[AB6IX] INTERRUPTING THEM WITH A KISS
☆ gn!reader ☆ fluff and fun ☆ Note: me, seeing the ab6ix fics tag empty: i have to Create!!!!
Tumblr media
WOONG:
It’s sooooo easy to distract him, especially when he’s rambling and he himself has lost sight of what he’s talking about.
When you suddenly kiss him, his brain immediately short-circuits for a second then goes into making out with you mode, everything else is going to be forgotten.
If he wasn't saying anything important, this is a very good way to stop him from going on pointless tangents or distract him from sinking into negative spirals.
If it was something important, he’ll suddenly remember it later and you can talk about it then.
DONGHYUN:
He can get a bit self-conscious if you just kiss him out of the blue while he’s talking.
Was he being annoying? Was what he said boring?
When you pull away, he laughs awkwardly and scratches the back of his head, and just his whole body language screams “embarrassed”.
You have to reassure him that you don’t mind him rambling, you just thought ending it with a kiss would be fun.
In the end, the fun teasing kiss to shut him up turns into something comforting and full of love.
WOOJIN:
He will be very flustered because he gets flustered when you show him such affection and because you caught him off-guard.
He has absolutely no idea how to proceed from here, so his best guess is to act like nothing happened and try to continue talking…
Halfway through his second round of rambling, he looks at you grinning at him and sighs.
He registered that yup, he's talking too much again, so he just laughs awkwardly and gives up, letting you kiss him again.
DAEHWI:
He will actually get very offended.
He gives you a whole lecture about how rude it is to interrupt someone while they’re talking and you can’t argue that he was just rambling and you just really wanted to kiss him.
He blushes for a moment but quickly collects himself and he will finish what he has to say even if he has to put his hand over your mouth and hold you back like that.
After he’s done, he will either give you reward kisses for being good and listening, or he’ll demand kisses as compensation for being rude.

Your heart dropped when you heard those words. “Why is she there?” You barked, “I don’t know I think she’s sick, she’s been visiting quite a few times recently,” Daehwi replied. “We need to find out why?” you said sounding concerned, your hand reaching for your necklace.
She had been poorly before she left you, had you holding her hostage made her that unwell. Maybe she was unwell because she missed you, a slight smile spreading across your face. You knew the feeling, your life hadn’t been the same since.
“Have her watched more,” you ordered your younger brother. You mentally heard his eyes roll and you smiled knowing that he had acquired a soft spot for her that he wouldn’t hesitate to keep a more closer eye on her. “Just make sure she doesn’t see you,” you said biting your lips. “Daehwi you haven’t told Woong have you?” you asked. “No he’s too busy filling into your shoes these days to care about anyone let alone Y/N,” he said sounding a little disappointed.
All you thought of was of Y/N, worrying for her health. Holding every memory of her the way she smelt, the Way she smiled, her smart mouth, her grip around your throat which always made you smile. The way the pain burned when she grinded alongside your days old shot wound. The wound that your own brother caused because he knew you and Y/N had fallen for each other, a permanent mark and all you had left from her.
Your thoughts was disrupted when the phone went, it was your father. He had asked for you to visit Woong, their was trouble brewing from the mess Woong and Youngmin caused with Jonghee. Apparently he was alive hanging on in intensive care like most of his fallen men. But rumours of your family link to them was floating. Your father’s concern for your brothers and their ability to deal with it had you ordered to return.
You had mixed feelings being back in the same country then Y/N. The desire to watch over her threatening to make your usual stern reasoning feel a little too fluffy for your liking.
You was sat in a local bar with Woong when your phone rang. You excused them to the quiet garden answering the phone to a worried Daehwi. “She’s back at the hospital again,” he panted. Your heart fell, she must be really poorly to be back there. “Follow her, find out what department she’s in,” you ordered. “That’s the thing Hyung, I already have and yeah well she ……….” Daehwi said before disappearing. You looked at your phone it’s lifeless black screen in your focus. “Fuck,” you cursed, the phone had died, you had come straight from the airport. You tossed your dead phone back into your pockets, your mind running through all sort of scenarios that could have her unwell.
“Are you even listening to me?” Woong growled as you was hugging your whisky. “Yes I am,” you replied, Woong’s eyes glaring over you with frustration. “Your such a liar, who was on that call that got you so lost?” he asked, looking a little concerned. “What call?” you scoffed, downing the whisky burning your throat. “The one that had you rush out to the garden to take,” Woong said raising his eyebrow at you. “That was Daehwi it was nothing, his usual droning on,” you said trying to sound uninteresting.
Woong’s phone then went off and he excused himself to leave. It wasn’t long before Donghyun arrived as he slouched next you on the stools around your table when Woong returned looking a little frazzled.
“We need to take this somewhere a little private,” he said his face looking concerned. “Their about to wake him,” he said glaring at you, your heart sunk knowing what he meant. Once he was awake he would know what your family had done.
You left the bar, but before you could get into the car your eyes widened, standing across the road behind Woong was her. Your Y/N, she looked radiant, she didn’t look unwell. “I’ll meet you back at the house,” you said to Woong before watching his quizzing Scoff and enter the car. You hastily dashed across the road following the path that you last saw Y/N. You barely saw her in the distance entering a shop with her mother.
You stumbled into the shop, your eyes searching for her, the desire to see her up close overpowering yourself. It was then you felt some hands clasp over your shoulder and you spun to see Donghyun looking at you, his eyebrows raised. “What are you doing in a baby shop?” he quizzed. But before you could even reply noticing the baby items surrounding you, his face paled as his eyes froze behind you.
“Is that Y/N?” he whispered as you spun around. Donghyun was right she was in a baby shop looking up baby clothes. Frilly pretty little dresses in her view as she was feeling the material. “Brother why is she here?” Donghyun whispered. “Maybe she’s buying a outfit for a pregnant friend,” you replied.
You then remembered your calls with Daehwi, he was about to tell you why she was at hospital. Your heart thumped, you needed to get closer, hear what she was saying. “Really?” You heard her question her mother who was gleaming with pride as she took the dresses in. “Well my granddaughter deserves the best,” she said looking at you with pride as her eyes took to your stomach. Y/N moved to her side and their was no mistake a small but defiant bump on display.
Your legs almost gave way, she was pregnant. Was that your baby? Was you about to be a dad? You stumbled reaching the clothes rack in-front. She turned your direction, you moved with her throwing yourself to the floor, your weakened legs happy to oblige as you crawled around trying not to be seen. It was then you found Donghyun. “Brother what the hell you doing,” he chuckled. You yanked his arm down. “Get down before she sees us,” you growled. “It’s just Y/N,” he chuckled trying to stand up. “She can’t see us, ever,” you scowled at him. His face looking saddened as he remembered the pact you had shared.
“What is she doing here anyway did you find out?” he said peeking through the racks. “Wait that’s a bump,” he whispered. “She’s pregnant, is that Woongs baby do you think?” He said. Your heart sunk remembering their time spent together. You knew they had slept together several times compared to your one hot time with her in the car on the way home.
The chances was that was Woong’s baby she was carrying, but the slight chance that baby was yours crept into your thoughts.
“Just because your in a baby shop doesn’t mean you have to crawl around like baby’s,” a voice chuckled above you. Daehwi was standing their arms folded but a grin at seeing his hyungs hiding. “It’s ok she left just now,” he chuckled as you stood up, you yanking his collar.
“She’s fucking pregnant and you didn’t say,” you said shaking him as he brushed your hands off him. “Hyung I did say, it’s not my fault your phone died on me,” he said scowling. “I even know there’s no father noted down too and how far gone she is,” he said smirking. “Please tell me it’s Woongs baby,” Donghyun said excitedly like a school child that earnt you scowling at him.
“Yes she’s 18 weeks pregnant, that’s our flesh and blood she’s carrying,” Daehwi said with an almost doe eyed expression. “That’s great news, because bringing a child to our world is what we want,” you scoffed, your brothers both looking at the floor saddened. “We made a deal, what ever happens we stay away, and we can’t tell Woong. We both know he would be the first to break that promise,” you said looking serious at them. “But Hyung she’s pregnant that changes things,” Daehwi said looking softened. “And that expression right their puts her and that baby in danger,” you scowled at him. “Once people realise that baby belongs to us that baby will have a price on their head,” you added. “Her head,” Daehwi replied with a sickly sweet smile, “it’s a girl,” he added his grin widening.
You felt the dizziness return when you realised it was dresses they was looking at and her mother described the baby as her granddaughter. Y/N was carrying your daughter, or possibly your daughter. You put your hand to your head to help you recompose your expression. Daehwi and Donghyun looking at you like you was a parent deciding if they could have a puppy. “That makes it worse, can you imagine what they can do to a girl especially when she gets older, or have you all forgot how we met Y/N,” you said, their face falling as they took your words. “Look I’ll ring Taehoon, I’ll get a team put on to watch and keep her safe. But we have to stay away, and not a single word to anyone. No one can know she’s carrying one of our family members babies,” you said.
You stayed longer then you should, the situation with Jonghee calming down as the attempt to wake him up not being fruitful. You was packing your belongings to go home, when Woong busted through the door. “He’s awake Woojin,” he said panting looking shaken. “If they go searching for Y/N and find her,” he gulped pausing, “I won’t ever forgive myself,” your heart thudding in its wake. You couldn’t have Y/N anywhere near you and Woong. You promised to never come back, you knew her heart couldn’t say goodbye twice. You knew she had a boyfriend, your heart splintering at the thoughts of those two together when Taehoon told you. Your heart feeling heavy at imagining those two together, that she had moved on so quickly. But at the same time you felt gratitude, he was going to keep that baby safe, play the dad you knew you could never be. A chance to be normal, have a safe life.
But things had changed. Because of Woong, because of you she was in danger, so was the baby. You reached into the draws holding the keys to your secret lodge in Baeksasil Valley. “Get Donghyun and Daehwi to take her here,” you ordered him. “While me and you find a way to bring calm down here,” you added, his face fell at your suggestion but he took the keys and left.
It wasn’t long before your meeting with Woong and your men was cut short by Daehwi and Donghyun’s return. You was taken back as they should be on their way to Baeksasil Valley and not here. You scowled as their sorrowful face met yours and Woongs. You both threw worried glances at each other across the table. You excused yourself encouraging Woong to continue with the meeting. He looked hazily at your frustration at being kept out the loop.
You three made your way to the corridor your finger on your lips before you found yourself in the business sitting room. “Please tell me you didn’t bring her here,” you spluttered. “She’s not here,” Donghyun said, his eyes refusing to meet yours. “She refused to come,” Donghyun added into the silence. “What? you telling me you left her there?” You growled. “Brother she doesn’t want anything to do with us, she told us to leave her alone, and to stop following her,” Donghyun said his eyes watering. “Could none of you drag her ass here,” you shouted, the panic rising in your throat. “She’s pregnant what did you want us to do? drag her kicking and screaming stressing her out while pregnant?” Donghyun choked.
“Well now we know it’s not Woong’s baby and that boyfriend of hers we should have done just that,” Daehwi said rolling his eyes. You gasped in his direction, “That’s right she told us to leave her, that pretty boy and there baby alone,” he said coldly. “I told you she was bad news but you and Woong wouldn’t have it,” he added. “Daehwi, and you said your the clever one, do you ever listen to Taehoon. He’s basically acting the dad, he isn’t one,” you bit out. “No brother your wrong she swore that baby was his, apparently they slept together as soon as you dropped her home. That’s how much she’s pining after us,” Donghyun said scrunching his face.
