I just wanna point out that now that Strelitzia is confirmed to KH4 and the KH3 secret ending showed the Foretellers return that Ventus is probably not gonna be having a good time during the events of KH4 and therefore we should expect a lot of angst coming the Wayfinder Trio’s way.

I love how they chose to show Strelitzia in the very first KH4 trailer we got. For multiple reasons, excluding the obvious "because she's one of my favourite characters".

1. It gives the time to those who haven't played KHUX to catch up with the story. Like, the trailer basically said "hey you know this girl that was shown for like 5 min in the mobile game you don't care about? Well now you'd better learn a little more about her because she's going to be really important for the next game". At the end of kh3 people might have thought "oh I just need to watch back cover cutscenes since we saw the foretellers and it tells their story", but now they quite literally have to watch KHUX too. As they should.

2. It gives Strelitzia a pretty direct link to Sora and thus, links Sora more tightly to the next story. Let me explain.

Sora has pretty much finished his mission, hasn't he? He defeated Xehanort, brought all of his friends back, even those he never met (Xion my beloved) and the only thing he had to do was to find a way back after "dying". But nothing linked him to the foretellers nor to the union leaders story, and I was afraid that Yen Sid would just ask Sora to save the day again without having any other reason to do so than because he was the hero and that's what heroes do. (when Sora is in fact just a child and needs a huge nap for the next ten years or so)

Now to get back to Strelitzia. We still don't know much about her, but her connections with the living characters are pretty thin- she is linked to Lauriam and Elrena who will be recompleted for the next game for sure, and to the foretellers. Where is Sora in this? Nowhere. That's why it's so great. This is creating bonds between the characters and that's what Kingdom Hearts is about. Sora is fighting to save his friends from the very beginning and he keeps on doing so. That's what pushes him forward.

By meeting Strelitzia now, Sora creates that bond that will push him naturally to the next story, without him being an external intervention in a story he isn't a part of. During Kh3 we saw multiple times that Sora, when he doesn't know anything about the world, tries to help people if possible, but only against the heartless, or for simple tasks. He doesn't fight other people for others, at least until he becomes friends with them. Then he can intervene, because he's not doing so as a keyblade wielder, he's doing so as a friend. So during the conflict between with the foretellers, Sora will be able to intervene as a friend, as he always did.

Tl;dr : I'm so glad we saw Strelitzia again and I can't wait for kh4

Okay I really just want to talk about the animation style of the KH4 trailer because I’m thinking about the conversation I had with my sister when it first came out again

So to begin, I am usually not a fan of realistic CG animation. It’s incredibly easy to make it soulless and difficult to identify characters and not have a unique identity to it. It’s often just a way of showing off “hey, look how powerful our processors are!” It also frequently isn’t as good as it’s trying to be and can very easily hit the uncanny valley.

These are not opinions I’ve really kept a secret, especially from people I know in real life, so my sister initially expected that I would hate the animation style in that trailer.

But I don’t! I love it! And there are several reasons why I think that is.

1.) The characters are easy to identify. At no point in the trailer does anyone say “that’s Sora” or “that’s Strelitzia”— they don’t need to. Part of that is that Sora’s and Strelitzia’s preexisting character designs are already well done and distinctive, true, but it’s still a point in its favor.

2.) The characters are emotive. We don’t see a lot of them in the trailer, but we see Sora confused and later determined, and we see Strelitzia happy to see him awake. I’ve had a lot of trouble being able to tell what emotions that characters animated in similar styles have been expressing, so the fact that Sora and Strelitzia are so expressive is a solid point in its favor.

3.) Kingdom Hearts has a history of using different art styles to denote different locations and the overall vibes thereof. It’s such an iconic part of the series that they reference it in one of Sora’s smash bros costumes. KH4/Quadratum isn’t done in realistic CG out of a lack of creativity, love, or effort, it’s done because it’s part of the series’ style.

In conclusion I wanted to be an animator from ages 12-16 and I never got much put towards it but I’m still a fucking nerd.

