Okay but- What if I told you I think that Jordan should also get a program? 🥺👉👈
This is Essential Schematics Compiler, or ESC for short (pronounced "Escape")! Flynn helped Jordan create her to help with the architecture and city planning within the Grid!

Ok, hear me out...
Kevin Flynn went back into the Encom grid after the events of the first movie, and ran into Jordan's program (or data pusher?) during his time there. He fell head over heels with her, but knew a User-Program relationship couldn't be feasible, so eventually he found out who her User was after countless microcycles of hanging out.
Conveniently, her program existed on that grid in the first place because she was involved in architecture calculations for Encom.

It's Epiphany, which is definitely one of the areas where everyone's favourite lesbian child of Jod gets a worse deal than Jesus.
The Epiphany is when the (traditionally three but actually an unspecified number of) kings turn up to give toddler Jesus gold, frankincense, and myrrh, marking the point at which Jesus is revealed to the world as God.
But two other revelatory events are usually marked at Epiphany too: the wedding at Cana, where Jesus is pressured by his mum into transforming water into phenomenal quantities of wine, and Jesus' baptism in the river Jordan, where the sky opens up, the Holy Spirit descends in the form of a dove, and the booming voice of God is heard proclaiming "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased" (Matthew 3:17).
Poor Gideon does have three main points where her identity is revealed, but she doesn't get fancy yet ominous gifts, loads of booze, or interesting wildlife. Just a flirty cougar telling her to take off her aviators, “Hi, Not Fucking Dead, I’m Dad", and New Rho's whole attention Bajoran workers! moment.

It was 1985, and the death of Jordan Canas made Flynn an entirely different person. He didn't give himself time to mourn, he just moved on to Alan - someone he knew had a crush on him for the longest time. Alan was easy, he did as told simply because he thought it was helping Flynn get through the grieving process.
Flynn had Alan working late on how to stabilize the Grid so it could hold the ISOs, of course Flynn never told him what the ISOs were or what the Grid actually was, but Alan knew it had to be important. The Grid had been experiencing power failures due to the rapid creation of the ISOs, and Flynn was too busy taking care of Sam to do it himself.
What Alan didn't know was the fact that these ISOs and Programs were actually people. These people, without him knowing, were experiencing tension that could lead to war. ISOs were widely hated and blamed for the Grid's failure.
Alan bad been working on the Grid's code for hours now, he was just about to go home when he saw a note on Flynn's desk. Flynn meant to throw it away, but he must've forgotten in his hurry back home. Alan picked it up, seeing something about Lora's digitizer and how to use it. Curious, he entered the code that Flynn wrote down, and everything faded to black.
He opened his eyes in a copy of Flynn's office, frantically looking around for any sign of familiarity. He rushed out of the arcade replica, where most Programs expected to see Flynn.
He stood there in front of the building, frozen in place as programs muttered about him not being the creator. He didn't know what to do or where he was, he just knew he wasnt who they were expecting.

Catechism of the Catholic Church - Paragraph # 528
Today we celebrate 3 theophanies or epiphanies (the interchangeable names for today's feast), not just the coming of the Magi. From the Catechism:
528 The Epiphany is the manifestation of Jesus as Messiah of Israel, Son of God and Savior of the world. The great feast of Epiphany celebrates the adoration of Jesus by the wise men (magi) from the East, together with his baptism in the Jordan and the wedding feast at Cana in Galilee. In the magi, representatives of the neighboring pagan religions, the Gospel sees the first-fruits of the nations, who welcome the good news of salvation through the Incarnation. The magi's coming to Jerusalem in order to pay homage to the king of the Jews shows that they seek in Israel, in the messianic light of the star of David, the one who will be king of the nations. Their coming means that pagans can discover Jesus and worship him as Son of God and Savior of the world only by turning towards the Jews and receiving from them the messianic promise as contained in the Old Testament. The Epiphany shows that "the full number of the nations" now takes its "place in the family of the patriarchs", and acquires Israelitica dignitas (is made "worthy of the heritage of Israel").

