English translation under the cut (to the best of my ability).
Ask: Hey Azul~
What kind of snacks are sold at Mostro Lounge? Are the drinks craft soda and/or mocktails? Tell meー
Response:
Most of the items on the menu are soup or sandwiches. Usually we don't sell many snack-like items. Sometimes, depending on the season, we do sell sweet snacks. (As it is getting close to Halloween, we at the Mostro Lounge are preparing candy for that).
The drinks that most people get are sparkling water or soda, as well as juice; however, we do offer craft sodas as well. As I have not had the time to sell mocktails, we haven't offered them yet. However, I have recently been thinking about adding them to the menu as well.

Rules Need To Be Followed
Hey, it's Kazumi and Riddle here to give you the rules we'd like you to follow on our account!
Of course, Kazumi. Anyone who can't follow these rules knows what's waiting for them.
Riddle dear, don't threaten people... But honestly these rules aren't that hard to follow so-
1. Riddle is a minor (17) and so am I. Any mildly suggestive things are okay (think kissing, flirting, etc), but nothing full on explicit/NSFW. Platonic relationships are definitely okay!! Any blogs that don't want to interact with minors should steer clear.
2. Please remember to be kind! Riddle is a person too, and he can get hurt. Any asks that I deem harmful will be deleted.
3. Any time me and Riddle talk together, I will be in blue and Riddle will be in white. When he is talking alone, he will also be in white. To add to that, I will most likely be speaking in the tags because I talk a lot (and so Riddle doesn't see my chatter). Please feel free to ignore this! I absolutely don't mind.
4. I use headcanons in my portrayal of Riddle; I try to be as canon compliant as possible with the knowledge that I have of him.
5. Absolutely no homophobia, racism, transphobia, etc. Regular DNI criteria applies here.
6. If Riddle doesn't respond to you, please don't feel too bad! He is a student and works hard to get perfect scores throughout all of the classes he takes, as well as participating in his club. It is not a surprise that he might lose track of time.
7. That being said, I am also a full-time high school student, and so it is likely that my replies will be fully messed up (read: I tend to procrastinate by doing fun things and then I have a week to catch up on all my schoolwork). Please be mindful of that and don't spam me and Riddle.
8. OCs? Absolutely! I love seeing your OCs. Make sure to send in a description of them either beforehand or in your starter (unless Riddle doesn't know your character at all, I guess - but it would still help to have a general overview). If there's nothing of the sort, I will automatically assume that your character and Riddle have never met. However, I am not comfortable with the first interaction with an OC being a romantic one, as it has become a problem before for me.
9. I can speak a little bit of Japanese (my parents are Japanese but I haven't actually tried to learn it well so it may be messy (though I'm working on it)) and I am learning Spanish (in school) so! I am willing to write replies using those languages as well as English (and I will automatically use honorifics like "-senpai" for upperclassmen so keep that in mind). Spanish I can't guarantee though because it kind of can suck (as well as Japanese).
10. I also love shipping and am not very selective (I love seeing rare pairs, and in general seeing how their ship would work out). So, feel free to do that too! Before they get into a relationship, though, they need to have at least some sort of interaction beforehand (because I want to get to know you too, and even if you're playing a canon character, I still want to do some regular stuff first) To add to that, I am a multishipper, so each relationship happens in its own verse.
11. OOC talks? I love them, but if you aren't talking directly to Riddle or something about him, then I'd redirect you to @kazumirambles which is my regular ol' talking blog (so I don't spam anyone).
12. Anons will always be treated platonically by Riddle (as he doesn't know you that much), but you are welcome to send all your love to him! He does enjoy having the attention. Also, if you want to be known with an emoji, you will be tagged as "kantokusei [emoji]" so there's also that!
13. Mun does not equal muse!! Riddle may say/do things that I would not do or that I don't condone. We do not share the same feelings or actions all the time.
And finally, remember to have fun!
Of course, and make sure to follow the Queen of Hearts' rules as well.
Yes, but don't let that hold you back (Riddle no I will at least loosely follow the rules I swear)

Ugh. Rules...
Hey, it's Kazumi and Floyd here to give you the rules we'd like you to follow on our account!
Rules make everything boring. Nezumi-iruka-chan...
But they're necessary to our safety, so we need to go over them, Okay?
1. Floyd is a minor (17) and so am I. Any mildly suggestive things are okay (think kissing, flirting, etc), but nothing full on explicit/NSFW. Platonic relationships are definitely okay!! Any blogs that don't want to interact with minors should steer clear.
2. Please remember to be kind! Floyd is a person too, and although he might not appear like he can get hurt, he can and will. It puts him in one of his moods. Therefore, any asks that I deem harmful will be deleted.
3. Any time me and Floyd talk together, I will be in blue and Floyd will be in white. When he is talking alone, he will also be in white. To add to that, I will most likely be speaking in the tags because I talk a lot (and so Floyd doesn't see my chatter). Please feel free to ignore this! I absolutely don't mind.
4. I use headcanons in my portrayal of Floyd; I try to be as canon compliant as possible with the knowledge that I have of him.
5. Absolutely no homophobia, racism, transphobia, etc. Regular DNI criteria applies here.
6. If Floyd doesn't respond to you, please don't feel too bad! He is chaotic and regularly forgets to check this blog. He only comes on when he has nothing better to do. So...
7. That being said, I am also a full-time high school student, and so it is likely that my replies will be fully messed up (read: I tend to procrastinate by doing fun things and then I have a week to catch up on all my schoolwork). Please be mindful of that and don't spam me and Floyd.
8. OCs? Absolutely! I love seeing your OCs. Make sure to send in a description of them either beforehand or in your starter (unless Floyd doesn't know your character at all, I guess - but it would still help to have a general overview). If there's nothing of the sort, I will automatically assume that your character and Floyd have never met.