No this had to be Y/N being stubborn, she wouldn’t have told you she loved you and fallen for someone else. That baby had to be yours or if not yours Woongs, but not another.
“Wait if your here who’s watching her?” You quizzed. “She told us to go so we left, I’m not babysitting a whore,” Daehwi spluttered. “Daehwi she still pregnant and she’s still in danger because of us, because of Woong and also You,” you shouted. “What more can I fucking do,” Daehwi screamed, you felt your blood pressure rise. What had she said to turn him anti on her again. “Daehwi I’m not asking I’m telling you, get back there and watch over her, nothing’s changed,” you growled your face inches from his.
“What’s going on brother?” Woong asked entering the room not long after Donghyun and Daehwi left. “Y/N being a typical Y/N that’s all,” you said pouring a whiskey. “She refused to come didn’t she?” he asked. You knocked the whiskey back. “Can you blame her,” he added as you poured another shot. “All we’ve done is try to kill her and pimp her out,” he said as you knocked back another shot letting your throat burn. “What are we going to do?” he asked. “You and me are going to solve a way, leave Donghyun and Daehwi to keep Y/N safe,” you said pouring another shot letting the lightheaded feelings spread through you. Your brain was Beginning to hurt and you hated over thinking.
Two days had passed and you received that call the one you feared. “I don’t know how to tell you this, but they have her,” Taehoon’s voice chilled down the phone. Your heart sunk, before you could respond a curdling scream left your mouth, everything near you was thrown or smashed. Your brothers rushing to the room. Woong’s arms trying to cradle you. “They have her, They have her,” you cried as your legs went. Woong’s face paled as he fell into you, silence leaving his lips. Donghyun and Daehwi’s faces twisted to glance at each other.
Because of you, Y/N and the baby was in more danger then ever!

992/2800 word february
[bright wonder] “How do you… do that?” you ask Daehwi, your eyes wide as they take in the shimmering lights that spark from his fingertips.
He gets lost in the way the lights reflect in your eyes for a few seconds, but you don’t notice, just like you’ve never noticed the way he looks at you.
He clears his throat. “Dunno.” Closing his fingers over his palm, Daehwi stops the sparkles from erupting, instead compacting what’s left of the light in his hand. When he unfurls his fingers, a serene, glowing ball lies in his palm. “Kind of lame though, right? Magical powers and all I can do is make stuff sparkle.”
“Are you kidding?” You poke one finger into the ball, a childish grin of pure glee on your lips when it glows brighter in response to your touch. “It’s the most amazing thing I’ve ever seen.”

park woo jin ft lee dae hwi pt. 1 (random imagines)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
member: park woo jin ft. lee dae hwi
genre: fluff, au
warnings: wrong grammar, cringiness (read at ur own risk)
summary: daydreaming about changing lives by imagining having swapping bodies with a celebrity
• y/n is so done with her life.
• online classes just make her behavior worst and tired than having face to face.
• tends to isolate herself from her main accounts not minding chats and notifications.
• it's not that you don't care or mind about other people, you just don't feel communicating lmao
• prefer spending time by spazzing, watching k-dramas, or playing.
• on a night with a full moon, hearing those unstoppable sounds of dogs in your neighborhood.
• y/n suddenly thinks of having a different kind of life she has.
• kinda corny but wishes to experience those (be careful what you wish for)
• being weird and an overthinker she just let it pass, finally decides to sleep.
• next morning came, y/n wakes up with a bright vivid light that comes from the window.
• slowly progressing what happened on the verge of 'your mind is still asleep'
• a loud 'bugsh' was heard when you fall from your bed
• white long curtains, teddy bears and other cute stuff, a mini piano with lots of music sheets scattered on it,
• colorful post-it that you also read, "you can do it" "well done." "fans are waiting for you" "love myself too" "music is hard but it's all worth it".
• and a sweet smell of vaporized candles lingers around the room.
• y/n is amused yet nervous especially when he heard the door opens.
• "daehwi-yah we will eat now, what are you doing there on the floor? still asleep?"
• woong said, questioning y/n then laugh before closing the door.
• ofc you know him. it's woong the main vocalist and fake maknae of the k-pop group that you've been stanning since their debut ab6ix.
• confused still half-awake y/n decided to check her face by looking at the mirror (more like a routine or habit daehwi does lol every morning)
• "oh my god" y/n said in Korean that made her more shocked.
• purple pajamas with messy hair but still looking handsome on it is the image that you saw in front of the mirror.
• "how did this happen?" eyes are both wide open checking if this is freaking real.
• still not syncing into reality you decided to pounder thoughts
• when you heard the other members yell daehwi's name
• so your feet take you to the familiar and at the same time unfamiliar kitchen of ab6ix.
• "why are you so weird today, daehwi-yah?" woojin asked sending his signature sparrow gaze into you.
• you suddenly feel the urge to curse bcs first you are star-struck, second, it's bared face ab6ix your idols, third park woo jin is freaking asking you why daehwi is weird, lastly, daehwi is your bias and you are in his body?
• can't process the whole information, so you just shrugged at woojin's question then sit on the empty chair beside donghyun.
• everyone is busy chit-chatting while you just eat your food silently.
• the next hours went by smoothly except those kakao messages that came from other celebrities that you know too (daehwi being a social butterfly)
• and when your manager calls you for dance and vocal practice today along with the other members
• ofc you are nervous you don't sing and dance, and daehwi's prob professional especially when writing songs how are you supposed to do that?
• with cold hands you and the other members enter the practice room.
• woojin leads it and play a warm-up song first.
• y/n is very nervous but amused at how daehwi's body moves along the beat.
• you enjoyed vocal lessons too as you kept making vibrations on the songs.
• little you did know that woojin is observing you since this morning (y'all know that park woojin is the member whose daehwi are most close with so)
• you let out a big sigh when the classes are finally over but immediately taken aback when manly arms wrapped around your shoulders.
• "we should talk," woojin murmured then drag you until you two reach his room.
• woojin's room is a combination of black and white a typical minimalist person would love this adding his collection of action figurines.
• he's so manly, you thought to yourself.
• "daehwi-yah, spill it," he said breaking the silence between the two of you.
• "i-uh is there something that i s-should spill?" you want to slap yourself for stammering in front of him.
• while he gave you his 'oh pls btch stop acting like you don't know anything at all'
• when he realized that you don't have any plans to answer his question
• "YAHHHH PARK WOO JIN"
• "see? daehwi is not like that," he said while crossing his arms in front of you.
• did park woo jin literally brought his face closer to the point that you two could kiss and thinking of it happened a few moments ago made your face red like a tomato.
• "daehwi's not minding it but you— who are you?"
• y/n's heart suddenly beats faster than normal, she wants to defend herself but no words would escape from her lips.
• "sweetie, don't be afraid it's just me park woo jin" he said smiling showing his snaggletooth.
• intimidated. that's what you're feeling right now. seeing him this close makes your heartbeat wild adding that he's interrogating you.
• you didn't have a choice it's now or never so you told woojin everything.
• at first he didn't believe it but when he challenged you to make simple sentences for lyrics he started to believe you.
• months past like that, woojin is there guiding you every time he sees that you prob gonna ruin smth
• y/n and woojin always spend time a lot together after rehearsals, practices, classes, gym, or even if you don't have anything scheduled for the day.
• you know him for being clingy with daehwi as you always watch their behind clips but damn having skinship with woojin really hits different
• it made your heart flutter every time he does it (but u only keep it to yourself)
• he kisses you sometimes on your cheek when you two are alone
• that's how park woo jin and y/n became close.
• today y/n is super hype bcs she saw the first snow
• woojin messaged you on kakao stating that he has a surprise so you two agreed to meet
• knowing him, maybe it's another prank or somehow something nice happen for him to celebrate it
• so you decided to wear daehwi's purple balenciaga sweater partnered with burberry coat and ofc his favorite dior bag that you can't forget to bring with
• you really like to dress up that's why you don't find it hard to style daehwi bcs daehwi already have a lot of designer clothes that made it easier for you
• before heading out, you sprayed daehwi's saint laurent perfume enjoying your personal favorite scent among his collection
• "y/n, you're late" woojin called as he waves at you.
• "i am not, you're just early" you rolled your eyes at him realizing that he wears his balenciaga pack again.
• others would find it weird but you call it 'pack' bcs his overall fashion is all balenciaga and it makes you roll your eyes more at him bcs you already know that he's freaking rich
• does he want to slap on my face that he could buy this entire house just for me to say that he's freaking rich? you thought.
• woojin pulled your wrist making you sit beside him
• it's not that you feel awkward with him, what's with the pulling and the intense gaze that he gives you right now
• y/n can't look straight at woojin bcs of her wildly beating heart.
• woojin held your chin so that you could have an eye to eye contact and when you two have—
• "woojin i—"
• "y/n i—"
• you both said at the same time.
• when you broke eye contact and decided to stand up woojin stop you but this time he held your hand.
• he stands up filling the gap between the two of you
• y/n stand there froze don't know what to do
• again woojin approach you, slowly, pulling you closer to him (tho there's not that much diff abt hwi and woojin's height)
• "i like you, y/n" he said while seriously looking into your eyes
• and like instructions that you follow to do, next thing you knew you found yourself closing your eyes waiting for his lips to touch with yours
• but you suddenly feel dizzy,
• then started to feel hot, mixed emotions.
• "y/n?" "y/n?"
• you open your eyes finding yourself in front of your monitor having online classes
• "y/n, show us your talent now"
• you don't know what to feel, felt crying bcs finally you are now back with your original body, happy bcs woojin confessed to you a while ago, sad bcs you can't see and bond with them now, and there's a big question mark on why and how you returned in the time of your online classes.

Finally - Daewhi
- Requested -
Tumblr media
Of course it had to be him.
Of all the people, of course it was him.
When your group mates invited you out for lunch with the new producer to help them come up with ideas, you didn’t know what you were expecting, but when he stood to greet you as you walked in, you might’ve been a little too obvious in your disappointment.
It wasn’t that you had bad blood.
But it wasn’t good blood either.
Had it not been for the incident that happened a year ago, you’re sure things would definitely be different.
-
“I told you, y/n, I can’t. We can’t.” Daehwi sighed, running a hand through his hair.
“Why not?” You spoke up, your voice cracking. “You were willing to get in a scandal for her, but it’s different with me, huh?” You paused, getting up from your seat in his studio. “Was everything you told me a lie? Were your just playing with me this whole time?”
“If I was playing with you, would I have written multiple songs for you? Would I have even confessed in the first place?” He argued.
“What’s the point in confessing if you don’t plan on acting on it.” You spoke bitterly, not giving him a chance to respond before you stormed out, stopping outside the door to wipe your tears so the rest of the boys wouldn’t ask you anything.
-
That was the last time you spoke to him. He never even tried reaching out to you and it made everything even more clear.
He didn’t care.
And if he didn’t care, you wouldn’t either.
Keeping that mindset, you followed the girls to the table and kept your face free of emotion, trying not to spoil the mood.
“How was the traffic?” He asked you, but you were too “busy” talking with Yuri to hear him.
