but actually why would the Djinn give Nandor more wishes? and how could he with a different lamp, isn't the mythology that a Djinn is tied to a specific object and whoever has that object controls them? and also we don't actually see Marwa turn into Freddie - Nandor has to walk through the house after the wish and just finds the Freddie copy
i desperately want the second lamp to turn out to be fake, the Freddie copy to be a decoy, and Marwa to be holed up in her soundproofed man cave with the lockable door and the original Djinn lamp that was, after all, part of her dowrie treasure

It's very much in keeping with all the characters being kind of clueless that Guillermo doesn't realize having Derek attempt to turn him DID bring him closer to to the others. It just wasn't in the way he thought.
Lazlo tried to find a solution to his partially transformed state. Nadja fought the doctor and the aides at the familiar hospital to keep them from killing Guillermo. Colin kept his secret even though usually Colin delights in doing things that bring out chaos. And when Nandor saw just how much distress being a vampire was causing Guillermo, he wanted very much to do something about it. That is very much an act of love. And all the members of the household were willing to go along with the fake ceremony.
I've long thought that Guillermo (and all familiars) want to become vampires because they feel insignificant and powerless. Taking a job as a familiar really seems to be the wrong way to prove you're fit to be granted significant power. And it's not as if Guillermo becoming a vampire is the only way for him to have an emotionally intimate relationship with Nandor. As I said in a previous post, Nandor can give the lamp to Guillermo and then Guillermo gets a set of wishes. He could wish Nandor to be human (which Nandor at one point wanted to be again). He could wish to be immortal without being a vampire. He could wish to be the owner of a biotech company that makes artificial blood and then be transformed when it's no longer necessary to take lives to be a vampire. I'm certain there are other ideas out there.
Everyone in the household has demonstrated in some way in season 5 they care about Guillermo. I've long thought for him to have a healthy relationship with Nandor his subservient status in which he's usually disregarded by the others had to end. And it has ended.
Perhaps that's why the Guide is a regular character now. She's the one who's usually disregarded by the household. And I have to wonder if her giving away info to the Baron and then to Nandor were not innocent slips. She may think if Guillermo is killed it may improve her chances to be an accepted member of the household.