I am willing to write replies using those languages as well as English (and I will automatically use honorifics like "-senpai," "-chan," and "-kun," so keep that in mind). Spanish I can't guarantee though because it kind of can suck (as well as Japanese).
10. I also love shipping and am not very selective (I love seeing rare pairs, and in general seeing how their ship would work out). So, feel free to do that too! 12. Anons will always be treated platonically by Floyd (as he doesn't know you that much), but you are welcome to send all your love to him! He does enjoy having the attention (as long as it's not "too much," whatever that means).
13. Mun does not equal muse!! Floyd may say/do things that I would not do or that I don't condone. We do not share the same feelings or actions all the time.
And finally, remember to have fun!
Yeah~ I bet everyone'll find it really fun here, won't they~?
Hopefully, but I find that slightly doubtful with the scary look in your eyes right now.

Rules are necessary to maintain professionalism.
Hey, it's Kazumi and Vil here to give you the rules we'd like you to follow on our account!
Of course. Rules are needed to make sure we all stay safe and refined. We wouldn't want anyone acting unseemly.
Yeah... Just don't be inappropriate guys.
1. Although Vil is not a minor (18), I am. Any mildly suggestive things are okay (think kissing, flirting, etc), but nothing full on explicit/NSFW (due to me being a minor...). Platonic relationships are definitely okay!! Any blogs that don't want to interact with minors should steer clear.
2. Please remember to be kind! Vil is a person too, and he can be hurt by your words. Any asks that I deem harmful will be deleted.
3. Any time me and Vil talk together, I will be in blue and Vil will be in white. When he is talking alone, he will also be in white. To add to that, I will most likely be speaking in the tags because I talk a lot (and so Vil doesn't see my chatter). Please feel free to ignore this! I absolutely don't mind.
4. I use headcanons in my portrayal of Vil; I try to be as canon compliant as possible with the knowledge that I have of him.
5. Absolutely no homophobia, racism, transphobia, etc. Regular DNI criteria applies here.
6. If Vil doesn't respond to you, please don't feel too bad! He has so many things going on in his life, both in public spaces as well as school and his personal life.
7. That being said, I am also a full-time high school student, and so it is likely that my replies will be fully messed up (read: I tend to procrastinate by doing fun things and then I have a week to catch up on all my schoolwork). Please be mindful of that and don't spam me and Vil.
8. OCs? Absolutely! I love seeing your OCs. Make sure to send in a description of them either beforehand or in your starter (unless Vil doesn't know your character at all, I guess - but it would still help to have a general overview). If there's nothing of the sort, I will automatically assume that your character and Vil have never met.
I am willing to write replies using those languages as well as English (and I might use honorifics like "-san" so keep that in mind (probably will not due to Vil not using honorifics that much)). Spanish I can't guarantee though because it kind of can suck.

12. Anons will always be treated platonically by Vil (as he doesn't know you that much), but you are welcome to send all your love to him! He does appreciate it a win over Neige ha. Also, if you want to be known with an emoji, you will be tagged as "kantokusei [emoji]" or "[emoji] kantokusei" so there's also that!
13. Mun does not equal muse!! Vil may say/do things that I would not do or that I don't condone. We do not share the same feelings or actions all the time.
And finally, remember to have fun!
And take care of yourself. Make sure to not stay up too late on your devices. Rest is important for a healthy life.

(Me, the owner of this blog, making a rp request to show how it’s done? Noooo totally not I-)
Hey, I’m Kazumi, 14-17, and use he/they/she pronouns. I have roleplayed for ~2 years I think? On and off, at first with fandoms and now I rarely play as fandom characters (unless I’m really into something). But to be honest, both fandoms and fandomless would be accepted, I don’t really care. I would like my partner to be 14-17.
I’m looking for a person who roleplays semi-literate and in third person, non-starred, and roleplays the Crave series by Tracy Wolff, specifically as Hudson Vega, with me playing an oc. However, I am willing to do any roleplay with paranormal creatures (vampires, werewolves, sirens, etc). I don’t honestly care about gender of the pairing. Most of my face claims are anime characters, but I have been trying to start using real life face claims.
I’m not triggered by much, to be honest. But if you think there’s something that could trigger me, please tell me about it :)
Some favorite tropes of mine are enemies to lovers, the bully falling in love, honestly stuff like that </3
I also can roleplay characters from a variety of anime (Haikyuu, One Piece, Romantic Killer (Riri/Rio >>>), My Hero Academia, and Tokyo Revengers being the ones I would probably roleplay most, but you can always ask).
I’d love to talk OOC and about headcanons. Bonus if you speak Spanish and could have your character speak Spanish in the roleplay (please I’m learning Spanish so- that would be amazing >>> (I can try to help with Japanese lmfao but I probably wouldn’t be too good)) If interested, message me on @kazumiroleplay or on Discord at Kazumi#2619

Hey, it's Kazumi and Ruggie here to give you the rules we'd like you to follow on our account!
Shishishi...
Don't try to find loopholes, Ruggie. Please.

13. Mun does not equal muse!! Ruggie may say/do things that I would not do or that I don't condone. We do not share the same feelings or actions all the time.
And finally, remember to have fun!
Make sure to follow these rules!
You're acting so suspicious right now. I don't trust you.

Rules... Tch, what a bore.
Hey, it's Kazumi and Leona here to give you the rules we'd like you to follow on our account!
Do we really have to go over this? I'm sure that those soushoku doubutsu know all of them already.
Just. Just to reiterate them. Okay?
1. Although Leona is not a minor (20), I am. Any mildly suggestive things are okay (think kissing, flirting, etc), but nothing full on explicit/NSFW. Platonic relationships are definitely okay!! Any blogs that don't want to interact with minors should steer clear.