“It was fine.” Sohee spoke up when she noticed no one answered his question. “Would’ve been better without the rain.” She chuckled. “We didn’t have any umbrellas in the van.”
“I can give you guys a ride back? I have some spares at the dorm that I can pick up on the way.” He offered. “You can even keep them.”
“That would be nice.” Sohee smiled.
After the food came, you tried your hardest to ignore him until it was eventually your turn to ‘introduce’ yourself to help him give him ideas for your part of the song.
“I’m y/n. Main rapper. Just turned nineteen,”
“That’s a little vague don’t you think?” He asked, his tone soft.
“I’m sure you already know enough about me.” You challenged, watching as his eyes grew wide at your boldness. “Through our manager and all.”
“Right.” He cleared his throat. “But it’s better to hear it from you.”
“Tell me what you don’t know and we can go from there.”
If the table wasn’t full of tension before, it definitely was now.
To your group mates, they thought you were just grumpy because they dragged you out, but to Daehwi it was a battle of who would cave first.
“Maybe instead of me dropping you off at your dorms, we can come back to my studio?” He offered. “If you guys don’t mind of course, it’s just that I already have an idea for the song.”
“That’s fine with me.” Yuri smiled, looking to the you, Sohee, and Hani to see if you also agreed.
“Why not.” Sohee shrugged. “The faster we get this song done, the less grumpy y/n’ll be.” She giggled as you glared at her.
“You just miss your bed.” She stated. “The faster we do this, the faster we get home.” She pointed out.
“Fine.”
-
By some holy grace of the universe, Hani had called shotgun before you could argue about seating arrangements, and you gladly took the backseat, pulling out your phone to message your friend that you couldn’t meet up tonight. smiling at her response.
“What’s a good place for a date?” You turned to Sohee. “I owe my friend two dates cause I keep having to bail and I wanna mash two into one, so it has to be really good.”
“Who are you seeing?” She wiggled her brows, the action causing the other girls to join in.
“You wouldn’t believe me if I told you.” You smirked, deciding to play along with them.
“Just say it!” Sohee jumped in.
“Byungchan.” You wiggled your eyebrows.
“Wait, are you serious?” Yuri piped up from behind Sohee. “Haven’t you liked him since like, forever?”
You wanted to laugh. They couldn’t possibly be believing you right now.
“Back to the date question. Where do I goooo.” You whined.
“Sorry to interrupt, but we’re here.” Daehwi spoke flatly, getting out of the car and leading the way.
You’d be lying if you said that being back in the building didn’t bring back memories, but you tried to shake it off for the sake of keeping the past in the past.
“Water? Coffee?” Daehwi suggested as you all reached the recording room.
“Water would be fine.” Sohee spoke up, the rest of you nodding in agreement.
“Y/n, can you come help me with the waters?” He asked, knowing you had no excuse not to.
“Sure.” You nodded slightly, following him out the door.
“You haven’t talk to me at all, what’s wrong.” He whispered while walking.
“’What’s wrong?’” You repeated with a glare. “Are you serious right now?”
“Just answer the question.” He spoke as you reached the cafeteria.
“Let’s see,” You started. “You ‘confessed’ to me just to say you didn’t want me around, then when I left, you never contacted me after, proving that everything you said was indeed, a lie.” You spoke while you held the water bottles.
“You never gave me a chance to explain.” He spoke softly.
“You had a year to explain, Daehwi.” You glared before turning to walk back, leaving him even more defeated.
-
Why he even made you guys come along to basically approve his lyrics was beyond you.
He didn’t need any of you there when he was just writing and you wondered why Sohee agreed to this in the first place, knowing this wasn’t needed.
Some leader she was.
“I finished everything except the rap parts, but other than that, everything seems good, you two can go wait in the practice room, take a nap or something.”
“So do you want them to stay to help you out?” Sohee offered.
“No, it’s getting late, are either of you good at writing lyrics?” He asked, already knowing the answer..
“Y/n’s better at it than me!” Hani piped up, mostly lead by the idea of taking a nap, and you groaned inwardly.
“Then if you’re okay with it, do you mind staying?” He looked at you.
“No problem.” You spoke through gritted teeth, watching as the rest of the girls said their goodbyes before heading out the room.
“Now will you let me explain.” He sighed once you were alone.
“What’s there to explain?” You argued. “Can we just write these lyrics so I can go?”
“I’m not writing anything until you hear me out.” He said. “I’m not letting you walk out on me again.”
You closed your eyes in frustration. “Go ahead then.”
“I wasn’t trying to get in a scandal, it just happened that way. I never even met her before in my life.” He rushed out. “I went to help one of her producers. I didn’t think it would end up like that.”
You raised a brow in response, not believing him.
“Why would I confess to you three days before, then?” He argued. “Why would I confess, just to go out with my ‘girlfriend’ a few days later?”
“That’s what I’ve been wanting to ask you.” You crossed your arms, already over the conversation.
“What will it take to prove it, then?” His voice dying down.
“Tell me why.” You started. “Tell me why I wasn’t good enough for you to date. Why I wasn’t good enough for you to run after.”
“I can’t.” His voice came out broken, like he was torn between two different responses.
“Then I guess I have my answer.” You got up, turning towards the door but he caught your wrist.
“The dating rule.” He whispered once you turned towards him. “You know what I’m talking about.”
“You couldn’t tell me to wait? You couldn’t explain yourself then?” You raised your voice. “I knew ever since Wanna One ended that you were gonna re-debut here, but you couldn’t tell me when? Did you not think I’d understand?”
“I knew you would, that’s why I didn’t say anything.” He raised his voice. “I didn’t want you to be stuck in whatever I would be stuck in. I knew you were getting ready to debut, so why would I jeopardize that?”
“Was there something else you were hiding from me?” You whispered, snatching your wrist from his grasp. “What would jeopardize my debut?”
He didn’t answer.
“What would jeopardize my debut, Daehwi.” You spoke louder.
“You didn’t see the rumors at the time, did you?”
You shook your head.
“The dating scandal came out the way it did because of all the rumors about me. No one had ever even seen me near a girl, and the first chance they got, they turned it into something.” His voice back to normal. “I didn’t want you to be dragged down the same way she was.”
“And you couldn’t tell me?” You glared. “You had to run away instead of talking to me?”
“I didn’t know how to tell you.”
“Talking isn’t that fucking ha-”
You were cut off by his hands cupping your face and pulling you into a soft kiss, your hands trying to push him off for interrupting you.
“I know you’re mad, but stop.” He whispered, his hands coming up to grab yours. “I fucked up, I know. But let me make it up to you.” He said, his lips landing on yours again.
There was no rush in the way he was kissing you, almost as if he’d break you if he pushed too hard.
“I still want an answer.” You pulled away with a pout. “Don’t try to distract me from being mad.”
“I’m not trying to distract you.” He smiled. “But I can’t stand us pretending we don’t know each other.”
“Well, we’re gonna have to.” You bit your lip. “They don’t know we know each other.”
“Oh yeah.” He cocked his head to the side. “They think you’re dating Byungchan.”
“Correction, seeing Byungchan. Not dating.” You started. “And it’s not my fault they were dumb enough to believe it.” You shrugged in your defense.
“Then we should clear it up.” He smirked.
“Nuh uh.” You smirked yourself. “You still have some making up to do.”
“Then make up, I shall.” Was all he said before backing up to the table, turning around to sit you on it.
His lips were back on yours as you slightly parted your legs to make room for him to move closer, your hands moving to wrap around his neck.
“I’m sorry.” He whispered, trailing kisses down your neck. “So sorry.” He whispered as he reached your shoulder.
“Stop apologizing.” You whined. “I’m trying to enjoy this and you’re making me want to hit you.”
“Sounds kinky.” He smirked.
“Lee Daehwi, I swear to go-”
You were cut off as he pressed his lips on yours once again, pushing you back onto the table so you were laying down while his fingers worked against the button of your shorts.
After undoing it, he pushed them down slowly, letting them fall down your legs before he trailed kisses up your thighs, your hands traveling to his hair as he got closer to you.
“Please, don’t tease.” You whimpered, tugging his hair slightly as you felt his kisses turn to go inside your thigh, rather than straight up.
“Only because you asked so nicely.” He mumbled, his hands coming up to grab your thighs and bring you closer to his face before kitten licking at your clit.
The gasp you let out gave him the sign to completely wrap his lips around it, trailing his hand from your thigh to rub at your entrance, collecting the wetness before pushing a finger in.
As much as you wanted to moan out, you had to remember that the door was only so far, and that people were definitely still going to walk by it.
“N-Not so fast.” You gasped as a blush crept up to your face. “I don’t want us to get caught.”
You didn’t get a response, only him adding a second finger while his tongue flattened against your clit, his eyes looking up at you before pulling away, your hand falling from his hair onto the table, grabbing at nothing as you tried to stay quiet.
“Then I guess you should stay quiet.” He whispered before pumping his fingers at a faster pace, smirking as your free hand came up to cover your mouth, any noise you made coming out muffled.
“I bet you’re a loud one, huh?” He licked his lips. “I can’t wait to have you all to myself when we’re alone.”
His words had you clenching around his fingers in excitement, and it didn’t go unnoticed before he pulled them away, getting up to rid himself of his own pants.
“Hurry~” You whined, moving you hand back over your mouth after realizing how loud you sounded.
“Who would’ve known you were so needy.” He smiled down at you, grabbing himself and pushing in slowly, watching how your hand gripped over your mouth tighter while your eyes screwed shut.
His hands spread your legs wider while he bottomed out and he placed a hand around your thigh before starting off slow.
“Fuck, you’re so tight.” He groaned, his head falling back as he took in the feeling of you.
It was when you tried to respond, and it came out small, that you forgot you were still covering mouth.
“Faster..please.” You spoke softly, your head rolling to the side as he complied with your request, his hips finding a stable pace.
No words were needed, almost as if you were both too scared to ruin the moment. The small pants and grunts from the both of you while the sound of skin slapping skin filled the room seemed to be the only noise needed.
Your hand eventually wrapped around your mouth once again as you felt your thighs start to shake, one of his hands coming down to rub your clit to help you, and moving your hand to replace it with his lips, smirking as you whined into him.
However the kiss didn’t stop there, or after he came, or even past that.
It wasn’t until a sudden realization hit that he pulled away.
“We might have to stay even later.” He chuckled.
“Why?” You furrowed your brows.
“We never wrote the lyrics.”

Lee Daehwi - Banquet
Requested By: anonny~ (“ HOLA MI CHICA! can i request a Lee Daehwi fic where liKe it's kind of a romeo and juliet thing? where they like meet at a party and kiss but then he shows up by her balcony? ”)
Genre: Fluff, kind of cliche but it’s cute ;A;
Note: So at first I was thinking this would all be fine, but this fic got more involved than I was expecting. I’ve never really written royal!au type fics before, and this is kind of like that as it was requested for a Romeo and Juliet type of setting? Anyway, I hope that you all enjoy it! I hope that my struggles weren’t in vain xD As always, feel free to let me know what you think! ^^
Enjoy~
Because of the situation with tumblr links, please check my bio for links to my masterlist~

No matter how many times you attended these types of parties, you were never going to get used to them. Everyone was dressed to the nine, flaunting their gorgeous gowns, elegant overcoats, and finest jewelry. This wasn't the world that you were born into. So, each time, at your cousin's request, that you were put into a tight bodice, hair pulled back and styled, draped in a dress that was far more than anything your parents could afford with a year's worth of their pay, you always felt out of place. You were by definition, in every way, a commoner. You were a young girl born to two working-class parents. Your mother was a seamstress, and your father worked at the docks. You worked at a bakery in the middle of town, and in your eyes, there really wasn't anything extraordinary about you. You were just an average girl.
