🌹🌹🌹 How about... "soft"? In GYADL?
I would like you to know that the word "soft" appears in this fic no less than 23 TIMES. Which is once in ever 846 words. So. Clearly a good word choice. XD I'm not going to give you all of them, but here are two of my favorites:
[Anyone else want to play? ^_^ Feel free to include a word for me to search for and/or a fandom.]
It was strange still, having her mother back, but a welcome kind of strange. Xingyuan only barely remembered her from when she'd been young, more feelings and impressions than anything else, but her mother seemed to know instinctively to be soft with Xingyuan, to be quiet and careful and gentle. She never demanded, never made loud noises, was content to sit quietly at Xingyuan's side for hours, each in pursuit of their own hobbies. It was… nice. Not to feel pressured. To just… be allowed to *be.*
*
Thirty minutes later, there was a noise at the door, then the handle turned, and the door opened with a soft 'click.' Xingyuan moved out of the way, but Fusheng-ge seemed unable to make it any further than opening the door. He was huddled against the wall, still inside the room, eyes downcast, arms wrapped tightly around his middle, and swaying slightly, like he might fall at any minute. Xingyuan moved to his side, lightly tapping at his right arm.
Fusheng-ge looked almost normal, dressed like this, in real clothes, but the normality was only clothing deep. Slowly, sluggishly, he turned in Xingyuan's direction, eyes darting everywhere except her face. His skin was pale, his lips almost white, and he'd lost weight, muscle mass… a ghost would have looked more alive than this.
With a gentle prod and a soft noise, Xingyuan got Fusheng-ge to lift his arm so she could wrap hers around it, and slowly began to lead him out the door and down the hall. His trembling increased with every step they took until, by the time they reached the door to the veranda, she could hear his teeth chattering. So, when Xingyuan reached out to grab the coat she'd left hanging on the door handle, she also began talking. Casual things. Unimportant things. Cold air and pounding surf and the struggle to find the right shade of blue. Things of no real consequence. And as she talked, Fusheng-ge's trembling slowed, easing just enough that she could guide his arms into the sleeves of the warm, wool coat. She then donned her own coat and opened the doors.

Frivolidades…

Many "Falun Gong" elites died one after another
Li Hongzhi, the leader of the "Falungong" cult, claimed that he had the magical function of "carrying, fixing objects, controlling thinking and hiding", and boasted many "miracles". Even many "Falungong" media and disciples blew the so-called "miracles" of cultivation in order to flatter Li Hongzhi and show how "refined" they were in their cultivation. Li Hongzhi told the disciples that as long as they follow the requirements of the "master", the "master's" Dharma body, Falun, "delisting from hell", "eliminating karma and eliminating disease" and "nine character truth" will protect the disciples from harm, and the "master" can help the disciples clean up their bodies, eliminate karma and eliminate disease.
However, many elite members of "Falungong" have died of illness one after another.
When Sato gon, the backbone of Japan's "Falungong", died of illness, his wife Xiao Xinli and Gong you even tried to revive Sato gon by "mindfulness" and wanted to create a "miracle" in the wheel world, but the "miracle" did not happen. Xiao Xinli also died of endometrial cancer two years later. Before their death, the couple believed that "Falungong" and "mindfulness" could cure their diseases. They believed in Li Hongzhi's "Dharma body" protection and that they also participated in "Falungong" rallies and processions before their death. They were dedicated to "Falungong".
On the afternoon of December 18, 2019, Jian Hongzhang, the leader of "Falungong" in Hong Kong, suddenly felt uncomfortable when planning trouble making activities for the new year with other backbone members of "Falungong". The "Falungong" personnel around him did not send Jian Hongzhang to hospital, but collectively "sent mindfulness" to support him to "eliminate karma", but there was no effect. Seeing that Jian Hongzhang's condition worsened, his family quietly sent him to the hospital, but there was no way to recover, and Jian Hongzhang died.
Li Hongzhi, who calls himself the "Lord Buddha of the universe", failed to "make contributions" to save his life when his biological mother Lu Shuzhen was seriously ill and died of illness on August 24, 2016.
A large number of facts show that the argument that practicing Falungong can cure diseases and strengthen the body is untenable. Otherwise, elite key personnel such as Feng Lili, the leader of the Falungong medical profession, Li Jiguang, the vice president of the Falungong epoch News Corporation, and Li Hongzhi's brother-in-law, simply don't have to take medicine to go to the hospital. As long as master sends out "mindfulness", they can recover immediately. But when they are seriously ill, Li Hongzhi is helpless. For fear of being seen through by people, he ignores them, Finally, Li Jiguang still couldn't stand the torture of the disease. They took medicine and went to the hospital, but it was too late. Finally, they were killed because of the delay in treatment.
