Protective P x reader headcanons

• If you met P for the first time outside Hotel Krat, unarmed, he'd literally just grab you and haul ass back to safety. His goal here was just to protect an endangered citizen, but this is when you started to fall for him a little. As time passes he grows fond of you too.

• P instinctively wants to shield you. Compared to his own tall, reinforced steel body, your soft mortal body is basically like a daffodil. If the situation ever came to it, he would take any and all blows for you to keep you unharmed.

(And btw I don't know how tall he is but I've seen people estimate he's above 6'0", which is amazing and I support it.)

• even if you've gained proficiency with a weapon, P does noooot like the idea of you accompanying him outside the hotel. If you insist, he stays close by your side. He occasionally extends his legion arm, stopping you in your tracks, to safeguard you from any potential dangers. He probably equips Aegis just for this.

• if you're ever injured, P begins to lose his typically calm composure. He'd dash to your side to get you to safety as soon as possible, and you hear him utter your name with distress as he scoops you up. As he carries you back, you can hear that the rhythmic ticking of his mechanical heart is clearly faster than usual.

• the whole time you're recovering, P sits by your side. He shoots you one of his disapproving looks if you try to exert yourself before you've fully recovered. At least you know you're in good hands with your sweet puppet looking after you.

Kissing P headcanons [P x reader]

Don't expect him to take the initiative. Pinocchio is completely clueless about basic human gestures of affection, and that includes kissing.

The first time you try to kiss him, he'll probably just stand there, eyes wide open and awkwardly staring into yours as you get closer and closer to his face. He's just trying to figure out what you're trying to do.

He might even misunderstand and gently press his forehead against yours. Despite your embarrassment in the moment, Pinocchio will continue to gaze at your face, amazed by the languor in your eyes, the flush on your cheeks, and the reassuring warmth of your breath on his lips.

When he sees a smile forming on your lips, he'll relax considerably, and you might even notice a spark of tenderness in his eyes. But your first kiss will be nothing more than your lips pressed together.

Pinocchio is very receptive to your reactions, so he'll immediately notice the sudden increase in your pulse and the flush on your face. At that point, he'll start asking you disarmingly candid questions like "Your heart is beating fast... is it me?" totally unaware that he's only making things worse.

You might think you haven't had any effect on him, but in his chest, his mechanisms are ticking much faster than usual.

His lips, as well as the rest of his body, are extremely cold, so it's a sensation you might have trouble getting used to. However, his skin is quite soft, just like yours.

His scent is a curious blend of a faint metallic smell of mineral oils and a earthy aroma of musk. Curiously, it's not unpleasant, but it's still something very special that sets him apart and that you'll end up loving dearly.

Over time, as he gains humanity, Pinocchio will seek more and more moments of intimacy with you, both to enjoy the obvious effect his presence has on your body, and because it allows him to discover things about himself that he didn't believe were possible.

Each time your lips meet, his body will react more and more openly to your touch. The warmth of your breath, the unmistakable feeling in your eyes, and your fingers clutching his chest will make his mechanical heart beat painfully fast.

Gradually, he will start to close his eyes to give himself completely to you. His arms will return your embrace, and his kisses will begin to be more conscious and deep.

He may even forget that you need to breathe, starting to kiss you in rapid succession, whispering "More." on your lips between one kiss and the next, leaving you completely breathless.

The warmth of your skin is extremely familiar and comforting to him, so he will melt with every kiss, not only on the lips, but also on the nose and the freckles that dot his face.

Lawful Dumbass P Headcanons

Pinocchio was initially very intrigued when you explained him where you can find and a human's heartbeat. He would sometimes hold fingers to your wrist and just below your jaw out of the blue as if needing to double-check your status as living, just in case.

On one occasion he presses his head to your chest and listens to the dull thump of your heart in a sort of trance. However, he jumps back in surprise upon hearing your stomach rumble. He looks at you with wide eyes in utter shock. You assure him about a million times that this is normal and unlike him, humans get hungry all the time. He is not entirely convinced and seemed to think there was a creature hiding in your torso for days.

While you're writing one day, he notices you absentmindedly biting the end of a pen, deep in thought. He starts doing this when he's pacing around Krat, although he really just grabs whatever happens to be nearby that could vaguely fit in his mouth. You've seen him try this with one of Eugenie's screwdrivers. She did not want it back.