2. Please remember to be kind! Leona is a person too, even if he seems to ignore half of the things said to him. Therefore, any asks that I deem harmful will be deleted.
3. Any time me and Leona talk together, I will be in blue and Leona will be in white. When he is talking alone, he will also be in white. To add to that, I will most likely be speaking in the tags because I talk a lot (and so Leona doesn't see my chatter). Please feel free to ignore this! I absolutely don't mind.
4. I use headcanons in my portrayal of Leona; I try to be as canon compliant as possible with the knowledge that I have of him.
5. Absolutely no homophobia, racism, transphobia, etc. Regular DNI criteria applies here.
6. If Leona doesn't respond to you, please don't feel too bad! He is sleeping and procrastinating on his work. Ruggie gets on him about it, but still... He gets lazy in checking his own blog.
7. That being said, I am also a full-time high school student, and so it is likely that my replies will be fully messed up (read: I tend to procrastinate by doing fun things and then I have a week to catch up on all my schoolwork). Please be mindful of that and don't spam me and Leona.
8. OCs? Absolutely! I love seeing your OCs. Make sure to send in a description of them either beforehand or in your starter (unless Leona doesn't know your character at all, I guess - but it would still help to have a general overview). If there's nothing of the sort, I will automatically assume that your character and Leona have never met.
Before they get into a relationship, though, they need to have at least some sort of interaction beforehand (because I want to get to know you too, and even if you're playing a canon character, I still want to do some regular stuff first) To add to that, I am a multishipper, so each relationship happens in its own verse.
11. OOC talks? I love them, but if you aren't talking directly to Leona or something about him, then I'd redirect you to @kazumirambles which is my regular ol' talking blog (so I don't spam anyone).

13. Mun does not equal muse!! Leona may say/do things that I would not do or that I don't condone. We do not share the same feelings or actions all the time.
And finally, remember to have fun!
Tch... It's finally over.
I'm actually surprised you were able to stay awake for that, you always fall asleep super quickly during history lessons...

Every Contract Needs a Set of Rules
Hey, it's Kazumi and Azul here to give you the rules we'd like you to follow on our account!
Yes, Kazumi-san. Everyone who wishes to speak to us needs to follow by these rules. After all, any contract has rules, does it not?
No need to speak so formally... But yeah!
1. Azul is a minor (17) and so am I. Any mildly suggestive things are okay (think kissing, flirting, etc), but nothing full on explicit/NSFW. Platonic relationships are definitely okay!! Any blogs that don't want to interact with minors should steer clear.
2. Please remember to be kind! Azul is a person too, and he can get hurt. Any asks that I deem harmful will be deleted.
3. Any time me and Azul talk together, I will be in blue and Azul will be in white. When he is talking alone, he will also be in white. To add to that, I will most likely be speaking in the tags because I talk a lot (and so Azul doesn't see my chatter). Please feel free to ignore this! I absolutely don't mind.
4. I use headcanons in my portrayal of Azul; I try to be as canon compliant as possible with the knowledge that I have of him.
5. Absolutely no homophobia, racism, transphobia, etc. Regular DNI criteria applies here.
6. If Azul doesn't respond to you, please don't feel too bad! He runs the Mostro Lounge and he spends most of his time doing that, doing schoolwork, participating in his club, etc... He sometimes loses track of time. He will reply, just be patient.
7. That being said, I am also a full-time high school student, and so it is likely that my replies will be fully messed up (read: I tend to procrastinate by doing fun things and then I have a week to catch up on all my schoolwork). Please be mindful of that and don't spam me and Azul.
8. OCs? Absolutely! I love seeing your OCs. Make sure to send in a description of them either beforehand or in your starter (unless Azul doesn't know your character at all, I guess - but it would still help to have a general overview). If there's nothing of the sort, I will automatically assume that your character and Azul have never met.
I am willing to write replies using those languages as well as English (and I will automatically use honorifics like "-san" so keep that in mind). Spanish I can't guarantee though because it kind of can suck.
11. OOC talks? I love them, but if you aren't talking directly to Azul or something about him, then I'd redirect you to @kazumirambles which is my regular ol' talking blog (so I don't spam anyone).
12. Anons will always be treated platonically by Azul (as he doesn't know you that much), but you are welcome to send all your love to him! He genuinely appreciates it (it gives his ego a boost). Also, if you want to be known with an emoji, you will be tagged as "kantokusei-san [emoji]" so there's also that!
13. Mun does not equal muse!! Azul may say/do things that I would not do or that I don't condone. We do not share the same feelings or actions all the time.
And finally, remember to have fun!
Was that really necessary?
Yes, don't be so boring Azul. Having fun is important!

28th June >> (@ZenitEnglish By Anita Bourdin) #Pope Francis #PopeFrancis Pope Francis Will Go to Hiroshima and Nagasaki in November On a Pilgrimage of Peace.
Vatican City, 26th JUNE 2019 (Zenit.org).- Pope Francis confided to the press his plan of travel next November. The plan is specified, announced “Japan Today.” The Holy Father might well be in Hiroshima and Nagasaki on November 24, although the Vatican has yet to confirm the trip.
Arriving in Tokyo on November 23, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Emperor Naruhito would welcome the Pope, who on November 25 would preside over a Mass in Tokyo’s Dome Stadium.
Last May, the Pope wrote two letters, promising his prayer for the citizens of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, in response to the Mayors and the Governor of the Hiroshima Prefecture, who invited him.
Pope Francis “not only condemned” for the first time “the use of nuclear arms” but also their “possession,” in an address he gave in 2017,” points out “Japan Today.”
