Strangely, Ian B often gets stopped and asked if he's a musician. I mean, he is a singer and multi-instrumentalist, but it's weird that people ask.

Today and the Grocery Outlet (🎵 Bargain Market 🎶) we were looking at olive oil and some dude stopped Ian B, asked if he was a musician and tried to recruit him into some sort of project.

As he continued to talk to Ian B I distracted myself with other Grocery Outlet treasures like jelly belly flavored sparkling water and was confounded as to why Mike and Ike cookies exist and seriously considered buying a discount improbable skeleton of a 2 headed cobra for @kdhume

I ❤️ Grocery Outlet.

Also, it was the twice a year 20% wine sale with an extra 10% off with the app. I have much wine.

urban fantasy - have you ever met anyone you’re sure must secretly be some kind of magical creature?Not a magical creature per se, but the first person who came to mind was an archery camp counselor who had straight-up golden eyes and a devilish smile. I wasn’t a religious kid growing up, but even so I suspected this dude might be a demon.

horror - do you like haunted houses?I like fun, whimsical spookiness, but not scariness. Especially not jump scares. Not for me!

I just finished @kdhume‘s book yesterday and you should all read it.

It’s emotional, it’s fast paced and it’ll leave you wondering and excited all the way to the end. It paints such vivid pictures and the way it develops its characters makes me want to go back and read it all over again.

The crow lights my mom got me broke already, but I have this branch above my bed that I'm hanging charms from. I'll be sitting here for SASS Witch Con so I may as well add some more to charms to give people something interesting to look at in my background.

So far there's a tiny broom, a glass acorn, my "industrial hagstones" that's really just a giant rusted washer, and a sleep charm gifted to me by @kdhume, who will also be presenting at SASS Witch Con! I have an old messy shambles I can hang too. We'll see what else wants to come along for the ride.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised at how much organizing this event is as scrappy and DIY and charming as organizing a zine fest. Right down to the meetings once a month, meetings every other week, meetings every week and meetings almost everyday for 2 weeks. We came together out of a Facebook group and now I have 4 really great friends I hope to meet in person some day.

I'm also glad that we are going with the same kind of community spirit as zine fest. We aren't looking for a key note speaker or "experts in their field" we are hosting conversations with knowledgeable, curious people who want to share their perspective and how they make magic work in their own lives. While we do have some materialist atheists presenting, we feel we have left room for mystery and imagination in a magical experience.

Sorry for gushing. I'm just really proud of what we have been able to bring together on a shoestring budget and wishful thinking.