HERE I AM I WATCHED THE FINALE
OKAY FIRST OF ALL IT WAS SO FUCKING GOOD AND ACKNOWLEDGED/BROUGHT BACK A LOT OF THINGS I HAD NOT VERY HIGH HOPES FOR
but i gotta be honest, the whole season did. it was fun and genuinely hilarious, while also acknowledging (maybe not doing something with it yet, but we have a whole other season already under go) some plot points like colin dreaming about his childhood with lazlo
THIS FINALE THOUGH
i honestly honestly honestly have to say, i would not have changed a single thing from it. it was INSPIRED. i want to talk about the theme of this season, the vampires are assholes and they will never be nice to each other, but they are a FAMILY and they care about each other so deeply
first of all we have the morrigan manor trap, which i enjoyed so much, and although the season did a great job at building up to this with a hundred little moments in the previous eps, i was still literally shook at seeing the vampires face the music. like wow the guide is really telling them off for how they treat her and guillermo. like, i felt it. and nadja and lazlo are like ok this could have been a conversation but fine heres some footage of us being nice about u behind your back, AND THATS SO LOVELY LIKE - MY DEAR WE ARE FUCKED UP CREATURES OF THE NIGHT WELL NEVER TELL YOU TO YOUR FACE THAT YOURE IMPORTANT TO US
and its like. this season does a lot to put all the previous seasons into perspective. i cant even begin to speak about nandor and his aversion to turning guillermo. like, CHRIST
anyway the moment where nandor finds out was SO fucking delicious i love you mr de laurentiis i am completely in love with you going insane going insane also like ive seen some DISAPPOINTMENT over this finale and im ???? speechless is it that they didnt kiss or fuck? NANDOR KNOWS GUILLERMO BETTER THAN HE KNOWS HIMSELF HE KNEW HE COULDNT BEAR KILLING HE KNEW HE WASNT READY AND WANNA BET HE ALSO KEPT HIS DISTANCE ALL THESE YEARS BECAUSE HE KNEW THAT WOULD ADD TO GUILLERMO WANTING TO BE WITH HIM FOREVER BUT HES TOO CODEPENDENT TO LET HIM GO WHAT!!! THIS SHIT IS DELICIOUS
LET THEM COOK
but where was i ah yes nandor finding out nandor staking out panera bread and talking to some rando about guillermo and nandor going to his mothers (vampire killer! so its like dangerous for him lbr) place once he found it within himself to let go of the humiliation and prioritize his feelings for guillermo. let that sink in. he didnt want to find him not really. otherwise he would have threatened his mom weeks ago. nandor actually forgiving guillermo and its just like that. because he loves him too much. nandor doing the gayest most romantically and sexually charged shit in the world to prove to guillermo he actually has forgiven him. nandor bringing guillermo home. and saying he will be living with us AS AN EQUAL
nandor bringing him blood. and while we are on this topic, NANDOR WHO HAS THE IQ OF A RUSSIAN TOILET KNEW RIGHT AWAY WHAT GUILLERMOS PROBLEM WITH HIS TURNING WAS AND HOW TO FIX IT. AND HE DID. IMMEDIATELY. WHILE LAZLO STRUGGLED FOR WEEKS. NANDOR KNEW INSTANTLY. this episode had such biiig caretaker nandor energy and i fucking gobble that shit up. he pays so much attention to guillermo and he is so warm and loving to him whenever hes not catching himself…… i think im gonna go cry
nandor looking at guillermo with barely repressed lust as guillermo shows off his new vampiric powers and is taken by a frenzy to just go and do some shit. nandor lurking in the shadows listening to guillermos confession about not being able to kill, and looking so broken up about it, and wanting to fix things immediately for guillermo (but he cant, and btw im glad they brought back the lamp even if it was just to say you dumbass, you are out of wishes, like maybe that was a disappointment to some people but im sort of glad they made nandor use up all his wishes because the whole ceremony bit was sooooooooooooo thoughtful and soooo warm on nandors part). he went and staged the whole place and orchestrated the whole thing just so guillermo could speak from the heart and say he made a mistake. that is insanely loving of him
and btw idk anything about the lore of vampiric lineage BUT! tbh i do think this is such a cool loophole. like when guillermo reverted, time for his human form had passed. which means if any vampire who has lived, idk, more than 130 years had the same thing happen to them, they would obviously turn to dust. of course they would die! but guillermo had this happen only a few months ago so hes good! and the vampirism is reverted! and he has the time and knowledge now to think long and hard if he still wants it
to be honest (not to be a blorke about nandermo) i do believe that nandor and guillermo will get into it next season and the subsequent conflict will be that guillermo cannot be a vampire so he will age and die one day, but i think since nandor is so caring and “acts of service” in this last episode, maybe the solution they find is they decide nandor will turn guillermo eventually, and then bring him blood without guillermo having to hunt and kill (he could also like rob blood banks or drink from people without draining them)
anyway how cool is it that guillermo turned out to be so similar to louis (interview with the vampire, the very movie that got him to want to be a vampire), with the same conflict, except he did get a do over thanks to nandor ❤️
one last thing before i go that i didnt mention NANDOR TYING GUILLERMOS CAPE SO LOVINGLY AND WITH SUCH ATTENTION WITH SUCH REVERENCE GOD I KNOW WE’RE IN FOR A TREAT NEXT SEASON. AND NANDOR FUCKING STAKING DEREK. DO YOU WANT ME TO DO IT. I DONT KNOW. I DO *STAKE *. LIKE WHAT. THAT WAS SO INSANELY HOT TO ME GOODBYE FOREVER AND SORRY FOR THE LONGASS POST

