So Allura pulling out Earthbind was incredibly clutch but it also has me thinking

like

listen yes yes the fall of emon this, chroma conclave that, greatest failure, deep-rooted psychological trauma, eighty thousand people dead, smoking crater, horrific tragedy, etc, however

some part of her HAS to be utterly insufferably smug.

earthbind is situationally useful--it can be almost game-breakingly combat-altering in very specific circumstances--but it is, 95% of the time, completely fucking useless, and since she had absolutely no reason to have anticipated this particular battle she cannot possibly have prepared it the night before specially because she had no reason to think she’d need it.

which means she prepares Earthbind routinely and yeah yeah we COULD write essays about her trauma and the constant low-level fear that decision implies in her but I do also kind of feel 

like some part of her

some very very tiny part of her

is just in there like
