"Girls! Girls! Girls!" EDIT
Paramount Pictures, 1962. Directed by Norman Taurog. Elvis Presley as Ross Carpenter and Laurel Goodwin as Laurel Dodge.
youtube
Cooking/Dinner scene and "The Walls Have Ears" number.
Believe it or not, the most interesting thing for me in that scene is not what you might be thinking. I like the lines very much, I adore Elvis' acting here and I also love (I reaaaally love) the dance number and this one song. For me, this is the best couple dance performance of Elvis in all his movies. ♡

Can you tell us anything about Charlotte?
charlotte is in slytherin because if she were sorted into hufflepuff the vicious feedback loop around her working all the time would make her burn out by the end of 4th year if not earlier. the sorting hat went 'ok you need to be around people who are more focused on ends than means so you will REACH A GOAL AND TAKE A BREATHER EVERY SO OFTEN'
she and regulus are childhood friends, in the sense that whenever they were put into a room together they would just read their own books in silence and completely ignore each other. top tier social interaction. both of them approved. they'd barely spoken to each other before starting at hogwarts
charlotte's biggest driving force behind her work ethic (and the reason she was sorted into slytherin instead of ravenclaw) is that she wants to feel like she's actively using her potential, not just resting on the laurels of having it. she's competitive - just not as open about it as emma is ajslkghlskdjf
she has an older brother corban, and their father is heir yaxley - charlotte's grandfather is the current lord
the reason evan ticks her off is because he's like, absolutely everything she never ever ever wants to be, and everyone seems to just LOOOOOOVE him for it, even people whose opinions charlotte otherwise very much respects (emma and regulus are top contenders there. plus like, lucinda, but she's not as close w evan), and she just doesn't get it
her friend group is all hufflepuffs except her, the token slytherin - her friends are rachel smith, penelope kirk, nicholas goodwin, and nathaniel burnett, rachel and nathaniel are hufflepuff prefects, and the reason charlotte wasn't participating in the conversation about rachel being obviously head over heels for arnold macmillan was that a) it's not interesting to her and b) it's Super old news as far as she's concerned
she's also good friends with joaquin alvarez and anne hopkins in ravenclaw! anne is also a prefect. a big reason that slughorn made charlotte a prefect (over lucinda, who's nicer, or maeve, who's higher status - emma was never a candidate, slughorn would never dream of asking her to pay attention to an extracurricular other than quidditch. she would not do it) is because she has a ton of friends in other houses, and slytherin is known for being insular, so slughorn is hoping she can be a living breathing counterexample to the idea that 'you have been sorted into slytherin, slytherin is your whole world now'
plus she's always at study groups and stuff so she's a role model for being studious and someone who has a proven ability to collaborate with others

Star Trek History...
Tumblr media
From the first rejected Star Trek pilot "The Cage", 1964-65.
Majel Barrett as Number One (no actual name ever given).
Jeffrey Hunter as Captain Christopher Pike.
Laurel Goodwin as Yeoman Colt.
None of these characters would be used in the second pilot. Yeoman Colt was dropped altogether with no explanation ever given. The Number One character was combined with the nascent Mister Spock to create the Spock we are familiar with.
The reasons for Hunter not returning for the second pilot are murky. Some accounts say that he preferred to concentrate on a film career rather than television. Others say that Roddenberry, unhappy with interference by Hunter's then-wife and manager Dusty Bartlett—had decided to re-cast the character. Whatever the reason, the Pike character did return in the re-cut first season episode "The Menagerie" that aired in 1966. Since Hunter was unavailable to reprise his role as Captain Pike, look-alike actor Sean Kenney played the injured captain in the new scenes.
Majel Barrett didn't appear in the second pilot but Roddenberry managed to keep her around for the series with the creation of the Nurse Chapel character.

Looks like it's going to be a Sharma family reunion
Tumblr media
Georgia Sharma is back in Emmerdale to ruffle feathers on the eve of her son Jai’s wedding to Laurel.
Originally played by Trudie Goodwin, the role will now be played by former EastEnders actress, Lin Blakley, who is delighted to be joining Emmerdale.
Known for speaking her mind, both her ex-husband Rishi, played by Bhasker Patel, and the soon to be married couple Laurel, played by Charlotte Bellamy and Jai, played by Chris Bisson are instantly at the mercy of her harsh opinions.
With the wedding day looming and the rift between Rishi and Jai showing no signs of abating, will Georgia be able to heal this fractured family?
Producer Kate Brook explains “'We're thrilled to have an actor of Lin's calibre step into the role of the formidable Georgia. A force to be reckoned with, she'll have a secret for the Sharma family that could potentially blow their world apart".
Actress Lin Blakley commented: “How lucky am I to play such a strong character as Georgia. So different from roles I’ve played of late. I have enjoyed every single minute. Gorgeous cast and crew!! And the gorgeous Dales. Thank you Emmerdale.”
It sounds like she's already finished filming though...
and I'm sure the secret is that Rishi's brother is Jai's bio dad and the cousin is his (half) brother.