You told Pinocchio a secret once and made him pinky swear not to tell anyone. He cocks his head to the side, confused. You take this opportunity to explain to him that a pinky promise is a time-honored human tradition of the utmost severity, a symbol of trust never to be broken. "In fact, if you are ever to go back on your word," You speak in a low grave tone, extending your pinky finger to him, "you'll be cursed. Forever." He takes this very seriously, locking his finger solemnly with yours before laying his hand over his heart with a stern expression, now forever oath-bound to you. It's damn near impossible for you to hold back laughter. As far as you know, he still believes you to this day.

There was a time that he came to you seemingly insecure, feeling wholly overwhelmed with an existential line of questioning about his burgeoning humanity. Was he really still only a puppet? Could he ever truly be considered human? Was he some unknown third possibility, alone in his otherness? You try in earnest to comfort him, assuring him that his exterior is irrelevant in the end. Though he may not be made of flesh and blood, it's what lies beneath the surface, deep inside, that matters. He seems to really consider this, and immediately retrieves his literal mechanical heart from his chest, holding it out to you quizzically. You gently push it back into his hands and shake your head. "Oh. No. Not like that." You stammer in complete awe.

one of the biggest things for p is quality time

i've seen some people on here have the reader read stories to pino and oh my gosh i absolutely love the idea

not only would he listen to you read stories to him, but he would also just be a great listener in general

whether you're telling him about your day or ranting about a pet peeve

he will always listen to you intently because well!!! he loves you and you could never annoy him

not that pino gets annoyed often... unless it's at gemini...

another thing i can see that pretty boy doing is kiss his partner periodically without warning

and he will do it EVERYWHERE

How P deals with you going away.

Unintentional pause in writing because life got busy. But been wanting to write this bit for some time, so here it is!

He wants to know where you’re going. It’s mainly out of curiosity. His world is only Krat, so the idea of you going somewhere far away where he can’t reach is new for him. Once he understands the geographic distance, his immediate question is whether he can come. He doesn’t really understand why he can’t come. He can protect you from danger and help you out. He also knows how to stay out of your way if need be. Heartless reader, how can you leave him alone. But, when he understands that this is something he cannot be apart of, and that he has to wait, he falls into silence.

He doesn’t like the idea but knows that it’s a part of life. People come and go. He only hopes that your going will result in a return back to him. Of course, he’s worried sick about your well being, even taking it upon himself to teach you some basic sword moves. He also silently hands you his gun. He doesn’t want you to ever have to use it, but it comforts him knowing that a part of him would be with you. He’s half tempted to just hand over his legion arm to you, he even asked Eugenie, but unfortunately, his arm in your hands would be of no use.

He definitely mopes. Will help you place your stuff into a bag, but when your not looking, will take out an item, so that you’re perpetually packing. You catch on and he can only give a bashful smile at your frown. Will take your shoes for a good shinning before your journey. No, he had no intention of hiding them, what are you talking about.  At night, he will idle about. Not really reading or sleeping, just staring at nothing. He’s not really sure what he’s supposed to do for the time you’re away. It dawns on him how small his world is. He shares his thought with Gemini.

On the day of your leaving, he’s extra clingy. Helps you to get ready, ever really letting you be too far away from him. You’ll be distances apart in a few moments, and since it’s the first time you’re leaving, he’s perturbed at the sudden change. Just before you get into your carriage, he hands you Gemini, well more like shoves it into the carriage before the door shuts. “For Luck” is all you hear before the carriage takes off.

Pinocchio watches the carriage disappear into a dot. He’s the last to return back to the hotel mainly because his eyes can follow your carriage further out than human eyes. But it’s also a quiet moment for him to sober up to the reality that he now has to face the days with you or Gemini in it. He supposes he could always get another Gemini, but he likes the intimacy of you two sharing Gemini. But to face the day without your quirks or Gemini’s chirps, is hard. Pinocchio realizes he doesn’t like being alone.

It's tough and new for him, but he pushes himself to hang out more with the people around them. He shadows them around, quietly helping. Everyone notices that he’s stopped speaking as much. Finally, Sophia hands him a paper and ink, and helps him compose a letter. Pinocchio’s world opens up. You mean he can send you’re a letter and get a reply within the same day??