Nandor makes a wish that could potentially change Marwa's love of science and the djinn finds himself messing with the wish to ensure Marwa doesn't lose that, not because he's a djinn and that is just a part of his job, but because he's been spending a lot of time with her while the others are out and she knows so much about science and world history just from reading all of Lazlo's books and going down Wikipedia rabbit holes on Collin's laptop that she just ends up telling the djinn all about it, infodumping on him since Nandor isn't there to pay attention to her and the djinn finds that he actually really likes listening to her, he's been stuck in that lamp twice as long as she's been dead and she's catching him up on all the stuff he missed (plus she's not too bad to look at) and the more wishes Nandor makes to change anything about Marwa the more the djinn ends up working harder and harder than he ever has before to make sure a wish doesn't work the way the wisher wants just for Marwa, it quickly stops being about having to because of the Monkey's paw and becomes about protecting her and when he realizes that the reason he's doing it is because he's fallen in love with her? He has a breakdown

To CoS DMs,
What sort of stuff do you make a point of including when changing Strahd's diary?
I've never been fond of 5e's handout, it feels far more like a lore drop than a personal diary, and while using I, Strahd would be nice, I've made too many changes to the lore to use it as is. (not to mention that my players and I are all busy, and won't have the time to read a full novel)
I've outlined the key elements that need to be included, I just need to pad it out a bit.
Thank you for any help (:
My current outline is under the cut (:
cw for canon typical depression and violence
Taking Castle Ravenloft:
Summary of the arrival at the castle, naming it after his mother, in her honor
With the death of their parents, Sergei will be coming to the keep
Introduction to Alek and Rahadin, the two working and training together
Meeting Tatyana:
Introducing our sexy lamp
Passing mention of Sergei giving up his place in the clergy for her
Focus on Tatyana's physical traits, her hair in particular. As much as the lamp thing is a joke, she isn't important to Strahd as a person, only a prize. As Strahd is really the only source of information on Tatyana for the party, she doesn't really get much in terms of development.
Alek has raised concerns once again about the assassin
Tatyana & Sergei, Wedding Prep:
Strahd moping while Sergei and Tatyana have a good time.
Mention of Alek going to the Amber Temple for research purposes, to find something that might help the situation.
Night Before the Wedding:
Strahd is starting to hear whispers
Alek and Rahadin have been patroling the castle, questioning the guards, etc.
Wedding Night Aftermath:
Quiet castle, only him and Rahadin alive.
Some sacrifices had to be made, but Alek is still alive, gifted to Rahadin, so that the two can remain brothers.
Alek died as he does in I, Strahd, but is the first Strahd brings back from the dead. He botches it though, and Alek returns as a Nosferatu, rather than a spawn. Strahd is denying the problem, shrugging off the issue as best as he can. He's good at it.
Meeting Marina:
The only section I've fully written out so far, but still up for revisions.
I returned to Castle Ravenloft late yesterday evening with no issue. Rahadin was right, the girl looks exactly like my dearest Tatyana did, with the same red hair and bright eyes. I do not think I know the entirety of what happened to her in the years since her death in the Mists, but she did not remember who she, or perhaps more importantly, Sergei or I, was.
Now, she goes by Marina, and is the adopted daughter of the burgomaster in Berez, Lazlo Berezovich, who plans to marry her in just a few years. Of course, i cannot have such things happen to Tatyana, no matter what name or face she wears now, and I have already begun to teach her of her old life. She seemed invested, though that might simply be due to the prospect of minor nobility taking romantic interest in her. Still, even with having only spent a night with her, the results seem promising. My brother will not have any influence this time, and at long last, Tatyana will finally be mine.
Rahadin also brought news of the Abbot, the “angel” having taken up residence in the old monastery in Krezk, where I had found Leo Dilisnya. While Tatyana is of the highest priority, I will have to visit Krezk soon, to finally welcome our newest guest. Even if his healing magic has been greatly exaggerated, his presence should provide at least some degree of entertainment for myself, and perhaps some assistance for Barovia’s people.
Death of Marina:
Most recent event in journal, so that it works out when Strahd leaves the diary buried under the monument to Marina. A good segment of unmarked pages are left at the end of the journal.
Cursing the men who killed Marina, description of their bodies after their deaths.

