probably not. if u reread coanda i think theres a scene where gojo heavily implies he’s gay before any level of experimentation - after the kiss between him and the much older woman in europe. he doesnt say it outright, basically to give both boys some plausible deniability, but i dont think theres any part of him that is ever confused about his sexuality.

the older men are just what ends up being available. its meant to draw attention to how gojo has literally no one his own age to spend time with and the inherent exploitative nature of child athletes / young athletes being immersed in sports cultures that are at times intensely toxic. its not really about gojos sexuality, or about getous jealousy. that plot line is there to highlight, that despite getou largely holding gojo up on a pedestal and thinking he integrates well, gojo is still struggling. Even if gojo isnt aware of it himself.

gojos love for getou though is a complicated beast. id say hes semi-aware of it but willing to shove it down bc what hes got going for him is pretty good. hes willing to hide One Thing to keep racing with his teammate, and stay friends, and maybe when theyre done racing they can have each other. then we get into 2013/2014 and he thinks getou hates him and hes just desperstely trying to scrape together their friendship.

lorenzo is a plot device more so than a character, designed to showcase a) gojo’s childish jealousy b) getous relative skill level and struggles in the sport and c) the difficulty of being queer in this particular sport, and in general. the scene with him in 2014 has been planned for a while, meant to showcase the choices that getou has made for his career thinking it was the only way… only for it not to be the only way. theres no details on who lorenzo was sleeping with but he is older than gojo and getou (getou was 17 in the GREC, he was in his early twenties, probably 21-22)

ok but hear me out: bellamy and raven fall in love on the ring, not bellamy and echo. echo is a wlw and gets her own storyline.

it’d be better for bellamy’s arc bc: 

this makes more sense bc bellamy and raven have a previously established relationship and falls in line with how much they supported each other (re: “you with me?” “always”) 

the audience understands and supports their relationship bc it has on-screen history that we have seen and watch develop, not just being told (rather than shown) about a BIG SHIFT from enemies to friends to lovers that yes, could easily happen over the course of 6 years on a spaceship with 7 other people but we didn’t SEE IT HAPPEN so tbh im SORRY but it doesn’t have the same weight 

raven and bellamy have cared about each other a LOT for a LONG TIME and it MAKES SENSE that they would fall in love okay it MAKES SENSE

clarke still being alive has real dramatic consequences for bellamy and his relationship bc raven knows that shit, she’s been watching them since season one and she knows, she KNOWS that bellamy was in love with clarke at the end of season 4 and that if he had a choice he would’ve stayed with her

bellamy’s actions of abandoning everyone to save clarke in season 6 has more textual tension because raven knows what’s up, and the watcher doesn’t feel like....dirty....bc bellamy’s gf has no idea that he’s lowkey in love with someone else, even if he won’t admit it

it adds real stakes to the choices being made. both bellarke and braven are realistic and satisfying romantic endings for bellamy. either he choses the girl that he has led beside and loved for so long, proving that a you will always find your way back to your soulmate no matter how long and how exhausting the journey is, OR he choses the brilliant can-do mechanic who has supported him and stood by him through thick and thin, through the end of the world, proving that love is a CHOICE that you make and in the process, de-fantasizing the concept of romance and instead emphasizing the practicality and consistency behind a healthy, realistic relationship.

im a slut for braven and it should happen. 

it’d be better for echo’s arc bc:

echo gets her own storyline 

she gets closer with murphy bc of similar mentalities and with emori b/c grounder culture on the ring

murphy pushed emori away bc she was spending time with echo. 

it’s also revealed that echo is a wlw, and sets up unrequited feelings for emori (which plays into the dynamic of the season as well as echos purpose for going and spying on mccrery’s camp). 

echo is shown to be notably hesitant to let madi take the flame, looking for basically any other option and gets angry at bellamy and gaia for doing it anyways. 

her and Clarke bond over this. 

when season 6 rolls around, echo and gaia come to terms and echo forgives her for putting the flame in madi. 

