So I went to see #strangeworld the other day and I gotta say I really enjoyed it, loved the plot, the characters, the relationship between different characters and what I especially loved was the fact they had their first queer MAIN character and he was a POC too, the way they portrayed Ethan's sexuality was perfectly done, like it wasnt rubbing it in peoples faces or making it his whole personality, it was just a part of him, he just fancied a boy he was friends with and there was many a cute moment between them; and I have to add a point I thought was amazing, the first time Ethan and his grandfather, Jaegar Clade, properly talked, Ethan mentioned a boys name on who he liked and his granddad didn't bat an eye, he just accepted him for who he was (even tried to help him get the boy) along with the rest of Ethan's family, that's how the world should be, like is that so hard? They were just such a supportive unit, the Clade family. They have a catchy theme song too! 🏳️‍🌈 The thing that did annoy me about this film was the fact there was little to no advertising for it which even though disney made this, it makes them look like they wanted it to flop but I just want to see more movies like this!! 🏳️‍🌈 🏳️‍🌈 🏳️‍🌈 #disney #disneystrangeworld #disneysstrangeworld #strangeworld #jaegerclade #ethanclade #searcherclade #disneymovie #disneyanimation #disnerd #disneylove #disneylover #disnerdforlife #lgbt #lgbtq #lgbtrepresentation #lgbtqrepresentation #queer #queerrepresentation #gay #cineworld #cineworlddublin (at Cineworld Dublin) https://www.instagram.com/p/CleojNkDtKK/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

In the bustling city, amidst the blaring sirens and echoing footsteps of first responders, two firefighters stood side by side—partners in both duty and love. Mark and Alex, openly gay firefighters, defied stereotypes and exemplified the inclusivity and diversity within the firefighting community.
Their journey began when they met at the fire academy, united by a shared passion for serving their community. As they navigated the demanding training, the camaraderie between them blossomed into a deep connection that extended beyond the firehouse. In a profession traditionally associated with masculinity, Mark and Alex became trailblazers, demonstrating that strength, courage, and dedication know no gender or sexual orientation.
Facing the challenges of being openly gay in a historically conservative profession, Mark and Alex encountered both support and skepticism. However, their resilience and professionalism gradually won over their colleagues, fostering an environment of acceptance and understanding within the firehouse.
Beyond the fire station, Mark and Alex actively engaged with the LGBTQ+ community, becoming role models for aspiring firefighters who sought to break barriers. They participated in pride events, spoke at community forums, and used their platform to advocate for inclusivity and diversity within the firefighting profession.
As they responded to emergencies together, Mark and Alex's bond grew stronger. Their unwavering commitment to each other mirrored their dedication to the communities they served. They became symbols of love and resilience, challenging preconceived notions about who can be a firefighter and proving that a diverse and inclusive firefighting force benefits everyone.
Mark and Alex's story not only highlighted the importance of representation in traditionally male-dominated fields but also underscored the transformative power of love and acceptance. In the face of adversity, their partnership stood as a beacon of hope, inspiring a new generation of firefighters to embrace their true selves and contribute to a more inclusive and compassionate firefighting community.

👩🏻‍🍳🧑🏻‍❤️‍🧑🏼🥐🎂🧁🍺🎬❤️‍🔥👀 CW: TRANSPHOBIA, HOMOPHOBIA, MISGENDERING, BIPHOBIA Chef’s Kiss by TJ Alexander Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If you’re looking for a good cooking romance that’s also LGBTQ+, this one is for you! I gotta love a romance in the age of cooking and videos. The concept reminded me of bonappetit videos. At first Simone rubbed me the wrong way with how judgmental she was but Ray brought out the food in her. Simone was an onion and ray was peeling her layers away like in Shrek 😆 It’s a quick read and I recommend to have some sort of cooking show in the background for the mood. I was watching Hell’a Kitchen since I’m chaotic but @emmymade @britishbakeoff, any @guyfieri show are chill and lovely to watch. #bookreview #bookstagram #foodieromance #romcombooks #new2022releases #lgbtqromance #lgbtqromancebooks #lgbtqrepresentation #nonbinaryrepresentation #bisexualrepresentation #grumpysunshinetrope https://www.instagram.com/p/ClxQ4NpLrBk/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