Joel showed Lazlo a radio and he went ahead and purchased it a few minutes later.
Unfortunately it was the only sale of the day. No one else was interested in any of the TVs, radios, lamps, or even the fancy game console.
So Joel ended up going home with far less simoleons than he came to the store with.

WWDITS RANT <3
Ok i just finished watching the WWDITS season finale and It made me laugh so much but also some of it was shitty and i feel like sharing to the class.
So most insane things first I have no idea why Guillermo decided not to be a vampire. It is even explicitly shown how great he feels after drinking human blood like he is ready??? and then suddenly its like a switch flipped and he has a problem killing a human. He has never really gave a shit about that for FIVE FUCKING SEASONS. He is even like yeah i know i dismembered a shitton of body and lured people to their deaths and killed a shitton of vampires (who tbh he can definitely empathize with like humans as he has been involved with them for years) (OVER 10 YEARS) but i cant suck this guys throat owo. Like he has devoted his entire life to this for a decade and all of a sudden he backs out? I'm not saying this isn't just weird bad writing but the lamp nandor pulled out was the big one which he knows has no wishes left. I think its possible either nandor wished that Guillermo wanted to be human OR Guillermo purposely got himself turned back into a human so Nandor could be the one to turn him. Like he had everything set up with the necromancer to undead Derick pretty quickly...... idk im just saying. Also It feels like nothing has changed. I wish Nandor would have helped him with dericks body or something. Just to show that Guillermo is accepted a little more. I know you guys will debate me on this but its the little things like that that make you really feel part of the group. Lazlo came in clutch as always though I love him so much he really is one of my comfort characters of all time. (I even think that if my theory ends up being the case that Lazlo knew about Guillermo's plan cause that would definitely go along with the theme of Lazlo and Guillermo hiding stuff from the others throughout the season) But yea. Weird ending with Guillermo and im gonna be PISSED if there isnt a seriously good explanation for that.
Next: the Guide... Yea WHAT THE FUCK they did her so dirty like no hahah we liked you the whole time haha. Are you for serious. are you joking with me. This could have been a HUGE chance for character growth on the vamps part. They could have realized that yea. healthy relationships need to have mutual respect and both people need to contribute. They could have brought Lazlo's journey with him becoming a bit more human this season full circle. Nandor could have realized that how he has treated Guillermo is not great. He could have been like yea no wonder he got turned by someone other than me. I have been using him to do dirty work for years and stringing him along with the promise that I would eventually turn him which even I convinced myself was true in order to keep things just as how theve always been. I wont kill him because he means more to me than a stupid vampire rule that im only doing because its what is always done. (Like Nandor realized he didn't want to kill Guillermo after a second of seriously thinking about it.) Guillermo could have let him out of that cage and they could have hugged and figured out what to do like the fucking found family they are damn it.
NADJA ......... nadja's whole thing this season was the fact that she treats people like shit and is pretty selfish and she didnt even have a moment where she actually showed change. IM SICK IM DYING IM THROWING UP IN THE STREET.
I realize that them liking the guide the whole time is a funny joke but guys. was it worth it. was it fucking worth it...
For the things I liked lol I really liked Lazlo he is allways slaying his fits were spectacular his matching hair with Nadja is incredible He is a real friend to Guillermo and everything that comes out of his mouth is hilarious.
Im glad the guide got some kind of revenge she deserves it I love her.
Guillermo hiding out in the motel was funny and i love how everyone visited him individually.
Guillermo being really happy after turing into a bat and getting his fangs was also really cute
Also "this meat has kissed the grill" i started crying i have no idea why this was so funny to me
Nandor stalking the fucking panera bread and setting up a whole fake ritual for Guillermo 10/10
also final round of applause for Nadja and Lazlos hair and outfits this season. I wish i were them.
anyways funny vampire show heheeh i wont get too upset about it and i wont make a conspiracy about how they wrote it bad on purpose because I cant cope with reality *cough* good omens fans *cough* SORRY but guys... guys... its not 2017 wake up please we dont need another TJLC please I have to say somthing.
love you all touch grass <3
comment 💥if you read all of this shit i want to know