Nuclear Non-Proliferation
The trip would be the second of a Pope to Japan, following John Paul II’s visit in February 1981. Pope Wojtyla took part in a television broadcast, which had great success. However, most important of all was his visit to the park of the Memorial of Peace in Hiroshima, the Urakami Tenshudo Catholic church in Nagasaki and a residence of “hibakusha,” Japanese still suffering today from the effects of radiation.
For Pope Francis, it would be the realization of a dream he had as a young Jesuit to go to Japan, but his health ruled out the possibility. In 1958, when he was 22, when he decided to enter the Society of Jesus, he wished to be a missionary in Japan, However, at the end of his noviciate, his request was refused due to respiratory problems.
The first Jesuit to become Pope, he would be following in the steps of Saint Francis Xavier, who introduced Christianity in Japan in 1549.
The Pontiff was officially invited to visit Japan by Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in June 2014. On May 2, 2018, Tomihisa Taue, Mayor of Nagasaki, sent a letter to Pope Francis signed by him and by the Mayor of Hiroshima, Kazumi Matsui, inviting him to their two cities, targets of atomic bombs in August 1945, leaving 110,000 dead instantly and at least the same number after being exposed to radiations.
The Japanese “understand the price of peace,” observed Monsignor Paul Richard Gallagher, the Holy See’s Secretary for Relations with States, at the end of his trip to the Land of the Rising Sun from January 28 to February 3, 2017.
Not to Identify Christianity and the West
This journey would also mark the path toward the 2020 International Nuclear Non-Proliferation Conference. It will also be the occasion to debunk the false identification between the West and Christianity, which is an obstacle for the Japanese to adhere to the Gospel: they believe they would be unfaithful to the homeland if they asked for Baptism. After all, was it not baptized individuals who triggered the atomic bombs? Baptism often means marginalizing one’s family.
Speaking to the press on the Rome-Panama flight last January 23, the Holy Father said he would go to Japan in November.
An Apostolic Journey to Japan is “being studied” at present, confirmed the interim Director of the Holy See Press Office, Alessandro Gisotti. “As the Pope has already said on other occasions, he has a great desire to go to that country,” added the spokesman.
In 1973, as Provincial of the Jesuits in the Argentine, the Pope received the Superior General of the Society, Father Pedro Arrupe, “who embodies the contemporary Jesuit epic in Japan,” and whose process of Canonization opened in November 2018.
Father Jesus Pedro Arrupe, who was elected Superior General of the Society in 1965, died in 1991. He was Master of Novices present in Hiroshima on August 6, 1945. None of them were affected by the bomb’s radiation, which led him to say that “Jesus’ Heart is more powerful than the atomic bomb.”
Meetings in the Vatican
Pope Francis met Mrs. Setsuko Thurlow, a survivor of the Hiroshima bomb, as well as a delegation carrying the Hiroshima Flame, last March 20 in St. Peter’s Square.
And last week, on June 19, during the General Audience, he greeted young Japanese of Nagasaki of the Youth Peace Messengers Association.
They came from Japan to re-launch initiatives worldwide so that those terrible events aren’t forgotten and that such tragedies aren’t repeated, indicated L’Osservatore Romano on June 20.
With them also in St. Peter’s Square was a group of the Japanese Television chain Nippon Television Network Corporation, directed by Yorisha Kono who made a documentary on the photo taken by Joseph Roger O’Donnell.
The Pope commented on the photo, evoked several times as an eloquent symbol of the consequences of the Nagasaki tragedy. It represents a boy with his small brother, who died in the atomic bombardment, waiting his turn to incinerate the body.
The Pope’s greeting card, wishing peace on the occasion of the New Year 2018, was under the sign “No” to nuclear arms. It included the photo of the young boy carrying his small dead brothers to the Nagasaki crematorium (Japan, August 9, 1945), with the comment in Italian: “The fruit of war.”
In a telegram sent on Thursday, June 2, 2019, the Holy Father expressed his ”cordial greetings” and “best wishes” to His Imperial Majesty Naruhito, Japan’s new Emperor, on the occasion of his accession to the throne.
“I assure you of my prayer so that you are endowed with the gifts wisdom and strength in your devoted service to the nation,” wrote the Pontiff in English.
He also invoked “divine blessings of peace and wellbeing” on the new Emperor, on the members of the Imperial Family and on all the Japanese people.
On May 1, Naruhito, 59, officially succeeded his father Akihito, who chose to abdicate after a 30-year reign.
In an interview with L’Osservatore Romano on July 20, 2018, Cardinal Thomas Aquinas Manyo Maeda, Archbishop of Osaka, who was born in the Archdiocese of Nagasaki and was also a Pastor at Hiroshima — the two martyr cities of the nuclear folly –, discussed the role of the Church in an increasingly secularized Japan.
Finally, on February 8, 2017, Pope Francis hailed the beatification of Samurai martyr Takayama Ukon (1552-1615), which took place the day before in Japan. An example of “strength in the faith,’ said the Pope.

Part 4 - Orientation
Down the Voltage Rabbit Hole is an ongoing story about our MC, who could easily be anyone in voltage fandom. She woke up in hospital bed only to discover that she’d somehow been transported Voltage universe:
Part 1 (Down the Voltage Rabbit Hole)
Part 2 (The Tres Spades)
Part 3 (The King, The Prince, and the Lion)
Tumblr media
Part 4 - Orientation
Teorus leaned close to Soryu, who sat staring at me in a catatonic state. He reached out with a gloved finger and poked the gangster’s cheek. Behind him Karno silently gazed out the penthouse window, admiring the view, as sounds of Aigonorus slumbering filled the suite. In front of me stood Leon, Huedhaut, and Tauxolouve. They’d been taking turns staring into my eyes, looking for stars, but to no avail. It was clear that my existence was a bit of an enigma to them as they bickered amongst themselves, trying to formulate a plan to get me home. Even though in this world, I was no fallen goddess, they were still able to tell that I was out of place.
