Oh wow!! I just want to say thank you for your great work on this blog! I read for the first time last year all the books of the saga and then I found your blog and I fell in love with it! (I spent an entire month seeing all your posts) For me all you answers are canon in the story and nobody can change my mind 🤣

Now my question is for Lazuli ( I only read the first book of the twins, because the others never arrived in my country 😭 so if the answer is spoiler for me, don't worry, it's ok) how do you feel about the twins? Do you have a favourite one? Do you feel something for one of them, or both?

Ps: I love Artemis and Holly 💜 and I know that they're just friends, but let us dream about something more 💜

Lazuli: The twins are my favorite humans. I guess I get on better with Beckett than Myles, but Myles is more dependable in a pinch. Both of them are like the little brothers I never had, and I'm indebted to them for so much.

Though the trouble they get me into, I'll soon have repaid that debt.

Lazuli: I was put in a pocket sub-dimension for a bit because I was lowest on the popularity poll. No one could remember me while I was there, but I'm out now and I'm... fine? I don't remember what happened in there.

I haven't read The Fowl Twins, so I have no real opinion about Lazuli Heitz, but do you know who I think should have been slotted into the Token Fairy/Female Protagonist spot? Lili Frond. The poor girl never even appears, but we constantly hear Holly bitch about her, because Holly is Not Like Other Girls and Lili apparently is. It'd be nice to actually see her. It could turn out that yeah, she really is ditzy and full of herself, but that doesn't mean that she can't be competent or nice. It could be an interesting contrast, seeing her in Holly's old role. Maybe her descent from elfin royalty turns out to be plot-relevant. She's dating Trouble Kelp, which has to have some storytelling potential. There's tons that you could do with her.

HOLY SHIT so my pre-order copy arrived today and i read it! so here are some random thoughts, in no particular order - MAJOR spoilers ahead, so read at your own risk

so like let’s start with

MINERVA

Eoin fORGOT HOW TO SPELL HER LAST NAME

it was “Paradizo” but for some reason in the new book it’s “Paradiso”

she’s also a redhead now? i swear she was a blonde? idk i guess she must have dyed her hair

also she has GNOMMISH TATTOOS which i love sm

she runs a smuggling ring with a bunch of fairies

she hates the LEP lol

she and Artemis were “an item” briefly

then she dated A FAIRY and had a DAUGHTER

(this fairy is referred to only as her “partner” so like. wlw!minerva)

(also apparently Root married a human? the quote is “the legendary villain Turnball Root’s own brother’s partner had been a human” so uhh okay then)

oh and Minerva is pissed about how she comes across “like a supporting character to the great Artemis Fowl” in TLC which i love

she hates the LEP so much i love her

so their ghosts help the twins + Lazuli to fight him

also Angeline has a contact in the Kremlin

which i love

(it raises so many questions about Angeline's backstory tho-)

but yeah!

those are my thoughts!

(i might do another post with my fav quotes later)

overall i think it's a really good book

it adds to the world building in Eoin's usual chaotic way

like ghosts? so much potential for more ghost villains at some point

I knew I wouldn’t be that excited for this book but I can’t believe how ironic and sad it is to see Minerva in this new book and both the Jaded woman trope and the “motherhood is the only remaining personality trait” trope 🙃😔

Also the whole Myles “Magic” Transformation thing has me really thrown rn. Why would you do this. I feel like… it does not add to the story

I just started rereading Artemis Fowl, and now I’m very confused about Lazuli’s genetics.

Spoilers for the end of The Fowl Twins book 3

So, Lazuli is supposed to be a hybrid of elf and pixie with a little bit of goblin, and at the end of the last book it was revealed that her mom was the fairy that Artemis gets the fairy bible from. Initially I thought this was really cool, but while rereading the first book I realized that her mom is a sprite? Does that mean that her dad is also a pixel with a bit of goblin, and Lazuli’s phenotype just doesn’t show any sprite traits?

I considered that maybe Artemis mistook the fairy for a sprite when she actually wasn’t, but that seems unlikely since she had green skin, which as far as I know is only a trait that sprites have.