But tonight, you were dolled up, paraded around as if you were part of the elite.
You weren’t here because you wanted to feel the thrill of being at a big fancy party. You were here because of your cousin, Yuna. Unlike you, she was part of one of the most revered families in your tiny town, your aunt having married into the Duchess' family. She had everything she could have asked for. Wealth, the royal title, the ability to do whatever she wanted, and many other things. In contrast, you worked day in and day out to just afford necessities. Even though the two of you were very different, you were also very close. She never saw you as lowly, someone that was beneath her. Instead, she saw you as an equal in every way. The two of you would often spend any free time you had together. Which was also why you knew about her current dilemma. She was soon to be married, and you were the first one she came running to.
"I've barely thought of what I'm going to do when we travel to the next town over next week, and they want me to start thinking of marriage?! They already have everything planned out too!" she whined as the pair of you sat on her bed. Yuna pulled her legs up towards her torso, face buried in her pillow as she let out another muffled groan. You remained at your spot on the edge of her bed, straightening out her dress that was draped on the nearby chair.
“Do your parents know?” you inquired, flattening out the fabric before looking over at her. You heard her groan again as she nodded.
"They are most definitely aware. The issue is that my say doesn't matter. My father gave me the talk about how it's time for me to start thinking about the family's power, about expanding our roots. My grandparents think much of the same. My mother understands my concerns, but she also believes that it's time for marriage. Apparently, she also married around this age as well," Yuna explained, a pout forming on her lips. "I'm aware that people of my status are to be married off, to start their own families. Yet, there are things that I want to do for myself. These things don't occur to them..."
You gave a small nod in understanding. Truthfully, you could understand where here frustration was coming from. Though you were a couple years too young to be worrying about this just yet, your mother had been bringing it up more frequently. She told you of the time when girls were to be wed, about the process of finding the right suitor, and how the entire thing could be quite stressful on families. You would have preferred to meet someone by chance, but you knew that wasn't the world that you lived in, and that something similar to what Yuna was going through, but with less fanfare, would also be in your future. If you were lucky, you'd still end up with a nice boy from your town. "Is your marriage happening soon?" you asked.
Yuna let out a defeated sigh. "Unfortunately for me, it's happening very soon. They want to start introducing me to available suitors next week. The plan is to have five eligible young men from the surrounding towns come here to meet me. They want to through a large banquet, make a festivity out of it, just so I can see which one I'm compatible with, that we may be able to move forward with. I'm worried that I'll feel isolated, that I will not know anyone there. These are usually parties for people of our parents' age, not our own..."
"But your friends will be there, won't they? You won't be completely alone," you reminded her.
"They will, but I'm sure their parents will want them looking out for their best interests as well. They're my friends, but they are also carrying their own family's pride as well. It has me worried and nervous. What if this goes downhill?" she confessed, muddling over the event in her head. However, an idea seemed to strike her, and she sat up straight. "I know! Why don't you come to the banquet too!"
Your eyes widened as you tore your eyes away from the dress you were trying to work the wrinkles out of. This seemingly harmless conversation just turned into something more intense. “M-me? W-w-why would I go?!” you exclaimed, now in shock over her proclamation.
"Because we're close and I trust you. Look, everyone else that's going to be there has some sort of agenda. My parents are trying to marry me off. My friends will be trying to find someone for themselves. You're the only one who I know will be impartial during the entire process. Come on, as my cousin, please do this for me? I’m going to be nervous as it is and having someone that is both family and a familiar face there is going to help a lot. Please?” she urged, and that's all it really took for you to say yes. Within the week, your aunt helped to get you fitted for a dress. On the night of your aunt and mother worked to doll you up, much like they had your cousin.
Both your mother and aunt worked to make sure that you didn't outshine Yuna, and you were okay with that. After all, you weren't there to be noticed that night. You were there to be support for your cousin. You stood by her side throughout the night, listening as she conversed with suitor after suitor. From time to time, they would address you, and you were very quick to divert their attention back to Yuna. You listened as she giggled softly while speaking with three of them, giving them each a chance to woo her, to appeal themselves to her. You watched over her fondly, glad that she was starting to loosen up, not seeming as nervous as she had earlier in the evening. Though she gave you a scare earlier, by almost fainting, to see her now, talking happily with the young men, it made you happy, happy that she was finding her place.
Although tonight was about Yuna, about finding her a suitable husband, you felt a pair of eyes following you around all night. You knew exactly who it was, yet you couldn't figure out why he seemed so interested in you. Still, you looked away from your cousin for just a moment, just long enough to lock eyes with a gentle figure that had been glancing at you from across the ballroom. And at that moment, you realized that all it took to be enraptured by Lee Daehwi was a simple glance...
You had met Daehwi earlier in the evening. Your cousin had been conversing with her friends about things that didn't concern you. So to give them some privacy, you slipped away, wandering around the large ballroom to try and find a place to yourself. After weaving through the large crowd, greeting those that greeted you first, you found yourself in a far corner. It was just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the crowd, but close enough where you could make your way back to Yuna if needed. The quiet was nice. It gave you a chance to collect yourself... at least until a voice to your side made you jump.
"I take that you're also trying to get away from all of the excitement?" He watched as you turned to him, eyes wide. He found your reaction amusing, eyes focusing on the way your demeanor quickly shifted.
"O-oh... well, I suppose you could say that," you replied with a light laugh. "I'm not really accustomed to banquets such as this one..."
The male quirked a brow at you. "You seem like a lady of high status. Don't you go to these types of events often?" he inquired. He had found you very lovely at first, but hearing that you weren’t used to this type of thing made you even more interesting to him.
You regretted the words as soon as they left your lips. Tonight, you were supposed to be one of them, to be regal like the other people in the room. Yet here you were, blabbing to a stranger that you weren't what you seemed. It was a bit too late to backtrack now, however. He would only grow suspicious of you if you did.
"You see," you started slowly, choosing your words carefully. "My cousin is Lady Yuna. Unlike her, I'm not part of the elite, but the two of us are fond of each other, we grew up together. I'm here tonight to give her emotional support while her parents introduce her to suitor after suitor." You realized that your words could be construed as false as if you were some commoner that just snuck in to enjoy the festivities, but you hoped that he didn’t take it in that way. He seemed kind enough. He wouldn’t… right?
The young male's brow furrowed at your words, yet as he thought of them, they felt plausible. After all, there was no way a commoner could sneak in dressed as well as you were. No, there was no way they would be able to afford the extravagant gown you had, the jewelry the adorned you. These were all tell-tale signs that someone wanted you here, and he was not about to question that.
"Your secret is safe with me," he reassured you. He watched as your lips curled into a smile, the most beautiful smile he had ever seen. At that moment, something struck his heart. It was a feeling that the young man had never felt before. Yet, he tried to ignore it for the time being. “My name is Lee Daehwi, and you are?”
You quickly told him your name as he gingerly took your hand and gave it a kiss, making you blush at the sudden contact. “Are you here to court Lady Yuna as well?” you inquired.
He shook his head gently. "I am not... currently. My parents sent me here to see who had sent their children to court her. They are interested in a marriage with her family though. They just don't want to rush it yet. You said you were close with Lady Yuna, yes? Maybe you could tell me a bit more about yourself, and about here as well?" he suggested. Though it was a little painful to know that you were a means to an end to get to know your cousin, you agreed. Because the truth was that you found the male before you entrancing. You found him more interesting than anything at this party.
You spoke with Daehwi for what felt like an eternity. At first, it was simple things. You talked about your upbringing as well as his own. You spoke a bit about your cousin, but the conversation quickly shifted off of her and back to you. You learned a lot about each other, things that you liked about each other. This no longer felt like a chance to gather information. It became about getting to know someone you had a connection with. But, before much could come of it - though you were sure nothing would - one of Yuna's maids appeared before you, requesting that you follow her. Your cousin had been looking for you and sent her maids around the ballroom looking for you. With a nod, you agreed to head back with her, and as fast as you had arrived in Daehwi's life, you were gone.
The majority of the evening from that point on was spent at your cousin's side. You often steal glances at Daehwi while he talked with other party attendees. To say that you felt something while the two of you talked would have been putting it mildly. You had grown fond of Daehwi. You had a bit of a crush, puppy love, for someone you knew didn’t feel the same about you. You pushed it aside as best you could, hid it behind a wall as your cousin told you of her evening, the people that she clicked with immediately as well as those she would like to avoid.
As the night drew to a close the ballroom floor came to life, each suitor offering their hand to Yuna for a final dance. You stood by, watching the spectacle in front of you before you felt a tap on your shoulder. Thinking it was one of the maids, you quickly turned, only to come face to face with someone you weren’t expecting.
“Daehwi!” you exclaimed, surprised to see him there with a smile on his face.
“Would you share this dance with me?” he asked, extending his hand to you.
You were hesitant to take his offer, knowing where you stood with him, but your heart told you to take the opportunity while you could, and you let him lead you into the crowd. He was quick to lead in the dance, holding you by the waist as he let you adjust to the tempo of the song. You had never been much of a dancer, but Daehwi was patient. Once you had found your way, he led you around the dance floor, holding you close as you moved amongst the other exquisite ladies and gentlemen.
"How has your night been?" Daehwi asked gently.
"It's been as expected. Been keeping Yuna company while she meets with person after person," you told him. Yet, this was when you realized something. "But, Daehwi, I realized that you haven't spoken to Yuna all night. I thought you were here to introduce yourself as well?"
A smile formed on his lips, obviously amused that you hadn't said anything about his absence earlier. “May I tell you the truth?”
You gave a small nod and he leaned in a bit closer to tell you his secret. You were on edge, but you wanted to know, your curiosity getting the better of you. “I was here to meet Yuna, but I believe that I met someone better… and she is here in my arms now.”
When his words resonated with you, your face turned a brilliant red, making the young man before you laugh. “Did you not notice that I would often purposefully avoid her?”
"I-I did, but I thought you were just biding your time," you admitted. "But Daehwi... you know the truth about me. You know that I'm no well-off. I work in a bakery. My parents work in the town..." you reminded him.
"I'm aware, but it's also what I like about you. Your outlook on life is completely different than girls that grew up as part of the court. You're kind, you're gentle. I've never met anyone like you." Daehwi knew that his words could have been taken as strong, insistent, but he couldn't help it. He liked you, and he didn't want to miss the opportunity to make it known.
“Even so, you can’t tell your parents that you fell in love with a commoner. They'll be upset.”
You were right. His parents would be livid. He came here to meet a noblewoman, and instead fell in love with a woman of a completely different class. “I know, but I… I want to make this work. Please let me try to convince them?”
Though reluctant and wary, you agreed. As you nodded, you felt a soft pair of lips against yours, sending a warmth straight to your heart. And that was how your night came to an end.