We haven’t seen the Djinn yet - I think Nandor still has his mini wish lamp. Lazlo should fake Guillermo’s death by some dumb human means, ridiculously theatrically, then get Nandor to wish he had turned Guillermo into a vampire before it happened

Lazlo really wants to be a werewolf, and the vanilla method is so difficult that it’s basically impossible, plus the family does have a genie lamp and isn’t using it for anything else. So I have him wish for werewolfication. Immediately his wife and sons roll wants to become werewolves too so he basically turns everyone in the family except Woody and Goldie.

Olive Specter has...connections. Why? Because she's Olive.
She got a genie lamp and wished for youth. Yes, that will complicate things with Pascal, which are already complicated because Pascal is also with Blair Reaper (was Nervous Subject), her son. There are no secrets, it's just weird. And I didn't do it on purpose. Pascal and Olive would *not* stop.
Right now Pascal was with Olive, but she's a teenager again now, and Pascal is with Blair.
Lazlo is with Blair and Erin (Beaker). No secrets. Just a weird household.
Anyway, she knows she didn't have much longer left and she just now is learning what love is, with someone other than the Grim Reaper. She finally got her son back after all these years. She's terrified of death, and strangely finds, she wants a second chance at life.
She doesn't care if it messes things up. She'd rather get a shot at having friends/family and doing it right, or semi-right at least.
So she's a teenager again. She says screw school. She'll do stuff on her terms, no need to do it again, and gives herself an A+ somehow, because Olive.
She's still Olive though...
How will her second chance go?

StrangeSpot, Round Twenty Two: Beaker
Hedge witch Maude McArthur has been doing the rounds with genie lamps, and this one’s for the Beaker household. It isn’t addressed to anyone in particular but Maude has been informed by her spirit guides that Circe Beaker, the leader of neutral magics in the Strangetown coven, is close to passing on. It’s rumoured that her niece Frida will succeed her with plant magic, but a successor who isn’t a witch is unheard of. Maude figures her assistance is required.
In more mundane matters, Avery rejects Ceres’ engagement proposal. It seems Avery has been in discussion with her parents, Penny and Lazlo, regarding the Beaker family and their history, and she doesn’t feel like she’d fit in with the Beaker dynasty anymore. Ceres keeps her composure til Avery leaves but spills her frustrations to Circe, who takes her heartbroken daughter to the lab for some science therapy. Just as Maude’s spirit guides predicted, Nervous’ father pays Circe a visit and helps her along the river Styx.
Lettice moves out of the Beaker household and makes her debut at La Fiesta Tech. She’s confident she’ll turn heads with her striking looks.

Okay I’ll just put the update in a thread because I got a lot of pictures yesterday
So the prince dude I picked from random online is pining over isla because he was an ass and not sunny. And ends up summoning a genie who said he can help him
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But the genie was a lying ass so he ends up ditching the lamp on miaara
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
From miaara and her friends. Miaara’s entire party was kidnapped by the dark lord and she was on the quest to save them before the genie incident. And she was forced to switch classes so she’s a thief because former thief before the oblivion crisis happens
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So now the guardian dude gave her three new members who most came from other towns because I’m running out of ocs
So Lazlo who was my sim’s kid. He was named after his dad’s bff. Also he was an alien in sims 2 so he’s a scientist now

I hope Nandor doesn’t waste anymore wishes so The Djinn can stay longer. He’s awesome!
I hope he does and then the other characters take the lamp and get wishes, can you imagine Lazlo’s wishes they would be priceless. It would also be such an entertaining way to keep him in the show (which is what I also want because he is so awesome)