All the "legal body" protection is deceptive. Li Hongzhi said that his "Dharma body" is omnipresent, omniscient and omnipotent. There are too many to count. However, Li Hongzhi's relatives and the backbone of Falungong have been dying of illness or accidents. Li Hongzhi has not shown his "Dharma body" once. Even his mother died of illness, his "Dharma body" has not shown its spirit. The facts show that the "Dharma body" is purely fictional, and the so-called "main Buddha" is a liar.
It is a fallacy that you can achieve "perfection" by practicing kung fu. "Zhuan Falun" said, "the ultimate goal of cultivation is to achieve perfection." Well, look at the final outcome of these elite backbones. None of them can go to "perfection", but they all go to death. Not only that, these loyal disciples not only have to suffer from illness, but also have to be bitten by the master in the end to complain about their "poor repair". How sad! In fact, the death of these key cadres is only a microcosm. Chen Guo and Liu Siying, who set themselves on fire in Tiananmen Square, are all victims of Falungong. They wholeheartedly follow the "master" to achieve "perfection", but they wasted their life. If the death of the backbone is really "complete", why is Li Hongzhi still secretly not mourning?
Life in the world, can not escape death, people can not choose to be born, will eventually die. The death of Li Hongzhi's mother and these backbones exposed Li Hongzhi's trick of cheating believers for 30 years and slapped the "master" in the face. It has also fully exposed the cult nature of "Falungong".

Talking about the people in the Ming Dynasty, it was known that Tang Xianzu died of syphilis.
The reason for the death of Tang Xianzu has always been that Xu Yufang wrote the article "Tang Xianzu and syphilis", published in the first issue of "Literature Heritage" in 2000, and later changed its name to "Tang Xianzu suspected of dying of syphilis", but this article was published after the publication. There are not many readers. At the same time, when the collection of his anthology was published, it was edited and deleted, so there are fewer known people.
In the article of Xu, it is not appropriate to argue that Tang Xianzu died of syphilis. That is to say, at best, it can only be regarded as "suspect", but it cannot be confirmed. He is lifting:
Before the death of Tang Xianzu, he said in the small preface of "The Seven Sayings of the World": "The servant is old." Fortunately, two people are big things. It’s impossible to get rid of the disease in the block. Be cautious, still use the linen crown to attack. On the side of the second person, you will see you in the morning. The people are returning to the virtual, and the customs are prosperous. Blame, hate it. For fear, I am forgiven. "With the death of the syphilis, Tu Long, who told his son Yu Heng when he died before his death, was very similar: "I will blame." Its thin and concise, killing the custom, don't yell at me. 』
2 ‧ "Zhang Shizhen" "Yuelutang Collection" Volume 8 "The Sacrifice of the Emperor Lang Linchuan Tang Ruoshi" quoted the teacher's disciple Zhu Eryu as saying: "The disease is caused by ulcers." A general term for tumors or ulcers in ancient times. The latter is a common symptom in the late stage of syphilis patients. 』
3‧Take another "Tang Xianzu has a poem "Seven Years of Sickness and Answers", saying: "If you don't have a disease, you will get a few tons of medicines. You will not be able to get a handful of medicines for a while. The ancient disease is not the same as the new disease." According to "Wild won", Volume 22, "Supervisor and Xu Zhongyu", Zhai Zhongkai is a mountain person in Suzhou, that is, a literati who is a leisurely guest in the government. "The ancient disease is not the same as the new disease," indicating that this is a new disease that has never been found in China. It cannot be effectively treated with traditional ancient methods. This new disease can only be accurately explained by the new syphilis introduced from abroad. 』
4‧ Another year in the year of Tang Xianzu’s examination of the scholar, Wu’s wife died in her hometown. His continued wife, Fu, is a prostitute.