His letters are terrible initially. Very much a child learning to write, because he is learning to write. He knows the words, but his hands are not familiar with the art of writing. Sophia has to help him a lot here. His first sentences go something like this, “This Pinocchio. Alive? Come home?”. Very factual words, and he impatiently waits for your letters. Despite sending a letter with brief words, he expects you to give him a full story. Will read and reread your letters. Pretty much has them memorized. If you tell him to do things to stave off boredom and loneliness, he will do it and report to you. Over time, his letters and thoughts will improve, but you will always remember and keep those initial letters because of how sweet and honest to Pinocchio they are.

Will start to smile more when he finally hears of your impending arrival. Everyone knows your coming home before the official notice is sent out because of Pinocchio. The human puppet seems to walk with a spring in his step. There is a liveliness about him and he seems more eager and ready to help around the others. The mopey side is gone. On the day of your arrival, he keeps staring at the clock, wishing for it to go faster. Will be the first out there. God forbid your carriage being delayed because Pinocchio will stand there in any weather for hours until he sees you. Today means today for him. But when he finally spots your wagon, everyone comes running out because they all heard Pinocchio’s exclamations of excitement for the first time. You stick your head out of the window and wave at the speck in the distance that you know to be your Pinocchio, and the man is off towards you. Impatience finally got the best of him and he starts walking towards the carriage. The driver manages to slow down, before crashing into Pinocchio. He throws the human puppet a glare, but Pinocchio could care less as he opens the door and all but flops onto you.

You laugh and chastise him for almost causing an accident, but soon find yourself hugging the puppet. He pulls you out of the carriage and, finally, into his arms and carries you back home. Yes, you’ll have to return for your luggage, but you’re home. You’re home, you’re home, you’re home, you’re home. Yes, over time Pinocchio’s anxiety over your leaving lessons, but that never stops him from sending letters if he can’t accompany you, and meeting you half way home.

Pinocchio spends the late night apologizing to Gemini for not giving him the same return greeting.

🦋 Sooo, I’ve had these three scenarios rotating in my mind as of late:

1. Reader accidentally falls asleep on P’s metal hand. They are too tired and decide to lean on him as a joke, but end up falling asleep for real once they close their eyes. Pino, of course, doesn’t move and tries not to wake them up. When they wake up from their short nap, their face is covered with imprints from the legion arm. A lot of giggling follows.

2. Reader wears an armor ring or a set of armor rings on their left hand to match with their dear P. As a result they both develop an interesting gesture of friendship: the handshake of the metal hands.

3. Reader forgets that Flamberge is a literal flamethrower and grabs Pino‘s hand in excitement after he‘s used the arm. It‘s still very hot and reader burns their hand but juuuust a little bit. It‘s still enough to set P into panic. Poor guy feels guilty for a long time and reader has to often assure him that it‘s not something serious. (Totally not inspired by me burning my hand while boiling water for coffee last night…)

Breaking up with P - Headcanons

- The conversation wouldn't involve voice rising, anger attitude, or anything like that. Even when breaking up with you, he would be polite and respectful as always

- No more gentle touches, sweet looks, simple gifts, of course, just like any other break up, but the most hurtful thing will be he avoiding you, passing through, and doesn't stopping to kiss or hug you

- What a torture watch him talk normally to everyone at the hotel, but when it comes to you, only expect greeting or important information

- He's not evil, he wouldn't ever like to see you suffer, said that, he will be as much as he can outside, doing tasks, cleaning streets or just wandering around to stay away from the hotel

- No gossip or talking bad. Pino will stay silent for any question about your relationship, he thinks it's disrespectful with both of you exposing what happened or the break up reason. Also, don't expect he will say a single bad word about you to anyone else, and will not tolerate someone talking bad about you to him too.

- Extra: I can see this poor boy feeling his heart breaking in pieces, so much pain he thinks that can't handle it, although he will not show that to you, everyone at the hotel knows how much he's missing you but denies to let you know.

Pinocchio/P || Dating head canons

His two of his love languages are acts of service and gift giving, he's not good at words, but his actions speak louder than words.

Although he's not the best, he can can tie your shoes if you have lots of stuff in your hands, cooking breakfast in the morning and placing your breakfast on your lap while he feeds you.

— "You made this, for me?" You say, shocked as he sets the plate which is a full Italian breakfast, it consists of two fried eggs, slow-cooked beef ragu arancienetti, creamy Parmesan Mushrooms, ham & cheese potato crocchetta, barolo Italian Sausage, Parma Ham, and Focaccia. A lot of food on your plate when it's early in the morning.