========
The festivities ended late into the evening, Yuna suggesting that you should stay with her and leave in the morning. You knew she wanted to do it to hear about what you thought of such a party, as well as to tell you who she had planned to meet again amongst her suitors. Noticing the change in your demeanor, how much happier you seemed, she also managed to weasel out of you the source of your smile. Nervously, you told her of her own run-in with a boy that had captured your heart in such a short amount of time. She kept telling you it was love at first sight, a true love, and you only brushed her off saying that she was being silly. There was no way. He would go home and completely forget about you.
While Yuna went to get ready for bed, you took the chance to wander out onto her balcony, needing some fresh air. Your mind wandered back to that dance, to that kiss, and you couldn't help the light flush that came to your cheeks when you realized how effortlessly your first kiss had been stolen.
As you looked below, watching as the other noble partygoers got into their carriages to head home, your eyes caught sight of a familiar male. He was about to get into the carriage just below your balcony. Feeling eyes on him, he looked up and locked eyes with you as he waited for his turn to enter. "Did you have a good night?" he called out, simultaneously making you smile and blush like mad.
“I did, thanks to a very special person,” you said back.
“I think you’ll be seeing that very special person again soon. Just keep your eyes peeled,” he told you, before disappearing into the carriage and riding off into the night.
It was weeks later, without hearing a word from him, that a large carriage appeared at your home. Daehwi stepped out from it and greeted your parents. He told them who he was, of his noble family and how he wanted to take your hand in marriage. He arrived with offerings to appease your parents. The rest of it was history. Because of that chance meeting away from the crowd, because of that connection you had with him, that was how the two of you could live happily ever after...

Happy Dae Hwi Day~01/29/2019
Tumblr media
In which Dae Hwi’s 18th birthday comes with a little surprise.
Just finished a take home quiz for today and I’m pooped. But wanted to write a little something for our magu magu member of Wanna One. Happy Birthday, Lee Dae Hwi! Your future is bright and I can’t wait to see what you do with it ^^
Due to the link issue with tumblr, please go to my blog page for the master list.
Dae Hwi scribbled some more words onto his sheet before turning back to the electric piano to play a few more notes, turning right back to scribble a few more lines, completing the verse. Setting down his pencil, he reached his arms up to stretch, noticing Woo Jin on his phone.
“Hyung, did you come up with the rap lyrics yet? You know we’re supposed to have this done by tomorrow.”
Woo Jin nodded absentmindedly, still on his phone. Dae Hwi sighed and looked down at his notes before picking up the pencil again, twirling it in his fingers as he tried to come up with more lyrics for the song Rhymer was expecting. He was slightly sad that there wouldn’t be anything exciting for his birthday this year. After all, they were working hard on producing songs for his and Woo Jin’s debut later on.
From the corner of his eye, Dae Hwi saw Woo Jin stand up and leave the room, answering his phone as he did so. Who was he talking to? Probably one of the hyungs? The thought of Woo Jin talking to one of them made Dae Hwi slightly sad, but he quickly shot the thought out of his mind. It wasn’t like it was the end of the world; he’d see them all again at future music shows.
Little to Dae Hwi’s knowledge, Woo Jin was indeed on the phone with “one of the hyungs” but that wasn’t all. He was given the signal that all of Wanna One had gathered to surprise Dae Hwi for his birthday tomorrow. Looking at the time on his watch, it was a mere 5 minutes before the clock struck midnight. As he walked into the lobby of their building, he saw various things happen at once.
Min Hyun and Sung Woon were helping light the cake, Jin Young and Ji Hoon were passing out noisemakers to everyone else, while Ji Sung fussed around, making sure that everything was ready for the surprise. Woo Jin walked over to Ji Sung and placed a hand on his shoulder.
“Hyung, relax. He doesn’t have any idea you’re all here.”
“Woo Jin, you have no idea how hard it was to get everyone here! Now that we don’t have the same drivers anymore, it was such a struggle!”
“Ji Sung hyung, keep your voice down. What if Dae Hwi hears us?” Seong Wu shushed as he walked up to the frazzled leader. Guan Lin also followed suit and patted the leader’s shoulder reassuringly.
“It’s okay, hyung. Everything will be okay!”
“How can you all say that when Jae Hwan isn’t here yet???”
Woo Jin looked around and noticed that Jae Hwan indeed wasn’t there yet.
“Wait, I thought you said everyone was here.”
“That’s what I thought until I Min Hyun told me that Jae Hwan was late. Why did he take the subway tonight of all nights?”
Suddenly the lobby door opened and they all turned to see Daniel walk in with Jae Hwan in tow. Daniel was smiling and went over to appease Ji Sung, while Jae Hwan looked really apologetic for being late.
“It’s okay Ji Sung Hyung, Jjaeni is here now! I met up with him at the subway an led him here.”
“Sorry Ji Sung hyung...I didn’t mean to be late. My manager couldn’t drive last minute so I had to take the subway.”
Woo Jin looked at his phone again and saw that it was 11:59 pm. Looking up, he quickly ushered everyone towards the practice room.
“It’s okay Jae Hwan hyung. You’re here so let’s head in, we have a minute left!”
Thankfully the cake was done and thanks to winkdeep, everyone had a noisemaker ready.
Dae Hwi was just about to go looking for Woo Jin before the door burst open and all of Wanna One walked through the door singing him happy birthday. He couldn’t help but get teary-eyed as he waited for the song to end before blowing out the candles.
Sure, it might have been a quieter birthday than last year, but he knew he wouldn’t have to worry about them anymore. It was good to finally be 18, and Wanna One would be there for him whenever he needed it.

Friends to lovers! | Daehwi
genre: fluff
member: daehwi & other wanna one members
requested: yess!
summary: you unintentionally made daehwi jealous but that is a blessing in disguise because that is how you got together with him.
side note: thank you so much anon for requesting this 💓 i’m really so so sorry for making you wait ㅠㅠㅠ i hope this meets your expectations :>
in school, you don’t exactly have a good life there
because of your results
since you’re ranked no.1 most of the time
you made a lot of students especially the girls jealous
more than often, they played tricks on you
whenever they are in front of you, you always try your best not to show weakness
but they would start pushing their limits each time
there was once where they started throwing your books all over the class
and that one incident changed your life
it was when daehwi came and saved you
daehwi is one of the more popular guys in your class
and him saving you is such a big thing
“stop! what are you girls doing?” daehwi screamed while he helped you up
and after that day, the news about daehwi helping you spread to the rest of the students
and none of the girls approached you ever since that day
because daehwi told you to join him and his friends
at first, you strongly objected because you know how popular his group of friends is
and you would feel like a small bean beside them
but when you hear daehwi say, “we want to protect you, y/n”
that left you speechless and you couldn’t help but to say okay
so yes
from that day onwards, you are always hanging out with them
and because of daehwi, you feel safe 24/7
anyways
so you’re at the cafeteria with them, having lunch
and since you’re feeling extra hungry that day, you decided to grab more food
“so when are you going to confess to y/n, daehwi?” jisung asked
this made the rest of them started laughing while daehwi got flustered at the sudden question
“w-what do you mean! i don’t understand what are you talking about” daehwi stammered
“COME ON DAEHWI, we all know you like y/n!” woojin announced
“HYUNG lower your voice! she can hear you!”
“it is so obvious you look at her with heart eyes, even a fool could tell” jinyoung added in
“i-i don’t know... i don’t think y/n will give me a chance”
daehwi sighed while thinking about all those times where you talked to the other guys in class
he would undeniably feel a tint of jealousy whenever he sees you getting close to them
daehwi started developing a crush on you ever since you guys got in the same class
he noticed that you’re the only girl that actually paid attention in class
he finds it funny whenever you try to write notes because the teacher talks as if he is rapping
and after the first encounter with you, that is when daehwi found his heart beating for you
it was when he wanted to pass a message to jinyoung who is your deskmate
and he wanted to throw the paper at jinyoung
but daehwi missed and threw it at your head instead
at that point in time, daehwi wanted to just run away and hide in a hole
did he really just throw the paper at you?
but when you turned and gave him a smile, that is when his world started collapsing
it is the sweetest smile he has ever seen
“i’m really sorry, y/n. i really didn’t mean to throw it at you! i’m supposed to throw it to jinyoung but you know! i’m really sorry, y/n”
daehwi thought you would be scolding him at how clumsy he is
but instead, you let out a soft chuckle which makes his heart flutter
“it’s okay, it’s not a big deal anyway” you replied
from then on, daehwi started having a crush on you
but even until today, he has been keep his feelings deep in his heart
because one, he is afraid that you would reject him
and two, he didn’t want to spoil this friendship
even though he kept his feelings a secret but definitely not to the rest of them
the rest of his friends could tell daehwi has been in love with you for a long time
and they always wanted to encourage daehwi to confess
but you have never noticed it anything
because you're that dense
even when the rest are busy teasing daehwi, you still don't get what's going on
daehwi decided to keep things this way until one day
one morning where he saw you with another guy
that guy is just leaning beside your locker while you take your books out
seeing you with another guy is sad enough
but looking at how you smile at him hurts daehwi even more
it's the same smile that you gave him
at that moment, daehwi couldn't help but to sigh
he thought he is someone special to you
but turns out to be wrong
looking at how happy you're with your friend, daehwi decided to just walk away
and no matter how much he tried to forget about the image of you and your friend being so happy together
he just couldn’t
he really thought he has a special place in your heart
but turns out to be his own wishful thinking
although that incident lasted only for 5 minutes
it bugged daehwi for the rest of the day
till a point where he is not himself anymore
woojin started noticing how he dazed out during class which is usually not the case
even when woojin called daehwi, he never heard him as well
that is when it caught your attention
the first question that came to your mind is "is daehwi okay?”
from the looks on his face, you could tell there is something bothering daehwi for sure
and true enough
even during break time, he still look sad
“daehwi, are you okay?” you caught up with him
“y-yeah i’m fine, y/n...” he sighed
and before anyone of you could continue asking, daehwi decided to excuse himself
that’s when you know something amiss
when woojin and you started exchanging looks with one another
you went to find daehwi and be by his side
“daehwi! i know something’s bothering you, what’s wrong?” you hang your arm over his shoulder
“y/n! well i... i just don’t know what’s wrong with me!” daehwi cried
“you can tell me what happened right from the start and i can help you” you suggested
you remembered how daehwi is the one that saved you when you’re in danger
and now looking at how daehwi is feeling so troubled
you just want to do the same and be there for him
“i got so jealous and sad when i saw you with another guy this morning... i know i’m supposed to keep my feelings a secret but i just can’t help it anymore”
“i like you, y/n” daehwi confessed while looking at you in the eye
without saying anything, you hugged him tightly
for the longest time, you have also been crushing on daehwi
but because you’re such a dense person
you find yourself questioning about your feelings most of the time
“i like you too, daehwi”
“i have been liking you for all these while and i never noticed it myself”
and you just couldn’t stop smiling
“what about that guy! i thought you like him because you’re smiling so much...” daehwi questioned
“he is my cousin that i didn’t know he is in the same school as me until i saw him this morning” you giggled
jealous daehwi is definitely a cute side of him
“don’t worry, you’re the one that i love and no other guys matter to me” you hugged him once more
“i thought i was going to lose you... you scared me, y/n!”
looking at how the both of you managed to tell each other your feelings made you so relieved
you guys soon went back to find the rest of them
and as you’re walking towards the table
daehwi suddenly stopped you and grab your hand
you could feel his finger intertwined with yours
and just when you wondered why did he do that suddenly, you got the answer when you look up
daehwi wanted to show you off to his friends
and when they noticed how you guys are holding hands and walking so close together
they started cheering for you
especially ong seongwoo
you know how loud his voice can be
you got so shy that you’re receiving so much attention suddenly
“our maknae is finally growing up” jisung cried
“i’m not that young anymore, hyung!” daehwi protested
“FINALLY DAEHWI HAS CONFESSED” woojin added in
“daehwi has been crushing on you for the longest time and now you guys are together, what a happy ending” daniel pretended to cry which made everyone laugh
at that moment, you knew making daehwi jealous is a blessing in disguise
if not for your cousin, you wouldn’t know daehwi’s little crush on you right?

