About the Agate Festival~

The next day you go over to Hazuki’s house to get ready for the Agate Festival.

“What?!” you cry. “You’re not going to wear the Yukata? But you dragged me all over to get that…” you whine.

“I don’t think he’ll wear one either…” she says blushing furiously. “So…”

You sigh. “Fine, just put on a cute outfit. I won’t wear the dress either.”

“No!” Hazuki cries. “You have to!”

“Why do I have to?” you ask shocked.

“Because Takigawa—” she cuts herself off. “I just think that maybe something could happen between the two of you… and there’s nothing… I don’t want to get my hopes up too much.”

You pause, debating telling her about his feelings for Kumiko now. You can’t do it. She’s on top of the world, and you can’t be the one to bring her down.

Reluctantly you pull on the dress, loving the material flowing around your legs, and Hazuki gives you a pair of low heels to wear, two inches. White and strappy, a tiny flower on the strap that crosses near your big and second toes.

“You’re gorgeous [y/n],” Hazuki breathes happily handing you your white purse. You pull that over your shoulder and smile hesitantly. You pull your hair up into a low bun, and when you’re finished turn to look over Hazuki.

She’s wearing a cute pink shirt over an orange and white striped shirt, blue skirt, blue sweater tied at the waist. “Cute!” you exclaim. “Tsukamoto-kun better think so too,” you say grinning.

Hazuki smiles somewhat uncertainly.

You look solemnly at her. “If something goes wrong, I have my phone, you have my number. Do not hesitate to call, and I will be right over, without Chikao-kun.”

Hazuki nods and hugs you. “Thank you [y/n], you’re the best friend in the world!”

At the festival you run into Midori-chan. Midori is with her sister, and her sister looks like an angel. They help Hazuki with her hair, and after she leaves, you, and Hazuki are left on your own.

You smile, “I’m going to go find Chikao-kun,” you tell her.

Hazuki nods, and waved to you, you leaving.

“[y/n]-chan!” you hear a voice from in front of you. Hazuki is a little ways behind, and you recognize the voice of Tsukamoto. You stop and let him catch up to you. He’s wearing a green plaid shirt, which accents the green in his eyes more. It was a good choice, and you smile in approval. He chose well.

His eyes widen at the sight of you in the lavender dress, but he ignores his red face. “Where’s Katou-chan?” he asks instead, sounding a little bit sullen.

“She’s up there. Do you know where Chikao-kun is?” you trade him. Secretly you’re glad he’s looking for Hazuki.

“Back there,” he says. “Good luck.”

“You too,” you say shooting him a warning glance.

Tsukamoto nods once and you part ways.

You spot Chikao before he sees you. He’s wearing a blue plaid shirt and his black uniform pants. The blue on his shirt brings out the blue in his eyes. You stand and look to the side, hands clasped behind your back, waiting. You know he’ll see you soon enough. You catch him turning his head in a shiny bauble hanging from a small stall, and turn to face him, smiling broadly as you make eye contact from down the street.

You walk up to him, and he takes your hand. “[y/n]-chan…” he whispers. “You look beautiful.”

“Thank you, you look very handsome tonight, Chikao-kun.”

You walk along the shops hand in hand, stopping to look at small trinkets, and so Chikao can get some curry bread.

“Do you want any?” he asks you as you guys sit down on a bench overlooking the river.

“Sure,” you say. Honestly, you’re just enjoying your time with him.

Blushing his rips off a piece and hands it to you. You eat it and lean against him. You can hear him chewing and his heartbeat, the city lights glowing around you.

He puts his arm around you. “I like you,” he says softly into your hair, the bread all gone.

You look up at him, your noses almost touching. “Me too,” you whisper.

Slowly you close your eyes and tilt your head to the right, Chikao tilting his head to your left. He moves in, and the two of you kiss, a rush of heat spreading though out your body.

His lips are warm and soft, a few crumbs of bread there, but they fall away as you kiss him deeper, pressing yourself closer to him until your figure is carved neatly into his. His arm winds its way around your waist, his other hand on the back of your head. One of your hands is under his jaw gently guiding him, and the other raking a hand through his hair which is softer than you thought it would be.

Slowly the two of you break away, breathing heavily, and Chikao takes his hand from behind your head to rub the back of his neck. “Uh, I don’t—”

You hold a finger up to his lips. “Shh, it was wonderful,” you say smiling as your place a short kiss on his gorgeous red lips. Chikao takes your hand with his and you sit there letting the night engulf you in its warm light

“Hibike! Euphonium: Ensemble Contest-hen” The OVA and Teaser

The Hibike! official website from Kyoto Animation and the Euphonium franchise unveiled a teaser for their respective OVAs. The episode's name is Hibike!, as seen in the video. The ensemble contest for euphonium is scheduled for the summer of 2023.