I have been hankering to do a League of Their Own post for *months* so am thrilled to bring them to you, and oh my, it was *so* hard to decide what to pick. But! Couldn’t we all use a little Carson’s pep talk telling us all that we can do it, today and any day? And wouldn’t a visit to Beads of Paradise NYC be a *perfect* bonding and team building activity for the Peaches, outside of y’know, practicing. It could still be a brilliant activity for you and your pals, and no need to hide who you are or who you love here, either. All are welcome, always. #aleagueoftheirown #aleagueoftheirownedit #aleagueoftheirownseries #rockfordpeaches #carsonshaw #carsonshawedit #abbijacobson #abbijacobsonedit #gretagill #darcycarden #robertacolindrez #allamericangirlsprofessionalbaseballleague #halloweeninspo #lgbtqrepresentation #lgbtq #loveislove #teambuilding #bonding #customjewelry #diyjewelry #happyplace #makeityourown #fashion #style #shop #nyc #unionsquare #beadsofparadise

Some highlights from Day 1 of @awesomecons yesterday! Cosplayed Louise for the first time (such a comfortable and easy cosplay!) and got a great response. Participated in a panel on LGBTQ+ representation with other wonderful people that went great. Unexpectedly cried multiple times during Adam Savage's beautiful panel. And ended the day by running into these WandaVision cosplayers and this incredible giant pink dog(?) whose name I can't remember. #awesomecon #awesomecon2021 #bobsburgers #louisebelchercosplay #cosplay #lgbtqrepresentation (at Awesome Con) https://www.instagram.com/p/CS1wzB7rjbp/?utm_medium=tumblr

The 33rd Annual GLAAD Media Awards, held on Thursday night at The Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles, witnessed a powerful moment beyond the usual glitz and glamor of the red carpet. Rising star Renée Rapp, amidst accepting her award for Outstanding Music Artist, used her platform to urge for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in the ongoing conflict in Gaza. A Speech of Gratitude and Advocacy Rapp, known for her breakout role in the HBO series "Tina" and chart-topping singles like "Tainted Love," delivered an acceptance speech that transcended self-celebration. Acknowledging the esteemed audience, she stated, "We're in a room of very influential people, very privileged people, which is exciting and also a huge privilege to be a part of that." However, Rapp didn't shy away from using her privilege to address a pressing global issue. She continued, "Having said that, I'd like to take the opportunity to show support and call for an immediate ceasefire and permanent ceasefire in Gaza." This heartfelt plea for peace resonated with the audience and met with a wave of applause. Rapp concluded her speech with a broader call to action, urging the audience, "to continue to advocate for yourselves, continue to advocate for your friends, your queer friends, and for those who can't advocate for themselves." Understanding the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict The Israeli-Palestinian conflict is a complex and long-standing issue with roots dating back to the early 20th century. It encompasses territorial disputes, historical grievances, and ongoing violence. Gaza, a densely populated Palestinian territory bordering Israel and Egypt, has been a focal point of the conflict in recent years. The Impact of Rapp's Actions Rapp's decision to leverage her platform at the GLAAD Media Awards serves several purposes: Raising Awareness: By bringing the issue of the Gaza conflict to the forefront of an awards ceremony watched by millions, Rapp raises awareness of the ongoing humanitarian crisis. Sparking Dialogue: Her call to action encourages viewers to educate themselves on the complexities of the conflict and potentially engage in constructive dialogue to promote peace. Inspiring Advocacy: Rapp's use of her platform inspires others, particularly young people, to advocate for causes they believe in, regardless of the setting. While the long-term impact of Rapp's actions remains to be seen, her courage in using her platform to advocate for peace sends a powerful message. Criticism and Considerations It's important to acknowledge that any public statement on a complex issue like the Israeli-Palestinian conflict might attract criticism. Here are some potential considerations: The nuance of the Conflict: The Israeli-Palestinian conflict is multifaceted, and a simple call for a ceasefire might not resonate with everyone. Lack of Specific Solutions: While advocating for peace is commendable, some might argue that Rapp's statement lacked concrete solutions to address the root causes of the conflict. Focus on Entertainment Awards: A segment of the audience might believe that awards ceremonies are meant for entertainment, and political statements are unwelcome. Despite these potential criticisms, Rapp's decision to highlight the plight of those affected by the conflict demonstrates the evolving role of celebrities in using their platforms for social commentary. Renée Rapp's Call to Action: A Spark for Change? The ongoing conflict in Gaza has caused immense human suffering. Rapp's use of the GLAAD Media Awards platform to advocate for peace serves as a reminder of the power of individual voices, sparking dialogue and potentially inspiring action toward a more peaceful resolution. FAQs Q: What is the current situation in Gaza? A: The Israeli-Palestinian conflict continues, with ongoing violence and humanitarian concerns in Gaza. Q: What can I do to learn more about the conflict? A: Numerous reputable news sources and independent organizations provide in-depth information on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Q: How can I advocate for peace in the region? A: There are various ways to advocate for peace, including contacting your elected officials, supporting humanitarian organizations working in the region, and engaging in respectful dialogue about the complexities of the conflict.