Produce 101/Wanna One: Lee Daehwi
You turned up the volume of the radio in his car while your legs were sitting atop the curve of his vehicle. You hummed to the familiar beat of the song to which the young male also followed afterwards.
He tapped on your left leg before speaking, "Have you ever thought it through? There could be thousands of guys actually thinking about you, but never actually meeting you."
"That's ridiculous, I mean I have." You snorted making him laugh, "Honestly Daehwi, it's ridiculous."
"It can't be that bad." He shrugged before getting the bag from the backseat and handing you a piece of cake. You rolled your eyes at his acclaim before accepting the dessert. You said, "You're bringing me on a roadtrip. Was this exactly a good idea?"
Daehwi sighed brushing his free palm against your cheek, "You'll love it. It's peaceful and scenic."
"It's July," you cocked a brow, "everything's scenic."
He smiled after letting go of your cheek. It was only an hour and a half long drive before you got there. He watched you kick on the stones near the river before wrapping you in his arms. His breath warming your neck in the process as you continued the kick in more rocks into the waters.
You said, "I was concerned if there was something up and you didn't want to talk about it."
"What would I have talked about?" He asked slowly pulling you closer to him.
"Are you feeling all right?" You started to which he paused for a moment before answering you slowly, "I just missed you. I felt like shit for a week--couldn't go around as freely as I can much anymore. It's shitty."
You huffed, "I did tell you to call."
"Wasn't up for it," he sighed. Daehwi turned you around to face him before he kissed you until you were slightly opening your mouth for him. He didn't stay innocent, he was still a male and he learned to crave for a million things. He broke it off, "I really needed to touch you, I kept clamping my hands around things that weren't you."
You nodded your head brushing your nose against him in the process. He tilted his head back to let out another sigh, "It didn't feel right not having you there. It felt ridiculous."
"It felt funny," you admitted, "you weren't there on the bed singing or near the television screaming and dancing at things."
"I surely didn't miss that." He snorted, his hand going through your hair tugging it back a bit for you to let out a soft groan. He smirked knowing how that forced an expression from you.
You said, "But you missed that."
"Perhaps," he laughed softly, "I did."

“You’re perfect, impossible for others to surpass. Even your gaze on me feels like a waste.”      -  ‘Super Hot,’ Produce 101 Season 2
“Daehwi,” a sweet voice cooed. “I have something to confess.”
The mentioned male smiled kindly, though he had to resist the urge to roll his eyes. A girl stood in front of him for the seventh time that week, and he knew she was about to utter the same words she had repeated throughout the last few days. ‘I love you,’ they say. But he knew they didn’t really love him, the loved the idea of him.
The idea of him, Lee Daehwi, was ideal to others around him. He was popular, he was handsome, and he was kind. The confessions, the love notes, the flowers -- none of them meant anything to him. Why? Because none of them were sincere. He faked a smile, politely apologized and told the same line ‘I’m not looking for a relationship right now’, almost every day.
In reality, he was looking for a relationship. Just, not with them.
“I really, really, like you,” the girl continued, batting her eyes and twisting a strand of hair with her finger to appear more attractive. “I know what you’re going to say! I just wanted you to know that my feelings are real, okay sweetie?” He did a double take at the new nickname, sweetie? That’s new. The otherwise sweet nickname sounded weird coming from someone whom he barely knew.
“I’m sorry,” he attempted to smile as he recited his scripted response, “I’m not really looking for a partner right now. There are plenty of other people in the world for you, though.” Even through his cushioned reply, the girl’s expression fell. She nodded sadly, forcing a smile before turning on her heel. He felt bad, seeing such a reaction, but he’d rather reject a suitor than lead them on. If he did that, he wouldn’t know what to do with himself.
He let out a sigh, his head pounding. “You okay there, Daehwi?” his friend, Woojin asked as he opened his nearby locker. “Another confession?” He only nodded, pressing his forehead against the cool surface of the steel locker. His hand dangled from the lock, his fingers idly twisting and turning it until it unlocked. “I don’t envy you,” Woojin chuckled, sweeping a hand through his dark brown locks.
Daehwi gave him a tired look before shuffling through his locker to grab his textbook. “Says you,” he commented, “Mr. Soccer Player with thousands of fans.” At this, Woojin rolled his eyes and let out a laugh. Daehwi soon followed suit, amused chuckles tumbling from his lips. His eyes trailed away from Woojin for a second, freezing on a single form in the hallway that seemed to stand out.
   That form, was you.
Woojin carried on, denying Daehwi’s supposed nickname for him, but it was no use. Daehwi’s attention was no longer on his friend, but on you. It confused him, how easily you took hold of his attention. You never once looked in his direction, unlike the rest of the student body. Yet, even when you simply turned your head, you had his heart racing. You closed your locker, having all of your books and binders in your hands, and turned your heel. Daehwi held his breath. You were walking in his direction, though you didn’t even notice his presence as you walked passed.
   “Daehwi?”
He snapped out of his reverie, unwillingly taking his gaze off of you and returning it to Woojin. Woojin looked at him curiously, his brows raised in question. When he looked over Daehwi’s shoulder, Daehwi flushed. “That’s [Y/N], right?” Woojin wondered, a look of amusement painted over his features. “You keep staring at them. Don’t tell me you…” he trailed off, his smile growing into a grin.
Woojin smacked Daehwi’s shoulder, laughing quietly to himself. “Everyone’s going to be jealous,” he joked, “their precious Daehwi is getting swept off his feet.”
Daehwi stumbled into class a bit late the next day, having missed his bus. His hair was slightly messy and his face was turning red from running. Though he definitely would’ve seen himself as a mess from all of the activity, he caught a few people in the back row fanning themselves. “Sorry I’m late,” he rushed, explaining what had happened. The teacher nodded, having a soft spot for the straight A student.
His eyes darted to his peers, momentarily freezing on you. He noticed that everyone was in different seats. His confusion must’ve been apparent, because the teacher was quick to explain that there was a seat change. “You can go ahead and sit by,” she paused, scanning the room. “I guess there’s only one empty seat, really. Go sit by [Y/N] over there.”
To add to his already rosy cheeks, the thought of sitting close to you had him blushing. He looked over to you, who had your head down as you scribbled away in your notebook. Slowly, he made his way to his newly assigned seat, hesitating as he sat down. “Hey,” he greeted quietly, smiling at you. You looked up, giving him a questioning stare for a moment before smiling. Even though you only smiled briefly, it was enough to get his heart racing.
Daehwi heaved a sigh, he was going to have trouble focusing in class from then on. He knew this very well. After all, how could he focus when you were as radiant as the sun to him?
“Alright class,” the teacher began, putting on her glasses as she peered at her students. The quiet whispers ceased in seconds, most of the students looking at her attentively. “You won’t be doing much this week. Final exams are through, so for now you’ll just be taking notes.” The class mumbled a half-hearted response, not excited to be writing notes in the note-heavy subject.
As the class, teacher included, got ready to write notes, Daehwi fumbled with his stationary, dropping a pen almost as soon as he took it out of his bag. To his dismay, it rolled over and landed beneath your side of the desk. You didn’t seem to realize, too busy writing the date on your paper. He cleared his throat, effectively getting your attention. “My pen,” he began, his words almost incoherent. “It’s under your desk.”
You leaned back, quickly spotting the pen. You passed it back to him, not noticing the way he held his breath when your fingers touched.
“Okay, so this week, we’re studying…”
Daehwi wrote as quickly as he could, struggling to keep up as his eyes kept drifting from the board to you. Eventually, his writing ceased completely, his pen stopping midway in a sentence. He kept glancing at you, trying hard to stay discreet. He must’ve failed, because you took one look at him and pointed to the board. Daehwi sat up straighter, bending over the desk ready to continue writing. Alas, he did the same thing and froze.
   “Lee Daehwi.”
The sound of his teacher’s terse voice snatched him out of his thoughts, making him look up nervously. “Do tell me, what have I just taught to the class? You seem to be drifting off into space, so you must know about what we’re discussing to look so bored.” To top it off, she crossed her arms and cocked a brow.
Daehwi opened his mouth to talk, but no words came out. He tried to look at the board in hopes of even producing an answer, but she stood right in front of it all, blocking his view. Before he could even throw in the towel, confess to not listening as he should’ve been, he heard a small tap. He looked down, watching as you pushed your notes toward him. There was a circled passage, in red marker.
“Korea’s history,” he said slowly, “and how an agreement was made in 1953 to end the Korean war.” He ended confidently, looking his teacher right in the eyes. She raised a brow, not expecting an answer, even if it was basic answer, and nodded. She promptly turned around and continued the lesson, choosing to ignore Daehwi’s drifting away for the time being. When the teacher stopped looking, he turned to you gratefully, mouthing a simple ‘thank you.’
You smiled in response, though pointing your pen to the front. “Listen this time,” you whispered, going back to taking notes. Daehwi looked at you for a moment longer, amazed at how effortlessly you followed along, whilst he had to rush to even finish his notes. Shaking his head, he began to look at the board, not wanting a repeat of what had just occurred.
As the days passed, you continued to help Daehwi out little by little. You’d help him with classwork when he didn’t know the answers (you even seemed to teach him better than the actual teacher), you gave him an extra pen and sometimes paper when he didn’t have any, and you even defended him when the teacher called him out for not listening again, explaining that she simply spoke to quickly for him to follow.
You most definitely were not making things easier for him.
With every little deed, no matter how miniscule in importance, he began to fall for you even harder. In his eyes, you were perfect. He saw over your flaws, though he didn’t really mind them, and only looked to you with complete adoration. To him, no one could surpass you. You had his heart, and you didn’t even try. His feelings were out in the open, and it didn’t take long for you to know about them.
Woojin and Jihoon were the first to catch on, jokingly implying his little crush on you during lunch. “Hey Daehwi,” Jihoon had sung, “look over there, it’s [Y/N]!” To no one’s surprise, Daehwi was turning faster than you could say ‘I’. When he didn’t see you walking by like Jihoon had said, he let out a groan realizing he had gotten caught in his little trap hook, line, and sinker.
“I told you,” Woojin snickered, “Daehwi’s totally got a crush.”
Daehwi lowered his head into his hands, the tips of his ears burning profusely. He couldn’t even deny the fact, know just how obvious he was being. “Hey, [Y/N],” he heard Woojin say. Daehwi didn’t bother moving, assuming they were just pulling another joke on him.
   “Hey… I don’t know your name, actually.”