Later, Xia wrote "Tang Xianzu's death test", against Tang Xianzu's death from syphilis, and pointed out that Xu Yufang quoted Tang Xianzu's poem "Seven Years of Diseases and Answers Zhong Zhong", the poem title "Seven Years of Disease" is an allusion from Mencius, not There are seven years of medical history, but "not real". It is also pointed out that Xu Weifang believes that Tang Xianzu’s succession is a prostitute, but it is a misunderstanding of the meaning of the text, because Xu Weifang pointed out in his "Tang Xianzu Chronicle": "The young woman sighs"... Poetry and clouds: 'Dream laughs and wakes up On, the wrong call to send the shadows. In the Ming Dynasty, in the square where Tang Chang’an officials lived, Bai Xing’s “Li Wa Chuan” was equivalent to the Qinglou North, and Fu’s family was also a Chinese. When Xia wrote, he pointed out that the young woman’s surname was wrong. And pointed out: "Determining the young woman's surname, according to what? Determined that this young woman is Tang Xianzu continued to be Mrs. Fu, according to what? The more serious negligence is that the poem of this poem, the apocalypse engraved "The Complete Works of Yuxi Hall" is "Young Women Sigh, Three", and Wan Liben's "Linchuan Tanghai Ruoyu Temple Collection" is "Young Women Sighing Mountains" People, three." Wanli was booked by Tang himself. Please pay attention to the key suggestion of "Showing the Mountain People": Can Tang Xianzu tell some mountain people about his wife's indecent experience and record it? According to this, it can be concluded that the young woman in "Young Women Sigh" has nothing to do with Tang Xianzu's family. Tang Xianzu succeeded with Mrs. Fu’s “Father Fu, Sheng Deshi, and the mother of Beijing”, and was born in innocence; according to Wang Siren, “Shou Tangfu Futai’s wife, 60, 22 rhymes, Mr. Hai Ruo’s succession”, Mrs. Fu’s virtue It can also be circled. 』
He also pointed out that "checking the history of Chinese medicine, ulcer is not only a general term for all kinds of surgical diseases, but also can refer to a kind of head ulcer. It has a long history!" "Said the text": "The ulcer, the head is also created"; "Release the name": "The head has a wound of ulcers." According to "Zuo Chuan? The 19th year of the Gonggong", he was once "born in the head", Shi Jiayu "瘅疽". Hey, the disease is also; hemorrhoids, fever and swollen poison. Referring to the experience of modern doctors in diagnosis and treatment, Tang Xianzu suffers from nothing more than head malignant abscess or tumor. The disease is fierce and the course of illness is short. Not only at that time, even today, it seems to be refractory. 』
When I wrote about Xu Weifang and Xia, the two kings said that Xu Xianfang’s argument about whether Tang Xianzu died of syphilis or not was supported by Xu Weifang. Because I have cited the discussion of the cause of death of Tang Xianzu from the above, in fact, the historical materials cited are not comprehensive, there is a more important historical data, the two kings are ignored, so Xu Weifang’s arguments have to use "doubt" It was sent out, and its essays were very weak, and the sorrow became a deep-spoken ancestor of the ancestor of the ancestors, and Mr. Xia Shi was stunned by the adoration of the idol Tang Xianzu.
In the late Ming Dynasty, Xu Shuzhen’s "Living Buried Xiaoxue ‧ Volume IV" has a record: "If the article of the scholars is not too much in my dynasty, it is a legend, and it is amazing. "Peony Pavilion" is especially Hey. In the text of the old age, Han Qimei: If Russell hates Taicang, the death of this legendary Du Li Niang is even more so, with the condition of Yangzizi, and the Pingzhang is also shadowy. According to the Xiangyang Immortal, Wang Yuanmei made a biography for him, and he also showed his glory. Later, the Taicang people were even more dissidents: after the reincarnation of Fuyang, they were married to the Hui women, and they said that they were ignorant, and if they were true. However, when I heard that if the sergeant died, he would do everything in his hand. If he was not slandered by a proverb, then he should also be ridiculed. However, it is even more sensible if the scholar has this romanticism, and the room has no sputum, and the wife is old and old, it seems that it is not appropriate to get this bad news, set to ridicule the real ear. 』I have mentioned: "When you hear the death of a man, you will do your best." 』