The two become increasingly close. we get extra scenes of the two of them running around sanctum trying to incite a rebellion, and slowly, it becomes obvious that echo has fallen in love with gaia. 

echo’s history as a child soldier is revealed, and it shows her hesitation for letting madi take the flame in a new light. 

she tells gaia the story, not ryker. gaia is in tears and grieves what she’s been through with her, but reminds her that this is the only way. echo says not anymore. she convinces gaia to take the flame out of madi and put it in her, and echo becomes the next commander, her flame keeper and lover by her side.

echo and clarke stay very close, partially bc clarke trusts her completely with keeping madi safe. through echo, clarke finally gets resolution with lexa and is able to move on, and its not weird as all fuck bc echo isn’t her fucking daughter what the fuck the 100 writers what the fuck what the fuck what the fuckkkkk

echo trains madi and helps her overcome residual trauma she has from the flame being in her head. 

echo gets the screentime an the character development arc she deserves as a STARRING CHARACTER on the show becoming a strong window into the remnants of grounder culture and how it survives on a new planet as well as a strong wlw character in an interracial relationship who doesn’t succumb to the kill ur gays™ trope.

in conclusion: i am right. i want braven. i want more echo character development. thank u for ur time.

We generally have the plays split up along lines of “what we know”— we have a list at the very beginning of the blog. Sometimes we’ll draw the others’ characters (mostly me drawing some of Star’s…) but even then the final say on characterization is up to the “main” mod for that play — mod aster

I think my favorite play overall is Macbeth, just because I like the vibes (and the fact that I too could kill Macbeth), the fact that you don’t say it’s name in theatres, and the fact that it’s a play I did a full read through and analysis of in class. This is phrased like an ACT question and i might not answer it right so sorry in advance but: mod aster and i only selected a few plays for each of us to do given we dont know all of shakespeare’s works, but we tend to put more emphasis on the the more well known. But it also comes down to 1. How much we have plotted out for each play and 2. What the followers ask about most. Our two most popular are hamlet and macbeth bc people are familiar w those but around march caesar always becomes relevant again. I didnt even have designs for some of the characters until someone asked about them. -- mod star

I would say the same as star— it generally comes down to what people ask about. I will say that the overall plot is sort of separated into “has happened” and “is happening”. Like, the human potion of Midsummer, Julius Caesar, and Macbeth are all in the “aftermath” portion, while Twelfth Night, Hamlet, and Romeo and Juliet, among others, are happening. We’re trying to incorporate as much as we can, and I don’t think any of them were really put in without some thought.— mod aster

I go to a theater school rn and so ive dealt w shakespeare (although not all of them) it also helps that i was in loves labours lost last year as moth and that i read hamlet and r n j. Theres also a theater in my state that always does One Big Shakespeare per season and they always do them super well!!! To be honest, I got back into Shakespeare Because of the blog. I’ve been friends with some people that got really Pretentious about Shakespeare, and it kinda put me off of it. I did have a book of abridged plays (the plays’ plots written out in prose, basically) that I read as a kid, which is what got me into not only the plots of a lot of the plays, but also the idea of having them illustrated. It can depend on the piece? I was working on some (unrelated) oc prints that were song-focused, and for those I just listened to said song on loop. Sometimes I have playlists. Sometimes I’ll just be in a Mood and throw a song on loop. But a lot of time for the blog, I’ll listen to The Adventure Zone for the billionth time, because I have Too Much Attention. It’s mostly determined by like. How we choose per story? If that makes sense. Like, we just take story by story, and decide “is it happening, has it happened, and when?” And then we fit them together in relation to each other just by dint of. All existing at once. Like, I knew I wanted Macbeth to be in aftermath, because like, even though there’s no murder, the way I’ve translated it to the AU is still kinda heavy, and it’s something that I don’t know that I could do properly if it were happening right now. Also, it’s more interesting IMO to have them at different times. Tl;dr we wing it per story and slot them together— mod aster (mod star agrees I just can word better, in theory)

Pretty much what Star said— there are certain elements where it’d be neat to do as a comic or as an animatic. Like, the fantasy dream is like, an anthology webcomic of each story, where you can like, see other characters in the background and stuff. But to be honest, we develop a lot by what we’re asked— there was a post about developing worldbuilding by being asked questions and then pretending you’ve thought about the answer, and it’s not far off. Personally, it’s hard to just lay out a story, because I have a whole WORLD and what’s relevant? What are people interested in? 1. im not sure which post ur talking abt? i know lin has supported AS before b/c chris jackson with whom he is close friends with has an autistic kid and felt like he was supported by AS, and he hasnt talked about the thing since, at all. 