When he heard your voice, Daehwi moved to sit up, only to hit his head on the cafeteria table. The noise was loud, grasping the surrounding table’s attention. Including yours. He let out a groan, holding his head in pain while his friends laughed. “Thanks guys,” he mumbled sarcastically, rubbing his sore scalp. His eyes darted to you, who seemed to look at him with concern. A sheaf of papers were in your hands, your writing all over it.
“You alright there?” you asked, though your voice held a hint of mirth. “You hit your head pretty hard.”
Daehwi only nodded, his words suddenly leaving him. From across the table, Guanlin grinned cheekily. “Don’t worry,” he waved his hand. “He’s fine. He just gets a lil’ nervous around you, is all.” If looks could kill, Guanlin would’ve been six feet under. He opened his mouth to retort, but he appeared to be a little tongue-tied, his words catching in his throat.
You chuckled. “What? Do you like me or something?” Then, there was a moment of silence. The boys looked at one another, having not expected your sudden question. Their silence only confirmed the answer you had formed in your mind, making your cheeks heat up slightly. “Oh,” you mumbled. If possible, Daehwi’s embarrassment became even stronger after your brief answer. He would’ve given anything to be able to crawl into a hole and never resurface.
Clearing your throat, you handing Daehwi the few papers in your hands. “These are the notes you missed yesterday,” you mumbled awkwardly. “Mrs. Cha had me copy down  the notes for you, since we’re, y’know, seatmates.” You coughed, promptly turning on your heel and speed walking away.
Daehwi didn’t bother calling you back, feeling more dejected than ever. “They just rejected me,” he gathered, hunching over and pressing his forehead against the bundle of papers you had given him. Jihoon pat his back, feeling bad for his friend. Oppositely, Woojin sighed.
“They didn’t technically reject you,” he commented, taking a swig of his water. “They just didn’t comment on your feelings. Yet.” His little notion did nothing to make Daehwi feel better, as he only shifted to rest his chin atop his crossed arms with a small frown upon his lips. Seeing his words of encouragement didn’t affect him, Woojin nudged his shoulder. “Poor little Daehwi,” he sighed sardonically.
Daehwi, narrowed his eyes at Woojin, despite knowing the aforementioned male was merely joking and testing him. “I’m not a baby,” he grumbled.
Guanlin chuckled, “Maybe not a baby, but you’re acting like a kicked puppy.”
Jihoon nodded in agreement. “They’re right, you know. Besides, like Woojin said, [Y/N] didn’t actually reject you. So stop moping around, man. That’s not going to get you anywhere.” After his comment, the group of boys continued on with their lunch as usual. All four of them except Daehwi, anyway. He stayed in his position, staring at a spot on the table. He thought about their words and tried to believe them, but all he could think of was the look on your face after Guanlin had made that comment.
You made the same face he makes whenever he was confessed to.
But you never seemed to be appalled whenever you caught him looking at you in class. He felt confused to no end, but Jihoon was right. Feeling down about himself wasn’t going to get him straight answers like he wanted. With a sudden wave of determination, he whipped out his phone and started typing.
His sudden movement confused the boys, prompting Jihoon to glance over his shoulder at what he was typing so fervently. “Flowers?” he mumbled aloud. Two and two clicked together in his mind and he grinned, proudly throwing his arm over Daehwi’s shoulders. “You see this, guys? Our baby otter is making a move.”
Guanlin peered over the table, laughing to himself. He wiped away an imaginary tear, “They grow up so fast.”
The next day, when you opened your locker you weren’t expecting a bouquet of purple flowers to come falling out. “What the?” you wondered, inspecting the pretty bunch. You noticed a little note sticking out of the bouquet, familiar printing written on it. “Did you know that purple lilacs mean purple lilacs mean ‘first love’? Flowers are beautiful, don’t you think?” you read to yourself, flipping the card over. “From,” you sucked in a deep breath, “Daehwi.”
“That’s cute,” your friend, Minju, commented, grinning at the bouquet.
You nodded, but you weren’t focusing on the bouquet. “How’d he even get this in my locker?” you asked yourself, looking down at the bunch of lilacs. “The only one who knows my combination is --” you stopped yourself short, deadpanning at Minju. She smiled innocently, as if she hadn’t given away your combination. You heaved a sigh, inspecting the flowers once more. “You’re lucky I think this is sweet,” you mumbled, gently placing the bouquet back in your locker, “otherwise I would’ve disowned you on the spot.”
The flowers kept coming. Every day after lunch, you’d return to your locker to find another bouquet in your locker. Each day was a different flower -- on Tuesday it was jasmines. On Wednesday it was arbutus flowers, Thursday’s was asters, and Friday’s were white carnations. If you were honest, you found yourself looking forward to them and the little messages that came with them. All of them pointed toward love, a feat that made you nervous, but knowing the kind face who was behind them all set you to ease.
If anything, you were confused. You and Daehwi had never interacted before that seating change, and you never thought you would have otherwise. Daehwi was popular, and frankly you weren’t. You were just one of the students trying to get by high school with decent grades. So when he suddenly began looking over at you in class, and sending those flowers, you were stumped.
How did you feel about Daehwi?
The next week, along with flowers, came the compliments. He was in class a minute or two before you arrived, and when you did he looked at you with a big smile. In all honesty, you thought his smile was ethereal; it was insane that he was only a student and not some model under a big company. “[Y/N],” he smiled, “you’re driving me crazy, you know that? I’m going to lose it, why are you so perfect all the time?”
The sudden compliment was enough to get you flustered. You definitely hadn’t expected it, nor had you expected the compliments that followed throughout the week. You happened to be walking past when he and his friend -- one of the boys you had seen at the table with him -- were talking about you. “Why do you like them so much? You’re practically staring at them with heart eyes every day.”
You made eye contact with Daehwi right before he answered, making him smile gently. “They’re… special. Something about them just,” he looked back at his friend, as though he didn’t just send your heart into overdrive. “-- keeps drawing me in.”
You quickly looked away, busying yourself with your locker, knowing you would’ve kept staring otherwise. Daehwi’s sudden confidence was alarming, and it made you feel weak under his gaze. You hid your burning face in your locker, the subtle smell of flowers hitting you.
Lee Daehwi would be the death of you.
The following week, it got worse. The weather had gotten bad, with it pouring almost every day. Finally, on the Friday, it hadn’t been raining buckets when you woke up. Unassuming, you didn’t wear a jacket to school. That had been a major mistake, as halfway through the day, it had begun to rain yet again. By the time school was over, you were hiding under one of the elongated roofs, not wanting to walk out into the rain.
   “[Y/N]?”
When you turned, you were met with Daehwi’s concerned expression. “Where’s your jacket? It’s cold today.” He searched your body for any sight of one, and when he didn’t find one he looked back up at you with knitted brows.
“I forgot it today,” you sighed, staring out into the heavy rain. “It’s okay,” you smiled, “I’ll live without it for one day.”
Daehwi shook his head, “You’re going to get sick.” To your surprise, he began to strip himself of his own, probably warm, jacket. “Here, take mine.” You opened your mouth, ready to decline his kind offer. “Don’t worry,” he pointed behind himself, “I have a spare in my locker, it’s okay. Just take it, alright? The last thing I want is for you to get sick.” He placed the clothing in your hands before waving goodbye and running around the corner.
He hid behind the corner, watching as you looked at the jacket before putting it on, a small smile on his face when you did. The sight of you in his clothes made him feel warm, despite his underlying worry that you’d somehow manage to get sick anyway. When you ran off into the ran, using your bag as cover, he let go of a breath he didn’t realize he was holding. He looked off at the rain, as you had moments before. Sighing, he braced himself for the cold rain.
He had lied -- he didn’t really have another jacket.
Daehwi couldn’t come in the next day, having unfortunately caught a cold from running to his stop without a jacket. When you heard he had gotten sick, which was somehow the talk of the school, you felt horribly guilty. You had realized that he lied after the fact, the mere image of his jacket, which now hung in your locker, making you feel bad.
Daehwi was able to return the next week, feeling much better than he had been. Though, he was worried about what you’d think. Woojin had texted him before, saying he’d overheard your conversation with your friend about feeling bad. That’s definitely not what he wanted, but what was done was done.
He neared his locker, his eyes darting the hall for even a glimpse of you. When he did see you, he smiled to himself. But then, he heard something.
“Why don’t you just, I don’t know, get together already?” your friend mumbled. “It’s obvious he likes you, and you like him, don’t you?”
The question had gained his attention, making him unintentionally eavesdrop. “Stop it, guys,” you sighed, exhausted. “For the last time, I’m not getting together with Daehwi. I… don’t like him.”
Hearing his name broke his heart. He truly did think he was getting to you with his small advances. He licked his lips, clearing his suddenly dry throat. Blinking away tears that threatened to fall, he walked off.
You noticed him walk away, wondering if he had heard your little fib. In all truthfulness, you started liking Daehwi after his selfless act. But you knew that the entire school would be against you being together, and that there’d be some people who would judge him for dating a nobody. The thought of Daehwi being picked on, even only a little, was enough to make your heart ache. You were completely different people living different lives in separate worlds.
As the week progressed, it was obvious that he had heard you. The flowers stopped, the compliments too. He stopped smiling at you whenever you made eye contact in the halls or in class, instead looking down whenever he met your gaze. When you returned his jacket, he didn’t even look at you; instead muttering a small ‘thanks’ before completely ignoring you.
A week without talking with Daehwi was painful. You missed your little conversations in class, and the ‘hello’s you’d exchanged in the morning. You didn’t even notice when you had started to be genuinely happy at the sight of the male, not until he stopped appearing before you. Maybe he didn’t even like you anymore, a thought that made unbearingly sorrowful.
“[Y/N]!” someone called after you as you walked away from the school. To your surprise, Jihoon ran up next to you, panting slightly. “You have to do something about Daehwi,” he mumbled, his words jumbled together. “He’s been sad all week and nothing’s been working.”
You bit your lip. “What makes you think I can do anything about that?” With a sigh, “He’s been ignoring me since last week.”
Jihoon nodded, having known this for a while. “That’s true, but he’s doing that because he thinks you don’t like him even though you obviously do.”
You rose a brow, “How did you know…?”
“It’s rather obvious, really. The way you acted around each other was a dead giveaway, but your friends confirmed your feelings at lunch.” If it hadn’t been for the current situation, you would’ve been upset with your friends for revealing your feelings to people just like that, but at the moment you didn’t mind much. “Please, Daehwi’s a mess. He may not seem like it, but he’s really down about, well, you.”
You nodded, frowning deeply. “I’ll do something,” you promised. But then, you were left with another question.
What were you going to do?
Daehwi groaned. His doorbell had been going off for a few minutes now, and he knew his parents were at work. “Coming,” he called sleepily, rubbing the tiredness out of his eyes. He stretched, scrunching his nose as his feet hit the cold floor of his bedroom. He clumsily stumbled out of his room and to the foyer, opening the front door and peeking his head out.
When he saw bursts of purple and yellow, he blinked. Opening the door louder, he furrowed his brows in confusion. “Who’re you?” he mumbled, scratching his head. Someone stood on his front step, holding a rather large bouquet of purple and yellow flowers in front of their face. He easily recognized them as hyacinths and daffodils, flowers he had stumbled across during his research.
