"Er-ge, oh, Er-ge!"
Lan Xichen had no patience for Nie Huaisang's little troubles, not at that place and time, but the younger man sounded and looked so distraught and unconsolable that he felt obligated to help him. Even his tears looked real and honest, not just the dramatic ones he conjured when he was too lazy to bother with sect things.
"Yes, Nie Huaisang?" The younger - and smaller, weaker, his conscience whispered - man threw himself in his arms, tears flowing without his unnecessary sobbing noises.
Lan Xichen had a soft spot for his sworn brother's didi, his didi. And maybe helping him with whatever trouble he found himself in this time, he could hopefully pretend that the love of his life wasn't getting married to his beloved bride.
"Er-ge..." Nie Huaisang sniffled. "I'm in trouble."
"I already guessed that. What happened, A-Sang?" He asked, his hands buried into the soft locks of his younger brother.
Nie Huaisang pulled away, his eyes big and teary, tugging on his heartstrings. "No, Er-ge. I'm in trouble."
It took Lan Xichen more time than he would like to admit to finally understand the meaning of those words. Nie Huaisang was in trouble.
Oh, the irresponsible man!
"Who? Is it somebody in our status? Is there anybody who knows this? You need to get married immediately." He went into problem solving mood, his questions coming like rapid fire.
Nie Huaisang just cried.
"Nie Huaisang, this is serious!" He wanted to shake the boy. How could he be so- "Who is the father?!"
The answer came like a slap in the face. "Da-ge."
Oh.
Oh, the poor boy.
"I..." A sharp inhale. "I will help you. Nobody has to know."
His heart beats for Jin Guangyao, but he always had a soft spot for Nie Huaisang. It wouldn't be love, not the way it should be, but he would take care of the younger man and his unborn child. Da-ge's unborn child.
"Th-Thank you," Nie Huaisang stuttered. Tears were still gathering in the corner of his eyes, but he looked relieved.
Lan Xichen was glad he could be helpful. He was glad he could offer a good solution for his- his betrothed?
"I knew I could count on Er-ge's help," Nie Huaisang said, his usual fan fluttering in front of his face.
"You can always count on me," he promised. It was a promise he was intended to keep.

Here's a hint for y'all anons:
If you come at us politely and ask us to use a specific tag for y'all
We might be a little more willing to do so.
Just coming into our askboxes and going "uR a FuCkInG pEdO cReEp KyS i CaNt BlOcK u waaaaaaaah waaaaaaaah waaaaaaaah ur horrible just for existing how dare you use public fandom spaces waaaaaaaah waaaaaaaah your entire internet usage has to cater to me" makes us not give a fuck about you.
Well, even less of a fuck than we already give about you.
We are not your parents.
We are not responsible for you.
It is not our job.
So, you have two choices:
Shut the FUCK up and get off the internet until you mature enough to use it properly and take responsibility for your own experiences
LEARN HOW TO BLOCK AND FILTER TAGS! Quit your fucking bitching, pull up your training diapers and take some responsibility for your online experiences.
We. Owe. You. Nothing.

scale versus stain
dearest @shoujosparklingwater, annulareye has finally begun their descent into nieyao hell... Here! He brings him close enough to read eyes as Mingjue lets his own go middle distance. Just out of reach. See, not to touch, not to smell. Look! Displays his face, turns it to one side then the other, he’s still pretty, seems fed, unpunished. Just one bruise, the kind he might have even (he had, many times, Mingjue wouldn’t) asked for.  Baby. Wen Ruohan strokes Meng Yao’s neck, massages all the places that might be sore under the hanging hair, sore neck, knotted jaw, all those little inevitables; squeezes and shakes his shoulders out while his arms dangle and swing, manipulates the work out of him, chews him soft with his claws.  Brings him back down on his knees facing Mingjue and the room, where everyone can see better, the good cushions having magically reappeared for them both. Sinks down behind Meng Yao like he’s the whole entire throne himself and pushes the little body down. Adjusts the elbows and angles into place, still talking at Nie Mingjue bound and kneeling before them.  Even he, the prisoner, is on a very nice cushion (but not as nice as Meng Yao’s). His knees hurt differently on it. Wen Ruohan keeps talking.  There’s a light coming into his face that reminds Mingjue of court ladies, the kind he wouldn’t stand to have at Bujingshi. He’s wearing lip paint, but it’s more the way the mouth twists. His voice is still gentle but his hands are not. He pauses for a moment; regards the body before him; makes Meng Yao look up again and face Mingjue, asking if the face he’s making looks familiar; puts his knobbled fingers in Meng Yao’s mouth; sneers; makes a small motion at his belt, flips Meng Yao’s robe and commands him, all intimacy gone, to back up and move. Slowly. https://archiveofourown.org/works/28954848

salty asks 1, 6, and 16 (choose whatever show/adaptation I just like hearing your opinions on things tbh)!
1: What OTPs in your fandom(s) do you just not get?*
(DEEP BREATH) X!ya0... just... X!ya0. I personally do not like the heavy romantic light it is taken as by the fandom at large in so much of the material. I think it's just a bit too cruel to Xichen needlessly as well as if it had been romantic love, I don't think he would personally be able to start moving on as was hinted at in the extras. I prefer their relationship being what it was, a very naive man desperately wanting to see the good in everyone even when that does more harm, and Xichen needing to come to terms with his own hypocrisies and moving on for the better. Also fuck Jin Guangyao I hate him with a passion beat his ass in soul limbo Nie Mingjue, Xichen deserves to love romantically without trauma at it's base for a better more loving person.
6: Has fandom ever made you enjoy a pairing you previously hated?*
Hmmm, I can't say I ever hated it, was indifferent and thought it was funny... but I have the discord to thank for my recent epiphany and adoration for Niecest. Somehow a lot of my pairings are hahaha funny jokes, turn into oh shit I actually like this a lot more than I should. Particularly, I really adore it for the original novel-verse and all that is just up for exploration into Nie Huaisang's mindset after his death.
16: If you could change anything in the show, what would you change?
For CQL? Like.... 98% of it... I would like to keep Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo as the leads and far away from Yang Xia's writing. I felt the scenes closer to the original from them were really well done and that they have a strong grasp of what the characters are supposed to be without the ridiculous bad censorship writing.
As for the Donghua, I wish it showed Jiang Cheng in all his awful, vile, selfish glory more without guilt. They did so good with that punch in Burial Mounds, that is the kind of abrasiveness I want to see from him as well as not getting away with his selfish cruel thoughts.

agreed though. im 24 and i remember when "proship" was just the norm because people could actually seperate fiction and reality and now we're creeps to the new generation who think they have some moral highground (hint: they dont)
Seriously.
I would love to go back to "Ship and Let Ship" and "Don't Like, Don't Read".
And for people to actually take the time to block/filter the tags and not interact with things that upset them or make them feel uncomfortable.