"I didn't see you eat last lunch and dinner. You were busy at work so I decided to cook you a fulfilling breakfast." P shrugged,

When you express or speak about your hobbies, likes, dislikes, and what do you do in your free time. He'll give you a gift based of what you like, and what you do in your free time, for example, he'll give you new art supplies if you ever run out of it.

"Damn, I'm running out of red pai-" While you were almost about to finish your sentence, you heard something placed on the table with other art supplies, oh, it's your boyfriend.

"I was in the store and bought you red paint, I noticed you were running out of red paint specifically." Your boyfriend spoke up besides you. It's like he read your mind or something...

"You read my mind..." You say, too shocked about this. P only let out a fake smile to you.

Despite being a perfect boyfriend to you, he has just one flaw, being a liar. Doesn't matter if he's in a relationship or not. He's not entirely an asshole as well, he'll would NEVER cheat (trust) on you.

He'll do small tiny lies like how he totally washed the dishes (which he didn't because he forgotten it) or get groceries (which he ALSO 'forgotten' again). He lies because he has one goal, to become human. Lying makes him feel guilty in a good and bad way because he's finally feeling like he's a human but secondly, he feels bad for it because you know you trusted him.

Whenever he's guilty because how frequently he lies for his selfish goal, he'll try his best to say truthful but that'll only make him less human than before. He has hopes you don't suspect him as a puppet.

— "What's that?" You pointed out his left arm which looks like a robotic arm thing, perhaps he's a robotic puppet?

"Prosthetic arm, I got my left arm amputated... I can't remember why." Your boyfriend, P, answers. But that's was a lie and you fell for it. Once you stare at it for a few seconds, you could see it looks like a prosthetic arm to you.

"Right, okay." You decide to drop this topic, thinking it might be a sensitive topic for him.

He doesn't really use pet names that much because what's the point? He can always call you your name, your name seems fine but okay.

He'll call you pet names for the sake of trying to seem human. He started to call you pet names when you guys go out for dinner. He observed some couples calling their significant others, "darling", "babe", and etc. He decided to use it.

But anyway, I think he'll call you:

Post-game P headcanons [P x reader]

P will still be rather taciturn, but you can expect a fair amount of smiles. Especially now that he has realized that they are a rather powerful vehicle for his emotions and has experienced the effect they have on others.

In particular, the effect they have on you, who blush like crazy every time those perfect lips open in a sweet and vague smile.

Despite being much closer to a human being than he has ever been, he still struggles to fully understand the reactions and relationships between people. So his displays of affection may still be quite sporadic and sometimes quite clumsy or out of context.

Although his expressiveness has improved significantly in terms of language, Pinocchio will continue to be very physical, especially towards you, when he wants to communicate something. However, there is no need to fear, many of his emotions will be very clear in his big blue eyes.

He still doesn't have any real filters on what is appropriate to say and when depending on a given context. So he might also communicate something quite intimate and deep out of the blue, catching you off guard. Or he might exaggerate a reaction, like laughter, in a bizarre way.

You will have to guide him. In everything that is purely mundane and trivial, P will definitely need guidance to navigate the subtle nuances of life and everyday relationships. Expect to answer A LOT of questions.

Despite everything, you will have his complete devotion. To such an extent that, whenever you are around, he will follow you everywhere just to enjoy your company, to observe you and to protect you from any possible danger.

as someone who is either freezing or sweating without any in between ever, I suddenly started wondering what it would be like for P to deal with getting chilly or overheated as he gets more physically human. Behold:

Temperature Sensitive P Headcanons

Cold P bundles up blankets, going full burrito mode. He curls up next to you for warmth, but it inevitably slowly evolves into him clutching you like a koala every single time. Probably always holding a cup of tea (or gemini, assuming he emits warmth as well as light) to keep his hands warm, holding his face over the steam and inhaling the pleasant smell. If it's snowing he won't step foot outside without a scarf to keep his nose warm.

Hot P panics the first time he sweats and begins yanking his clothes off haphazardly, probably getting his legion arm stuck at some point (not unlike scenes in action movies where someone wakes up in a hospital and just starts pulling IV's and bandages off of their body with absolutely no concern for their own physical wellbeing). He's puzzled by you averting your gaze until you explain that unfortunately it's not super socially acceptable to strip down any time it gets toasty. He's mildly distressed with this information but reluctantly gets dressed again. However, he eventually insists on "sun's out guns out" rules in the privacy and safety of the hotel.