I've read most of the pre-disney star wars comics, including the strips from the 70s and 80s, and many of the post Disney comics

I played all the Lego star wars games as a kid and then paid to play them again with the Skywalker saga

the 2003 clone wars specials are some of my favorite animated media ever, and I've watched the clone wars series several times over

I rewatch the OT and PT about every 3 months and actually force people to celebrate may the 4th and may the 6 with me

I own star wars Lego sets. Yes the small ones, but even those are overpriced. Still own them though.

I've watched most of the Disney+ cashgrabs shows

when I went to comic con the only thing I bought was a han solo art print that I got signed by the artist (I then left early because I have autism and had an autistic meltdown. I haven't gone to a convention since but I want to try them again, so if you're autistic give me tips you use at conventions pls!!)

Strelitzia is actually Experiment X and it's not hard to see why

Since Skuld being Experiment X is almost disproved because of the time stamps relating to Missing Link... I have another theory

Who X truly is that nobody else have ever thought of—

It's Strelitzia

But first I'm going to discuss why Skuld theory no longer works

Spoilers for Melody of Memory, Union X, and Luxu's identity

There is a theory that Skuld is X, the person that was founded by Ansem and experimented on. X is also what drove Isa (Saïx) and Lea (Axel) to do what they did. They often talked to her and planned to help her escape but before they could she was moved. they planned to infiltrate the organization to save her, however they soon lost sight of what their goal was.

In Missing Link it is noted it is place full of Ephemer's descendants. However, in Dark Road, Xehanort has a "dream" vision when talking to (Player) of the adventures Player had and refers that a girl with dark hair (Skuld) looking like his mom.

It is noted that X had amnesia and it seems many people after going through the time travel pods loose memories. Kairi who was experimented and forced to travel to destiny Islands forgot her memories as well. Ven forgot his memories (though it could be from abuse from Xehanort and being separated from Vanitas). But Player also loses their memories in KHML

Which is why it makes the most sense that Strelitzia is X.

It's probably implied they get together. Now his mother is implied to be Skuld meaning they had kids and then she has Xehanort awhile afterwards. This means after their time something happens for her and the others to come back. It wouldn't make sense for her to be X and then go back to Ephemer.

But what if he also took her to Ansem and he did experiments on her. After all, Luxu helped showed where Terra—Xehanort was so how come he couldn't do the same for Experiment X. Ansem then did experiments on her. After that Luxu eventually took her and brought her to Quadratum where she stays.

Strelitzia dies but after the dandelions go off, many of the characters see Strelitzia. It is even shown that Luxu or maybe even MOM might have taken Strelitzia somewhere else such as the Quadratum... Where we do end up seeing her in the KH4 trailer

It adds up the most and there's little reason why it can't work.

Sora being the Master of Masters just does not make any logical, emotional, or thematic sense. If anything, the MoM and Sora have been—and are continuing to be—set up as thematical opposites to one another, the MoM a jaded person who has lost so much to the forces of darkness, to the point where he will manipulate anyone around him in order to reach his end goal of living in a world without it, and Sora a positive optimist who, despite also enduring multiple hardships and losses due to darkness, also goes through many trials that prove that balance between the two forces is important, and that darkness is not an all-encompassing terror meant to be destroyed. 

Sora's whole Thing™ is about relying on connections and friendship despite physical distance, the idea that no matter where you are or what happens to you, those connections mattered and will always matter. He believes in individuality, the idea that characters like Roxas, Xion, Namine and even Vanitas are their own people, despite what other people may try and proclaim. Meanwhile, the MoM lives to avenge people who are long gone, forgetting the value of those relationships as they were simply because the people he cared for are no longer physically here. He strips his pupils of their individuality, giving them masks and names at his own discretion, and directing them like pawns on a chess board. 

These two are textbook foils to one another. The idea that the Master of Masters is somehow a grown up version of Sora who lost his friends to darkness and became a cynical, jaded mastermind trying to escape the concept of it altogether not only contradicts the existing lore about things like time travel (and specifically how the MoM does it), but is just a complete slap in the face to both of these characters as individuals.