All six of them were beautiful, and yet I found myself attracted to none of them. Their outfits reminded me of bad regional theater, and there was something unsettling about how graceful their mannerisms were, if only because they reminded me how inelegant I was. Leon especially, struck me as a man who would take longer to get ready than I would, which is perhaps one of my biggest pet peeves, having always been fairly low-maintenance.
“Goldfish,” Leon finally called out. “Can we get back to you?”
I sighed.
“I suppose I don’t have much of a choice.”
I’m not entirely sure why I thought these Gods would have the ability to solve my problem any more than any other character in this universe, but it was becoming clear to me that they offered just as little insight as the bidders would. If I was going to figure out a way home, it would probably be up to me to do so.
WIth that said, before Teo could snap his fingers and restart time I turned to Leon and asked, “In the meantime, would you help me with something?”
Tumblr media
Time restarted, the Gods excused themselves, and Soryu awoke from his catatonic slumber to find me unpacking a suitcase. Seeing as how I had no money, and no clothes, I figured if I was going to pretend to wait around for the Wishes Gods to solve my problem, I might was well have them materialize a change of clean clothes and underwear. I learned that with the Gods, nothing is simple, and in order to get this one suitcase, I had to allow the six of them to contribute. My underwear ranged from comfortable and practical hip hugging boy shorts (thank you Karno), to a scrap of silk fabric that Tauxolouve insisted was a tasteful thong.
I couldn’t complain though. Without that suitcase I’d be stuck wearing the utilitarian outfit I’d arrived in, with dirty underwear no less. In addition to the practical items like deodorant, and toothpaste, Tauxolouve had also insisted on providing me with jewelry. I graciously accepted his gift, full well knowing I’d pawn it tomorrow in exchange for some much needed cash. With that one visit from the Gods, I was back on my feet, and had hope that I’d at least last the week in this strange new world. Soryu looked puzzled as I held the barely there thong in my hands, before bashfully looking away.
Tumblr media
“That’s right”, I thought to myself, a lightbulb going off, “he’s actually pretty shy and innocent.” I purposefully took out the matching barely there bralette, in the hopes it would cause Soryu such an extreme amount of discomfort, he’d leave me to my own devices. Instead, his face turned a deeper shade of red, and he took a mystery novel off the table in front of him and started reading - Midnight Murder by Kazumi Kagami. Hoping to provoke him further I took out the sleeping clothes Tauxolouve had given me (and by clothes I mean a sheer nightgown that felt as if it belonged on Elizabeth Berkley in Showgirls). I held it up and stealthily stole a glance at Soryu through the translucent fabric. His cheeks were still burning, and it appeared that he wasn’t reading at all. “Where’d that stuff come from?” he finally muttered.
“Dunno. Someone brought it while you were sleeping. My guess is Baba,” I said, holding up the chemise.
“Probably.” I had more to say, but stopped myself.
I could not be lured into a false sense of security just because I had a change of clothes and some money in my pocket. I dug through the suitcase and pulled out the clothes Aigo had given me for sleeping - a matching sweatshirt and sweatpants set that was softer than anything I’d ever felt in my life. I said a quiet prayer of thanks to Aigo, and wordlessly headed to take a shower. Much to my relief, Soryu didn’t follow me.
I fell asleep on the couch that night, only to wake up in one of twin beds in Soryu’s room. It was clear to me that he had carried me while sleeping to the bed, and taken my spot on the couch. If I had been anyone other than me, I would have been charmed...but I knew better.
At breakfast, I allowed him to struggle as he tried making something for himself, and watched in silence as he cursed intermittently under his breath at the eggs that wouldn’t seem to cook properly. I wanted, so desperately, to just make him a nice omelette and call it a day, but I knew that any act of kindness could be misinterpreted, and thus, I let him continue to struggle, burning plate after plate after plate of eggs.
“Oi.” He grunted at me. “Do you cook?”
“Depends. Do you know a good pawn shop?”
“Yes,” he said, with a puzzled expression.
“Then I can give it a try.”
Tumblr media
I purposely overcooked his eggs. They were edible of course, but I made sure they weren’t great. I dropped the plate in front of him, and pushed my phone towards him.
“Deals a deal,” I said, trying my best to ensure my actions couldn’t be misinterpreted as flirtatious, or even cute for that matter.
Soryu took a bite of his food and smirked. It was the first semblance of a smile I’d seen on him since I arrived. He took my phone, entered an address, and pushed it back to me.
“You scared of me?”
I shook my head no. I took the phone, and put it in my jacket pocket.
“You don’t say much, do you?”
I shrugged, “Nothin’ to say.”
“You’re not like other women. You’re different.”
It was in that moment that I realized my plan to not speak had fucked me royally. Soryu hated most women. He hated how they yammered on and on, he hated their perfume, and how superficial they were, and here I was deciding to be all utilitarian and silent.
“It’s ‘cuz I’m terrified of you!” I blurted out. “I lied before. You’re scary. Your face is terrifying. I just need those papers so I’m trying not to get myself killed, you know?”
It came out as word vomit, and anyone with half a brain could see that I wasn’t being honest. Soryu smiled at me kindly and reached his large hand out. He patted my head affectionately.
“The eggs are good.”
I pulled away and yelled, “No they’re not! They’re overcooked.”
“They’re better than I can do.”
“That’s just because you suck at cooking.”
He laughed and said, “See. You’re not scared of me.”
“Sure I am! You’re the Prince of the Ice Dragons.”
He wasn’t buying it.
“I’ll get you those papers today,” he said, gazing at me warmly. “What’s your name?”
“Ami Mizuno.”
“Ami. That’s a pretty name.”
