It seems that Sam Claflin has a new projet with Amazon: "Lazarus", a mystery-thriller.

It will be a limited TV series. Along with Sam, Its set to appear Bill Nighy - with whom he played already in the phenomenal "Their Finest"- playing his dad this time, and Alexandra Roach, whose work i'm not familiar with, though that will be corrected ASAP (this weekend), she will play Sam's sister.

Source comes from Variety (by Joe Otterson), so Its trustworthy info to me, they always get It right, i trust them.

Also its an original story written by Harlan Coben for the series, so no book to read this time (insert sad face here). I like Harlan Coben and Sam Claflin so I'm excited to know more about It.

‘Percy Jackson’ Disney+ Series Casts Aryan Simhadri as Grover, Leah Sava Jeffries as Annabeth

The upcoming Percy Jackson Disney+ series has finally found its main characters.Percy the main protagonist had been cast some time ago, but has been joined by his two mates that is central to his journey Annabeth and Grover. These two characters will be played by Leah Sava Jeffries and Aryan Simhadri respectively. The series Percy Jackson is a book novel being adapted from the author Rick Riordan. The first tale “The lightning thief” is a modern fantasy about a 12-year-old boy Percy who learns that his biological father is Poseidon, the Greek god of the sea. Percy sets out to become a hero by undertaking a quest across the United States to find the entrance to the Underworld, retrieve the lightning bolt and stop a war between the gods. The new additions to the cast Simhadri and Jeffries both have past acting gigs, so they aren’t fresh faces to the industry. The series is supposed to start production soon in Vancouver, Canada with Riordan and Jon Steinberg writing, James Bobin directing.

This is significant to people of color who do not see themselves portrayed in young and magical media. This gives that effort to connect to the wide variety of people who would have been viewing this show. Its giving a chance at variety without being a sense of a money grab for having POC main characters.

One question I have is with the Disney Budget how far can they go making the character Grover a satyr as he is a mythical creature.

Variety- “CW Head Mark Pedowitz Talks Streaming, End of ‘Arrow’,’ ‘Supernatural’”

Context: Summer TCA 2019 (...) Pedowitz also spoke about the end of CW cornerstones “Supernatural” and “Arrow,” both of which will conclude during the 2019-2020 season.

“All I can tell you is Jared [Padalecki], Jensen [Ackles], Peter Roth from Warner Bros,, and myself had a very long, sad, heartbreaking, discussion and we all came to understand what the guys wanted to do. They wanted to go out still loving it, they wanted to be with their families, and they wanted to see what else was out there.” Pedowitz also said that the feeling at the network had always been that when the leads were ready to stop doing the show, they would stop.

“For them and for Stephen Amell and ‘Arrow’ these shows will go out the way there were supposed to go,” he said. He also praised “Arrow” for spawning six additional DC shows in the so-called “Arrowverse,” saying that “Batwoman” was the “next evolution” of that universe. “We believe these franchises, this universe will continue for many, many years,” he said.

Pedowitz also addressed whether there would be any more attempts at developing spinoffs of “Supernatural” after two previous failed attempts.

“We have had no further discussions whatsoever in terms of a ‘Supernatural’ spinoff,” he said. “I tend to believe at this point that the show’s essence and blood is Jared and Jensen.” Pedowitz did say, though, that the CW was actively looking at a new DC property to develop currently. (...)
