that So-chan does.

14.Nagi, well boy what happen to your country?? ._. or maybe what happen in your past?

15.Momo, I really got no clue what trouble with face them. Because Momo’s biggest problem is already clear at the 2nd season. (At least that’s what I thought, but who knnows?)

16.Yuki, Yuki said ‘koko ni iru nani ka wo’. ‘koko ni iru’ = exist here/ it is here, ‘nani ka wo’ roughly means something. But its not clear what or maybe who is the said thing.

Last... Who are you man? -_- Suddenly appear saying that, are you zero? Hmm.. Too young I think.. I’m really curious, like REALLY CURIOUS. Well all of that is what I THOUGHT, so let’s just see the truth in the game.

 --THOUGHT FOR THE 3RD SEASON—

Now, I decide to separate this. Because there may be some person that don’t want to listen to my thought and other thing.  FINALLY I CAN RANT (In a good way), ABOUT THE OTHER THING.

First, let’s see the new unit!

New unit ŹOOĻ＜ズール＞!

Well I think this is the first time an actual antagonist like group appear, since TRIGGER have a nice rivalry with I7. And Re:Vale is an AWESOME senpai.

1.狗丸トウマ (Inumaru Toma)：CV 木村昴 (Kimura Subaru)

From the line in the PV, I conclude that this Toma is some rude bastard with skill. The usuall pattern would be ‘Badmouthing – mouth fight – one of the member said ‘so u can do better bro?’ – end up really good’... Yeah :v Well, we still don’t know tho.

The seiyuu Kimura Subaru, I recognize his voice because ‘Dance with the Devil’ anime. Also he’s the seiyuu of ‘Giant’ from Doraemon XD.I have no worry for his singing skill tho, have heard it before and I like it.

 2.亥清悠 (Isumi Haruka)：CV 広瀬裕也 (Hirose Yuuya)

I’m not sure how to describe him. He can be the hot-blood type like Gaku that hate losing but is cocky and will go ‘I don’t need any weak rival’ or the doesn’t care type like Yamato onii-chan.

His seiyuu Hirose Yuuya, I’m not familliar with his name. When I search him, turn out he’s the megane from the anime Handa-kun. The one who always wear the Gakuran. I’ll just watch over him with warm heart ^^ I hope he does a good job.

 3.棗巳波 (Natsume Minami)：CV 西山宏太朗 (Nishiyama Kotarou)

He looks like the type that seems nice at first but will said the cruelest thing at the end, or maybe said it with no harm meaning. (But hurting instead.).

I recognize his voice, well Nishiyama-san voice is good so I wonder why he doesn’t get more role ._. I hope he get more in the future, and I think his voice kind of fit this kind of character.

 4.御堂虎於 (Mido Torao)：CV 近藤隆 (Kondo Takashi)

I think since he said that kind of line, he may be blunt character that’ll say anything in his mind.I’ve a feeling I like him out of these 4.

KONDO-SAN!!! Well the reason I may like him is because of this too. I really like Kondo-san since hearing to his Drama CD XD. At first I didn’t notice (I forget his name kanji), when I translate it well man I’m really shock and start to getting hype. At first I was like “Oh all of the cast is ‘new’ to me. It will be kind of fresh then.” Means I’m not famiiar at seeing them in anime or other. But then Kondo-san come ^^. Well  I look forward to seeing them in the actuall game.

 TRIGGER

From the lines of Tenn, Gaku and Ryuu. I think they get into some kind of the trouble with public because of a wrong rumour by the magazine. But damn Tenn line at the end is so cool, his profesional attitude doesn’t drop at all. TRIGGER is this season main group (?) so I look forward to what will happen. There’s many side of Tenn and Ryuu that still unknown yet.

 IDOLiSH7

I’m really concern about Nagi, because that line is soooo unlike him. Well I think all of us notice that he might be some prince or something because he seems so used to do speech in the 2nd season. So.. what happen in his country... AHH NAGI!!

Then we have Yamato onii-chan. He has too much mystery for my liking,  So I expected we finally can know some fact. From Nagi and Yuki dialog in the second season, I think Yamato is former actor and quit for some reason. So that lines may be direct to.. someone that he want to revenge at first (?).

Riku and Iori lines may be connected. Riku said a day like today, might not come again while Iori said he will fight. So maybe there’s some trouble that will cause them to crumble, and the manager and Iori will try to do something about it.

I don’t have many thing to said about Sougo and Tamaki, because maybe they have some big argument again. But I don’t really have a clue about what it is, expected it is a misunderstanding. It can’t be about Aya-chan again, because she and Kujo go overseas. (Its amazing Tamaki can still meet Tenn-nii without asking him about Aya-chan, or.. did he?)

Mikki please realize that you’re love by many person ><, but I understand what he mean. Its scary to accept yourself when we don’t know what the other is thinking.

Momo and Yuki seems to have a new goal(?), Idk about Yuki but Momo’s past is mostly reveal. So let’s see what else they have for us. And that mysterious man in the last scene, seriously  WHO ARE YOU~ (Last dimention reference :v) That can’t be Zero.... right?

If you have play until the end of season 2, you can see a picture of TRIGGER and text saying  “The next stage is...” (Yeah, I think this is what is written there). So this 3rd season will focus on TRIGGER (?). Also from the Nico Nama from las year August, they said Nagi will play big part in the 3rd season. So its explain that word, that so unlike Nagi. They also said there will be a lot of tears again T_T like the usuall ainana.  AND from the official site, they said this 3rd season will have a big volume (the story will be long), also close to the core of the story.

Now soon they will have an anime too, but the release date is not clear yet. Tbh honest I’m a big dan of utapri, but the story is just too much of a failure as they get more season. (Let’s accept it guys). What’s the point of saying its reverse harem, just said that its music idol anime like B-project. Now, I just start playing ainana since february or march, but I’m a total fangirl now. Usually I play rhythm game for the music game, but for ainana I play for the character and most of all THE STORY. Yup its always soo good, that I cry. I like the music too of course ^^

And the character all of them is so awesome. I’m still not sure who’s my favourite right now, because yeah. ALL OF THEM IS GREAT. The rabbit chat is really interesting. And now they’re gonna make a new feature, I think its called ‘Tv Rabbit’ With this we can see the interaction between member and backstage scene (?). I’m really look forward to this ^^

Ryunosuke: I want to see the future  with my own eyes, so the past, I guess? I'd like to go back to my childhood years and do all kinds of stuff I couln't back then! 

2. Is there a place in Okinawa that you really like?

Ryunosuke: Tons, but the sea surrounding the Kerama Islands is really beautiful. The water's really clear and there's even sea turtles swimming around. They call it the "Kerama Blue". 

3. Have you baked anything lately?

Ryunosuke: I haven't had the time to bake recently, but I did receive lots of chestnuts a while back that I cooked. Tenn liked them a lot.