2. i dont think its impossible ive said before something really polarizing like ‘lin hates autistic people’ bc im dramatic but to be honest i dont think he hates us as much as hes clueless abt the harm AS does to us and believes his friend over autistic strangers. which, we can talk about how shitty & ableist that is and how it matches a pattern of refusal to respond to criticism in the past, but i dont think he... hates us?

3. so because lin doesnt tend to publicly acknowledge that hes done things wrong or been misinformed (which i honestly kinda get, like, if youve seen the tweets ppl send him abt this stuff, some of them - theyre ugly as hell) we dont actually know if hes changed his opinion on all of this. i dont think hes publicly supported AS since what, 2015? (that date is unverified im just estimating) 

4. hamilton is my SI too! i even saw it. like, i paid money to see it. and i get not wanting to support ppl that support AS and ofc its your choice whether you feel comfortable with the musical anymore, but personally heres what i think: you liking hamilton isnt.... supporting lin being an AS supporter. 

5. this isnt like. supposed to be a universal thing i dont think. like, if you cant do this its fine, youre allowed to have deal breakers, but i find it.... really freeing to approach idols/celebrities/content creators with a sort of nuance and also understanding? i dont have to like lin’s support of AS to like hamilton, because theyre not connected, and i dont have to like lin erasing a Real Historical Gay Relationship to still like his personality or his activism work re: PR or other causes. like, idk? you can apply nuance to how you feel abt people, basically.

1. Femme or butch? 

for type, im vry easily wooed by butches tbh

as for myself, im genderfluid + heavily lean towards butch-ish for one gender + have been gettin more comf w that term for myself. the 3 genders i switch between, ive described as sharp, dainty and tired, for reason of not really being comf w gender labels aside from nonbinary. sharp/tired r kinda butchish, moreso sharp. like leather jackets, ripped jeans, dress pants/shirts, defs flannels (which r a given for any mood im in tbh) while tired is like mb softer, more focused on flannels + loose tank tops/shirts, shorts + certain skirts, comfy clothes, and the like   

ive found that i’m leaning more towards butch lately too, like i’ve been a lot more comfortable with pants and a nice top than i have w dresses or most skirts + im wondering if i was just hanging on to femininity for sake of society, so those r things 2 think abt. i still feel comf in them sometimes, but it’s getting much less often. gender’s weird, i still cant cling to one bc of how pressuring that is so genderfluidity is still smth for me + it shifting to different percentages is okay (im thinking out loud @ this point, but its helping so i hope its interesting to read)

aaahh theres a lot of diff aesthetics i could go into, but i have a tag if ur interested in a visual representation? basically, cosy homes, forests, wooden steps and bridges, cats, girls/nbs, water, plants, and old video game stuff, and clouds/skies. i’m sure there’s more in there, but for a good rule of thumb !! as for like dressing aesthetic, i like to look rly gay + attractive and a lil showy? like my shorts r Short and i love crop tops + a lot of my shirts show my bra thru them, + i like showing it when i can, like sports bra + a tank top is a fav look of mine bc i can make it look like my bra is a trim on the shirt + it’s cute. i’ve been wearing dresses less often, but occasionally, i like to rock one. id love a pair of combat boots but i have like size 11/12 feet + most stores dont carry that size + im hesitant to buy some online.

there was the undercut!! and i have that down now c: next step is to dye it blue and mb some purple. i wanna bleach it if i’m gonna dye it, but im hesitant to do that bc of how damaging it is, but since my hair’s been cut a cpl time almost all the color is out now, so i think itll b ok if i take good care of it.