It wasn’t mine. I’d only blurted it out because it was the only Japanese name I could think of in the moment, other than Sailor Moon’s earth name and no one in their right mind would think an American would be named Usagi.
But...there he was, gazing into my eyes and calling me Ami. I was in deep, deep trouble.
I had accidentally chosen him as my love interest.
I fretted over the events of the morning as I arrived at my staff meeting/maid-training orientation ten minutes early. The manager Kenzaki gave me a nod of approval as I introduced myself with my new name.
“Ami - it’s nice to meet you. Mr. Ichinomiya alerted me you’d be starting today.”
“I’m looking forward to working with you,” I said bowing slightly. “I’m going to do my best!”
Tumblr media
Kenzaki seemed satisfied at my MC impression, and moved on to start the meeting. I recognized all of them - Sakiko, Chisato, even Erika and the twins. For the most part, they operated within the parameters I’d grown accustomed to. After the meeting, Sakiko and Chisato instantly added their TalkTime information in my phone, while Erika bitched and moaned to Kenzaki about the fact that I’d be working in the penthouse. From there, Sakiko and Chisato taught me how to make a bed. I attempted to do it as flawlessly as they could but truth be told I wasn’t a bed-making kind of girl. Despite going from room to room, making the beds poorly, for some reason they praised me for being a fast learner. I also noticed that when I cleaned, it didn’t matter if it was correct or sloppy - either way they informed me I was doing great, and that they couldn’t believe it was my first day. After a few hours of this, I was sent me up to the penthouse where I found Mamoru lounging, lit cigarette in hand. Before him, the table had somehow accumulated more dirty glasses. I looked at the mess for a minute, and then, remembering what happened during orientation, grabbed a large trash bin and threw a glass into it. Much to my surprise, the glass disappeared, only to reappear on the drink cart a few feet away, completely spotless. I laughed to myself at the newfound cleaning powers this new world had gifted me, and in a sweeping motion pushed every item on the table into the trash bag. Just like before, everything reappeared where it should, and even the previously dirty table was now sparkling. “Sorry,” Mamoru mumbled. “Your asthma…” He put his cigarette out and smiled at me, before stretching back out on the couch, and falling asleep like a lazy cat. The gesture to put his cigarette out for me had been a sweet one, but I had to remain vigilant. I was fairly sure I'd triggered a romantic route this morning and I didn't want to find out if triggering more was a possibility. I quietly took my magic trash bin with me and headed towards the suites, careful not to wake him.
Similarly to how the penthouse lounge went, bed making, and cleaning of the suites was a breeze. My celebration was short lived, as I began to fret more and more that the ease to which I’d taken to my new profession was merely a side effect of becoming the object of Soryu’s affection.
As I finished Eisuke’s suite, the last on my list, I found myself sinking into a pit of despair. What if I was stuck in this universe for the rest of my life? What then? Could I be happy here?
From Eisuke’s penthouse window, I gazed out on a version of Tokyo that I’d barely explored, and with my cleaning done for the day, headed to the locker room to change out of my uniform. I slipped out of the hotel unnoticed, headed straight for the pawn shop Soryu had recommended, and left with my pockets full of yen.
The errand itself took less time than I expected, and with the desire to think over my next moves carefully, I entered the first bar I saw and ordered myself a drink. In retrospect it had been careless to not even glance up at the name of the pub, but at the time I was far too stressed to do anything other than drink.
My mind was finally free to think as I sipped the “Asahay” beer before me. I was out of survival mode, and could potentially figure out how to gracefully exit the route I was currently in. I decided to buy some strong smelling perfume on the way back, but I contemplated if that in itself would be enough to deter Soryu from falling in love with me. One drink became two. Two became three. And three made it difficult for me to stand. As I slammed my cash down on the counter, the bartender looked at me with a concerned expression. “Miss,” he said. “Have some water before you go.”
“I’m faiiiiiiine.”
“Just - wait two seconds ok?”
I rolled my eyes, in a drunken attempt to deter him from falling in love with me too. This whole damn world was full of landmines disguised as men and I wasn’t going to trigger any more of them.
“What is it Agasa?” I heard a man, a few seats down ask.
“That girl - I don’t want her walking home unattended, you know?”
“I’m FINE!” I insisted.
I wasn’t fine. The room was spinning. Even if this was all an illusion it was a fairly convincing one as I felt pretty damn drunk. “Sure you are,” a handsome man with a kind smile said as he strolled over to me, hands in his pockets. “But I’ve had too much to drink, and I’m hoping you’ll see me home.” “I’m not about to walk home with some random dude. I’m sober enough to know that’s a worse idea than walking home alone at this hour.” “Oh!” he exclaimed, pulling his wallet out. “But I’m not just some dude...I’m a cop. You can trust me...see?” I squinted, hoping to focus my eyes long enough to read the name on the badge before me: Hiroshi Kirisawa.
Tumblr media
"Am I at Station?"
Hiroshi nodded, "You know this place? I'm surprised. I come here a lot and...I would have remembered you." He smiled that kind, boyish smile at me once more with a faint blush in his cheeks. I cursed myself for not being more aware of my surroundings, and then (I would be told) promptly passed out in his arms.

Volgograd Russia trip - 1
Katiya, I know her for 18 years. We met in language school in NYC. I really liked her since beginning because of her straightforward, very direct word choices. It was easy to understand who she is. It’s not because we didn’t speak english well at the time, she is still the same, always pretty honest, and bit spicy… She is such a strong, beautiful Russian woman. Very beautiful, but she doesn't like to be in photograph.
I had a chance to visit her family in Russia with her last year in July. I arrived a day before than she arrived, and stayed with her parents by myself for a night.   I was super ill, I think I got food poisoning few days before arriving to her parents home,  while traveling Moscow and St Petersburg with my parents.
