Lance paused mid-sentence and turned back to look at Keith when he blurted out those words, they had recently returned to the castle ship and Lance was about to head off to get something to eat and cool off, all the while complaining about something Keith had done on the mission and asking him WHY he insisted on going on every mission together lately, because all they had been doing was fight between each other which wasn't to unusual in itself it was more the frequency of the fighting.

Lance asked with wide eyes, of all the answers he had expected, that was the last one, he honestly thought that Keith was just doing all he could to just make Lance want to quit and it had almost worked, this last mission would have been the last straw, but now he was just confused by the sudden confession of love.