talking abt being gay w other girls/nbs is lovely and cathartic, i never got to growing up bc i lived in a homophobic town + i was like dealing heavily with internalized homophobia and body/gender dysphoria so i was ace for a bit. talking more abt like sexual attraction + aesthetic attraction is new to me, and that’s been a process to get to, but it’s nice that I can now do so w/o being belittled or barraged by insult. i also just love the thought of being w someone, and daydreaming abt when that happens is really nice. also,, girls + nbs r a blessing and brighten my day and im so glad im attracted 2 them

absolutely communication, that’s a need. i had a bad experience w someone bc she wasn’t communicative at all, and failed to tell me that we weren’t dating despite us going on several dates + kissing??? like i wont go too into it, but hatchi matchi it was a mess. so yeah, communication, affection, and like reassurance that they actually want to be with me, and that my presence is wanted and enjoyed. I got a lot of “i dont care”s for answers last sort-of relationship, and that was rly discouraging. another turn on is for them to initiate talking and things, like holding hands or planning to hang out + such. consent is another big one.

i have lots of interests!! im obsessed w steven universe, its my fav show (and if u ever have time, we should totally watch it together sometime, i rly think you’d love it, it’s super gay + heartwarming.) i really love playing music and learning new songs, which im rly great at memorizing. talking to friends + gettin 2 know them better is always nice and fun. i like to draw new things + see the different ways ppl draw, so seeing art on here is always fun for me. i’m also rly into polygon videos (it’s a youtube channel, not like videos abt polygon haha) and this podcast called the adventure zone. season one just ended, so i might start listening to another one called friends at the table. i rly wanna start a podcast w someone, but can never find anyone to start it with. idk what I’d talk abt but if i could find a partner for it, i think it’d be a lot of fun. mb smth abt games or books/queer representation in media. doing a dnd podcast would also b rly fun, but a lot of work + editing so mb later down the road !! im blanking on other interests atm, but animations and cartoons r lovely and i aim to make something in that field one day, if not just a comic.

its easy for me to love friends, doesnt usu take me more than a few months of knowing them if were talking a lot. as for falling in love, that takes me a lot longer. ive never rly been in love w someone. i thought i was once, but rly it was just my first gay experience w someone and i wanted it to be perfect so i projected a lot of things + made it better than it seemed to myself for the duration of it, which wasn’t healthy, so i wanna avoid doing that again, + take things slower next time. or at least for what they are.

b) LEARN. YOUR. HISTORY!!! don’t just read stuff on here and call it good. google stonewall, google gilbert baker, memorize the names and stories of the black trans women that have made it possible for me and you to read and answer these kinds of questions. learn about history pre-stonewall- understand ANCIENT gay history (and how a lot of it is rooted in misogyny. understand why and what it means) know who harvey milk is, learn about pulse- even though its painful. know the trans women (of color, predominantly) that get murdered every year, do what you can to help by confronting your own transphobia. know who mathew shepard  is. google whats happening in chechnya, understand why.  (this is by no means a comprehensive list) 

understand that most of the stuff i want you to google is depressing and sad. understand why it matters that it makes you feel that way. don’t let it consume you- let it make you really fucking angry. 

c) talk to older gays! the internet is an amazing place and you can ask older gays lots of questions or advice, even if it’s just on anonymous. there are THOUSANDS of resources at your fingertips! don’t be scared to use them! 

d) be brave, i love you

30. what is a piece of advice for people who may not be in a safe place to express their sexuality

a) im sorry you have to be in this situation, but remember that not ‘looking gay’ or being out of the closet will never make you less valid as an LGBT person

b) don’t force it. put your safety first when you need to- i did this until i was old enough to handle it, then i decided i needed to be a voice for younger closeted kids in my conservative high school. it fucking sucked. its not easy. don’t feel obligated to try and be the hero. you’re not going to be able to help others or yourself if you feel like shit/are dead. remember that

c) there will ALWAYS be small ways in which you can express yourself without other people knowing, these small things might make you feel a lot better than just bottling it up! consume gay media, learn ur history, draw rainbows on your hips where no one can see them, write about who you are in a diary or online in a private document. make gay friends- internet friends are perfect, take solace in the immense amount of solidarity EVERY gay person has ever felt for the way you feel right now. 

d) this isn’t forever. there will come a day when you can tattoo ‘im fucking gay’ on your forehead, when you can present as who you are, when you can kiss someone you love without fear- you just have to stick it out.