I don’t speak Russian, and they don’t speak English nor Japanese. So I was quite nervous…  But Katherine says “my mom is ready for sick Kazumi”. I arrived not eating two days, with dark circle around my eyes.  Her brother picked me up at airport.  The first thing we did was to speak using Google Translate. (thank you technology! ) And her mom asked me “eat” or “shower”. So I said “shower”. She said hot water run out at their house, so we gonna go next door to take shower…..
Katiya was told me her stories of childhood when I visited her in New York few months before this Russia trip.
She grow up in communist time in Russia. She experienced the big change, communism time to democracy when she was teen. She explained what was life in communist time. She said it was such a fun time. To be honest, I was not expecting to hear that. She said there were hunger, but felt safe and everyone was so close each other. Her neighbor was like her extended family, doors were always open, so kids can run around freely.
I had imagination in my head about her apartment where she grow up, and what was like that neighbors are all her family…
And now I am experiencing, I went to take a shower in next door apt at first day in Volgograd.
Her mom was really ready for me, because of her foods and lots of love, I recovered very quickly.  I could able to go the city tour with Kati’s dad next day!
カティアのお母さんは 本当に準備万端で待っててくれて 彼女の食事とケアのおかげで 次の日には ボルゴグラードの街をカティアのお父さんと見て回れるほど回復した。
To be continue…

Just Some Last Minute Adventures!
Well a lot has happened since my last blog with many trips with great company! The time is flying by! Let me tell you all I’ve been up to since my last blog in May!
Tumblr media
On May 20th, the girls and I decided to head to Fuji-Q Highland, a popular amusement park in Yamanashi! We had a lot of fun! We 1st did this new rollercoaster that strapped you in 3 ways. It was a crazy ride that we waited 2 hours to get on. I did not enjoy it all that much. Lol It whipped my head around a lot. Then we went on something similar to the Space Shot. Now that I liked! :) Then we had lunch. I had a Fujiyama pizza that looked like Mt. Fuji. Lol Then we went on the FujiYama roller coaster. This ride wasn’t as bad. I enjoyed it. Then Ashley and Madi rode the final rollercoaster that I opted out of because it seemed to have too many turns for my liking. And I think I made a good choice because when they came out they both looked like they were a little nauseous and in shock. Lol Then the park was about to close so Ashley and I decided to go on a ride similar to the log ride. LOVE WATER RIDES. It was funny though because the ride provided rain ponchos for $1 so that you wouldn’t get as wet… Where’s the fun in that?! So Ashley and I were the only one’s to not wear ponchos and we got drenched! It was great. Lol
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Afterwards, Giseli had invited us to The Vault and we couldn’t pass that up so we went for a while. We had a fun filled day! :D
The next day, March 21st, we had plans to hike Shosenkyo with Natsuko! The hike was fun! I rode my bike to Natsuko’s then we picked up Madi and Ashley. We parked and walked the trail up to the waterfall. Such a beautiful sight! Then we took the ropeway to the top and hiked a little farther while Ashley rested. Probably one of my favorite places so far! Absolutely beautiful scenery! Then we went back down, had a quick snack, then left for home.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
On May 27th, we headed to Tokyo for the weekend and had a very busy day planned. We first took a 2 hour train to Hakone to visit the Open Air Museum. That was pretty neat. I think we would’ve been able to enjoy it better if we weren't on a timetable but still cool! We left around 1:30pm to head back to Tokyo.
Tumblr media
We got to Odaiba around 4:30pm. There were so many people! We got a spot along the beach and just hung out until the show started at 7:30pm.
Tumblr media
The show was amazing! You didn’t know where to look! There were dancing entertainers, people on Flyboards, and then fireworks all at the same time! We were also given these bracelets that lit up to the songs that were playing! It was so cool!
Tumblr media
Afterwards, we left to go get ready for our bar’s anniversary party. So. Much. Fun. At one point, I was talking with Tabatha and I said something in Japanese and these group of guys then kind of looked at me like “What?” And so I started talking to them forgetting I was still on the phone with Tabatha. Lol I eventually remember and quickly was like “Sorry. Sayounara!” I guess one of the guys thought I was talking to him and looked so sad. I had to explain that I was on the phone and was saying goodbye to my cousin. Lol We then decided to go to a Karaoke bar! It was a lot of fun!
Tumblr media
Since Madi had her family in town Ashley and I decided to hang out! On June 3rd, we got together for some lunch, watched a movie, and then headed out to the The Vault. Madi had decided to take her family there too! So we got to all hang out for a little bit. It was a fun night!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
On Sunday, June 4th, I got ready for the Welcoming Ceremony for the Des Moines students and teachers.
It was nice. I got to meet with two of my Japanese students who are hosting some of the American students…
Tumblr media
Afterwards both Kazumi and Natsuko were like let’s have a party! Lol So I went home to change and then met Ashley at our Cafe downtown. Kazumi said to be there around 4pm so Ashley and I just waited at the Cafe until about that time but we should’ve came sooner because everyone was taking naps when we arrived and we definitely could have used the nap! Lol Kazumi did let us take a little power nap which was nice. Then we ate and talked and it was fun!
Tumblr media
Then we went to Natsuko’s and played games with Joe and Ke. Those boys are adorable!
Tumblr media
On June 6th, after school, we went to dinner with Greg and the other teachers. I think we overwhelmed our Indian restaurant owner… Lol Oops. It was nice though. We then went to The Vault for drinks but I quickly left for Hot Yoga. Boy was that an experience… lol
Tumblr media Tumblr media
On June 9th, I went to go meet Hannah in Yokohama. When we both got to Yokohama Station it took us forever to find each other! But we did and we had dinner and made it to the bus station on time to head to Hiroshima!
On June 10th, we arrived in Hiroshima around 9am. We first stopped at the A-Dome and then slowly made our way toward the Airbnb to drop off our luggage.