“Purple hyacinths mean ‘I’m sorry’ and daffodils symbolize new beginnings.” Daehwi almost fell forward in shock, not expecting to hear your voice. You lowered the bouquet, an apologetic frown set on your lips. “I’m really sorry for what I said in the hallways,” you apologized. “I realize that I hurt your feelings and that was rude of me.”
Your voice saying the very words that got him to shut you out echoed in his head. “It’s alright,” he mumbled, ready to close the door. “Have a nice—“
Before he could even close the door, you slammed your hand on it, stopping him altogether. “Wait,” you said. “Please, hear me out.” Daehwi looked at you, your eyes luring him to you despite himself, and sighed with a nod. “Thank you,” you mumbled, fiddling with the stems. “What I said in the hallway was a big lie. Honestly, I really like you, and I’m really sorry about that. It’s just, we’re so vastly different. People adore you, Daehwi, and I feel like if we started dating some people might see you in a different light.”
Daehwi stared at you with round, unbelieving eyes. “I don’t care about all of that,” he confessed, “I don’t care about how people see me. It hurts that you think I would’ve cared, seeing how open I was with my feelings. I handed you my heart on a silver platter, [Y/N], was that not sign enough that I didn’t care about everyone else?”
Hearing him say it made you want to hit yourself over the head. Seeing your guilt, Daehwi sighed deeply, taking a step out the door, closer to you. Pushing down the hand that held the large bouquet, he brought you closer to him in one swift movement. Before you could even react, he had leaned in and pressed his lips against your own.
The moment felt surreal to him -- kissing someone who he’s pined after for months, the same ‘someone’ who had unintentionally broken his heart, it felt unreal. He held you close, cupping your cheeks with his hands as he moved his lips gently against yours. His eyebrows furrowed together as he moved, his heart pounding against his rib cage.
Mere seconds later, he pulled away, admiring your face in such close proximity. “I forgive you,” he whispered. You bore into his eyes, a wide smile on your face. Then, Daehwi’s eyes shifted to the bouquet that hung loosely between your fingertips. Interlacing his hand with your free one, he smiled sweetly at you. “I guess,” he began, “this is our new beginning.”

Royal Ball | Prince! Lee Daehwi
genre: fluff, royal au
member: Lee Daehwi
requested: yes
a/n: thanks for requesting! Hope you like it! Prince au reminds me a lot of disney princesses and that's where I got my inspiration.
summary: your friend turned out to be the crown prince of your country.
Living at the countryside had its own pros and cons. It's nice to be apart from the busy and crowded capital. Rural area was much calmer, relaxing. However, while becoming one with the nature was good, staying miles away from the town was quite inconvenient. It took you hours of horse riding to reach the capital to sell your crops in the market. On top of that, you were the last one to know if something happened within the kingdom.
It's not that bad, actually. You loved your village. Everyone was kind and it's much easier to become friends with the villagers. Your conversation with them only revolved around crops and livestock, which were things you knew well about. So when you met a man from the capital in the forest and he started a conversation with you, you were worried that you would look ignorant in his eyes because you knew nothing about the kingdom.
"Do you live in the village? What's your name, young lady?" he asked, getting off his horse to walk side by side with you.
The young man seemed very rich. You could see from his expensive-looking clothes, the beautiful white horse he's riding, and the well-made bow slung across his back. A few dead birds hung on the horse's saddle told you that he'd just come back from hunting. You had been collecting medicinal herbs at your grandmother's request when you accidentally bumped into him.
"Yes. Our house isn't too far away from here. My name is Y/N," you answered, still admiring his elegant appearance. You thought he must be a noble. "What's yours?"
The young man stopped in his tracks and looked at you with widened eyes, purely surprised. "You don't know me?"
You narrowed your eyes at him, trying to recall where you might have seen him, but nothing came up. "Sorry, I don't go to the capital that often." Since it's a hassle to ride for hours to the capital, you preferred staying in the village and helping your family tend the farm. "Should I know you?" You winced at how rude that sounded. What if he was the son of the prime minister? "Are you a nobleman? Or someone high up in the government? I'm sorry, we're not that well informed here."
He chuckled and shrugged. "Something like that." Then he cleared his throat. "Well then, allow me to introduce myself, miss." Bowing slightly, he said, "I'm Lee Daehwi from the capital."
Feeling awkward with all the formalities, you froze to the spot, not knowing what to do. Was this how people from the capital greeted each other? You never really paid attention when you last visited the town. When Daehwi looked up and his eyes met you, you're flustered and, not wanting to seem impolite, you quickly curtsied. However, since you're not used to curtsying, you tripped on your dress and toppled over.
Just in time, before you fell, Daehwi caught your arms and steadied you. You were now so close to each other that you felt your cheeks reddening and you hastily moved away, looking everywhere but him.
"You're so clumsy," Daehwi commented, giving you an amused look.
You rolled your eyes at him. "Well, not everyday we curtsy like royals here." You were just joking, but you swore you saw him flinching and tensing at your words.
At that moment, someone appeared before you, riding a brown horse, and interrupted, "There you are, Your High-"
"Oh! I've been waiting for you, Woojin." Daehwi hurriedly interjected and rode his horse again. He continued when the man named Woojin looked like he was about to say something, "Let's go back home."
Woojin seemed confused, but he followed behind Daehwi anyway. You saw the two of them rode their horses, heading out of the forest, so you went back to your job, picking herbs for your grandmother to make tea and medicine. But then you heard Daehwi's voice, "See you again, Y/N!"
You snapped your head towards him and he was waving his hand at you. A smile crept into your face as you waved back at him. He's not bad. Not bad at all.
***
Meeting Daehwi in the forest soon became a weekly routine. You noticed that he always went hunting every Sunday and you, out of habit, waited for him at the entrance of the forest - the place you first met him - in the morning. The two of you would have a small talk, getting to know each other. Woojin was also there with him. Although, he seemed to not like it if Woojin joined in the conversation, because he always cut him off whenever he started talking. Even so, you found him cute.
It was early Sunday morning when the royal guards suddenly visited your house. Neither you nor your family knew what it was about, so they sent you to greet them. It turned out the guards were relaying the message from the king to you, which was very unexpected. They gave you an invitation to the royal ball that would be held in the palace that night and a ball gown for you to wear to the event.
Your family were beyond elated when they heard the news. They encouraged you to start preparing yourself and even released you from your duty to collect herbs. But of course, you refused because it's Daehwi's hunting day.
"My daughter will get married soon," your mother kept saying to your neighbors, successfully embarrassing you in front of the whole villagers. They kept congratulating you as if getting invited to the royal ball was the same as getting married. You only dismissed their words politely and fled to woods.
Your smile reached your eyes when you spotted Daehwi sitting on the patch of grass at the entrance of the forest, absentmindedly playing with a flower in his hands, his horse tied to a tree. Usually, you were the one waiting for him, so seeing him waiting for you for the first time gave your heart that warm and fuzzy feeling.
"I'm sorry I'm late," you said after you greeted him and he got to his feet. "Have you been waiting long?"
Daehwi flashed you a beautiful smile, melting you on the spot. "Not at all. I just arrived."
You returned his smile and shook your head at the thought of the reason of you being late. "My mom was making a fuss about me getting invited to the royal ball. I don't understand why I'm invited, though. I don't know anyone from the capital besides you. Will you be there too?" You silently hoped he would.
Looking flustered, Daehwi stuttered, "What? Royal- Oh. Royal ball. Yes. Uh. I'm... I'm invited too."
You narrowing your eyes suspiciously at him. Daehwi was always flustered everytime you brought the subject of the royals. Did he do something illegal? Or was he a criminal? You decided to ask. "Daehwi, do you have something against the royals? Why are you always flustered?"
He laughed awkwardly. "No, of course not. Let's meet again in the palace." With that, he quickly changed the topic into something else, which had nothing to do with the royals.
***
No matter how many times you said to your mother that you didn't need too much makeup, she didn't listen. Ignoring your protests, she continued doing your makeup, making you look as pretty as possible. She only said, "You have to look presentable in front of the king." whenever you tried to stop her from adding more makeup to your face and you lost the argument in an instant.
After you're done, you were escorted to the palace, riding the carriage the king had sent you. You kept regretting why you decided to attend the royal ball when you knew no one in the capital and you're just a village girl. You could just fake illness or something. But thinking that Daehwi would be there to accompany you managed to bring smile to your face again.
As you expected, you didn't recognize anyone in the palace. Everyone was unfamiliar to you, but they were familiar to each other, so you felt out of place. You tried searching for Daehwi in the middle of the crowd, but you couldn't spot him anywhere. You almost gave up and went back home, thinking that he's not coming, when suddenly you heard one of the palace guards announced loudly, "The crown prince has arrived."
You saw everyone around you bowed deeply, so you quickly copied them. You almost gasped out loud in surprise when you looked up to see Daehwi walking down the stairs, wearing very luxurious outfit and a crown on top of his head. He wasn't a criminal nor a law breaker. He's not just a nobleman or a son of the prime minister. But he's the one and only crown prince of your country. You certainly hadn't seen this coming. You'd never expected that your friend was the crown prince.
Somehow, Daehwi managed to find you between the crowd and he smiled as he met your gaze. You still hadn't recovered from the shock, so you were glued to the spot. He walked over to you, the crowd making way for him and bowing as he passed.
"Hey, Y/N," Daehwi said when he stood in front of you, chuckling. "You look like a fish with your mouth opened like that."
You snapped out of your daze and said slowly in disbelief, "You're the crown prince? Why did you never tell me?"
At that moment, the music was played and Daehwi took your hand in his, asking you to dance with him. The other people took that as a cue to start to dance, staying away in a distance from you and the prince so you two were the spotlight.
Daehwi answered, whispering to your ear. "Sorry, it's a habit."
"What? A habit?" you said incredulously. "I mean, what if I said something improper to you?" And then your started panicking. "Wait, have I ever been impolite to you?"
Laughing, Daehwi said, "Not that I remember. Relax, I'm not that cruel. I'd appreciate it if you just treat me like usual."
Taking a breath, you calmed yourself down. Daehwi was Daehwi. Even if he's a prince, he's still the Daehwi you met in the forest. Nothing was different. After you're composed, you began a conversation, just like how you did back in the forest. "So, how is life as a prince?"
Daehwi frowned, pondering his answer. "Lessons, lessons, and more lessons."
You winced. "Sounds like a pain."
"Then would you like to give me a hand?" Daehwi asked, smiling at you, and somehow looked kind of shy.
You laughed. "I just said that it sounds like a pain."
Daehwi put on a mock hurt expression. "Wow. I'm hurt. You dare to reject the prince's proposal?"
Totally taken by surprise, you could only said, "Wait, what?"
He laughed. "I was joking."
You shook your head fervently. "No, you said something about proposal."
Daehwi's face turned red in an instant. "I was just wondering... if you want to help me running the country."
Heat rose to your cheek too. "I'm only a farmer girl. I'm not cut out to be a queen." You saw his face fall and quickly said, "But I'm willing to try!"
The next second, Daehwi grinned widely, his eyes sparkling with delight. He seemed really happy and of course, you were happy too. How could you not when the crown prince of your country had just confessed to you? "Should I start calling you Your Highness?"
"What? No!"
Teasing you, Daehwi bowed. "Pleased to meet you, Your Highness."
"Seriously, stop it, Daehwi."
a/n: omg the ending was really rushed, I’m sorry, but I hope you enjoyed it!