(TW:?) This beautiful comic book "Princess Princess Ever After" by Katie O'Neill inspired me so much. Here in Ukraine, you wouldn't find an lgbtq+ piece of literature anywhere, so when I saw it in the mall I was so surprised and so happy. They stopped selling it shortly after. The book is beautifully drawn, with an amazing story and characters and a great moral. I absolutely loved it. I drew this a while ago but wanted to post it when I color it. The latter photos are what happened to it today. My abusive homophobic transphobic sister tore it apart and threw it in the trash. I'm not really sure why I'm telling this but I guess people should know that these things are still happening to lgbtq+ folk on a daily basis. And they can't really get out until they do, and all they have is a support from the loved ones, and the slow process of world learning to accept. This kind of representation helps so much, and I hope to see more of it, and maybe to find this book again. #princessprincesseverafter #katieoneill #lgbtqrepresentation #gayliterature #lgbtqliterature #supportlgbtqliterature https://www.instagram.com/p/CHvlLa4g26X/?igshid=8wjx0vvkuhrz

I know you must be thinking “Meghan it’s been a minute since you did a #bookreview, what gives?” Well I managed to delete the majority of the book pics I took so here we are. In lieu of an actual picture here’s a screenshot grid of one of my favorite series to come along in a while. The Shadow series by Lila Bowen aka Delilah S. Dawson is a hell of a supernatural western. It is sometimes recommended for fans of Buffy (which as a Buffy fan I agree with) but mostly it’s just good. Meaningfully diverse with a lot of heart and humor and monsters and truly I can’t recommend this enough. Also the main character Rhett is my awkward bisexual son and I love him!!! Anyway the series is complete so you’re lucky enough to be able to read it from start to finish and it is truly a joy. #westerns #scififantasy #lgbtqrepresentation #weneeddiversebooks #diversebooks https://www.instagram.com/p/Bx-XQj_HJlM/?igshid=1wfkrtkpv3uoe

🏳️‍🌈💏👑💓🎥📺🎬🛫🛌 The charm offensive by Alison Cochrun Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ As someone who loves romcom books I had to read especially when it’s about a dating reality show! I grew up watching Flavor of Love (New York (@tiffany_hbic_pollard taught me well!) and even Rock of Love (cringe) so you can say I like them. Definitely loved the aspect of was the awareness of mental illness. Both have a mental illness; Dev suffers from Depression and Charlie suffers from OCD. It’s something that both struggle to talk about and want to hide from those who they care about. The discussion and representation of mental health is one that I think the author did good on. Dev and Charlie definitely have my heart! Dev and I are both ones who believe in love but are guarded and tend to push them away 🥲 #bookreview #bookstagram #thecharmoffensive #allisonchon #bookrecommendations #mentalhealthrepresentation #mentalhealth #lgbtqreads #lgbtqrepresentation #realityloveshow #flavoroflove #rockoflove #novemberbookstack #supportpubliclibraries https://www.instagram.com/p/Ck9ydw7N_Dp/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

I’ve been stalking the kitchen at work all morning trying to find out who owns this mug! It’s nice to know that I’m not alone here at HQ (as part of the lgbtqia alphabet) and to let them know that they’re not alone and that while I’m not transgendered, I am an ally.