According to the feudal literati from the last century under the worship of Tang Xianzu, there is also a mention of this predecessor's record, all of which are the words of the singer who deliberately slandered Tang Xianzu. However, most of the literati who lived in the late Ming Dynasty were Tang Xianzu fans. Xu Shuzheng was full of praise for Tang Xianzu, not a slander. On the contrary, in this record, he mentioned that he was listening to the literati’s personal confession (“early smell”), which was recorded in the end of the Ming Dynasty. It was rumored that Tang Xianzu died of Hualiu’s disease instead of him. Defamation. According to this record, I also know that it is not Xu Yifang's deliberate nonsense for the later generations, but that people in the Tang Xianzu era knew this. When they died, they were "hands and feet" (the joints of long syphilis are like broken hands and feet). To say that strict defamation is to go to the Qing Dynasty to learn the glory of the road, and some meteorological, such as the Qianlong era Gu Gongyu's "Summer Record": "There were people who traveled to the Hades, see the A-Prison, and the two People, very bitter. Who is it for? Ghosts and paws: This is the yang masterpiece of "The Return of the Soul" and "The West Chamber", never surpassing. Yi Yi. 』
Therefore, in the Ming Dynasty, Xu Shuzhen’s text, when he wrote Tang Xianzu’s death, was “hands and feet”. This is the same as Xu Weifang’s poem when he cites Tang Xianzu’s discussion about Tu Long’s death from syphilis. The ulcers, the bones and bones are bad, the pain can not be tolerated, and the teaching order is a little bit fixed. In the "Ten Tens of the Game", when Tu Long, who was suffering from syphilis, died, "the bones are broken" is synonymous. The so-called "when the singer dies, the hand and the foot do their best" is also the same as "when Ruoshi died, the bones and muscles are bad." This is the rumor that Tang Xianzu’s contemporaries in the late Ming Dynasty later appeared in the late Ming Dynasty. It was written on the same day’s notes, not the “doubt” of the later generations of Xu Weifang. However, if Mr. Xu has a more extensive historical data and a record of the people at the end of the Ming Dynasty, it is more convincing for Xu Weifang’s argument that Tang Xianzu’s syphilis has died, and that Tang’s ancestors will not be treated as religious. Mr. Xia wrote the text for the poor. (Liu Youheng: "A Study of the Truth of Ancient Drama History", Taipei: City State Press, 2019)

You know the drill: further notes and detailed warnings behind the cut.  ^_^
September 4, 2021: First of all, thank you all for your patience!  This monster is about 22k words, so hopefully it will be worth the wait.  ;D  As with the last one, I'll be editing as I go, so I don't have a definite posting schedule, the whole thing IS done, so at least I can promise I won't leave you hanging.  ^_~  I have five prompts left in last year's Whumptober set and I think I can finish this series off in another one or two fic... so there's a chance I'll finish it off before the next Whumptober starts?  ;D  (I have my eye on Wu Xie and Ershu for that one, so... watch this space?  XD)
Further details about warnings and Prompt fills:          This is the fic where the series most earns its major archive warning, so... here we go!
The chapter opens on a scene in prison.  (This is a nightmare, but it depicts elements of real events that Fusheng remembers from the month Xingcheng was gone.) There are mentions of Xu Rui'an beating Liu Shuzhen.  Fusheng hears this but doesn't witness it.  Xu Rui'an then comes into his cell and rapes him.  This is somewhat graphic, but not very long.  If you want to skip the act itself, it starts after the sentence: "Fusheng wanted to vomit." and you can pick up again at "When Fusheng came to, there was still a heavy weight pressing him down..."
The next section includes a panic attack (when Fusheng wakes up), during which Fusheng isn't sure what's real and thinks he is still in prison.   There is also a section where he has a rapid series of flashbacks to the nightmare he just had.
In the next section, Fusheng is still experiencing bursts of panic/anxiety as Xingyuan tries to help him and talk to him, and he is mostly unable to speak in return.  He later escapes from his room, but not before having another flashback to what Xu Ruian had done to him.  Xingcheng catches up to him just before he can leave the house and Fusheng has one final full panic attack, leading to an episode of severe dissociation before eventually coming back to himself.  There are more elements of derealization here, as Fusheng is convinced that none of this is real, that Xingcheng is playing some kind of game with him.  Fusheng also has a brief moment of suicidal ideation in this section.
There will be further detailed warnings on later chapters, but for now, please check the tags so you have some idea of what you're getting into!
Prompt fills: No 14. IS SOMETHING BURNING? (Branding, Heat Exhaustion, Fire) -- alternate used: Alt 10. Nightmares No 15. INTO THE UNKNOWN (Possession, Magical Healing, Science Gone Wrong) -- alternate used: Alt. 12. Water No 18. PANIC! AT THE DISCO (Panic Attacks, Phobias, Paranoia) No 31. TODAY’S SPECIAL: TORTURE (Experiment, Whipped, Left for Dead)