Then we went and had lunch and went shopping down a famous shopping street in Hiroshima.
Tumblr media
Then we went into the museum. It has changed so much just since Madi and I were there in March! Looks nice. I’m excited to someday see the final product.
On June 11th, we got up early and had breakfast and made our way to Miyajima. We got there about 10:30am. It was a very gloomy day so I decided the ropeway wasn’t worth it.
So we took your typical pictures at the floating shrine, did some shopping, and toured the island a little.
Tumblr media
Then we left to go back to our Airbnb and grab our luggage and to catch our bus back to Tokyo. This bus was much nicer. Not as nice as the one Madi and I went on but still nice.
We landed in Shinjuku around 8:30am, Monday, June 12th. We stopped and got some breakfast and then went to Harajuku to drop off our luggage at a storage locker. Then we went shopping and walked around. I also took her to Shibuya station where the famous scramble crosswalk is. All around I think we had a good weekend!
Tumblr media
I had to get back to Kofu since I had to work the next day.
Finally, Hannah arrived, Wednesday night after volleyball! That was another fun experience trying to find her. She had taken a taxi but the taxi driver didn’t understand where I lived and so I told him Kokubo Onsen and still couldn’t figure it out! But I found them so it all worked out. LOL
The next day, Thursday, June 15th, we decided to head to Kawaguchiko Lake to tour around there and to go to 5th Station on Mt. Fuji.  The weather in Kofu said 85 but in Kawaguchiko it said 75 so I said to bring a jacket. Thank gosh because by the time we got up the mountain it had dropped to 45 degrees and we were not dressed for that weather. Lol I had to buy a long sleeve shirt. Also, it was super cloudy so we couldn’t even see Mt. Fuji. :(
Tumblr media
I hope she had fun. We also took a rope way up a different mountain but you still couldn’t see Fuji.
On Friday, June 16th, Hannah left for the Airport. I had to go to work as it was sports day and a beautiful day for it too! 90 degrees!
So I went to Midorigaoka to watch my kiddos play!
I started off watching softball. Minami is so good! Then I went to watch Track for a bit. Then Madi went to watch her softball girls while I stayed and mingled with my kids and watched Tennis.
Tumblr media
Then we went to Denny’s for lunch and headed back for one last event that I didn’t want to miss. Shot put. :) And I’m so glad I didn’t! Now, I’m not completely sure what happened or how far he threw (Kinari) but he either beat a school record or he made a personal record. Either way I’m glad I got to see it. :)
Tumblr media
Then I went to Haneda to pick up Tab!
On Saturday, June 17th, we went and got the baseball tickets from the Voyagins office. Then we made our way to Yokohama Stadium.
It was pretty hot but not terrible. The worst part was fitting my huge American size self into a Japanese sized chair… Lol very squished. But the game was fun! Yokohama won!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tab and I ended the night at my favorite bar and it was so much fun!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Friday, June 23rd, Tab and I headed off to Kyoto! So we made it to all of our trains on time and were in Kyoto by 2:15pm!
We went to Kinkaku-ji Temple first as we had time before our hotel check-in.
Tumblr media
Then we went and got checked into our hotel. We were very confused as to where the lobby was located because it was connected to a huge mall and what we later learned was the entrance to the lobby we thought was the entrance to a restaurant. Lol
We then just relaxed for a while and then headed out to an area called Pontocho We found a place along the river. It was super expensive for small portions but the view was really cool!
Tumblr media
We decided to go to a bar that we saw from across the river. It was actually pretty fun! We thought for a while that it was like an old man’s club lol but we were welcomed and really enjoyed ourselves. Lol They even performed for us it was so cool. :)
Tumblr media
On Saturday, June 24th, we went to Arashiyama which was really fun. We saw monkeys, cats, owls, and then headed to Nara to the deer park. :) It was a fun animal filled day.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The next day, June 25th, we got up and headed out to Kiyomizu-dera only to learn that it is under construction for the next year or so. So that was a bummer. While there though some middle schooler’s were on a school trip and came up to Tab and I and asked us questions in English for an assignment. :)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then we went to Osaka to see the famous Aquarium located there. The aquarium was pretty neat although it was very crowded but still cool!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then we got on a pirate looking boat and took a 45 minute tour around the bay.
Tumblr media
Then we decided to just head back to Kyoto for dinner and our last night out. It was fun! Met a girl who had done an exchange program in High School to Iowa! Her and her friends all speak English! I think it was a well spent last night in Kyoto.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I took Tab to my Japanese class on Wednesday, June 27th, and it was a lot of fun! During class she gave some of her home-made plum wine. We all first took it like a shot because it was just a little and then Natsuko was like “This is for sipping not for taking shots”. Lol It was very funny.
On Wednesday, June 28th, I took Tab after school to Minami where my teacher and principal waited for us to give us a tour and to mingle a little bit. It was cool. I think Tab enjoyed seeing where I work and how different the schools are here compared to America.
Well that’s all for now! Tomorrow I get ready for my last day at Nansei, Tab leave to go back to the States on Sunday, and Monday I start my last month at Minami and in Japan. Should be a whirlwind of emotions and adventures!
Only 30 more days until I am back in the States!!!
School Stories:
-So all teachers have to get physicals but in Japan the doctors come to you. It was quite interesting! They had stations set up with eye check ups, blood tests, height/weight, heart monitoring, etc. It was very odd for me having all that be done at the school. Lol Afterwards I learned that we will get a “report card” with a grade and everything about our health. Bring on the “F”! Lol
-Then in one  of my 2nd grade classes one of my kids was helping another student spell “SEAT” but spelled it “SHIT” Lol I had to correct him and inform him that the other word was bad… hopefully he doesn’t use it. Lol