Inklings Challenge 2022: Exploring the Imagery
This year’s Inklings Challenge asks writers to incorporate at least one of seven images that have been used in Christian thought throughout the history of the Church. Musing over some Inklings Challenge thoughts. Want to run it by you guys rather than the main blog, because this is very nebulous.
When it comes to themes for the challenge, I’ve gotten several responses that people struggled with the themes--hard to know theme before you write the story, etc. I sympathize, but I don’t want to drop the themes. This is a Christian spec fic challenge and I want to challenge people to think about the Christianity aspect. I feel like a list of seven themes provides enough variety to allow scope for the imagination while also providing guidance.
One possibility that’s occurred to me: what about a list of seven Christian symbols? Work with the literary language of salvation history. Include some object that’s often use symbolically in the Bible and tie that to the theme. There are a lot of symbols that could provide a lot of scope for abstract theme.
Some example symbols and some connections/themes they suggest:
Light: God’s grace and guidance, living openly, casting off the darkness of sin, etc.
Tree: the Tree of Life, the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, the Cross, which all tie to themes of man’s fall and redemption
Water: The waters of the flood, the Red Sea, the River Jordan, themes of repentance, cleansing from sin, rebirth
Wind: The Holy Spirit, the voice of God. God’s breath creating man
Bread: Manna from heaven, the Eucharist. God providing for his people. The bread of life.
Wine: The joys of heaven, God pouring out his goodness and joy to mankind; the wedding at Cana, the Eucharist, the wedding feast of the Lamb
Fire: The Holy Spirit, “Do not hide your candle under a basket”, the fires of hell, the purifying fire of God’s grace
Oil: Anointing, kingship, stewardship, “running the race”
That’s very haphazard, but the point is that there are multiple directions one could go with any symbol. It provides a lot of scope for theme while also providing a concrete image for story-writing purposes. It might be easier to work these symbols into fantasy than sci fi, but a lot of them are such basic things that it wouldn’t be horrifically difficult to work the object (or the lack of it) into any story. The hope would be that this would provide a place for the less abstract-minded people to start. Pick a symbol, tie it to your subgenre and run with it. Technology plus water? Boom! Submarines! Space travel plus wind? Spaceship air purifiers! And so on and so forth.
But, since the stories are ultimately supposed to tie to a Christian theme, does this actually make it more difficult? Adding in an extra step? Because not only do we have the abstract theme, we also need to make sure that the symbol shows up and represents what it’s supposed to? I like it because I go feral for symbolism and themes, but I also thought that last year’s themes were so broad no one would have trouble writing a story that fit one.
We could just focus on the concrete aspect of things, and just use the seven Christian ideas as prompts to guide the story. Just include the object and don’t worry about the theme unless you want to. Could also use a different type of concrete list for inspiration. Like:
Images of God
Father
King
Warrior
Shepherd
Bridegroom
Gardener
Servant
or Symbolic Events like Birth, Wedding, Feast, and other things that I can’t think of right now. And then people could just gear their story to such a character or event idea and leave it at that.
Or, of course, we could just stick with a list of abstract themes. Such as virtues or whatever. Which also has appeal as an option.
Not sure if this makes sense (I’ve rambled a lot). I’m probably overthinking things. Feedback needed.

Meditation by Fr. Kenneth Tanner, copied from https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=10227343268704825&set=a.1072017398034
The wingéd archangel Gabriel brings a message to a teenaged-woman, an invitation from the triune life—that personal thrice-holy Love that refuses to let death destroy forever any of the humans of any place or time for they are made in the image of eternity.
The angelic word is a request to bear in herself the divine Word by whom in the beginning the Father speaks the cosmos into existence by the Spirit. And Mary is willing.
Her consent is inscribed on her robes in Ukranian: “I am the Lord’s servant. Let it be to me according to your word.”
She who was a seamstress in the Temple—one of those who made and mended the veil that will tear from top to bottom on the day the Son of God and her son dies in order by his death to cause death to vanish from human nature forever like straw in flame—holds a spool of red yarn in one hand.
From the sky window the Spirit descends and hovers, and a new creation begins. In the womb of the virgin and by her powers also the body of Jesus Christ is knit together, the Son having, as Hippolytus wrote, “woven it for himself in the sufferings of the cross.”
Here “he who cannot be contained is contained.” The sign of his crucifixion is visible in his halo, his hand poised to bless, heal, comfort, and set free.
But what about the well and the amphora (pitcher?)
So many things but first this: to become human is to become as an infant nearly 80 percent water, to begin life as a body suspended in water.
There is a nod to the water Christ would later turn to wine at the wedding of Cana, after Jesus consents to his mother’s request.
There is a bow to all the ancient stories of God meeting his people at wells, including where Christ, himself weary and thirsty because he truly is human in every way as we are, tells the Syrophoenician woman he has living water to give her that when she drinks it, she will thirst no more.
The waters of the flood. The waters of the Red Sea. The waters of the Jordan in which Christ is baptized, and finally the River of Life.
Today, March 25, is the Feast of the Annunciation. It’s nine months to Christmas.
